Not really a good writer but whatever. bit out of character maybe.
(Some aidlyn food for the soul)
Bail
"Aiden, I'm gonna fall again!"
"You're not gonna fall, be confident!"
"Alright- I'm confident I'm gonna fall off this stupid thing!"
Ashlyn flapped her arms, desperately trying to regain her balance. She couldn't believe she'd let Aiden rope her into learning how to skateboard- she'd fallen on her ass more times than she could count in less than an hour, and she was pretty sure her tailbone was starting to bruise. At the very least, the skatepark was totally abandoned, so there were no witnesses to her repeat failures. Besides Aiden, of course.
She felt herself tilting forward, squeezing her eyes shut and raising her arms to block the fall, but it never came.
"Ah, gotcha!"
She blinked slowly, still disoriented from the sudden movement. Aiden's hands were tight around her elbows, the tip of his shoe jammed between the wheels. He smiled at her, the sunlight bouncing off his hair and his white teeth making him look even more boyish than usual. "Almost face-planted there, haha."
His head was inclined towards her, making his face a little too close for her own comfort. She looked away, her knees shaking. "You couldn't have caught me all those other times?"
"I didn't think you'd fall that much! You're so good at everything, I thought...", he trailed off, eyes flicking to the ground. "Sorry, we can stop the sesh."
Something bubbled up in her chest, indignation, maybe, or her own wounded pride. "No, actually, I think I'm getting it, let's keep going."
He stared at her, in a very particular way that almost made her feel transparent, like he was calling her bluff, like he could see right through her bullshit. "Are you sure? Your arms are kinda..."
She was pale, and she bruised easily, but the mottled skin was partially hidden by her freckles. "I'm fine. I've got a helmet."
It wasn't her helmet, but Aiden never wore his anyway. If she was going to keep this up, though, she should probably invest in a new one. There was a dent in the back, and she didn't really want to wear a helmet that had "Brain Bucket" scrawled on the side.
"Well, alright...do I need to explain it again?"
She thought about the time Aiden had told her he'd cracked his skull when trying to do an acid drop and wondered if the problem lied not with her, but her teacher. "Mm...yeah, if you don't mind."
He took her hand -a little spark running up her fingertips at the contact- and helped her off his board. "Right, so first, pick your stance. You seemed to prefer regular, but you can try goofy too, that's how I ride."
She couldn't help but snicker. It was so like Aiden to ride his board in the most uncomfortable looking way ever. "Hm! Regular is fine."
He nodded, helping her up, his leg out in case the board shot out from under her feet and shot off to crash against a rail. Which had already happened. Twice.
Easy...just relax and balance yourself.
She let out a shaky sigh, and to her delight, she was only slightly unsteady. "Hey, I'm-!"
She clamped her mouth shut when she felt Aiden's hands settle around her waist. "Try to align your feet over the trucks."
The only trucks she knew were the kind you drove, but she shifted her weight around, watching Aiden's face, until his eyes brightened and she assumed she'd gotten it right. She was finding it hard to concentrate, Aiden was a touchy guy, sure, but he'd never just grabbed her waist before. His fingers felt cold, even through her tank-top, even in the summer heat. Her cheeks slowly colored, a pretty shade of rose, which was mercifully hidden by her sunburn.
He laughed, a mischievous-looking smirk spreading across his face. "There you go! Did you just need me to hold on to you?"
He made it sound stupid and flirty at the same time, and she fought the urge to push him away because otherwise she was going to eat shit again. Her pride did not overrule her own tolerance to pain. "Whatever, shut up."
He let go of her waist, before quickly latching one hand on her arm. "Okay, so- don't tiptoe, I've seen you do that, you keep losing your balance like that. Put your weight on the front part of your feet."
Force of habit. Maybe it was too much ballet.
Slowly, very slowly, she pointed her left foot frontwards, the right firm against the deck. Aiden tentatively untangled their fingers, only the pad of his thumb brushing against her knuckles. "That wasn't too hard, was it?"
Smartass.
She scowled at him. "You can't talk too much, Mr. I-broke-my-arm-doing-an-airwalk."
He just laughed even more.
She scoffed, pulling her hand away from his. She put her foot against the asphalt to push herself forward. "See? Easy as-!"
The board shot forward, knocking her off her feet. "GAH-!"
"Ash!"
Aiden rushed forward to catch her, seizing her wrist and tugging her towards him. He tumbled backward as she crashed into his chest, hitting the ground with a dull thud. "Agh- shit...!"
She moved her hand to rub her head, only to be met with the hard plastic of the helmet. Well, now she knew why it was called a brain bucket- it felt like the organ was being rattled around in her skull, like a pile of shells or stones in a child's pail.
"Ash-! Are you alright?"
She let out a groan before opening her eyes, immediately started by the blood red of Aiden's contacts being so close to her. They were very close. She could see all the little details that she usually never paid any attention to- the almost purplish color to his skin around his sunken-in eyes, a lock of black hair curling over his ear, the only survivor of his constant bleaching, even the scar on his chin from playing with a pocket knife.
And his mouth. His mouth was extremely distracting.
"Um, Ash? Did you get a concussion or something?"
You want to kiss him.
The realization hits her with a dull terror.
Oh, crap, I want to kiss him.
Not even her sunburn can hide the mortifying shade of red that spreads across her face, and her hands are a poor substitute. She mumbles incoherently into her palms, her skin tingling from the heat radiating off her skin.
"Ashlyn...? I...What's happening right now?"
"..."
"...I...Can you say that again?"
I'm gonna kill him.
"...you...hh...mouth..."
Making sentences is hard.
"Did you hurt your mouth? Should I check it?"
Imagining Aiden touching her lips, his eyes roving carefully for any cut or bruise, makes it almost a thousand times worse.
"...!!!"
She peeks at him between her fingers, big forest-green eyes gleaming, almost magnetically drawn towards his own mouth. He follows her gaze, before stopping abruptly.
"Oh."
Oh, indeed.
"...Ash, would you let me...?"
He sounds so earnest. It makes her stomach feel weird, like there's a gaping maw inside her, or a hive full of crawling insects. Nothing pleasant like in the movies, unless butterflies in your belly were supposed to make you throw up.
She nods.
"Um...it's a little hard with your hands on your face," he says, not unkindly.
She closes her eyes, because she feels like she'll lose any semblance of bravery if she looks at him, and lets her arms hang loosely by her sides.
First, she feels the exhale of his breath on her lips, and then, a very soft, slight pressure on her mouth. Somehow, it feels exactly like a kiss, and yet, nothing like one. She doesn't respond, because she doesn't know how. The experience is quite neutral, made positive-leaning by the fact that it's Aiden that is kissing her.
Then he pulls away. "Um...sorry, I'm not really good at this stuff..."
Her eyes flutter open. He looks flustered, a pink hue bleeding into his cheeks.
"I mean, I've done it a few times, and every time it was super awkward-"
She purses her lips into a flat line, arching a single brow.
"-! Not that this was awkward or anything! I liked it- I mean, if you liked, I liked it-"
She watches him dig himself deeper into this hole of his own making.
"...I gotta teach you how to bail."
"...what's that?"
"A way to step off your board safely when you mess up a trick."
"But I don't know any tricks."
He sighs, runs his fingers through his bangs. "I know, but if you keep falling off and into me, I might spend more time kissing you than teaching you."
A small smile curves her lips. Well, one of those things interests her far more than the other, but he doesn't need to know which is which.

Undead Unluck ch.217 thoughts
[All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth]
(Contents: narrative analysis - Sphere, character analysis - Fuuko/Tatiana, predictions - arc aftermath)
Sphere
Aww, I was wrong about Clothy...at least for now. He'll definitely come back later and might still end up befriending Tatiana, but as it stands, making Sphere transparent and project holograms as outfits is a pretty clever choice!
My only issue is that this method effectively removes the iconography of Sphere, as visually there's no difference between this and seeing Tatiana in her barrier normally aside from the fact that she has clothes now. She does still need Sphere to act as her arms, though, so it's not completely without purpose, but I think the same effect would be achieved with an updated interpretation of Untouchable, like using soul manipulation to shape her barrier into outfits outside of combat and Sphere during combat
That's definitely still doable in the future once Tatiana awakens to her soul, so either this is a stopgap until then or Tozuka has different plans for Tatiana's upgrade. Either way, it's a fun and elegant solution that gives us the best of both worlds, both letting Tatiana be visually accessible to the cast and audience while not totally eliminating Sphere's functions
In the context of the chapter, having the Union summon Sphere to suppress Untouchable also seems like a pretty necessary narrative choice too, as it would be unreasonable to assume Tatiana would gain such an unprecedented level of control over Untouchable so quickly. What L100 Tatiana used to hide herself from others to protect them, the Union of L101 uses to protect her from that fate, allowing her to safely show herself to others, even if they haven't found a way for her to touch them just yet
I think the fact that Tatiana doesn't already know what Sphere and Untouchable are help that feeling of being protected by the Union, as she doesn't have the memory or context of what her opinion on Sphere used to be. She has no preconceived notions of Sphere's significance, good or bad, allowing her to form a new and unique view of it as the Union's way of preserving her dream
Fuuko's Resolve
This certainly isn't the biggest factor as to why Fuuko didn't use Remember ahead of time, but I think it does speak to her reasoning. Fuuko wanted this Tatiana, the Tatiana who dreamt of becoming a model, to be the one to walk down the runway. By using Remember, this Tatiana would still technically be the one with that dream, but she would also be the Tatiana who didn't. Nico was always "the Nico that loved Ichico," so there was little need to worry about a discrepancy between L100 and 101, but the two Tatiana's have different wants, so dredging up memories of a time when she didn't want what she wants now could have had a detrimental effect on the her of today
L100 Tatiana wants to defeat God; for herself, for Billy, for Fuuko. That is a given. But L101 Tatiana wants to be a model and doesn't know anything about God or UMA or Negators. Without priming her to understand those concepts first, there's no telling how suddenly being forced to remember them all at once would shift her priorities. Worst case scenario, the context of needing to defeat God to get rid of Untouchable might have taken such precedent that Tatiana would have given up on the fashion show entirely, even if she didn't lose the dream itself
We've covered this multiple times by now, but this is the same basic reason why Fuuko never wanted to use Remember on any member of the Union before now, so that they could sort out their priorities and wants on their own and choose whether remembering the past was necessary to building the future they want. She wants the L101 Negators to want to fight God so that they would be able to accept their memories as a part of themselves, to bridge the gaps between who they are now and who they used to be. The more aligned their desires are with themselves, the easier it will be to accept their pasts when Remember is finally used, and I think Tatiana is one of the better examples of that concept
I really feel like I don't have a ton to say about this chapter since it's mostly reiterating things I've said in a lot of the L101 arcs. Even Fuuko allowing herself to be hurt by Untouchable to demonstrate to Tatiana her resolve and faith in her friend is reminiscent of allowing herself to be turned into a book by Autumn for Gina or face Void head-on without using her ability until Unavoidable activated. She never forces anyone to be her friend or to be on her side, she just acts as a friend to them and facilitates their ability to do what they want. Sure she gets hurt, but she has absolute faith that things will be okay because of her friends, and in turn gives them that same faith in her
This is how Fuuko became to L101 Tatiana what Andy was for her and Billy was for L100 Tatiana, by accepting her for who she is and showing her a path of hope through reliance on others. Tatiana may not be able to touch people now, but Fuuko won't let that keep them apart, a point she makes explicitly clear both by breaking her nose and teeth against her barrier and by slamming face first to embrace the invisible Sphere later. Fuuko loves this Tatiana as much as the last one, and she needs her to know that so that this Tatiana can decide whether she loves Fuuko back without being influenced by her past self
Hm...in a sense, I suppose that makes L101 a parallel to Fuuko and Andy's relationship, doesn't it? L100 was Fuuko falling in love with Andy (and by extension, the rest of the cast), and ended with Andy's decision to make an honest effort to legitimately fall in love with Fuuko. Now, Fuuko is traveling around to gather all of her friends who have forgotten her and making them all fall in love with her one by one, which will ultimately culminate in a direct love confession from Andy. Not sure how I didn't notice that parallel until now, but I'm glad it sank in sooner than later!
Predictions
Now, a lot of folks are saying that this is the end of the Untouchable Arc and the recruitment section of L101, but honestly I don't think we're quite done here. Like I said the last couple of weeks, Tatiana's birthday is coming up in a few days, so we're either going to get a bit of a breather chapter to set up where we're going next OR we're going to get a sudden visit from either a Master Rule or Ruin
I'm personally hoping for a breather, as that was the main thing I found the Unchaste Arc to be missing. Tatiana's birthday party is a great opportunity for her to have a character moment where she learns a way to reinterpret Untouchable, as her inability to even hug her parents is still pretty cruel given the circumstances. Some hope for her future in this timeline would be a nice emotional cap to this arc that would help raise the stakes for the next one, I think
If absolutely nothing else, I think we need some more time to establish a relationship between L101 Tatiana and Billy, since he didn't have any clear personal reason to participate in this mission. It was nice to see him happy that Tatiana was okay and make a goof out of himself, but that emotional connection isn't there yet when we really need it to be to feel that catharsis
Sadly, we'll have to wait an extra week to find out thanks to Obon, but at least that means Tozuka will get a bit of a break. Perhaps he needs a breather just as much as our cast does, huh?
Until next time, let's enjoy life!

trick or treat!
Something darker for those chilling Halloween nights... Hope you enjoy Slade and Tim caught up in some predicament bondage, of sorts 💙
⚠️ Warnings for mutual non-con, torture, and non-consensual drugging.
The choice seemed easier, when it was just a concept.
Tim watches the pink liquid climb higher, up the length of the cannula, and disappear beneath the gauze stuck to the top of his hand. He sucks in a sharp breath, even though he can't feel anything yet, and tries to calm his racing heart.
"What will it be for you, Terminator?" the voice asks from the speaker box. Slade answers it with a growl, and Tim swallows harshly at the thick scent of rage in his nose. "If you don't choose," the voice sing-songs, "we'll choose for you."
"Trick," Slade bites out, and Tim feels him jolt when the collar around his neck lights up. It makes Slade shove forwards, and Tim topples over with the force, scrambling to keep himself from faceplanting into the soft mattress beneath them. The motion brings with it a wicked spark of pleasure, and Tim feels a wash of guilt at getting off on Slade's pain.
He can feel the heavy wash of Slade's breath on his neck as the alpha struggles to recover. Tim's lost count of how many hits Slade has had now. He's taken a few himself, partly out of curiosity, and partly to slow the compounding effects of the drug being steadily pumped into his system. Tim's hoping, if his calculations are decent, that the aphrodisiac won't fully saturate his bloodwork for another half hour. It doesn't make the clock feel any friendlier.
"Let's make this more interesting," the speaker box suggests. Tim's fists clench in the sheets, head dipping as he summons his resolve. "What's your choice, Robin?"
Tim does the maths, and comes up with the same choice. "Treat."
Nothing comes up the transparent piping. Tim stares at his cannula for the longest moment, until, behind him, Slade's snarls.
"Your turn, Terminator."
"I'm going to fucking kill you," Slade vows, and the snap of his teeth at the back of Tim's neck makes him shudder all over. Slade reigns in his temper enough to growl, "Trick."
Tim's not sure why it takes him so long to work it out. Maybe his calculations were wrong. Maybe the drug is affecting him more than he realised.
It doesn't make much difference when Tim's neck lights up in a ring of fire.
He screams, the cuffs keeping him pinned on his hands and knees pulling taunt against his skin. It hurts, and Slade is bellowing something at the speaker box. Tim wants to fold into the mattress and cry.
The burning stops, but Tim's throat feels scoured raw, inside and out.
"That choice wasn't for him!" Slade is shouting, at no one and nothing. His hands are fists in their cuffs, nails hitching into the sheets like claws. Tim can see them where they bracket his own, the metal rods between their wrists keeping them both aligned. Joined, Tim thinks, in more ways than one. "You sick bastards!"
The speaker box ignores him. "You're up again, Robin. What will it be this time? Trick or treat?"
Tim feels weak. He feels nauseous. He doesn't want another dose. He doesn't want to be electrocuted more.
"Treat," he answers, resigned.
"Let's double it up this time!" the speaker box announces gleefully, and Tim whines at the sight of the pink liquid climbing up the piping. Tim wonders if Slade feels as nauseous at the sight as he does.
Slade is panting again, knees shifting in discomfort where they're braced over Tim's. Every roll of his hips grinds his cock deeper into Tim, his knot tugging on Tim's walls.
"It's double jeopardy, Terminator. What's your choice? Trick? Or Treat?"
Every second Slade hesitates feels like another nail in Tim's coffin. He's not even sure which he wants Slade to choose. He desperately wishes they could talk about this, strategize, come up with a plan. But Slade has said barely a word to him since they woke up in this compromising position, and Tim doesn't think he's likely to get chatty soon.
"Terminator—"
"Treat," Slade bites out, and Tim can't hold back his groan.
It's mirrored by Slade, as Tim watches the aphrodisiac dose him up again. He feels hot all over, his skin too tight. Every shift of his hips sends sparks ricocheting through his stomach. Every clench of his thighs makes him see stars. The itch of drying slick on his skin is slowly driving Tim insane.
"I can't take much more of this," Tim mumbles, just loud enough for Slade to hear. A warning and a plea.
"Robin looks like he's enjoying himself a bit much — what a naughty little bird," the speaker box chastises. Tim shudders all over, and the moan that breaks free of Slade's lips doesn't sound pained at all. "Let's help him out with a controlled shock."
Tim braces for the pain. It doesn't make it hurt any less. It doesn't make it easier to deal with either, and after a few seconds of live-wire agony, Tim is back to screaming again.
"Please," he whimpers, when the aftershocks fade. His cheeks are wet, and Tim buries them in the sheets. "Please."
"I think we went a bit hard on him, Terminator," the speaker box is saying.
"Kid," Slade murmurs above him, voice cruelly soft. Tim doesn't lift his head.
"I'll give you a chance to help him out. Robin says he likes his treats. If you make him come, I'll let him off for this next one."
"Go to hell," Slade snarls, but Tim stirs enough to push himself upright.
"Do it," he rasps, tilting his hips back into Slade's. Even that small adjustment makes him moan, pleasure thrumming through his drugged veins. "Just do it."

I definitely have a general understanding that most/all celebs, especially ones who have spent an inordinate amount of time in the public eye have likely gotten procedures, invasive or not done. I have no illusions that celebrities are naturally beautiful. Like aside from plastic surgery, they get their teeth fixed, their brows done, skin/hair treatments, etc. I just really hate how specific and invasive a lot of talk about surgeries is.
Especially those videos dissecting *every* procedure a celeb has gotten done. A lot of people defend those on the basis that transparency is good for normal people to not think it's natural, but I don't think we need to constantly analyze people's faces and bodies to recognize that what makes them look beautiful and me look normal is money!
Idk, the way that online pop culture spaces talk about beauty and aging in general bothers me. Like so we are all supposedly progressive and believe that beauty and youthfulness don't mean goodness and that someone is more deserving of whatever, but most people do not act that way. There's a kind of enjoyment that comes with "calling out" cosmetic surgery, but a reinforcement of the norms and standards that lead to them.
I wish I could post this 100 times because AGREED WHOLEHEARTEDLY. There is absolutely an obsession with shaming: For visibly aging, for getting surgery, for not openly saying you got surgery. There is a very pervasive believe IMO that the only good beauty is natural beauty but if that beauty doesn't align with very narrow beauty standards then you should fix it surgically and then pay your dues (acknowledge that you succumbed.) And this all revolves around the idea that physical beauty - which, again, is limited by very narrow racist and classist beauty standards - is essential for respect, success, etc.

Recommendations for the Most Hi-Tech Braces in Greeley
Recommendations for the Most Hi-Tech Braces in Greeley https://comfortdentalbracesloveland.blogspot.com/2023/09/recommendations-for-most-hi-tech-braces.html   In recent years, orthodontic technology has made remarkable strides, revolutionizing the way we approach teeth straightening. If you're considering braces, you may be interested in the latest hi-tech Greeley orthodontics options available. 1. Clear Aligners: A Discreet Solution Clear aligners have gained immense popularity due to their discreet nature. These transparent, removable trays gradually shift your teeth into their proper positions. The technology behind clear aligners allows for a more comfortable and virtually invisible orthodontic experience, making them a preferred choice for many patients. 2. Self-Ligating Braces: Reduced Friction, Faster Results Self-ligating braces utilize advanced mechanisms that reduce friction between brackets and wires. This not only results in less discomfort but also accelerates the teeth-straightening process. Patients can expect quicker results and fewer adjustments, ultimately saving time and reducing the number of office visits. 3. 3D Imaging and Treatment Planning Modern orthodontic practices often employ 3D imaging technology to create precise treatment plans. These detailed images allow orthodontists to map out the entire treatment process with accuracy, ensuring the best possible results. 4. Accelerated Orthodontics: Speedier Outcomes Accelerated orthodontic techniques, such as High-Frequency Vibration (HFV) and micro-osteoperforations (MOPs), can significantly reduce treatment time. These methods stimulate bone remodeling, expediting tooth movement without compromising overall oral health. 5. Digital Impressions: Say Goodbye to Gooey Molds Traditional dental impressions involve uncomfortable molds filled with putty-like material. Today, digital impressions use advanced scanning technology to create highly accurate digital models of your teeth. This eliminates the need for messy impressions and ensures a more comfortable experience for patients. These advancements have not only improved treatment outcomes but also enhanced patient comfort, making the journey to a straighter smile more accessible and convenient than ever before.

Factors Affecting Retainer Costs in Australia: What to Consider
If you're wondering, "How much do retainers cost in Australia?" or "What factors influence teeth retainer cost in Australia?" – you're not alone. Many people seek orthodontic treatment to achieve that perfect smile, and retainers are an essential part of the process. In this article, we'll delve into the various factors that can affect retainer costs in Australia and provide you with valuable insights to help you make informed decisions about your orthodontic journey.
Tumblr media
Understanding Retainers
Before we dive into the factors that influence the cost of retainers in Australia, it's crucial to understand what retainers are and why they are essential. Retainers are custom-made dental devices designed to maintain the alignment of your teeth after orthodontic treatment, such as braces. They prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions, ensuring that your smile remains beautiful and functional.
Factor 1: Type of Retainer
The type of retainer you choose plays a significant role in determining the cost. There are generally two types of retainers:
1. Hawley Retainers
Hawley retainers are traditional, removable retainers made of acrylic and wire. They are the more cost-effective option compared to other types of retainers. Hawley retainers can cost anywhere from $200 to $600 in Australia, depending on various factors like location and orthodontic practice.
2. Clear Retainers (Essix or Invisalign Retainers)
Clear retainers are discreet, transparent aligners that fit snugly over your teeth. They are more aesthetically pleasing but tend to be more expensive. The cost for clear retainers typically ranges from $400 to $1,200, again depending on factors like location and the complexity of your orthodontic case.
Factor 2: Orthodontic Practice Location
The cost of retainers can vary significantly depending on where you live in Australia. Major cities like Sydney and Melbourne tend to have higher prices for orthodontic treatments, including retainers, due to the higher cost of living and operating a practice in these areas. On the other hand, regional areas may offer more competitive pricing. It's advisable to explore options in your local area and nearby cities to find the best deal without compromising quality.
Factor 3: Complexity of Your Orthodontic Case
The complexity of your orthodontic case can also influence the cost of your retainers. If you've had extensive orthodontic work, such as correcting severe misalignment or bite issues, your retainers may require more customization and adjustments. This can lead to a higher overall cost.
Factor 4: Additional Services
When considering the cost of retainers, remember that some orthodontic practices may include additional services in their fees. These services can include follow-up appointments, adjustments, and replacement retainers if needed. Be sure to ask your orthodontist about what is included in the quoted price to avoid any surprises down the road.
