What scenes should I illustrate from it? Because I want to do a bunch more but I'm not sure which.

It's a long-ass story so I'm sure there's a ton more that I could illustrate that would be interesting, and I've got a bunch of plane flights tomorrow, so if I run out of Writing Juice, I can just start burning Drawing Juice instead. But on what?

The hunting party.

Joe with his sleek, majestic, athletic peregrine falcon, Umayna, who he raised from birth to be his partner on the hunt. She’s the most valuable thing he owns.

Nicky has a European buzzard, sitting with her feathers puffed out and unready to fly. Joe found her along the side of the road in her first year and brought her home. With the wing injury that downed her and never healed quite right, Piccola could just about catch a tortoise, but she’d rather not try: both she and Nicky are mostly here to watch the other pair in action. Piccola only weighs a little over 1kg, but Nicky’s been holding her up a long time, so he’s bracing against his hip for extra support.
