Love is memories of my son growing up. He would always give me “sweet heart candies” for Valentine’s Day just because he knows ever since I’m such a sweet-tooth and we would enjoy candies together. I would come to his day-care-school during Valentine’s Day and he would make me a card always. I will never get tired telling our story about how I am so inspired with my son, Travis Atreyu @atreyudizon. Literally growing up together, being a young single mom raising my only son and still persevering to pursue my dream of being a fashion designer & artist... He had been my number one fan since the very start and never seize to lift my spirits. My son had inspired me to be the best person I can be because there is no better seeing the light in his eyes when any single little dream we aspired comes true. In his eyes he would always remind me how beautiful I am and how beautiful my works are... I want to be the best mother I can be because I am the only one he's got... But more so, the love he has brought into my life I will never tire of working hard to bring him a better life as his parent. My life journey with my son became the biggest inspiration for us that we made our own little children's book memoir... My son writing and me drawing every single memories into an illustration. It is such a cathartic experience that reminds me of the days I prayed for the things I have now. Writing our book together, we wanted to share our story of humbling beginnings and actually manifesting our dream to reality. We want to pay forward this blessing in hopes that our story could also inspire other single mothers and children of single parent households that anything is possible with love and perseverance. Life will throw us crisis and problems but in the end things gets better. This illustration is inspired from one of my favorite memory with my son and as a budding designer, my first time to be invited to attend the Philippine Fashion Week in 2009 (12 years ago) and my son had been my regular plus one ever since... the cutest fashion accessory ever!
