i will never stop thinking about the fact that kris dreemurr, protagonist of one of the biggest and most influential indie games of all time, is openly and undeniably nonbinary/gnc. not nonbinary to be singled out, not nonbinary because they're non-human/non-living, not nonbinary to show that they lack personality... just nonbinary for the sake of being nonbinary. and they're the main protagonist!!! it's so cool

and the fact that they're treated the same as everyone else for it and it's not a huge deal to anyone. the fact that everyone in that game, no matter how opposed to them they are, never misgenders them. never finds it weird. never sees them as lesser than for it. kris is in fact seen by many as an important person to be respected; a hero

i knowwww people say this stuff all the time and it's such a small thing (kinda) but god it really does mean the entire world to have representation like this

While you are celebrating Pride, here, a father, according to himself, killed his 17 years old son ( or trans daughter) for shaving his legs. ( And femininity)

And although in Iran the punishment for a murderer is death, this father was only sentenced to one year in prison. Which is surprising.

Because In Iranian law, patriarchy is such that if a father kills his child, he will not be punished. He only has to pay ransom. And this is written in Article 220 of the Islamic Penal Code.

And the most disturbing point is that no media informs the true identity of the victim. I have no idea if they were a trans woman or a gay man. I just know I can strangle their father with my bare hands.

to sum up SOME of the things happening in Argentina:

There's a nation wide manhunt for Loan, a toddler that disappeared in Corrientes (province that has borders with Paraguay, Brasil and Uruguay, three neighboring countries). Foul play has been suspected from day one. The family is believed to be involved by some people. The most popular on going theory is that he was sold to an international pedophile ring dedicated to buying kids from Latin American countries and selling them to people in power in the USA and aligned countries.

The court case connected to Tehuel, a trans young man that disappeared while going to a job opportunity he was offered by a local semi-political figure he was supposed to be able to trust, has been reopened. It is heavily theorized that this political figure, plus his partner and an accomplice, tortured and killed Tehuel for being trans. (There is a strong online theory that they fed him to the pigs after to get rid of his remains. Another popular theory is that they sold him to a human trafficking ring.)

The ex first lady, Fabiola Yañez, and ex president, Alberto Fernández, are in an ongoing legal battle after she was more or less forced to come forward and press charges against him for physical and psychological abuse. A lot of it was perpetrated while he was in office during the pandemic. He kept her locked up, isolated, and publicly blamed her for the things that went wrong during his presidential mandate. Unfortunately the media is having a field day with the pictures of Fabiola beaten up, basically showing off her bruised face and body while zooming in on the injuries. Fabiola had to come out and ask them to please stop showing those pictures as they are effectively re traumatizing her and her son.

Current president, Javier Milei, has effectively altered the employment contract law, taking away things that were meant to protect workers from corporate/employer greed and abuse. He has also effectively closed down the statal, official, ways to get in contact with authorities in case of gender based discrimination and abuse.

Current ruling political party (far right) is pushing forward a denial of facts and attempt at retelling our history by more or less saying that the last military dictatorship wasn't that bad, trying to pardon their sentences (even though the ones in charge of kidnapping, torturing, and disappearing people are living well while serving their sentences). A delegation met with one of the most heinous figure heads of the last dictatorship. A person from said delegation alleged it's old history and that people born during the 90s don't know and don't care about it.

Fuckin hate that ppl are using ava tyson as an exuse to be transphobic. Yes she did awful shit but that doesnt mean u can say that all trans people are pedos or misgender them. Im so tired of transphobia man.. not every trans person is a pedo. Not every trans person is a bad person. There are weird people no matter what gender, ethnicity, etc they are. I think it's so funny that I gave Lila , Marinette , and Adrien a bond and that it's through the fact that they all recognize each other as liars. They all looked at each other and went "oh you're a liar too" and then proceeded to help each other lie better because in Lila's words "a snake recognizes a snake"

I'm Chem, he/she (this blog is a safe space for all trans&genderqueer ppl!). I'm an American of Chinese descent (mixed-race) and I am... not fluent in, but know Mandarin -- PLEASE send me things to translate, I've seen mid translations float around this fandom for ages, and even people saying that usage of typical Chinese punctuation like title markers is a "weird symbol coincidence", UGH!

Anyways, I've actually been a turtle since... late 2022? I've gone through a few cycles of completely putting the interest on hold and then becoming completely obsessed again. My whole path to turtledom is funny and I'll probably post about it later regardless of if anyone wants to hear about it lol. I'm a Devil's Timeline believer -- still figuring out which one though.

I recently joined 小红书, also looking at 🐢 stuff there :) Absolutely willing to interface with c-turtles, though honestly I recommend getting your own 小红书, it's fun. Oh, and I'm a total atheist -- any spirituality stuff like the compatibility prediction thing is just a fun coincidence to me (though I will admit that is a really sweet coincidence -- still, I do not believe in any spiritual dimension to reality). In general, I try pretty hard to be logical about what I believe, but that doesn't mean I don't clown around!

I don't tolerate racism, fetishization of East Asians (or anyone else but that's what's relevant) including exotification&mystification of our cultures, the fetishization-homophobia-sexism of obsessing over gay men's sex positions, misogyny sexism and homophobia in general, transphobia (including and especially towards ppl with uncommon or "weird" gender identities), and don't be weird about mixed-race people or atheists. And I'm against generative AI.
