When Sam and Tucker found out what happened at work they both had very different reactions. Tucker burst out laughing and Sam groaned, pinched the bridge of her nose, and sank further down on the couch.

“You told Bruce Wayne, the owner of the place where you work and the richest man in Gotham that a ghost problem was ‘above his paygrade’?” Sam asked, sounding 110% done with Danny as he paced anxiously around the living room of the three bedroom apartment they rented together.

“I panicked!” Danny said, his voice cracking desperately making Tucker laugh even harder. “It’s bad enough Boxy followed us here but then he had to go messing with the boxes in storage a ugh. I’m lucky I didn’t get fired.”

“There’s always tomorrow.” Sam teased as Tucker let in a desperate wheeze before he got wacked in the face by a pillow. “Anyways, I picked up stuff for dinner and before you freak out Tucker, yes, I got you guys a frozen pizza and got me a salad. So let’s eat and then call it for a night.”

Calling it a night was a good idea but Danny couldn’t sleep. He might have implied to his friends that he caught Boxy after Bruce left but that was far from the truth. So once he was sure his friends were asleep he transformed, then flew to Wayne Enterprises. He didn’t drop his invisibility until after he was in the building and started walking around.

He had no idea that somebody was still in the building. Not that he had time to care before Box Ghost jumped out in front of him.

“I’M THE BOX- Oh, it’s you.”

Danny glared, “Yeah it’s me! You and I seriously need to talk about this shit, Boxy! This isn’t a game, y’know!?” He hissed at the ghost who just played with a small box in his hand. “This isn’t Amity Park and neither of us can be using our powers whenever the hell we want! Besides, I offered you all of the boxes at our apartment! Isn’t that good enough?”

“There are more boxes here! I demand the possession of all boxes! Cardboard, metal or paper all belong to me because I am the Box-”

“Finish that sentence and I will lock you in the thermos for so long that you forget what a box looks like!” Danny hissed, baring his fangs at the ghost who shrunk down slightly as Danny sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Go to my apartment and stay there. If you do not go there willingly I’ll shove you in the thermos. Do you understand?”

Box Ghost thought about this for a moment, seeming almost disappointed as he looked at the box before he looked at Danny with a glare.

Danny had just long enough to get annoyed at Boxy before the box he was holding slammed into Danny’s face. Box Ghost then threw himself at Danny, grabbing his shoulders as the two flew down two floors before slamming down onto a table. Danny hissed blasting Box Ghost off of him before he jumped to his feet and launched back at Box Ghost.

Now, Box Ghost was not a powerful or particularly smart Ghost but over the past five years he had gotten stronger. So unlike a few years ago when he could just effortlessly defeat Box Ghost and sick him in the thermos he actually put up a bit of a fight. It didn’t help that Box Ghost was also using his powers to throw box after box at Danny, which wouldn’t be bad if they weren’t in Wayne-Freaking-Enterprises surrounded by expensive tech, dangerous chemicals, and priceless research.

Finally after what was way too long Danny managed to get him in the thermos, leaning against a hall wall with a sigh. He hated fighting in big buildings because he had to be careful of anybody in the building and anything else that was kept inside the building. Plus, it also upped the risks of being caught and-

Phantom bristled, turning and holding up his fists as he glared at the shadows. Normal people would be unaware of the figure in the shadows but Danny knew damn well somebody was there.

“Show yourself!” He demanded, his heart sinking when Batman walked out of the shadows looking Phantom up and down. “Batman? Uh, I mean - uh...”

“What are you doing here?” Batman asked, his voice gruff.

“Me? I’m not doing anything.”

Batman glared slightly as Danny swallowed. “What was that you were fighting?”

‘Think of something! Do something! Say something then book it!’ Danny cleared his throat and attached his thermos to his belt, “Sorry, Batman, that’s above your paygrade. Good evening.” He said, then turned invisible and intangible and got the hell out of there.

DC x DP or Marvel Prompt: The Gremlin Janitor

When Wayne Enterprises/Stark Industries hire two new people at the same time who just happened to share the same two references they just though it was a weird coincidence. After all, one was hired on as a programmer due to his excellent hacking abilities while the other was hired on as a Janitor.

They of course ran background checks on both of them but they came up clear. Fresh out of High School, lived in the area, came from Amity Park Illinois, and no criminal record outside of what they had actively admitted to which was only the one who was hired as a Programmer. He got caught for Hacking - hence how they knew about his skills.

But what caught everybody off guard was the first meeting.

Tucker Foley is rather tall, looks his age, and despite looking around like a kid in a candy store seems to have everything in order.

But then there's Danny Fenton. He looks too young to be out of High School though all of his information was sound and he even had paper documentation and other such proof that he was 19 and was as he claimed "Just short". But he was just here to be a janitor.

So did it truely matter?

If anybody was going to be a security risk it would be the hacker with a record.

The first week goes smoothly, but half way through the second week things start to get noticed. Not about Tucker but about Danny. Sure, there had been plenty of comments about his age but other than that he was just praised as being a hard worker even if he didn't understand the concept of wearing a mask and gloves around spilled chemicals.

But no injuries were reported any time he did this. Even when an experimental suit went out of control and started rushing through the building. It was small compared to some of the other tech, but it was still over six feet tall and easily 400 pounds. It wasn't necessarily on a rampage but it was out of control. People ran out of the way, tried to block it, but nobody was successful until Danny - short as hell Danny Fenton - threw himself right in front of it.

Danny blocked it, with just his forearm, stopping it from running over an intern who had been running from the area in fear of getting crushed by the machine. The intern would report that the area was terribly cold when Danny did this but when Tucker came out of hiding a few seconds later saying the machine had been shut down they attributed the cold to anxiety and figured that Tucker had stopped the machine before it had actually hit Danny.

A few weeks later there was a break in the dead of the night, a fight between the intruder and Danny broke out and again Danny held his own and managed to chase off the intruder but not before one of the metal tables were snapped in half. Danny claimed that the intruder had some kind of blade on his arm that cut through it but it was clearly not cut through.

After that Bruce/Tony starts paying more attention to Danny.

More and more minor things popped up until they were finally driven to a point where they just had to meet this kid in person and see him work.

Within moments of arriving they saw Danny Fenton pick up spilled container of Hydrofloric Acid like it was nothing. Which was just one of MANY things that Danny did within an hour that should have ended in disaster.

The final straw though was when Bruce/Tony decided to finally approach Danny and caught him yelling at a box that was mysteriously floating a few feet off the ground.

"PUT THAT THING BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM OR SO HELP ME!" The box then dropped, Danny let out a hiss that sounded like a feral animal, then turned and made eyecontact with the man a few feet from him. Danny's only response? To lean against the broom he was holding and smile. "Oh, hey boss!"
