mhm, I've been looking at my older drawings and I really have a thing for dynamics where the girl is cheerful, energetic & loves all and there's a quiet/sweet and slightly more reserved boy who really admires her and loves her being that way - and could risk anything for them, even if that makes them go a bit extreme and cross lines that they usually won't.
(It can go the other way around too with the guy and the girl's roles reversed, it's the girl who's the more cheerful one usually tho)
saiaka, noremma, shuyuka.. There are probably tons more too- All fall into this category pretty well hshfj and I read my older fanworks of them earlier, they're actually really well written in character. If only I were to be a more skilled artist, it could have reached more people out there... the dialogues, narrations, the monologues and the expressions are pretty on the spot in my opinion, I guess that's what I want to do well in the first place, I'll keep getting better bit by bit as I try.
Tpn spoilers below**
I honestly feel like hikaai will end up falling in this category too. I'm getting strong noremma vibes with this one especially, bc norman does something pretty extreme near the end of tpn and emma strives to save him, while he thinks he's beyond hope and is going to die. He pretends he's okay and lies to put up a strong front but eventually, emma is able to see through his lies, call him out on it and says he's a liar, stops him last minute and we find out he was actually very scared all along and was pushing himself so much for what he thought was for everyone's sake(especially emma and ray's)
while..I'm not entirely satisfied with the ending of the series(it made me really sad back then), they do still survive and live together. Emma wanted to save him and have him live with her and it happens.
Pfft I read that comic real-time too and I sort of stood my ground all the way abt them.. It did pay off! And I ACTUALLY even got some of the dialogues in the final eps RIGHT. I drew something in advance and it came TRUE.
I was suddenly reminded of them this morning and how much I loved them!! Oh and they BOTH lied to each other as well. I feel like you may like one ship if you like the other.
What was I trying to say again? Right... I don't know if hikaru can actually be saved(it's why I've been continuously inquiring what is it that he's actually done because you can't save someone who's gone too far) but the moment the idea of it had been brought up by none other than Ai, I just feel like that's how the story will go. He's suffering and probably carrying a lot and he thinks he's doomed, he doesn't care about what happens to him. But Ai does. And I feel like the most important thing in this comic is what Ai wants and her say in things. So.. I'm actually not so worried now that I think of it. If I'm the writer, I'd let Ai have her way and get what she desires in the end, whether Hikaru thinks he's beyond saving actually matters less than that in terms of the plot. His argument matters less than Ai on this matter lol, Ai's the stronger figure here both within the story and in a meta sense too!
I've read stories like this a lot in fact. The work could break that pattern ofc, but there's a buildup that should certainly be addressed. If Ai loves this guy and wants Aqua and Ruby to save him, it's going to happen one way or the other. It's not something too much to worry about!
I think that's how I started drawing a lot of the ship after that was proposed in fact...the hunch I had must have stemmed from this. I've already been there and I'm here now, let's see how it's gonna go and I really hope Fatal and Mephisto's context will be addressed, come on, it can't be anyone but Hikaru in those songs and that has to be addressed, it's about time. I think that's why Aqua's calling him out rn too. Can't really picture any other things about it in fact!

Everytime I send an ask I acicebtlaly unfollow but anyways, back to wriotlsley, (spoilers for fontaine is you plan on playing or someone else) he had like tpn situation but when he found out he killed them to save his "siblings" befuase of this he was obviously sent to prison but he kind overthrew the past Duke of meropide(the prison) at the end of his sentence , so now he's risen to power and is influential in fontaine , working alongside to chief justice at times. Personality wise, he's playful but he's also extremely calculating , when the Mc goes to meropide for the archon quest he does manipulate things behind the scene and has spies of sorts planted in the prison to watch certain prisoners. So in a sense he's sort of like dazia with a playful facade bur under in calculating and (at times) manipulative ( he's so pookie🥳🥳🥳)
UGHHHHH HE SOUNDS SO INTERESTING maybe one day ill try out genshin but it won't be for a long while </3 i can only do one game at a time and i fear that wuwa has stolen my heart it's so fun.

182 Days of TPN - Day 128
Chapter 128: "I've Decided"
I love Emma so much for this. She agrees that the annihilation would be a smart way to ensure that their family can live safely and happily in this world, but it is by no means the best way to reach that future. I understand Norman's drive for revenge on the aristocrats and those who play an active part of keeping the farm systems running, but the whole method to achieve that is just morally wrong, especially to attack those who are innocently going about their days as normal. (during this part of the conversation, the anime has "Existence of an Insider" playing, which famously played in s1ep5 when Ray reveals he's a double agent to Norman, so it's almost like roles switched in regards to whom we're supposed to be cautious about.)
Tumblr media
She also agrees that escaping into the human world may be dangerous for them as well since they dunno how well they'll be accepted there, but still wishes to take that chance. Their whole journey up to this point was full of risks, optimism and resolve, so naturally Emma is willing to put her beliefs into such an iffy idea. All that is quite similar to her reasoning later in ch178 when they're all about to cross over actually and if it was for this recent ask I may not have thought about this just now. (perhaps that's another reason Ray chooses to trust in Emma so strongly, as he's heard her speak similar truths before during this moment.)
Tumblr media
Anime is wild for having Norman make a comment like that. Naturally I love Ray getting angry at him for it.
Tumblr media
Lowkey funny to me how it's the thought of not having Emma smile anymore that causes Norman to be like "oh wait, I certainly can't have that," and proceeds to talk through the situation more openly about a sort of compromise.
Tumblr media
Maybe I'm the idiot, but how would you exactly defeat the demons without killing them? It's not like you could mortally wound them since they'll regenerate quickly, yeah? (unless we're chatting about Norman's drug that has yet to be revealed, since that forces them to degenerate. though that'll still lead them to death, just slowly. idk. this is why i write these out days beforehand so i can think and try to make sense of random shit like this.)
Tumblr media
Norman, I regret to inform you that you're in a fantasy type manga. Impossible things are gonna happen no matter what you wanna believe.
Tumblr media
He goes through this whole spiel about the Seven Walls being a total mystery and claims there's absolutely no proof of the place actually existing and Emma fires back telling him they've basically found the entrance already and it's such a perfect in-your-face moment for her and I love it.
Tumblr media
The way her grip tightens on him.. aahh she wants to take the pressure off him so badly so he can just be Norman again instead of the WM persona and it hurts!
Tumblr media
Hug her! Hug her, you fool! She needs many hugs!
Tumblr media
How can you expect to her relax with that fake smile on your face? If ya wanted to be convincing you should've just HUGGED HER. (i'm surprisingly passionate about this moment suddenly, dunno why.)
Tumblr media
Perhaps it because it didn't happen in the anime that I'm fond of the embrace now? Instead we get Emma just reaching for his hand.
Tumblr media
And after she asks Norman if the annihilation is truly what he wants and if it's tough carry everything by himself, he simply replies with "no" followed by the below. Like damn boy, and here I thought manga Norman was being harsh.
Tumblr media
Spoilers: he did, in fact, not think about it when Emma returned. In his defense, she arrived a bit too late. But also in her defense, a lotta things happened at the Seven Walls.
Tumblr media
Enjoy the brief happiness while you can.
Tumblr media
My boy gets sidelined so hard during this chapter that despite all the chatter that's going on, he only got about seven total speech bubbles.
Tumblr media
Favorite panel/moment:
I'm afraid Norman fails to understand that Emma is gonna make her own agreement between them whether he likes it or not.
Tumblr media
I absolutely love the way Norman freaks out, even if it's definitely a valid concern about if they could actually return from the Seven Walls. C'mon boss, this is Emma we're talking about here, of course her plan is gonna be reckless. He should've expected that.
Tumblr media
She's got a fair point about the first Ratri being able to return. And I'll never get over how she thinks this task/burden she volunteers for is simple. Emma is amazing. Crazy, but we love her.
Tumblr media
In the anime it had the trio agree to find Sonju & Mujika instead (since the Seven Walls really don't exist in that silly adaptation) and I did kinda enjoy the quick banter between Emma & Norman about how many days the search should be. Not including anything else here though because this is longer than intended and I am very tired.

Ok. Lbctpn. Let's talk:
(Uuhhh mentions of some heavy and gory content, spoilers for both too)
I was thinking about how you know the whole farm thing and eating of people so I'm on the fence if I want to have this in The City (it'd be district 23) or in the Tpn world entirely, and I think I'm leaning towards Tpn world.
Main 3:
Emma = Don Quixote
Norman = Sinclair
Ray = Yi Sang
Originally I was going to have it be the Canto IV trio because thier personalities fit more but I decided to go backseat trio instead because (I LOVE THEM) I feel like I can have more freedom by using the main Sinners. Ofc I want continuity but also it's for fun.
The villains:
Isabella = Hermann
Krone = Kromer
Hermann seems to be a reoccurring threat throughout and just has that serious and sort of elegant look like Isabella, but also the conviction to see her goals through no matter the cost. Kromer I thought because of Krones crazy faces (I kid you not) but then I also remembered she would probably betray Hermann to get the mama role and inevitably dies in the end. I'll make her less crazy and more like Sister Krone.
Side characters:
Don = Heathcliff
Gilda = Yuri
I just feel like it's fitting, Heathcliff is brash and focused on fighting his way to his solution but I'll make him more sympathetic like Don. Yuri because (I MISS HER) she's got that softness yet she also seems smart.
World:
I was thinking how I want to structure this and I'm going to have the Vida become a Golden bough. They stick the seeds into a person and a bough sprouts which they collect. Tge more mature and smart of a person, the brighter and more vibrant a bough will shine.
Both humans and "demons" can live together but those "demons" will have a much higher power status. "Demons" in this case are going to be abnormalities. Many abnormalities are capable of human communication and seem quite intelligent, which brings me to my next point.
I think I'm going to have the Queen of Demons be Carmen(?) Because technically she's the mother of all abnormalities. I'd have to make her be more evil and cunning, seeking our these boughs for her own gain. I'm not sure if I should keep her human or make an Abno Carmen, I'll think about that.
And if I add Lobcorp characters I might stretch it out to include Ruina as well, it would be helpful to fill roles but I'll keep the characters of the Escape arc to just Limbus.
I'm debating on who to make the children? Gracefield has many residents, I was thinking on just making it the Sinners but that only gives me about 12... and I really think I'd have trouble giving roles to the much younger kids (lmao I can't see Merusault as a toddler😭😭) so I'll probably extend that to minor limbus characters and maybe others in the project moon series too (like i did with Yuri!)
Anyways that all I have so far, very undeveloped and new but I'll be thinking and changing lots! Just something for fun :)

#OOOOOOOOO OMG?????????????????#Im always thinking about how much i want Norman to meet Yuugo but Lucas is so interestingggg#because as funny as freaking tf out of Skunk Dad is i am starving in the desert for more Lucas development#and the parallels are insane i mean. guy who spent years planning to kill a few demons to save a few humans#vs guy who spent years planning to kill ALL demons to save ALL humans#they would have so many Conversations.....................................#do you think Lucas would be on board with Norman's plan idk he could be like Gillian and go 'i can't bring myself to forgive them'#but at the same time he's like 30 and he's pretty level-headed I think he has the emotional maturity to understand genocide isn't the answe#yeah i'm pretty sure he would be on Emma's side here. then Norman would give him a 'we're not so different' speech OOOO CLUTCHING MY HEAD#tpn spoilers#the promised neverland spoilers
amazing points in the tags from @darklight-owl!
I've expanded on it before in this post but I plan to actually explore their dynamic more in a fic they make me so insane
Some people complain about everyone going along with Emma's mindset (but I do think Gillian's "i care about my friends more than I hate demons" makes sense) and it would be cool to see the adult's perspective on Norman's plan since they have been hurt THE LONGEST and arguably THE MOST
THIRTEEN YEARS IS NOTHING TO SNEEZE AT
most of the characters have some sort of self-sacrificial aspect, but Lucas and Norman's fragile idea of minerva since they have to fill the role of leaders and the shoes he left behind to fill is so important to meeee
(Oliver and Emma also taking on that role as well later because norman and lucas inspired them IM SO ILL)
Tumblr media
THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN OLIVER AND NORMAN SHOULD BE ADDRESSED MORE TOO LIKE?! Albino leader character that smiles when people are in trouble and takes every burden upon themselves??? GET THEM TO TALK PLZ-
having all the characters address toxic expectations when they are not in a life or death situation in the human world IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME PLZ AND THANK U
i would pay so much money for them to meet

#Introduction Arc #Escape Arc #<-- I'm still new to all the arcs #(Apparently my brain liked the way the first season/first arc of the manga went and decided to hyperfixate on just that #and maybe I'll start the post-escape arcs later?? #IDK
You, a decent chunk of the fanbase, and TPN Committee with how much of the merchandise focuses on that lmao
A number of things about the TPN Wiki are contested, but I do follow its lead on how it splits up the story into eleven arcs, including the designation between the introduction and escape arcs for my own organizing purposes, though for simplicity the majority of people will refer to it all as the escape arc. With how short the introduction is and how similar it is to the escape arc, the distinction is pretty negligible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let it never be said that I hide my biases on this blog.
(And Krone was definitely my least favorite part of the series, she was a good antagonist… and she helped showcase a few other important worldbuilding details, but she got a bit annoying to me?)
With Krone purposely being portrayed to contrast with Isabella and hype her up as the more terrifying foe, I can understand this, though things like the inclusion of her doll in the anime I didn't see as her being annoying so much as "oh great this is going to be a quick cheat to play up fears of mental illness because CrEePy DoLl to converse with since the anime did away with internal monologues 🙃" that came with the added bonus of playing into racial stereotypes of Black women being more masculine and brutish than white women. My mind is unable to separate that aspect of her depiction from the meta conversation around it, but even without getting into the extensive sordid history of poc's portrayal in Western media, it does make me more sympathetic to her. All that internalized rage at the systemic injustice she and countless other children experienced while knowing she as an individual is powerless to end it; a deep self-loathing of buying into said system that we comparatively only see surface briefly during her conversation with the kids in chapter 20/episode 7 and in her final moments in chapter 23/episode 8 but must have always been present in the very back of her mind. An awful, agonizing existence, without excusing the cruelty she perpetrated in the name of it.
AND THE ISABELLA NOVEL??? I DIDN'T KNOW THAT EXISTED!
I don't think most people on the English-speaking side of the fandom do unless they're really in the thick of the brainrot so you're good lol
But yes, there are four light novels for the series! I've talked about the first one here, the second and third ones here (spoilers for post-escape), and have a very brief general overview of most of the stories in all four here (more spoilers). You'd probably get a lot out of Isabella's story in the second one and the stories in the first one.
It lends sooo much to Emma and Isabella's dynamic, which I found just as heartbreaking as Norman's 'death'. Her whole 'you should give up' speech seemed genuine from her, and Isabella attempting to get Emma to conform to the system she couldn't beat>>> amazing character writing.
The dynamic and complicated balance of Isabella wanting to empower her daughter and provide her with the tools she would need to survive while also wanting to squash out her hope of upending the system to both save her from the wretched heartbreak of attempting and failing at a nigh impossible feat, and for petty reaffirmation that the choice she made to survive over a decade ago was the only one she could make; the optimism and stubbornness of her own youth reflected in Emma simultaneously so endearing and so painful. Beautiful stuff, and a large factor in what endeared the series to me so deeply.
AND YES RAY'S LACK OF INFANTILE AMNESIA WAS KIND OF WEIRD. I assumed it was one of those 'suspend your disbelief pretty please' sort of moments. And usually I'm willing to ignore any plot problems if I love the characters (which I do) and yet, Ray's whole reveal was completely off-putting and weird. If I were to try to rework that plot point, where Ray would still know about the farm beforehand, but it wouldn't be soo... 'dues es machina'?
The dmotta3 "ooo I'm Ray I'm not like other boys I remember when I was a fetus" quote lives rent free in my head klfdgjkdsfj
For me the weight of the suffering and sacrifice he endured is commensurate with how incredibly lucky him lacking that was. Combined with the fantastical nature of them inhabiting a world with demons is and how egregious later beats happen toward the end of the series (but especially in the penultimate arc, oof), going back to it doesn't both me too much (and I also just really love the way the anime portrayed the reveal in general), though it could have been strengthened if it had been explicitly emphasized in relation to certain aspects of the ending.
I would do something where Isabella tries to slowly leak the information to Ray, as an almost 'last, fleeting hope'. She might see his high scores and wonder if she could save anyone, it might as well be her biological child. (Not entirely sure about this, it might oppose her characterization of validating her decision to comply with the system. Perhaps a better motivation would be Isabella wanting to love him normally. And thus, she wants him to know. This could create internal conflict, because she would also want to keep him ignorant, for his ~amazing brain~) For example, Isabella could mention to Ray that 'this child would only do x if they died. How silly, you know this child isn't like that' When that child is shipped out, they are forced by Isabella to do x, and Ray pieces it together along with the other clues. It breaks him for a while. He pours over books in the library and stops playing with the others as much, becoming more withdrawn. Isabella fears that Ray might have become ~traumatized~ and his brain might not be good anymore, and this might be a mess- Ray instead offers Isabella a deal. (IDK, something like that)
I'm firmly in the camp that if Isabella had to pick a favorite and prioritize the survival of one child, it would be Emma. Again, seeing so much of herself in her, so much potential, but without the extra reminder of one of the worst horrors visited upon her under this system. Ray's relationship with Isabella receives the most amount of focus within the fandom, and I'd be lying if I said it doesn't grip me too (hence the entire existence of the Isabella and Ray's Incredibly Fraught and Complicated Relationship Tag on this blog lol), but I get very hung-up on her consciously prioritizing his survival on the basis of their biological connection.
To plagiarize myself from this post:
I continue to debate how much of her maintaining her deal with Ray was strictly for pragmatic reasons and how much was due to wanting to keep him close out of some painfully complicated mess of emotions that was constantly oscillating between a tainted affection and spiteful hatred. Any time she would find herself falling into the former, forgetting the circumstances of their relationship, him being the living, breathing reminder of one of the worst things HQ forced her to endure would resurface and how they chose to put him in her plant as if to silently mock her and unknowingly rub in how pitiful the life of a Mom would always be under this system. To openly love him would be one step further in giving in than she’d already done by accepting the Mom position and loving all the other cattle children she raised for slaughter, and she hated to give that much more of herself than she already had when she wasn’t aware of his origins. So she would dutifully do what was tasked of her, but on her terms, as petty as they were. And once Ray was gone, hopefully she could finally put these turbulent feelings to rest.
But that constant oscillation between wanting to know him and wishing he didn't exist factoring into how she would drip feed information to him in your scenario is interesting.

TPN spoilers
Wait but isn't the ending kind of parallel to the beginning... I might be overthinking this, but see how at the start when they Norman and Emma find out about the harvest, Emma is worried about her family while Norman is worried about himself.
Fast forward to the end, how everyone is angry/annoyed/upset with Emma losing her memory, and it scares her. She's worried for herself (she evens shields herself for a small panel), and then Norman, in absolute relief, says, "Thank goodness, you're alive and healthy." He wasn't worried for himself and how much he's lost with Emma's memory gone, but instead he was concerned for how Emma was this entire time
I dont know man, i just love them a lot
