Super Nicktoons Ultimate Fan-Made

After Nickelodeon Animation uploaded their Smash Bros. X Nicktoons poster for their Smash Tournaments, almost every Smash character was represented in some way... except a few. I began to wonder what the other Nicktoons characters would look like as the missing Smash characters, so I will be making illustrations of what I think the other Nicktoons characters would look like as the other Smash characters. These are all the entries that I have done so far.

Mystery the Seahorse (Yoshi)

To start with, I made Mystery the Seahorse from SpongeBob SquarePants into Yoshi. SpongeBob as Baby Mario was added because I thought it completed the pic.

Really Really Big Man (Captain Falcon)

Here we have Really Really Big Man from Rocko's Modern Life as Captain Falcon. I used a combination of the line tool and normal hand made line art to give the drawing the same line quality the original and movie had.

Timmy & Chloe (Pokemon Trainer)

This is the biggest entry in this series with 5 separate characters to draw. It was fun trying to learn the Fairly OddParents style and, as of now, this is when I had to look up the most amount references for this entry. What do plants look like in this show? What about backpacks? What do dragons look like? How about their fire? Does Sparky have a color for when he transforms into an object like Cosmo, Wanda and Poof? (from what I've seen no he doesn't). At least I can rest easy knowing I'll never have to draw this many characters for an entry in this series at once again.

Gil & Molly (Inklings)

Now we have Gil and Molly as the Inklings! I wanted to get this during the month of May for MerMay 2022, not the tail end of it, but hey that's procrastination for you.

Kai-Lan (Min Min)

Fun Fact, I actually thought about using Mr. Ping from Kung Fu Panda (specifically the Nickelodeon series: Legends of Awesomeness) because he works at a noodle restaurant, but I decided to use Kai-Lan from Ni Hao, Ka-Lan instead.

SwaySway & Ketta (Steve & Alex)

The reason I chose Breadwinners was simply because of the various mining scenes. I also tried going for that "Fake Video Game" look you seen on cartoon. You know what I'm talking about, when you watch a cartoon and see footage of a video game but it never looks right. Apparently video games in the world cartoons are only 8-bit arcade games. I think i've only seen a few exceptions.

I'm Lynda! I'm 35 years old and bigender, going by she/her he/him.

Born the 31st of January.

I research legendary pokemon in my off time, chasing legends and rumors about new ones. I find them very fascinating!

Sparky the Pup

Oh, Sparky? Yeah he's been my pup for almost a year now. He's been really well trained. The trainer said he's never seen someone accept the conditioning so willingly and enthusiastically.

Humanity? Goodness no, that's all gone. Inside he pretty much thinks he's a Golden Retriever. He's certainly got the excitement and energy to be one anyway. Just like a Golden, Sparky loves to run around the park with the other pups and of course he loves a bone.

Ah the cage! Yes he was always a bit of a bitch so we thought we might as well keep him that way. We actually think it might be putting him in heat. So we've been on the look out for a new friend for Sparky.

You'd like that wouldn't you Sparky?

Recently, I was in a car accident. My face is covered in scars and I lost both my left eye and my nose. Sparky, my pawmot that I had since i was six, now growls and makes distressed noises whenever I'm near and tries to zap me when I try to touch her. Anything I can do? Getting rid of her is not an option. I just want my best friend back...

i'm sorry to hear that, and i hope your recovery goes well.

the pawmi line are extremely social pokemon that form tight bonds with each other. they're also prey pokemon, which makes them fearful of change. she's noticing that something is different about a major social bond in her life, and it's going to take her time to adjust to that. it must be difficult to go through this, but over time she'll get used to the changes. she absolutely hasn't forgotten you- she's just reckoning with the part of her that tells her to be afraid of things that are different.

spending time in the same room as her, even if she doesn't come very close, will help get her comfortable with your new appearance. if you're up to talking some walks with her or even doing a little battling, those are major bonding activities between a pawmot and its trainer. if you can establish a social routine with her, especially by doing activities you did together before your accident, that will also help ease her back into feeling comfortable. even if it's tough, let her interact with you at her own pace, and before too long she'll realize you're still her best buddy.

in the meantime, you can try using some scent therapy to help her stay calm. sweet scent diffusors have been proven to have some calming effects, especially on herbivorous pokemon; theyre a little pricey, but ive seen some of our feistiest shelter pokemon settle down in response to them when we've gotten samples.

Hey! I'm Franklin, he/they. First year student at Naranja Academy, but I've been through several Gym Circuts for 7 years at this point. The school year's just started, but things are already looking up! I'm a ghost and fire type specialist, as well as a general Drowzee/Hypno specialist LOL

Koraidon: a strange form of Cyclizar given to me by my friend Arven, originally owned by his mother Professor Sada. He doesn't battle, morseso acts as a riding mount and food-stealer >:P

Lullay: my service Hypno and first partner Pokemon. We've been a duo for 14 years now! She doesn't primarily battle, she mostly helps with my anxiety and insomnia. She steps up for defense if we need it, though.

Tabasco: my Skeledirge and chosen starter for Naranja Academy! He's a little scrapper and eager to prove himself in a fight, and just as eager to sit back, sing his little songs, and eat all my oranges. Little orange heathen even as he grows up

Sparky: my Luxray! He's a bundle of energy and a reckless battler. He loves nothing more than getting to flaunt his stuff and also wail and cry and flail his fists on the ground when he loses

Sushi: my Curly Tatsugiri, and an odd quiet fellow. He likes splashing water on the other teammates for funny pranks and curling up in my collar or hair. That being said, he is a FIERCE battler. Honestly kinda scary with what he can pull off from such a tiny body...

Arthur: my Beartic! He's very polite with me and the team, but fierce when it comes to defense. It might take a while for him to warm up to any of my friends...

Strawberry Lemonade: my shiny Amped-Up Toxtricity, who i rescued from the wild as a Shadow variant. She's clingy and packs a MEGA punch, currently working through a bit of trauma regarding an awful ex-trainer. She's getting better every day :D

Montez: my Garchomp, and just what you'd expect from such a feared creature. She's the meanest of the group and always first to volunteer for a fight. She swings hard and fights to kill. I'm currently working to make her more tame and willing to be calm.

Things at Naranja are going great! My friend Nemona has shown me all the ropes, and I feel like I'm gonna have a good few years here. This might just be my Yelling About Things blog. So if you're into that thing feel free to tag along!

Heallo this is the in character blog i have for my self insert!! I follow from my main @yatgb

Be prepared for Main Character And Mary Sue Shenanigans, and dont be afraid to ask abt stuff he mentions in posts!! I plan to have this going as a whole thing with arcs and all that, basically going through all of scarvi's plot, including DLC down the line. This WAS gonna be an art-based askblog but i dont rlly have the time for one of those :( but ill be posting story snippets later down the lind!

Pelipper Mail is on as long as its something small, he wont accept like new pokemon or money or anything. Think like what youd get from a mystery gift :D Magic Anons are off!

Also, dont take everything Franklin says at face-value. He's got a loong history, and some secrets to hide. There's a chance he could be lying about some stuff ',:) expect a well meaning but unreliable narrator

That being said, I like to do my own worldbuilding so whenever he goes into biology details dont look too hard into it. We're havin fun here. I also don't plan on doing any multiverse shenanigans. This is a self contained story about an oc thats very dear to me :D so just go with the flow. I might interact with other blogs as long as its feasible they could on Rotomblr connected through a multiverse.

The Life of the Party

Ruby hated it here. Everybody was getting drunk, being loud, dancing, and talking to each other. She wanted to stay in her room, but Yang lured her out and locked her out of her room. Now, here she was, trapped in the middle of a party, surrounded by her mortal enemy: social interaction.

A lot of- Or maybe all of these people were older kids. People who were out to unwind from their stressful part-time jobs, meet up with old friends, hang with friends of friends, or just straight up make out with each other in the corner somewhere. Everything that made Ruby uncomfortable was here, save for full-on nudity. Although, that one guy with the monkey tail was really close.

She tried to talk with people. Really! She did! But the things she liked were worlds beyond what they understood. She was talking about how she was enjoying an online team raid in her favorite MOBA, and her response was a lackluster JRPG that had the worst dialogue ever. Eventually, she became so awkward that the other person had to excuse herself.

She just wasn't a people person.

Ruby made her way to an empty seat on couch, between a guy who was sweet-talking a girl on the chair next to him, and another guy scrolling on his phone. He must have been as bored as she was. She considered talking to him, but she decided instead to relax her own way.

See, Yang didn't plan for everything with Ruby. She may have locked her out of her room. She may have moved the rickety ladder outside so she couldn't climb back into her window. She may have even hid the keys in her bra. The last one wasn't usually a deterrent, but there were already too many people for her to try embarrassing herself. But there was one thing Yang didn't take.

Ruby reached into her hoodie and pulled out her Inferno Red GameBoy SP, and clicked the power switch. With a BLING! she smiled. Stars glittered across the screen as she pressed the A button. She'd been through the intro enough times already, and she wanted to escape so quickly. Still, the music played in her head as she let the spotlights center on her truest best friend.

'Ba-da-da-da-da-da-da!' She hummed in her head. The anthem to her whole childhood. 'Da-da-da-da! Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da! Boh-boh-boh-bah! Boh-bah-da-da-da...'

With another press, and she was back in her story of Pokémon FireRed. She was Ruby, Pokémon Trainer with her trusty CresRose Charizard and whole team of super-cool Pokémon! She was on the cusp of greatness, ready to take on the Indigo Plateau! Again for the third time... But still!

She skipped through the dialogue again and got back to where she was, right outside the Elite Four. She checked her Bag, which was filled with plenty of Full Restores, Full Heals, and Revives. Exiting, she moved to her team in Pokémon. Cressant was Lvl. 65 and at full health, ready with his assortment of moves, like Dragon Rage, Flamethrower, Strength, and Mega Punch! Then moved to the rest of her team, checking their HP, moves, and levels. She moved them around to ready herself and her team for the Elite Four.

She had Ember, her Flareon, with Dig, Smog, Fire Spin, and Flamethrower, and Sparky, her Raichu with Thunder, Flash, Agility, and Rain Dance. Mimi, her Fearow, was ready with Drill Peck, Mirror Move, Pursuit, and Fly, and so was Queeny, her Nidoqueen with Crunch, Toxic, Surf, and Earthquake. And then there was Sleepy, her Snorlax, with Rest, Rollout, Hyper Beam, and Psychic. She was proud of herself for that last surprise.

Steeling herself, she saved the game, and entered the doors.

Fire up was Lorelei, which meant she used Ice-Types. In her first run, she used Charizard like an idiot. She was a naive girl then, but she was a hardened veteran now. Instead, she sent out Sleepy, crushing Dewgong with Rollout. However, Slowbro was sent next, putting Ruby in a difficult neutral stalemate, since Psychic wouldn't do much, and Rest and Hyper Beam would leave her open. She grit her teeth and dug in, hoping Rollout would pick up enough to knock Slowbro out. Each turn was agonizing, with both sides engaging in the war of attrition. Finally, her persistence won out, but still left her would a Snorlax in the red going against a Cloyster.

It was time to switch tactics, and Pokémon. She swapped Sleepy for Sparky. On the swap, Ruby wasted no time and went straight for a Thunder, getting a critical hit on the first shot! This led to the next issue, Jynx, which meant she was back in her neutral stalemate. Unfortunately, this didn't last long as Jynx Psychic was also a critical. Ruby shook a bit at this, then breathed.

Okay, Sparky was out. Good news, though, was Jynx wasn't a Water-Type. This meant she was easy pickings for Cressant with a Flamethrower! Now it was down to the main event; the best of each team duking it out. She needed a strong move from the get out. Mega Punch and Strength were both good options, but the Flamethrower would be weak against Lapras' Water-Type. She would have to hope for a critical against-

"I wouldn't do that."

Ruby froze. Immersion broken. She looked to her side and saw the phone guy looking at her screen. How long was he watching her?!

"Wh-What?"

"Don't use physical attacks. Charizard is better with Specials."

"But Lapras is a Water-Type."

"And an Ice-Type." He said, pointing his fingers at each other. "They cancel each other out."

"Huh." Ruby blinked, looking to her screen.

"Plus, since Charizard is a Fire-Type, the attack will get bonus damage, too."

"Oh, right." She made her decision.

She imagined the battle was fierce, her mighty Cressant hovering over the terrible Lapras. A torrent of flames spewed into the Lapras, inflicting Burn. Lapras fired back with a Hydro Pump, and it hits! Cressant is down to the red, but it's not over! Flamethrower! Yes! Victory!

"Yes!"

"Nice work." Phone guy smiled.

"Thanks," she replied, "uh... phone guy?"

"That's a new one." He chuckled. "I like it. The name's Jaune."

"Ruby." She smiled. Genuinely smiled. "Nice to meet you."

"YO, ARE YOU PLAYING POKÉMON?!"

Yang was vibin' on the back porch, hanging out with her friends from school. It's been a while since she said something like that. Friends from school. College may have been different, but not too much in this aspect.

Still, she was a bit worried. Ruby'd become a lot more... recluse since summer started. A lot of her friends left her behind when they graduated. Maybe it was a bit cruel to force her to socialize, but the girl needed it. Next thing you know, she's coming back to her senior year as a pale-faced goblin creature.

"Yang?"

"Huh?" Weiss stared at her, one brow raised. "Sorry, sorry. What were you sayin'?"

"I were sayin'," Weiss mocked, "you've been out of it since the party started. You're usually in everyone's business, meeting people, telling crappy jokes, and maybe even slipping some tongue. But all you've done for the past hour is sit there, drinking soda, and having that same sad look on your face."

"Yeah, sorry." She scratched her head. "Just a lot on my mind."

"What, because of Pyrrha?"

"Nah, she's got her own issues." Yang waved off, not at all concerned about her rival maybe, possibly having a crush on her. "What I'm worried about is Ruby."

"Ruby?" Weiss reeled a bit. "Your sister? Isn't she a senior now?"

"Yeah, she's growin' up real fast." Yang chuckled. "Too fast and not enough. For the past week, she's been holed up in her room, playing video games in the dark. It's not healthy."

"Agreed." Weiss nodded. "My older sister was telling me something similar. A lot of her new recruits have been spending more time in their barracks at their computers than out on the field doing PT."

"Well, Ruby ain't gonna join the military." Yang said, looking around for wood to knock. She did, then continued. "Still, I wish she had a way to get out there and make some new friends."

"Yo! Yang!" Pyrrha stepped out, face red from drinking. "There you are!"

"Oh, hey, P-Money!" Yang looked to her. "What's up?"

"You never told me you had a GameCube!"

"Uh, it's my sister's," Yang clarified, "why?"

"Because some kid is totally kicking ass at Pokémon on it!"

"Some kid?" Yang stood up. "What does she look like?"

"Xiao Long!" Yang watched as Pyrrha was squeezed around by Emerald. "Some kid is playing Pokémon, and I can't get my boyfriend to look at me for more than five seconds because of her!"

"What?!"

Ruby was loving this! She hated all the attention, the eyes either on the back of her head or on where her fingers flicked on the GameCube controller, but she was loving the cheers and excitement from her fans!

Her fans! She had fans! Drunken, older kids, but still fans!

But she had to stay focused. This was it. After almost an hour of playing, going toe-to-to with the best of the best in the Pokémon League. Her rival, Ass, stood across from her, ready to prove once and for all, who was the very best, like no one ever was!

Ass sent out Pidgeot, and Ruby sent out Mimi. Would Sparky be better? Sure, but Ruby had an audience, and an audience demanded a show. So she was going to give them one.

Pidgeot used Agility, while Mimi used Pursuit. Pidgeot used Quick Attack, hitting Mimi. This continued until Pidgeot fainted, marking the first trial completed in Ruby's long road to victory. The crowd roared!

"Hell yeah!"

"Let's go!"

"King of the Skies!"

"She's a girl."

"Oh... It still works."

Next was Alakazam. Mimi was quick on the pursuit, but was still weakened by the previous match. With one Psychic attack, Mimi was down, earning shouts of disapproval from her fans. She shook it off and continued on.

Sparky was the next to come out, dodging another Psychic before countering with Flash! Accuracy down! Dodge! Agility! The crowd were on the edge of their seats! Thunder! Hit! Psychic! Hit! Thunder! Alakazam goes down! The crowd cheers!

"That was risky." Jaune said. "You got lucky."

"Yeah, but," Ruby looked to everyone behind her, "they don't mind."

"Well, this show isn't over yet." Jaune smiled, then looked to the screen. "Especially with that."

Rhydon. There was no way Sparky was going to win this. But what Ruby could do was set up the match for a quick victory. Raichu let out a final Flash before being snuffed out by an Earthquake. Ruby challenged him with Queeny.

"Ruby..." Jaune warned.

"I got this."

Queeny made short work with Surf, earning quadruple damage to the Rhydon, which equaled to another fast victory. Ruby's heart pounded, curious to who would be next. Unfortunately, her opponent was an Exeggutor. Before she could pull a Toxic, another Psychic knocked Queeny out hard, earning a critical hit for the bad guys.

"Ooh! She cracked!"

"Eggsactly!"

"She's gettin' scrambled!"

"I... don't have an egg pun."

Ruby moved quickly to Cressant and clicked to select her.

"Ruby, wait!" She stopped, looking to Jaune. "Think about it. You played this before, so who's next?"

"Exeggutor, Blastoise..." Ruby knit her brow. "Right. I can't risk Charizard yet." Ruby backed out, choosing her other Fire-Type. "Let's go, Ember!"

"Bro, Flareon has no moves!"

Ruby flicked around and unleashed a Flamethrower on her opponent, quick and easy. This left her in a three-to-two match against Ass, who sent out Blastoise. Everyone gasped, but Ruby had a plan.

Blastoise used Hydro Pump, knocking out Flareon. Okay, it wasn't a good plan, but she had something. Sleepy was sent in response. Special Defense may have been high, but Ruby was going to Psychic as hard as she could as Hydro Pump was expended. The second war of attrition continued until a critical hit Skull Bash final put down Sleepy.

Two to one. Charizard vs Blastoise. Not good. Not good at all. Ruby needed a plan. She just had to think.

"What the hell was that?!"

"Agh, leave it to a dumb kid to screw it up!"

"Ah, crap! I gotta get back! I got work tomorrow."

Everyone was getting angry. They were feeling disappointed. She was letting them down. What would happen if she lost? What names were they gonna call her? She felt her throat close up. She... She was going to cry.

"Ruby, I have an idea." She felt a hand on her shoulder. "We cheat."

Ruby sniffed. "Wh-What?"

"You already played this so many times before, right?" He smiled. "So why don't you just use what you learned to get here?"

"Oh... Oh!" Ruby nodded, going to her bag. It might cost her Cressant, but it would be worth it. Ruby used a revive on Sleepy.

Blastoise used Hydro Pump. Cressant fainted. Ruby sent out Sleepy. Sleepy used Rest and recovered HP. Blastoise attacked. Ruby used Revive. Blastoise attacked. Ruby used Revive. This went on until Sleepy fainted. It was now two against five.

Sparky was sent out. Sparky used Thunder. It missed. Blastoise tucked it's head in. Sparky used Thunder. It missed. Blastoise used Skull Bash! Sparky fainted.

Ruby sent out Mimi. Blastoise used Hydro Pump. It hit, but it didn't take Mimi out. Mimi used Mirror Move. It hit! Blastoise goes down!

Ass sends out his last, Arcanine, who used Fire Blast to make quick work of Mimi.

"Ha! Roasted!"

Ruby was about to send out Cressant, then paused. She flicked up and chose Ember.

"Bro, Flareon has no moves!"

"You mean like you have no jokes?" Ruby snarked back. The crowd jumped and laughed as the failed jokester got burned! Speaking of, the battle heated up in these final moments.

Flareon used Smog, poisoning Arcanine. Arcanine used Take Down, dealing massive damage to Flareon. But Flareon, much like Ruby, wasn't easy to put down. Flareon used dug underground. Arcanine used Take Down, but it missed!

Everyone watched with baited breath. They knew it was coming, but they didn't when. Finally, Flareon emerged, using Dig! It's super effective!

...But not enough for Arcanine, who used Take Down! Flareon fainted! Arcanine was hurt in recoil!

BAH! BAH-DAH-DAH! BAH-DAH-DAH!

The crowd roars in it's excitement! Everyone jumps and cheers. They even began singing the Pokémon show theme!

"I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS!"

Ruby leapt into Jaune, wrapping her arms around his neck and, because she was so excited, she kissed him! On the lips!

"RUBY ROSE!"

The excitement screeched to a halt as Ruby watched her sister approach. She slid away from Jaune, suddenly feeling very small. Her sister glanced between them before grabbing Jaune by his collar and taking a deep whiff. She hummed before letting go, but gave a grunt as she refocused on Ruby. She felt so embarrassed.

"Heh, that was pretty sneaky, little sister." Yang grinned. "Stealing a win and my party out from under me? Nice work~!"

"Oh, uh, thanks, Yang!"

Ruby felt good again. Really good! She hated parties like these, but she really came into her own and pulld off a thrilling performance that had left people wanting more! Nothing could bring her down!

"So, who's your boyfriend~?" Yang teased.

"Oh boy..." Ruby flushed.

I'm so sorry for this angst guys. the idea came to me and I had to. and this will have a part 2.

this is the rewrite of it!

warning: head trauma, concussion, ambulances and hospitals, lots of angst, sad ryan too.

the buzzer goes off and boston college lost the national championship to denver. with like 10 seconds left, isla is chasing the puck to get the icing.

all of a sudden, she feels a stick in her back and everything goes black.

there is no call on the play and time winds down. everyone on the bc team is in tears not believing that they lost. ry is bawling not he ice getting comfort form eamon and will, cutter is trying to process what the hell just happened.

no one blinks an eye at isla being down in the corner. everyone assumes she's upset over the loss.

once ry gets up, he grabs cutter and goes over to his girlfriend. he bends down and say, "sparky. it's ok. you did your best baby."

there's no response. he leans down closer and sees her eyes closed. he looks at cut who tries, "hey isla. it's gonna be ok. win or lose we put our best out there."

still no response. eyes still closed. ry freaks out, "GET THE TRAINER!" he yells across the best he can.

pretty quickly all the attention is turned the young gauthier girl, laying on the ice, not moving. ry is freaking out and crying again, "come on isla."

the trainer runs over with coach and she's still out. the trainer says to coach, "I don't know what happened but she's out cold. call an ambulance, fast."

coach nods and gets someone to call the ambulance. ry is holding her hand, trying not to move her and trying not to cry even more. cutter tries again, "isla, it's cut. can you hear me?"

there's no response and she hasn't moved either. ryan pleads, "come on isla, please baby wake up."

eventually, the trainer gets her cage off and ryan rubs her cheek hoping to get a reaction. her eyes move a little and slowly flutter open. there's a lot of light rushing to her eyes and her head is pounding. she mumbles, "ry?"

"hey, I'm right here pretty girl. you're ok isla."

cut chimes in, "hey, I'm here too kid. we got you."

the trainer starts asking her what hurts and she explains, "head. a lot. and my wrists hurt too." she wiggles her fingers and moves her legs. her head and wrists are the only that hurt which is a good sign. the paramedics show up and clear her to sit up.

they ask similar questions about where she is and if she knows what happens. she says, "I think I was hit from behind. I was skating for the puck and everything went black.

she gets cleared to sit up but not stand. they ask, "do you want to stand and skate off or do we need the stretcher?"

"can I try?"

they nod. she tries to stand but stumbles and ends up falling back down. after she stumbles a third time they tell her, "ok, we're getting the stretcher.

as soon as the paramedics were called, will rushed to the locker and got ry and cut there sneakers so they could ditch their skates and go with her.

cut says to ryan, "go with her."

ryan is thoroughly surprised that cut is telling him to growth her rather than going himself. he protests, "but cut, she's your sister. you should go. I can meet you there." cut smiles at the younger boy, "lenny, go with her. she needs you right now. I'll meet you there, bring your clothes. go with her."

ry nods and jumps in with isla to go with her. never letting go of her hand the whole way to the hospital. she weakly mumbles, "ryan?"

"I'm right here isla. it's gonna be ok." he says softly.

they did their best to make it dark in the ambulance and keep the noise to a minimum. she says, "it's hurt ry. a lot."

he softens hearing her voice crack and says quietly, "I know pretty girl. they're gonna make you feel better baby. I love you."

"I love you too ry."

they allowed Isla to take her jersey off so that they didn't cut it. she wanted it to remained unharmed because this is the jersey she set a record in and played with her brother for the last time in. they get to the hospital and a whole team of doctors swarm her.

they take her to get some tests and scans and that's when cutter, eden, will, dani, gabe, and jacob show up. eden instantly hugs ryan and he just breaks down crying.

everyone is feeling for ry and cut. especially because of how close they are, because if you're dating one of them then your dating all of them.

ry explains through his sobs, "they took her for some tests. they said that her being awake and talking and only her head and hand hurting are all good signs so they think it's just a concussion and maybe a broken wrist."

eden says softly, "that's good ry. while she's gone, why don't you get changed and we'll wait for the doctors. and take some deep breathes." ryan just nods and grab the bag from cutter going to the bathroom to get changed. gabe goes with him to make sure he's ok and Jacob and will stay with eden and cutter.

the doctor comes out and says, "family of Isla gauthier?" cutter stands with eden and the doctor comes over. he says to cut and eden, "so she definitely has a broken wrist. when we took her to get a CT scan of her head, she lost consciousness again. right now, it looks like she has a lot of swelling in her brain. she slipped into a coma, and we're planning to keep her in a medically induced one until the swelling goes down. there's no bleeding but a dangerous amount of swelling. what is your relationship to her?"

"I'm her brother. this is my girlfriend. her boyfriend was with her when she came him in but he's changing right now. can we see her?"

"yes. I will have a nurse take you back when you're ready. I'm gonna warn you, she doesn't look the best. she's hooked up to a lot of machines to monitor everything. I recommend only a few visitors at a time as to not overwhelm her for when she wakes up."

cutter shakily says, "thank you." the doctor leaves and eden pulls him in for a tight hug. she holds him tight and hears him mumble, "I gotta call mom and dad." eden nods and waits for ryan to come back.

when they come back, eden sits ryan down to explain what the doctor said. she says softly, "ry sit down."

"what's wrong? I wanna see her. why can't I see her?"

"you'll get to see her but the doctor came out with an update while you were changing. ry, she's in a coma."

"what? no. she can't be. she was talking to me, she just had a headache. she's ok." he starts panicking. eden hugs him and gets him to calm down before further explaining, "they said that she a dangerous amount of swelling in her brain and slipped out of consciousness. they put her in a coma to get the swelling down."

"can I see her? I need to see her."

"me, you, and cut are gonna go right now. just brace yourself ry."

ry nods and they 3 of them follow a nurse into her room. she's hooked up to a bunch of machines and ry instantly sits next to her and holds her hand carefully. he presses a few kisses to it and just sits there quietly.

back in the waiting room, will is holding dani for dear life, gabe is on the phone with kelsey, and jacob goes and calls coach. cut says quietly, "my parents are on the way. I don't know if I'm ready for them to see her. they never wanted her to play and this is why."

"I know cut. we can cross that bridge when we get to it. just sit down and hold her hand. I'll be right here if you need me." eden says softly rubbing his back. he sits and hold isla's other hand. after like an hour, a nurse comes in to run some tests.

as her nurse leaves, their parents and ken come in. her mom says, "how is she?"

"she's in a coma. she hit her head pretty hard and has a broken wrist. there's a lot of brain swelling."

"this is exactly the reason we never wanted her playing hockey cutter. especially with boys."

"I know mom. can we not do this right now?" cut says quietly trying not to cry. their dad then adds on, "this never would've happened if you didn't push her to play cut."

"I didn't push her to play. I pushed her to be herself instead of ken's fucking barbie doll. this is not on me. it was a dirty play, it could've happened to me."

"but it didn't. it happened to her." ken says.

cut takes a deep breath and says, "get out."

"what?" his mom asks on a disgusted tone. cutter snaps, "I said get out. now. your daughter is in a fucking coma from a freak accident and all you can think about is blaming me. she's a second overall pick and is a better hockey player than I'll ever be. all you've done is yell and berate her and tell how disappointed in her hat you are so get out. she doesn't needs this and I certainly don't either. I just played my college game with my baby sister and now she's in a fucking coma. get out and don't come back."

"don't talk to your mother that way cutter."

"I don't give a shit dad. get out."

their parents are appalled at cutter's behavior and leave out of disgust. cutter let's out a deep breathing squeezes isla's hand a few times. eden holds cutter a little tighter and rubs his back. she offers, "do you want me to call rut? or my parents?"

"eden I don't care. I'm not trying to be an asshole but I can't think about anything but her right now." he says softly. eden nods and kisses his head. ryan hasn't moved or said anything since they got in the room.

he's just sitting there holding her hand and trying to hold back the tears. it's not working, they are streaming down his face. he'd give anything to hear her voice right now.

they let eden, cutter, and ryan stay the night in her room. eden curls up on cutter's lap and cutter falls asleep on her shoulder. ry unfortunately, does not fall asleep. he is up all night just watching Isla sleep and the nurses are concerned for him. one of the nurses says, "honey, you need some rest too."

"I can't sleep. not yet at least. I need her to be ok first. I need her to wake up. she's everything to me."

"she's ok. I know she doesn't look it but she is. you seem to care for her a lot." the nurse suggests. ryan nods with a smile, "we've been together for almost a year. I love her so much. we're both drafted to the same team so we'll get to play pro hockey together some day. if she plays again."

"she'll be able to play again if she wants to. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, all of us nurses having been gushing about you guys. and how cute you are. you've been with her since she got her and won't leave her alone, not letting go of her hand. all of us can see how much you love her."

"thank you." ry slightly smiles.

"but you can't help her and be there for her when she wakes up if you don't care of yourself. just some food for thought."

"I know. I'm trying."

"I know. I'll be back in a bit to check on her. and you." the nurse leaves with a soft, but sad smile and ryan just grips her hand a little tighter watching her sleep. he doesn't even think about sleeping until he knows that she's awake and gonna be ok. which in his mind she will be. she has to be ok, because ryan isn't sure what he'd do without her. she is everything to him and more.

For aspiring young trainers, Vinyl City- music capital of the world, offers a unique and harmonious opportunity for people and Pokemon alike. While the city may lack both a League and Championship status for the region, there is no shortage of contests and concerts to dig one's teeth into. While there may not be the opportunities to battle found in other regions across the world, bonds between trainers and their Pokemon shine as brightly in this city as any other, if not more.

You know, despite the pokemon, we don’t actually see NSR’s gameplay loop changing all that much.

We don’t really believe that just because you’re giving these characters a pokemon team that the game would automatically become an rpg, or that everything would now be solved by a pokemon battle. Or anything, really. Mayday and Zuke are musicians, neither of them have any actual interest in straight battling. Sure, they’ll take the NSR artists on in a battle of the bands, but aside from the pokemon now being responsible for some of the attacks you already see in the base game (DJ’s Minior does his sun beam attack for him, Rillaboom aids Yinu’s mother in slamming into the ground, etc), but you never fight them directly. With the exception of Neon J’s team, none of these pokemon have even been trained for battling.

We’d also say most of the fun in picking out pokemon for characters like these is the hows and whys- there’s more to this sort of thing than just picking from a list. Did the trainer want this pokemon, or did they stumble upon it? What stories might the two share? What have they been through together? Eve probably had the most discarded pokemon on this list- not just in terms of being considered, but outright with bits of lore in our head as to the why and written blurbs for their place on the team. Who knows, maybe Eve has more pokemon than this, and this is only her current ‘performance’ team.

Likewise, we couldn’t make something like this without mentioning this art [LINK] of Neon J with a shiny Dhelmise by Corruptimles. Not only is it some sick art, but the pokemon just fits Neon J to such a T that anytime we see someone give these artists pokemon without giving Neon J this ‘mon, it just looks wrong

Likewise, Espathra works so well for Eve, that if we were only giving all these artists one pokemon each, that would 100% be her partner. Aliendragondreaming recently made pokemon teams for all the nsr artists that inspired us to also take a crack at the idea [LINK]- and though Minior for DJ was something we had already had the idea of before this, their picks for Neon J and Eve each inspired the same Pokemon for those trainers on this list.

And finally, shoutout to the (literally being) pokemon au done by meister-draws [LINK], in which their picks for what Team Sayu would be are so good we just imagine the kids having these pokemon each. Both ideas they created for the DJ are also really good (if you asked us? DJSS as a Deoxys is really good, with the theming and ego of this man. Plus it adds something to the whole ‘you think you’re so special and above us all, but you’re not stronger/important than anyone else. Minor works really well as a pokemon he has, but not so much one he is, even if it’s stature is as short as he is)

MAYDAY

Fuecoco

A newcomer to Mayday’s team, inspired by tales from Zukes past and Kul Fyra’s performances. While it’s true Mayday had always wanted a fire type of her own, they are not native to the islands.

Pikachu

Enjoys rocking out during B2J’s performances, and can serve as a handy jumpstart if its trainer doesn’t feel like breaking out the equipment. Also answers to Sparky, Ratman, Hey you, and Pichu.

Trubbish

Optional Pokemon the player can find if they click around the sewers enough times. It must’ve been attracted to the piles of junk a certain someone keeps bringing home. Seems to enjoy the sounds of B2J’s concerts.

Any fan of rock is a friend in her book!

ZUKE

Krookodile

This lazy ‘croke spends most of its days dozing away. However, if it were to run into a certain someone from its trainer's past, Krookodile would become aggravated and protective of its trainer.

Luvdisc

A gift from someone Zuke used to be close with.

Is unsure how Mayday even came across a Fuecoco to begin with.

DJ SUBATOMIC SUPERNOVA

Minior

A rare, enticing find worthy of being his partner Pokemon. While the DJ can easily tell Saturn apart from the other Miniors, fans struggle picking it out from just the shells.

The Club Planetarium is filled with indigo Miniors, though their shells rarely break. It’s a guessing game amongst fans to try and find ‘Saturn’.

YINU + MOTHER

Applin

Currently Yinu’s first and only Pokemon, Applin was obtained fairly recently to remember a loved one by.

Appletun

Despite being a normally calm Pokemon, Appletun has been acting aggressively of late, and refuses to follow orders given by Yinus mother in battle. It has an undeniable soft spot for the family, however, including the Applin belonging to Yinu.

Shaymin

Technically, the Shaymin of Natura is meant to be in the protection of the district's current charter. However, as Shaymin require advanced care, it is being looked after by Yinu’s mom until she’s old enough to properly care for it.

Rillaboom

Has a remarkable knack for keeping rhythm, even amongst its fellow kind. Has been trained by Yinus mother to duet with her should the need arise.

Chesnaught

Extremely protective of the family, is tasked with keeping Yinu safe during Bunk Bed Junctions hijacking.

Tropius

Yinu’s favorite of her mother’s Pokemon, as it always allows her to eat the fruit from its neck.

Appleton will join Yinu’s team one day, alongside Shaymin.

1010

Falinks

Lacking a Brass, each Trooper is instead assigned to a 1010 unit. The two move and fight as one, constantly changing their formation as they battle. It seems both are listening to orders given from offset.

Fans have just as much fun coming up with personalities for each Trooper as they do for the 1010’s themselves.

NEON J

Klinklang

Neon J was given this Pokemon (already fully evolved) when he awoke with a new rank and body.

Aegislash

It wasn’t originally known this sword was even a Pokemon, until it was given to a newly rebuilt Neon J and sprung to life. Neon J feels as though he can relate to it, the Navy feels as though they should check the armory.

Dhelmise

Caught from the wreckage of a ship during his time in the Navy, his go-to battle partner.

Falinks

Although Neon J enters the fray with only the Brass by his side, it quickly calls its Troopers back from the 1010’s limo. It considers Neon J’s orders absolute.

Quaquaval

Although Quaxly was Neon J’s starter Pokemon, its struggle with self confidence led to it being unevolved until after the war. It now only waits for its trainer's command to take the spotlight.

Ludicolo

After failing to catch a Wingull for several hours as a child, Neon J had stumbled upon Lotad entirely by mistake. It is now hard for him to imagine his team without Ludicolo on it.

All of Neon J’s pokemon have been taught how to, and enjoy, dancing with their trainer

EVE 

Smeargle

Her starter, starting out as a young artist. Has been with her the longest, and has picked up quite a strange assortment of moves, even with Sketch’s notorious reputation. 

Espathra

Although Flittles aren’t native to Vinyl City, Eve found the Pokemon injured while searching for inspiration for her art. After aiding it, it has clung to Eve’s side ever since and fiercely defends her.

Mr. Mime

Aids Eve in her performances, is a bit of a diva in its own right.

Furfrou

Everytime this Pokemon has been seen in public, it has had a brand new hairstyle and color job applied. Rumor has it that it was a gift from someone Eve was close to before becoming a Charter.

Malamar

Despite its fearsome reputation, this Pokemon merely enjoys the lights of Vinyl City, and cares deeply for the trainer that raised it. Eve has used it’s ink for her art before.

Milotic

After acquiring Smeargle, Feebas was the first Pokemon Eve encountered and caught on her journey. Eve now considers it fate the two of them met.

Eve has been known to take spa days with her Pokemon in tow.

TATIANA

Chatot

Rarely ever seen without her trusty Chatot, the public is very aware of what is believed to be her sole Pokemon companion. Despite this fact, very little is known about it or how Tatiana acquired it.

Volcarona

It was said that Kul Fyra had a Volcarona that shone so brightly and burned so hot during performances that it rivaled the sun.

Rumor has it that even Kul Fyra lost in a battle to Tatian’s orderly strategies.

So usually when I make pokemon teams for characters, I put a little thought into them, so a lot of these have explanations

Kanade's team, I think, would be more based around music and comfort than anything else. She would have:

Wigglytuff, who she raised from an egg as a gift from her parents

Cubone, who was the most recently caught and who she thinks is adorable

Roselia, who she found on her way to visit her dad one day

Kricketune, who is very helpful when she hits a block with music

Audino, who helps her remember to take breaks and. y'know. eat

Flabebe, who she found at the park with the carnations

Mafuyu's, on the complete other hand, would likely be focused around strength and perceived perfection. I literally used a team checker for this one, though it's still not perfect, haha. She would have:

Ceruledge, who is her strongest pokemon and who likely knows her best

Milotic, who was once a gift from her mother but now one of her closest confidants

Blissey, who is a remnant of her old dream to become a nurse after traveling as a trainer

Crobat, who evolved much quicker than she ever thought

Mamoswine, who I think just fits on this team tbh yes I know this team is 1/3 Sinnoh what about it

Haxorus, who she raised from an Axew and who is actually very sweet

Ena, I feel, would go for a team of pokemon she thought were cute, perhaps on the artistic side, but also strong or maybe even shared her temper. She would have:

Teddiursa, who she thinks is adorable and also kinda feisty (like herself)

Zweilous, who I think just fits her, y'know? Imagine her with a Hydreigon fr

Alcremie, who followed her after she got cheesecake one day

Smeargle, because of course

Dedenne, who is cute and sparky

Gothorita, because it also fits

And Mizuki would have a cute team! A team that was very them. They would have:

Munna, who kinda gives kimi no yoru wo kure lol

Delcatty, who was raised alongside their sister's

Leavanny, who loves helping them with sewing

Glaceon, since Sylveon felt a little on the nose and shows their kinda icier/loner side if that makes sense

Ribombee, who Mizuki thinks is just the cutest

Hatterene, who also has a kind of solitary and reclusive nature, but the two of them are trying their best

okay! have a possible thought on Ingo & Eelektross falling together. specifically if you go with lost memory identity shenanigans for them both:

Ingo looks at eelektross and knows that its trainer is blunt. quiet. to the point. smiling. so why isn't he the way he remembers him being?

eelektross looks at Ingo and knows his partner is graceful. beautiful. outwardly calm but with a roiling, angry power hidden under soft chimes. so why does it not feel anything like that?

they don't remember enough to realize they're mismatched, only the vague impressions of what their fellow faller's partner is supposed to be like. (important thing i need to clarify: no, eelektross doesn't think it's a ghostly light fixture. it knows it’s an eelektross but remembers certain personal qualities of Ingo's ace and thinks that's supposed to be them. ingo doesn’t think he’s emmet, he just knows eelektross’s trainer didn’t act like he’s behaving now, like he ought to.)

so they try to act like they "should" as the other's companion but keep failing miserably. Ingo tries to smile, to be quiet, offer only brutal honesty. the facade fails quickly and often but he tries to do it for his friend, give it stability in this unknown world. eelektross forces itself to keep still, tamp down its curiosity to investigate shiny rocks and strange pokemon, not squirm and tangle and cover Ingo in wet sucker kisses when it's excited or happy or worried. it wants to give ingo whatever comfort it can through being the partner it remembers of him, with both of them lost as they are.

and their attempts make the other confused and upset, not matching the person/pokemon in their minds. but each take it as they must not be trying hard enough and need to act better. so the other one can be happy they have their Normal partner back.

and the thing is, it’s not like they’re unfamiliar with battling with each other! the subway bosses’ teams were really just one big group that mixed and matched on the regular - they’re extremely proficient at reading each other’s commands and strategizing on the fly while staying in sync, just like a normal trainer and their partner. so rather than clue them in it just makes things more confusing whenever there’s doubts that come up in the “I should act like this” schtick. if he’s not its trainer, if it’s not his ace, how else could they possibly know each other so well, be so practiced at fighting together?

A bespectacled green-haired girl waits at the Terrarium with a majestic Serperior. As you walk towards her, she notices you, puts on a smile and waves.

"Hello! Glad you're here to teach me to ride."

Mayla perked up and pushed herself off the walls of the Terrarium. She also waved over at her, smiling. Her Zebstrika and Rapidash are right beside her.

“Hey! Glad you could make it!”

She strolled up to her

“I’ll be having you ride Bolt today. He’s easier to ride than Sparky.”

She motioned for her to follow her to her makeshift horse rack where she keeps all their stuff.
