See, I like the idea of villain kaminari but also like...no I don't because I want him to have all that same energy but fight it, i want to see him fighting tooth and nail in secret to not cross over, i want him to be villainous without being a villain, I want him to agree with the villain ideology and way of thinking but still come out the other side a hero, I want him to not betray his friends, I want him to fight the worse parts of his nature and I want goodness to win out in him, I want the lesson to be that it's okay to have darkness within you, I want the character i most relate to to tell me that I can feel the darkness growing inside of me and still manage to be a good person in spite of it, I want to see a complex character fighting himself and never quite getting rid of the darkness but being a hero anyway and willing it away when necessary, I want him to tell me there isn't anything wrong with feeling like a bad person sometimes.

I know I could have picked some sort of big scene to illustrate, but idk man, I felt like going from the beginning even if it doesn't seem like much is happening. Trust me when I say this is the best Traitor Kaminari fic I have ever read. My initial plan was to do the whole first chapter but then I realized I didn´t have infinite time so have these 8 pages instead!

Bakugou

He thought you’d be the one but here he was on his knees as you stood above him and his friends bruised and battered as the LOV raided the school killing anybody they could. “Was it all a lie Y/N?” he grunted as you pressed your foot harder into an injury from earlier in the battle. You laughed, staring him straight in his eyes as you did, easily mocking his feelings for you “Of course it was fake, didn’t the way I let in my friends show that enough?” you asked in the same voice he used to adore. You’d expect him to be pissed but really he’s devastated and flooded with regret to say the least.

Todoroki

He didn’t understand at first, he thought maybe you were doing this against your will but you quickly knocked that notion out of him as you held him in place making him stand there as his closest friends where beaten down “You’re a good guy Shoto, too bad you just didn’t see it sooner” you whispered from behind him cousin him to grit his teeth, he was pissed and internally kicking himself for letting this happen.

Deku

Probably the most guilty of them all. He was supposed to be All Might's successor yet he couldn’t tell there had been a villain in their midst all along. He’d been dating a villain. He’d told you all about All Might and himself including things about his quirk that he’d never told anybody else. Secrets he was supposed to take to the grave with him had been revealed during the darkest of nights. You’d study his notebooks and send every inch of information to Shigaraki and the others. He and his fellow classmates never stood a chance.

Denki

He knew he didn’t understand a lot, and that he’d missed usually concerning signs during your relationship. He knew you’d keep secrets but he didn’t think you’d do something like this. He never thought you would betray him and his friends like this. Like Shoto, he thought maybe, just maybe, you were doing this against your will and that you did still love him but like Todoroki he also got that idea beat out of him.He hates that he managed to act as your cover for so long but sometimes, when he’s all alone in the dark of night he still misses you.

It drives me mad how the hints to Kaminari's potential Villain family/connection to AfO are getting less and less subtle, yet the chances of an actual reveal or utilization of that are near fucking zero at this point because so much other stuff is going on.

Okay, I finally watched the Kaminari Traitor Theory video I've been seeing everywhere and I have THOUGHTS

I feel like the positive negative charge idea can still work even if he's not the traitor, yknow? Like, imagine he has this whole other side he's been keeping in check this whole time, that's so fucking cool

He's not a villain or a traitor, but he is a bit of a...villain sympathizer. As much as he thinks it's bad he just GETS it and he can't help but feel for a lot of villains even if he's still gonna defeat them.

I like to imagine it as kind of a breaker switch! His negative side is like when the breaker in your fuse box flips and the lights go out. Positive side is in control but maybe he uses his quirk too much or something or just for whatever reason (maybe strong emotions? Bad emotions? Does there need to be a reason? It always feels like the breaker in your house flips for no reason anyways) and this kind of sociopathic bad guy side pops out and Denki has to just flip the switch back as fast as he can to get back to normal. He's pretty good at keeping it under control, it's not hard to flick the switch back, but the negative side...it's still there, it's always there

It's really just a second drawback to his quirk, but this one...he doesn't want anyone to know about it. They could think he's a villain, he can't have that. There's nothing wrong with having quirk drawbacks but this? This is one thing he'll carry alone until he dies......or until he's forced to reveal it to his friends.

Personally, I dislike how everyone always makes fun of kami when he short circuits. Like. For the sake of this, imma just say to him, it feels like heavy dissociation and we’re running with that for now

Soooo, he joined the lov after being found in this dissociative state and they made sure he was safe and comfortable until he was grounded again

Toga thought he was adorable

Kaminari is a little weary of them all at first, but toga explains her quirk and her background and he just kinda 🥺💙😤

Toga is the first to explain what’s going on. She’s just so bubbly and extroverted and excited to have someone her age to talk to

And he’s so nice!

They’re both such bright lads

They’re so supportive when the other is feeling bad about their quirk

Kami makes a bunch of really bad good blood related puns to try and get toga to smile (“I am O so positively in love with you” “you can’t B negative about this one” etc)

Toga always makes sure to have safe foods that kami feels comfortable eating when he’s short circuited

They both make the most wonderful of puns relating to each others quirk.

How do I know this? Because the eyre both full of whimsy and whimsy loves puns, and puns are the highest form of comedy.

The first time toga made a pun about electricity, kami just 👁👄👁 and then he knew he would die for this funky fresh nerd

The number of times toga has gone about saying some shit like, “I don’t know watt you’re talking about” in the middle of lov meetings has driven shigaraki to madness

Dabi is driven to anger when he is on the receiving end of the onslaught of puns these two have, but he so enjoys watching shigaraki rip his hair out

Shinsou, toga, and kami would be such a trio. They’re protective of their people in their own rights, but when paired together, the world won’t know what hit it

VATER pt 2 update!!

Ok wow that was a longer hiatus than I initially intended but I can now OFFICIALLY say that the planning for part two of VATER is finally done and I'm really happy with it :)

I can't promise anything for at LEAST the next month or two but I do have every intention of getting back into writing for it as soon as possible and going back to my regular schedule of a chapter a week (along with some art). HOWEVER for my own sanity there will probably be a few mini hiatuses here and there so I don't get too swamped at any point in time :)

I can't wait to start posting again though! ALSO expect more animatics I've got several ideas for some throughout the thing and I will be working to improve the quality of them I have found a better program to do them on (honestly reediting the ones I did previously isn't off the table either those kind of don't look the best but we'll see)

I'll see you guys soon with the first chapter of VATER pt 2! At the moment, it's working title is "Sins of His Name," or SOHN for short.
