Because Alm's birthmark is depicted on his hand in Echoes, at first, I instinctively translated the novel to match. ...However, Ozaki-sensei very clearly uses the word "arm" when describing its location on his body. And it didn't click that I was doing something wrong until I got to book 2, and there's a whole piece of art that was made to show exactly where it is on his arm.

One of the tricky parts of translation is to not let your brain turn on auto-fill!! You're never too good or experienced not to do it.

(I'm mostly making this post so I can remember later to go back and fix book 1's translation.)

...I also just learned that the localization translates aza to "Brand." That might be something I go back and change, too. I really should have read the localized Echoes script and taken detailed notes before I started translating the novel, lol.

Today's to-do-list is daunting

Already cancelled a coffee date with my parents. I asked if we could do it tomorrow instead. They probably want to visit the Christmas market, too, so it would take longer than just getting a coffee.

I should have more time for that tomorrow

My parents had to take their dog to the vet, anyhow, but it seems like the fact that I cancelled made them go there. My mum has a tendency to wait those things out, so my cancelling the coffee probably was a good thing.

Apparently the dog has a tummy ache, doesn't want to eat. He got some meds and now they just have to wait things out...

I got done with work for today much earlier than I expected. Used the free time to finish baking the cookies. Have to wait for them to cool now. I want to send them to friends, so I still need to take care of that.

I also quickly cleaned the wash basin and the shower, and I'm halfway through making the bed.

But now, I just want to have a tea and a break.

managed to get so much stuff done: finished making the bed, put the kitchen back in order, cleared the dishwasher, and put away clothes. It's so relaxing when things look nicer, but it's always hard to get going.

Also did some work from tomorrow's batch.

Had some time to wind down.

Still some things to do tomorrow before my winter break, but things are looking good.

Well, Book 2 / Chapter 2 of FE2's novelization being roughly 1/3 of the book on its own, kinda destroys the purpose of me alternating its translation with FE6...

But I was already halfway through translating Chapter 2 by the time I realized this, so I just powered through, lol.

This realization will not change the upload schedule at all, as I was able to keep up my regular novel translation pace. I can really feel how much better I've gotten as a translator since I started FE2 Book 1!!

I put him in hl2 hope that's alright lol. Hl1 is his brother's territory I decided. Mostly I wanted him to beat the shit out of a metrocop :)

He'll probably be fine. He's survived his life so far including one end of the world and his nerd brother's mad science antics. What's a little more of the same old bullshit?

I was just gonna do one or two doodles cuz I couldn't think of much. But then i was having fun :)
