Mama Mia
Mamma Mia! - Berlin - October 12, 2007 (House-Cam's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Claudia Stangl (u/s Donna), Betty Vermeulen, Iris Schumacher, Melanie Ortner, Detlef Leistenschneider, Andreas Lichtenberger NOTES: A technical run-though a couple days before the Berlin premiere. It runs pretty smoothly for the most part, but there are a couple hiccups. Most notably are that the cast practice Under Attack during the interval and the set gets jammed during the Summer Night City scene change (just after the Winner Takes it All). One of the better quality stage shot videos. There's almost no spotlight washout and the neon floor is included in this video. Mamma Mia! - Brazil - June, 2010 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT: MP4 (SD) CAST: Kiara Sasso (Donna Sheridan), Pati Amoroso (Sophie Sheridan), Saulo Vasconcelos (Sam Carmichael), Cleto Baccic (Harry Bright), Carlos Arruza (Bill Austin), Thiago Machado (Sky), Rachel Ripani (Tanya), Andrezza Massei (Rosie), Priscila Marques (Ali), Raquel Paulin (Lisa) Mamma Mia! - Broadway - January 26, 2006 FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Lauren Mufson (Donna Sheridan), Carey Anderson (Sophie Sheridan), John Dossett (Sam Carmichael), David Beach (Harry Bright), Mark L Montgomery (Bill Austin), Andy Kelso (Sky), Judy McLane (Tanya), Olga Merediz (Rosie), Ben Gettinger (Pepper), Olivia Oguma (Ali), Samantha Eggers (Lisa) Mamma Mia! - Broadway - November 21, 2012 (Lanelle's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Judy McLane (Donna Sheridan), Christy Altomare (Sophie Sheridan), Victor Wallace (u/s Sam Carmichael), Graham Rowat (Harry Bright), Daniel Cooney (Bill Austin), Zak Resnick (Sky), Felicia Finley (Tanya), Laureen Cohn (Rosie), Natalie Bradshaw (u/s Ali), Thomasina Gross (Lisa) NOTES: Performances in this video have previously been incorrectly attributed to Aaron Lazar (Sam) and Monica Kapoor (Ali). Does not include the curtain call or bonus songs. Mamma Mia! - Essen - May 10, 2007 (House-Cam's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Lone van Roosendaal (Donna Sheridan), Romina Langenhan (Sophie Sheridan), Gido Schimanski (Sam Carmichael), Frank Winkels (Harry Bright), Jörg Zuch (Bill Austin), Kerstin-Marie Mäkelburg (Tanya), Barbara Tartaglia (Rosie) NOTES: Director's tape, no zoom. Soundboard sound. Mamma Mia! - Hamburg - 2005 (House-Cam's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Carolin Fortenbacher (Donna Sheridan), Valerie Link (Sophie Sheridan), Frank Logemann (Sam Carmichael), Ulrich Allroggen (Bill Austin), Betty Vermeulen (Tanya), Iris Schumacher (Rosie) NOTES: Single cam proshot with no zooms. Filmed at a slight angle, so it's not entirely horizontal, but it's still a steady capture of the full show, megamix songs, and even a little post-show maintenance. Mamma Mia! - Hollywood Bowl - July 30, 2017 (Closing Night) (SJ Bernly's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Jennifer Nettles (Donna Sheridan), Dove Cameron (Sophie Sheridan), Jaime Camil (Sam Carmichael), Hamish Linklater (Harry Bright), Steven Weber (Bill Austin), Corbin Bleu (Sky), Tisha Campbell-Martin (Tanya), Lea DeLaria (Rosie), Charlotte Mary Wen (Ali), Tiana Okoye (Lisa) Mamma Mia! - Madrid - February 24, 2005 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Nina (Donna Sheridan), Mariona Castillo (Sophie Sheridan), Alberto Vasquez (Sam Carmichael), Nando Gonzalez (Harry Bright), Bruno Squarcia (Bill Austin), Leandro Rivera (Sky), Marta Valverde (Tanya), Paula Sebastian (Rosie), David Ávila (Pepper), Jaime Zartarain (Eddie), Mónica Vives (Ali), Mamen Márquez (Lisa) NOTES: Multi-camera proshot filmed for CDT. The orchestrations are soundboard, though the dialogue is not. Voulez Vous lighting is out-of-sync, though the dance moves are still in-time—unfortunately, the last 20 minutes of the show are out-of-sync completely. The balcony overhang obstructs the top half of the stage in wideshots. Mamma Mia! - Pre-Broadway Tour - June 1, 2001 FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Louise Pitre (Donna Sheridan), Tina Maddigan (Sophie Sheridan), Dean Nolan (Harry Bright), Ken Marks (Bill Austin), Joe Machota (Sky), Karen Mason (Tanya), Judy Kaye (Rosie) NOTES: This show features the Original Broadway Cast at the third tryout theatre (Cadillac Winter Palace, Chicago). The recording actually shows some of what the show was originally like. Examples of this are, Donna stands on the other side when singing 'Mamma Mia', the revolving set looks different, and the costumes look VERY 90's. There is no neon floor in this video. Ends after 'I Have a Dream' Mamma Mia! - Second National Tour - July 21, 2009 (Opening Night) (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Michelle Dawson (Donna Sheridan), Liana Hunt (Sophie Sheridan), John Hemphill (Sam Carmichael), Michael Aaron Lindner (Harry Bright), Martin Kildare (Bill Austin), Adam Jacobs (Sky), Rachel Tyler (Tanya), Kittra Wynn Coomer (Rosie) NOTES: Great Capture of the tour on the first night. Everything is nicely captured and a solid touring cast! A Mamma Mia! - Second National Tour - July 23, 2009 (Closing Night) (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Michelle Dawson (Donna Sheridan), Liana Hunt (Sophie Sheridan), John Hemphill (Sam Carmichael), Michael Aaron Lindner (Harry Bright), Martin Kildare (Bill Austin), Adam Jacobs (Sky), Rachel Tyler (Tanya), Kittra Wynn Coomer (Rosie) NOTES: Final capture of the tour on the last night. Everything is nicely captured and a solid touring cast! A Mamma Mia! - Stuttgart - December 29, 2004 (House-Cam's master) FORMAT: VOB (no smalls) (SD) CAST: Silke Braas (u/s Sophie Sheridan) NOTES: It's a very nice stage shot. Little spotlight washout and a very high quality soundboard recording, especially when you compare it to other German stageshots of the show. However, I must fault picture quality, it is very pixelated, like it's been scaled up from an online video. Neon floor is included. Mamma Mia! - Stuttgart Revival - August, 2013 FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Willemijn Verkaik (t/r Donna Sheridan), Eva Serrarens (Sophie Sheridan), Jerry Marwig (Sam Carmichael), Matthias Otte (u/s Harry Bright), Marek Sarnowski (Bill Austin), James Cook (Sky), Betty Vermuelen (Tanya), Barbara Raunegger (Rosie), Pierre Damen (Pepper), Denys Magda (Eddie), Annakathrin Naderer (Ali), Rebecca Stahlhut (Lisa) NOTES: Filmed during Willemijn's short stint as Donna, and she's simply phenomenal in the role. Acts it brilliantly, sings it even better and is just adorable and awesome all around. The rest of the cast are also great, The video is filmed from central stalls and features a completely unobstructed view of the stage. Mamma Mia! - Utrecht - 2005 (House-Cam's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Simone Kleinsma (Donna Sheridan), Céline Purcell (Sophie Sheridan), Hajo Bruins (Sam Carmichael), Fred Butter (Harry Bright), Oren Schrijver (Sky), Annemieke van der Ploeg (u/s Tanya), Marjolijn Touw (u/s Rosie) NOTES: Housecam, so no zoom. Soundboard sound. Mamma Mia! - Utrecht - May 28, 2005 FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Simone Kleinsma (Donna Sheridan), Bettina Holwerda (u/s Sophie Sheridan), Hajo Bruins (Sam Carmichael), Filip Bolluyt (Harry Bright), Jon van Eerd (Bill Austin), Doris Baaten (Rosie) Mamma Mia! - West End - September 14, 2002 FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) | TRADER'S NOTES: Working on uploading, PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST CAST: Louise Plowright (Donna Sheridan), Laura Michelle Kelly (Sophie Sheridan), Simon Slater (Sam Carmichael), Peter Forbes (Harry Bright), Rohan Tickell (Bill Austin), Susannah Fellows (Tanya), Selina Chilton (Ali), Shona White (Lisa) NOTES: Good record to have of the show. Filmed on a VHS tape and age is apparent, but still quite watchable. Every 20 minutes or so, the sound cuts out for around 5 seconds. Does not include curtain call or megamix. Good use of zooms, however due to film age, faces aren’t overly clear. Neon floor is used in this performance. Only known recording of the show in London.

A Friday night spent with your best girl — ok, fiancée — having dinner from a local Mexican joint — La Taqueria Mixteca, newly on 937 Delivers! — that is berg spicy to my delicate whiteboy tastebuds, but extremely delicious, pleasantly drunk on “margarita wine” — thank you, Trader’s Joe’s — watching BABYLON BERLIN, a weird but wonderful 1920’s period German noir. another get to know me game
@malionnes
tagged me:
name: Tracy
nickname: Trai, which is what I go by on here and basically any platform that lets me input my own name. It’s just what I prefer. It started when I was young and on platforms like Neopets and was using it as something a touch more adrogynous because of Internet Stranger Danger, but as I grew it just became about being a nickname I had picked for myself and liked. I went through a phase as a kid where I spelled my full name with an i To Be Creative and I think this was kind of an outgrowth of that. It’s actually weird because it’s how I refer to myself and how my friends I’ve met on platforms like this/who knew me in high school refer to me, but my college friends just call me Tracy. It’s not really a disconnect or anything; it’s just kind of funny.
gender: Female.
star sign: Capricorn.
height: 5′3″ish.
sexuality: Bi/pan. I use pan more often because gender hasn’t been a factor in attraction for me, but I don’t mind bi being used interchangeably/because it’s a bit more easy for people to understand. Bi umbrella!
dream trip: I’ve already been to London/England, but there’s a lot that I didn’t get to see and want to. Chawton, the Jane Austen house museum, is a big dream. Haworth (the Bronte parsonage) and the Sherlock Holmes museum are on that list, too, as are a few bookshops I only found in the past few years (Persephone Books, Gay’s the Word, etc). I’d also like to go to Italy one day because a family trip there had to be canceled when my stepdad seriously hurt his back. The trip had largely been for my benefit because I took Italian in high school and my stepdad (who had been there several times before) really wanted my mom and I to see Italy, so it’s still a bit sad we never made it over there. My other big ones are Belgium (particularly Bruges; you can guess what movie I love) and Germany (Berlin in particular, as a Christopher Isherwood devotee).
average hours of sleep: Probably seven or so on weekends but I try to leave myself about nine hours on the days I have to work. I can function on less, but I feel a bit better when I’ve gotten eight or nine.
why i made a tumblr: I had a brief flirtation with Fanforum that led me here because I was a One Tree Hill, specifically Naley, fan who wanted interaction with other fans.
dog or cat person: I like both. I’ve loved dogs my entire life, but as I’ve gotten older a lot of my friends have been cat people and I’ve really seen how good they can be, too. Plus a good friend of mine took in a stray who had kittens and when you get to spend a weekend with sweet kittens who are very playful and cuddly it is a joy. (They are now grown cats but we still call them kittens...)
when i made my blog: Apparently my anniversary just passed (April 2nd, 2010).
followers: 1,900ish. I’ve been hovering within sight of that 2k mark for like three years LMAO and I’m not sure why most of them are still here! My big fandoms used to be OTH and Doctor Who and that’s where a lot of them came from.
reason[s] for my url: Mark is one of my original characters. Before this I had two URLs related to Haley from OTH. She’s still a character that means a lot to me, but the further I got from my OTH fandom days on here I didn’t feel it fit anymore.
— 5 things you’ll find in my room:
Books. Lots of books. Both prose and comics. And my ereader.
A small assortment of stuffed animals/dolls and Funkos. Currently my John Constantine Funko sits on my bookshelf and my childhood bear is on my bed.
Currently I have a fraction of a tin and then a full tin of Trader Joe’s Jingle Jangle because chocolate seasonal treats are a good thing.
Some DVDs/BluRays.
A lot of my clothes, obviously. I have a lot of Broadway show shirts and a lot of Spider-Man shirts...
— 5 things that make me happy:
Books and reading. Bookstore browsing and ordering online. My ereader. Writing.
Live theater. I’m lucky enough to live within an easy journey of Broadway.
Movies. Moviegoing is a big thing in my family.
My friends and family. I have a solid group of friends I made in college, a small handful from before then, and a number of great online friends I met either through here or through podcasting and fandom circles. My family is scattered across several locations but they’re great and supportive.
Queer culture. Between the performers, authors, artists, etc. I admire and my really supportive and loving queer friends (who run the gamut from bi themselves, trans/enby, ace, poly, gay or lesbian, etc), I’m in a good place and I’m grateful.
— 5 things i’m currently into:
Why does this question always make it impossible for me to think of what I’m into?? LMFAO
There’s been several recent period films I loved (Gerwig Little Women, de Wilde Emma, Portrait of a Lady on Fire). Watch them, please!
Ali Smith. I started reading How to be both and I wish I had given it a chance a lot sooner because the things it has to say about bisexuality, binary gender norms, and grief could have helped me through certain struggles I’ve had. I haven’t gotten all the way through it because Pandemic Brain, but I ordered two more books of hers recently because a lot of her oeuvre seems very my jam.
My old stalwart performers whose filmographies I keep the most tabs on (David Tennant, Benedict Cumberbatch, Matt Bomer Evan Rachel Wood) as well as ones I’m coming to love more and more (Florence Pugh, Jeffrey Wright, Rami Malek, tons of others).
I should really watch more documentaries? In the past few months Every Act of Life (on Terrence McNally) and Making Montgomery Clift were really illuminating so I’m trying to seek out more of those, especially on queer culture (Chris & Don was one I loved in the past). I’m not really into the idea of watching Tiger King or anything like that (too voyeuristic and exploitative) but the ones made by responsible folks about ignored topics, I’m interested in.
Black Monday. Truly, this show is a gift.
— 5 things on my to do list:
There’s a few graphic memoirs I really want to read (Noelle Stevenson, Roz Chast, Kabi Nagata).
I have some stuff out from the library that I have to hang onto for the duration of the closures that I’ll be getting to soon.
Finish the shows I was in the middle of watching/rewatching (Mr. Robot and One Day at a Time are the biggest).
Focus more on reading since the pandemic has been making that tough.
Get through the backlog of movies since I have nothing else to do while staying in my house on the days I don’t have to work.
If you want to steal, go for it!

NAME : xiaopeng :( NICKNAME : BASIL :)
FACECLAIM : INVADER ZIM BABEY PRONOUNS : they/them or she/her HEIGHT : 5′6″ :\ BIRTHDAY : October 16 AESTHETIC : ex forever 21 employee + asian bbg with lululemon leggings and a fully beat face even tho im just going to trader joes + sad 90s goth from a jhonen vasquez comic LAST SONG YOU LISTENED TO : retrey yung joup knea by ros sereysothea FAVORITE MUSE (S) YOU’VE WRITTEN : honestly....im havin a blast writing for zigbert. but i also had fun writing hannibal lecter and invader zim and bill cipher !!
* GETTING TO KNOW THE ACCOUNT :
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE ON THIS MUSE : i got really into d*vid b*wie stuff earlier this year and ofc i already loved aliens and scifi so ziggy stardust was right up mi alley. initially he wasnt even my favorite musical era/b*wie persona (i liked the berlin era stuff more) but he has grown on me a lot and now im even doing my thesis film on a character based on ziggy LOL
also !!! @itscnlyfcrever found some of my b*wie art through my art blog....i was so fascinated with their rp and stuff that i kept thinking i should get back into rp too (i took a three year hiatus after rping zim because school got really hard) so they convinced me to set up my account and stuff!!! and here we are today.......... WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE : i luv doing alien worldbuilding stuff!! not like zig had any actual lore to begin with so i get to make up a lot of it and i have a lot of freedom to invent his personality and backstory and alien origins. sometimes i feel like i bore people because all i want to write about is how weird and NOT HUMAN and bizarre ziggy really is....but imo the scifi aspect is more interesting than the celebrity/musician aspect!! (THAT STUFF IS REALLY INTRESTING TOO THO). i think its fun to write about how obliviously vain and egotistical he is but also about how weird human life is through the eyes of someone who hasnt been on earth for very long WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING : oh.......i keep a word document of my favorite HP lovecraft lines that i read through so i can always remember how to be pretentious and wordy :) FAVORITE TYPES OF THREADS : threads that are exciting and sort of crazy and actiony! i dont like fluffy stuff usually ... i think i really like threads where people find out he’s an alien but i also really like threads that force him to think a lot because i have fun writing out his thought processes. i like plots that really have a definite goal to work towards so i can always know the end goal of what im writing for. ok ngl i like writing with about ziggy and cardinal copia a lot please dont look at me BIGGEST STRUGGLE IN REGARDS TO YOUR CURRENT MUSE : i am SO deeply self conscious about the way i write zigbert :( ziggy stardust is like a cultural icon but even so he has no backstory or personality (fuck u b*wie you lied ziggy stardust was NOT conceived as a concept album it was just a bunch of songs he had already done put together that he later strung together a VERY VAGUE narrative for) so i feel like every direction i choose to move in....IS THE WRONG DIRECTION LOL like if i make him too shallow, does that contradict the fact that he’s sometimes portrayed as very thoughtful or deep? i make him enjoy his celebrity status and crave attention but does that contradict the way hes sometimes portrayed as a rebel messiah ? sometimes having so little to go off of....makes u feel lost and confused :[
i also feel like hes boring. hes supposed to be CRAZAAAAAAY hes a hedonistic promiscuous outer space cocaine snorting alien freak like ... i make him really boring sometimes. its because im a very boring person irl

BEING A BACHELOR HAS ITS ADVANTAGES
A home cooked meal a rarity for a bachelor in Key West. Ergo, I eat out most evenings. Not last night, however. God looked down on me with favor. Cindy cooked!
Cindy and her husband Larry are from Ontario, Canada. They have a second home in Key West. We came together because of this blog. Cindy a loyal reader.
I met Cindy and Larry for the firs time last year at the Chart Room. Then again this year. Cindy asked if I would come to dinner some evening. Definitely! I was pleased with the invitation.
Last night, the occasion.
Cindy prepared lamb chops. Like I have never eaten. Great tasting lamb chops are difficult to get in recent years.
I watched Cindy cook them as I enjoyed a drink with Larry. She did not just broil them. I am not sure what she did. However, they were moved from one pan to another, a sauce or two poured over them.
We dined on their outside rear porch. Cindy served each person’s dish prepared. All 3 overflowing with lamb chops. I said, I can’t eat all this. Little did I know. I ate all of them. Finger licking good. The bones left free of meat.
Delicious!
Cindy set a spectacular table also. An exceptional hostess. A combination of Perle Mesta and Julia Child.
An admonition to Cindy: Invite me again!
I am not leaving Larry out. However, he was no competition for Cindy’s lamb chops.
Larry is a mechanical contractor. Still works. However is able to do so from Key West. His 2 sons back home doing the hands on.
I am a lucky man. I now have 3 great cooks occasionally feeding me. Donna, Andrea, and Cindy.
Forget me not ladies!
Busy afternoon yesterday. Three hours on the go. A haircut, lunch at Fernandy’s, the Farmers Market, Publix, and K-Mart. I was tired when I got home.
Tonight, Berlin’s for dinner. Mary my date, Bria Ansara the entertainment. Looking forward to the evening.
A bit of Key West history.
It was the roaring 20’s. Everyone making money, dancing the Charleston, generally enjoying life.
On this day in 1925, Herbert Hoover, wife Lou Henry, and friends arrived in Key West on the yacht Kilkenny. Hoover a wealthy man. A respected person when it came to economics. At the time of his visit, he was Secretary of Commerce.
The group stayed at the Casa Marina.
Four years later, Hoover was President. Soon after taking office, the dancing stopped. The roaring ’20’s disappeared. Replaced by the Great Depression.
Sadness has befallen Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim and the family of Jorge Jimenez.
Wednesday night Boeheim was driving home following Syracuse’s victory over Louisville. Icy road. I-690.
Jimenez had been a passenger in another car. The car skidded because of the icy road. It stopped against a guard rail. Perpendicular to the highway. The car sticking out onto the highway.
The passengers, including Jimenez, left the car and were walking across the highway to the median. No lights on the highway.
Boeheim came along. Saw the car sticking out in the highway. In trying to avoid the car, struck Jimenez who was still crossing the highway. Jimenez died.
Policed report Boeheim and the driver of the other car were tested for alcohol and drugs. None involved. Speed not an issue. Police conclude the event a pure accident.
The Jimenez family a wreck, Boeheim a wreck. He attended but did not himself conduct practice yesterday. Duke scheduled for saturday night at the Carrier Dome. Questionable at this time whether Boeheim will coach. Consideration also being given to transferring the game from the Carrier Dome to Duke’s home court.
Prayers in order for both Jimenez and Boeheim.
Pardons in the air. Who, if anyone, will Trump pardon?
Lincoln was confronted with a pardon decision during the Civil War.
It was early 1862. Nathaniel Gordon was scheduled to be hung February 2. Gordon had been an American captain of a slave vessel. He was a slave trader.
Gordon was carrying 800-900 Africans to Cuba or Brazil to be sold. An American vessel captured Gordon and his ship. The U.S. had made international slave trading a crime 40 years earlier.
Many slave traders had been caught, tried, and convicted prior to Gordon. None had received the ultimate penalty: death. Gordon was to be the first.
Application was made to Lincoln for a pardon. He agonized over the decision. He finally said that “…..any man who, for paltry gain and stimulated only by avarice, can rob Africa of her children to sell into interminable bondage, I never will pardon.”
He did however extend Gordon’s date of death by 17 days. Lincoln did so in order for Gordon to have sufficient time to make peace with his God.
On February 21, Gordon became the only man in American history to be executed for the crime of slave trading.
I close with a thought re the U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant who was arrested with guns and other equipment. A white supremacist, his intent was to lead a terrorist attack on members of Congress and the media.
Interestingly, only Democratic Congressional persons were scheduled for death. The media included Joe Scarborough.
Trump has a comment about everything. The Lieutenant was arrested last friday. A week has gone by and Trump has uttered not one word re the situation.
Strange? Not really so. Consistent with his white supremacist/nationalistic feelings, dislike of those who oppose him, and his attitude re the media.
Enjoy your day!

The subtle yet powerfully subversive and uniquely creative work of Chinchilla Lee has been comprehensively featured in the “Wrong Shelves/Altered Selves” catalogue published by Gagosian Galleries. It followed her 2016 retrospective shows in New York, Tokio, and Milan. Beginning in the late 1980’s, influenced by the fall of the Berlin Wall, the loss of her pet turtle Chuckles, and product placement strategies deployed by multinational corporations – particularly in James Bond films – Chinchilla questioned the hegemonic organizational conventions deployed in large supermarkets; conventions, that she perceptively observed, were reproduced in the humble bodegas in her native Bronx neighborhood.
Chinchilla’s early work went unnoticed for two decades as supermarket clerks assumed that an absent-minded patron had misplaced a random item on a shelf. Her exquisitely staged and aesthetically challenging choices, however, were first noted by Brandon Savage, who as an emerging art critic and assistant manager at the Grand Concourse ShopRite, uncovered Chinchilla’s performative work and site-specific installations while reviewing security cameras’ footage.
While her oeuvre is wide-ranging and complex, the works trace an idiosyncratic evolution of personal, and activist socio-cultural concerns. The first item in the Gagosian catalogue shows a single jar of Mrs. Adler’s Gefilte Fish placed among boxes of Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper. In this work Crocker-Adler Chinchilla questioned the prevailing assumptions about the social order, particularly the urban zeitgeist of marginalization, negotiated identities, and lumpen proletarianism. Echoes of that work are seen in the Pellegrino/KeyFood Seltzer Project (figure 1), which served as a banner for the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Later works interrogated socially enforced gender and sexual identities focusing on the prescribed dichotomies in health and beauty displays. Her focus on antiperspirants and shaving paraphernalia, which featured mixing selected items across gendered shelves, confronted shoppers with unexpected post-patriarchal and post-colonial choices within the context of omni-present neo-liberal consumerism.
Her mature work, more subtle and abstract, has been referenced as personal exorcisms; typical of her contemporary art-making is Parsley/Cilantro? (figure 2). Also Free-Range Organic Chicken/Not! which was commissioned for a fall 2018 opening at the Park Slope Food Coop. But due to undisclosed confidential reasons the event has been cancelled. There is yet hope that it will be staged at the planned Trader Joe’s Gowanus in 2025.
