Intro Post Yippee!!
Who am I?- How I tag things (+ Trigger Tags) - Boundaries- Before you Follow
Who am I?
♡ I am Travis or Mint. Name might change, still figuring that out.
♡ Previous Usernames (pink is for tumblr names): spacekids, gummieshark, angelthlng. I use minthardcore on other websites.
♡ I use they/them, it/its, ny/nym pronouns (ny/nym is basically just he/him pronouns but replace the h with n and the i with y. Do not he/him me).
♡18
♡ Sapphic, aromantic, generally queer and a-spec, nonbinary, therian/otherkin/dog/alien/deer thing 👍
♡ I primarily post digital art (I use Procreate (or IbisPaintX, not super often tho) w/ an I Pad + Apple Pencil or I use jspaint with a trackpad), but I do a lot of traditional art (graphite, colored pencil, gouache, pastels, collage- basically any medium I can get my hands on. Primarily graphite though). I also knit and dabble in other physical arts like that. One of my favorite projects I've done is making a lithograph print. I’ve also made a long furby and my current pipe dream is to make a BJD.
♡ I have a buncha things wrong with me. Many are undiagnosed. Some are. You will never know.
♡ Games/Books/Comics/Shows Interests- Half Life but the AI is Self Aware, Half Life, a lot of other Half Life extant media, TF2, Dungeon Meshi, DND, Fin fin (on teo the magic planet), I have no mouth and I must scream, the Bible/Christianity (I am not Christian I just think it's neat), MLP, Portal, Mouthwashing, Elden Lied
♡ General Interests- Angels, Armor (specifically medieval european armor), Wizards, biology, conservation, activism, aliens, plushies & dolls, furbies and extant media. I like Nu Metal, 80's-90's pop, K&J-Pop, Country, Rap, and a lot of other genres! I love music and listening to things.
How I tag things
♡ Not Mine- Self explanatory. Posts that are not mine that I’ve reblogged.
♡ Mine- Writing, drawing, or other things I post.
♡ Sorta mine/kinda mine/stepchild post- Usually a reblog response/ collaboration that I feel I haven’t contributed to enough for it to be mine.
♡ Important/Fundraiser- Important resources or fundraiser I encourage y’all to check out.
♡ Travid Art- My Art
♡ Travid Doodles- Doodles/WIPS
♡ travid barks- Random thoughts I have
♡ Textpost- My textposts
♡ Good shit- Stuff I really like!
♡ I have other things I tag a lot but they’re pretty inconsistent. I go through cycles of tagging random stuff.
♡ I only put fandom tags on my own original posts, not on reblogs.
♡ Trigger/Content Tags I use- blood, gore, firearms, artistic nudity, suggestive, nsft, nsft text, flash, flashing, eyestrain, suicide joke
Boundaries
♡ Likes w/ no reblogs- Absolutely!
♡ Rambling in reblogs- Please! I love to hear people’s thoughts on my stuff :)
♡ Tagging me/Messaging me about stuff- Sure! If you think I’d like something, lmk!
♡ Using my art as a PFP or banner (or as anything else)- Please ask and credit me.
♡ Reposting (not reblogging, re-uploading my stuff here or on another site)- Ask me and I might make an acceptation, but usually no. If you're going to do it at least credit me and link my post though.
♡ Requests- Sure! If I like your idea I might draw it. If your idea doesn’t interest me I won’t draw it. You are not entitled to my time. I am not going to draw your dog. Unless it’s cute.
♡DMs- Sure! Again, you are not entitled to my time but if you want to DM me, feel free.
♡ Critiques- Sure! I’m always looking to improve and if something looks weird, lmk! Art is a hobby for me. I do not have a lot of time to spend on it. Do not be rude/condescending and do not be mad if I don’t follow your advice.
♡ I am not responsible for anyone else’s mental health. I am not an art machine. I am not a therapist. I do not owe anyone anything. You do not need to know everything about me. I'm fine sharing about my personal experiences, but if I say "no" I mean it and I will block if pressed.
♡ I struggle a lot with social cues. If I do something that makes you uncomfortable, let me know!
Before You Follow
♡ I can't really control who interacts w/ me, so this is purely a b4 u follow/ DNF (i'm using this acronym. i'm sorry to all who know).
♡ Don't follow if ur under 16- I post weird shit. Get outta here.
♡ DNF Pro-Israel people, Eco fascists, people who actually like Joe Biden, libertarians, radqueers and radfems- just don’t follow if you’re a dick. Also goes for bigots & rightwingers obvi.
♡ Softer DNF if you think that like. Extreme kinks are problematic? I'm into gore and I don't think fiction 1-to-1 applies to reality.
♡That being said DNI if you get off to irl abusive/problematic media. Like not CNC or whatever but snuff type stuff
♡ I'm uninterested in debating ppl about my boundaries. I don't have to talk to you. Why do you even want to talk to someone who doesn't want to talk to you? Goober.
♡ I don’t care what media you like. I am highly critical of certain medias, and I am not responsible for warning you about that. If you will have a meltdown over criticism of your favorite show, assume I hate it and don’t follow.
♡ If you're going to get upset at me about media I like, do not. I will not engage in that. I was a DSMP fan when I was 13. I have been to too many rodeos to care. I'm usually pretty good at acknowledging faults in medias I consume. If u want to point out something I miss, go ahead! But I'm probably aware of, like, the weird undertones of Elfen Lied.
♡I engage with NSFW creators. I might reblog explicit or NSFW posts. I might not tag them because my bar for explicit/NSFW content is pretty high (I went to art museums as a kid so nudity isn't inherently erotic to me and I'm bad at reading intent). I tag explicit stuff with "NSFT" and related tags. If you have a problem with that, do not follow.
♡ I'm not going to post explicit NSFW, but I draw nudity (not full frontal nudity, just topless stuff :P). I will tag it as such but be warned.
♡ I also do a wee bit of horny posting (horny tagging? idk), so beware.
♡ I block somewhat conservatively, but I do block people if I dislike them enough.
♡Ik DNI lists are sooo last season but I'm mainly putting this here to cut my losses. I don't really check the pages of ppl who follow/interact with me, but if I catch a whiff of this stuff I'll block. So yk. We can prevent this from happening if you dont follow me or if you block me first <3.

It's way past my bedtime ans my cat is sleeping-purring next to me but I thought I'd post the process of the @ailani-reillata Ailaniversary art I made today just to talk a bit more about it
Disclaimer: doing traditional art is cool until you need to scan it or post a picture of it 😂 also kinda long post below so ofc no obligation at all to read it!
Phase one: Sketching the Idea
My inspiration for the posture was a Yara Flor comic strip I found on Pinterest. Yara looks over her shoulder and her hair falls on the side of her face, and I loved the way it framed her face and thought it would look great with Ailani's hair.
I drew a little doodle on the page to help me visualize how the hair would be divided, and focused on 3 main parts (the lines, the bubbles, the empty space) which would - supposedly- help me during the lineart stage. Below are images of the final sketch.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e1d254b64d59edbae570277da6dd512c/05d33382ee357501-32/s540x810/349a51073db067501a3445bfb6bf7a4e4615312d.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bb1add891274f67ca7ff8c9651644167/05d33382ee357501-30/s640x960/ea418f6d42d68c2388e5ff77b322a5b770a1ac8e.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bdab57148524a2c5135bff90ad285cab/05d33382ee357501-6e/s540x810/585203d19661340dc7596ea5c39bb4e8785e59d6.jpg)
I was hesitant on adding details to her arms, such as the folds of a dress, but I was so anxious about ruining the drawing I abandonzd that idea. I was considering adding her tattoos and was still not decided at this stage of the drawing.
Phase 2: Line-ing the Art
Is that even a real word? Idk, I'm too tired to English properly so we will say it is. Following the sketching phase was naturalle the lineart phase, which is one of my favorite stage when drawing. I bought new inking pens too so I was able to test them out, and it went quite well!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/05f7ba1a56c113501593c0c96676e3ca/05d33382ee357501-c9/s540x810/210eaddafe2c0623e1b47703ab524bc223d97666.jpg)
As you can see, the ribbons, outline of the skin and facial features have been done with my new pens, and i was quite happy with the result! It gives a more natural look to the whole drawing in my opinion.
At this stage I decided not to add her arm tattoos and consider this version of Ailani as the one you would find in the early chapters of Begged and Borrowed Time, so before she would get her tattoos.
Phase 2.5: Line-ing the Hair
This stage has it's own part because it was really fun to do! The inspiration for the way I draw hair comes from @/ssavaart (aka Scott Christian Sava on Youtube). I've been following him for a while now and I'm trying to push my art beyond my comfort zone and try new stuff thanks to him, and having fun with drawing hair is one of these things!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c67eb377e53a10852266af904ce753f5/05d33382ee357501-a5/s640x960/cdbde50fe74b61b13060799d7fc431efd5a7aade.jpg)
Look how beautiful these curls are. I'm not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but I'm really proud of the drawing at this stage 😂 it's the perfect moment where the inking went well and I have not yet ridked myself with the watercolours - so I always take a long sight (and tons of pictures) to celebrate reaching this stage without incidents.
Phase 3: Watercolours
Here comes the difficult part. It always makes me nervous because I always fear ruining my drawing and all the efforts I put into it by doing the watercolours. But I love the medium too much and if I want to get better I need to practice. So, testing the waters, I finally dive head first into this crucial stage.
The watercolouring goes well, I'm overall satisfied enough to take some pictures and even try to scan it, with the hope that the scanned rendering will be better than the usual "photographing and editing" I do with my phone.
Spoiler alert: the scan was NOT better than the pictures, and no amount of editing could change that. (Or maybe I am just very bad at editing.) So, back to my "photographing and editing" habits, I somehow managed to get a good enough result:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cf959a341ab22396b290ca624666e811/05d33382ee357501-14/s540x810/5e0e2ea5b2c963237bdc98b82ecba8bb3a27a112.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8ee5aa8dcad2a33d575e3e2b88a54968/05d33382ee357501-dc/s540x810/88af02fbe08a1a5b25e1ac541f2178f0de1042ef.jpg)
I still feel unsatisfied as I find these digital versions do not properly render the visuals I have on paper, IRL. With the digital versionsw the hair is either so dark we don't see the details, or too bright, the colours are too warm and light... And while Ailani looks light-skinned, the paper version has these visible brown tones that I struggled to find on the digital version, even when editing the pictures. The closest I got is the tone you see on the first picture, but the image is not lighted enough so the overall quality of the picture is a bit lessened by that.
Still, I won't complain too much, because overall it was a very fun drawing to do, I enjoyed every stage of it and I would love to do another piece like this! But for now I will go to sleep because it is Way Past My Bedtime 😂
If you've made it this far, thank you for your attention, feel free to let me know which stage is your favorite and what you liked most (or disliked most) about this drawing!
I for one really had fun doing Ailani's lips, as well as filling her hair, and colouring her eyes! 😊
#ailani#ailani art#I'm tagging just in case you wanna see more but again no obligation to read all of that or anything!#this post is mostly here to show the early stages coz I was so prouf of how smoothly it went!!#until the colours#it's always the colours 😂#but I hope you enjoyed the drawing anyway#I've actually been working on it last weekend but couldn't finish it until this saturday because of my exams week#which is over btw which means i finally has time to read Begged And Borrowed Time!!#and I'm really excited about that!!#so yeah that's all for me now is time to sleep because it's like 4:19am right now and I am huu tired 😂#once again happy Ailaniversary 💕💙#also yes we can't see my signature on the drawings I cut it out by accident when i cropped the pictures and was too lazy to retake pics etc#please pretend like you see my name signed next to her hair x)

Today I Beat: Moon Remix RPG Adventure
Moon is a hard game for me to talk about. Not for the lack of anything, far from it, this game is filled to the brim with charm and strangeness but merely for the fact that I dont quite know where to begin. Ill start with the aspect of the game that I can speak the least about which is the gameplay. The game is best known as an "anti-rpg" and the gameplay reflects this by kinda not being an rpg. It plays a lot more like a point and click game but without the pointing and clicking. Most of the time your walking around and showing things to characters in hopes that they have something more useful to say then "huh?" and when your not doing that, your walking around aimlessly. A good chunk of the puzzles in this game can be pretty obtuse and any consistent flow of progress can be halted simply due to schedule conflicts. And while a part of me often felt frustrated that I had no clue what to do, the other part understood that it just came with the territory of being an "anti-rpg"; a rpg where you dont fight.
The term of "RPG" is used pretty loosely when used to describe games. Despite standing for "Role Playing Game", rpgs are known more commonly for how you play them. Killing enemies to gain XP so you can level up to kill more enemies and so on until you can kill the big bad. This is where the story of moon comes in, by putting you at the other end of the sword. While I wont be spending much time going over the story as I think its best experienced by playing the game and not listening to some autistic girl blabble on, I will relay the general gist of the game. The game starts as a fairly generic rpg, shining armor and all, but just as you reach the end, the perspective changes. You are no longer a knight on a mission to slay a dragon but a child controlling said knight but just as he is ready to walk away for the night, he gets sucked into the tv. It is then your job to save the souls of the "monsters" slain by the knight, acting almost as an angel (albeit in the form of a dead child rather than a divine being but I digress). With all of this being said, its time for me to divulge into what truly makes this game special to me: its style.
To this day I have yet to find a game that quite looks like moon. Its almost as if the developers were throwing art styles against the wall to see whatever stuck and just, nothing fell off. The game uses pre-rendered images for the backgrounds which isnt at all unusual especially for ps1 games but its in moons disinterest of realism where they truly feel unique.
Often, the game will not only used pre-rendered images of early cg settings but will then add real images into them, making them make the distinction between what is real and what is cgi all the more apparent. One could analyze this as a metaphor for the games themes, a digital world clashing with human emotions but I think thats missing the forest for the trees here. The clashing of both elements make for such a distinct style and thats not even mentioning the character designs.
You could have told me that every character in this game come from different games with radically different art styles and I would have no reason to disagree. However with the game being as strange as it is, no one feels out of place. And I havent even gotten started on the claymation sprites.
Im a big big stop motion fan so naturally when i found out that all 51 "monsters" are animated using said medium, I stood up and did 2 cartwheels.
Its a great way to distinct them from anything else in the game as saving their souls is the main focus of the game. It reminds me of old cartoons where you could tell what would move or not based off the coloring. If this doesn't show how you special of a game this is I dont know what will.
My personal favorite aspect of the game, however, isn't the graphics, isn't the gameplay, but the soundtrack or rather lack thereof (in a traditional sense).
In moons ambitious goal to subvert almost every norm in gaming, most of the game takes place in total silence with the exception of your own foot steps, occasional ambiance and a rare dramatic sting. Thats not to say the game has no music in it though, far from it. Instead of your normal scripted music, game features what is, in essence, a built in mp3 player.
However instead of adding your own music, the game features 36 songs, MDs as the game calls it, all ranging in artist, genre, and even tone. Some songs will act as a mellow ambiance and others lean closer to breakcore. This MD is my personal favorite:
youtube
As this "review" ,or whatever you wanna call it, comes to a close, id like to talk about my favorite scene in the game.
-SPOILERS AHEAD-
Once you've completed your mission of constructing the rocket, your sent into the abyss of space and for almost 10 minutes your just venturing quietly into the stars with nothing much happening. That is until a character who i will not name, fades in and out of existence on top of your ship and the melancholic masterpiece of a song "Promise" starts to play
youtube
He tells you:
"Soon your journey will come to an end.
When one journey ends...another journey begins.
Life is like one night's dream.
Waking and sleeping
Birth and death.
Many things appear and vanish.
What has vanished appears.
You and I are no exception.
Throughout the universe...everything dies, and is born
Life rolls on down the road.
The question is, when you wake from the dream, when will you set out toward another dimension? Will you be able to open the door?
Soon you will reach our final destination.
Perhaps we'll meet again, at the side of some road.
Goodbye."

Hiya! I was thinking about the remastered animation Cel style evil Conan post you put up recently, and I just wanted to say how amazing and impressive it is! I love love love the look of old animation and you really nailed it. I’ve been trying for ages to mimic that look myself and haven’t been able to crack it, so if you ever wanted to talk about your process on this piece, I’d be all ears! Wonderful work, again!
Waaah hi liv!! Thank you, I'm so glad you like it, and that it comes across so convincingly!! One of my favorite things is to make digital art that can have a second life as a different medium, and I wish I had an easy answer for you as to how I go about doing that, but the truth is that it's mostly the result of a lot of trial and error. And a metric ton of references.
Here's a quick process video of my last piece to try to show off what all my layers are like, but I know it's mostly useless without an explanation!! I can't explain it all because I was kinda winging this one for funsies but I can give you general tips for this particular look.
Clip and words below the break!
As a disclaimer I didn't really go into this one intending for it to come out looking the way it did. So it's more of a hybrid look between my usual "clean" digital rendering and a fake screenshot.
[1] Reference, role models, and inspiration - I'm not kidding when I say I used to tote around an entire, dedicated folder filled with printed reference. These days that usually takes the form of about a million browser tabs ( ̄▽ ̄) I stare at early Detco and the first six movies a LOT. And Cowboy Bebop. And Akira. And and [insert your choice of 80s-90s anime film]. Depending on the exact look you're trying to replicate, you can always look to a more era-appropriate movie.
I love pulling inspo from films in particular (both animated and live action) because cinema is a whole other art that employs all kinds of techniques for our usual considerations (like lighting and framing), and looking to them can inspire some pretty poignant imagery, especially when you're trying to create something that's meant to mimic a single-frame capture of exactly that. I don't keep up with movies or anything, but I do have my favorites, and it didn't really occur to me to look to them until some of my favorite artists revealed that they do the same with theirs.
For this particular piece, I also had to establish some consistency with the other piece that bookends the scene, so I actually referenced my own art, too.
[2] BIG canvas! I usually work at two or three times the size I expect to export. Following standard aspect ratios for animated productions can help sell the look. Letterboxes have their own ratio, too, if you choose a widescreen canvas; and subtitle fonts are usually standardized to certain font families and colors since their primary purpose is to help make the media accessible. All this is usually a quick google search away, OR… if you're like me, and you still watch physical media… you can just yoink most of this from a real DVD.
[3] Thin lines!! I still can't quite nail the right line weight for these-- I definitely went too thick here-- but they tend to be very fine. And imperfections are good! Nobody has a perfectly steady hand, especially with traditional cels.
[4] Less is usually more when trying to sell a screenshot look… it's easy to over-ink and over-render and-- in my opinion-- restraint is necessary to sell it. This is the hardest thing to explain… it's design vs. rote emulation, I think. But that said, digital aids (next point) do a lot of the heavy lifting in these - as far as the art is concerned, a little will go a long way! These were some of my easiest lines and shading. So on that note…
[5] …Blending modes, masks, and filters are all your friends o___o I get a lot of mileage out of the default tools already available to me in the art software. There's plenty out there that's available for free, too! I recommend you find a fake anime screenshot tutorial, follow it once, and just go nuts when you get to the part where you can play with these settings. The make-or-break for a convincing screenshot-- in my opinion-- is texture and bloom, and all these digital tools will help you achieve that.
I hope this helps!! Hopefully the video can help you see a bit more of the process since I can only really offer tips. It shows everything at full size so you can see the details, so go nuts!
Thank you for the ask! Beaming plenty of good luck that you can find the look you want!!
ALSO I REALLY HOPE THIS IS THE PIECE YOU MEANT I'M LITERALLY ABOUT TO QUEUE THIS UP AND JUST REALIZED THE ONE THAT CAME BEFORE THIS IS MORE REMASTERED CEL ANIMATION LOOK SKSKSKSK
the same tips apply though so i hope they still help all the same :3c

1. Art programs you have but don't use
Adobe stuff, although I use Lightroom + photoshop for photography sometimes
ibis paint, I used to use this all the time but don’t much anymore since moving to doing art on my laptop
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
I can do Anything but side profiles. Side profiles are the worst
3. What ideas come from when you were little
I’ve always loved drawing eyes. And little creatures sometimes
there’s not many character ideas that have carried through from what I’ve made when I was little but I’ve always considered reimagining some of my shitty old FNAF ocs I made when I was 12
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
Monsters/any inhuman designs. It’s just something I need more practise with
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
Literally only like 2% of it gets posted. Maybe even less. Mostly because I hardly ever finish stuff
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
Huh… it’s hard to pick anything specifically. I feel like a lot of little tidbits come from everywhere, whether it’s media or art by others
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
Sculpture of most kinds. It’s something I’ve wanted to try getting into but I never have. There’s so much sculpture that’s just so impressive to me though
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
Once I started drawing two of my ocs in barbenheimer style outfits but now the time has kinda passed and I don’t feel like finishing it
9. What are your file name conventions
Keysmashing, a swear word of some kind, a phrase making fun of the character in the art, or just.. the characters name. Usually with a keysmash after it
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
Button up shirts are fun to draw! A lot of collars are fun, whether that’s on shirts or coats or whatever
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
Video essays or music usually
12. Easiest part of body to draw
Uhhh…… the face shape? I also don’t struggle TOO much with hands but that might just be because of how much I enjoy drawing them
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
I don’t know if this counts as she’s not really like… a CURRENT creator. But Frida Kahlo
14. Any favorite motifs
I don’t know. I like most things. Not much of my art has anything particularily recurring. Like not even my ART STYLE is consistent.
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
In my room
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
I don’t know.. lineart???
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
Sometimes potato crisps
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
I haven’t broken anything I’ve used for digital art, as for traditional art supplies… I don’t want to know
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
I have no idea I don’t draw inanimate objects much.. I like drawing glasses
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
Hands. Don’t get me wrong they are hard to draw but I like it
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
Most painters. There are so many I find really admirable and visually interesting but my style hardly resembles paintings. I’m sure that’s something I could try in the future though
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
None… maybe I should
23. Do you use different layer modes
Sometimes, if it works. But it’s not something I consistently rely on
24. Do your references include stock images
yeah probably. I get them all from Pinterest
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
I genuinely can’t think of anything that applies to this. I haven’t had too many comparisions
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
There’s also not anything I can think of for this either
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
Yeah…. Not really
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
does art fight count? I’ve done that for 3 years now
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
Hades, the 2020 game. I LOVE the story, dialogue, and characters, but I’m not a big fan of the art style and outright dislike a few of the designs
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
All of them 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game
Didn't see a lot of artist ask games, wanted to make a silly one.

ALSO 1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 16, 27, 28, 30 for the artist asks? :)
1. Art programs you have but don't use
mmm krita and... well I have the entire adobe creative cloud at my disposal but I just. don't. honestly nowadays I've been doing a lot of my stuff traditional with just like. my sketchbook and my favorite pen but for digital I will use csp.
3. What ideas come from when you were little
...so I had this character. Merivette. right. she is like. the archetype for most of my focus characters for most of my stories and her original thing was that she was an scp doctor that did dimension fuckery (like 507) but then she just became like. idk she became part of the vivienne character archive mythos ig
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
OMYGOPD FUCKING. I'd say a good 70-80% I don't post ??? maybe upto 90-95% ??? that'll probs drop down to like. 35-50% if I start learning how to use insta but since I can't exactly work easily at fucking school I barely post stuff I would think looks good enough for my tumblr. ye I mentioned insta but that is specifically gonna be like. doodle dump
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
FIBER ARTS!! fiber arts, 3d modelling and traditional painting. god. what I would give to have skills and knowhow for 3d modelling. this is reminding me to get back into bookbinding and scrap booking sajosdf
14. Any favorite motifs
... stars. I mean obviously with my current brainrot being like. about the skies and the stars and the things beyond and b elow the earth of course stars. eyes too ig but like. kind of a given
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
landscapes and comics. comics I can't will myself to drawing something over and over and having to make it look decently polished. landscapes I just fret over the details too much. getting more used to comics and the likes specifically cause. yknow. I wanna make animatics
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
OKAY SO I love just. doodling random shapes as warm up. and then also I will like. doodle a bunch of stuff related to said character on a separate page and maybe some small doodles of the character. specifically for the shapes I'll do different directions of hatching for them and in areas where shapes intersect I'll make it kinda like a cross hatching thing
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
uhhh not really ? They're usually around the time I get burnt out or am buusy. like you know I tried artfight but that literally started around the same time as my school year. and then the school is also hosting a zine but they started it during fucking hell week so they extended the deadline but I do not have any full illustrations at the ready so maybe like. next year or maybe I rush something up idk
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
with all the art I am currently proud of rn I think just the character design refs that I have up for asotfs. you can see a change in how I draw in the ones I have but I like them. I do not post art often .w.

1. Idk how I missed your follow celebration but i hope not too late!! It’s the 29th where I am! First of all congratulations on the follow count! Second can I please request a ship request and a bestie request? I’m bisexual so either gender is fine! Here we go:
2. I go by she/her and am 20 so I don’t mind some nsfw!
3. Appearance:
As for looks, I’m 5’1, average build, tanned olive type skin, dark brown eyes, full lips, dark brown shoulder length wavy/kinda curly hair with curtain bangs. I also wear glasses with a slight cat eye to them.
4. Personality:
For personality I’m creative, introverted, and individualistic. Though I’m introverted, around my friends I can be quite talkative, humorous and outgoing. However I definitely treasure my alone time the most.
5. Hobbies/Interests:
As for hobbies escaping to new worlds while reading books/comics, watching movies, and playing rpg video games. My favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi, though I do love a good classic from time to time. Apart from that, I love working out.
My interests on the other hand are art focused. I’m currently in art school working with both digital and traditional mediums. I love my practice and everything from interaction design and digital illustration to graphite drawings and inking.
6. Likes/dislikes:
Likes: coffee, chai tea, dark chocolate, rock/blues/jazz/ music, cafe art shows, arcades, comic book stores, purple, thai/Indian/Chinese food, roller blading to classic rock with the wind in my hair, quality alone time
Dislikes: people i am unfamiliar with and have to make small talk with, the biting cold, rain, non fiction, staying too close to reality and not being allowed to daydream/imagine/roam freely in my thoughts, physical touch, overly crowded areas
Random stuff
My favorite planet is Dathomir. Don’t ask why but I love the aesthetic and the witchy spookiness. Also maul and ventress yes pls. Idk if I’d want to live there but the vibes are immaculate.
If I had to live on a planet tho it’d prolly be Naboo, Alderaan or coruscant (pre empire ofc)
Thank you and congrats once again!
Hey there!! You're absolutely fine, your request was before the deadline (I'm so sorry it took me so long to get this out I'm such a flake oml lol). Thank you so much for participating, and I hope the week has been treating you well so far!

Ship request 👄
Okay, okay, okay, okay, listen. The sequel trilogy I know is pretty polarizing, especially here on Tumblr (I don't write for them most of the time), but you and Rey would be so CUTE!!! She sees your art and she literally had no idea that something could be so beautiful. You get a bit bashful because it's just a rough sketch and the dimensions are all off and tbh it was really just a warmup but Rey falls in love with it and it warms your heart so much you give it to her. She scrimps and saves money to get it properly matted and framed and she just adores it. Also, pls get this girl some healthy emotional relationships she would just flourish on Naboo. The water!! The greenery!! It's warm enough for you both but it's not a desert! HUGE plus. The war ends and Rey just wants to come home with you, to a peaceful place where she doesn't feel weighed down by her past and her powers and her responsibility. She wants a place where her friends came come and go and enjoy being there. She loves that her friends can become your friends. But the both of you also get overwhelmed with too much social interaction, and quiet nights in together, ones where Rey sits and tinkers with some mechanical bits and bobs. Ones where you've ordered takeout and you're sitting working on a new piece of art or reading Space-Dracula with Space-Ella Fitzgerald playing quietly in the background. Peaceful nights. A peaceful life. It's everything Rey didn't realize she wanted until you came along.
"It wasn't that bad." You were a bit pale in the face. For all your interests and talents, a pilot you were not. Your beautiful, powerful, pure partner, however, was a pilot of extreme skill. But every time she flew it was like she was in battle, and the ride had gotten a bit rocky there. You'd think you'd be used to it by now. "Rey, my love, you fly like Poe was on your ass." "Poe could only hope to keep up with me." You giggled a little. Poe was also a fantastic pilot, and he and Rey had had a few "friendly" competitions to see which one was better. And every single time, they asked you and Finn to judge. And every single time, you and Finn stayed the fuck out of it and were happy to let your partners be competitive little flyboys. You and Finn were quite happy to gallivant off towards a coffee shop with pastries and laugh at their antics. "Good thing he's not here to hear that," you said. "He'd be squaring up right now." "Again, he could only hope to keep up with me." You laughed again, with a fond little roll of your eyes, and reached up to kiss her cheek. "Come on, Reybird, home's awaiting." Rey smiled, that beautiful, radiant smile of hers. The one that made your cheeks warm and stomach flutter. The one that had stolen your heart. The one that you did not want to go a single day without seeing. And it felt like you were already home.
Bestie request 😎
I came this 🤏 close to putting Sabine Wren down as your ship request, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought you two would be better suited as besties. (Also I hope you're okay with me putting down a Rebels character 😊). You two would bond so easily over art. Sabine is also well-known for her individuality, creativity, independence, and introversion. Sure, she loves being with her friends and family, but sometimes Sabine just needs some goddamn alone time. And you just have to do, "same lol." I think Sabine and you would also love meeting up at your favorite (space) Thai joints cause you two can handle spice and no one else on the Ghost Crew can lol. You and Sabine would also love working out together, giving each other shit for being out of shape lol, griping and being dramatic about how tired you are.
You could hear the gentle hiss of Sabine's paint gun somewhere around the corner from you. You wondered if she was leaving behind her trademark starbird or if she was leaving something a little more detailed. The longer the paint gun went, you knew she was painting something a bit bigger than her signature symbol. Your own piece was coming along nicely. A smirk curled at your lips as the details and colors came together, a mural of pure beauty materializing and giving the drab slate durasteel wall a bit more character. Your didn't use a paint gun yourself, only for linework. You preferred a classic brush to blend and apply the colors of your work. Even if it took a bit longer. You weren't worried. You and Sabine had yet to be caught. A few more flicks of your brush brought the piece together. And with a quick arc of some black paint with your gun, the piece was done. "Nice." Sabine had finished her own work and was now sniggering at your mural. You smirked over your shoulder at her. Your mural was a wonderful rendition of one Grand Admiral Thrawn being strangled by that chimaera he seemed so fond of. You were quite proud of it. "Thanks." You slapped up a stencil and sprayed with your gun, leaving your own symbol to sign your work. "What's yours?" Sabine's was as comical and poignant as your own. It featured a figure cloaked in black, a figure you recognized as The Emperor, with a lightsaber through his ass. You sighed a little dramatically. Oh, if only. "Come on, I've still got some ideas to get out that will get me grounded if Kanan or Hera sees." Sabine flourished her paint gun. You barked a laugh. "Then I want to see it!" Sabine grinned, and as the two of you darted through the city to find your next displays, you left behind nothing but fresh paint and the knowledge that rebels had been there. Rebels were everywhere.

Hi!! I’m new here! I would like to join in on your 100-follower match up event! (Congrats btw) I would like to do Bnha for my fandom choice, I also have a male preference.
I’m a INTP, and a Capricorn as well, I’m also an introvert. My appearance is tanned skin with a few moles on my face with clear glasses, and medium length, black, straight hair with no bangs. I’m a bit chunky in my stomach area but I look pretty much skinny from what I have been told. But I don’t have soft clear skin sadly I have eczema which is like a weird skin condition with lots of rashes during summer, or spring due to allergies so I get pretty insecure with my body when I go out publicly so I don’t usually wear skirts, or very short-shorts or crop tops anything that reveals a lot of skin unless I’m really uncomfortable with the hot weather out in public but at home it’s a different story. Personality wise: I pretty much either have a resting bitch face (which is most of the time) or smug face when I’m in a teasing mood. I’m pretty much moody and tired like 99% of the time so I don’t like talking or going out all that much and prefer silence sometimes but I don’t mind having conversations and I’m pretty much easily entertained by weird and funny things like videos I watch. My friends tell me that most of the time I’m like so tired for no reason but absolutely chaotic energy at certain times for when I’m having fun or something.
I really like dark aesthetic, kinda a skater girl vibes mixed with dark academia vibes if that makes sense also big and baggy clothes out in public but inside at home I like to wear a big shirt with no pants but if I have to wear something it’s shorts I only wear stuff like this only at home since I don’t feel insecure about my skin. I love video games, manga, watching anime or action movies, cartoons. I really love eating food but my favorite would be any pasta dish, I like fruity drinks like smoothies or juices sadly I am not a big fan of coffee because I can’t take bitter all that much but I’m working on it. I don’t like hot weather because it makes me absolutely itchy and sweaty so I much prefer colder, rainy, cloudy, windy weather. I don’t like bugs and I don’t like majorly big heights and airplane rides all that much since it gives me anxiety but I really like rollercoasters for some reason. My hobby is listening to music any kind that’s sound good to me, and drawing, digital and traditional drawing. I used to take wrestling, kung fu, and now currently hula dancing. (Don’t ask me about the hula one XD ) that’s it!! thanks for reading have a nice day!! <3 <3
Hello, thank you for the request! I think that the best match for you would be…
Shigaraki
You two share similar styles in aesthetics, and he probably likes that! He doesn’t like things that are too bright in color, so he immediately liked you when you showed up in your darker aesthetics. Speaking of which if you like wearing baggy clothes and ask him to borrow one of his hoodies, he’ll grumble about it but he will lend you it in the end. Please wear them around, it makes his heart melt.
You two share so much in common haha, since he too really likes video games and anime. He would want to hang out with you and just play games most of the time, or react to some really shitty anime together. Hanging out with him is such a vibe in general, since he’s so chill. He might get a bit competitive in certain games, but he’s so cute when he’s focused. He will make bets with you based on gaming too, like whoever loses has to buy them dinner the next time they go out or so. He would love watching you drawing, and maybe you should draw him one day!
He likes colder weather too, since he agrees he’d rather freeze than sweat. You two probably bundle up in blankets when it gets colder and watch something together haha.
You two match in personality so much too! You guys both giving a tired look whenever Spinner or Twice is goofing off is such a mood.
But more importantly, he’s someone who cares deeply about you. If he learns about the insecurities you about your body, he’s the one to reassure you that no matter what you’re beautiful. He’s always had issues accepting himself too, especially after his neck and the bags he has under his eyes, sometimes he gets reminded of his past and gets upset at how he looks. That’s why it hits him hard when he learns you too feel upset sometimes with your physical appearance. He will let you know, probably while you guys are cuddled up or so, that you shouldn’t worry about things like that. To him, you are more beautiful than anything else in the world. He loves your skin, your hair, the moles you have. It’s rare to see Shigaraki so soft so it might surprise you, but he truly cares for you. If anyone upsets you by the way, they’re dust. He’s going to be behind your back no matter what happens. You’re his player two after all!

hi! im trying to get into digital art, but I have no idea where to start. for a beginner, what programs/tablets/pens do you use or what tips do you have? thank you so much for any help!
It always depends on your personal preference overall, but programs wise:
Autodesk Sketchbook is free and very good for starting out, it’s got a very simple interface, a pen stabilizer tool, and you can also make your own stamps and brushes pretty easily. (this is the program I use the most and started in) It has an animation ‘flipbook’ tool, but it’s not... great. at all.
Krita is another good free program. It’s a bit more complex than sketchbook but not *too* much. It does have a bit more of a more pixelated look, but it also lends to less blur. (but I like my blur so... also why I like sketchbook). Its a better animators tool, but again, more complicated to understand.
Adobe Illustrator is the Industry Standard among digital artists in the pro world but tbh It’s not my favorite. It’s subscription, and has a very similar interface to Adobe Photoshop. *shrug* It’s fine I guess.
People also use Adobe Photoshop. .....it’s....definitely a photo-manipulation program more than an art program. But you can definitely make it work. About the same complexity as Krita...maybe slightly less, if you ignore a lot of buttons and tools.
I was reminded of Fire-alpaca, fairly easy to use interface and a nice animation program. ( @/kitkat1003 aka @/sanders-sides-reverse-au totally just reminded me of it and uses it primarily)
I’ve also heard of Paint Tool Sai, GIMP, and Corel Painter, but haven’t actually tried them myself or anything.
If you wanna try Vector drawing (aka, Math Drawing. and allows for better image sizing without deteriorating the image) Inkscape is there. (Idk what else is out there in terms of vector drawing, I just know inkscape because I need to use it for making logos and printmaking)
In terms of tablets,
Wacom is usually the go-to for most artists tbh? (They have a small monopoly I think)
I have a wacom pen and tablet called the Wacom Intuos Pro (medium size. about the same size as a sheet of paper). It comes with the pen and changeable tips (which last quite a while tbh). It has pressure detection, you can turn the pen around for an eraser like a pencil, (I use the program’s own eraser tool more often though), and the texture of the tablet is closer to a piece of paper. You have to look at the computer screen though, and the usb cords tend to break kinda easily in my experience? (but they’re relatively cheap and easy to find a replacement) And you can place a sheet of paper over it and trace over it without too much trouble.
Beyond that I think there’s some tablets with screens and pens like the surface pro that work with many art programs, but... they’re basically just tiny computers.
Any other tablets I’ve seen are just... not as good as any wacom options? But hey, I could’ve missed/forgotten some the last time I researched it.
Beyond that, in terms of tips for getting started, don’t try to get too complex at first? I’d suggest scanning stuff in or tracing over them, and digitally inking and coloring them to get a feel for the difference between it and paper. Don’t think about it like traditional mediums. A lot of programs try to claim they’re like traditional media, but, honestly, I feel like that looses the point of digital drawing. Don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t look like what you can do with traditional media. Explore what you can do with the program that you couldn’t be able to do with traditional media. Use your layers!! Also- play with your brushes! Experiment, see what works nicely for what. idk pal, have fun, explore, don’t get discouraged.

Diary of a Junebug
Rock and roll the night away!
What better way to escape than getting lost in music? Headphones on, thoughts off - nothing like some good bops to help get you through the day.
KK Slider's been looking into expanding his musical repertoire so he's been playing around with different genres in hopes of creating a brand new sound. And that's how rock and roll night came to be!
Joining us on this musical adventure are Sonja, with her siblings Robbie and Tiffy, and cousin Bubba. It's been ages since Daisy Jane and I have last hung out with Sonja so it's nice that she and her fam dropped by for a visit. I've hung out with Robbie and Bubba a handful of times while this is the first time I've met Tiffy.
Sonja's been meaning to stop by the camp for a while but life has gotten busy. She also wanted her dad and stepmom to come along too but then something came up so they were unable to make it at the last minute. Same thing for her grandma, though to be honest, camping isn't really her thing so it's probably for the best that she didn't come.
Old Thelma Lou may come across as a cantankerous old lady but she really is a nice person once you get to know her. Underneath that rough exterior is a protective, dedicated, and tough mother figure who wants what's best for you, even if she kinda has a hard time showing how much she cares about you. We video chatted with her before the concert and she's still the same old Thelma Lou, keeping an eye on her children, grandchildren, and their friends in her own unconventional ways.
We also chatted with Buzz and Skeeter, both who are doing well. The reason why they weren't able to join us at the camp is because Skeeter's pregnant again. She and Buzz were going to have a boy last fall but there were complications and the baby was stillborn. So far things are moving along smoothly, but to be safe, Skeeter's on strict bed rest. In about four months, Sonja, Robbie, and Tiffy will have a little sister!
Sonja has been busy working on her graphic novel, which she plans to release in the fall. She's a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, known for posting relatable and funny comics online. I love her art - it's got a sketchy and loose style that's sorta minimal yet super expressive. When I got into digital art, I took some inspiration from Sonja's work by using pencil brushes for line art and the gouache brush for coloring.
After working in the studio for hours on the book over the past several weeks, Sonja felt she could use a change of scenery - which was the main reason why she wanted to come to the camp. She also wants to get back into using traditional mediums like painting so she brought along some canvases and paints. The great outdoors is perfect for finding inspiration when you're in a rut!
Robbie runs a fix-it shop in Elmstown with two of his friends. His specialties are clocks and anything that has a lock thanks to his grandma and dad - Thelma Lou likes collecting clocks and Buzz's a locksmith. He's the reason why the family saves so much on repairs - Robbie and his friends can pretty much fix anything! Elmstown is pretty far but I'm keeping his business card in case I need something fixed like my computer since that'll be more cost effective than sending it to the store where I'll probably get overcharged.
It's a good thing we have Robbie here to help KK Slider with the equipment. He had some old amps and guitars that he'd been meaning to get fixed but since they were custom made, it's hard to find parts that need replacement. Thankfully, Robbie never leaves home without his toolbox and with his magic, we were able to improve the stage setup.
Bubba's still living with Thelma Lou, though he's in the process of moving out to his own place. He's not leaving Rayetown though, just moving to the other side of town so he can be closer to the post office. Along with delivering packages for the citizens of Rayetown, Bubba's also a drummer and occasional lead singer for The Cogwheels, a local band that regularly performs at the Chili Bowl.
Thelma Lou and Bubba have a sweet relationship. He's the oldest of the Harp grandchildren through Thelma Lou's daughter. His parents pretty dumped him on Thelma Lou's doorstep when they moved halfway across the country, which wasn't very nice of them. His mom and grandma have a stormy relationship so that explains why Thelma Lou's kinda overprotective of him, and in return he respects her a lot. Recently though, Bubba and his mom have been keeping in touch sporadically - thanks to Uncle Buzz and Aunt Skeeter. As for his dad though, since he walked out on his mom, he hasn't heard from him in years, which he feels is probably for the best.
And there's Tiffy, the youngest (so far) of the grandchildren. She's seven and a half years old and likes to sing and dance. This is her first time being away from home for a couple days so she's pretty excited about it. Plus, she gets to spend time with her siblings, something she always looks forward to since they live far from home. By the time she was born, Sonja and Robbie had already long moved out of Rayetown. Up until Tiffy came along, Sonja and Robbie rarely visited home, a deliberate choice that they both kinda regretted but at the same time felt it was necessary.
Tiffy's looking forward to the new baby - and she's absolutely certain that things will work out this time. She was really bummed about what happened with her brother, especially since she always wanted a little sibling. Buzz and Skeeter had been trying for years to have another kid - they didn't have Tiffy until about six years into their marriage - and that was after being told many times that they missed the boat. It's a good thing they didn't give up or else Tiffy wouldn't be here today!
While helping KK Slider set up for the concert, we also went sightseeing outside the camp. Now that the weather's warming up and the sun's staying out longer, we can venture further out. The first place we went was the mountains, where Sonja was inspired to pull out her canvases and paints. She's been working on landscapes and backgrounds so it was the perfect opportunity. Since she had a lot of fun doing that, I figured we could do the same in other places outside the camp like the woods or the meadows.
As they were testing out the equipment, KK and Bubba were jamming out while Tiffy danced. She definitely inherited Buzz and Skeeter's dance skills! Tap dancing and ballet are her favorites and she definitely wants to branch out to other forms of dance. Her parents are looking into more dance classes for Tiffy, which she's excited for. One of the reasons why she's looking forward to having another sibling is so she can have a dance partner in the future. Imagine, Tiffy and her little sister, dancing together!
Later, Robbie joined in on the jam session, playing the bass. Apollo, Static, and Cherry joined in as well, and before we knew it, all of them were writing new songs that eventually became the setlist for the concert! Sonja later got into the jam session after Daisy Jane showed her around the cabin and her studio. I sense a collaboration between the two in the near future...
Around 5 we finished setting up for the concert and began preparing for a barbecue dinner. By the time all the food was set up, it was time to rock and roll! I have to say, KK and the campers really outdid themselves with the stage setup. It was a mix of performances by KK Slider and jam sessions by us. The concert was an awesome experience!
In the span of one hour, Bubba and KK wrote Road Ode. KK came up with the intricate melody that's a perfect fusion of his signature sound along with elements of classic rock. Bubba came up with the lyrics, taking inspiration from his relationships with his mother and grandma. Easily one of the highlights of the night.
Apollo sang lead on a number he co-authored with KK Slider titled Old Man Blues. It's a bluesy rock and roll tune with a catchy guitar riff that's stuck in my head as I write this. The light show visuals really add to the vibe of this song, elevating it to another level.
Static and Cherry performed Heavy Metal Ballad as a trio with KK Slider - another song that was just finished today. The song was actually three different compositions that merged into one. Cherry has been playing around with a cool heavy metal beat for a while. She had a good thing going on but had trouble turning it into something, so she put it aside in hopes of finding the right spark to kick it off. Static came up with lyrics for the chorus, originally through a little ditty he called Lightning Muses. And like Cherry, he had something but couldn't figure out what direction he wanted to take it. Then along comes KK Slider, who saw the potential in these two wildly different compositions. Somehow, with his verses and additional melodies, he created an instant hit!
In an unexpected surprise, KK Slider got Daisy Jane and I on to perform a new KK original as well as a couple songs from Lilac and the Cadillacs. The new song, Sky Blue Twilight, is a collaboration between me, Daisy Jane, and KK Slider. It was something we came up with a while back, and I had almost forgotten about it until today. I'm pretty rusty from songwriting but working on this piece was pretty fun! I really should get back into writing music...
Sonja, Robbie, and Tiffy also joined Bubba on stage for another new song, titled All That Rock 'n' Roll. Tiffy sang lead vocals with Sonja on the keys and Robbie on bass. Along with being a fantastic dancer, Tiffy's a great singer! I filmed the whole thing for Bubba so he can send it to Thelma Lou, Buzz, and Skeeter. I have to say, KK Slider and Bubba make a great songwriting team!
Another fun song is Violet Blaze, an upbeat rock and roll tune by KK Slider, Candi, Kabuki, and Spike. KK Slider really outdid himself on that guitar solo! With riffs like that, there's no other song fitting to be titled Violet Blaze. What one can't put into words, music expresses it - one just has to listen and feel.
And of course, in between the new songs were KK Slider classics, but remixed. It's amazing how changing up the genre can give well known songs a fresh makeover! That's what I love about KK Slider's music - the versatility. In terms of reinventing his sound while staying true to himself, I'd say KK Slider succeeded with flying colors!
Aside from Tiffy and the early risers, the rest of us have been rocking and rolling way past midnight. I'm still a bit buzzed from the concert, which just ended less than an hour ago, so I'm gonna unwind for a bit before going to bed.

Introducing: Peace!
Commissions: I do not and have never before done commissions, and as to whether I will try to do any in the future I honestly do not know. Maybe small ones, but I not sure yet
Social Media: Tumblr: @fallingtopeaces7 AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/users/peacewing
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hewoo new frends my name tis Peace. I tis both an artist and a writer and that has consequently led me to majoring in animation, so you all might sees some animation stuffs from me later on. I luvs to come up with new ideas and worldbuilding, especially worldbuilding. Tis very fun to make a world and share it with frends X3! I also luvs to play DnD and hope to DM one day. Besides that, my favorite color tis blue and i likes many animals but i has a soft spot for cats. My nickname on Discord is Server Cat for a reason :3
What got you into creating? what inspires you to keep creating?
there wasnt really a big moment that made me want to start creating tis more of a slow build up til I went "I wanna draw sumthing for dis, so i shall" and i dids. However the metaphorical push over the edge into artist land was pokemon so i guess we cans say it twas that X3. what makes me want to keep creating are the fandoms i continuously finds myself in and my frends along with music. Music tis one of my biggest motivators besides my frends :3
What's your creative process like?
My creative process is pretty average. For my art I thinks up what i want to make and sketch it out and get it out how i wants in this stage. Then i do the lineart, color and shading then i done. For writing it also starts with thinking up an idea then I write down notes for it in a sort of outline. If its a multi-chapter fic then a oneshot then I add in characters and such along with places. Once I add in everything I thinks my story will include I come up with the beginning and the end and figure out what happens in the middle so it makes sense. Then I writes until its done X3
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
I mostly do digital art, but whenever I do traditional art i use a pencil and if I really wanna do something big i use other dry media like charcoal and colored pencils. Besides drawing I also like to take pictures of what i sees outside that i likes X3. I might post those pictures in the future :3
Is there a specific scene wrote that you are particularly proud of?
not really, at least not yet. Maybe once I start writing my bigger ideas I be able to choose one
Is there someone who inspires you and your writing or art?
my frends are great motivators and i cants really choose one since they all affect how i view creating stuffs :3
Is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as a creator?
multiple, too many count or name all that needs to be said are hands, legs, and feet
What got you into writing or art?
already kinda answered this earlier :3
What's your favorite part of the creative process?
the planning is definitely my favorite part cause WORLD BUILDING!!! X3
What's your least favorite part of the creative process?
executing the plan tis definitely the hardest part for me since my motivation tends to leave pretty quickly unless I really excited bout it
What's your favorite type of scene to write?
HUGGIES n HURT/COMFORT!!!!!!! GIVE ME THE HUGS!!! >:3
What's the hardest for you to create?
getting the poses right for drawing tis very hard and writing the scene just right is also very hard. Everything looks and sounds great in the head but not out in the real world owo
What's your favorite genre to write?
hurt/comfort with HUGGIES!!! either that or just downright fluff and crack X3
What fandoms do you enjoy creating for?
legend of zelda undertale and a few others i cannot remember for some reason right now OwO
What's the work you are most proud of?
I really like these: https://fallingtopeaces7.tumblr.com/post/616304650647404544/wind-you-came-back-this-is-for-the-weekly-prompt https://fallingtopeaces7.tumblr.com/post/616159948590710784/take-this-random-as-heck-angst-it-appeared-in-my?is_related_post=1 and the only fic i has made so far is this one with a frend: https://archiveofourown.org/works/23867086
Where do you post your finished works?
my art I post on my tumblr and I post whatever I write on AO3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/users/peacewing

AUs and Verses (Short Edition)
Here’s a collection of my favorite AUs and Verses! Hopefully a bit shorter and more easily understood uwu
[HERE’S THE LONG EDITION, WHICH INCLUDES A COUPLE MORE TINY VERSES!!! DO CHECK THIS OUT AS WELL if you’re interested]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Normal / Default Verse
[Here’s the story of how Author turned into Host!]
Author was very greedy. He wanted to become a literal god. His greed attracted an actual old god, who abused Author’s greed.
The old god, named Alden, forced Author to gouge his own eyes out.
After Author passed out, after mutilating himself, Alden “possessed” Author’s body. Normally, its omnipotence destroys human minds. But not Author’s.
Due to neither being able to overpower/destroy the other, they came to a compromise, and share the body between them. Their body was named “Host”, as it now hosts the old god together with Author.
Over time, they grew so intertwined, that they’re one very well working person, while also still being their own.
Twisted Minds AU
[Here are the Fanfics I wrote about the whole AU]
The egos all live in a manor together, everything was alright.
One day, the body Dark used rotted away, and got too hard to keep going; so he had to leave it. Without a human body containing the entity which is Dark, slowly seeped into the manor again, even though he tries his hardest to stay contained in what was once his office.
Due to his shell-less self, everyone was slowly changed. Emotions brought to extremes, personalities flipped, appearances growing inhuman, etc.
[Here’s a little post about the gist of it all]
Author was also affected, like everyone else. But, due to Dr Iplier wanting to use Author in an experiment, and things going sour for the writer, he was thrown “into” Dark. He nearly died. He was changed, his sight gone and powers changed.
This made him into Host. And Host, due to his powers, realized how wrong this reality is, and how fucked up it is. Thus breaking him out of the cycle of madness, as well as making him a terrified being.
Cursed AU
Set in a fantasy world, slightly medieval perhaps.
Author and Host are brothers. They live in a cabin in a forest, away from other people, happy with only themselves as company.
One day, someone Author angered tried to kill him. But instead of Author, Host was hit, and was quickly dying from a curse.
Author didn’t care when he was hit with a curse as well, angry, wanting to kill that woman, but Host dying in his arms took priority.
The curse Author was hit with was worse, though. It turned him into a sort of “undead” state. And to stay “healthy” and strong, he had to leech the life-force from other people. The touch of his bare skin does so.
He unintentionally quickened Host’s death.
Author was cursed to live forever with this curse, unable to die. Due to the strong connections between the brothers, as well as the circumstance of his death, Host is stuck as a ghost.
Host is technically bound to the cabin, but, Author wears the same slightly magical necklace that Host had. This makes Host able to go with Author, though not stray too far from him.
Teeny Twins AU
[Here is a collection of Fics I’m writing!]
All of the egos are a little younger than typically (Between 24-38 on average, outliers being Magnum, Dark, Wilford being older, and Host, Author being younger)
Author and Host are twins and live together in their cabin in the woods.
They know where the egos live and visit them quite often.
They have their respective powers, but don’t know their full extends.
Neither of them wants to be anything like a god or something alike; the thought alone makes them uncomfortable and even scared.
They are quite mysterious but also total rascals. Favorite past time: pranks. They’re best friends with the Jims and Bing due to that.
Author is more active, energetic, and reckless. Host is more quiet and thoughtful.
everything i wanted AU
[Here’s two little fics I wrote about it]
Host and Author are twins. They grew up very close, and were eventually taken in by Dark and Wilford.
Author was very very open to explore his own powers, always pushing and pushing and pushing.
Dark, with the excuse of fearing Author would be a danger to himself and especially others, banished Author into the void, where Host had also gotten hurt in the process.
Author sort of became one with the void, gaining strange weird powers. With them, he managed to escape the void -just in time to save his brother, who didn’t want to live without him.
Swap AU
Egos’ “roles” and sorta their powers being switched around!
Host is “swapped” with Dark.
He is monochrome. He wears a black trenchcoat and black tights, as well as knee-high black combat boots. He has a bright strand of hair, no eyes, and bandages around his eyes.
[Here’s some info about the AU and Host’s/Dr Iplier’s/Dark’s/Wilford’s backstory!]
He is called Darkiplier in this AU (pronounced Dark-eeplee-er? sorta french lol).
He talks in third person as a comfort mechanism.
He doesn’t really have a goal like normal Dark (getting revenge on Actor) but he takes care of the other egos and keeps them safe and in check.
He does his radio show still, but has no narrating powers.
Florist AU
[Here’s the main artwork for it]
Author is a very soft boy, and a florist.
He writes very dark and gruesome stories he publishes online in his free time.
He lives in a pretty much one room apartment right above his flower shop. He’s not very wealthy, but he survives.
He loves tattoos, but is shy about getting more than the one he already has (plus money is a slight problem).
Painter AU
[Here's some art for it]
A human AU! Every ego is a human
It's focused on Author, but Host also exists as his twin brother!
Author is a somewhat famous painter, but he doesn't really care about the money. He's super clumsy and ditzy, a whole himbo mess really. But he looks like a hot fashion model.
Author is more the traditional medium guy. Mainly painting, but also sculpting, pencil drawings, illustrations.
Host is more the digital artist. Mainly illustrations, but also some painting stuff, also uses 3D sculpting for art purposes. Probably works with video games, making art, doing some voice acting.
Wilford is one of Author's friends and a fashion designer. He recommends models (and friends) for Author. He drags Dark to their friend-meetings a lot.
So Dark's a singer. Just wanted to sing for fun, but somehow it turned into popularity (like Billie Eilish whoops)
So Eric is Dark's boyfrend and makes music with him. Plays piano. Sings a little but very shy to do so anywhere other than a little for Dark's songs. Too nervous to meet the gang but everyone knows from dark talking about Eric anyways
The Jims twins work mainly on the video game Host helps working on as well. They both do the writing, but only one of them also does programming. They eventually meet up with Host sometime after a lot of only online talking and somehow love happens eventually
Little Demon AU
Host is a demon, still called Host.
He is 7 inches tall.
He has dark purple horns and two tails, and no bandages, but keeps his eyes closed.
Looking into his eyes will cause the looker to be pulled into their own mind and be faced with their deepest and darkest fear.
Host will be able to see that and interact with the person there, but also leave them there alone to suffer.
He can “teleport” short distances, mostly through shadows.
Harpy AU
Host has no name he goes by, but will let anyone name him.
He is 8 inches tall.
He’s a brown thrasher harpy.
He has slightly darker skin (than Mark), short, like brown fuzz on his head resembling hair; white feathers with dark spots on his chest and hips down his thighs, where his legs then turn into bird’s feet; dark brown, almost black eyes. His wings have light brown feathers.
He mainly eats fruits, berries, nuts and insects.
He isn’t afraid to attack anything larger than him, going so far as to attack humans if he has to.
Mermaid AU (other versions depending on size!)
Host goes by the name of Host.
He had almost been caught once by humans, which resulted in the loss of his eyesight, and thick scars over his eyes.
His scales are golden. His fins are slightly see-through, and tipped green. His ears are fins. He has fins on his underarms. He has scales on his shoulders and arms.
He has scales that glow in the dark, and markings on his face which also glow in the dark (not visible unless glowing)
He’s a siren, and thus can speak and understand English.
Underwater mermaids communicate via clicking sounds (kinda like morse code, but different).
Human AU [Second Version]
Host is named Markus Barker. Sometimes uses Host as nickname.
He is either: Born blind (sclera/pupil milky). Blind due to a disease (Neuromyelitis Optica).
He lives on his own with his pets. He either: Lives in his cabin in the forest. Lives on the outskirts of town with a garden.
He has an older brother (Arthur, world-wide known author).
He works on a rather popular podcast as main-narrator. He also either: Works at a radio station. Stays at home (financial help from his brother).
Can also go with human Author, the aforementioned brother of Host.
Both can also exist without brother.
Human Slave AU
Host is named Markus Barker. Host is his nickname though
He is either: Born blind (sclera/pupil milky). Got his eyes gouged out by an owner.
He had been sold as slave when he had been a young child (around 4 y/o?).
hey sira ..... about that post with the time periods with sinbad and treasure planet and all that ..... WHAT WAS GOING ON? you said you wouldn't rant about it in the tags so i sent this ....... i need answers ..... TT_TT
Alrighty so the main way I know about it is because I learned about the decline of mainstream 2d animated films in the US so I’m gonna be covering both, partially using a copy/paste of a rant I made months back. All info under the readmore:
HOKAY SO, this isn’t all the factors and it’s not everything it’s just what I remember. I tried to fact check this mess and I think I changed any inaccuracies but I COULD BE WRONG.
So, animation in the 2000s, why it was the way it was and why a lot of films went under-appreciated. One thing you gotta remember is that while animation is a creative field, the companies in charge of them are businesses. And businesses will almost always go for low risk/high reward shit. This means, if there’s something tried and true they’ll stick with it. This is why studios often modeled works after other studios (funny talking animals, white gloves, black eyes with that lil white slit, musical shorts like Silly Symphonies, Happy Harmonies, and Merrie Melodies which yes were all by different studios), or in direct opposition of other studios (don bluth going darker with themes to contrast disney’s cuteness, bugs bunny’s trickster personality to contrast mickey’s nondescript Good personality, etc).
But there’s only so long you can do the same stuff before people get tired of it. Most animated feature length films had the same formula: a retelling of an old tale with musical numbers and cute sidekicks. And they started not doing so good.
However, animation at this time had grown in leaps and bounds. Digital coloring and compositing, merging of 3d effects, big studios run by huge companies, and a track record for being profitable as fuck. At the time the companies didn’t want them to go under so they decided to try to get Innovative. Cause that’s how they’d stayed afloat when things went bad before.
They weren’t going to stray from adapting though, too many unknown factors in original stories (which would also require more workshopping and pre-production). So, they’re still adapting old stories. However, they’re pulling from different sources, and in the case of Disney giving them a twist.
Atlantis was inspired by Journey to the Center of the Earth mixed with the myth of Atlantis, Treasure Planet was of course Treasure Island but Pirates in Space (which is one of my favorite nonsensical aesthetics), Dreamworks SKG (their 2d animation dept) went super old school with myths and legends (Sinbad, Prince of Egypt). And both studios went ham on trying to be innovative with the tech at their disposal.
There’s another reason why they went so hard, besides of course being artists. I said before that at the time companies didn’t want their 2d departments to flop, but as time progressed a new alternative began to become prevalent: 3D animation. And this became a huge threat to 2D studios.
Important to note in this regard is the advent of Pixar in the mid 1990s. 3D animation had come a long way from its clunky, surrealist roots. And with the success of movies such as Toy Story and A Bug's Life, it proved itself to be an upcoming profitable medium. It wasn't just the animation though, Pixar had amazing storytellers and directors. And this shit was new, not directly based on an old Grimm Fairy tale or something. In short their whole package was amazing. Dreamworks started being active around this time too and added fuel to the 3D animation fire. Granted Shrek was based on fairy tales, but in a way that was a subversion and became incredibly iconic for it.
At the time Pixar was independent from Disney but working in contract with them. And the success was more than welcomed. As always in capitalism, the question of profitability comes into question. Traditional 2D animation, especially at the high framerate disney was known for, is expensive af to make. Often if directors and producers are not careful, a budget can really run away from you. For example, Toy Story only cost 30 Million USD to make. Treasure Planet cost 140 Million USD. (granted that's because of the combination of 3d and 2d elements. But Lilo and Stitch was almost strictly 2D and still cost more than Toy Story at 80 million USD.) Also, Disney also kinda oversaturated their market. They released a fuckton of straight to dvd sequels (which Disney himself was avidly against) which kinda degraded the overall quality of the Disney 2d animation brand.
There was also competition from other factors. The early 2000s saw the Harry Potter boom, and Lord of the Rings came not soon after. Those of course siphoned off a lot of attention. They were part of pre-established series. The experimental stories that Disney was doing at the time, i.e. AU versions of literary classics, fell flat because the target audience was not familiar with the origin sources, and those that were weren't interested in "kids movies" They had no fucking clue how to market them, and the target audiences didn’t know to look for them.
Lilo and Stitch actually met with success, because 1) they marketed the hell out of it and capitalized on Stitch's mascot-like status and 2) it was more rooted in the kid demographic rather than that awkward kid/teen straddle the other two had. But even Lilo and Stitch couldn't save the Orlando animation studio when Disney finally decided to shut it down. They concentrated the last of their 2D animation studios in Burbank, California. Pixar's contract with Disney ended in 2004, and Disney tried to capitalize on the success of 3D with their own films, Meet the Robinsons and Chicken Little. Both were uh...the Meet the Robinsons wasn't too bad but Chicken Little was like...trying to hard to be a hacky version of a Dreamworks movie Ratatouille was released by pixar independent of Disney which is a neat thing to note. And of course met with success Meanwhile 2D kept falling behind, and whenever it flopped like with Home on the Range it was just another nail in the coffin. Disney renewed its contract with Pixar, and after the release of The Princess and The Frog they switched gears to focus solely on 3D animated feature length films, relegating their 2D staff to tv shows. Granted there's some great shows like Gravity Falls etc but, the fact that they've given up on films is disappointing. But the numbers don't lie. Tangled was its biggest success in a long time. And then Frozen came and blew it out of the water.
tl:dr - People were tired of seeing grim fairy tales stories retold with musical numbers and sometimes talking animals. - Studios tried to use different sources for adaptations and put cool spins on them and incorporate new technology.
But it didn’t end up working in their favor and 2D animation declined because:
- success of studios that were using 3D animation (though credit can also be given to their pre-production staff/writers/storyboarders) - competition from other growing franchises, in some cases Disney cannibalizing its own profits (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) - Cost effectiveness of 3D vs 2D - Changing of fads and appeal to audience - Inability to market movies properly to target demographics - Studios actively sabotaging their 2d studios to have an excuse to tank them and focus on 3D work.
So yeah, that’s all I got. I’m definitely missing some nuances here though feel free to correct me whoever sees this.
Artist Spotlights!
🎤 _creativert_ 🥁 AbelDraws 🎷 Amaari
🎺 andiavang 🎸 Antonia
Interview below the cut!
Introduce yourself
🎤 HI! I'm a geeky, introverted artist who likes to explore many artistic mediums, but really only posts digital art. I kinda like to draw anything and everything, but recently I've been trying to focus more on my OC's! Besides art, I love reading, playing video games (despite the fact that I haven't played many recently) and I like writing stories too. In the future, I plan to create a webcomic story with my OC's. I hope you enjoy my work! Here's where you can find my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_creativert_/
🥁 Hi! I'm Abel. I'm a Design and Mech engineering student, but my passion is art. I love drawing and currently I'm working on my dream project, a comic named FIVE. This takes most of my free time, but besides that I'll be either rping, watching a movie with my friends, reading (usually webcomics) or listening to some tunes while charging my energy up. I preffer digital art over traditional, you can fix mistakes so very easily... I also get more freedom with a program than with the limited tools I own (and it looks way cleaner and nicer when I upload a digital pic than a traditional, but my photography skills are to blame there lmao)If you want to read my comic, it's up on tapas! https://tapas.io/series/FlVE But if you'd rather see some illustrations and doodles you should check my tumblr: https://abel-draws.tumblr.com/ 🎷 Hi! I'm an avid 3-d and 2-d idol fan as well as a bee fanatic!! Drawing/painting is mostly a hobby for me, but in the future, if time ever allows it, I'd like to sell every so often. My default medium is digital using program SAI but sometimes I'll pick up a pencil/watercolors for traditional pieces. If you'd like to take a look at some of my other works/doodles, my art twitter is here @ https://twitter.com/hiwamaari . 🎺 I’m predominantly a digital artist! But I also crochet, sew, and embroider! I’m Andiavang across all platforms! 🎸 Hi, my name is Antonia, I'm an artist who does traditional hand drawn art. I love to draw and listen to music, often in tandem with each other. You can find me on tumblr @chibiranmaruchan
Do you do commissions post? Where can we find the info?
🎤
🥁 https://abel-draws.tumblr.com/post/184015135166/commissions-are-open-i-renewed-my-commissions 🎺 https://andiavang.tumblr.com/post/186764888718/commissions-are-open-all-payment-through-paypal
Do you listen to music (or tv shows/films/anything else) when drawing?
🎤 Yes! I actually create a new playlist every month filled with songs that have recently come out, or new songs I found that I really like! Generally, I'll listen to music when sketching but once I get to the lineart and colors, I'll listen to podcasts. For podcasts, I really like story podcasts and true crime podcasts. A couple of my favorites are Crime Junkies, Myths and Legends, The Bright Sessions and The Edge of Sleep.
🥁 *Yes*. All the time. I don't usually watch shows while drawing because my atention is all focused on the piece at hand, so... I miss most of it x'D so I preffer listening to music by a mile. It also helps me get myself in a nice mood for drawing <3 🎷 I mostly listen to music, generally one song or album of whatever artist I'm vibing to at the time. Constant repeat lately has been Blackbear's Anonymous album and Mesemoas. 6th single, Crossing Threads. Solid 12/10 🎺 I mostly listen to music! Sometimes I listen to a Podcast instead 🎸 I do listen to music while I draw, if I'm on a tight deadline where I need to focus, I listen to the Pokémon mystery dungeon red and blue recuse team OST. If I have plenty of time to draw, then what I listen to depends on what I'm drawing. it may be where I am getting inspiration from or connected to the aesthetic of the drawing or directly connected to it.
What’s your favorite music artist/band? If you could ask your favorite band/music artist one question, what would it be?
🎤 Oohhh, this is pretty hard honestly. I don't really think I can choose a favorite, but no matter who I'd choose, I'd probably ask them who or what encouraged them to keep going along the path they chose.
🥁 Currently it's panic! At the disco, I'm listening to all their songs on loop constantly lmao. They have such great songs, they inspire me a *lot*. I even created a character based on one of their songs, he's the one I'll be drawing for this zine!:DI'd ask them about the meaning behing lots of their songs <3 The interviews at hand do not satisfy my curiosity enough lmao.I also love Halsey (her first album is my fave), Set it off, Maldita Nerea (a Spanish group) and plenty of musicals (Hamilton, Be more chill...) 🎷 I've so many favorite music artists its so hard to choose, but if I had to pick one, the male J-idol group ARASHI. And if I had to ask them a question, I'd ask them if they're happy and enjoying life well. 🎺 My fave band is Placebo! If hav to ask them what their inspiration would be for their early songs 🎸 My favourite artist is Hikaru Utada and I would ask her if she likes her pre-existing songs, some being based on her life, being used for kingdom hearts or if she would prefer to make songs specifically for the game, about the game itself?
Do you play an instrument? If not would you like to play one? Which one?
🎤 I have a guitar, but I'm still learning how to play that, and definitely want to dedicate more time to that in the future. I'm also kind of interested in learning the piano or violin!
🥁 Nope, but I *wish*, I have such admiration for people who do, seriously. Live music is the best. I'd love to learn how to play the piano, the guitar or maybe the ukelele... But I doubt I will, at least for now, my hands are pretty full with college and comic making. 🎷 I wish I could play the piano and any string instrument. Maybe violin or the harp. 🎺 I used to play the drums 🎸 I can play basic piano. I used to play a recorder when I was much younger.
Which song(s) are you going to draw?
🎤 Magic Island by TXT and Audio by Sia, Diplo and Labrinth
🥁 King of the clouds, by panic! At the disco. 🎷 To the Me of Those Days - KOKIA 🎺 Special K by Placebo 🎸 Sanctuary by Hikaru Utada & Slow dancing in the dark by Joji
What do you expect from this zine?
🎤 To see everyone create a work they're proud of based off of a song they like!
🥁 I just really liked the theme, I have all kinds of imagery and videos in my head about several songs I'm obsessed with. It's a nice excuse to draw a pretty, fleshed out illustration and to learn some new songs in the way from the others' pieces<3 🎷 To be introduced to many different genre's of music and to hopefully find a song/genre I didn't expect to like! 🎺 Mostly just to interact with different people and artists! Make same new friends! 🎸 I expect to see a wide range of music presented, of different genres and both lyrical and instrumental. I hope the music resonates with the individual, something they're proud to share with the other participants and the eventual readers. I would like to have a journey through the zine, experiencing different emotions from everyone's art pieces.
Anything else you want to add?
🎤 Everyone has been super nice so far, and I really look forward to seeing everyone's pieces!
🥁 Best of lucks to everyone participating! I can't wait to see everyone's pieces together :D 🎷 Thank you for taking interest in this zine! All the artists have put in so much love into each of their pieces. It's been a pleasure to see so many different styles, their works-in-progress and I'm equally excited to see everyone's final product. I hope everyone is able to enjoy all the wonderful artworks being created and produced for all the songs being represented here when the zine releases. ^^
