Reposted from @birthbecomesher - It’s been really difficult to find images of trans birth and I think it speaks to a larger issue within the birth community, inclusion. I realize the trans birth conversation is just beginning but read these words by @badassmotherbirther ✨ I’m still searching for images so tag BBH if you have something I need to see! . Reposted by @rushesandwaves for the #birthbecomeshertakeover πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ . We cannot change birth if we fail to include every single birthing person. It’s hypocrisy. ✦ π„π•π„π‘π˜ ππˆπ‘π“π‡πˆππ† 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 πŒπ€π“π“π„π‘π’. π„π•π„π‘π˜ ππˆπ‘π“π‡πˆππ† 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐒 ππŽπƒπˆπ‹π˜ π€π”π“πŽππŽπŒπ˜. π„π•π„π‘π˜ ππˆπ‘π“π‡πˆππ† 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐒 πŽπ”π“π’π“π€ππƒπˆππ† 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 π–πˆπ“π‡πŽπ”π“ πƒπˆπ’π‚π‘πˆπŒπˆππ€π“πˆπŽπ. π„π•π„π‘π˜ ππ‘πŽπ•πˆπƒπ„π‘ 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒 π“πŽ πˆππ‚π‹π”πƒπ„ 𝐀𝐋𝐋 ππˆπ‘π“π‡πˆππ† ππ„πŽππ‹π„. ✦ #Repost @refugemidwifery . What a sweet pregnant belly shot with two expecting dads @equineboy21 . Trans people can (and DO) use their bodies to create pregnancies and birth healthy babies. As awareness about #transbirth is growing, we're also seeing #transmen and #nonbinary pregnant people using midwives and having home births at rates far higher than the general population. This is DEFINITELY true in my practice, where almost 1/4 of my clients identify as trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming. . Why use midwives? Because the #midwivesmodelofcare offers: -Continuity with one or a few providers that get to know you, your family, and your preferences *this reduces chances of discrimination* -Individualized care -Time to include partners in care -For #homebirth - knowing and trusting everyone who will be apart of your birth -Providers that are more likely to act as advocates . Midwives and doctors can make simple changes to their language, documents, office decor and care to provide affirming #reproductivecare to trans people. And guess what, making your practice #transaffirming will benefit ALL of the pregnant people that you serve! - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/BzK6uB7AljG/?igshid=tq1kytervk4

As a Doula I support all Birthing People! #everyonedeservesadoula #transbirth #beautifulbirth
trans people can and do have biological children
t4t couples can and do have biological children
the narrative that we are infertile, incapable, and unwilling to have children is a lieΒ
trans people often face discrimination in adoption opportunities, and we need to normalize the idea that people like us do have our own biological children
transfem people/trans women/other non-gestational parents can induce lactation and feed their children
transmasc/trans men and other gestational parents can find trans affirming healthcare, even in obstetrics. there’s a growing number of lgbt doulas and midwives trained to help affirm the gestational parent’s wishesΒ
intersex trans people can also have children - and we often face a doubled-down narrative that we are infertile and shouldn’t attempt to have childrenΒ
polyam trans couples also have a broader range of gestational and postpartum opportunities for raising children, or even multiple monogamous trans couples co-parenting/co-gestating with shared resourcesΒ
if you are a trans person who wants to have bio children, there are spaces out there for you, there’s a community of trans parents and trans people who are trying to conceiveΒ
