IV’s (hopefully) final ref. She’s still with the Rescuebots, Ratchet is more like her dad. I’m just going with my own au that Cybertronians can just make more of themselves.

Basic Backstory:

IV is a medbot made by Ratchet before the Cybertronian war, originally made to be an assistant who can help with minibots or with bots that need smaller hands for their medical needs while also being sturdy and strong enough to carry or pull bots bigger than her. She’s an exceptional medic due to Ratchet’s training and is very proud to call him her creator. They have a close father/daughter dynamic.

When the war between Optimus and Megatron began, IV followed Ratchet into being a field medic for the Autobots. She would later leave his side to be a part of another medic group protected by autobot soldiers and seekers. IV has and always will have a strong moral duty to her vow she took as a medbot to do no harm, and she believes that turning one’s back when you have the power to help is harming. This belief lead her to repair even Decepticons if she found them wounded on the battlefield, much to the dislike of some of her fellow medics.

It was while she was helping a Decepticon while a fellow medic and friend watched that she received a serious injury. An undetonated missle in the con went off, seriously injuring her face in the process. Her fellow medics abandoned her as Decepticons began bombing the city they were in, which left IV with abandonment trauma.

Optimus Prime’s forces would come and push the cons back, with Ratchet being one of the medics sweeping the battle area to see what emergency signals were being broadcast until he reached a familiar signal and finds IV barely online. He is horrified to find her in such a state.

Ratchet would bring IV back in to repair her, giving her facescreen prosthetic in order to show her emotions. He would help IV throughout her healing process and she would return to working by his side for a small time before eventually being reassigned to Rescue Force Sigma-17 as their medic.

Their Rescuebot would later be forced to go into prolonged stasis in space until their ship picked up the call to come to Earth from Optimus, where they have been assigned to work with humans in a small town.

IV now works with her human partner, a paramedic named Alex Burns, to attend to Griffin Rock’s medic emergencies.

Personality:

IV is soft, gentle and caring, not wanting to hurt anyone even through words, which is surprising to those who know that her creator is Ratchet. She’s a people pleaser, especially to Ratchet, and her trauma has made that quality become even more insecure to the point she doesn’t think she has much value.

Despite the war and what she endures, she will always be a medbot who wants to help anyone in need.
