Obviously tpn is supposed to be a dark turn of sorts on Peter Pan, but. Something about Alice in wonderland also. Kids being the only people in the universe with their head on right and being painfully aware of it.

To urge myself to write more, I’ve decided to try out oneshot fanfic commissions :D
If you are interested or want to suggest something, please refer to my ask box or DMs. Once the fic is written, if you'd like it public, it will be posted to ao3 with the link posted on my blog
(read my intro if you’re new to my blog before you decide to interact though. Everyone's welcome except for antis/fan cops and other internet bullies who often invade fandom spaces)
But first, here is a list of fandoms I can write for, and my personal boundaries when it comes to fictional writing
Fandoms:
Peter Pan & related media
The Stanley Parable (TSP)
The Promised Neverland (TPN)
Back to the Future trilogy (BTTF)
Les Miserables (book not musical)
Bendy and the Ink Machine (BATIM)
Bendy and the Dark Revival (BATDR)
Indiana Jones trilogy
Heathers
Newsies
A Series Of Unfortunate Events (ASOUE)
The Outsiders
West Side Story
Grease
And I'm sure there’s others I'm forgetting but if you have any suggestions, ask and I might approve.
Now on to my writing boundaries
---
Stuff I will write:
Physical whump (Of any intensity)
Erotica (As long as the character’s age lands somewhere between 15 & 55)
Age gap relationships (Again, as long as the age range is 15 - 55)
Death & tragedy
Romance
Family bonding fluff
Confessions
Slash
Fights/Arguments
Kissing/first kiss
Fix-its
Crack
Hurt/comfort & angst
Stuff I will write, but I’d prefer not to
Femslash (I just don’t enjoy it as much as straight or mxm dynamics so the oneshot wouldn’t be as good)
Heavy Fetish stuff (it depends on the fandom & what the specific kink is)
Tooth-rotting fluff (I enjoy writing relationships with dark qualities so when everything’s all glitter and rainbows, it's not really my thing)
Modern AU of fantasy/historical characters (I will maybe write modern au, it just depends on what fandom you’re asking for)
Fandom crossovers (crack crossovers are fine, I just find serious fandom crossovers a bit tedious to write because my brain works so directly)
Your own OC/self insert (I will give it a go, but because I don't know the character, I might accidentally make them act quite OOC so the fic might not be up to standard)
Y/N fics (I just can’t because i don’t know what the ladies/gents want from a character lol)
Stuff I will NOT write
Erotica of characters who are really really young (I have nothing against people who create writing/art of extremely young characters because it's just works of fiction & i know there's no malicious intent behind it, but for me personally, writing stuff like that just feels a bit icky. So please pick a ship with characters in the previous mentioned age range. Thanks.)
FTM transgender headcanons (I use writing as an escape from my own dysphoria, if you’ve read my introduction, you’ll know i'm ftm trans, and being forced to conceive a story where a canonically cisgender character’s sudden transness is the center focus is so unbelievably triggering for me. Again, nothing against people who indulge in these types of headcannons, but please don’t ask me to make one of these)
Fetishes like scat and omorashi (I stand by Y.K.I.N.M.K.A.T.O. so do whatever you want, but personally I just can’t bring myself to write these types of things, it's just so out of my league)
I might update this later cause I know I've forgotten so many things. But contact me via ask box/DMs if you want something written :)

Black Clover ch356
Oh, so these angels aren’t really a spell but people Morris and/or Lucius did some crazy experiment on to help add to the chaos? Fantastic.. though I doubt it was anyone we really cared about if they were rebels. Even though defeating them already seems like a hard enough task I assume trying to save and restore the people would add another level of difficulty to the whole operation.
Most the magic knights are quick to give up but despite the hard challenge in front of them, at least we got some like En and Sol who are both standing strong and giving their all.
All hope isn’t lost as we finally get a little assistance from a certain spirit, not only strengthening the knight’s magic, but weakening the enemies as well.
So last week when I wondered whether Yuno was hiding some wind or star magic under those bandages on his left arm, it turns out to be both. The large scale mana zone this spells conjures up is pretty insane too. And if that ain’t crazy enough, the buffs and debuffs Sylph is casting inside it is due to manipulating time and space. Seems our tiny spirit and Yuno got both Dialga and Palkia under their control.
We also get quick glimpses of Klaus, Letoile, and plenty of other knights from other squads gaining some confidence and charging in. Some faces I vaguely recognize from the Royal Knights Exam too which is nice. I always enjoy seeing familiar faces.
Now the whole control over time and space seems a bit random at first, considering wind and star magic are both entirely different from the time magic we’ve seen, except we’ve seen Slyph do something similar before. Time literally stopped when she was first summoned way back in ch20 during the dungeon arc.
Now, I dunno why it took me this long until a chapter titled “Neverland” for me to make the connection that Yuno is essentially like Peter Pan. The boy uses wind magic to fly, he named his very fairy-looking spirit Bell (why I call and tag her as sylph instead im not sure) and now has a spell resemble the story of Neverland itself by not allowing time to pass within its space! And it’s not like I’m unfamiliar with the fairy tale, like hello TPN has its own Neverland/Peter Pan parallels too (obviously) but I’m still so shocked and pleasantly surprised that all these details kept stacking up in the background to accumulate in this big moment.
Lucius makes a comment about how Yuno is his “rival” and that’s certainly not something our boy takes lightly. There’s no way he’s gonna allow this sinister man to call himself that when he wounded his true rival. The anger is real and Yuno manages to slice off part of Lucius’ antler, so good knowing this dude can indeed be harmed, but with his power I’m sure he’s gonna recover with no issue.
I believe there’s a break next week.. which is fine. I’ll just sit her patiently to see more about the Silvas. It’s fine. Totally.

Hey. :D We know about Normans feelings for Emma but what do you think about Emmas feelings for Norman? Do you think her feelings for him differ from her feelings for the other family members?
Hi!
Well, I would say that I am almost certain that Emma has no idea of the true extent of Norman's feelings for her. For us, the way he looks at her when he gets shipped and tries to gently cup her face is a glaringly obvious sign of a longing beyond that of a sibling. (plus we can read his thoughts as well, which does help...)
But Norman never articulates his feelings more openly to Emma, and Emma seems entirely oblivious. It's understandable for a 11.5 year-old girl to be oblivious to romantic affections unless they are spelled out to her word by word, and honestly Emma seems on the slightly masculine side who wouldn't pay much attention to romance.
Plus consider how she is overwhelmed in that situation by the reality of Norman's impending death, and that all of her other siblings may follow.
Almost two years had passed since then, and Emma is more mature, but she has spent a huge amount of her time entirely focused on fighting demons and searching to cross the Seven Seas Walls, and to change the fate of the world. I think she has been sufficiently distracted to not have time to reflect on romantic ideas.
She has a valid excuse, but perhaps some of the reason why she threw herself in so hard was to not have to think about certain things... who knows, either case, she had been extremely distracted, just look how she didn't even take care of her hair.
So no, I don't think she has had any chances to realize any feelings she may or may not have. Even in chapter 127, Emma is being contrasted against the maturity and grown up arguments of Norman by both visually being exaggerated as childish, and acting also more emotional and taking the more naive side of the argument.
So I think it makes sense for the introspective and sensitive Norman to have realized and for the more brash and extroverted Emma to be oblivious.
In that regard, it's difficult to tell if beyond that oblivious surface lies any deeper feelings. Well, uh, unless you treat this scene as an allegory of that.
When Emma lays dying at goldy pond, her subconscious reminds her of the FAMILY she loves as siblings...
As she sinks further into the depths of her subconscious, the person she sees is Norman.
Emma looks surprised at him. Why is he here? Indeed, why does the deepest parts of Emma's subconscious hold Norman? Why does her mind separate Norman into a different category to her other siblings?
When Norman's presence pulls her back to the surface, we see her greeted by Mama. It makes sense that Emma loves Mama differently than she loves her siblings, you love your mother in a different kind of way, and Emma knows this.
So then what was that other category of love she holds for Norman? And does the fact that this Norman in her mind lies below the surface mean that she has some feelings about him that she is not aware of?
Well, I can't answer those questions with just this single possible clue, so I think it's left vague, but perhaps it is meant to be a scene with subtle hints. We know Posuka-sensei uses her art to convey poetic meanings sometimes, like when she aged up or down Norman based on his behaviour, or portrayed Emma as more childish when she clung to naive hopes.
So maybe that scene of Emma's subconscious does mean something more?
In any case, at least Norman's feelings doesn't seem to have changed. When he sees Emma again for the first time, his desire to touch her face with gentle care which has already signified his special feelings for her are back
(and ppl I dunno about you, but I don't see an awful lot of people wanting to caress their siblings this way... no matter how close they are...)
It's still poetic to me how in the shipping scene Norman wanted to touch Emma, but couldn't due to Mama's intervention. Whereas here, Norman can finally fulfill that same desire.
However now this moment is interrupted again, but by the missing ear that Emma cut off in order to throw Isabella off her track. So Isabella still has an effect on the scene, but it's not the same level of interruption as before.
While hugging Norman or crying is fairly standard sibling behaviour, Emma does also touch his face, although she is far from gentle... but well, she has always been brash.
Emma also holds Norman's hands, something that also happens during their argument in chapter 127. While Emma is fairly open to touch people, she doesn't seem to share the same level of desire to touch Ray for example. Nor is Ray shown to touch Emma with the same level of intimacy that Norman does. When they have their heart to heart, Ray does touch Emma in comfort, but only on the shoulder and the head. These touches seem a lot more like something you may share between close siblings to me at least.
I guess my last thought is, that if I am right about the Peter Pan references, and Emma is a Wendy reference, whereas Norman is Peter Pan’s shadow, then I like how the roles are reversed, it is Peter Pan's side that is now the obvious one with romantic feelings and Wendy is more oblivious, stuck in childishness. After all, Peter Ratri's as Peter Pan and James Ratri's as James Hook as villain and hero are also reversed...

Okay, quick thought: We learned Emma got a new name (by Alex, presumably) after her memory loss, and we never found out which it was. Some speculated “Wendy” (you know, like the protagonist of Peter Pan), but I raise you another entry: Jane.
Just like an unindentified female person found without any clues about her true identity, Jane Doe (exactly how Emma was), but also like Wendy’s daughter in Peter Pan.
It’s just as plausible as everything else, I think, and got that nice morbid feeling, too 🤔
#I discovered yesterday *The Ballad of Jane Doe* and well#I like *Jane* even more as *Wendy*#since the latter is related so much with Peter Pan#I'm almost sad I didn't got this idea earlier and used it in my fanfiction#but well#listen to *Ryde the Cyclone* it's so fun and heartbreaking ^^#also what would be your headcanon for Emma's new name?#the promised neverland#tpn#ynn#yakusoku no neverland#Snickers babbles#yakusoku no nebārando#tpn emma#ynn emma#yakusoku no neverland emma#the promised neverland emma#emma

Alright so if Peter Ratri is supposed to be Peter Pan, James Ratri is Captain James Hook, Smee is, well, Smee, Emma is Wendy, Isabella is Tinkerbell and the Lambda Crew are the Lost Boys then…
Does that make Oliver and everyone from Goldy Pond Jake and the Neverland Pirates??

Hey! Thank you for appreciating my theories!
You are right, I had some trouble deciding if Andrew or Leuvis was a Tootles reference, exactly because the points that you raise.
I ended up pegging Andrew as Tootles mainly because both of them share the unusually unlucky trait which Leuvis was never associated with, and Andrew is directly shown to be made a fool of by missing the action when he can't find the right hideout.
Plus Curly is said to be the most "troublesome" lost boy, and honestly, who is more troublesome than Leuvis.
While we can't be sure, since the Peter Pan is much less well-known, I think Bayon's name is a direct reference to that, which is why I chose to use it in my theory. You are also right to point out the Puppy - Parvus reference being suspicious, we never see any other demon with a pet after all.
What we do have to remember at the end of the day though is that The Promised Neverland isn't a carbon copy of Peter Pan. Even if it makes some references and nods to the Peter Pan franchise, it is undoubtely a story and fiction in its own right, and there is only so far the references will reach.
I remember also reading in an author's response from Shirai-san that Leuvis is actually an amalgam of at least 3 character inspirations, so that sort of thing will always complicate an analysis.
Looking for hints and clues like this in a literary work is not an exact science, and I certainly won't claim my analyses are 100%
But I also think that the parallels that we can observe are WAY too many to write off as a simple coincidence.
Plus the authors have flat out admitted to have been using Captain Hook and the Crocodile themes as far back as starting to design the looks of demons, so they have been obviously thinking about Peter Pan references.
What I find the most fascinating and poetic about the Lost Boy references is the double meaning.
Peter Ratri's Lost Boys are not just lost to their families and the world, they have all lost their way in life. The demons on the hunting grounds are doing something they know is illegal, yet they can't hold themselves back from indulging on this path lost to normal demon society.
Then Andrew is clearly delusional, and has lost his way as a decent human being, willing to murder children in cold blood...
That sort of hidden poetic message really gets me to be honest. I find that to be the most genius part of this reference.
hey @couldnt-think-of-a-better-name , not trying to stir up The Discourse [tm] but if we’re comparing Lost Boys to GP Poachers, it seems to me that the better Lost Boy to map to Lewis would be Tootles because: »Shoots/stabs Wendy/Emma through the chest »Listens to and respects Wendy/Emma »Bumbles into things which easily translates to his house-demolishing time when blinded This works well if one does not take into context Peter Pan in Scarlet though, which does indeed map Lewis better with Curly especially thanks to Puppy to Parvus parallels. Just throwing it out there though.
And if my theory about Lewis being Mujika’s dad/father-figure SOMEHOW pans out, we may all be sleeping on a Slighty Lewis connection.

Personal highlights from the third chapter of the fanbook!!! You can read the entire chapter translation here :)
While executing GP, Shirai didn't realize how cool he was making Emma; he says that only after reading those chapters he realized how cool Emma had turned out to be :')
When Shirai can't come up with names for new characters, he goes through the credits of his DVDs. Jake and Monica are respectively after Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan.
Jake and Monica's deaths somehow parallel Conny's, being used to give a feeling of urgent danger
Demizu was asked to take Food Wars as reference for demons' meat in chapter 68
Shirai says that if Norman had been in GP, Lewis would never be bored 👀
The GP kids designs were set very quickly, and Gillian and Paula's designs took inspo from Barbara and Ayshe's early drafts. Honestly, I think it's incredible they turned out so good even with a short notice!!
The human world can be reached going up with GP's elevator, or going down with GF's staircase. GP's elevator takes to a forest in Australia. It's such a cool fact, I'm so sad we never saw the children actually cross those passages!!!
Shirai confirmed that James and Peter Ratri were named after James Hook and Peter Pan. I find it so interesting that from the Peter Pan tale, Shirai reversed the hero / villain roles!! The name “Ratri” on the other hand is taken from the night goddess of Indian mythology, and can be associated with “guardians”.
The comouflage of each farm is different!! Grace Field is "a happy orphanage playing family inside the House", Glory Bell is "like a town", Grand Valley and Goodwell Ridge are "school-like facilities". The caretakers names change accordingly.
Grace Field is the smallest farm that specializes in the development of brains. Glory Bell focuses on physical development along with the brain. Grand Valley and Goodwell Ridge have average quality brain and meat. I think we can say that the farm's meat quality order is similar to this: GF > GB > GV = GR
Max. shipping ages for the farms we know of are: GF = 12; GB = 15; GV = 17
Only Grace Field children have a transmitter. The children from Goldy Pond and Grand Valley didn't need to disable anything to escape.
Grand Valley can't afford to spend a lot of money per product like Grace Field, so they close the sky to prevent escape or theft and made an artificial sky like a big dome.
Peter offered Bayon to use GP as hunting ground “also to dispose of the escaped children” which makes me think... Apparently in other farms is pretty common to have children escape lmao. (Unless they're only taking about Yuugo's group escapees)
Compared to Grace Field, the children from Grand Valley and Glory Bell have more opportunities to come in contact with electronic devices. Nigel was familiar with machines since his times in Grand Valley.
Demons' optical nerve is particularly weak; masks' function is not only to prevent it from being hit, but also to shield it from direct light.
Shirai said he doesn't want to impose the author's ideals onto the readers, but he drew TPN with the thought that he didn't want a war
In Goldy Pond, Shirai prioritized developing demons over humans
Shirai said that “analyzing the demons as living things and not as monsters created a chance to win [against Lewis]” which is honestly very deep and interesting
Shirai's draft of the chapter 96 spread 😭😭😭
All the injured GP kids beds have children's drawings on the wall behind them I'm 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I can't believe I never noticed this!!!!!
(The Paula portrait 🥺🥺🥺 )
Shirai thinks the reason why TPN's children are all kind and friendly is that Posuka draws them, and Sugita said that the children drawn by Posuka have nothing evil in them. I'm (╥﹏╥)
“Ugo” was a candidate for Yugo's name: Shirai had a concept where Yugo noticed a book with his name (Ugo's Adventures) which eventually triggered their escape. This is such a cool idea, I'm actually sorry it didn't go like this?
Another candidate for Yuugo's name was George - like the director - suggested by Sugita because Yuugo's friends with Lucas. However, Shirai insisted it would have been rude to George Lucas, so they ultimately went for Yuugo (imagine having not one but 2 TPN characters named after you... Had I been in George Lucas' place, I'd be honored)
Yuugo is repeatedly refered as tsundere which is honestly hilarious
The release of every cattle child in the demon world was unplanned, but came as a natural consequence of Emma's character development
Shirai said that Emma is “easy to be misunderstood”. Couldn't agree with you more king.
It's not common to eat a loved one's brain when they die; Nous eating Nouma was an exception.
The cause of Yuugo's gray hair is canonly the stress (lol)
All the new info about the windmill boy!!!!!!!!!:
He was a coward, and that's why he was cautious. He found the underground pit while searching for a place to hide. He didn’t want to take the risk of being found by demons. So he couldn’t let anyone know of this place and piled up his guilt and pain. He found Lucas injured and on brink of death. Normally he wouldn’t do anything, but feeling guilty about everyone who he'd abandoned so far, he wanted to help. Yugo and Lucas were the heroes and hopes for the hunting ground children at that time. So, the kid knew Lucas. He wanted to heal Lucas for an opportunity of rebellion. Although he died of illness, to Lucas, the boy was one of his dear friends.
Violet was the one who brought in Adam to Oliver and others: that's because, besides from his incredible strength, she “instinctively felt that he was a good guy” :')
Fanbook chapter 1 highlights
#tpn#the promised neverland#tpn manga spoilers#tpn emma#tpn bunkerman#tpn gp gang#tpn fanbook#mine#They didn't say it explicitly but at this point I'm kinda convinced that the reason why Ray isn't part of Emma's flashbacks in chapter 93-#is just that they forgot about him.#Like Shirai said that Ray Mujika or Leuvis didn't appear in Emma’s subconscious because#“at that moment Emma’s desired future and the biggest consciousness in Emma’s mind at that time was to create a world where ‘GF Family’-#and ‘cattle children’ could live” bro does Ray look like a fish to you

The Promised Neverland singing contest
Gotta admit I took inspiration from this video, but like... with The Promised Neverland
In a "no-tragedy universe", all the characters from TPN are hosting a friendly singing-competition
The winner won't win anything special besides, well... being the announced winner
Isabella is hosting the competition and our favorite trio will be the judges (all of them will participates in this, but they won't be classified for obvious reasons)
...
Everyone is waiting outside the building where the competion is hosted.
Suddenly Isabella comes out and announce "Everybody, come in! The competition is about to start! And don't argue. It won't be over until every person who wants participating is over"
...
Gilda, at first a bit shy but then she relaxes: "Got me looking so crazy right now! Your love's got me looking so crazy right now!"
The trio: *smiles at her*
...
Queen levagralima, chaotically dancing throught the rhytm: "Rah Rah ah ah aaaah! Roma Romamaaaa! Gaga, oh lallaaaa! WANT YOUR BAD ROMANCE!"
Everyone: *feeling a little incomfortable and imbarassed at the scenes for some reason*
...
Leuvis, Isabella and Grandma: "JUMP! Jump, jump! You might as well juuump!"
The trio: " : / ... <:D "
...
Nat: *Moment of panic*
Everyone: *feels sorry for him and confused at the same time*
Emma: *gesturing to encourage him*
Nat: "... ... ... BABY! I compare your kiss from a rose on the grave..."
...
Gillian, while dancing: N.U.CK!! N.U.C.K!!
The trio: *clapping at her*
...
James Ratri/Minerva: "I love my shoes!..."
Peter Ratri, that looks annoyed and bored, since his brother basically forced him to partecipate in this duet: "... I love my shoes..."
The trio: *trying to not laught at Peter's reaction"
...
Sandy: Come my lady, come come my lady! You're my butterfly, sugar! Baby! Come my lady! Your're my pretty baby..."
Everyone: *excited*
The trio: *happy of Sandy's performance but a bit confused for the lyric's choice*
...
Don: *sings incomprehesible words, partially covered by the stoned notes from the key that he's hitting with all his strenght*
Everyone: *embarassed and cringed*
Nat, covering his ears: *whisper* "please, for the love of god! Someone stops him!"
...
Krone, while dancing messily at the song's rhytm: "Oh my gosh! Look at her butt! Oh my gosh! Look at her butt! ..."
Ray: *facepalming, annoyed and embarassed*
Norman: *astonished and embarassed*
Emma: *trying to not laught out loud and embarassed too*
....
Cislo: "I LIVE MY LIFE BY MYSELF!"
Barbara: "YEAH YEAH!
Cislo: "I CAN'T STAND A THING THAT YOU SAY!"
Barbara: "YEAH YEAH"
Cislo: "I'M NOT LISTENING..
Barbara: ...ANYWAAAAAAY! YEEEAHYEAAHYEAHHHHH"
Emma: *Impressed and excited for their performance*
Norman: *More than happy, but holding his chest for the vibrations incoming*
Ray: :O
...
Paula: *tries to play guitar but fails*
Always Paula: *leaves the stages laughing at themselves for the embarassment*

Chris, Jemima and Dominic together: "Lollipop Lollipop Oh, Lolli Lolli Lolli! Lollipop Lollipop Oh, Lolli Lolli Lolli..."
Dominic, suddenly: *POP* and then *embarassed*
Chris: "... ! ... Babombonbom ..."

...
Ray: "Working 9 to 5! *almost to himself* what a way to make a living...*
Emma and Norman: *both happy fro his performance but trying to not laught due the lyric choice"

Phil: *Can't reach the microphone*
Always Phil: *discouraged*
Emma: *comes and lifts him up*
Phil: :D "We can dance if you want to...!"

Goldypond gang: *crying and rooting for him*
...
Everyone: *touched for some reason*
Norman: This ain't loving, it's cleeaar to see! But darling... staaaay with meeeeeee...!"
...
While the trio is taking a closer look at all the participants' point, suddenly someone takes the stage
Ray: "!... Impossible!"
Norman: "He said he would have never participated!"
Emma: "Yeah! I knew it!"
*The music starts*
Yuugo: "Everytime it rains, it rains! ... Pennies from heaven... Don't you know, each cloud contaiiiin..."
...
Isabella: "And now... the last participant...!"
*The music starts*
Emma, happy to be there just for the sake of singing: "'Cus baby, you're a firework! Come on! Let your colors buuurn!!..."
Everyone: *clapping loudly and excited*
...
And now the winners!
In your opinion who should win?
Write it in the comments! Or reblog

Mujika is demon!Jesus & other possible Bible references in TPN
It’s time people to get ready to have your minds blown again, my newest crazy theory post is here!
Disclaimer: This post contains manga spoilers up to and including chapter 127. Also, I don’t mean to offend anyone’s religion, I’m just making comparisons out of interest, and I am getting most of my info from wikipedia. Chapter 127 full fan translation dropped, and not just for me, but for others as well it has instantly stuck out like a sore thumb how much Mujika’s story parallelled Jesus from the New Testament
The facts: 1) Musica’s very existence is an unexplained miracle, as she is able to do things no other demons can (keep her form without eating humans), and none knows where she came from (she is most likely of common birth).
2) She can and have been performing straight up miracles of “curing” demons of their hunger, and saving them from devolving into unintelligence.
3) What’s more, she has been passing her power to her followers and supporters, who can spread her “cure”, and teachings of the need to not eat humans in order to save even more demons from starvation and devolving.
4) Her blood taking away the demons’ hunger is basically a literal take on these Bible verses with illustration added as well:
5) She was persecuted and ordered to be killed by the rulers out of no fault of her own.
6) If you are still not convinced, she was LITERALLY called the demon MESSIAH by Norman, and I honestly don’t know if I could make it clearer...
It may seem a bit random at first, but I have already mentioned Bible references in TPN in my Mujika is Medusa theory post, so this isn’t really out of the blue. As a bit of a reminder, or if you haven’t seen that post here are the possible references:
1) Minerva’s mythology book has a snake and apple just like the story in Genesis.
2) Mujika herself is later associated with an apple on a cover.
3) The Promised Neverland may be a reference to the Promised Land from Exodus, as well as to Neverland from Peter Pan. This isn’t just a similarity in name, since their demon god is responsible for the PROMISE that we know ensures the NEVERLAND where no human child gets to grow up (since they get eaten). Right, that’s it, TPN is a mashup of Peter Pan and the Bible.
There we go, I have made my crazy and outlandish claim just like before, but can I give any even remotely believeable evidence for it?
Well, for the Peter Pan part, I have already made a huge post on the list of possible references, so please head to my Theory Directory where you can find a link. If that doesn’t work for you, I will also reblog this post with a link.
As for the Bible part, well, is there any evidence beyond Mujika? Ok, how about we play a small game. Try pronouncing Son-ju and then St. John. Hear any similarity? Am I messing with you? Well, yes and no. How about you take a look at the wiki info on St John, Jesus’ apostole (not to be confused with John the baptist).
Sooo, wasn’t Son-ju the only follower of Mujika left alive? What a strange coincidence... Then didn’t Son-ju also wear a fish shaped cloak pin? I thought it signified that they were underwater, but St. John was a fisherman...
Oh yeah, and isn’t it funny how we have James, Peter and Andrew all feature in St. John’s description? Weren’t there some characters in TPN also called these names...?
What’s even more interesting is John and James having been brothers, but John surviving James for a long time. I find that interesting because I recently discussed a theory by @fyria-hans that Sonju may have been the one wearing the Minerva cape and sending that morse coded message to the kids to stay put where they were.
Since it was morse code, they didn’t hear a voice, and in those panels the wide shouldered frame and those shoes really looked like Sonju’s. We know he had justification for wanting the cattle children to survive “in the wild”, and he also most likely had the skill to create fake tracks to throw off Andrew. So it is a possibility that he had been James’ supporter... The other interesting fact was that both St. James and James Ratri died first out of the cast. Btw, fun fact about St. Peter: he holds the keys to heaven. Isn’t that a bit like how Peter Ratri has control over the access to the human world, which would be pretty much heaven to the cattlechildren?
Oh btw, did you know that there were two apostoles called James? So the other one was known as the Lesser James? Hm, isn’t Norman kind of a smaller, younger version of James Ratri right now? Oh yeah, and did you know that St. Andrew was the brother of St. Peter? And he is also a patron of fishermen, farmers, miners and butchers?
Hmmm, sooo we he a small number of coincidences, surely there won’t be more! Right...? RIGHT?!
Well, you might know that St. Matthew is associated with an angel
Hmm, but where did we see angels in TPN?
Ah riiight, in Minerva’s famous mythology book! And isn’t it funny how there is a CUP next to that angel... Didn’t we just have MUJIKA associated with a CUP (of blood she offered) this chapter?!
Hmm, and wasn’t there a character who had a strange connection to Mujika we didn’t understand? That she showed up in his “DYING” MEMORIES? Here is another fun fact.
LEUVIS?! But didn’t I say in my Peter Pan theory that Leuvis was associated with the Lost Boy Curly? Am I contradicting myself? Well, lucky for me, we also have this:
So the authors have confirmed that their characters can hold multiple references, and my guess is that I may have just managed to find 2 out of 3 for Leuvis ;D (It’s funny how Shirai-san wanted to be so secretive about the references, right?) Similarly, I don’t think there is any problem going through the other characters and finding references to them. So let’s dive in further!
So there is another Apostole who is called JUDE (Thaddeus). That name bears perhaps a passing resemblance to LUCE, or not? How about the things associated with this apostole?
Wasn’t Luce a bit of a LOST CAUSE? And didn’t his servants weild CLUBS? Also, what about the time Emma threw an AXE at him? Hah, these coincidences sure are getting trippy, right?
While we are on the topic of Luce, I would like to point out that before he died he made this little comment:
Huuh, so his dad is some important mofo? But we sure haven’t seen or heard anything of him ever since... right? Well, how about you compare these panels for me?
This dude who murdered Mujika’s followers suuuure bears a passing resemblance to Luce, except he looks much more buff and badass... and older...
But lets not get sidetracked! We were looking at apostles, so how about I bring up the wiki info on another one?
Funny, didn’t I associate NOUMA (isn’t that slightly close to THOMA?) and NOUS with the Twins in my Peter Pan analysis? Btw, do you know that St. Thomas died by the spear, so he is associated with it? I Thought Nouma and Nous had spears... But there is a Thoma among the kids as well! Huh, but isn’t he always with Lani? Acting as if they were something like twins... huh... Weird, but let’s look at another apostole!
So Bartholomew doesn’t sound much like Bayon, except they both start with “Ba”, but did you know that St. Bartholomew, among other things is a patron of butchers and TRAPPERS. Huh, didn’t Bayon kinda enable the trapping and hunting of cattlechildren like wild animals at Goldy Pond...?
Also, yeah, we have a Nat among the kids again, and we also have a Phil... Did you know that we have a Mark as well? While Mark wasn’t an apostole, he has some written passages in the Bible...
But lets not get hung up on a couple of names that are similar sounding! Although I can’t help but wonder what could be the name of the demon king who ordered the death of Mujika... and if it sounds anything like PONTIUS PILATE who ordered the death of Jesus? It’s a shame we don’t have his name :(
But do you know a funny fact about Pilate? He was a ROMAN prefect. Huh, didn’t we have a handful of roman references in TPN? Like mirrored LATIN, or MINERVA, a ROMAN GODDESS?!
Hmm, you know what is a funny thought though? If Mujika is demon!Jesus, and we know that we have a demon!God (the one with the demon gylph written name, called just HIM in the anime), then I wonder if the analogy extends further. You know, God has sent Jesus to the human world to be the saviour of humankind, but then the humans in charge chose to persecute and kill him... although Jesus didn’t die permanently. So I can’t help but wonder if it wasn’t demon!God who sent Mujika as demon!Jesus to be the saviour of demonkind, only to find that the demons in charge had the bright idea of persecuting and trying to kill her... but luckily she isn’t dead even though everyone thought she died! Well, if that’s the case, I bet demon!God is facepalming right now. And if that analogy holds, it may also stand that the demons are an analogy for the jews (who had their PROMISED LAND from God, while demons have their PROMISED NEVERLAND from demon!God (which also fits with my idea that demon!God used their powers to literally create the demon world below the deep sea... you can read more on this in another post of mine)) whereas the cattlechildren are an analogy for the gentiles (non-jew). If you think I’m done and ready to finish this post on that crazy thought, then you are WRONG. Some of you may have read my post on my thoughts that Mujika may be a Medusa reference. If you haven’t, just look it up either in my Theory Directory, or in the links I will put in a reblog to this post. I was anxiously awaiting this chapters to see if it would disprove that theory or confirm it. And I will be honest, I was at first disappointed with this chapter, ‘cause like a damned fool, I was expecting to see snakes, or something about petrifying gaze, BUT then I looked further into the Medusa lore, and felt like an idiot and slapping myself. Why?
Medusa had 2 sisters in the myths, together they were known as the Gorgon sisters. But Medusa was different to the other two, and her name meant ruler/queen. Hmmm, doesn’t this panel look kiiinda like 3 sisters?
Also, just in case you missed it, I have circled a jar there that looks eerily similar to the golden water jar that the kids have. Tsk, all these coincidences that I keep spotting!
So the other thing about Medusa is that in all of the myths the goddess MINERVA wants to kill her out of no fault of Medusa. Didn’t we kinda have someone in TPN right now with a MINERVA alias say something similar?
Oh hello there Norman. Funny that you would say that... In the myth Minerva doesn’t kill Medusa herself, but aids the hero Perseus who cuts off Medusa’s head, which ends up on Minerva’s famous shield the Aegis. In many sources it is said that the shield is used to petrify Minerva’s enemies. But Medusa had one more funny quality about her that had the interest of Minerva in the mythology:
“ The character of Medusa can also be seen to come along with some qualities that emerge after her tale of origin. For example, one half of Medusa’s BLOOD is HEALING – and so, along with her petrifying ability, she could also heal. Blood taken from the veins on her LEFT was POISONOUS, while blood taken from her RIGHT could RESTORE THE DEAD TO LIFE.”
Huh, didn’t we just learn that Mujika’s blood is SPECIAL? That it can “CURE” the demons from their hunger of humans, but it is also DANGEROUS for the demons in charge and for the humans in case the “cured” demons decided to still eat humans? Btw, isn’t it funny how Mujika draws blood from her right in this panel when healing those villagers?
Maybe I didn’t need to be so worried about my Mujika Medusa theory after all...

TPN S02E09 - Initial Thoughts (anime-only)
[ Reaction video w/ captions/subs ] we collectively have a breakdown about the pen, please enjoy it pff-
.
... hmmm... yeah I... ain’t feeling it. I think my tpn feelings overall are carrying this more than anything pff. I didn’t hate it, it was just...... mediocre... like if this wasn’t tpn, I probably would have dropped it at this point.
BUT IT IS TPN SO LET’S GIVE SOME THOUGHTS.
.
. Random thoughts I don’t want to re-arrange
when Emma was like “share your pain with us!!”, I liked how Norman turned to Ray like “Ray. help. tell her I’m right” kind of like Ray did in s1 pfff-
Norman cried the words he didn’t allow himself to say in s1 :( I’M EMOTIONAL. it might not be the icing on the cake execution wise but GOD MY HEART. And knowing he’s going to die to it’s just- (well not if the pen has something to say about it but more about that later)
where- wheres my trio hug :((( RAY HUG THE CHILD NOW
it’s interesting that while Emma got the entire emotional speech spotlight, only Ray got a reaction shot to “I won’t live long”?? equivalent.... exchange...?
I thought Norman had a seizure when he broke down in front of Emma and Ray and I kinda wish he had because while it’s good to have him say it outright (a win for communicationnn), imagine THE ANGST. “I want to live with yo- *coughs up fountains of blood*”.
So. yknow that hideout Cislo or Vincent referenced when talking to Emma and Ray. Yknow where Norman hid the children they stole from farms, making it look like demons did it? ... w-what about them? will we see them? Are they getting left behind? it would have worked for Norman’s plan, since all they had to do was stay put and wait for demons to be yeeted. But now... he’d have to take them all too. But... I doubt we’re gonna introduce a bunch of new designs and characters? Or are we? Who knows. I don’t. I have unreasonably amount of protecc feelings for those children I’ve never even seen haha- WHERE ARE THEY. I mean... the plan rn is to immediately use the gate right? or is the plan to eradicte the GF farm staff and higher ups? I guess if thats the plan it might work. Or I guess the plan is to save Phil for now???
the idea of Sonju just... slicing his arm and throwing it at demons in a loop sounds so funny to me please someone make that.
I liked that Mujika turned to the lambda kids after giving a cup to the demon children but then we didn’t see their reaction or anything and then it cuts to the temple??? that was weird. was there sth missing there? confusion.
I also like Isabella remarking "[a radio] was supposed to be there" regarding the shelter, because it further heavily implies they know of the shelters and just let them be. Which further confirms that they should have just reframed the shelter and had the kids escape from it quickly but oH WELL.
I really liked demon Emma apologizing and Norman's reaction to that. it was a sweet little moment and like, the realization of apologizing for something that she didn't do but is aware of and all that. Cycle of hatred and all that shiz hell ye. Ik the anime won't rly delve into that but I kind of relish in the angst potential of the village - sure it was undone but some were still eaten and died and transforming people back won't bring those back. So, that’s some hella terrifying implications for families; and I'm assuming Norman is aware of those so. guilt time! not that he wasn't aware it was bad but yeah- I teared up at that moment :<<
I feel like this season really does its best when it’s doing the whole two worlds/species angle. Mujika and Sonju, the village, demon and human Emma... all that stuff.
I wish we had gotten more time (god this is really the season’s downfall) thought to see Vylk talk to the GF kids more often. it’s implied he told them not to hang out there before but I would have liked to have him show up a few more times before that but yeah. Runtime very RIP.
I also feel like CW is bending over backwards to put cliffhangers at the end of episodes. that was already a problem in s1 when they had Phil come in when Don and Gilda were in Isabella's room. it was obvious it'd be a copout but they still did it. I'm just wondering why we had to have Vincent disagree with the group to this extend (and if the shock value might play a part in that). we have 2 more episodes, why are they introducing more plot threads? Just streamline it you dofuses. I just don't know what good can come of it unless it's like an ultra big brain move to help them?? (and then we're back with the forcing cliffhangers thing) - if it's actual conflict, this'll just make things more confusing and clustered, and we don't have time for that right now imo. But who knows maybe it plays into something I just don't understand yet and it'll work out somehow
.
. Animation flow kinda dead.
I felt like this episode was kind of... awkwardly executed whenever something that was a slightly dynamic movement happened?
The whole bit while Emma is walking up to Norman could have been better, but it’s passable, except that a lot is spelled out for us.
But then she takes his hand really weirdly in a far away shot with bad inbetween timing?? what is that haha-
Or him collapsing is cut really weirdly. you barely really see it, you just kinda piece it together from Emma’s reaction and her catching him.
Most facial expressions are good though, which is arguably the more important part in this scene. I feel like a better execution just would have elevated it even more.
The only one I felt was really awkward in its entirety is Barbara’s scene with the children demons. I felt like that was in particular kind of stiff and the cut between the child and her was too sudden and felt jarring. TPN anime doesn’t really do that sort of stuff a lot, so imo it’s kind of “??” when they do it. With Norman it was too, but that at least had a good transition over to it (with bg and fg panning) and nice animation. Barbara’s just kind of switched. Tbh don’t switch it out, and as the child screams, switch over to her facial expression as her own voice fades into the scream? I think that would have done it too and also be low effort.
I think it’s moreso the flow of the shots than the actual shots though? it’s a bit too fast paced and sometimes missing inbetweens (like the wild demon eating sonju’s hand is literally just 2 frames) - it’s very weird. It’s jarring, but I can’t really explain why.
I’m sorry for the staff, I’m sure the production hasn’t been easy. maybe with the bluray release we’ll get some updated animations/inbetweens.
Some appreciation though:
as mentioned, most of the facial expressions, even if the body language was a bit stiff.
the cut from the trio talking to the eye-transition of the demon and the following breath animation looked nice. Also his arm regenerating!
Sonju smirking as he cuts his arm off, what a bastard
they didn’t have to show Vylk’s arm regenerating casually while they’re talking but they did.
.
. the lambda crew
If only I cared about you guys. Hahhh it’s just... introducing characters so close to the end is just. A mess. A recipe for disaster.
Where has the anime’s “show off the younger kids” angle gone? I thought they were always pretty good at that. but they haven’t really contributed anything since the whole tidbit about the older children always eating less for them. And even then it was just Lani and Thoma.
Potentially, what segments we saw in the shelter will come back for the GF raid thematically but I’m just... EH?
.
. the cure pen
at this point, just stick a syringe part at the end of the stick and just inject it and it’s gonna solve everything probably.
I just don’t understand why that needed to happen. Assuming they go to the human world, it’d be perfectly acceptable for me for medicine to be so advanced that it’d be able to like, lessen their symptoms and significantly improve their lifespan.
Don’t just... REMOVE their struggles. It’s okay to not be normal and cured. it’s okay for their lives to be impacted by it going forward. In fact, I’d much prefer that.
(added in later) OH wait they literally spell out why the cure being in the pen is meaningful - because it opens up a path where they can live through not having annihilated all the demons - it's essentially the moral "reward" for not killing them. Since they probably wouldn't have gotten it if they did that. I still think it wasn't needed and the blueprint on its own would suffice for another pen-convinience moment but I kind of get what they're going for, I just don't think it's worth it . In their case, going to the human world (while they don't know it) means having more medical expertise at their disposal which they can then use to survive. UNLESS they're actually not welcome over there and have to hide or something, in that case... that might be hard, true. I guess I'll come back to think about this once it's over. For now, it feels kind of unearned and it wouldn’t even have to be this way in my eyes which makes it somewhat worse.
But good, let’s say in-universe you need it NOW, then at least don’t put??? the medicine??? recipe??? INTO the hologram.
What if they just checked the GF blueprint and Norman goes “hey, Vincent... do you think this [database/archive room] could have some data on our experiments?” - Norman said he tried to develop a drug to help them but the supporters who had that data were purged. but... they had Smee to help them too. But SOMEHOW, a dude from 15 years ago just HAS the cure??? (at least let Norman develop it himself and have the data be just THE DATA and not the recipe).
It might still check out somewhat??
15+ years ago, James Ratri was assumingly still the gatekeeper since the switch to Peter seems somewhat recent considering his big "era of James has ended" speech.
I guess the implication is that just like Smee => Krone => Norman, a supporter all that time ago gave random person the pen when they escaped.
When Vylk found him, he also had just the data medium of the pen (not the entire pen), so maybe the farm thought they eliminated it and that’s why they didn’t change their methods to not work with those drugs anymore? It's still a bit curious that their experimentation hasn't changed at all in 15 years but maybe that's because they keep killing the smart people instead of making them scientists to research for them :D
Somewhere since those 15 years, Smee gave Krone the pen (probably a few years before she got to GF?), which means that at that point the gate the keyword "future" sent them to, was still in tact when Smee gave Krone the pen. Maybe WM wasn't discovered yet at that point?
then WM got discovered, James was chased. He made that phonecall update and was probably eventually killed, along with the human location (and likely bunkers since they knew a radio was supposed to be there, begs the question why they didn't remove it) being discovered (the one with the future keyword) and the gate there being destroyed.
The problem is just that it can make sense when you think about it for way too long and assume things in good-faith, but it still feels unearned.
Maybe I would care more or this would feel a little more earned if we knew ANYTHING about that person? They seemed fairly young, so it’s probably not Minerva/James Ratri. The “hope” talk reminded me of the book in the shelter, but I’m not sure if that checks out either? The cookies were rotten but not completely. I know cookies hold out relatively long, but would they rly not be completely rotten after 15 years? I MEAN. Maybe not. Who knows. I tried to google it but didn’t find anything.
But anyway. That tidbit is going into my “shelter kids OC project” I guess.
But even if the worldbuilding makes sense, I think the data set in itself makes little sense?? How did they find that pen part? Did a supporter give it to them? Why do they have the cure? Clearly their group of escapees wasn’t doing too hot (#help) and they seemed relatively young too so they probably couldn’t have worked in the farm.
Were the shelter escapees lambda escapees? but if that was the case, wouldn’t the WM group have secured the cure information more properly than in just one pen (maybe it was and those were just destroyed, to be fair) - it’s just WEIRD to put the cure for Lambda experiments on the same blueprint as the GF layout??? that makes so little sense.
Plus, why would you send them to GF, when it’s so secured and all that, and not just send them to the human support place our GF kids were sent with the “future” keyword, which had a gate. Maybe it didn’t exist 15 years ago (that the humans had control over it, that is), but even then it seems weird to me to imply to send them to GF instead of one of the other gates that existed. I mean. The “future” location’s gate wasn’t destroyed when Krone got the pen right?
I’m guessing maybe it was meant as help for escaping? But then again, why the cure? I guess if they met lambda experiments? I’m just confused.
Also: do we just accept that the layout of GUARDS and SECURITY MEASURES has not changed in 15 years???
.
*sigh* welp. Still looking forward to seeing some stuff with Isabella hopefully. Time... is not on their side and it shows. Neither run-time wise nor production wise.

Let’s Talk About “Ashley Goeth no Yukue” and “The Promised Neverland”
Today, I stumbled again on Shirai Kaiu earlier work: “Ashley Goeth no Yukue” Anyway, before we talk further, you can read the translation here:
Pt 1: https://imgur.com/a/PXKkMfd Pt 2: https://imgur.com/a/Pb6RP5V
(credit to @/ShamsTahsim on twitter who has provided the links)
This is a one-shot works by Shirai that tells a story from the POV of a boy named Haru Inoue. Haru had just gone through a heart transplant surgery due to an accident. But there’s something strange, he keeps dreaming of a memory that he’s unfamiliar with. The memory of another person named Ashley Goeth. One day, he sees a girl that keeps appearing in his memory the hospital he’s at, behaving wildly and screaming that “they” (the hospital workers) are going to kill her soul.
Now, long story short, here’s the twist: There’s never an actual heart-transplant occurred. The hospital Haru is in is actually a place called “Terminal 609,″ some kind of a prison for minors. Except, none of them are going to jail. Instead these “bad kids” would have their memory replaced by an artificial one (in this case, the criminal Ashley Goeth’s memory is replaced with an artificial person named “Haru Inoue”) in order to “reshape” their whole personality.
Here’s a the exact idea that Shirai had used:
Our protagonist, Haru, managed to find a close truth behind it all. Although he thinks that those fake doctors really did a transplant to him using organs of the “bad kids” that they had killed.
Now, where’s the connection to “The Promised Neverland”?
Well, for one, the idea of replaced memory is similar to the reward part of the TPN storyline. Which ended with our protagonist, Emma, suffering from memory loss.
Now, secondly, I think we can see it in this particular panel:
This panel is intriguing to me because of the exact word that Shirai used: “Paradise.”
I've always think that "The Promised Neverland" is a poetic title. Neverland. A place of happiness. A "paradise." Yet, referring to the Neverland of Peter Pan story, there's a cost to all of it. And in this "Neverland" that Shirai creates, it seems like the cost is faux happiness. An artificial paradise.
It feels to me that in both works (Ashley Goeth no Yukue & The Promised Neverland), Shirai is saying to us:
"There's a whole another world beyond what you know, would you choose venture further or are you satisfied with the happiness given?"
The concept of both works are dark and tragic. Yet, in my opinion, it still feels like there's an optimistic tone to it: The protagonists in both works are both give the chance to explore the truth. The difference is “Ashley Goeth no Yukue” ends on a tragic note, with the Haru’s failing to see the truth until the end and his memory being wiped again. While “The Promised Neverland” ends on a more optimistic note, with Emma succeeded to discover the whole truth and eventually bringing everyone out of the “Neverland.”
Well, personally, the idea of there’s hidden truth beyond what we can see is an intriguing one. Shirai Kaiu is an awesome writer, I think.
