My April 2023 toy haul got here yesterday.  I’m so happy with my “larger” sized Bubble Head Nurse. I got the Figma version when they originally released that one, but she’s kind of tiny. I wish I would have gotten the Gecco 1:6 (2013) one too. Sadly, I didn’t know much about Gecco back then, and they were kind of pricey for the time (I would have traded a kidney for the Red Pyramid x Mannequin one, but I was hesitant with them as well, and now that statue really does go for more than a kidney! Lol!).

I once again got too many acrylic items. I wish I could stop, and I’m probably making good progress towards it (I’m seriously limiting my pre-orders of those items). However, this was so much money on just the acrylic AoT stuff, that it was painful when I had to pay for this order. S/h was also a painful experience, mostly due to the “mini” poster, which is not that big, but they packaged it as if it were a regular sized poster... but flattened (because it is plastic)! >___>;;; My wallet won’t soon be recovering! They one thousand percent could have shipped everything in a much, much smaller box. DX

Hello hellsite, happy 2023. I'm thinking about using this blog again to post art, AU, and shitposts that have been pretty much confined to discord communities in the last three years. I had a twitter in 2019 because that's where danmei fandom was at, but it's been private longer than it was public because I couldn't take constantly making fandom into a political statement (it's also easier to like JP fanart if nobody can see you ship in all directions).

Anyway my current fandoms are Touken Ranbu, The Vampire Dies in No Time, Trigun, SVSS, Iruma-kun, TBF, and Mild Noble's Vacation Suggestion. I still watch seasonal anime so there's odds and ends of those too, and I've been reading a number of WNs and webtoons slowly (ORV, LCF, My SS Hunters). Still rotten, still collecting pokemon plush, health still fucked.

Please do unfollow if you aren't a fan of the above, I know most of my old friends have left anime/manga behind or moved to US comics or band fandoms.

Animate Osaka~

It's been a while, so I can't remember every detail of my visit (about 3 months ago) I also don't have any pictures inside the store, but you can easily find other people who made complete videos/ posts about that~ (^_^)v

Animate is a must-visit for anime fans. From Animate, you can buy manga, cds, dvds, bluray, cosplay items, manga tools, and much more. If you like gacha, there are different gacha machines on every floor.

Just be careful because there is a whole floor dedicated to ecchi and stuff, and there are sections for BL, yaoi, etc which are not fit for some people to see. One of my companions got such a shock! Be extra careful if you are going with children!

The first floor of Animate is what I came for. CDs and DVDs haven!

Yay~ Trignal CDs! I couldn't find any of these CDs in other stores so I was really glad when I saw a shelf for Kiramune artists~

I wanted to buy the other albums as well, but these were the only ones I found at that time.

Copies of their live concert were available too! But only in bluray (╥﹏╥). I chose to let go of that because I couldn't afford it and...well... I didn't have a player anyway.

There were Bungou Stray Dogs merchandise~ They were popular at that time! I bought some Chuuya and Ranpo acrylic keychains for my friends~

I remember seeing merch of BNHA, Idolish7, Haikyuu!!, KnB, Touken Ranbu, and much more. There were several anime which I couldn't recognize.

Merchandise can get very pricey. (╥﹏╥)

As a foreign passport holder, you can buy tax free at Animate (total of items must be above 5,000 yen!).

Do note that payment is done on every floor. Meaning, you can't take unpaid items to a different floor. So I don't think you can get tax-free even if you have two receipts worth 2500+ yen from different floors.

You may want to pay together with friends so you can reach the minimum amount (•‿•).

If budget is a problem for you, you may want to buy items secondhand. (cheaper, at your own risk) On one of the upper floors is a secondhand section. I didn't understand at first, but the cashier showed me a sign in English that said so. The items may be secondhand, but overall, they look new/well-taken care of. Personally, I'm willing to take the risk (in Japan). Another advantage is you may find items which are no longer sold officially.

Below is a secondhand Yamatonokami Yasusada (from Touken Ranbu) plush which I bought for another friend. He looks cute...I'm tempted to keep him for myself! just kidding (≧▽≦)

Eyes

Yeah....got inspired by a touken ranbu rp that my friend and i are doing again....

They got Gokotai and I went into a BIG OL RANT ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE MY S O N.

Context: Out of all of the Awataguchi blades, Gokotai is considered a false/artificial one. He doesn’t share the same Toushirou name like the rest of the tantous do in the Awataguchi family. This is because the having a Awataguchi blade back in ye olden days was almost a symbol of good luck/wealth. So there were many counterfeits running around claiming to be the real thing. This is shown in a conversation between Gokotai and Atsushi where the former showcases some anxiety about being a false blade and not a true part of the family.

However, when Gokotai returns from Kiwame, one of his quotes mentions how the master always looks straight into his eyes, and doesn’t look away, perhaps they are not ashamed of him? So I thought a lot about this and maDE A FIC. @lunalove25​

Eyes are the window to the soul.

They tell everything about a person, what they are thinking, what they plan to do.

To Gokotai, it’s shame and utter failure.

He’s not real. He’s not a true Awataguchi blade. He’s a fake compared to his brothers, who stand proud and loud and tall in their own ways. What is he?

…Actually, maybe he shouldn’t find the answer to that.

“Master…”

You let out a small hum when you look up from the book, blinking your eyes down at the little tantou who sits at your chair, his small frame sinking into the plush material of velvet. “What’s wrong?” “W-W-W….” his words die in his throat, tiny little hands playing with the fur of the sole tiger at his feet, large and proud and powerful – everything that he is not.

He inhales deeply, hands shaking and staring into the eyes of yours. “What do you see when you look at me?”

You still, the book set back down on the coffee table, a hand to your chin.

Gokotai has been with you since the beginning, by your side since you first became a saniwa. He has always protected you, held your heart as a son would a parent.

But now? After his journey?

His eyes were different.

Amber pools that shake – not with fear, maybe a little – but with determination. He has grown since his Kiwame journey, and you can see that. He holds his little dagger with pride, to his chest and slashes at the entities without hesitation, he protects you.

Because he is meant to protect.

“I see you, Gokotai.”

The little one doesn’t speak, cocking his head to the side. “W-What do you mean?” “You’re you.” You answer him again, sliding off of the couch to stand in front of him, taking his tiny hands into yours. “You’re a little tantou, precious and special. I don’t care that you only defeated Kenshin only thrice…” your voice trails off, a hand reaching out to ruffle his snow white hair. “You’re you, and I’m proud to have you by my side.” His eyes begin to well up with tears, sniffles and snuffles leaving his little nose. “M-Master….” Soft little sobs begin to drip from his hues, tears spilling over. Gently do you wrap your arms around his form, your lips pressing to his forehead.

All you see is Gokotai, the little tantou who has been by your side since the start, who held your hand when you cried, who held your close during nightmares, who always came back with a gentle smile and made you flower crowns to cheer you up.

Gokotai is your little blade.

All you see is him.
