Today I had not one but two Trader Joes products that are 5/5 bottlecaps! The first, is Trader Joe's JosephsBrau dark double bock lager. The second, is Trader Joe's Minty Dark Chocolate Stars. Full review of the beer below: Look: a deep copper when in soft light but when the light is host or use flash it is a dark brown a tan head that disappears and leaves no lacing. Smell: Stone fruit such as dark plums and dates. Molasses and smoke with some malty yeastyness to it. Taste: a full-body mouthfeel with little carbonation. The taste was more akin to smoke than sweet but overall a pleasant experience even if you have a sweet tooth. I still tasted molasses and malt and sweetened dates. Pairing: obviously anything from Trader Joe's but specifically meats or other savory items such as stews, roasts, or grilled.
