William's only weak point is his terribly middle class wife, who is popular but still terribly twee (the colour coordinated outfits, the sentimental overly polished video, her yapping dog loving brother*) - if Charles can get his Royal son back into the fold, BP has a line of attack: noble steadfast Tradition vs pious Modernizing.
How valid is this argument tho? Does Britain really have a problem with a commoner wearing the crown?
No idea. I’m not British.
Frankly, I didn’t know how to respond to that post. It came off classist and snobby, and I don’t know whether that was the anon’s intent or if they were trying to be snarky.
Liking the Middletons’ values doesn’t make you middle class. Nor does dressing in color coordinated outfits, which Queen Elizabeth did - may I remind the anon - and I’m very certain no one called her middle class. And the Middletons’ communications style of speaking directly to one another and handle their issues privately is inferior to the royals’ preference to talk at each other through the press and make it national news? Wow.
Because from where I sit, over here in the rebellious colonies full of terrible middle class people, “tradition” is antagonistic brothers threatening the stability and security of the monarchy’s very right to exist (Edward VIII, Andrew, and Harry), so a little modernizing wouldn’t hurt if it means future generations of Windsor men aren’t warring with each other in your national newspapers.

Emphasizing Louis's Beauty
I've talked previously about how Louis in the 2nd half of the season is rarely seen in suits anymore but what about the earlier episodes when he wears a wide array of colorful suits while he is still performing his role in human society? What stands out is how many vibrant colors and patterns we see him in vs. Lestat who is always in some kind of tan, gray or navy. A lot of this is simply historical record as vibrant colors were more typical of black male dress of the era and we see that Louis is trying to maintain appearances, but on the show his bright costuming always stands out from other background male characters black OR white (confirmed by the costume designer that his colors are like a flame drawing Lestat in) and the tailoring and color choices often stands in contrast to Lestat on screen next to him in a more traditional masculine (aka duller) color. I mean compare this to how romantic period dramas typically style the men and women.
Beyond the historical nods, which most tv viewers don't have detailed references to as there aren't many color images we have from that era, I think the show does a great job of connecting cultural references everyone can immediately pick up on (the Leydecker outfits were obvious examples). For example, if you think of a white stripey suit from the 1910s, the image that came to mind was probably Rose in Titanic. So even as Louis is projecting what was period standard masculinity, what the modern viewer is likely thinking of is a tailored suit worn by the female protagonist in one of the biggest movies of all time. These looks screams high fashion latest designs from Paris, decked out pampered princess of the ship ("prince of your district").
In the same vein, when you imagine an iconic green period costume you're probably thinking of Keira Knightley in Atonement. In fact if you google "green suit in period film" all the results are of women. Rarely are men put in these colors in period romances particularly. I mean I think they put Keira in that green dress simply because she looks incredibly beautiful in that color and that's also how I feel about Louis in his green outfit.
I've talked before about the use of red on Louis but looking at the actual context of when Louis wears red they are specifically scenes of lust (w/ Jonah), shame (the slutshamig w/ the soliders) or anger/revenge (killing the Alderman) and hello look at these!!
And this is really an exclusively female character trope where vivid color costuming is used to convey mood or emotion! When a man is angry or lustful in a film, he's never wearing red, he's just wearing a boring color like black or grey. Evil and goodness are conveyed by black vs. white costuming with men (i.e Lestat's evil black darth vader get up) but rarely any colors not on that b&w scale.
Also speaking of cultural references in costuming here's this again.
#iwtv#im making everyone look at the wifebeater outfits with their eyes taped open like its clockwork orange#my point is the costumes make louis even prettier while they make lestat appear powerful#(and scary)#so many outfits highlight how broad his chest is and his giant ass biceps#costume analysis

New art for @jupiterlandings of our collab magical girl Matryoshka (real name Inessa). She’s inspired by Russian nesting dolls, which is the magical item that transforms her. Each doll unlocks a new outfit and new abilities.
Inessa’s grandmother, Katya, owns an eclectic book/thrift/museum/antique shop in a tiny rural town, and one day out of the blue invites Inessa via letter to visit her. Inessa’s father and grandmother have been estranged since she was a small child due to differences in opinion on modernism vs tradition, so this letter comes out of the blue.
Inessa ends up going, only to discover that Katya has been transformed into a Pallas cat! Katya finally shares with her granddaughter their family history, and the amazing gift of magic the women in their family were given. She also tells her that it was Baba Yaga, the evil witch of fairytales, that cursed her into cat form.
It’s now up to Katya to defeat her, and save her grandmother.
#magical girl#shoujo#ocs#collab ocs#ellennart#this is her final form#I drew her first form a few years ago and that’s what’s on the first doll

im trying to phrase this in a way that makes sense and isnt too long but its not working so: if i had a zelda print jsk but coorded it with all non zelda themed stuff, would it be cosplay lolita? (and also does this apply to the AP x Mario/Sailor Moon stuff?)
(the jsk is/will be made using ur tutorials btw!! you inspired me to keep sewing and designing through my Problems™️ - plus this means it'll have good lace and the right shape etc etc, im just curious if you as a person i appreciate from across the world have an opinion on fandom references vs cosplay)
So I did a post specifically on adapting Zelda looks into lolita fashion back in 2017.
And back in April when I was still able to stand, I did a coord with a Zelda print. I made the dress back in 2016 as part of a school project, but the coord involved a lot of new lolita fashion pieces that I've obtained since then. The bottom part of the skirt is the opening graphics from Wind Waker.
The really short answer is a JSK made with a printed fabric can be lolita and isn't a cosplay, but you need to make sure that the print is suitable for lolita fashion. I did a guide on that too.
But there's plenty of dresses with Sanrio characters that aren't Hello Kitty cosplays. An interesting brand to check out with regards to this is Secret Honey, who has a lot of disney tie-in dresses. You can see the difference between a themed dress and a cosplay dress.
Cosplay is cosplay. It's the art of dressing up as a character. In many cases, that's about creating or recreating specific garments worn in the source material. In cases where specific garments aren't being used, it's about looking like the character, and wearing clothing that is like what they could have worn. A good cosplay is going to go beyond just the garment and be a complete look, a head-to-toe costume.
Different from cosplay is things like Disneybounding, of which I guess the non-Disney version would be stealth cosplay. Disneybounding is dressing up in a way that resembles or reflects a character, without wearing a costume. This comes from Disney Parks policy that adults can't be wearing costumes in the park. A Disneybound look can distinctly resemble a character, but has to be constructed of modern(ish), mainstream(ish) garments. The whole look cannot be something that would look out of place at a Denny's at 2AM.
Themed lolita falls much more into Disneybounding than it does cosplay. The main difference is that a Disneybound look is composed of mainstream fashion pieces that resemble or remind you of a character. A themed lolita look is constructed out of pieces that can stand alone as lolita pieces, but that all fit a larger theme.
For an example on my coord up there, the skirt is a themed piece. The green linen was chosen specifically to look like Link's traditional green outfit, and the print is images from the game. My ocarina necklace is also a piece that I would not normally wear with a lolita look. However, the blouse is from Innocent World, a lolita brand. The overskirt was made by a lolita brand and was designed to be a lolita overskirt. The headbows aren't Zelda-themed and can be worn with other coordinates. The legwear was just going for color balance and doesn't actually add to the concept of the coord and objectively speaking, the bottom half of the coord is too punk-themed to really work with the top half of the coord. One of the really great things about wearing lolita fashion is that you can look at past looks, recognize that you like them, but also see things to improve on in the future. This is great because it allows you to experience wearing the same pieces repeatedly without wearing the same outfits repeatedly.
Regarding theme, a lot of brands have recurring themes and characters (Usakumya and Kuma Kumya are a good pair to start your research on). They make a lot of elements that are themed after these characters, but those pieces are themed lolita pieces, and not cosplay. (If anyone has ever done an actual Usakumya cosplay, please let me know ASAP. I need to see that).
Many people who wear lolita fashion are also cosplayers, and so the community has really tried to stop using "cosplay" as a negative term to describe poorly done lolita. You'll run into "cosplay lolita" still used in context of characters like Wednesday or Misa Amane, where the author or artist decided that they wear "gothic lolita" and didn't actually do a ton of research.
This means that people who wear their source material's "gothic lolita" look are really wearing a poorly-researched outfit made by someone who didn't really know what they're doing. People will also use the term "cosplay lolita" to describe a poorly-researched outfit made by someone who didn't really know what they were doing, as if "that's the sort of outfit you'd see as a cosplay of a character." However, it's a term that's falling out of favor and really isn't very nice to cosplayers who often spend a LOT of money and time on their cosplays.

TMZAU ARCHIVE MASTERPOST
For formerly @alambiel's trashy modern zelink au.
Timeline and info, as well as the playlist I've been listening to while compiling this, come from here: https://tmzau.neocities.org
ABOUT THE AU: "the trashy modern zelink au is a semi-conceptual narrative set in modern-day hyrule where link is a renowned but unhinged student athlete who wields the master kitchen knife, and zelda is a frustrated company heir (and child of a shady businessman) who wields the power of the triforce, which is a gun. this honestly started off as a joke but i just kept on adding to it, so now i'm obsessed." "zelda and link are both nonbinary in this au, and they both use they/them pronouns. this au will also explore the themes of the apocalypse, death, maternal matters, the complex relationship between parent and child, religion, depictions of blood, disturbing dreams, and the likes. this takes place in a location called the great metropolitan hyrule."
HIGH SCHOOL ERA: "they both have prophetic nightmares telling them of an eventual armageddon that will be brought by the calamity ganon, a malicious undivinity that periodically wipes out hyrule every 10,000 years. bound together by the spirit of the goddess hylia, they are instructed by her apparition in their dreams to fend off the upcoming apocalypse. they first meet each other in tenth grade, and much to their disbelief, they also find out that they've been sharing the prophetic nightmares this whole time, like the both of them enter a fucked up dream realm together whenever they sleep. after an unpleasant fight, they separate just before college, the bond they shared over their supernatural traits left behind but not forgotten."
FIRST IMPRESSIONS "it's tenth grade, and zelda gets partnered up with a classmate for science class at the beginning of the year. the classmate isn't even paying any attention, which annoys zelda to no end. wait. what's that on their paper?"
IT WOULDN'T BE THE FIRST TIME "zelda wakes up in the dream realm. hylia introduces them to a new friend. they look… familiar. this wouldn't be the last time zelda meets them in their prophetic visions either."
NO ONE MUST KNOW "after a week of nonstop dreaming about the apocalypse and link's green arm and link's face and link's stupid knife, zelda confronts link at their locker."
LUNCH "they have lunch and zelda quizzes link about their dreams. zelda deduces that hylia likes to play favorites, which is strange because… hylia feels like a mother to them."
HIGH SCHOOL OUTFIT VS COLLEGE "just a comparison between one of zelda's high school outfits and the one they wear for the first part of their college life"
URBOSA "it's urbosa! zelda's cool godmother and gerudo noble looking so snazzy in their traditional wear."
COLLEGE ERA: "link moves to brazil to start seriously training for competing in sports, seeing as they're the youngest most successful soccer player in the world. meanwwhile , zelda stays behind in hyrule to study business administration in entertainment management, preparing to take over their father's talent agency. they would stay separated, that is, until link breaks a bone at the olympics and has an epiphany. link moves back to hyrule to attend the university zelda studies in for their second year, as well as making a news spectacle of themself. zelda, as it turns out, is the last to find out."
WORLD'S YOUNGEST PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLER BREAKS DOWN AFTER INJURY "the great nation of hyrule 7s national team captain link mabe was forced to withdraw from the brazil 20XX summer olympics after sustaining a debilitating and bloody injury to one of their legs on the football pitch last week, the 19th of august."
LINK'S EPIPHANY "it's the olympics, you're on the ground and you can't stop crying."
ALL BETS ARE OFF "since healing their leg, link has returned to tending to soccer goals much to the great metropolitan hyrule varsity team's pleasure. zelda bets lon lon milks on link's goals: for every goal they miss, they buy zelda one at the local pub. link deliberately misses a few just to play catch up with them."
ZEL.HARKZ "zelda has followed you on instagram. do you follow back?"
NEW CUT "zelda hates business management. zelda hates their father. zelda hates companies. they beg link to cut their hair with the magical knife that cuts through anything as an act of defiance."
BARK LIKE A GOD "just a fancy piece of zelda on their little throne loveseat. newfound confidence and all. also quick little doodle of link emitting the same threatening vibes"
MIPHA "she's an e-girl. that's it that's the post"
SLEEPOVER / GUNS "they are bonding! they have a sleepover, zelda has dual pistols"
OF TATTOOS AND CAR RIDES "played around with some pinterest outfits, designing zelda's leg tattoo, and thinking about them in a car"
DATING ERA : LIPSTICK / BURNER PHONE / BOYFRIEND "just a few fluffy pieces! zelda has a burner phone to contact link because of… reasons."
MAIN OUTFITS "this is going to be their main outfits for the following end times. zelda's blue suit has some kind of divine influences, i think they get the outfit right after they get the gun to signify that from that point on, it's all business and no play. link's soccer uniform is due to see some worse days. yes, that's the sweatband of the wild and the letterman of the wild. at some point they get the legwarmers of the wild as well."
ZELDA GETS A GUN "zelda wakes up in the dream realm once again, but this time hylia takes on the form of a being so large that zelda can't accurately comprehend her size. it almost blinds them. they retrieve the sealing power of the triforce, which materializes into a ranged weapon that launches pellets of goddess light. basickally gun has been got, babey!"
TESTING! "zelda tests their new gun at the korok gun range."
YIGA CHASE "just a concept of link's sheikah-made motorcycle with zelda at the back shooting at whoever's in pursuit of them."
THE COMING OF ARMAGEDDON "link and zelda wait for whoever -or whatever- is on the other side of the door."
FIRST CONCEPTS : DUMP 1 / DUMP 2 "this is where i first got the idea for the trashy au… litrally just gave zelda a gun and pulled up some soccer poses and then, the rest is history!! i really want to stick to the vibes of this one where they're both just feral af."
OUR TIME IS RUNNING OUT "zelda's running out of smokes. link's dreaming of some awful things. they're both running out of time. inspired by this song."
ASSORTED OTHER PIECES FOUND: Just some other, unlisted pieces relating to tmzau.

ok I slept hi good morning anyway I see we're still having a november 5th situation in the tags and still arguing over which sub zero it is so. let me tell you why Im not that bothered until we see names and the actual plot
WHY MAKE THEM BROTHERS IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Let's start with scorpion. what makes scorpion scorpion? Being a ninja, a shirai ryu to be precise, a yellow outfit, fire, dying and coming back for revenge with said fire, the rope spear, and the funny catchphrase.
mk12 scorpion is lin kuei, he has a lin kuei badge. This strikes me as more wrong than being brothers with a sub zero because the lengths OUR scorpion went to in the previous timelines are heavily motivated over how scorpion loves and grieves his family AND CLAN. so why is he shown to belong in his enemy clan at the beginning of this game's story? Why would firegod liu kang create a timeline that robs his fellow pyromancer of his identity?
My theory is that this scorpion is gonna be the founder of this timeline's shirai ryu. He even has a scorpion tattoo. It would make sense for the clan to adopt the emblem that was on the skin of their founder.
It would also keep in line with the theme of choice in the game said by liu kang in the first trailer: will you fight as enemies or united as brothers? If the game starts with the brothers fighting alongside one another, maybe you will have a choice to keep the family united, but maybe you can make the heartbreaking decision to break them appart, which would result of this lin kuei scorpion defecting, and found the shirai ryu we know, and also kickstart the clans rivalry... you'd keep things as they were, but there's a tragedy in doing so as the brothers would fight each other.
And THAT'S a sub zero thing. Brothers fighting each other.
Now what makes sub zero? Being an assassin from an ancient chinese clan, wearing a blue outfit, being a cryomancer, having brotherly drama, and the conflict of tradition vs change.
Bi-han is a pure product of the lin kuei, he was the top assassin, he liked how things were or at the very least didnt questionned them, he was ruthless and cunning, he changed against his will when he was killed, but that change just fed into his worst traits.
Kuai Liang welcomes change, its how he was able to get the sub zero mantle after all, also please note that his desire to avenge his brother is fairly recent as it was almost an afterthought to him in the og timeline. Anyway he is the sub zero that wants to change the lin kuei for the better after he deems they went too far with the cyberization (which shows he still values a bit of tradition as well), and in the most recent timeline, he's the one who offered peace to hanzo and the shirai ryu.
If the backstory of both clans is still legit, kuai liang and hanzo's generations were the closest at uniting the clans after a rift between them happened at one point. And if Im right, we will be able to experience that rift first-hand in the upcoming game
Again I think thats what the game is gonna go for. Will you make this sub zero more like bi-han? or more like kuai liang? So far in what we've seen he has a bit of that bi-han edge, but I really dont think its meant to literally BE him.
Also for the argument that "Dam, if the lin kuei/shirai ryu division is even legit, it happened ages ago and we just saw johnny's alive huge ass with his huge modern villa and kenshi in a suit" well the timeline is already funky anyway: kitana and mileena are in free edenia and mileena is undergoing tarkatanization in the presence of kenshi in the trailer. It looks like everything is happening at the same time.
Maybe thats the point of this game: firegod liu kang wanted to create a timeline as peaceful as possible but some things will just have to stay the same, so hes giving us the choice: to keep the peace as weird and ooc as it feels or to let tragedy happen but tragedy we know.
#if im wrong im gonna fistfight nrs because I KNOW my logic has to be a little bit sound#also if you keep on shipping subscorp in the ONE (1) instance where theyre brothers youre dumb and gross and lack critical thinking#and im blocking your stupid ass#anyway this has been yet another ''chill out for now'' post by dam regarding subz & scorpy#tagging later#mortal kombat#scorpion#sub zero

Subtext vs Plain Text: Multi-Tracking in TOH
So a disclaimer first: I am someone who DRASTICALLY prefers your basic story functions before you try to tell me what the deeper meanings of it are because, you know... If I don’t like your base story, why should I care about your subtext? If I’m questioning how this functions, claiming you’re smart for breaking your own rules isn’t going to make me turn around. And this is kind of the entire vibe I get from Hexide’s allowance of people to study multiple tracks. I’ll actually talk about the metatext first as I’ve seen others point out: It’s a commentary against modern school systems where kids are forced to learn a curriculum set by others specifically for a specific subset of jobs, commonly office or factory jobs. There is a lack of self expression and even self identity in these curriculums and it’s always justified with you needing it for the sake of your future. Even Willow plainly states she’s in abominations because of the job prospects which any Humanities or History major will feel in their soul. TOH presents instead the idea that self expression and experimentation are good and help advance kids more than simply trying to slot them into a one size fits all curriculum. That they need to be allowed to experiment and have a wide variety of experiences or to follow that which they are passionate about doing as an adult. For a kid’s show, it’s not terrible and it will resonate with many kids who feel abandoned by traditional school systems. The outcasts. The target demographic of the show in theory. And it’s not so radical as to seem completely dumb about these things. Until, you know, you spend five seconds thinking about the context of the show itself. In universe, there is a VERY basic explanation for why kids would focus on one track of magic. It’s literally illegal for them to do otherwise as grown ups. That’s not an over exaggeration or the like even. Because every coven in the world only allows one type of magic, and being outside of a coven is illegal, every multi-tracking student has two options: Join the Emperor’s Coven, which is depicted as difficult (at least until Sport in a Storm but that’s another blog), or becoming a wild witch which ranges from imprisonment, being forced into a random coven or just straight up execution. Quite literally the change to allow multi-tracking is setting up the kids for failure and death. If they can’t make it into the EC and compromise by going into a single track coven, they’ll be weaker than anyone else there because they aren’t as focused in their discipline. If they don’t compromise, they literally become outlaws. And Bump theoretically knows this. He was raised under Belos’ rule and likely would have been in school as the whole system changed to be based around the covens. Around what the new world order was. And as a pragmatist, the single tracks would have been befitting for that new order but allowing people the ability to swap if they showed an aptitude for another track is a good compromise. And the fact that all of these kids are setup for failure kind of undermines the subtext, doesn’t it? But if you ask why it was done besides to comment on the subtext, there isn’t really an answer. Hexide is never a major part of rebelling against Belos, never much of a driver for Luz to decide covens are inherently bad, especially since this subtext and plain text is mostly in her first day at the school so she can have a special, rainbow outfit when at school, so... Why just blatantly ignore your world building like that? Unless it’s just to get on a soapbox and preach about your ideas? Because even if I agree with your assessment, screeching it incoherently in the middle of Disneyland while I’m trying to enjoy it is only going to sour me on your message, if I hear it at all.

Fashion Contest Anxiety! - Style Savvy: Trendsetters #07
[Previous Post] [First Post] [Next Post]
Hey, it's been a while! I pretty much played all of Fashion Dreamer since the last check-in. But we're back now, and it's time for the first fashion contest,
I've heard they're different than the 'fashion shows' I've done in 'Style Savvy: Fashion Forward', and many claim there even better! ...But First! new outfit of the day!
It's nothing too different, and this game lacks a photo studio, so I'll show it off more as we go... Anyways, so last time we unlocked mens fashion, I have not messed with it much, but I did mange to progress the plot enough to unlock the first fashion contest!
So lets see what this is all about, I'm going in mostly blind, so I don't know what to expect. In 'fashion forward' it was not really even a mini game, they were fun, but it was more about just designing an outfit to fit the theme beforehand, but once you started, all you could do is like pose and wave at the crowed, and I don't think those motions effected your score. It was just a fun little extra activity that was more about the prep, with the event just being a way to enjoy your work. So let's see how they work this time...
So we only have access to the beginner contest right now, And it looks like they actually give out clothing as a reward,
The first theme is the academic style 'preppy', and want to take a wild guess as to what brand I have not unlocked yet? XD And wow, I have not started my outfit yet, and this is already very different:
You don't participate in the shows yourself, but instead pick a model to represent your outfit, and take care of all the prep personally.
They each have their own profile, and bio. But it can be hard to pick when I don't yet have an outfit in mind. I think Jean best fits the general style I'm going for, but we'll see... Ok, a quick search says I have 83 items that qualify, so let's see what I have to work with... Ok, are you ready? How about....
It's always hard working with a style you're not used to, I also considered going with tights instead of the socks, It can be weird as a guy, trying to design a female outfit and deciding how much leg to show, (or skin in general) But I figured based on the limited options I had this just looked better overall.
The only tights I had were just 'too much', the pattern did not feel like a good fit, the color felt all wrong, and overall it was just too distracting. The socks just felt like the perfect fit, and I still this is a fairly modest and cute design! (But again with any of my designs feel free to post a comment with feedback/suggestions.)
Ok, with that done on to the next step:
..And this is where I realized I have no idea what 'preppy' hair looks like! Can I at least get some reference photos?
Oh geez, why are all these highlights soo bright!?!?
ahh! what do you mean the there's no custom makeup option? You have like 6 different brands here, but nothing preppy? I guess we're gonna wing it then! It Eventually came down to these two: Stunning Chic (327) vs Bittersweat Beauty (578)
I really liked (Left) a bit more at first, it seemed a bit more reserved but still very stylish, so it seemed like a perfect fit for my design. But the more I loom at right, the more I think it's just eye-catching enough to draw attention, without betraying the look. The eye color is a much better fit, and the brighter colors all around feel flashy enough to give it that fashion show edge, without being to intense for the outfit. (I guess.. I don't really know much about this stuff, haha)
Anyways, were all done here, off to the show!
All the contestants brought great outfits, I really like the first with the punk-rock ascetics, the second has a nice modern look, and the third has a nice clean look contrasting with the ripped jeans, very cool, in comparison mine looked very traditional... And in the end.. the winner was...
Us! We actually manged to pull it off, without even having a 'preppy' brand available, I guess there was enough crossover to make it work!
Overall, I had a lot of fun, and I can see why some people were upset these were changed for the sequel.
'Fashion Shows' and 'Fashion Contests' may seem very similar, and I don't really know how the judging works, but the selecting a model, aspect really forces you to change up how you design, both outfits and makeup/hair. ...and the fact that that (unlike in Fashion Forward) your not just competing against your friends, over and over who also make you design their outfits.. makes it feel more like a competition, rather than a fun hangout. I still love Fashion Forward, and had a blast with the shows, it's just kinda sad to see them downplayed from the previous game. I'm a bit worried that I only saw two icons on the 'fashion contest' screen, So I'm going to assume 'beginner' and 'advanced' with shifting themes each time you run them, That would be a bit sad if true though.. Edit: I looked it up the game has 4 contests, Beginner Contest, Premier Contest, Elite Contest and the International Contest. ...Anyways I guess I'm famous now!
Well, I've hit the 30 image limit, So I think this is a good stopping point for today! Thanks for reading! I'm really enjoying blogging my style savvy Journey! ...And if you're just here for the cute screenshots,I appreciate you too! [Next Post]

hello Mr axel jounoparticles it's time for me to yap about the hunting dogs again before I forget it
so I'm reading the airport arc (I was mainly an anime watcher, I got peaks of the manga but never really read it fully ANYWAY) and I remember how akutagawa and chuuya got new more modern outfits and I'm like "hehe silly guys no more Victorian child" and then I started Thinking and I'm like....
the hunting dogs possibly has the most modern wardrobe in the whole cast. the agency has formal not normal clothes (it's mostly formal and almost normal, but still most of them would stand out in a crowd.) and the mafia is.... mafia (more traditional mobster clothes.)
even in their official art they have alternatives to traditional clothing. tecchou and tachihara both have leather belts as obi, fukuchi has a leather jacket as a haori, and jouno isn't even wearing traditional Japanese clothing. he's wearing a button down, his sweater is giving the illusion of it. the only person that could be seen as completely traditional is teruko. she's got the whole nines.
also you can look back at the tecchou/kenji fight and fukuzawa/fukuchi fight and. outfits. outfits very different.
it's really neat!!! it gives an idea of old vs new, traditional vs modern. I like it. I think it's cool.
also off topic but why did they give tachihara the most horrendous fit of all time.
it’s really neat! honestly one of the huge appeals in character design for me is outfits and bsd has to be my favourite example of this ever. everyone dresses very nicely.
other than the official art you provided, we haven’t really seen the hunting dogs out of uniform (besides tachihara in the mafia, fukuchi in flashbacks, and jouno when he arrested dazai). jouno dresses very modern, just wore a basic blue suit if i recall correctly. nothing too fancy.
i know there’s a lot of bsd official art of the characters wearing traditional clothing which i find really nice! i love seeing different cultural clothes :) and the twists on the pictures you provided are really neat. adding a touch of modernity to tradition. very cool !!
i wonder how tetchou dresses normally. like he has me absolutely lost. i know he either dresses like chuuya-level nice or just in the most casual clothes ever. i feel he would prioritize physical comfort and practicality over something fancy.
in contrast, i feel jouno would actually be the opposite; wanting to appear formal to be respected and prioritizing that over anything else.
fukuchi i feel dresses very casually normally. almosy a complete opposite to fukuzawa who is always dressing formally. i would just see this as a contrast for the two. like i could see him rocking the leather jacket normally.
teruko im sort of lost for. i’d imagine she dresses comfortably but also something she can manipulate easily. not to be a nitpicker but when she transformed into an adult-body in the sky casino arc i wonder how her clothes changed size as well. because of this i now hc her clothes are made of rubber. she probably needs to always wear something stretchy because of that.
i guess i could use the same nitpick with jouno being able to transform his clothes into particles but like. whatever it’s bsd not everything makes sense.
i feel like tachihara normally dresses like how he does in the mafia. fairly casual and cool. not much else to add. he could probably rock sunglasses.
anyways everyone in bsd is super stylish and if we don’t get more casual hunting dogs outfits soon i will approach asagiri’s with a sign of protest /silly

Adventuring outfits vs Formal wear.
So now I get to talk about gameplay. If I were ever to make this into a game. You would get to play all three characters. Kind of like triforce heroes only each character has there own skills.
Link have his traditional combat item’s etc. But he also be a sailor, so you get to explore the sea like in Windwaker, but you could also dive into the water to face underwater temples from the oot games.
Zelda’s would be more of the Puzzle solver. In this world canonically the toons created guardians and the sheikah slate so that would be Zelda main item. She also have a pistol to. Oh and know how to drive a train.
As for Zan he would get to have the wolf element of twilight princess. Being able to transform into a beast of some kind. Part of me wants to make him have 4 animals transformations that reflect the divine beast. Or just have one and be a lion.
It would be a open world game like botw. Only just add the great sea to the botw map sense its just basically a modern version of spirit tracks.
So yeah hope you guys enjoy!

How to Choose The Right Tuxedo For Different Events
How to Choose The Right Tuxedo For Different Events
Tuxedos are a classic and sophisticated choice for formal events, but choosing the right one can be a challenge. The right tuxedo will not only make you look great, but it will also ensure that you are dressed appropriately for the occasion. Here are some tips for choosing the right tuxedo for different events.
Black Tie: For a traditional black tie event, choose a black wool tuxedo with a shawl collar and a single-button closure. The jacket should have satin-faced lapels and a matching black satin stripe down the outside of each pant leg. Black patent leather shoes and a black bow tie are also essential for this classic look.
White Tie: For a white tie event, choose a full-dress tailcoat with a black wool tailcoat, black silk trousers, and a white wing-collared shirt. A white bow tie, black patent leather shoes, and white gloves complete this formal look.
Creative Black Tie: For a more modern take on the classic black tie, choose a tuxedo with a unique jacket design or a colorful bow tie. Experiment with different textures and materials, such as velvet or silk, to add a touch of personality to your outfit.
Semi-Formal: For a semi-formal event, choose a dark colored tuxedo, such as navy or charcoal, and pair it with a classic white dress shirt and a black bow tie. A vest or cummerbund can also be added for a pop of color.
Destination Wedding: For a destination wedding, opt for a lighter weight tuxedo in a lighter color, such as cream or light gray, to accommodate for the warm weather. A linen or cotton tuxedo can be a great choice for this type of event.
In conclusion, choosing the right tuxedo for a formal event is all about understanding the dress code and finding the perfect balance between style and appropriateness. With these tips, you'll be sure to look your best at any formal event.
Tuxedo Accessories: Ties Vs. Bows
When it comes to accessorizing a tuxedo, the choices often come down to ties versus bows. While both are popular options, each has its own unique style and benefits that make it the right choice for certain occasions. Here’s a guide to help you choose between the two.
Ties: Ties are a versatile option for formal events. They come in a wide range of colors and patterns, making it easy to find one that matches your personal style and the event’s dress code. Ties can also be made from different materials, including silk, satin, and polyester, which can affect the look and feel of the tie. For a more traditional look, opt for a black silk tie. For a more modern look, choose a tie in a bold color or pattern.
Bows: Bow ties are a classic choice for black tie events. They add a touch of sophistication and elegance to a formal outfit and are an excellent way to showcase your personality. Unlike ties, bow ties come in a limited range of colors and patterns, but they are all timeless and classic. They are also more difficult to tie than regular ties, so consider hiring a professional to help you get the perfect knot.
When choosing between ties and bows, consider the dress code of the event and your personal style. If the dress code is strict and requires a traditional look, a bow tie may be the way to go. If you want to add some personality to your outfit, a tie may be the better choice.
the choice between ties and bows is a personal one. Whether you prefer the versatility of a tie or the timeless elegance of a bow, both options can add the perfect touch of sophistication to a tuxedo. Whichever you choose, be sure to wear it with confidence and enjoy the occasion.
Your Tie Adds Class To Your Tuxedo
Ties are one of the most important accessories for men, and there are many different tie models to choose from. Whether you’re looking for something to wear to a formal event or just a casual day out, there’s a tie for you. Here are some of the most popular tie models to help you make the right choice.
The classic four-in-hand tie is the most common type of tie. It’s a slim, narrow tie that’s usually made of silk or other fine fabrics. The four-in-hand tie is usually worn with a suit and is the most versatile type of tie. It’s also the most affordable option.
The Windsor knot is a larger and more formal tie than the four-in-hand. It’s typically made of a thicker fabric, such as wool or silk, and is usually worn with a suit. The knot is also larger and is often used for special occasions.
The bow tie is a type of necktie that is tied in a bow shape. It’s usually made of silk or other fine fabrics and is usually worn with a suit. Bow ties are often seen as a more formal option and are usually worn with a tuxedo.
The ascot tie is a type of necktie that is tied in a loop around the neck. It’s usually made of a thicker fabric, such as wool or silk, and is usually worn with a suit. The ascot tie is a more formal option and is often seen at formal events.
The necktie is a type of necktie that is tied in a knot at the neck. It’s usually made of a thicker fabric, such as wool or silk, and is usually worn with a suit. The necktie is a more formal option and is often seen at formal events.
The cravat is a type of necktie that is tied in a knot at the neck. It’s usually made of a thicker fabric, such as wool or silk, and is usually worn with a suit. The cravat is a more formal option and is often seen at formal events.

Charles may have reasons beyond paternal affection to want to rehab Harry's image: he might want a pawn he can use as a counter to William, if William ever decides to truly push for a de-facto soft regency.
William has the Establishment - V. Low's Courtiers made this very very clear.
Harry used to have the Public - which is now split unequally between King and Heir, and not in Charles' favour.
*a lot of people may see nothing wrong with all of these, and even actively like the Middleton's aesthetic and communication style: congratulations, you're middle class!
They're Royals, they don't have an actual function beyond existing, scheming against each other is how they fill their days. Honestly the scheming is the most intriguing part of Royal watching.
Harry however is a wild card, not guarantees he'll stick to his lines once he's back. He'll always be one interview away from disaster. Aren't we entertained?
What do you have against the middle class, anon?

Classic vs. Modern Stripes: Finding the Right Stripe Pattern for You
Stripes have been with the fashion world for centuries. From nautical uniforms to high fashion catwalks, stripes have maintained their place as a timeless pattern that can be both elegant and casual. But the evolution in design has brought us two styles: the classic stripe, offering tradition,; and the modern stripes, bringing fresh-and-bold twists into your wardrobe. Having the knowledge of these two will help you decide which stripe pattern works best for you.
Classic Stripes: The Timeless Tradition
Classic stripes are rooted in history and carry a sense of sophistication and consistency. These stripes are typically uniform in width and evenly spaced, creating a sense of order and calm. Often seen in the form of horizontal or vertical lines, classic stripes evoke a sense of tradition and can be found in many iconic wardrobe pieces. Key Characteristics of Classic Stripes: Consistent Widths: Classic stripes tend to have stripes of uniform width, giving a sense of order and balance. Simple Color Combinations: The most common colors for classic stripes are neutral tones such as navy, white, or black. The simplicity of the design allows it to remain timeless. Even Spacing: Classic stripes are spaced evenly, making them feel well-organized and refined. Popular in Traditional Styles: Striped shirts and tailored pieces often feature classic stripes.
Why Choose Classic Stripes?
Classic stripes are elegant and subtle. If you want to have a pattern that is sleek yet fashionable, then classic stripes would do the trick for you. They look great in business casual settings or any occasion requiring a clean and structured appearance. For someone who prefers classic styling, a striped shirt for men or a tailored suit with pinstripes is great. Classic stripes are also perfect for someone looking for versatile designs that won't look out of place from day to night.
Modern Stripes: Bold, Creative, and Expressive
Modern and contemporary stripes, on the contrary, are open to experimentation. The stripes may by width, color, or even sometimes by breaking the classic style of perfect symmetry. Modern stripe designs come across as bolder statements; thus they introduce energy into an outfit, which will give one's look a certain edge.
Key Characteristics of Modern Stripes:
Varied Widths: Modern stripes often feature a mix of narrow and wide lines, creating a more abstract and dynamic visual effect. Bright, Bold Colors: Unlike the muted tones of classic stripes, modern stripes may incorporate vibrant colors like red, green, or neon shades, making them stand out. Irregular Spacing: The spacing between stripes might vary, adding a more relaxed and creative feel to the pattern. Contemporary Styling: Men's striped shirts online and casual wear often feature modern stripes.
Why Choose Modern Stripes?
Modern stripes are all about saying something. They are very great for people who love to be unique and convey their individuality through clothing. For someone trying to infuse his wardrobe with energy, modern stripes are a perfect choice.
The casual settings such as weekend outings or relaxed office environment perfectly suit these stripes. They also fit those who want to add some modern touches into their look, be it a striking striped jacket or one striped shirt online with bold patterns.
Classic vs. Modern Stripes: Which One Suits You? Both classic and modern stripes have their unique advantages. The key to finding the right stripe pattern for you lies in considering your style preferences, the occasion, and how you want to present yourself. Factors to Consider: Occasion: For formal settings, classic stripes are a safe bet, as they are neat and sophisticated. Modern stripes, on the other hand, work better in casual environments or when you’re looking to make a more youthful statement. Body Type: Vertical classic stripes can elongate your body, making them a great choice for shorter individuals. If you prefer more dynamic looks, modern horizontal stripes or oversized patterns can add volume and create a bolder silhouette. Personal Style: If you prefer understated, timeless clothing that pairs well with almost anything, classic stripes are your go-to. For those who love to experiment with color and design, modern stripes are an exciting option. Classic Stripes: Perfect for… Best striped shirts for men for a tailored look. A timeless, sophisticated style. Individuals seeking an easy-to-wear, versatile design. Modern Stripes: Ideal for… Casual wear, including cotton striped shirts for men. Making bold fashion statements. Expressing individuality through clothing.
How to Incorporate Stripes Into Your WardrobeNo matter which stripe style you choose, incorporating stripes into your wardrobe can elevate your everyday style. Here are a few simple ideas to get started: Classic Stripe Shirt: A navy and white striped shirt for men is an easy addition to any wardrobe. It pairs well with chinos, jeans, or even a blazer for a smart-casual look. Bold Stripe Sweater: For a modern take on stripes, opt for a sweater with wide, contrasting stripes in bright colors. This can become the focal point of your outfit, making it ideal for a weekend outing.
