Jackson, MS    GOOD MORNING JACKSON! We woke up at a nice, cool, 6 am ready to go for a walk before it rained. As we got ready we decided to ride our bikes to a coffee shop 2 miles away instead. As we got our bikes ready we watched a crane and an egret fish for breakfast and then we were on our way, biking out of the park, along the gravel road through beautiful color changing trees. To our left was a creek that still had fog sitting in places, and if the humidity wasn’t 98 percent, we may have rode forever. But the humidity was 98 percent so we rode to Cup, a coffee shop in The Quarter and got one cold brew and one Pumpkin Spice Latte, I think we all know who ordered what. We took them to go and headed back to the camper where Hannah took a warm shower to rinse off before we both got to work with views of the cranes and Herons still fishing nearby. As Hannah got to work on G-d knows what, she took a few sips of her Cold brew dreaming of what life would have been if only she ordered a Pumpkin Spice latte. David, knowing that little girl for years now, knows all Hannah’s sweet dreams and offered that girl a sip of his drink. After what seemed to be a Big Gulp™, Hannah returned Dave’s cup-o-joy and David got to work like a little dandy should. Although a certain event was not included in this diary where it should have been chronologically, it still happened. I will include it now just to be safe. When Hannah and D-Dog returned to Lil Poot on their bikes, with there coffees in tow, they saw a real sight to see as they gracefully dismounted. David shot a finger towards a bird in the water, like a Pointer dog shoots its body to a dead duck on the ground, and gingerly exclaimed “Hanns, look, that crane is about to catch a fish!” Sure nuff N yes I do that Crane shot its sleek noggin through to the wet world of an unlucky fish heading to work and ripped it out of a morose Wednesday into an exciting, adrenaline fueled, dry world for a terrible first impression of human’s side of paradise. As Hannah and David watched the Crane hold this fish about a foot above the water’s edge, the fish wiggled as hard as David imagined it could wiggle, but to no avail as it went on long enough for Hannah to wonder aloud, “What is it doing?” to which Dave-Dog responded, “I guess waiting for the fish to die.” Although I can not say that the fish ever died, I can say it quit its wiggling long enough for the crane to toss it back and suck it down for a nice, waterfront, breakfast. After getting their appetites built up to such great heights by that natural scene of nature, Hannah and David laid their bikes against the picnic table in their campsite area and walked into the bowels of Lil Poot. After the work day ended, Hannah and David exited Lil Poot and went for a pleasant walk around the campground and decided to stay for another night! That made the evening relaxing and productive as the two wanderers need not drive for three hours but instead need only cook dinner, catch up on work, and enjoy themselves. Although I can’t recall what David occupied his time with, I can say with confidence that Hannah made TACOS for dinner.
