#i got soft fired.#they said it was bc summertime is slow and they dont have the hours for me #but they also said smth about my 3 month evaluation ? which i was not involved in but i felt like it implied something about my performance #but they didn't say it was about my performance not being good enough #and they also didn't say its just bc of the hours but you're a good employee so don't worry about that #they said they still might call me at some point if they have hours for me again #the words fired and let you go were not used #but. i stg they just hired a new froster. idk for sure but i thought they did #and one of the cashiers (the girl i know actually 😐) said she might get trained in frosting this summer #even tho by company policy youre not supposed to work in the kitchen if youre under 18. shes 16 #but there was no warning or critiques or anything #there was when i first started #but not for a long time now #the manager gave me one note like 2 or 3 weeks ago and not since and that was the first time in a while #i had a panic attack when i got home #idk what im gonna do and idk what to think or feel about it rn #i just . yea #thats whats going on in my life lol anyway

Unfortunately all chatgpt is good for is interview/job application stuff which I think says a lot about the hiring process as a whole

#wrenfea.exe #as an actual artifical intelligence? no its horrible bc it really ISNT one #its a writing synthesizer it generates writing based on data searches and boundaries from training #thats what a neural network is its a very convoluted input-output sequence #it has no capacity to understand the meaning behind what it generates #it is simply generating the specific things that the user is looking for #the job interview process has become so robotic and automized that ai fits in perfectly #but employers HATE that people are turning to chatgpt for cover letters and interview answers #so it was fair for them to use filtering programs to accept/deny applications before it got in front of an actual human being #and its ok for them to use ai and pre-written formats to make job announcements descriptions and interview questions #but god forbid we are forced to use those exact same tools to get a humans attention so we can get a job and not starve #pushing aside the whole copyright debate on chatgpt and the environmental impact of its power usage btw #im soley analyzing how its become commonly utilized on both sides #by interviewer and interviewed #the mechanization of the whole process is now on both sides #it just seems very inhuman..#its also how some people have figured out how to somehow become employed multiple times by the same company due to lack of human oversight #and how automated theyve made their hiring process #probably should have made these tags into a separate reblog oops #also disclaimer do not cut and paste right into your application materials bc chatgpt often just lies #also many places now can tell you used chatgpt due to how similar its answers are #i only use it to make a template and see how things can be phrased to be more professional and buzzwordy #id never use it for something actually creative #and dear god do not write academic essays with it #i tried using it to supplement my own cover letter template but it was too robotic even for a cover letter #it is very good at accessing and summarizing publically available information #thats all it does not make sure the information is true or good

I like the rebranding I think the old logo needed updating and the new one is more dynamic. And I like that the GP kinda looks like a circuit

i think my interview this morning went well!!

#im not trying to speculate on whether or not i think i have the job #but i feel good about how the interview went #i am getting anxious about money again though #and this interview happened during one of the company-wide training days for the second job i just started #bc the first job is uh. i will have had one (1) shift for the entire second pay period of this month #so that one is very much a supplementary 'fill in when needed and wanted' kind of position #but unfortunately i have a conference during ANOTHER training day for the more stable job next weekend.#and i just feel like im somehow showing them that im unreliable?? and that then they will not want to schedule me??#idfk thats the fear talking. practically speaking if they didnt want me they wouldnt hire me. the store manager and the dm both #said that it's not a big deal so i will do my best to trust them #hhhhhh i have a tour booked for an apartment next tuesday afternoon and i hope . ?? i can wiggle my way in to another training sesh next we #idk if thats something i can request or try to suggest w my store manager or if i have to wait on him to get to me about it #but i will find out on monday when theres the next session that i can make #blah blah blah

Had the most. Specific dream

#Late 1800s maybe early 1900s #two brothers. the older brother inherited a large company from their parents and is very wealthy #and he loves his younger brother very much. his younger brother is an absolute madlad though and LOVES model trains #and full size trains too ig. the younger brother somehow gets into some kind of train accident and loses function in one arm and #part of the function of one leg #years later and the health of the younger brother is further declining #so he and his brother go on a great train trip #while on the train (the older brother is struggling to properly care for the younger) they meet a woman #she is incredibly graceful and it turns out that she always wanted to be a ballerina #but she couldn’t make it in the big city #so instead she works as a sort of valet for older women who travel #taking the train from city to city and helping them load and unload off the train and navigate it safely #the younger brother asks to hire her help for the duration of their trip. she accepts and is so taken with the younger brother #that she offers to stay with the brothers full time to care for the younger brother #she is beautiful and refined and kind and the older brother immediately realizes that he could love her #but she shares more in common with the younger brother. they both have great passions in life and they can help each other achieve them #(she can help him travel and he can employ her while she trains to work in the ballet)#and they fall in love. and the older brother is too good of a man to interfere in his brother’s relationship and confess his feelings #so he lives on in silence #the end #I woke up crying. wow wtf #I have never had a dream both so coherent and so emotionally moving #I’m going to go chew glass about the blorbos that literally live in my mind ig #older brother ilysm #is this like. a sign? should I write a short story or smth about the brothers?#like. it literally came to me in a dream #wow y’all the older brother loved his younger brother so much 😭😭😭 he would give up anything just to give his brother a comfortable life #where he could buy model trains and ride real trains and fall in love with train valets. augh ahddgkdls

i'm an office manager which means that i'm responsible for all the paperwork (all invoices go through me), calls and emails. and i act like an assistant to basically everyone in our office. including shit like booking flights and hotels and taking care of everyone's cars and insurances etc. buying office supplies, taking care of how our office looks, making tea & coffee for guests, booking rooms, making sure our management signs the papers on time etc. etc. etc.

doesn't sound that bad but the 'acting like an assistant' is tricky. because i get like 20 daily requests from people to take care of something asap. like, paying a fine, calling some place to ask about something, scheduling a meeting, making changes in booking, registering a car etc.

now it's extra stressful bc i'm organizing a christmas party for 120+ people and it's not easy when you need to book hotels for 30 people, book a restaurant, decide on a menu, confirm attendance etc. and your guests are dickheads who don't care if you have to change their reservation 4 times in 3 days.

#and there is no one who can replace me when it's needed. like when i took a week off it took me another 2 weeks to catch up with work #because some things are easy but it would take weeks of training to thoroughly prepare someone to do my job #and no one has time for this because they have their own jobs and duties #but despite this my coworkers help me as much as they can :') and they really support me #there's only one department full of shitheads and 90% of my problems originate there lmao most of the company hates them #tbh most of my problems would be solved if they just hired another person and split the work between us but #it's always been one person so 🤡#and sometimes it gets really calm and i don't have anything to do for a few hours. it's been months since something like that happened but #it happened a few times in the past lol #answered #i really can't quit this job because it pays well (i mean for a person with no degree). and out of obligation.#i need to finish my degree because now there's no way i would find something that could pay my rent 😭#but i promised myself i won't stay here for longer than 2 years unless they offer me a different position #but until then you have to listen to my complaining every day agkdgjdfj sorry
