My mind butts the judge’s glare. ‘_You don’t impress me_!’ While in the margin aisle, dressed in a flimsy pale printed dress, Jean chaperoned, by sidestepping a curtain of black gowns to heads in a circle. The judge gazed at the blond woman, I knew to despise wearing a chignon. Through elegant strides, in crystal slippers, she rounds the witness box’s top trim, to stand out from her hair stylist. Her mousy highlighted blond, curled locks shine volume, in waves over her shoulders. Her long manicured fingers feathered the top trim. She’s sworn in, into reciting our life, to a banal transcript of home life, with an academic flawless flow of words, fizzing my mind, while the judge’ upright posture meld. The judge’s piercing my regard, switches a fixation on me.
I keep Jean's intrinsic seduction outside my moat, the judge’s gaze thawing, to Barry Baskin inculcated behavior, dead ahead he meets my eyes again, and again, weighing my ego to no shame. I stepped out into the hallway, turned and along the pool of daylight down the gray Inland Revenue facade, pacing alongside the curtain wall, bearing a judge’s telling regard. ‘_How can you be so indifferent to such an admirable woman?_’ I’m preparing myself for Harry Goss’ petite lawyer for her reprimanding words. After I initialed every scripted correction and clauses, Goss’s little lady flips angry pages, at signing the bottom of the last page. ‘_You rendered my signature worthless!_’ By Jean’s fivefold alimony demand, on what we used to live on, one house instead of two. In my mind, the music stopped playing, and stepped up to her, dropped her wedding band, and engagement onyx ring, in her cupped hands, and turned away. In long strides, around the corner, the lobby’s elevator appeared, while I’m pressing my way through the glass partition, her words trailing. “It’s not what I wanted!” Short of the distant window, over the classic pitched roofs, I pressed the button. The doors are still in my face. I’m eager to fly away, but my heart cries for Lionel and Gavin.

The civilian must've passed out at some point while locked in the trunk, because when they next rose to consciousness, it was through the help of ice-cold water dumped on top of them.
They gasped, spluttering and coughing, looking up with wild eyes. They were trapped in what looked like a custom made metal chair, with restraints around their ankles and wrists to keep them from moving.
The man who had kidnapped them stood in front of them, smirking and holding a bucket that water was still dripping out of.
“Rise and shine, little bird,” he said with a widening grin.
Chest still heaving, the civilian looked up at him with wide eyes. “What- what- why did y-you do that?”
The man shrugged, setting the bucket down on the concrete floor. “You were out cold there for a while. I got impatient.” Shifting on his feet slightly, the man continued, “Anyways, I thought it time we get to know each other a little better, little bird. Don't you agree?”
Immediately the civilian’s muscles tensed and they pushed themself as far back against the chair as they could. “What d-do you mean?” they asked, teeth clacking together as the cold water continued to drip down them.
“I mean,” the man emphasized, stepping closer to them and crouching slightly, “that I am going to ask you some questions and you are going to answer. And,” he chuckled darkly, “if you decide to do something as incredibly stupid as lie to me or refuse to answer, well, let's just say I'll give you some extra motivation not to.”
Before they could think it through, the civilian was already shaking their head. “P-please just let me, me go. Please, I-I haven't done anything.”
Their head snapped violently to the side a moment later, cheek throbbing where the man had backhanded them. “Wrong answer, little bird,” he chastised.
The civilian let their head fall down, closing their eyes in a useless attempt to block the tears from falling.
The next thing they knew, a hand was wrapping itself in their curls, wrenching their head upward. Their neck craned backwards, leaving them with no option but to stare helplessly up at their captor.
He stared coldly down at them. “I will ask you a question. You will answer. Understood?”
Tears sliding down their temples, the civilian could only whisper a small broken “please”.
The man shrugged before slinging a cloth over the bottom half of their face. Eyes widening in understanding, the civilian futilely tried to knock the cloth from their face, wildly swinging their neck.
However, the man towering above them had too strong of a grip for them, and, before they knew it, water was pouring down on them, causing their lungs to burn and their mouth to gape widely in a helpless attempt to draw in oxygen.
While it felt like it lasted an eternity, after only a few seconds, the man lifted the cloth from their face and surprisingly gently helped them to lean forward, rubbing their back as they coughed and gasped in large gulps of air.
If the civilian didn't know better, they'd say the hand petting their hair was comforting. After what felt like too short a time, the man was sitting them up straight.
“Little bird,” the man cooed, “I'm gonna start easy. First question, tell me your name.”
The civilian had to work their jaw for a few seconds before their voice worked again. “C-Carlen,” they rasped hopelessly.
“Mm, Carlen,” the man repeated, as if savoring the sound of their name on his tongue. “Good, little bird.”
And so it went. The man would waterboard them for a few moments then ask them a question. The civilian steadily grew more distraught, tears and snot smearing on their face as their lungs burned and ached.
After an indeterminate amount of time, the man knew basically everything there was to know about the civilian.
Their full name. Their address. Their family and friends. Their job. Habits. Hobbies. Spending habits and credit scores.
Eventually, the man let their head drop forward again, the civilian groaning at the sudden lack of tension in their neck.
The man’s hand returned to stroking their hair as they shuddered and cried quietly.
“Thank you, my little bird,” the man said softly. “You were very good for me, weren't you? I think we're going to have a lot of fun together, Carlen, you and I.”

The Geometry Of Feeling
Q1: His central point is that “the effect of architecture stems from more or less shared images and basic emotions connected with building.” (p.90) To what extent do you agree with this?
I agree with this. The way our human beings know the world is majorly by view because it is easier for us to remember multi images. Hence we usually recollect memories or feelings by sliming through a lot of images in our brain. It is magically when we stand in the place we had some activities before then we would evoke many emotional memories even those we think we have forgotten for many years, and architecture is the place which we live and use all the time. Pallasmaa states that "…certain early memories retain their personal identifiability and emotional force throughout our lives provides convincing proof of the importance and authenticity of these experiences,…", that’s why the effect of architecture occur. It lies in personal past experiences and is individual.
Q2: If we agree with Pallasmaa and his attack on the architecture that privileges form and imagery... What is the importance or significance of form in architecture?
In my point of view, "Form", essentially should be the comprehensive response for every outside conditions, while if we can’t completely recognise all of these background which caused the “form” , then what we grasp or “understand” the ”form” is just a simplified “image” or “icon”. In modern architectural theory, form follows function, but actually, Form have already followed the function in ancient times, we still can see their profiles in very original tribes or traditional buildings. The difference is those “form” also took climate, geography, culture, materials and construction skills into consideration and finally combined them together.After long-time Adjusting, upgrading, reforming and standardizing, the process of construction was made and some kind of “elements”(like wall, roof, window or door) appeared to help people build a suitable building easily. That afterwards became the “form” we know today. Many people just followed the form that has existed.
The question is, is the form important in architecture or for people? Take Houses of Parliament in London for example, the exterior imitates the style of Gothic architecture but the structural system and interior function are not real “Gothic style”. Although it is not a real Gothic architecture in any aspects, but the images of the similar form gives people emotional feelings and have a sign of power. The effect of form came from our visual experience, so if we didn’t have any past experience of Gothic Cathedral, then this form in Parliament would definitely meaningless for everyone.
Here is another case, The Yellow Crane Tower in mainland China which is regarded as the symbol of Wuhan because it is very famous by a poetry. The tower was destroyed and rebuilt several times in the past, and the existing one we can visit was built in 1985. The purpose of this rebuilding-project was to restore historical site and create a space make people have sense of nostalgia, therefore the new tower was designed as the form of ancient tower. What’s interesting, the ancient Yellow Crane Tower was built by timber while the new one was built by concrete and made it looks like timber. We can see lots of fake bucket arches without real function, just like ornament. In this case, how to have a relatively fair judgement toward this phenomenon? If this rebuilt-tower didn’t express the traditional form of tower, could it arouses nostalgic consciousness by us? If the inner composition didn’t follow the original method, how do we judge this form because it lost some crucial value? All this tower has catch is the image of form. In my perspective, the image of this form in the historical site is kind of meaningful in some angle. As we can see now, from the beginning of the form created by the real need and combination of environmental condition, it has diverted into outer performance like a image. The identity of form in architecture really affect some of our feelings and play significant role in some aspect.

Excavators (hydraulic) are large construction machines with a boom, dipper or stick, bucket, and cab mounted on a rotating platform called the “house.” The house is supported by a track or wheeled undercarriage. They’re a natural progression from steam shovels, and they’re often referred to as power shovels.
Hydraulic fluid, hydraulic cylinders, and hydraulic motors are used to perform all of the movements and functions of a hydraulic excavator. Hydraulic cylinders operate in a fundamentally different way than cable-operated excavators, which employ winches and steel ropes to achieve movements.
Diggers, motorized shovels, and 360-degree excavators are all terms used to describe excavators. “360” is a commonly used abbreviation. By comparison with the backhoe, tracked excavators are also referred to as “trackhoes.”
