rape ment / not a huge fan of debates from reactionary atheists who joke about mary lying about cheating or being some sort of first century slut, and then making up a story about god appearing to her to hide the truth because like. that's a girl. that's a child. that's a peasant girl under the age of sixteen. if you take that story at historical face value and agree that the mythological aspect is simply not real, then suddenly this is a story about a girl who was almost certainly raped, cannot remember what happened to her, and tells a story that an angel appeared to her and impregnated her. and that is the basis of christianity. christians also do not like to talk about this and i have also sat in the camp of mary's consent was predetermined, but i've also grown enough as a christian and a theologian to recognize how fucking depressing this story is. maybe the story of christ is one that begins and ends with a miracle, or maybe it's one that begins and ends with being brutalized by men.

I was the only transmasc mental health professional in my state. Now I am bedbound and too ill to advocate for us.

During my studies I found that the smallest thing can keep someone from hurting themselves. Like seeing another queer person, locking eyes across the grocery store isle, and exchanging a knowing smile.

Perhaps one of my stickers will help a fellow trans person hold on for one more day. Perhaps it will just make a bigot feel sad.

like god some people are obsessed with whether you’re a Vagina Trans or a Penis Trans and if you’re nonbinary they’re like “okay! we will assume!” and like this isn’t exclusive to any “group” of trans people I'm not happy with people categorising my experiences as transmasc or transfem based on what they assume is in my pants regardless of which one they choose or if it’s to paint me as an evil Other Trans or the safe Same Trans. i'm neither. it’s an issue with the whole trans community and it sucks. being asked to centre your entire identity on whether you’re a Vagina Haver or a Penis Haver is fucking weird. (not to mention excluding intersex people!!!) and whenever anyone brings it up they’re like “oh so you hate transmascs and or transfems?” like NO?? i do not hate a group bc i would like to not be forcibly categorised under one without my consent solely going by whether people think I have Vagina Energy or Penis Energy. i can relate a lot to both transfem and transmasc experiences but i'm neither of them. no matter what’s in my pants. when did the trans community get so obsessed with what’s in your pants it’s fucking wild.

Every explanation for queerphobia in the west that doesn't blame Christianity as the main reason it exists, ends up positing that queerphobia is either hardwired into humanity, or that it's good for society. If you do not understand the religious and specifically the Christian origins of queerphobia you end up coming with explanations that make out queerphobia as inevitable unchangeable parts of society, which is inherently support of queerphobia.

Either you side with Christianity or side with queer people. It's one or the other.
