Winter Reunion (ChiLumi fanart)

As I announced before, it was a matter of short time until I upload Childe themed fanart! I really wanted to draw both of them in the clothes inspired by Slavic folk fashion. Snezhnaya chapter comes in just one year and I really hope devs won't forget about the fact that Tartagila is on his way to introduce Traveller to his family. If this is not a marriage plan flag then what is it meant to be?! Only the background of this one pains me. This piece got rid of my free computer storage.
You can purchase the print in my INPRNT shop.
Don't repost my artworks, please! I'll appreciate likes, comments and reblogs. ♡

Hii I Hope you’re doing well! Can I request for a TLH and the user, despite being energetic, always laughs and smiles once she rests and acts calm, her face is really sad and in her thoughts but when someone ask her about that she just smiles and brush it away.
Of course if you’re busy or don’t want to do it,it’s perfectly fine you have to take care of you! Love🫶
Anyone who meet you for first time have an impression that you're cheerful, full of energy person. But after spending more time with you they started to notice that whether you are standing away from people your smile tends to vanish, your mind tormented by some troubles.
Whenever they ask you if you're alright you would smile and respond that you're fine. They respect that you're not ready to talk to them about your troubles so they won't press. They won't hide they are sad that you don't want to share your burdens, but give them a second and then they will suggest if you want to do something fun together. Aether, Chongyun, Bennett, Thoma, Gorou, Ororon, Baizhu, Kaveh
When they notice your sadness they won't ask you about it, it's not like they don't care about you, they will still be by your side if you need to talk to someone. They would do their own thing while being close to you. If you wish to talk to them they will immediately stop and put their whole attention to you. Alhaitham, Freminet, Razor, Diluc, Albedo, Dainsleif, Wanderer, Xiao, Mika, Kazuha, Wriothesley, Tighnari, Zhongli, Kinich, Neuvillette
They won't ask but immediately try to do something to make you laugh or at least smile. They want to see you genuinely happy and do everything to bring that smile on your face again. Of course if you're willing to tell them they will listen to your troubles too. Itto, Childe, Cyno, Venti, Lyney, GaMing, Heizou, Sethos, Kaeya, Ayato, Xingqiu
You're always there for them, always willing to listen and if you can you will share some resolution or just comfort them. So they wonder why you don't let them do the same for you?

Of All Things, I Became...

You always imagined that if you woke up in the world of Genshin, the possibilities of being a Visionless wielder of elements and a slew of romantic shenanigans would lie in your wake. But when you instead find yourself in the body of a Genshin mob with romance likely out of the question, your only conclusion is that the gods of reincarnation isekai hate your guts.
cw. you lost the isekai 50/50 and became a genshin mob
pairing. genshin x reader
notes. i read [of all things, i became a crow] and decided to run with it. i apologize for nothing. i might add more species from genshin depending on my mood lol. this was originally only going to be about an aranara!reader but... i got inspired

Of All Things, I Became...
... an Aranara
... an Oceanid
... a Geovishap
... a Thunder Manifestation
... an Anemo Slime
So you died and woke up as a Genshin mob. At least you got some cool powers out of it, I guess. Results may vary in trying to get a travel companion out of it though. Not all non-human races in Genshin are created equally, you come to learn.
My Body is Mine Once More
Aranara Edition
Oceanid Edition
Geovishap Edition
Thunder Manifestation Edition
Anemo Slime Edition
After ingesting an elemental crystal, you manage to get your body back! More or less. Not everything about you has returned to normal and if you ever get too emotional, you turn back into your mob form. At the very least, you still are able to use your sick ass powers, so that's a bonus!

SO about the sagau do they ever notice the creator/"imposter" coming back over and over and over again? (could i be 🌸 anon btw)
Sagau au part 2
Pt. 1 Pt. 3 Pt. 3.5
Oh they do notice, but to them you are an abomination, a mockery of their beloved god, who for all they care clawed their way out of the abyss, and just won’t stay dead. They are blinded by their devotion, to a sinister degree. To them their god is untouchable, so sacred that there is no possibility they would leave their throne, and grace their filthy souls with your pure presence. It’s an unfathomable possibility.
It is funny how blinded they are, that it truly does make them filthy souls, as each kill their own creator.
You do have those whom pity you; Childe, Albedo, and Traveler.

Btw I know many people saying "how is childe weaker then an empty seat?", I think this is because the harbingers 1-9 help the fatui in multiple way, capitano did the physical help (strongest), dottore with all the information no like ALL the information, columbina maybe maybe maybe like hypnotize or smth so which can come in handy, arlecchino (strength again), and so on pantalone for the money and salaries for... The whole organisation...
Now I think that seat no. 10th represents neutrality, because it takes nothing and gives nothing, so it is a line between taking and giving
Now tartaglia our dear, pizza sauce (tortilla), ed sheeran, and tartagliacious is the one causing the trouble for the fatui, hence may lead to he out come of 99% destruction 1% neutrality
Andddddd tartaglia loves to kill and is well insane so Ig this proves my point!!

Mind if I could have a SAGAU request? So the player is burnt out from the game. Like completely. Some characters find a way to your desktop and ask "Why haven't you entered Teyvat lately?" After explaining that you still like/love them, they are disappointed but understandable. Problem is, they can't go back until you launch the game. So the characters sort of become desktop buddies (Showing my age aren't I?) and perhaps helping you out in the various other games the player would play or just vibing as you surf the web, make arr, write stories, etc. As for the characters... Aether and Paimon at least, though adding Kazuha, Yanfei, Freminet, Bennett, Fischl, Childe, and Collei would be cute too.
Genshin Impact Desktop Buddies
Summary: In which your favourite Genshin characters miss you.
Or now you have them as your desktop buddies until Genshin Impact is fixed.
Pairings: Aether & Paimon, Kazuha, Yanfei, Childe and Fischl x Neutral! Reader!
Note: Desktop buddies are ancient now lol, but honestly such a cool thing to have back then. Hope you enjoy!
Warning: None, just fluffy goodness.
★・・・・・・★
You’re tired. Like really tired.
Grinding for artifacts, ascension and weapon materials has worn you out. That includes your wallet too.
They were worth it, no doubt about that, but staring at a screen all day every day could tire anyone out.
And yea, you need sleep.
For the first time in a long time, you decided to shut down the game, and take at least a few day break.
It’s not like it would make a big difference right?
Little did you know, it most definitely would.
Just a few days later, not only did your laptop started acting weird to the point where you thought of buying a new one, Genshin also disappeared from your desktop.
Before you knew it, you see little figures that look oddly familiar on your screen…
“Why haven’t you entered Teyvat lately?”
Aether & Paimon
The player spun around, eyes widening at the sight of Aether and Paimon now out of the game, and...hopping around on your screen.
"Aether? Paimon? How... how are you here?".
Aether stepped forward.
"Our Creator, we've missed you. The others are worried. Why haven't you been to Teyvat?"
You sighed, has it already been a couple of days? Also, since when were you their creator?
"I'm just a little tired-” There was a dramatic gasp from Paimon.
“Tired of us? Aether! Our Creator is tired of us!”
“No! I mean, I still love Teyvat and all of you, but I needed a break and I will go back soon." You quickly responded with reassurance, which luckily appeased the floating companion.
Paimon floated closer, which was like a weird zoom on her face, her eyes softening with understanding.
"We get it, but... we can't go back to Teyvat until you' launch' the game." She says robotically, but appeared confused right after.
“Ah, okay. Give me a minute.”
When you tried to download the game via the Genshin website, it stated that there was a website maintenance.
“Creator! What is happening? The world is changing!” While you were frustrated, Aether and Paimon were jumping and flying everywhere around your screen, exploring how tabs open and following your mouse as you click and hover.
Their curiosity made you smile, and you slowly explain how everything works slowly as with each passing second, they marvel at how advanced your world is.
“No wonder you’re our Creator!”
“What’s this!?” Before you knew it, you pulled up multiple websites, and the one you landed on was Disney+.
“Do you want to watch a movie?”
“What’s that?” Aether asked, curious, followed by Paimon’s cute little head tilt.
(You wished you could just squeeze those cute little cheeks-)
“It’s like telling a story, but you get to see it unfold right before you. Here.” You pull up ‘My Little Mermaid’ and they jump seeing the video move, with everyone inside move.
“Woah…it’s like another world!”
Aether seemed to marvel over it, and for a moment, he wondered, maybe, you could traverse worlds too.
Seeing the stars in their eyes made you feel guilty, as if another misunderstanding arose, but you let them be, as their cute little figures sat down and watched the movie.
You too, watched it with them, and for the first time in a while, you didn’t feel lonely.
Throughout the movie, you patted them on the head with your mouse, which the two seemed to like very much.
(And yes, you did pinch those cute little cheeks)
Kazuha
“I’m glad that you didn’t abandon us, Your Highness.”
Never in your wildest dreams did you expect to see THE Canadian Aether, Kazuha, on your screen, bowing respectfully to you.
“Let me know if I can help you in any way. Although my form is…not in the most helpful form, I will do my best.”
You held back a giggle when you saw a shy little Kazuha looking at himself and then at you shyly, and you really wanted to tease him, but you chose not to.
Instead, you pull up your incomplete art project.
Might as well since you can’t download Genshin now and might have to wait for a few days.
“Actually Kazuha, I was hoping you could help me finish my art.” He immediately perked up, a serious expression overtook his shy one.
“Of course, Your Highness, let me know what you want to draw and I can help you!”
“Great! I’m trying to draw a handsome and cute man, he has platinum blond hair…” Slowly, you list one by one, the characteristics of the person you want to draw.
Kazuha learns fast. Soon, he was able to figure out how your art platform worked.
At first, he hesitated, and didn’t want to interrupt your drawing, but slowly, he learned to add in his thoughts and feedback, and guided your mouse to smooth out the lines, and perfect the colouring.
“He has red eyes…”
Calming and soothing, his voice made you feel at peace, just like how you would hang out with him at the top of a mountain somewhere and listening to the game music.
But this time, he was a little closer, where he felt more real albeit still in your screen.
“Your Highness…isn’t this…me?” His little cheeks was dusted with pink as he quickly covered it with his hands.
“It is you.”
“But why…”
“Because you’re one of my favourites, Kazuha.”
It was all it took for him to become shy again, and he began to cough awkwardly as if to mask his embarrassment.
“Thank you…Your Highness.”
Yanfei
“Phew! We were so scared that you left us Your Eminence! But…I suppose we can’t do anything until you open up Teyvat again, until then, let me know if I can help you!”
Yanfei's cheerful voice made you smile as you leaned against your palm.
Then she turned around, as if taking in her surroundings before looking back at you.
“Your Eminence, if I may, may I help you organize your…space?” You blink, and that was when you notice the amount of files littered across the desktop screen, and you realized that from Yanfei’s view, it must’ve been very unorganized.
“Sure.”
Yanfei brightens at your acceptance, and hopped a little to show her excitement.
“Okay! I’m good at this, so leave it to me! Just follow my lead.”
You were gonna clean up your PC eventually, though you did not expect it would be today.
Either way, Yanfei was like a referee and a police, asking questions but also making sure everything was organized correctly.
In a way, Yanfei felt like a Mom asking her child to clean her room.
Even so, it was so cute to see her marching everywhere like a soldier and asking you to organize it in a neat manner.
“Okay, next, let’s organize this folder!”
“Okay-” Before you knew it, you immediately hit backspace.
“Your Eminence…who was that-”
“Let’s move on.” But Yanfei stared at that folder with an intense stare. Did she see it?
With a little nudge and push with your mouse, Yanfei eventually moved on, but she constantly had a smile on her lips.
It was you cosplaying as her for an event.
Yanfei would be sure to tell her friends back home.
Childe
“Well, I’m happy to hear that, Your Highness! But…what were you doing? Away from Teyvat?”
Childe’s smile was a little bit menacing to look at, so you pull up what you were doing before to distract him.
And it did, surprisingly.
“What is this?”
“It’s a game called Valorant.”
You start the game, and once you get prepared, he too was locked in.
With each attack and maneuver, Childe slowly became hyped up by your skill and admired it.
“Your Highness! Why didn’t you tell me before?!” He became to gush, albeit trying to remain civil as he looked between you and your character in game.
“Again.” In the end, he asked (begged) for another show.
This time, you changed your agent to someone else, and once again, showed how skilled you are even in melee, which Childe initially advised against.
But you blew his expectations away.
“Your Highness, can I duel you?”
You blink, before you laugh jokingly, but you knew in real life, Childe would absolutely crush you.
But you leave him be, and instead start another game.
Honestly, Childe would be a great hype man.
Fischl
“Ah, of course! How the stars seem to be against us this time…regardless! With me, Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort here, there is nothing you need to worry about!”
As expected, Fischl is quite the actor and storyteller as she spews on about how she faced something similar before, something just as interstellar as this.
You don’t mind it, after all, if you did, you wouldn’t have Fischl on your team the entire time would you?
Fischl deserves more love is what you find in the fandom, and while she may be annoying at times, you found her passion admirable, and even a little sad when you think this is her way of happiness.
So you respected that, and listened as she rambled on, and moved as if she was on the stage.
Perhaps…she would do good on stage with Furina in Fontaine.
“Fischl, I do need your help on something.” You asked when she finally finished, and she straightened herself with grace as expected from the Prinzessin der Verurteilung.
“I need your help with my stories. I want you to create elaborate and dramatic narratives for everyone to love.” She froze for a moment, but her grin immediately hid her surprise.
“Why of course, I would be delighted. Allow me!” With just a few seconds to think, she immediately began her storytelling.
With her little graceful steps and hops, she almost dances away, but she doesn’t stop sharing her fantasy story full of magic, fate, and stars.
It was hard to keep up, but you didn’t want to disappoint her, so you did your best to type her word by word.
Luckily, she seemed to slow down to match your pace, as if the two of you were a duet with the piano and violin.
When she stops, you end off the story with a dramatic click, and you match her prideful smile.
Truly, Fischl is a character not everyone can handle, but that’s alright.
After all, you love her for who she is, and maybe, Fischl appreciated that more than anything else.

watching the sunrise w/ genshin men <3
lineup includes : diluc, kaeya, zhongli, childe
all fluff 🥰 || gn! reader ||
>diluc<
two cups of coffee sit on the outdoor table. the chairs on each side are positioned perfectly towards the east of Mond where you can see the distant city and the first gleaming orange rays of the sun peeking past sharp rooftops and rolling hillsides. looking back down to the table, you notice how the fresh steam rolls over the soft lip of your coffee cup, then lilts up into the air lazily to meet the early morning fog. one mixture is considerably darker than the other which lets you know who’s is who’s.
you take a seat, wrap your chilled fingers around your cup, and bring it close to your chest.
“good morning.” the groggy voice comes from beside you, slipper’s growing louder as he approaches.
“good morning 'luc.”
he is so beautiful in the mornings.
his hair falls freely over his shoulders and back. vermillion strands curl wildly around his ears and brush against his full lips. he hadn’t stopped to brush it all out, but his restless sleeping had resulted in cute little cowlicks here and there. his skin, not yet washed, is splotched red from the pressure of sleeping on his tummy, face pressed deep into those cushy pillows he just insisted upon you having. and his eyes, already heavily lidded and droopy, are barely open yet, causing them to seem darker than they truly are.
he glances across the table at you, a lazy yet loving smile pulling on his lips. as the sun rises over the horizon, it casts bright light against his face and his skin seems to glow. slowly, his bare hand slips across the wooden surface.
you reach out for him as well, balancing your mug on your thigh, and assure that your hands link together in the middle. once settled, diluc begins to rub a soft thumb across your knuckles.
“how did you sleep last night, my love?”
>kaeya<
a yawn breaks your lips apart, already closed eyes squeezing tighter. you feel the warm bedsheets fall away as your back arches off the mattress in a full body stretch, toes pointed and arms sprawling.
the stiffness finally dissipates and you sigh, flipping over onto the body next to you.
“ow…” the whine leaves his lips reluctantly as if he’s not quite ready to wake up yet. but by now the sky is jus beginning to brighten up. you can see the beginnings of a beautiful sunrise and kaeya would never forgive you if you let him sleep through it.
so you press a kiss to his nose. “kaeya~” you sing his name, “wake up love, the sun is rising.”
slowly his eyes blink open, one a startling deep blue, the other marred by a pale cataract. your thumb subconsciously runs across the scar under his wounded eye as you watch his body stir.
“good morning sweetheart.” he yawns, finally pushing himself up onto his elbows and rubbing his eyes open.
you roll off him, simply opting to sit up and lean gently against his shoulder as he settles.
there’s a bit of a drool stain on the corner of his lip and his hair stands up wildly. each wave is extremely voluminous, so much so that some strands stick straight up. you do your best to flatten them out for him, but it seems that until he’s bathed his hair wouldn’t be budging.
kaeya doesn’t seems to mind you tending to him though. as predicted his eyes are fixed on the beautiful sunrise outside the window.
the sun is jus beginning to peek over the windowsill, it’s bright rays painting a beautiful mirage of yellows, pinks, and blues all across the morning sky.
“isn’t it gorgeous?” he grins, snaking an arm around your waist and pulling you closer to his chest.
“absolutely.” you agree, though your eyes are stuck entirely on him.
>zhongli<
he arrives with the pristine tea set, carefully balancing it between his two hands so that not a drip spills. the set is from the previous century after all, and the fear that even the slightest tremor would crack the side of such an ornate piece is real for zhongli. ever so gently, he places the metal tray onto the balcony table.
once the tray is settled you reach out and rub your hand along his forearm, “beautifully done honey.”
“thank you,” he closes his eyes and smiles appreciatively before taking a polite step back and gesturing widely to the tray, “drink as much as you like, i can always make more.”
you raise the cup closest to you and hold it carefully in your hands. “these are so beautiful zhongli,” you breathe out his name, completely taken by the ‘glowing’ yellow design on the cup’s side, “are they from your past?” you ask hesitantly.
“yes, they’re quite important to me,” he smiles, “but i figured for someone as handsome as you, these would suit the occasion perfectly.”
“thank you.” you murmur, a wild blush rushing over your skin. zhongli chuckles beside you, nudging your foot with his.
“i believe the sunrise is beginning.”
sure enough the sun was truly jus beginning to wake. pale yellow rays begin to break up the fog that shrouds your homes balcony, giving you both a clear view to the street vendors as they set up shop for the day.
the light travels over the dips and cracks in the cobblestone streets, carressing the sides of each house as it travels. early risers begin to throw open their home shutters, fetching the previous days' laundry or watering their flower boxes.
you cast a glance over at your fiance, simply watching as a serene expression crosses his face. he's so incredibly beautiful to you, with an arched nose and full lips. his deep skin tone is complimented by the orange rays that finally touch his cheek, warming his appearance and giving him almost a godly glow.
>childe<
“it’s cold!” you huff, rubbing your hands up and down your already bundled up arms. Childe laughs heartily beside you, his bright red nose and cheeks no doubt pulsating at the nippy winter air. you’d both been traveling for what felt like hours now across a barren wasteland of ice, miles away from childe’s home with now way to contact anyone. with each breath either of you take, the sting in your throat grows, no longer able to be pushed to the back of your mind. you know it’s nothing a good pot of tea can’t fix, but it’s bothering nonetheless, especially to a person from a warmer climate like yourself.
“it’ll be worth it honey, the fish here are huge!” he exclaims, throwing his arms out recklessly like he’s not carrying two fishing poles with insanely huge and decorative hooks attached to them, “they’re made for handling this frigid type of climate which makes a lot of people think their meat is tough but it’s really so good. it’s tender and if you season it just right like mom does it brings out the best flavor in them i swear. and there’s not a piece of them we don't use, my dad even sells tools he makes out of the bones.”
no matter how cold it gets, you swear you could listen to childe ramble on about his home life for days. it’s the only time you really get to see his eyes light up, and a smile stretch across his face. those precious little cheeks of his grow red from happiness and his eyes crinkle at the corners. you love watching him get excited over something that’s not putting his life at risk. it’s refreshing.
“oh! look,” childe reaches out for your hand and pulls you forward slightly, “the sun is coming up!”
for a moment the both of you pause, watching the pale yellow slump of the sun rise above the vast horizon. the light layer of snow above the ice you stand on begins to sparkle, each flake suddenly shining like singular diamond. you glance to your side to see the shine reflecting in childes eyes, a small smile plastered to his face as he watches. “isn’t it pretty?”

Hii hope you’re doing well! Can you do one of Traveler’s little helper where the men discover that the reader had a first love that broke her heart? Take care!🫶
Hi! I'm doing fine! Thank you! ^^ ---- They will shower you in compliments, trying to take your mind from that terrible person who didn't appreciate you like everyone here does. You may expect them to cook your favorite food, bring you to some nice place or show you some tricks. They hope they will be able to help you forget about that person. Your happiness is the most important to them. Aether, Thoma, Chongyun, Bennett, Mika, Venti, Freminet, Lyney, GaMing, Razor, Gorou, Heizou, Kazuha, Sethos, Ororon, Wriothesley, Kaeya, Cyno They will eloquently insult said person. Albedo, Alhaitham, Tighnari, Zhongli, Diluc, Kinich, Neuvillette, Ayato , Xingqiu, Baizhu (Changsheng), Diluc, Dainsleif

MDNI: I lost my Love. Can I have yours, Comrade?
Pairing: Tartaglia x F! Reader
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Rating: 18+
Warnings: menntions of soft sex, cuteness overload from our good red fox, cunnilingus or however the fuck you write it as, slight breeding king, but not really, harbinger on the loose being a simp, mention of y/n because I was never over my ao3 erra, minor character death
You are the traveller in this one, you're a womam, deal with it
It was a sunny summer morning in Lyiue. You woke up from a restless slumber, as Paimon was already complaining about the heat. "Paimon didn't remember the Harbour being this steamy last time we were here." You giggled slightly, putting on your skirt over your undergarments; the little fae was right. Liyue really did get more hot than the last time you were here for your adventure with the Carp Adeptus. But that is a story for another time, my dear. The sun was shining brighter than usually, the incoming warmth, or rather heat, was making itself felt from morning. This was going to be a long day, wasn’t it, traveler?
The two of you went outside, still groggy after a not-so-good night's sleep and made your way to Wangming Restaurant to see if you could buy something for 200 mora. In the weird economy of the land of the geo archon, you could never know what 200 mora might get you: a fried egg or an entire old-style house. Stay tuned to find out! The economy in this nation was horrible, truly. Imagine not knowing how much something will cost the next day or how much inflation and deflation will last; horror, pure and utter horror.
As Paimon's mouth salivated over the fresh fruit salad and cremmy tea puffs, your stomach was crying and your wallet was embarrassed to even show face to other people. "300 mora for a fish cutlet?! This is obscene!" You hear some cummon passerby say intrigued. Obscene indeed. Paimon was tugging at your hand like a child begging you to get something good to eat. You didn't had the heart to tell her the both of you were broker than Zhongli. Ah, how much you wanted to go back to those simpler times, when people didn’t knew you and you and Paimon would sleep under the stars, eating sunsetias and skewers, and didn’t had so many things on your mind, didn’t know the dark secrets of Teyvat.
You heard an all too well known whistle, you didn't even had to turn aroud to confirm your suspicions on who it was. "Oh? What do my favourite ladies want to eat this morning?" Tartaglia, Childe, Ajax, 11th of the Fatui Harbingers (regardless of the free spots in the mafia), and all time pretty boy was back in Lyiue. Sometimes, you felt like he was following you around, but you couldn't really say he followed you in Natalan from what you know. And he wasn’t in Monstadt… but Liyue, Inazuma, Fontaine were on his checklist, and you could only guess that he also was spying on you in Sumeru through Dottore’s eyes.
"Childe!" Paimon chanted in a sing-song voice, excited to be telling him all about your travels since you parted ways in Fontain's Court Room. He gave you his wallet and gave you the heads up to order whatever you wanted as he took your companion to one of the tables. After ordering and grabbing the plates, you went to them.
You nodded slowly and sat down. You still had his vision, who was stupid enough to ever lose, missplace or sell a vision. Not you, not ever. You told him you left it at your room at the Harbour with your blade and Paimons plushie. "A plushie-" "Mavuika gifted her a plushie to make the parting better." He sighed deeply, it was clear that the whole shabam with Natalan was not a good thing for him. After all, his idol, his master and maybe friend has lost his life to the Kingdom of Night, forever condemned to forever guard the Throne of Flames.
"So? What brings you back here?"
"I could ask you the same thing, girlie. Still got my vision on you by any chance?"
While you and Paimon ate confused he told you everything that he knew. Aparently, the God of Love was growing more weary of the harbingers and was afraid that if she allowed the strong ones to continue on, they will riot against her. So she was sending them off to suicide missions like she did with La Signora, drove them to insanity like she did with the Wondered (you thought), and now cursed Capitano and forced his soul into the Night Knigdom to guide the lost souls. But souls will forever get lost there. It was like the problem imposed by Oroboros, an all powerful snake. Childe didn’t knew more than he already told you.
"So, you met Capitano... I believe you were surprised of what happened?"
"Why?"
"Because the Tsaritsa wanted him dead for a long while"
The God of Love and Compassion loosing herself to doubt and hunger for power was something inimaginable at first, but you remembered Venti’s and Zhongli’s words, as well as Mona’s. The ones that love the most will one day turn as cold as ice and will start to hurt not only others but themselves also… In other words, the Tsaritsa was destined to go mad with fear and hate. Her people, her believers… were they going to be ok?
"So, you see... since the Tsaritsa sees me as powerful, I have to hide back in Lyiue again. Here, the Fatui can't reach me easily since the area was cleared long ago by you." He slowly sipped from his tea cup. He tried not to show it, but he was scared that death was waiting at his doorstep at home. Or maybe he would die with honour, but he could never make his family mourn or suffer from the loss of his life. Yes, this seemed more like it, the ginger man was always thinking of his family before anything else.
"So this means that you are now stuck here? For eternity?" Paimon inquiered with her mouth stuffed with sweet red bean paste buns. Childe nodded. "Well, not really eternity. I'm still just a man, you know? I'll live maybe to 60 or 70 years considering how many wounds I have had all these years... One of my hands already started to get too stiff, you know?" He emphasised his words by trying to flex his left fist, but his hand moved hardly, his palm convulsing for a second before allowing him to close his fist.
You wanted to reach out and hold his hand, to reassure him to comfort him in a way. To loose something as simple as free mobility in a hand from this age was hurtful to watch, let alone actually experiencing it. Tartaglia was a strong man, hiding his emotions and feelings from everyone around him. Yeah… definitely he didn’t want to put pressure or concern his family. You wondered what lie he told his parents and his little siblings for them to not even question his sudden return to the land of the Geo Archon.
___________
After you ate and talked some more, Paimon decided to go back to the room you two had near the harbour and take a small nap. She was teribly tired after the long walk from Natalan to Lyiue; and to be entirely honest, you were as well. But of course, you chose to spend some time with the redhair instead, not knowing when exactly you'd see him next. He was like a wild fox, fast and cunning, always hiding himself in the shadows until he'll strike again and capture the mouse or hen he wishes to eat. But was he going to be able to hunt again like the predator he was raised as? Was Tartaglia going to be ok laying low under the radar?
Was the Tsaritsa really this heartless? To kill her most precious soldiers?
It seemed horrible. Absolutely horibble! But it was the cruel truth: from the predator, Childe became the pray in a matter of days, weeks, heck even months! But, the archon did seem insane enough to have considered this form the beginning, planing the intricate deaths of all her dear harbingers. Why else would she let them fail almost all missions… and, in first instances, Signora and Childe were the only ones who retrieved the gnosises without too much trouble. You were the trouble, in a way, but much more weaker and inexperienced than now. Were you the reason why everything was happening? Why people died?
The sun was shining brightly, and it was humid outside, the heat even more unbearable as you walked with the harbinger near the Quingxu Pool. He invited you to take a stroll around the Lisha, but found yourselves walking for a couple of hours now. "Y/N, I... I was going to ask you if you're any closer to finding your brother? I know how much family means to you. " Ah, he read you like an open book. "Well, to be honest, we did meed a couple of times and we talked. I even have a picture with him but i don't remember ever taking it..."
That was curious really. Not remembering a fond memory with your lost twin, yet remembering everything you and Childe did together. It seemed like you were a traitor. He didn't judge you though. He held your hand and lead you to the pool, trying to pull you in. He climbed up the trees and got fresh sunsetias for you. He even collected some nice and shiny pebbles from the deeper ends of the Pool just so he could give them to you. "The lake isn't even that deep, girlie. You just have to get in! It's more fun-" He tried to reason with you, but you still refused him, vehemently. Not after seeing Ferminet almost loose himself in the Primordial waters.
And so you followed him. The water almost instantly got colder, giving you goosebumps as soon as it hit your skin. You shivered slightly, feeling the sand slip loose from under your feet, you had to rely now simply on yourself to stay afloat. Now, when did Childe get soo good at swimming? You didn't remember him being so good? Or maybe his little predicament with the All Devouring Narwhal changed him more than you thought. The water was like an ice bucket, the complete opposite of the weather outside. If you were going to get sick from this, you’d kill him.
"A traveller afraid of a little challange?"
"Wll, you didn't challange me, Mr.~"
"Fine, then I challange you to swim with me in the deeper ends" Now, a traveller not accepting a challenge was like a watch not telling you the time… And so,…
You finally were almost next to him, the redhead inviting you to dive in with a smile. You took in a large breath and dove underwater. Your head, dried and overheated by the sun, met with the cold, refreshing gust of waters that got in between your locks. You wanted to shriek from the sudden change in temperature, but you couldn’t, not right now anyways. You felt a hand gently wrapping around your upper arm, and tugging at it, like telling you to follow it. Childe, the ever-so-gentleman that he was, allowed you to hook around him as the two of you dove deeper and further into the water. At this rate you were going to drown! You needed air at some point and you were anxious about getting out in time for it! You squirmed in protest, as you saw he wasn’t even thinking about the obvious like you did. He held you closer to himself, your head pressed to his chest allowing you to feel the steady and slow rhythm of his heartbeat to calm down. You felt the water pressure getting lighter and lighter.
You realised he brought you to the surface only when the sun mercilessly burned the top of your head and you opened your eyes reluctantly. You laid on top of the ginger harbinger as he floated, smiling up at the sky. “Scared ya? Don’t worry, milyy. I’d never let you drown, get pierced my a hilichurl’s arrow or shredded by the claws of a saurus.” You really didn’t want him to notice the blush dusted darkly on your face, but you were sure he did notice it. Even someone as oblivious to love as paimon would. His words were more than a comfort told to cool the waters (pun intended); he actually meant everything he told you, which warmed your heart more than the heatwave was already doing it.
“You’re staring, girlie…”
“And are you complaining, Mr. Tortellini?”
Not even 2 seconds after you called him that, he twisted his body to the side, making you fall in the water unexpectedly as he laughed like a hiena at your futile attempt to bring him down with you. You both held each other in a kind of far embrace and laughed at the absurdity of it all, life being so hard, yet the two of you playing in the water like two kids that did not yet learned about the cruelty of the world and how vile some people could be. You were two kids playing, two kids having fun and two kids falling in love with one another… Falling in love, in this economy?! (Sorry I had to make the joke), but no really, falling in love in this situation, with him of all people could lead to only pain. Will it be more painful to never tell him, or to live with loving him only for him to die so easily so suddenly…
You were conflicted, deep down, your mind not fully allowing you to feel happy about this moment with Childe. How about a brain factory reset, traveler? Only 2 trillion mora, only for you. Buy one get one for free-
“Y/N, you look so pretty with your hair all wet like that, you know? The prettiest girl ever, my milyy” The harbinger suddenly said as he places a butterfly kiss on your cheek, his hands slowly going further up your arms, now grasping your shoulders lightly. You knew that part of this gentleness of his was due to the join pain he felt… You felt bad for him, feeling the need to hold him even tighter and tell him you loved him more than anything. But will you? Risking everything, your friendship and your memories with him only because you were selfish and you wanted him to offer more of his heart than he already had? It was a horrible thing to do: confessing to another human. Horrible, but more than that horrifying. What if he didn’t just said no, but felt so disgusted and used by you that he would tell you to go fuck your self, stay away from him for 100, no 1000 years in this and the next lives that will come.
“Aren’t you going to tell me anything, girlie? You’ve been staring at that poor calla lily for the past 10 minutes…” And answer, he wanted an answer from you. But to what question.
“I don’t think I can tell you.
“Then I’ll wait for that answer: 100, no…. One thousand years I’ll wait for your answer in this and the next lives to come.” His grasp on your shoulders was more powerful and meaningful, he wanted you -- he needed you to answer him and to tell him you felt the same, didn’t he?
You just smiled and sighed with a slight shake of your head. This man will be the death of you, that was for sure. Either from his cuteness, from his devotion to you or from a brutal future spar. Though, you did help the later doesn't happen ever again. You still had bad dreams about what happened at the Golden House.
All this time, all this mother fucking time that you two had spent together in an awkward-ish way that mutual pining people do; he belived you two were a couple. Genuinely belived you were a thing?! Sir how dare you not be more obvious for this sweet little traveler. A big part of you was reliefed he felt the same, but there was a tiny part that was confused. You never gave him signals that you even liked him romantically, yet he believed you two were together. The 11th Fatui Harbinger was a very stange man, a cold and unforgiving person, yet he protects his family and loves them all with his very being. And now you learn he loves you; maybe just as much.
"I think I am in love with you, Childe..."
"Of course you are, we're together-"
"What?"
Childe gently cupped your cheeks in his hands and slowly pulled you in for a kiss. You didn't fight it, not one bit as you let yourself go soft in his arms. Not a thought between your eyes as his rough, yet warm lips glide against yours in a slow dragged out way. It felt good, having him here like this with you in the water. "You cannot believe how much I've wanted to kiss you, milah, but you always act so cold.."
You didn't know how and you didn't know when; but the red haired man brought you both back to the lake shore. You were still drunken by the kiss, as the lack of cold water around you made you instantly warm up to un uncomfortable level. You gently pushed him away to take a deep breath in and calm your senses. Or rather tried to come back to your senses, but you were drunk. You were so drunken by this man.
Well, how can anyone not let a cute fox like him take a bite when he asks so politely?
"Childe-"
"Please let me love you, Y/N~"
______________
When you've gone back to your place by the harbour it was already late at night and you found Paimon waiting for you by the porch, with a cup of chilled tea and a few sweets. She looked like she waited for you for quite a bit. The still partially wet hair, dusted cheeks and crampled damp clothes were signs that something did happen between you and the Harbinger. But Paimon was never one to ask you something like this, and definitely she wasn't judging; she was just worried you came home late.
"I promise I'll come back before sundown next time-" You half-appologised like a pre-teen girl caught out with her boyfriend. And what a boyfriend you now had: one that knows how to make your mind foggy with pleasure as he laps at your folds, one that gently kisses you as he puts it in the first time and caresses your cheek as you let out soft sobs or when he spils deeply into you.
Tartaglia was a rough man that used to fight tooth to tooth with anyone who dared to even look at him the wrong way. He was never the type of man to show affection to anyone, his family members were the only ones he used to care about and protect. But now he has you, now that changed forever. Or at least... you hoped that it will last forever.

The Legend~
Childe(Ajax) x F. Reader (angst)
A/n: you guys…it is 4 in the morning and I have not slept yet🥲✌️ but I hope you all enjoy this chapter and story. I really had a lot of fun writing it and I hope you have fun reading! But enough of me talking, let’s get onto the reading! Thank you again and have a great day/night my lovelies🥰🥰

As I strolled down the sidewalk, anticipation bubbled within me for yet another mission with Ajax. Despite the short notice, my excitement overshadowed any inconvenience. Ajax’s enthusiasm for my company mirrored my own, filling me with a warm sense of camaraderie. I had initially planned to spend time with Jean, but when I explained the situation, she graciously understood.
She playfully teased me about Ajax, insinuating a romantic connection that wasn’t there. Despite my protests, she persisted with a knowing smirk, leaving me flustered but amused.
——
“Okay, well when you get back, you and I are going to have a girls day out.” Jean said, a smirk coming to her face.
“And…try not to have too much fun with that boyfriend of yours.” She teased, making your face heat up
“Shut up, Jean. He’s not my boyfriend…we are just friends!” You retorted.
She just chuckled in disbelief.
“Yeah, okay. Just friends…we will stick with that for now.”
——
"Now, you were just moments away from Ajax. Moments away from the man who enveloped you in warmth and joy, who effortlessly brought laughter to your lips when you needed it most. Your heart fluttered with anticipation as his familiar, comforting voice reached your ears. With a quickened pace, you approached, a smile spreading across your face at the sight of his tousled hair.
However, as you finally reached him, your joy faltered at the presence of another girl – the infamous traveler, Lumine.
"Oh, n/n! I thought I had told you... I guess I forgot in the midst of everything," Ajax said, his smile directed towards Lumine.
"Tell me what?" you inquired, a knot forming in your stomach.
"Well... I actually don't need you for this mission this week. Lumine offered to help, and I couldn't refuse. She's quite renowned around here. So, you're free to do whatever you want!" Ajax's words stung, a pang of hurt piercing your chest. Despite years of fighting alongside him, you couldn't shake the feeling of being second choice. Yet, you managed to mask your disappointment with a forced acceptance.
"O-Oh... well, alright. If you'd rather go with her, then I suppose it's an opportunity for me to rest," you replied, attempting to quell the rising jealousy within you.
Ajax's smile and pat on your shoulder did little to ease the sting. "Thanks, y/n! I knew you'd understand! I'll catch up with you another time. How about joining me on my next mission? Next week?" he proposed.
Your smile returned, though tinged with a hint of sadness. "Sure! I'd love that."
"Great! See you then! Take care, n/n!" With that, Ajax departed with Lumine, leaving you with a fading smile and a heavy heart.
As they disappeared from view, your once-wide smile faded into a solemn frown. With a soft sigh, you turned on your heel, making your way back to Jean to relay what had transpired."
*****
"He did what!?" Jean's voice rang out with fury, her fists slamming onto the table. You couldn't help but widen your eyes, taken aback by Jean's uncharacteristic outburst.
"Jean, calm down. It's really not a big deal," you attempted to reassure her, though her agitation was palpable.
"No! He stood you up! Left you in the dust to be with that girl!" Jean's frustration boiled over, her tone laced with indignation.
"Lumine," you interjected softly, trying to bring a semblance of reason to the conversation.
"I don't care what her name is! What matters is that he abandoned my best friend," Jean retorted, her frustration evident in every word.
"Jean, please. He promised we can go another time. He even suggested I join him on his next mission," you explained, hoping to quell her anger.
"And you believe him? After what he did just now?" Jean's skepticism was palpable, her doubt weighing heavily in the air.
"Well... yeah," you replied hesitantly, feeling a pang of uncertainty.
Jean scoffed, turning away from you in frustration. "He made a mistake, Jean! I'm sure he didn't mean to. He just—" you started, attempting to defend Ajax.
"No. Don't make excuses for him. He's not a child anymore. Anyone with an ounce of decency would have known better," Jean interrupted, her voice tinged with disappointment.
You sighed, watching as Jean composed herself. "Sorry... it's just... I hate seeing you hurt. You're like the sister I never had. And when someone hurts someone close to me, I just... lose it," Jean confessed, her anger subsiding into a softer tone.
"I understand, Jean... but give him another chance. I truly believe this is just a one-time thing. He won't do it again. I know it," you reassured her, offering a small smile.
Jean looked away, lost in thought for a moment. After a deep breath, she relented. "Okay. If you trust him, then I guess I should too," she conceded with a smile.
"Good. Now, enough about him. Let's go get something to eat. I'm starving!" you suggested, pulling her out of her chair.
"You read my mind," Jean replied with a giggle, the tension between you gradually dissipating as you turned your attention to more pleasant matters.
*****
I woke up with excitement once again. Today was the day! The day I get to hang out with Ajax and go on an adventure with him for the weekend! I quickly got out of bed, took a shower, and got ready.
I grabbed my sword and ran out of the house, not wasting a minute. I scurried around people, finding my way to Ajax’s and our meetup spot—a lonely little area just outside Mondstadt. It took me a good 30 minutes to get there, but I made it just on time. And there he was, waiting... but again... he was not alone.
"Hey Ajax! I’m here!" I said, my smile faltering just a bit as I, once again, saw Lumine.
“Oh… hey n/n… hey listen-“ He started, but I cut him off.
“Are you ditching me again?” My voice quieted a bit, betraying my disappointment.
He looked away from me, avoiding my saddened eyes. “Look, y/n. This is a really tough mission… and it requires someone with a lot of strength and skill-“
“Are you saying I don’t have those?” I interjected, hurt evident in my tone.
“No! Not at all… but you don’t exactly have any… abilities… visions if you will. Lumine here does,” he explained, his words feeling like a blow to my heart.
“Oh…” I could barely muster a response, my disappointment weighing heavily on me.
“Look, n/n… I just don’t want you to get hurt. That’s all!” He tried to defend himself.
I looked up at him and nodded. “It’s okay, Ajax. I understand. I appreciate that you care for me that way. I’ll just see you next time. Maybe we could just hang out when you get back?” I suggested, trying to hide my disappointment.
“Well… Lumine and I were actually going to go out after our mission,” he added, crushing my hopes even further.
“Out?” I repeated, the disappointment evident in my voice.
“Yeah! You know, hang out for a bit. Show her around town and all that.”
“Oh. Okay. Well then how about the wee-“ I started, but he cut me off.
“How about I just contact you when I’m available? That way we can spend all day together! Does that sound good?” He asked, making me nod weakly.
“Y-Yeah. Sure!” I forced a smile, attempting to mask my disappointment.
He then placed his hand on my head. “Thanks for being so cooperative with me, n/n. I appreciate it.”
“Of course!” I replied, forcing cheerfulness into my tone.
“Well, we had better get going then. See ya later, n/n!” He yelled, grabbing Lumine's hand and running away.
I went back home, spending the rest of my day there. I didn’t tell Jean though. I just told her I was called on another trip that was more important.
******
As you lay in bed, tears streaming down your face, you couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal and inadequacy. Did Ajax really think you were too weak to fight alongside him? Despite not having a vision, you had proven yourself countless times in battle, standing shoulder to shoulder with Ajax against formidable foes. Yet, his actions spoke volumes, leaving you questioning your worth as a fighter and as a friend.
The presence of Lumine only exacerbated your turmoil. While everyone seemed enamored by her, you couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered whenever she was around. It was as if she held secrets, hidden behind her flawless facade. Perhaps it was just your own insecurities magnified by the situation with Ajax, but the doubt gnawed at you relentlessly.
With a heavy heart, you turned over in bed, unable to find solace in sleep. The events of the day replayed in your mind, tormenting you with thoughts of what could have been. Yet, despite the pain and uncertainty, you resolved to let it go, at least for the night. Dwelling on it further would only serve to deepen the wounds already inflicted.
Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes, willing yourself to find peace amidst the chaos. Tomorrow was a new day, and with it, the possibility of clarity and resolution. For now, all you could do was surrender to the embrace of sleep, hoping that the morning would bring a sense of renewal and understanding.
*******
Months had passed since Ajax reached out to you. What’s worse is that he had been spending all of that time with Lumine. You want to speak with him? Sorry, he’s busy talking with Lumine. You want to spar with him? No chance, as he is already with Lumine. You want to hangout, even if it's just for a few minutes? No can do missy. He can’t waste any time now that he's hanging out with Lumine.
He was really getting on your nerves. He sometimes acted like you didn’t even exist to him and just straight up ignored you.
You had been so understanding with him, very fluid even.
You reached out to him today to see if he could hang out with you, but again, he denied. He said he had to babysit his little brother, who you knew very well as you had been his training teacher.
Unfortunately, as you were walking down the streets of Mondstat, you managed to see him and Lumine together…again.
The anger that simmered beneath the surface threatened to boil over as you realized Ajax had once again brushed you aside, opting to spend his time with Lumine instead.
With each rejection, each snub, Ajax's actions chipped away at your patience and understanding. How could he treat you this way after all you had been through together? The hurt and betrayal gnawed at your heart, fueling the fire of resentment that burned within you.
Finally reaching your breaking point, you confronted Ajax, your voice cutting through the air like a blade.
“Ajax!” You yelled, catching his and everyone else’s attention.
He was chuckling with Lumine, his arm wrapped around her.
Your suspicions had been confirmed about them…they had finally become a couple…just like that.
You felt hurt, angry, and sad.
When Ajax heard your voice, he turned with fear in his eyes as he realized he had been caught.
“N/n! W-What are you-“
*smack*
Everyone gasped as you slapped Ajax across the face. He looked at you with shock written all over his face
Tears were welling up in your eyes
“How could you!?”
He just stared down at you with confusion
“How could you just lie to me? Is that what you've been doing all this time? You’ve been lying to me? So you can be with her?!” You yelled as short sobs came out of your mouth.
“N/n…I-“
“Don’t ‘n/n’ me.” You interrupted
“After all these years, a girl suddenly comes in and just makes you change how you treat me!? For months, I have been nothing but understanding towards you! I even missed out on big events just to hang out with you, only to be turned down by you…even though you were the one who ‘promised’ to be with me on another occasion! Just so you could be with a girl you barely even know! She could be an enemy for all we know” You lashed out. Suddenly, Diluc and Kaeya came out to stop you. Ajax's attempts to explain fell on deaf ears as your anger boiled over, drowning out any semblance of reason. The intervention of Diluc and Kaeya was a distant echo in the chaos of your fury as you pushed them away, unwilling to be restrained.
In that moment, all you could see was the betrayal etched on Ajax's face, a painful reminder of the shattered trust that lay between you. As the crowd murmured in hushed tones around you, you stood there, raw and vulnerable, grappling with the wreckage of a friendship torn asunder.
"Get off of me!" you yelled at them, your voice trembling with rage and hurt.
They hesitated for a moment, exchanging uncertain glances, but ultimately stepped back, allowing you to confront Ajax without interference.
Ajax stood before you, shock still etched on his features, his hand reaching up to touch the reddening imprint of your slap on his cheek.
"N/n, I... I didn't mean to..." he began, his voice trailing off as he struggled to find the right words.
"Don't you dare try to justify this," you spat, your voice thick with emotion. "You've been lying to me, Ajax. Sneaking around with her behind my back, making excuses, ignoring me... Do you have any idea how that feels?"
"I-I didn't want to hurt you, n/n," Ajax stammered, desperation creeping into his voice. "I just... Lumine and I, we... it's complicated."
"Complicated? Complicated doesn't give you the right to treat me like I'm nothing," you shot back, tears now streaming down your cheeks unchecked. "You've been my partner, my friend for years, and now you throw it all away for some girl you barely know?"
Ajax opened his mouth to respond.
”Lumine is not just some girl! She’s special and she has done so much for our community!” He yelled back, growing frustrated with you.
"I don't want to hear it," you said, your voice cracking with emotion. "I trusted you, Ajax. I believed in you. And you've betrayed that trust in the worst possible way."
You stopped suddenly when you heard whispers going around you.
“Is she insane? Lumine could never hurt us!”
“She must be drunk.”
“She has no rights speaking that way of Lumine when she has done nothing for us.”
The murmurs around you cut deep, each word like a dagger to your wounded heart. But it was Ajax’s words that truly shattered your world. As he approached, his glare intensified, his voice laced with anger and disdain.
“You should leave,” he spat, his tone harsh and unforgiving. “Before you make everyone else mad. The way you speak about Lumine is unforgiving and unjust! You have no right to talk about her when you don’t even know who she truly is”
Your own anger surged in response. “Me!? What about you!?” you shot back, your voice trembling with emotion.
But Ajax’s response was like a final blow, leaving you reeling. “Enough! Go…you have done enough damage already. You have no right to talk about her like that, especially when she has done way more for this place than you ever have! All you can do is fight with a steel sword! You don’t even have a vision! Compared to her, you are nothing! A nobody!.”
His words pierced through you, leaving you feeling small and insignificant. The hatred in his eyes was like a knife to your heart, each word a painful reminder of the bond you thought you shared.
You looked around and saw everyone stare at you with the same look, even Diluc and Kaeya.
Tears welled up in your eyes again as you felt the sting of betrayal deep within your chest. Fine. If that’s what they want, then that’s what they’ll get.
You left the vicinity, tears streaming down your face, each step heavy with the weight of disappointment and hurt. Returning home, you collapsed onto your bed, your emotions a tumultuous storm raging within you.
******
Gazing at the picture of you and Ajax, memories of happier times flooded your mind. But now, those moments felt like distant echoes of a past that could never be reclaimed. With a surge of anger, you snatched the frame and hurled it to the ground, the glass shattering into a thousand shards mirroring the brokenness of your heart.
As you stared at the ruined photograph, Ajax's words echoed in your mind like a cruel mantra. "You have no right speaking about Lumine like that… you don’t even have a vision like her. You are nothing."
Curling up into a ball, you surrendered to the overwhelming wave of sorrow, your sobs echoing in the empty room. The pain of rejection and abandonment was almost too much to bear, leaving you feeling utterly alone and powerless.
Exhausted from the emotional turmoil, you drifted into a fitful sleep on the cold floor, your dreams haunted by echoes of lost friendships and shattered illusions.
*******
The next morning dawned with a pounding headache, a harsh reminder of the pain you couldn't escape. With a groan, you struggled to rise from your makeshift bed and stumbled to the sink, seeking solace in the promise of relief.
But as you opened the door, hope flickered within you at the sight of a note lying on your doorstep. Rushing forward, you eagerly seized it, praying for a sign of reconciliation from Ajax.
However, your hopes were swiftly dashed as you read the contents of the letter, each word like a dagger to your wounded spirit. It was a scathing rebuke from an anonymous sender, condemning you for your actions and branding you an embarrassment.
With a heavy heart, you crumpled the note in your hand, the weight of shame and rejection bearing down on you once more.
You saw a couple more next to your door, all the same types of letters. All of them belittling you for being worthless compared to Lumine or Ajax.
You crumpled up the papers and tossed them into the crackling fire, watching as they turned to ash before your eyes. But one stubborn piece refused to burn, its edges kissed by the flames but remaining untouched by their destructive force. Puzzled, you tried to push it deeper into the fire, but it stubbornly resisted, glowing with a strange golden light.
Frowning, you retrieved the unburnt paper from the fire, feeling its coolness against your fingertips. As you unfolded it, you were greeted by a mysterious emblem and a cryptic message, signed "L.E."
“Meet me in the forest near the old abandoned house you used to go to. There are some things we must discuss.”
Intrigued but skeptical, you dismissed it as junk and tore it up, tossing the pieces onto your table.
However, to your astonishment, the torn paper remained intact, defying the laws of nature. You couldn't help but feel a shiver of unease creeping down your spine as you approached the inexplicable phenomenon.
With a mixture of disbelief and curiosity, you read the message again, finding new words written elegantly on the paper, urging you to stop trying to destroy it and come talk to this mysterious figure named L.E.
Skeptical yet intrigued, you chuckled to yourself at the absurdity of the situation. Were you seriously considering meeting a stranger in the forest based on a bizarre message? Despite your doubts, a nagging feeling urged you to investigate further, curiosity tugging at your resolve.
…
…
Eh, why not. You’ve got nothing else to lose.
You folded the paper and stuffed it in your shoe, making sure it didn’t escape. You grabbed a new set of clothes and changed into them, grabbing a bag and a sword just in case. You looked back at your house and sighed
“Well, this might be it, big guy. Thanks for keeping me warm and safe. Hopefully you’ll do the same for another person.” You said as you went on your way.
You weren’t sure where this was going to go, but a part of you was excited to finally get out and explore…even if it meant endangering your life.
-time skip-
After a trek of about an hour, you arrived at the designated area, encountering minimal obstacles along the way. As you waited by the old house, anticipation building with each passing minute, you scanned the surroundings, hoping to catch a glimpse of your mysterious correspondent.
“I see you got my note,” a feminine voice cut through the silence, startling you. Reflexively, you drew your sword, ready to confront the unseen presence behind you, only to find yourself instantly thwarted.
Your eyes widened in disbelief as you beheld an older woman effortlessly holding your weapon with just two fingers.
“That’s quite enough of that, my dear. Your weapons pale in comparison to my abilities,” she declared with an air of authority.
“Who are you? And what do you want from me?” you inquired, your voice tinged with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension.
She chuckled softly. “Straight to the point, just like your ancestor, Atlas.”
“What?” you queried, your confusion mounting. She regarded you with a quizzical expression.
“You mean to tell me you don’t know who I am?” she asked incredulously.
You shook your head at her question about your knowledge of your family history.
“Oh dear…your parents must not have taught you anything then…especially not about your family history. Well, I guess I’ll have to fill you in. But first, let’s relax with some tea. It’s quite soothing,” she suggested, conjuring a teapot out of thin air and pouring a warm, fragrant brew into a cup.
“How did you-“
“Tea first, questions later,” she interrupted gently, offering you a cup.
You hesitated, but her calm demeanor put you at ease, so you decided to take a sip. The tea was surprisingly delightful, its smooth flavor calming your nerves.
“Nice, isn’t it?” she remarked with a soft smile.
“Very…” you agreed, taking another sip.
“Now, let’s talk about why I’ve asked you here,” she continued, pouring more tea into your cup before launching into her tale.
“My name is Lady Eleanor. And I'm here to be your guide.”
“Guide? For what?” you inquired, taking another sip of the soothing tea.
“For your destiny, my dear,” she replied, her tone serious but kind.
“Destiny? What do you mean?” you asked, intrigued.
“You, my dear y/n, have a significant role to play,” she explained.
“Role? What role?” you pressed, feeling a mix of curiosity and apprehension.
“You are meant to become the next guardian of a powerful force,” she revealed.
“Guardian? Of what?” you questioned, trying to grasp the magnitude of her words.
“For a unique and potent element,” she answered cryptically.
You sat in silence, absorbing her words and contemplating their implications, as she began to unravel the ancient history of your lineage and its connection to a remarkable element created thousands of years ago.
“Let me take you back to ancient times, nearly 30,000 years ago, when your ancestors forged a rare and powerful element. Among them were seven siblings, each endowed with a unique elemental vision. Scarlett wielded the fiery pyro vision, Evelyn mastered the Anemo vision, and Willow possessed the aqueous hydro vision. Ezra commanded the earthy geo vision, Axel harnessed the electric power of electro, Rowan controlled the frosty Cryo, and Atlas, the youngest and bravest, was attuned to the verdant Dendro.” She began
“Together, these siblings maintained harmony in the world, training others to wield elemental powers and fostering a utopian society. They worked in harmony, each contributing their elemental gifts to sustain peace and stability. In times of cold, the pyro wielders brought warmth, while hydro wielders nurtured the land with water in times of drought.”
“But envy and malice lurked in the heart of one man, Elias. Fueled by jealousy, he sought to claim the siblings' accolades for himself. Learning the secrets of pyro, hydro, and geo, he launched a devastating assault on the siblings, systematically defeating all but one.”
I stared at her, intrigued in all of this new information.
“Atlas, determined to protect his kin, merged the remaining visions, unwittingly creating a new element—Light. This act of courage and sacrifice marked the dawn of a new era, as evidenced by the emblem you received in the letter from me.”
She finished.
“This is the Light element, the pinnacle of elemental power. Atlas wielded it to not only control light but also to command the other elements, a feat that saved the world from certain chaos and destruction. Elias, his adversary, stood no chance against such unimaginable power. After his heroic deed, Atlas was revered as the almighty Archon, worshiped by all, though he sought only to protect and defend against evil. His lifespan extended significantly due to his newfound abilities, allowing him to safeguard humanity for centuries.”
"Centuries? Really?" You asked incredulously.
"Indeed," Lady Eleanor confirmed. "His descendants inherited this gift, passing it down through generations. But after the 10th host, the pattern ceased. The desire for the Light element waned, and subsequent hosts failed to master the seven elements. Now, you, y/n, have the opportunity to revive this legacy, to honor your ancestors and make a difference."
You were stunned by her words, feeling overwhelmed by the weight of such a monumental task. "Learning all seven elements!? It’s hard enough learning just one! I can’t do that!" you protested.
Lady Eleanor scoffed at your hesitation. "Of course, you can! Your ancestors did it, so why can't you?"
You faltered, struggling to find a rebuttal. "I...because...you..."
"No excuses. We must start training before it's too late," she insisted, gently nudging you forward.
"Too late?" You echoed, feeling a mixture of apprehension and determination settling in.
She turned to you with a grim expression.
"Every 1000 years, a new host is chosen... but that's because Elias' darkness resurfaces every millennium. Hence, these past millennia have been so tumultuous."
"I thought you said Elias was defeated!?" you interjected.
"He was defeated... but not his darkness," Lady Eleanor clarified. "You see, when a wielder uses their abilities for evil, their minds become corrupted by the elements. It's a matter of being one with the elements, using them for good, or being consumed by them. Elias, in his pursuit of power, created a new element—darkness. His malevolent magic endured beyond his demise, choosing a new host every 1000 years and taking control of their mind. And with each passing millennium, it grows stronger. This darkness drives people to commit unspeakable acts, and if it were to overpower the light element... well, the consequences would be catastrophic."
"But what about the 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th hosts? Didn't the darkness defeat them?" you inquired, but she shook her head.
"For the darkness to truly triumph, it must vanquish the light element physically. As there hasn't been a true light elemental host in millennia, the darkness hasn't had the chance to prevail. However, with you as the new firstborn of the l/n family, you're the chosen one to confront this darkness. But we must commence your training now, before it's too late. The darkness typically doesn't manifest until a few years later, so time is of the essence. Are you in?"
You gazed at her incredulously. "How do I know I can trust you? I don't even know you personally," you challenged.
"I am Lady Eleanor, your trainer, tasked with preparing you to become the next host for the Light element," she affirmed with a smile.
"Yeah, but how do I know you're qualified to be a trainer? How do you know what to do?" you pressed.
She smiled knowingly. "Fight me, and you'll see," she proposed, prompting you to balk.
"No way! I'm not fighting an older woman like you! It's unethical!" you protested.
Suddenly, a gust of wind knocked you off the log you were perched on.
“What the hell!?” you exclaimed, as Lady Eleanor smirked.
“Come on, fight me. Or are you too weak? Just like that boy told you yesterday,” she taunted, causing your eyes to widen.
“How do you—”
“I’m well acquainted with everything happening around these parts, my dear. After all, I call this place home,” she explained, her smile widening.
“Now, are you going to fight me? Or just stand there looking pretty?” She said, making you frustrated.
“Alright, let’s see what you’ve got,” you replied, determined not to back down from the challenge.
You lunged at her with your sword, only to find a massive rock materialize between you, denting your weapon.
“My sword!” you cried out in frustration, glaring at Lady Eleanor.
Undeterred, you charged at her again, but she effortlessly disarmed you and swiftly countered your moves. Despite your efforts, you found yourself face-planted on the ground, feeling a mix of embarrassment and determination.
Lady Eleanor extended a hand to assist you to your feet, her expression softened with understanding. "You're too slow and too consumed by negative emotions," she advised gently, her voice carrying the wisdom of experience. "Inner peace is key, even in the midst of battle."
As you regained your footing, her words sank in, reminding you of the importance of maintaining a clear mind and calm demeanor, even in the face of adversity.
"I have been everyone's trainer besides Atlas'," Lady Eleanor continued, her gaze reflecting a mix of reverence and nostalgia. "He was the one who trained me... for I am the second holder of the light element."
Her revelation about being the second holder of the light element left you speechless, your eyes widening in astonishment.
“Show me then!” you demanded eagerly, hoping for a glimpse of her power.
But Lady Eleanor shook her head regretfully. “I cannot. Once I had my children, I made the choice to relinquish my light vision to be with them. It was a decision between keeping the light element or keeping my family.” she explained
“You chose what was most important to you?” you queried, seeking reassurance.
She nodded solemnly in response, her sincerity evident in her eyes.
“How do I know you’re not lying?” you pressed, your skepticism surfacing once more.
In response, Lady Eleanor lifted her wrist, revealing the luminous symbol of the light element engraved upon it. Its brilliance spoke volumes, validating her words without the need for further explanation.
“When a new holder for this element has succeeded in obtaining the gift, a symbol is engraved in their wrist for eternity. This is how you can trust me.” She said
You gasped in realization, finally grasping the authenticity of her words. “You… you really are telling the truth!” you exclaimed, a mix of surprise and relief flooding through you, making her roll her eyes in amusement.
“I’ve only been trying to say that about a hundred times,” she quipped with a hint of playful exasperation. Then, extending her hand toward you, she posed the ultimate question, “Are you in? Or are you out? The choice is yours.”
You hesitated, contemplating the weight of the decision before you. Did you truly want this responsibility, with the fate of humanity resting in your hands?
But Lady Eleanor’s reminder echoed in your mind: “Remember… a real warrior never backs down from a challenge. Are you a true warrior?”
With a newfound determination burning within you, you looked up at her and met her gaze squarely. Without a moment’s hesitation, you reached out and clasped her hand firmly, resolving to prove to yourself and everyone else that you were capable of far more than they ever imagined.
“Let’s do this.”
-back with Ajax-
It had been weeks since Ajax had last seen y/n. He felt horrible for what he said…but a part of him didn’t as well and that just made him feel worse. He had tried to reach out to you, but you never responded to him. He decided to go to Jean to see if she knew what was up with you.
*****
Ajax's frustration boiled over as he questioned Jean. "You and y/n are practically sisters! How can you not know where she is?"
Jean met his gaze, her tone gentle yet firm. "And you've been best friends with her since birth, Childe." She replied, making Ajax scoff.
"Then where is she if neither of us knows?" Ajax demanded, his impatience evident.
Jean paused. "Let's go check her house. I've been concerned about her too," she suggested, lying through her teeth. She rose to her feet with determination.
*****
The two knocked urgently on your door, their voices echoing through the empty house. With no response, Ajax's worry escalated, prompting him to kick the door open.
"Childe!"
"What? It could be an emergency," he defended, his concern palpable.
Inside, they called out for you, but the silence only deepened their apprehension. Their shock was evident as they surveyed the barren rooms, stripped of your belongings.
"What the hell?!" Ajax exclaimed, while Jean moved about the space.
Meanwhile, Ajax ascended the stairs to your room, his anxiety mounting. Upon entering, his heart clenched at the sight of the empty space. However, amidst the absence, one object remained—a broken picture frame. Carefully, he retrieved it from the floor, his chest heavy as he recognized the photo within. It was a picture of you and him from childhood.
"She... kept this? After all these years?" he murmured, his voice laced with emotion.
"It looks like she left it behind too... especially after you broke her heart with your harsh words," Jean revealed.
"What do you mean?" Ajax asked, confusion clouding his expression.
"Don't play dumb with me. She told me everything you said to her. And believe me, if she allowed me, I would've killed you already. But she made me promise not to, as long as she promised to pay me a visit every now and then after she left," Jean explained, her tone tinged with resentment.
"You knew she left!?" Ajax's voice rose in anger, his glare fixed on Jean.
"Why the hell didn't you tell me!?"
"Why should I? It's not like you would've cared anyways! You were a total dick to her, and I'm glad she's far away from here! Away from you!" Jean retorted, her own frustration boiling over.
“Well then why’d you even decide to come with me? Huh?”
”I don’t owe you any explanation.” She yelled back
Ajax stepped closer, his anger flaring. "You little—"
"Say it! Will it make you feel better? Especially knowing that you were the reason she left?” She yelled at him.
”You called her a nobody….said she was nothing. After everything she’s done for you….You should be ashamed of yourself, Childe" Jean interrupted, her words piercing through Ajax's defenses.
Now visibly shaken, Ajax recoiled, his hurt evident on his face.
"Now that you know everything, I'm going to leave. I don't want to see your face ever again…" Jean declared, turning on her heel and slamming the door behind her.
Ajax stared at the door, then down at the photo. He didn’t know what to feel…he was…confused. But why? He had Lumine…that’s all that mattered…right? It shouldn’t matter that you were gone…
But no matter what excuses he made for himself…he couldn’t get over the fact that he had lost you…his best friend…maybe something even more than just best friends…
Then and there is when he truly felt regret as tears started to fill up in his eyes…
”What have I done?”
