it feels so weird to be writing an annual recap for a year that was so all over the place [which is also why it’s taken me so long to finally publish this]. i had so many plans at the beginning of 2020, and so many of them – mostly travels – fizzled to nothing by the time spring came around. nevertheless, this is a tradition that i want to continue, so here we are with a look back at everything…

Nagoya Castle was completed in 1615 by the Shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu. I realized I’d been doing this for the longest time and I find it funny this time! I always pack set of clothes per day to not mess my things up, coz I’m distracted, to help myself up as much as possible not to leave stuff behind. august was my month to refocus on myself. i established a somewhat regular exercise routine, i took myself on a little solo holiday, and i gave myself some space to do thing i needed to do for myself.

The best #misokatsu. Try it if you are in #nagoya. Yabaton, said to be the driving force behind making misokatsu as Nagoya’s specialty dish, is a famous restaurant where customers line up just to get inside. Their brown miso sauce is so smooth that the sauce isn't just spread on top of the tonkatsu, it looks more like the tonkatsu is soaked in the sauce. Yabaton’s misokatsu has a relatively lighter taste compared to the other kinds of misokatsu in the area, so even those who are not used to eating miso will find it easier to eat. Waraji Tonkatsu is around (¥1,296). Waraji refers to sandals made of straw, and Waraji Tonkatsu is a dish that comes in a huge serving that is almost as big as a waraji.
