you know what else…. something abt single dad!rin and his lil six year old son. you’re his schoolteacher, practically a real life miss honey, and his son just absolutely adores you — hangs onto the skirt of your dresses, forces you to watch him kick around a soccer ball during recess, even accidentally called you mommy during class. during a parent-teacher conference, you mention the last point to rin in private, who apologizes and explains how the mom isn’t really a part of his life & he might be projecting on you. (even though his son has world class nannies watching over him, his son hasn’t ever viewed them as mother figures). rin’s a bit stressed out himself, too. not only is his divorce finally finalized and incredibly messy, but as if in an attempt to get the last laugh, his ex is coming back not even two months later, challenging him for custody. with his busy schedule, no immediate family, and the media painting him out to be a cold, ruthless player on the field, things aren’t looking so great for rin, even if his son’s mother wants absolutely nothing to do with their child.

but his son adores you. you’re sweet and kind and lovely. and surely the money you make as a teacher can’t be that much… he did have to give you a ride back home after learning that your car has been in the shop for a week now & he didn’t like the idea of you walking to the train alone.
