i’m a really bad star trek fan because i don’t think i’ve really watched any of it other than two of the rebooted movies (which i watched chiefly because they had karl urban and eric bana and sofia boutella in them, and can never watch again now that anton is gone) (also i didn’t watch the benedict cumberbatch one) and like, a few episode of TNG, and one night we were house sitting and binged like half a season of voyager that i BARELY remember. so my relationships with the actual shows is kinda like... meh...? i know OF things that some people hate. and some things that people like. but they rarely move me

on the other hand from playing star trek online you get to choose your starting race and having played all of them i will tell you this very firmly: Romulan Or Die

so like i wander past these posts that actual star trek fans are making where they’re... arguing about which characters they want to make it into the Picard movie?  and one guy is like “we need [some character from deep space nine that i think is a cardassian]” while another is like “no!!!! NO MORE fanservice characters!!!!!1!1!111! you’re ruining this FANDOM!!!!!!1!1!!”

and anyway i COULD learn enough to formulate an actual opinion about this but instead since the second person’s username extolls the virtues of vulcans i know in my romulan heart that THAT’S the guy who’s wrong and nobody will convince me otherwise
