Additional source with more details!:
After months of fighting for a fair contract, thousands of union Disney World employees in Orlando approved a new union contract with Walt Disney World on Wednesday [March 29, 2023] that delivers wage increases for all of the theme park’s union workers and paid child bonding leave.
Out of 12,650 workers across Disney World who participated in the single-day vote (not an easy feat to arrange), 97% voted in favor of the contract.
A group of around 200 Disney World workers — or "cast members," as they're referred to by the company — at the Wyndham Orlando Resort and Conference Center in Kissimmee Wednesday night celebrated the vote.
"When we fight, we win!" the group chanted, to applause and cheers from a room emanating with high energy after a high-stakes fight.
The new contract was negotiated by the Service Trades Council Union, a coalition of six labor unions that altogether represent about 42,000 Walt Disney World employees across the parks, ranging from workers in attractions to housekeeping, transit workers, food service workers, character performers and more.
The agreement raises Disney World’s minimum wage to $18 per hour, up from $15, by the end of the year.
Non-tipped workers in job classifications that currently earn Disney World’s minimum $15 hourly rate — such as union dishwashers, as well as some of Disney’s costuming specialists, custodial workers and laundry workers — will see a raise to $17 per hour minimum, immediately upon ratification of the contract.
They’ll also receive retroactive pay equal to $1 per hour extra (a $16 hourly rate) dating back to Oct. 1, 2022, when the unions' last contract expired.
Across the board, Disney World cast members this year will see a $3 per hour raise minimum in 2023, with some job classifications seeing more. Over the life of the contract, effective through October 2026, workers will see a wage increase of between $5.50 to $8.40, with that range varying by position.
That means, by the end of the contract, Disney World will have a minimum wage that's more than double what it was a decade ago, when the minimum hourly rate for cast members was less than $10.
"It's a historic amount of money," Nicolle Mischer, a cook at EPCOT Festival Kitchens and Unite Here Local 737 union member, told Orlando Weekly of the new raise. "It's been a long hard fight, but it's so rewarding to know at the end, that we continued the fight and we continued to push the company to do the right thing as far as, you know, making sure their cast members are taken care of," she said.
Personally, as a mother who will see her pay rise $4.10 upon the contract's ratification, Mischer's looking forward to not having to work as much overtime. She has sometimes worked upward of 60 hours per week just to pay the bills.
She's looking forward to having more time to spend with her musically inclined 15-year-old, who's in marching band, symphonic band and jazz band — and to have the time to perhaps volunteer to go on their trips as they travel to play.
The raise offered in the new contract, Mischer said, will give her a chance to breathe, "not having that heavy weight of working all those extra hours."
Another new addition to the contract — not offered in prior contracts — is eight weeks of paid child bonding leave (family leave) for full-time workers, employed for at least one year, who either give birth to a child, become a parent, or adopt or foster a new child under the age of 18.
This was something Sean Hopper, an employee at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios and a Unite Here Local 362 shop steward, previously told Orlando Weekly was especially important to him...
Tiara Moton, a cook of 15 years, said that as the mother of a 3-year-old, that paid child bonding time is an amazing achievement for the unions, joking that for her, the pandemic was her "child bonding time."
"We deserve this. We worked hard for it," she said.
Tumblr media
Pictured: Tiara Moton (middle) surrounded by Disney World workers in union shirts in Central Florida on March 29, 2023.
When we organize, we win
This vote of approval on this new contract, considered a victory by union leaders, comes nearly two months after thousands of workers stood together and rejected a worse offer from Disney that would have offered just a $1 raise in the first year of the contract for many, albeit with a similar $5 increase over the life of the contract.
Although some union workers, such as culinary staff, would have seen a higher raise under that agreement, workers almost unanimously rejected it in solidarity with those who wouldn’t.
Out of 14,263 workers who voted on that last agreement, 13,650 — or 96% — shot it down.
A couple weeks after, Disney came back with a worse offer that would have offered a higher raise upfront — a $17 minimum hourly rate for those making $15 — but would have decreased the amount of retroactive pay workers would have received, earning backlash from union leaders.
The new agreement, approved by workers Wednesday, restores that back pay.
Union organizers and other union leaders in the parks have been organizing behind the scenes of the Most Magical Place on Earth to negotiate a new contract for union workers since August, ahead of their last contract’s expiration on Oct. 1...
With their new deal, Disney's cast members in Orlando hope they'll be able to spur change across the tourism and hospitality sector, which makes up roughly one-fifth of the Central Florida region's workforce.
Universal Orlando (which is non-unionized) recently announced a $17 minimum wage for its own workforce this year, and some smaller companies have also moved to offer workers something closer to a living wage.
Food service workers at the Orange County Convention Center, represented by Unite Here Local 737, also won their own historic contract earlier this year, winning an $18 minimum wage this year, up from $13.
When the STCU won a $15 minimum wage at Disney during the last contract cycle, back in 2018, that prompted other employers (including Universal) to follow suit, eventually, with their own raises.
Mischer, the cook at EPCOT, said this agreement opens the door not just in Central Florida, but across the state, and potentially across the country,  with Disney widely considered an industry leader. "I believe that other companies will see and take the lead that Disney has, you know — the steps that Disney has taken to make sure their cast members have taken care of."
"When we come together, when we unionize and organize, this is what we can do," said Henry, speaking to his fellow workers. "We are changing the future of the Central Florida. The state of Florida right now. Tonight. Don't ever forget what you've done tonight."

Cheap Flights from New York to Orlando
Cheap Flights from New York to Orlando
New York to Orlando
Orlando is a well-liked travel destination since it is the birthplace of Mickey Mouse and Disney World. The Orlando region offers an almost limitless supply of entertainment, making it the world's top family vacation spot. But even the most merry parent might need a vacation after a few exhausting days at Universal Studios, Disney World, and SeaWorld. So go out for a night on the town while leaving the kids in the care of the hotel babysitter. Downtown Disney is an adult-oriented nightlife area with restaurants, bars, and a House of Blues in a theme park setting—not a genuine town, mind you.
All three of New York's airports receive about the same amount of demand for flights to Orlando, with Newark slightly outpacing LaGuardia. JetBlue offers quite excellent non-stop service from all three main New York airports to Orlando.
How to reach Orlando from New York
How long is the flight from Orlando to New York City?
The exact in-flight duration will vary depending on your individual departure and destination airports, but direct flights from New York City to Orlando generally take three hours. Most layovers on flights take place in Charlotte, North Carolina, and might add one to three hours to your journey schedule.
Which airlines fly from Orlando to New York City?
American Airlines, United, and Delta are just a few of the well-known carriers that offer service between New York City and Orlando. Additionally, low-cost airlines like Spirit Airlines and JetBlue provide service between New York City and Orlando.
How frequently are there flights between Orlando and New York City?

Which airports connect Orlando with New York City?
LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, or Newark Liberty International Airport are the most popular departure points for passengers flying out of New York City. Newark Liberty International Airport is technically situated just across the state line in New Jersey. Orlando is served by Orlando International Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport, both of which are public airports.
The cheapest way to fly to Orlando from New York
Usually, direct flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to Orlando International Airport are the least expensive. On occasion, direct flights from LaGuardia to Orlando might be obtained at a lower price. It's easy to adjust to the nonstop enjoyment in Orlando, Florida, if you've grown acclimated to the quick pace of New York City living. Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, and SeaWorld Orlando are just a few of the theme parks you may visit, along with a number of themed food establishments, museum visits, and live performances.
The best time to buy your ticket from New York to Orlando if you want to save money is approximately 40 days before departure, making sure to fly out in the evening. Keep in mind that prices are subject to change, so it is always best to check multiple sites before making your final purchase.
Why visit Orlando?
Orlando, Florida, is known as the theme park capital of the world, and for good reason. Home to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, as well as many more epic parks, Orlando oozes fun 24/7. The destination is also known for its excellent shopping, shows, nature excursions, and so much more. Considering all of this, it is easy to see why it is a huge hit year after year with Irish holidaymakers.
Walt Disney World
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, which consists of two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, as well as four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Your inner kid will be free in Disney, a popular choice among Disney enthusiasts alike. Disney knows how to make the most of your vacation with exhilarating attractions, enchanted character parades, breathtaking fireworks displays, and lots of entertainment around every corner. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story Land are two examples of recent Disney additions, and like Universal Orlando, each of their parks is always receiving all-new attractions.
Theme Parks
Orlando is known as the world's theme park capital for a very entertaining reason. There are plenty of thrilling rides and relaxing activities in Orlando, whether you're travelling with family or by yourself.
Orlando is filled with fantastic locations like SeaWorld, Universal, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, all of which provide the greatest pleasure you could possibly desire, in somewhat different ways, except for Disney, which had to get its own mention (hint: you should probably visit all of them, just to find out which is your favorite).
Whether you choose to experience them all or simply show up for one, Orlando will provide a little taste of excitement for everyone, including roller coasters, thrill excursions, fascinating underwater worlds, and lots of parades. This is undoubtedly among the most well-liked justifications for travelling to Orlando.

They start in Magic Kingdom and as they walk through Main Street Percy and Leo want to buy every food item they see, but don’t after Reyna points out that if all they did was eat they wouldn’t get to go on any rides. Annabeth walks besides them unhelpfully telling them that the reason they’re hungry is because they pump the smell of baked goods through the street
Percy wants to start on Splash Mountain, Hazel sits out because she doesn’t like the drops and Jason stays with her so she isn’t alone and because he doesn’t love water
They make it a point to walk through Fantasyland because Piper heard the Tangled theme bathrooms were really cool and wanted to see them. While they’re there they go on the Teacups ride, which result in Percy and Annabeth aggressively spinning theirs to try to go faster than Piper and Jason (Jason uses the wind to make theirs a little bit faster)
Hazel wants to go on Smallworld, and only Frank, Nico, and Will agree to go with her because Percy claims he does not need to get that music stuck in his head. The rest of the group go on Space Mountain while they’re doing that
No one notices Nico slipping food from all their plates during lunch, nor do they notice him shadow traveling away while they’re all cleaning up. Will realizes he’s gone when he turns to grab Nico’s hand as they’re leaving, leading to a frantic search that lasts fifteen minutes
Reyna finally spots him walking towards them, leading the spirit of Walt Disney, who was really excited to see how the parks had changed since he had died
Percy insists they bring Walt on Haunted Mansion with them, having him sit between him and Nico and losing it during the mirror area where they show a ghost on the ride with you and at the end where the voice says “your ghost will follow you home”
Nico and Will leave to take Walt on a tour of the place while the rest of them visit the Laugh Factory. Leo gets chosen as the visitor who tells a joke, and gets so excited about it he accidentally melts the plastic of the bench they were on
They take Walt back to the hotel with them and he watches the new movies that were made after he died while the rest of them sleep
The next morning they go to Animal Kingdom, they start on Mount Everest, except for Hazel and Frank who walk around and look at the animals, Frank wants to learn about them to make transformations easier (and to get new ideas)
On Kali River Rapids Percy controls the water to make sure they get the wildest ride possible, the workers get confused when everyone’s soaked through and Percy steps off completely dry but they don’t get paid enough to care
Walt asks Nico to buy him some Mickey ears, leading to Percy pointing out that he couldn’t even wear them (“Percy that’s so rude!” “I’m sorry I don’t know proper ghost etiquette”)
When they go on the Safari Leo points at every animal and goes “is that your cousin?” to Frank, so Frank actually sneaks out of the truck and turns into a lion and walks right up to roar in Leo’s face to scare him, Piper cries from laughing
They leave Animal Kingdom and go to Epcot, starting on Spaceship Earth. Will sits with Reyna so Nico can sit with Walt. While they’re in line Percy overhears Nico badly explaining new technology to him and asks who let the kid who missed more history than Disney explain the modern world to him.
They go into the Coke store and Percy and Leo combine different flavors to see what would taste good together (it’s nothing)
When they go on Test Track Annabeth and Leo actually try to design the most efficient cars possible, Piper and Percy make theirs look as ridiculous as they can (theirs win)
Nico and Will (and Walt) walk around the Italy section, Nico points out things to Will that he remembers from his home from when he was little
Piper makes Jason do the Phineas and Ferb thing with her, they race Percy and Leo to see who can finish first. Annabeth and Reyna win (“not fair! We didn’t know you were playing” “life’s not fair get over it”)
On their last day they go to Hollywood Studios, no one really cares about going to the shows so they spent the least amount of time there
Leo sits out on Tower of Terror, he’s had enough of free-falling. Percy sits out with him and they go shopping while they wait
Percy buys Annabeth a book of Disney fun facts and gets himself Stitch-themed ears and a giant blue lollipop. Leo gets a Muppet lanyard for himself, a Winnie the Pooh plush for Piper and a Monster’s University cap for Jason
While they wait in the incredibly long line for Rock and Roller Coaster Walt tells them his opinions of all the new movies. He really liked the Princess and the Frog and thought the original Pete’s Dragon was one of the coolest movies he’d ever seen (he had a small selection to choose from)
They go on Toy Story Mania, leading to another very aggressive competition over the highest score. Frank wins
They go see the Muppet Vision to rest their feet, Jason and Hazel fall asleep. Walt was fascinated with the 3-D but Will and Nico had to spend the whole show taking turns holding up the glasses for him to look through
When it’s time to leave, they say goodbye to Walt, who makes Nico promise to bring him back at some point to show him more movies, and then they step into the ocean for Poseidon to create an air bubble and zoom them home

My problematic (and not wrong, yet debatable) opinion on Disney Park Rankings.
After reading this article and the arguments made on why Disney World is better than Disneyland, I feel as though they made some valid points. I do agree with the one point on hotels. Disney World wins in that category compared to Disneyland. However, in my personal opinion, I truly feel as though there are different aspects of each park at Disney World that are better or worse than the ones at Disneyland.
So for the fun of it, and to share my personal views and opinions on each one, I wanted to rank each Disney park to really compare certain aspects between the two resorts. If I could, I would rank the international parks and automatically put Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea in the top spots. However, since I have not traveled to any of them just yet, that will have to be for a different time. Though I don’t need to travel to the parks to know that the Japan parks are superior. Anyway, here is my ranking of the U.S. parks that are solely based on my opinion. (This is excluding the water parks)
6. Hollywood Studios
Tumblr media
Honestly, I’m so sorry, HS. But you kind of deserve this. Don’t get me wrong. We have our icons like Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Rollercoaster. Including new additions like Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. And I DO NOT want to see any Muppet Vision slander around here.
But HS, sweetie... You’re a mess.
Despite all the new additions to the park, and the Skyliner adding a new form of transportation for getting to the park (which is a ride experience in and of itself), Hollywood Studios is still a half-day park. At least for me, in my own personal experience.
5. Magic Kingdom
Tumblr media
Yes, Walt Disney's iconic Magic Kingdom is number 5 on my list. It is still a great park in my eyes. It is not just the "bigger version" of Disneyland, but it has its own unique features that make it different. And that is not including the towering Cinderella Castle at the end of Main Street.
Yet this park ranks low on my list for certain reasons. However, I'll only go into one main reason. Magic Kingdom's versions of rides such as Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and It's a Small World fall short compared to Disneyland's versions. In Space Mountain's case, this is because it was the first one to open before the one in Anaheim. Second versions tend to see improvements made (the same argument can be made comparing Splash Mountain at Disneyland compared to Magic Kingdom's).
Compared to the other parks (and what Disneyland makes up for in rides), I'm sticking with Magic Kingdom at number 5.
4. Disney California Adventure
Tumblr media
Just like Hollywood Studios, DCA is going through its own identity crisis. After everything that has been taken out or changed, does California in the name really mean anything anymore? We lost the Hollywood Tower of Terror, Soarin' Over California was changed to Soarin' Around the World in 2016, and Cars Land and the upcoming Avenger's Campus has nothing to do with California. Also, don't get me started on them taking away the Aladdin show for Frozen. The park's problematic history has made it for many people one of Disney's least popular parks. Though I would say because of its interesting history (DCA 1.0) and some changes, it deserves its spot on my list.
When they announced the retheme for Tower of Terror, I wasn't a fan at first. However, Guardians Mission: Breakout is now one of my favorite Disney rides. The same goes for the Incredicoaster. The rethemes are usually not welcomed at first, but Disney has shown that they are trying to improve the park in many ways.
3. Epcot
Tumblr media
Epcot is iconic and is the moment. The World Showcase is already a good argument for why it deserves number 3. One can spend a good amount of time in just one country, and it is known for the amount of food and drinks you could get here, including the festivals that run throughout the year. The park has my favorites Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, and Figment, of course. This park is a winner in my eyes. But on this list is the number 3 winner.
2. Animal Kingdom
Tumblr media
I had a tough time trying to figure out of Animal Kingdom deserved number 1 or 2. I have said before that this is my favorite U.S. park, and there are many reasons why it is considered one of the best, even being up there with the Tokyo Disney parks.
A zoo, animal sanctuary, and amusement park all in one. Along with these elements, the theming is what makes it so special for me and many others. All thanks to iconic Imagineer Joe Rohde, his vision for Animal Kingdom truly comes to life in this park. The effort to make the lands in this park come to life truly paid off. Expedition Everest and Flight of Passage are arguably two of Disney's best rides. Even getting to enjoy Kilimanjaro Safari is an experience itself. This park truly does have my heart.
1. Disneyland
Tumblr media
There really is something about Disneyland that none of the other parks can compare to. She is the smallest, smaller castle and all. Though there truly is a homey feel here. I feel this may be since Disneyland is a local's park, compared to Disney World that caters a lot more to tourists who are vacationing in the 'Disney Bubble.' There is a large AP (annual pass) culture here, so it lends a hand in that. This may be controversial, but it also seems as though the Cast Members are nicer at DL & DCA (I have met many nice CMs at Disney World). I also believe that Disneyland values quality over quantity compared to Disney World, which does the opposite. I've seen this in the rides, the food, and the experience. And Disneyland actually outnumbers Magic Kingdom in attractions. Overall, I feel more ~magical vibes~ at Disneyland and more -corporate- over at Disney World.
I hope none of you are mad or hate me after reading this ranking. Honestly, it is entertaining for me to read other people's opinions and rankings on the parks, rides, etc. Each park is a gem and has distinctive themes and features that separate them from the rest.

4 Magical Reasons to Visit Walt Disney World this Winter
Tumblr media
Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most fun and exciting places to vacation year-round, but during the winter months, there is extra pixie dust sprinkled into the park that makes guests’ trips even more magical. In this post, we’re sharing some of the lesser known perks that come along with visiting the parks during this wonderful time of year to help you get the most out of your next trip!
Holly Jolly Decor
From the second you walk through the entrance to any of our four theme parks, you will be greeted with holiday decor at every corner. With wreaths on every light pole, Cinderella’s Castle dazzling in special holiday projections, a 65-ft Christmas tree, and more, guests are immersed in the holiday season throughout the parks. This reigns true to our resorts and restaurants, as well!
Festive Shows & Parades
Throughout each day, there is a wonderful mix of holiday cheer through shows and parades in each park. In Magic Kingdom, various character cavalcades can be enjoyed, and guests will get the chance to wave to their favorite characters, and even Santa Claus himself! When Santa Claus is done at Magic Kingdom, he also appears in a promenade through the World Showcase at Epcot!
Guests visiting Animal Kingdom can see the famous drummers perform a holiday themed show, and those visiting Hollywood Studios can catch a Christmas-themed motorcade traveling down Hollywood and Vine!
Tasty Holiday Treats
A wide variety of tasty treats will be available throughout the resort for guests to enjoy. This year, one of the highlighted specials is the Let it Snow Taco at Pecos Bill Cantina in Magic Kingdom which consists of a sugar cookie shell filled with chocolate and caramel mousse! Another featured item is the Hot Cocoa flight at the ABC Commissary in Hollywood Studios.
Returning holiday specials include the Christmas Churros with Eggnog, Fa La La Funnel Cake, and Holiday Mickey Cinnamon Roll which can be found at various locations across the property. More information specifically about the 2020 Holiday Treat Specials can be found here.
Special Seasonal Activities
Alongside normal attractions, there are other activities planned throughout the parks which are specific to the most wonderful time of the year. A holiday-themed character meet and greet will be available throughout the World Showcase in Epcot and a special scavenger hunt led by Olaf the snowman will be taking place throughout the park as well. This will give guests fun tasks to complete, even when in between attractions or shows!
To learn more about Walt Disney World’s holiday festivities, or to buy tickets to our parks during one of the most magical times of the year, click here! Our cast members are ready to welcome you into the Walt Disney World Resort to enjoy all that our parks have to offer for the holidays. We hope to see ya real soon!

WDW!Cinderella is in charge of the entire WDW Resort??? I thought each version of Mickey is in charge of the entire Disney Resort, regardless of location. My guess is that WDW!Cinderella is in charge of the entire Magic Kingdom Park, since MK has her castle as the Park's icon. WDW!Tarzan is in charge of Animal Kingdom. Who are in charges of Epcot & MGM/Hollywood Studios though?
Oh, no no.  She’s got WDW.  The whole empire (and it is an empire) is hers.  Remember: DLR Mickey is the original, while WDW’s is... not.
The Parks of WDW do not have the same sort of system as DLR does.  They are not governed like that.  There is no one person in charge of Epcot, HS, and AK.  Representatives from said Park do not have a place on an overarching Council.  Epcot is the secondary Park, and has a more communal system of governing.  HS is almost entirely Villain territory.  AK is basically the Unmapped Frontier.  There are travel restrictions between the Parks.  It’s... very, very different.  But their Cinderella is The Person In Charge, yes.

Also, random, I'm also archiving all your Disney gaycation posts cause we wanna go to WDW for our honeymoon. I've NEVER been and he hasn't gone in like ten years so both of us are gonna be a bit green 0.0
aww well if you need help planning just ask!! a LOT has changed in 10 years, like MyMagic+ is the biggest thing
the best general advice i can give to ppl who are disneyland regulars in particular is to not underestimate the size of wdw. IT’S HUGE (like the size of manhattan or san francisco) and everything is so much more spread out than in dlr. for folks who are used to just walking across the street between two parks, hopping at the world is...a lot. Epcot and Hollywood Studios are the only parks you can really do that at, and that involves at minimum a 20 minute walk or a boat ride.
also because it’s so huge...there’s so much more to see and do. this is a property with 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, disney springs (what our downtown disney is now called), 2 mini golf courses, and over 25 hotels (and those are just the ones that are disney owned and operated, what we call staying “on property”). people come from the uk for 2 weeks and still can’t see or do everything on property.
so having a good plan is much more important than it is for dlr because you will need to prioritize based on you and your mans and what y’all enjoy doing. if you need help like i said shoot me a line because i live for this shit, vacation planning is my Thing in general but I’m A-type when it comes to disney in particular so i stay up on things. i can also rec my travel agent if you want to stay high end for less

2024 Disney's Hollywood Studios After Hours Guide
Between the neon glow of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard and seeing Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge all aglow, there's nothing like strolling the streets of Disney's Hollywood Studios at night. It really takes the glitz and glam of this Tinseltown-inspired theme park to glittering new heights. Add in typically shorter wait times for the park's top attractions and evening entertainment, like dazzling projection shows and Fantasmic, and it simply can't be beat. That's why we love Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you're a night owl, too, this late-night, limited-capacity event could be the perfect addition to your next Walt Disney World vacation. No matter if you're considering a 2024 Hollywood Studios After Hours event or your ticket is already in hand, this guide is for you. Keep reading as we go over all the details, including dates, hours and tickets, as well as everything that's available to you while you're there. Plus, we've even added a few event tips and tricks to help you have an amazing night. Let's dive in!
Tumblr media
What Is Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios?
Disney After Hours is an exclusive ticketed event that takes place after regular park hours, just like the new Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios or Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. However, there are some key differences, particularly in terms of the overall atmosphere and certain benefits. While Disney After Hours eventgoers miss out on the festive decorations, special entertainment, and seasonal dishes and drinks of the parks' holiday parties, the event still offers plenty of perks, like shorter wait times for popular attractions, some great meet-and-greet opportunities with Disney characters, and complimentary bites and beverages. When it comes to event highlights, Disney After Hours also has some similarities to Extended Evening Hours, a benefit offered only to guests staying at one of the deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World. However, while this late-night counterpart to Early Park Entry is offered for free to deluxe hotel guests, Disney After Hours is a separately ticketed event, which comes at a considerable cost. (We'll tackle ticket prices soon.) So, should you be booked at a deluxe resort and able to experience Hollywood Studios during Extended Evening Hours instead, it might be better to skip Disney After Hours and save your cash for other experiences. That said, if you're staying anywhere else during your visit (and you have room in your travel budget, of course), we think Disney After Hours is worth the splurge. Not only do you get three hours to enjoy some of Disney's Hollywood Studios' best rides, but as capacity is limited, wait times are much shorter (or even non-existent). This allows you to experience attractions again and again that are typically too busy or complicated to do even once during normal operating hours. And, of course, we can't forget about the delicious deal we mentioned earlier: free popcorn, ice cream novelties and certain bottled beverages are all included.
Going to 2024 Disney After Hours Events at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Excited to reserve your ticket for Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios? Here's some important information to keep in mind.
Tumblr media
Dates & Hours For 2024, Hollywood Studios After Hours events will be held on select nights from mid-January to mid-April. After-hours events will also take place around the same time at other Disney Parks, including Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Unfortunately, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is not part of the lineup. Hollywood Studios After Hours dates in 2024 include: - Wednesday, January 10 - Wednesday, January 24 - Wednesday, February 21 - Monday, February 26 - Wednesday, March 13 - Wednesday, March 20 - Wednesday, March 27 - Wednesday, April 3 - Wednesday, April 10 As you can probably tell from the name, Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios takes place after regular park hours. The event lasts three hours, kicking off at 9:30 PM and concluding at 12:30 AM. As an added bonus, Disney After Hours eventgoers also have the privilege of entering Hollywood Studios up to two-and-a-half hours prior to when the event officially begins, as early as 7 PM. Keep in mind that if you decide to arrive early (which we strongly suggest), no theme park reservation or regular park ticket is necessary. Tickets As a separately ticketed event, attending Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios isn't exactly what we'd call affordable. Ticket prices are based on which date you choose, running from $155 to $175. Given its obvious perks and popularity, as well as the limited capacity, it isn't unheard of for this late-night event to sell out. So, make sure you purchase your Disney After Hours ticket in advance if you know you want to go during your vacation. Discounts for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members and Park Savers Readers Hoping for a little wiggle room in your travel budget? You're in luck! There are a few ways you can snag a discounted special event ticket. The biggest discounts are given to Disney Vacation Club members and Disney World annual passholders, who save $30 per ticket. Although it isn't as substantial, Park Savers readers can also save up to $8 per person if they purchase tickets through our ticket partner, Undercover Tourist. Click here to buy your discounted Disney After Hours tickets today!
Tumblr media
The Arrival Process Earlier, we mentioned Disney After Hours guests have the opportunity to enter Disney's Hollywood Studios as soon as 7 PM, two-and-a-half hours before the event officially begins. This is something we greatly encourage, as it gives you a significant advantage for the night ahead. Plus, it also gives you time to take in some evening entertainment that isn't available during event hours, namely Fantasmic!, Disney Movie Magic and Wonderful World of Disney Animation. For even more time at Hollywood Studios, you can also opt to stay all day there. However, keep in mind that you'll need a regular park ticket in addition to your Disney After Hours ticket, and a theme park reservation may also be required. All Hollywood Studios After Hours guests are given an event wristband, which serves as your VIP pass to stay in the park after it closes. The process of getting your wristband depends on your arrival time. Event check-in is available at the main entrance starting at 6 PM. Should you get there early, you'll be directed to a designated holding area until 7 PM rolls around. Alternatively, for event guests who enter the park earlier in the day, there is also an in-park check-in area on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. (Just keep an eye out for blue-shirted cast members wielding wristbands.) Unlike at Magic Kingdom, where the event begins exactly when the park closes, there is a period of 30 minutes between the park closing and the actual start time of Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This allows for plenty of time for day guests to exit the park and for Fantasmic!, the park's incredible nighttime spectacular, to begin. You can either choose to enjoy this amazing show or get a head start on the night by taking advantage of the short wait times while everyone else is busy leaving or watching Mickey Mouse battle it out with some dastardly Disney villains.

Late-Night Access to Popular Attractions For many people heading to The Most Magical Place on Earth, the biggest pain point is the long lines that seemingly lurk around every corner. Fortunately, that definitely isn't the case at Hollywood Studios After Hours. Although there are several event highlights, short wait times are the best benefit of the bunch. In fact, the average wait for most attractions open during the event, with the exception of Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania, is less than 15 minutes. (Yes, that even includes Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.) Some rides won't even have a line at all, allowing you to walk on without a wait. In contrast, Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania tend to hover around 35 and 20 minutes, respectively, which is still considerably shorter than what you would experience during regular park hours. Multiple rides are available during Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios (with the notable exception of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, which is closed for refurbishment). They include: Hollywood Boulevard - Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway Sunset Boulevard - The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Toy Story Land - Alien Swirling Saucers - Slinky Dog Dash - Toy Story Mania Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run - Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Echo Lake - Star Tours – The Adventures Continue Last year, Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios also included showings of the park's two projection displays: Disney Movie Magic and Wonderful World of Disney Animation. Although that is no longer the case this year, you can still enjoy these shows if you plan to arrive at Hollywood Studios prior to park close at around 7 PM.

If you need a bite to eat, Woody's Lunch Box in Toy Story Land will be offering a limited menu during the event. Or, for those who would rather keep the fun going with something refreshing and/or boozy instead, Milk Stand and Oga's Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and select outdoor bars will also be available. We especially recommend that you take advantage of walk-up availability at Oga's Cantina. As one of the best bars at Disney World, this out-of-this-world watering hole shakes up some spectacular craft cocktails and plenty of intergalactic ambiance.

Shopping All Night Long Looking for a way to remember your late-night adventures through Disney's Hollywood Studios? While we would, typically, suggest that you spend most of your time taking multiple rides on Rise of the Resistance or Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run instead of souvenir shopping, there are a few notable merchandise outlets that are open during Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios and worth a visit if you're interested. So immersive that they're basically attractions themselves, Droid Depot and Savi's Workshop (where you can build your own custom lightsaber) tend to be extremely busy during the day. Needless to say, if you want to take home a piece of the Star Wars universe, consider taking advantage. Merchandise locations open during Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios include: Hollywood Boulevard - Select merchandise outlets Sunset Boulevard - Tower Hotel Gifts Toy Story Land - Jessie's Trading Post Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities - Droid Depot (walk-up availability) - Savi's Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers (limited walk-up reservations on a first-come, first-served basis) - The Market Merchants Echo Lake - Tatooine Traders

Tips & Tricks to Make the Most of Your Night
You purchased your Hollywood Studios After Hours event ticket. You packed your bags. Now what? Here are some hacks to help you have an awesome night and ensure you get the most out of that steep admission fee. Get to the Park Before the Event Officially Begins Rather than arriving right at 9:30 PM, take advantage of the complimentary two-and-a-half hour head start and get there at 7 PM instead. (Better yet, make it 6:30 PM so that you're all checked in and ready to go by the time the doors open.) This way, you'll have nearly three extra hours to enjoy the park before the event starts. Use this time wisely by doing things that you won't be able to do once the park closes, like catching Disney Movie Magic or Fantasmic! or having a bite to eat at The Hollywood Brown Derby. Jump in Line Until the Last Minute of the Event There's no question that one of the biggest perks of attending Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios is little to no wait times for your favorite attractions. Even better, just like during regular park hours, you can continue to join the queue up until right before this special event ends. So, if there's a ride you've been eyeing that has had long waits all evening, like Slinky Dog Dash or Toy Story Mania, simply save it for last. Then, jump in line at the very last minute. You only need to be in the queue by 12:29 AM to go on. Plan Out Your Priorities Having a plan is the key to success for any Walt Disney World vacation, and that includes Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios. Would you rather go on rides that require a long wait or Lightning Lane access during normal park hours, or would you prefer to maximize your night by going to your favorite attractions again and again? Are there any rides that you absolutely cannot miss? Whatever you decide will be your guide. Consider starting with your must-do attractions and then filling in the gaps from there, avoiding unnecessary backtracking to save time as you go. Consider Fueling Up on Dinner Beforehand Sure, you could indulge in unlimited ice cream treats, popcorn and bottled drinks throughout the night. (After all, nothing hits the spot in the late hours quite like a Mickey ice cream bar.) However, your stomach might not be too happy with you the next day. As there is only one Read the full article
