I was rewatching Batman Beyond (great show, highly underrated) the only context you need for the show is that this is in the not so distant future l, Bruce is an old man and passed to torch to a new kid named Terry McGinis. It got to the episode that really got me thinking. Not in a philosophical way or anything but just in a “humanity would 100% do this if they could” sort of way. The basic premise is that theirs a new type of body altering fashion trend. Theirs people in the show that try to justify it as basically being a tattoo and others outright saying that logic is completely bullshit. It’s called Splicing. It’s a gene lab that cracked the code on splicing DNA for immediate and near painless transformation to the body using animal DNA. It doesn’t need to be the whole body as one girl altered her eyes to have green cat eyes. However theirs some that went full body basically becoming anthro animals, a guy that became part snake, another became part bull and a different one became part hyena. Naturally the guy in charge of this was evil and the side effect of this was increased aggression.
However that’s not what I want to focus on. Instead I want to focus on the concept of Splicing itself. Theirs tons of people who would 100% be on board for this if it was possible myself included. Having claws and fangs sounds badass. Plenty more would be willing to go all the way and become hybrids being half human and half whatever other animal. At the same time plenty of concerned adults in the show were against this. With Terry’s little brother wanting to get spliced and his mom saying no. When asked why she’d be against it since she has a tattoo she says “the difference is that I don’t have antlers growing out of my head”
Excluding the obligatory evil plot it’s a pretty good examination of theoretical Trans Humanism. I’m confident it’s going to be a thing if we make it that far as a civilization. Theirs plenty of usefulness in the technology and it’s cool looking besides but there would naturally be concerns from others seeing people willingly leave behind their humanity and become something objectively not human.
It’s an interesting thought and one that’s crossed my mind. If Splicing was real would any of you want to do it? If so how would you want to be spliced, full body, only small features?

Artificial intelligence can only learn that which has already been learnt by our divine intelligence.
It's only the quality of divine intelligence to discover that what has never been learnt. It's only the nature of divine intelligence to evolve.

Have you ever wondered how Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution came to be? Delve into the mystical origins of natural selection and reveal the ‘missing link’ between its creators and their devout occult religious beliefs. Discover how the roots of evolutionary biology extend deep into the ancient Mystery religions. Not only that, but this belief is so ancient it has widespread implications regarding some monumental historical events such as The French Revolution and The Age of Enlightenment. This documentary traces the origins of the esoteric quest of transhumanism, or humans evolving into higher beings, back through the 14th century to various secret societies, and even further than that to the first false promise ever sold to humanity, ‘ye shall be as gods’.

I want a smooth, genderless steel chassis. With four arms and several vision modes and an inbuilt wifi router. And an attached cat basket. If that makes me trans, then I don't want to be cis.

Right, considering the current state of corporate politics on this site, and that it seems that only those affected seem to be actively speaking on the matter, this needs to be dragged out to a wider audience.
This extends to refusing to believe in bogus call-out posts for frankly minuscule thinks such as being horny or kinky, especially if the target is presenting in an ‘unconventional’ manner, (therians, etc.) this double standard where it is seen as ‘degenerate’ for transfemmes to merely exist in certain spaces, yet everyone else is fine to do so is disgusting and part of the reason for the backlash.
PUTTING TERFS DNI IS NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL, YOU GENUINELY HAVE TO PUT YOUR MORALS OF BEING RESPECTFUL INTO PRACTICE.

REBLOG IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS A TRANSFEM SAFE SPACE.
We need to show these higher ups how much we truly value them.
Edit 1: Changed the wording of the post and decided to put in a reminder.
Edit 2: Further Re-iteration on the wording and format edits.

Book Reviews #10 - The Invention of Morel by Adolfo Bioy Casares
"The Invention of Morel" is a somewhat rushed tale (it tells instead of showing sometimes), but it tackles a theme that makes it the most important story of this century and perhaps the next.
The plot revolves around a man who, on an island, discovers a group of people living in an infinite loop, only to realize that (spoilers) they are merely recreations of people from the past. Imagine being able to record everything that happens in a place and then see those recreations in 3D, not only walking where one once walked but also possessing physical matter, so one can touch them. They cannot interact with the real world, as they are just part of the projection in the recording. Morel poses the question: "If a copy of Madeleine is made, does the copy have her soul? When all the senses are gathered, the soul emerges. Madeleine is there for sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch—there is Madeleine."
Beyond the pseudo-immortality Morel creates for his friends, his declaration is unsettling. One might think The Invention of Morel is purely fiction, but it isn’t. We can already record people—not quite at Morel’s level, but through voice, videos, and so on—and it’s the illusion these recordings create that's dangerous. I’m not saying that keeping a photo of a loved one is wrong, but how often have we clung more tightly to the image we have of someone than to the person themselves? To a version of them that existed before and now only remains in images? In the story, once people are recorded by Morel, the originals die. How often do we look to the past with nostalgia, holding on to memories? When an artist changes, we criticize them, relegating them to comparisons with their past recordings. And now, with artificial intelligence, we can create new recordings out of thin air. We’ve seen covers of songs by deceased artists, and things will continue to advance until every sense is captured.
In the coming centuries, our definition of humanity will change. What worries me is the importance we place on recordings instead of on the living person. Beyond the idea I have of myself and what the text I write conveys, I am a being of flesh and bone, one that exists in the present.

dear americans,
as a polish queer woman and human rights activist, i know exactly how you're feeling right now and what to expect from these elections. i lived through the 2015-2023 regime of pis, a right-wing populist party that divided families in the same way trump did. i’ve experienced the rise of fascism in poland, the influence of far-right parties like konfederacja, and their “santa’s little helpers”—ordo iuris, an ultra-conservative catholic organization (banned in many countries, mind you) that helped enforce a near-total abortion ban and runs anti-queer campaigns in public spaces. i supported the black protests in 2016 as a middle schooler when they first tried to ban abortion. as an adult, i actively participated in the 2020 women’s strike, running from police tear gas daily after they finally passed the ban. i supported friends who faced charges.
i’ve lived through intense homophobia in poland as a queer teen and adult. i survived the first pride march in my hometown, where far-right extremists threw stones and glass at us. i endured the anti-queer propaganda spread by the ruling party in state-owned media. i survived the “rainbow night,” poland’s own stonewall moment in summer 2020, when police arrested around 50 queer activists following the arrest of margo, a nonbinary activist. i survived the "lgbt-free zones," the targeted violence, the slurs from strangers on the street, and the protests i held against queerphobia. it was hard as fuck, but i survived.
but just because i survived, it doesn’t mean others did. many women died because of the abortion ban—marta, justyna, izabela, dorota, joanna, maria, and many others who didn’t survive pis’s draconian anti-abortion laws. milo, kacper, michał, zuzia (she was 12), wiktor, and other queer and trans kids and young adults took their own lives because of the relentless queerphobia.
despite all of this, our experience in poland can serve as a guide now. here are some tips for staying safe and how we, polish queers and women, organized under the regime:
safety first, always. if you know someone who’s had an abortion, no you don’t. if you know someone is trans, no you don’t. if you know people who help with safe abortions, no you don’t—at least not until you know it’s 100% safe to share. if you are queer or have had an abortion, only share this with people you trust fully. most importantly, not everyone has to be an activist just because they’re part of a minority. if it feels unsafe to share that you're queer, trans, etc., then don’t. it doesn’t make you any less queer.
use secure, encrypted messaging like signal for conversations on potentially risky topics, such as queerness, abortion, organizing counter-actions, protests—anything that might be used against you.
stay anonymous online. if you want to research or report something without surveillance, do not use regular internet. get a vpn (mullvad is affordable and reliable), download the tor browser (for both onion and standard links), and if you plan to whistleblow, consider using a riseup email account.
organize and build networks. community is everything now. support each other, foster independence, because your government won’t have your back. set up collectives, grassroots movements. create lists of trusted professionals—lawyers, doctors, etc.—who can offer support.
to lawyers and doctors: please consider pro-bono work. this is what got us through poland’s hardest times. your work will be needed now more than ever.
for protests or risky actions: always write a pro-bono lawyer’s number on your arm with a permanent marker.
get to know the anarchist black cross federation and other resources on safety culture: "Starting an anarchist black cross group: A guide"; Still We Rise - A resource pack for transgender and non-gender conforming people in prison; Safe OUTside the system by the Audre Lorde Project;
for safe abortion info or involvement: get familiar with womenhelpwomen.
stay radical, stay strong, stay informed: The Anarchist Library
if i forgot to (or didn't) include something, don't hesitate to reblog this post with other resources.

we all understood that two people undergoing the same training at the same intensity for the same amount of time would achieve roughly the same result regardless of agab?
Uh... no? I mean, the thing that matters isn't "agab", it's primarily hormones. But it's pretty straightforwardly the case that testosterone has a massive effect on muscle growth.
This should be obvious from the fact that it's one of the primary ways people cheat at sports.
That's not to say there's zero overlap between cis male and cis female ranges of strength, even without bringing HRT into things. (In most sports, HRT seems to me or less eliminate any advantage after a few years, although obviously some effects like height remain.) The OP is totally correct that some people think this and it's false.
But it's equally false, maybe even more false, to claim there's 100% overlap and the only difference is motivation.
Here's a graph comparing grip strength in gen-pop men, gen-pop women, and female athletes.
Tumblr media
The average man is not more motivated to train grip strength than the average female athlete.
