Trash Festival SAVE THE DATES: December 8th through 14th,2019. At @thewoods1826 Performance on 14th a week-long Trash Festival to reflect on the current changing social and environmental climate --popular uprisings, indigenous resistance, the destruction of the natural world, locally and globally. Inspired by principles of permaculture: Care for the Earth, Care for the People, and Fair Share, we invite artists, community organizers, and neighbors, of all ages, to meditate on and with trash. What is it? What is its potential? Where does it come from? Where does it go? We want to explore the concept of trash, and its unfortunate use as a manipulative stamp on things, ideas, and people by a dominant culture and powers that be. Calendar Sunday December 8 12-2pm - Opening Trash Outing. Outdoors Ridgewood/Bushwick 2-4pm - Moving with Trash Workshop / Opening Ceremonies. The Woods Monday December 9 1-3pm - Trash Outing. Outdoors Ridgewood/Bushwick Tuesday December 10 1-3pm - Trash Outing. Outdoors Ridgewood/Bushwick 6:30-8:30pm - Trash Costume Workshop. The Woods Wednesday December 11 1-3pm - Trash Outing. Outdoors Ridgewood/Bushwick Thursday December 12 1-3pm - Trash Outing. Outdoors Ridgewood/Bushwick 6:30-9pm - Panel and Open Discussion. The Woods Friday December 13 1-3pm - Trash Outing. Outdoors Ridgewood/Bushwick 6:30-8:30pm - Trash Art Installation Workshop. The Woods Saturday December 14 8pm - Trashion Show, Movement and Music Performance, Dance Party. Closing Ceremonies.
