In the artsy neighborhood of Pigneto... There lively large terrace almost always packed with locals in the weekends.

This is Bar Necci.

Made famous by the Italian director Pasolini, this venue was a setting in his 1961 film “Accattone,” With press coverage and recognition from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The New York Times it’s strange that this place has not garnered snaking lines of obnoxious tourists.

Some would brand Pigneto “hipster” central like Shoreditch, London and Williamsburg, NYC. But this enclave is shared by the young and the old. Perhaps what is similar among its fans is the love for authentic Italian food.

If you ever are in Rome and sick of via del Corso, do come by Pigneto and enjoy the small lanes...

I felt Air Bnb did a great job listing this neighborhood... Sure it’s not central enough for those who want to do the traditional touring sites of Rome but if you love the air of Trastevere,  you can read more about Pigneto here.
