From a new body of work based on the act of "waiting". As a city dweller movement and motion is a constant occurrence. People on the move with down time in between. Stop, go, stop, go. Glimpses of personal time. I've recently been working on the surfaces of my paintings. I want more layers and paint but I like the sketchy drawings that happen through my process.

I live in a community that is 90% African American. On Sundays people watching as the church goers pass by is somewhat of a fashion show. Here a woman sits with her red shoes and pocket book to match. I took a looser, more spontaneous approach to this painting with just a bit of detail on the sofa.
