Request: Please may I have a Tokyo ghoul request headcanons Ayato Kirishima with a wolf female S/O..basically to help you with it better..she is the last of her Japanese wolf kind which is rumoured to have gone extinct years ago (no thanks to the CCG investigaters) and even though she is human..she has the ability to change into her wolf form, even partially with the ears and tail because that was her ability..it was difficult for her sometimes because having the ability of shape-shifting into her wolf form meant like for example, whenever she's sick..she couldn't take any ordinary medication like the other humans because it could potentially be toxic for her and she had to be careful while in wolf form too..because sadly there are potential causes of actually being killed accidentally by a hunter. S/O is more than capable of fighting for herself..she isn't a damsel in distress..and that would explain why she is a skilled fighter in her own right..

S/O accepted Ayato for who he is considering her own secrets too..and he wasn't the only one who felt differently..

Touka's relationship with Ayato's girlfriend too..

🐇 Ayato met you because he was sent to grab you, Aogiri Tree wanted you, you were a rare breed and they loved their collectables. 🐇 Eto figured that she had a common enemy, she’d offer you safety if you offered her your strength, she knew that you’d be one of the pieces that would help her win the war she had started. 🐇 Ayato honestly hated you at first but let's be honest he doesn’t like anyone on first impression. 🐇 The more he’s forced to work with you, the more he learns to tolerate you, tolerating you turns to liking you when you become the only person who seems to understand survival. 🐇 He never really asked about your wolf form until the first time that he saw a part transformation, when you explained that it was all to do with the fact that you were sick he rolled his eyes and told you to suck it up and take some medicine. When you told him that you can’t because some of it was poisonous. 🐇 He feels bad after that and actually helps you get better, takes you somewhere quiet, might even be his room considering no one dares to bother him when he’s in there. 🐇 Once you're better there’s a new unspoken bond between you both, not that either of you commented on it.

You had been sent out on yet another mission with Ayato, the CCG had caught onto you very quickly and now you stood face to face with a kid who seemed a little too enthusiastic about killing you. “Woah you have a tail and ears like a wolf!” The kid said. “Yeah and you look like a terrible patch work project, your point?” You asked as you got down into a defensive position, even with your reflexes you could only block the scythe that was aimed for your neck, the blade lipped over your forearm where he dragged it back to cut deep into your arm and lose your balance, you fell forward rolling to the side when he struck again. You were up a second later, you kicked the kid away from you, the growl that ripped from you would have scared a normal person but it only made the kid more excited. “You're so cool!” He cheered as he dove forward again this time, he swung at the same time that he threw a dagger drawing you into the place that he wanted you cutting straight down from your left shoulder to your right hip, luckily the wound wasn’t as deep as it could have been but it still hurt. “I have to take you back with me!” “I’m not a pet.” You growled out through gritted teeth, your teeth elongating and nails sharpened into claws, you dove forward dodging his scythe and daggers knocking him back and scratching straight down his arm in the process, he screamed and as if calling in protection an Quinque came down out of nowhere you just managed to clear it “Juuzou I told you to be careful.” “I was, she just caught me by surprise.” He pouted, both of them drawn to you when a feral noise somewhere between a growl and a grunt slipped from your mouth. “Come on, it's time to go.” The new arrival ordered as Ayato landed next to you, surveying your injuries, though he didn’t show it, he was impressed that you were still standing but he’d tell you that later for now he stood at his full height Ukaku spread wide behind him, he knew that you’d cover any attacks that came lower than his range, with how low you were to the ground, eyes trained on the investigators in front of you, when they fell back he could see that you were ready to chase them so he moved in front of you. “We need to get back, we got what we came for.” He said, he watched as it seemed that his voice snapped you out of whatever state you were in. “Right, let's go.” You mumbled as you stood he could see that your wounds were healing, he unzipped and shrugged off the leather jacket that he was wearing, putting it over your shoulder. “Make sure those assholes back at the base can’t see anythin’ you don’t want them to.” He mumbled before you both headed back.

🐇 Ayato notices your quiet nature when something is bothering you. He doesn't ever bother you about it though because he knows what he’s like when something bothers him. 🐇 Your wolf senses can make you sensitive to sounds and smells, Ayato is careful of that but sometimes he yells, he apologises offhandedly afterwards though. 🐇 When you guys actually get together it’s more of a promise than asking you to be his girlfriend, you tell him what happened to others of your kind and promise you that he’d never let anything happen to you as long as you stick with him. 🐇 Once you're his though he’s protective as hell, doesn’t matter that he knows that you can look after yourself, doesn’t matter if the enemy is one you’ve beaten 100 times He’ll keep his promise and protect you from everything. 🐇 He isn’t big on PDA but that doesn’t mean that he won’t sit there with his arm around your shoulder or your knees touching to remind you that he’s there if you need him.

You had been sitting with Ayato, you were talking about nothing in particular when Yakumo Oomori took a seat next to you, you didn’t actually look at him but you did stiffen slightly, they both felt it and you were sure that Oomori took pride in it while Ayato wrapped his arm around you a little tighter putting his hand between you and the notorious killer. “Well aren’t you two cute?” He sneered as Ayato glared at him. “What do you want, Oomori?” Ayato asked, he looked relaxed as they came but the snappy way that he spoke gave him away. “We’ve got a mission, to retrieve the one eyed ghoul.” He answered. “She doesn’t want you to bring your little pet, it's just the two of us.” “Fine.” Ayato waved him off “and don’t call her that, she’s not a pet, her name is (Y/N) use it.” “You should be careful people might catch on to the fact that you're a real softy.” Oomori smirked as he stood up walking away, you somehow found him even more unnerving with the mask off but your attention was drawn from the retreating figure back to a more calming presence. “Don’t worry about him.” Ayato said “I won’t let him do anything and if he does, I’ll put him down for it.” “I don’t think that Eto would like that very much.” You mumbled and he scoffed. “I don’t care what they would like, I care about you.” He said, pressing an uncharacteristically soft kiss to your forehead. “I’m sorry I froze.” You finally said. “Don’t worry.” He said again, he’d always be there.

🐇 Now when you finally got to meet Touka, it was when Ayato finally decided to change sides after Kaneki left, he obviously asked you to come with him and honestly there was nothing that you couldn’t do together, you were a dangerous team. 🐇 Touka could see how happy you made Ayato, now that he felt safe to do so PDA was more frequent though he still didn’t do it all the time. 🐇 Touka took some time to trust you still, it’ll probably take seeing you take a hit for Ayato or sticking up for him that will assure her that you are trustworthy. 🐇 Once she does trust you, you are the best of friends, you do all the things that normal friends do within your limitations, you still have to be careful given your own physical drawbacks. 🐇 Control came easier in a safe environment so Touka hardly saw you in partial or full wolf form but if you ever ended up having kids with Ayato then seeing your kids in wolf forms is common for her. 🐇 Seeing your wolf form for the first time did scare her but Ayato was the one to assure her that there was nothing to worry about. 🐇 Sticks up for you where people bully or become aggressive against you, fear or not it’s not acceptable to her (or Ayato for that matter), she’s more likely to talk to someone about it though, her brother will just straight up punch them.

It had been years since everything had settled and the fighting had ended, it seemed like everyone was finally happy, you were out with Touka but there were still situations that caused an uncomfortable stress response, your ears and tail popping out and causing people to stare which only seemed to make it worse. Touka noticed but not before a group of men came over one of them grabbing your tail and tugging on it. “Wow they were right when they said that your kind can grow tails and ears.” He smirked “can you feel it?” “Stop.” You ordered, Touka could see that if this continued there would be a few very injured men. “I’d listen to her.” Touka said as she crossed her arms. “If you want to keep that hand.” “You think that you two can take all of us?” He asked “even if she is from some special shapeshifter family, there’s still too many of us.” “I’m warning you, it’s not just her you have to worry about.” Touka smirked as she stepped forward. “Oh really?” He asked. “Touka don’t you have kids to go home too, let me punch him in the face.” You said as you stepped forward. “You think you can?” He teased, you smiled before pulling back and strike in less than a second, the man touched his nose noting the blood on his hand “you are going to regret that.” “She really won’t.” The voice behind you made your heart sing as he came to stand behind you, his scent relaxing you “leave before I change my mind about stopping her.” The man grit his teeth as he turned and left, Ayato turned you to face him, mumbling words of reassurance and asking what had caused you to panic in the first place while Touka watched with a small smile, she was so happy that he found you because he looked happier with you than she had seen him in a long time almost as happier than when they were kids before everything had ruined them and she only hoped that lasted forever for the both of you.

Escape - Touka Kirishima x fem Kaneki reader

summary: Being the twin of a half-ghoul and in love with an actual ghoul isn't exactly the safest way to live for a mere human. Will you decide to escape when you're confronted with that reality?

warnings: throwing up, kinda torture, pretty angsty, it's Tokyo Ghoul (come on)

As my last university lecture had been canceled, I decided to visit my brother and get myself a delicious coffee at the Antique. But when I walked through the park my plans suddenly changed.

Touka was sitting on a blanket across from a girl I did not know. I was irritated to see them having a picnic.

My (e/c) eyes met Touka's violet ones and the world seemed to fade away for a moment.

Our staring stopped when the other girl started talking to her.

I brushed it off and continued my way but was taken off guard by the other girl's loud voice: “Hey, (f/n)! Why don't you join us?”

Surprised and completely overwhelmed I moved over to them. Considering that this girl was yelling through the park she would not let me go away easily anyway.

Hesitantly I looked down at the duo, not sure if it was actually fine to sit down and join them.

Touka apparently noticed my insecurity and inched a bit to the side to give me more space.

“Hi! I'm Yoriko Kosaka, Touka's best friend”, she introduced herself energetically.

“I'm (f/n) Kaneki”, I said smiling softly at her.

Honestly I did not know why I had ended up in such a situation. Touka and I had never even done anything together outside of Antique, although we did come along well.

“You don't have to join us if you don't want to”, Touka clarified.

Yoriko hit Touka's arm in a scolding manner whispering: “You can't say something like this. You'll make her feel unwelcome.”

I could not help but laugh. It was odd to see Touka being treated so casually.

Yoriko was visibly relieved about my reaction. She spread several delicious looking dishes in front of us. “Feel free to eat anything you like. I made more than enough anyway”, Yoriko offered.

“Thanks. That's really kind”, I replied trying some of the food that tasted even better than it looked.

But I was worried about Touka. What was she supposed to do with all the food placed in front of her?

“So how did you two get to know each other?”, Yoriko wondered.

“Oh, nothing spectacular. My brother works at the same coffee shop as Touka”, I explained.

“You have a brother?! I always wanted to have siblings! Is there a huge age gap between the both of you?”, she questioned.

“Yoriko, you should calm down”, Touka scolded her.

“Ken is two minutes older than me. But most people guess that I'm the older twin”, I proclaimed.

That made Yoriko talk non-stop.

After a while Touka excused herself to search for a restroom.

I secretly watched her before vanishing there myself. Luckily no one else was here.

“Touka, you have to let it out”, I reminded her.

“That's none of your business”, she snapped at me, though her voice sounded pained.

“You're only going to hurt yourself”, I declared.

“I don't care. Yoriko made this food for me. I won't throw it up”, she resisted.

“Just because your body can't handle the food, doesn't mean you don't appreciate it. Yoriko wanted to make you happy, right? If you sit here suffering because of her food, that's the exact opposite of Yoriko's wishes.”

As Touka stayed silent I continued: “It's not your fault, Touka. Throwing the food up, won't turn you into a bad friend or a monster. You shouldn't punish yourself because your body doesn't work the way you want it to. If you could tell her Yoriko would understand. It would hurt her to see you suffer like that.”

Fortunately my words had the right effect and made her through up.

When she unlocked the door and left the stall, she pulled out a toothbrush and paste and began brushing her teeth.

After finishing, Touka eyed me in a strange way before returning to Yoriko.

“You two really have to like hanging around each other considering how long you made me wait”, Yoriko considered.

“Sorry”, I apologized sheepishly.

“Don't worry about it. I'm glad that Touka has at least one more friend. Her social skills aren't the best after all”, Yoriko chuckled.

“And I'm the mean one”, Touka stated sarcastically making us laugh.

When the sun started setting we decided to go home, although Touka and I went to Antique.

On the way Touka suddenly pushed me into an abandoned alleyway.

“You should stop that”, she advised me.

“Stop what?”, I replied confused.

“Hanging out at the Antique, being around ghouls all the time”, she enlightened me.

“You want me to stay away from Ken, you and the others?”, I questioned irritated.

“Exactly. You've no clue what you're getting yourself into. A few hours ago you told me that throwing up Yoriko's food wouldn't turn me into a monster. But you forgot one important fact. I already am a monster”, she claimed.

My head shook automatically. “No, you're not. Not all ghouls are monsters.”

Touka pinned me against the wall of a building and activated her kakugan.

My breathing quickened on its own as our faces were barely inches apart.

Touka did not know that I had a crush on her. Instead my reaction only confirmed her suggestion that I was too naive and actually just realized that I was afraid of her.

Her kagune painted everything behind her red as I could see nothing in the background but her red wing(s).

“You want to scare me off? Then what about Yoriko?”, I asked her, desperately trying to calm down.

“That's a different story. She doesn't know anything about my true identity and I'm the only ghoul she actively interacts with”, Touka proclaimed.

“What do you expect me to do? It's not like I could just disappear. Ken is my twin and he has already become famous throughout the ghouls and the CCG. I can't escape anyway”, I resonated.

Touka was obviously upset.

“If you want me to leave you alone I'll do it. But why did you let me join your picnic then?”, I wondered.

“Yoriko just asked me if I knew you and then invited you. It's not like it's been my decision”, she mumbled.

“You could have lied or told me to leave. Usually you're reckless in relation to other people's emotions”, I recalled.

Touka glared at me. Was that her last resort?

“I never asked you or your brother to enter my life, okay? You pretend to know my situation and feelings, but you know nothing! I'll never get the chance to live the life of a human”, she exclaimed.

“What do you think is so great about being a human? You consider yourself a monster. But there simply is no species that is more of a monster than humans”, I shot back.

She froze. Her face obviously revealed her shock.

“Maybe I don't know what it's like to be a ghoul. And you're right that I practically know nothing about you, but it's the same for you. You always dream of being a human without really knowing how it is.” The volume of my voice decreased during my accusation.

I gently pushed Touka away and walked without thinking about directions. I was not in the mood to go to the Antique anymore.

By now darkness had settled over the city. In the distance I could see the street lights illuminating the crowd on the main street.

Suddenly I felt my back forcefully hitting a wall.

“You smell strange”, a low voice stated.

My body hurt from the impact of the kick my stomach had taken, but I did not need to be a genius to know that a ghoul was standing in front of me.

“Who are you? What are you?”, the ghoul asked me.

I had never seen him before. At least he did not seem to be one of the mindless predators. Otherwise I would have been long dead.

I forced myself back to my feet.

Hoping that Touka would search for me was the only option I had right now. So I had to get more time.

A loud cracking sound and an awful pain ripped me out of my thoughts as a scream left my lips. Unfortunately the scream was swallowed by the many cornered streets surrounding me. There was no chance to tell from which direction it had come.

“If I ask you a question, you answer. Got that?”, the ghoul growled letting go of my now broken left arm.

I nodded while suppressing my tears.

The ghoul buried his face in my hair and inhaled my scent deeply.

Everything inside of me screamed to flee. But that was impossible.

“So?”, the ghoul drew my attention back to him.

“I'm a mere human”, I answered slightly out of breath from the incredible pain.

“That would have been my guess too, considering how delicate you are. But something about you is different. Tell me”, he demanded leaving my hair alone.

“Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about”, I lied.

Although I was scared, I had to protect the people of the Antique.

The ghoul became furious burying his nails in my right arm and left hip making me wince.

“Don't lie to me! How did you survive an encounter with a ghoul just shortly before I met you?”, he spit out shaking me brutally.

“What? She's a ghoul?!”, I faked dismay.

I hated the way my voice was shaking and yet I could not help it.

Suddenly the ghoul broke down pulling me with him as his claws were still resting inside of me.

“Idiot”, Touka murmured as she cut off the fingers of the ghoul instead of pulling his claws out of me to prevent me from bleeding out.

Her frame appeared to be blurry.

“Don't dare to pass out!”, she threatened me and pulled me into her arms.

I listened to her heartbeat as she carried me toward Antique.

“It's so great to be a human”, I groaned sarcastically coughing up a bit of blood.

“That's why I told you to get away”, Touka shot back.

“As if that … would solve … the problem”, I responded. “Isn't it hard for you … to carry my bleeding form? I have to smell like a feast … to you”, I assumed.

“Stop this nonsense!”, she shouted angrily.

I smiled tiredly at her. “But I knew that you would come for my rescue … You're the safest place for me.”

Her grip around me tightened slightly.

I felt myself getting weaker leading my hands to hold onto Touka's shirt.

“I don't want to die”, I whispered, silent tears flowing down my cheeks.

“And you won't. Just stay conscious”, Touka encouraged me.

Her pace had already developed into running.

“Touka?”

“Hm?”

“Can you stand still for a moment, please?”

“I thought you didn't want to die?”

“Please”, I begged her.

She slowed down before coming to a complete hold, careful not to shake me too much.

I forced myself up a bit to be on eye level with her.

Concern was evident in her eyes, which was rare for her to show.

I gathered all my courage and strength and kissed her. It was short. But for this moment I felt full of life again.

Touka looked at me surprised when I pulled back.

“You should start running again”, I considered.

Touka was fast. That was something I had gotten to know very early. But I had never seen her run this fast before.

When we arrived at the Antique it had already closed. So there were no customers to horrify with my awful state.

The shocked gasps and Ken's worried voice were the last things I heard before finally passing out.

When I came back to my senses, pain was the first thing I felt.

Thankfully the curtains of the room I was in had been closed.

“(f/n)”, Ken's soft concerned voice reached my ears.

He was sitting next to me eyeing me carefully.

I groaned in pain as I tried to sit up.

Ken immediately stopped me, telling me to rest.

“How much time has passed?”, I wondered my throat feeling uncomfortably sore.

Ken helped me drink some water before answering: “Two days.”

“Touka ...”

“Is at school”, he answered my unspoken question.

“Actually skipped school”, Touka corrected him as she entered the room.

“Ken. Could you leave us alone for a moment, please?”, I requested.

He nodded. “Of course.”

None of us knew how to start after Ken had left the room. So for a while we simply looked at each other in silence.

“Touka, I'm sorry. Kissing you in such a moment after already being rejected … I didn't really give you a chance to turn me down. It's been selfish and unfair”, I recognized.

All of a sudden Touka kissed me passionately. It was way more intense than our first one and filled with countless emotions.

“You really got yourself into this now. Too late to escape”, Touka warned me. “I'm not going to let you walk around on your own again. You know that, right?”

“I think I can handle that”, I stated smiling.

From that day on Touka and I spent every free minute together. The thought of escaping never crossed my mind for a second as I had never been so happy in my entire life.

Rules and Guidelines

So nobody’s really seen this tumblr page yet, but I figured it might be best to establish a “rule set” sooner rather than later, so here we go-

- While my blog is not an 18+ only page (and likely never will be), keep in mind I will talk/write about 18+ subjects such as smut, especially when it comes to writing fics. If you’re uncomfortable with mature topics, there’s plenty of tumblr blogs out there that won’t include them. I will put trigger warnings on my posts but if I forget to list any, don’t hesitate to let me know!

- I don’t accept direct requests for writing fics. I’ll accept “imagines” (thirsts, if you will) and may take inspiration from them, but I won’t be asked to write a specific piece and then give a date/deadline for when I’d write it. Feel free to send any thoughts or, like I said, “imagines” on any characters or AUs, I do appreciate it.

- On this topic, I figured I’d get some of my trigger warnings out of the way. I won’t write or read anything involving rape, pedophilia, anal, or bestiality. These topics are way out of my comfort zone and I have no interest in them.

- I write character x fem!reader and nothing else I’m not comfortable writing a male character or gender-neutral character (which is ironic as hell considering I’m non-binary but whatever) and I don’t like writing for OCs or character x character. However, I’ll write a fem!character x reader, gn!character x reader, gender-swap and trans!character x reader. Really any character or AU I’m fine with, I just can’t write a reader who physically isn’t female, sorry-

Although I’m writing this guideline post before actually posting any of my work, I intend to have this blog be a place where I can share my fanfic writing with other people. Hideyoshi Nagachika X Fem!Reader

Request: Please may I have a Tokyo ghoul headcanon of Hideyoshi Nagachika with a female reader who is a ghoul and certainly not human but she is a calm and a nice ghoul..she is the oldest sister of the Kirishima siblings (Touka and Ayato Kirishima)..and she attended her classes in college and took notes. She didn't take human lives..she only ate the human flesh of those who had passed away or had committed suicide or don't deserve to live *e.g. murderers..as mild as she may seem..she is a highly dangerous ghoul in the eyes of the doves and she is a skillful fighter. Overall though she is humane, noble, brave, heroic, protective, sweet, serious, caring, kind.

She was understandingly wary when she first met him..she heard of too many stories of humans selling out her kind to the Doves and she had one boyfriend before and look how that turned out! She did end up having to protect him from less than friendly ghouls.

Warnings: Talk of eating people, injuries, kidnapping, death

You had never been more relieved when Yoshimaru offered you a job and a place for Touka after she finished school. After losing Ayato to his anger at humans, you wanted to do everything to keep her safe, hoping to find a way to get him back to your family. You understood why he felt that way, you were distrusting and wary of humans yourself, you had seen many give over ghouls they claimed to have loved or held dear to them. You’d had a boyfriend yourself, one that you had ended up saving from a bad situation with some ghouls and you never saw him again, if fact that was the day that the CCG dusted off your case reports and tracked your current location.

You remember the first time that he spoke to you, he came in with Kaneki encouraging him to talk to a ghoul that frequented the Anteiku cafe. You had been at the counter when Touka took over they’re drinks, you had taken coffee over to Rize, another regular but to be honest you should have recognised the look of a ghoul that was hunting but you didn’t. You watched as Kaneki walked over to her and struck up conversation, you didn’t even hear Hideyoshi approach you so it did make you jump a little when he spoke to you.

“You're here every time that we come in but I don’t think I’ve ever seen you at school with us.” Hideyoshi said. “That’s because I don’t go to school with you.” You said “do you want to pay or something?” “I mean I can but I actually just wanted to talk to you.” Hideyoshi shrugged as he leaned on the counter. “I’m sure you did.” You ran up the total for his drinks and gave him his total. “She’s your sister right?” Hideyoshi asked as he looked over at Touka, he saw confusion on your face and he smiled. “You look like her.” “Oh.” You nodded as you looked at Touka “she is my sister.” “I’m sorry that you both have to work here.” He said softly as you looked at him and frowned. “What?” You asked. “Well people our age don’t choose to work but it’s not uncommon, people her age don’t work unless they have to, so I’m sorry that you both have to,” Hideyoshi explained, it was then that you realised that he might be a lot smarter than anyone gave him credit for, he was goofy and bright but that hid the smarts that were underneath. “Nothing anyone can do to change it now, not when we were born to suffer his way.” You shrugged and he frowned as he looked at you. He didn’t say anything but you could hear the gears turning in his head before he settled for one sentence. “Hopefully that changes for you. My name's Hideyoshi by the way.”

The next time that you saw him, he didn’t see you, it was just before Kaneki had started working at Anteiku, you and Touka had been hunting when you found them, hunting was a broad term you didn’t hurt anyone living unless they were known murders, serial killers or worse, otherwise you would feed on already dead bodies. You remember seeing Kaneki struggling with the urge to kill his best friend, you had some human meat with you at the time so you threw it over and that distracted him long enough for you to get behind him and knock him out. You and Touka carried them back to the cafe after that. “What happened?” Yoshimaru asked. “Another ghoul had a run in with them, looks like he was trying to kill Hideyoshi but Kaneki stopped him.” You explained as you handed over Kaneki, who Yomo took up to a room to wait until he woke up again, while you followed Touka who was still carrying Hideyoshi “he lost control and almost ate his friend though, gave him some human flesh to calm him down and then knocked him out.” “What about the other ghoul?” Yoshimaru asked. “Injured but not dead, he’ll be fine after he eats.” You answered “he was too injured to follow us but even if he did, he would be easy enough to neutralise.” “You have done well, I will talk to Kaneki when he wakes about working here, for now clean up Hideyoshi and bandage him up, we’ll tell him he they were all in a crash, nothing fatal and he was the one that got off worse.” Yoshimaru ordered and you nodded. You easily cleaned Hideyoshi up and bandaged all of the wounds that he had, most of them were around his face and head. He didn’t wake in the time that you spent watching over him in fact you didn’t see before he left either.

Kaneki was working with you and Touka at Anteiku when Hideyoshi came in again. “Good you're here, I wanted to thank you for looking after me after the car accident.” Hideyoshi smiled as he walked over to you. “No need to thank me.” You answered softly as you looked at him, subtly checking over the wounds that you could see, they all seemed to be healing well. “Nishiki wasn’t here with us?” He asked. “No, he was awake when we got there, he wanted to go to the hospital, so we brought you both back here.” You explained. “Well thanks for helping me and Kaneki.” He shrugged “do I get to learn your name now?” “My name?” You asked. “Yeah, is that a problem?” He asked. “No… No, um, I-, My name is (Y/N).” You answered. “Nice to finally meet you.” Hideyoshi smiled. You wanted to let your guard down, he seemed so kind and gentle but he didn’t know what you were. The moment that he found out that you were a ghoul that would change, you were sure that it would.

Over the next couple of months Hide visited the cafe sometimes to see Kaneki but a lot of the time to come and see you. As Touka and Kaneki started to get closer you spent more time with Hide, you ended up learning more about him than you thought and sharing more than you wanted about your father disappearing and your brother following suit. Everything shifted after Kaneki was kidnapped, Touka started to retreat back into herself again and nothing you could do would help her. You refused to let yourself feel sad or lonely because it felt selfish. You weren’t as close to Kaneki as Touka or some of the others were, so you needed to keep everything running for when Kaneki decided to come back. Even still Hide would come by, most of the time to see if Kaneki would show up.

“How have you been?” You asked, he looked at you. “I’ve been thinking…” He said and you nodded fear gripping you as you waited for what he was going to say next. “I think I’m going to start working part time at the CCG.” “What!? Why?” You asked. “I just- it’s the only way that I can look for Kaneki, maybe if they find something then I’ll at least know.” He explained. After everything he told you, you knew why he was worried. With no family Kaneki was unlikely to have anyone looking for him outside of Anteiku and Hide. Not to mention none of you would be told if they ever did find anything because you weren’t next of kin. “Are you… Are you sure?” You asked. “Why are you so worried?” Hide asked. “I’m-” worried that you’ll find out about me and never want to talk to me again. “Worried that you’ll get hurt.” “No need to worry about that, I'm just going to work in the office part time.” He waved off your concern “I promise that nothing will happen to me.”

That was the last time that you spoke to him in person before the raid, you were fighting for your life when you caught sight of him in the multitude of humans running around, you were successfully knocking out the one that came at you. By the time that Hide found you, you were doubled over with your hand pressed to your stomach “(Y/N)!?” Hide rushed over, pressing his hand to your stomach. “You said nothing would happen to you… You could get hurt here.” You tried to joke but it just sounded like you were scolding him. “Come on.” He hoisted your arm over his shoulder as he looked around, everyone seemed to be knocked out or fighting so he moved you out of sight before crouching “I wish I could do more but I… Kaneki is here. I have to find him, I will come back to help you after.” “Alright.” You nodded, but he never came back, in fact that was the last conversation that you had before he died. Touka found you after the fighting settled and helped you back to the others.

Now he was standing in front of you again with a cover over the bottom half of his face, he went off with Kaneki first of course, you didn’t actually bother to approach him, sure that he wouldn’t want to talk to you especially not after it was finally confirmed that you were a ghoul.

You were up on the roof, it had been a while since you could just enjoy the sun “it’s really been that long?” The voice startled you, it’s slightly tinny undertone giving a clear indication as to who it was. “It’s been that long since I’ve been able to enjoy it.” You nodded leaning against the railing. “I never came back for you that night.” He said. “You were indisposed.” You reminded him. “I still worried, you weren’t someone who spent too much time in the CCG radio waves so I didn’t know if you were even alive after the raid.” He explained. “And then I got a look at my face and figured it would be better if I just left you alone.” “Your face?” You asked. “I…” He stopped as he looked down “I never regretted saving Kaneki the way that I did.” “That doesn’t mean that you can’t mourn what you l have lost.” You answered shifting your weight from one foot to the other. “So how come you never did?” He asked. “I…” You wanted to have some profound reason, but in all honesty you had lost so much that you were afraid, you started making excuses since your father disappeared and now it just felt like most of the problems had resolved themselves and there was no reason to mourn them anymore. “I’m glad that you are alive.” Hide finally said. “You are?” You asked. “Why wouldn’t I be?” He asked. “I spent so much time lying to you.” You finally looked over at him and the moment that you did you could see that he wasn’t angry at you, his eyes hadn’t changed he still looked at you the same way. “You never lied to me.” He said. “You never said that you weren’t a ghoul and I saw everything that CCG had on you, you never hurt anyone that didn’t deserve it.” “You give me too much credit.” You said softly, he moved forward for a second but then stopped. “What?” “I wanted to do something that I can’t.” He answered. “What?” You asked. “Kiss you.” He answered, you assumed that this had something to do with the injury that he was hiding under the mask, so instead you leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. As you stepped back you took his hands in yours wrapping them around your waist. “There are other ways to show that you care.” You said softly. “I’m not sure that you would feel the same after see what’s under here.” Hide muttered and you shook your head. “I would have said the same thing about you finding out I’m a ghoul.” You said softly as you pressed your forehead to his chest. “Humans can surprise you.” He tightened his hold on you. “Ghouls can too.” You promised “and I’ll be waiting to show you as long as you need.”
