Stick Season (Forever) - Noah Kahan

Favorite track: The View Between Villages - Extended

Obviously, I had to put this one. It feels like being alone in the woods where you used to walk with someone you were close to. Noah’s vocals are powerful and unique, and his lyricism is just stellar. Forever is the superdeluxe release of the project (LONG, LIKE 30 SONGS LONG), with all the collab versions he did, an extended song and a song not found anywhere else.

When We Were Friends - The Backseat Lovers

Favorite track: Olivia

Found this one because of the track Kilby Girl, which is an absolute BANGER. The whole project presents a wide variety of songs that are all tied together under a really great mix of fast and slow songs all full of 2000’s-esque alt vocals.

Miracle EP - Tors

Favorite track: Happy Enough

So imagine if you took Lewis Capaldi and made him do music like Marcus Mumford. Double the tempo, replace the depression for longing. That’s what Tors sounds like, and I am going crazy for them. The whole project screams ‘coming of age.’

We’re entering a very different territory here, but it’s definitely still incredible. I won’t spoil them, I want it to be a surprise for those who go and check them out because they go absolutely freaking crazy. Don’t sleep on them, for sure.

Clancy - Twenty One Pilots

Favorite track: Oldies Station

I couldn’t help but close out with this one, my favorite album of the year and the release that marked the end of an incredible, 9-year era. This album is a fantastic blend of so many of TOP’s old sounds, meshing Vessel, Blurryface, and Trench so perfectly. True to their M.O, it’s chock-full of lore but that doesn’t make it unapproachable to a new fan. The topics they cover are especially personal for someone who grew up on them, things like growing up, healing, and fearing setback in progress all hit home. Undercover Martyn, Two Door Cinema Club

A band I truly miss and only began listening to again is Two Door Cinema Club. Tourist History was definitely one of my top played albums in high school, and surprisingly it holds up today. Released in 2010, the 13 year old album definitely doesn’t hit the same way it did when I was listening to it in 2010-2013 times, but it still sends a familiar sense of warmth through my chest at points. Songs like Undercover Martyn, Do You Want It All?, and Cigarettes In The Theater all give me that familiar sense of warmth I remember from my first few listens of the album. This is definitely a huge iso vinyl wise and wish I had bought it back then. I am 90% sure I have the CD back in my childhood room but that’s for another year to deal with. This may be bold to say, but this may be a no skip album for me. Lyrics like “All because you want to be”, “Just keep talking on, tell me your favorite things.”, and “we’re gunna show the world something good can work.” All stand the test of time to me and they hold different meanings for me now.

This lava field is the largest of several large beds of lava that erupted from the 53-mile (85 km) south-east to north-west trending Great Rift volcanic zone, a line of weakness in the Earth's crust. Together with fields from other fissures they make up the Lava Beds of Idaho, which in turn are in the much larger Snake River Plain volcanic province. The Great Rift extends across almost the entire Snake River Plain.

Elevation at the visitor center is 5,910 feet (1,800 m) above sea level.

Total average precipitation in the Craters of the Moon area is between 15–20 inches (380–510 mm) per year. Most of this is lost in cracks in the basalt, only to emerge later in springs and seeps in the walls of the Snake River Canyon. Older lava fields on the plain support drought-resistant plants such as sagebrush, while younger fields, such as Craters of the Moon, only have a seasonal and very sparse cover of vegetation. When viewed from a distance, this cover disappears almost entirely, giving an impression of utter black desolation. Repeated lava flows over the last 15,000 years have raised the land surface enough to expose it to the prevailing southwesterly winds, which help to keep the area dry. Together these conditions make life on the lava field difficult.
