I love those Au ideas you just posted! Although I'm sad to see that Breezekit dies in the Divided au. I would have loved to see him with a brother bond to Jaykit or Hollykit. I always wonder how different their relationships would have been if he had been raised alongside them.

yeah! it's definitely an interesting idea, it just didn't work out for this particular au.

because it's pretty high on my list of aus to work on, i don't want to give up all of the details, but basically, in order for jay, night, and crow's arc to work, i couldn't keep breezekit alive.

that said, i have a lot of po3 aus, and it won't be long until i find one where we explore that dynamic. maybe even in the windclan po3 au? like i said, i don't know what happens to breeze&night in that au.

You mentioned that you have a lot of PO3 au ideas. Windclan po3 and Divided po3 especially caught my eye. Are they about Lion/Jay/Holly being given to Windclan / one or two of them being Windclan? Im really interested in hearing more about these Aus!

oh man i love a good excuse to talk about my aus!

okay, these are a long way off so i don't mind spoiling them a little, but i'll just give brief summaries here and put a deeper discussion under the cut, in case anyone wants to skip out on them.

okay, windclan po3: i actually think i have, like, two or three different variants on this, but the one i was thinking about is pretty simple. holly, jay, and lion get raised in windclan.

as for divided po3: this is what i'm probably going to work on after ashes! but basically, the three are split up between three different clans.

okay, details under the cut.

windclan po3: either "the dust falls and you're left standing" or "parapraxia," i haven't decided. parapraxia may be the series title, depending on how the au shakes out.

this one is very underdeveloped at the moment. the au development cycle around here goes:

idea → a few paragraphs of explanation, scenes, etc → title → a quick outline → some more scene sketches → a full outline → drafting

usually, i cull bad ideas around the quick outlining phase, which i haven't gotten to with this yet, so like, there's a good chance i change a lot of what i'm about to say, but the basic idea is that leafpool leaves thunderclan when she gets pregnant, and becomes a windclan warrior.

the nice thing about this is that windclan is a good clan for the kits to be raised in, because they have a weak understanding of legacies. very little sins of the father/mother stuff going on.

the annoying thing is, depending how i work it out, there are a lot of plot holes to patch. anyway, this will be a warrior jay au, and possible medicine cat holly au. unsure. don't know what happens to breezepelt and/or nightcloud.

divided po3: "the only thing as holy as my love must be you"

i actually teased this a while ago, because i thought i was going to work on it this may, but it was on a different computer, so i worked on stolag instead. it's competing with (a) loner po3, so i'm not sure it'll be next, but it's pretty high on my list.

anyway, the premise here is that the three are split up. they're also not littermates, but they're split up anyway.

so leafpool gives birth to two kits and dies. crowfeather is with her. one of their kits is stillborn, but the other lives. (crowfeather blames starclan.) nightcloud gives birth to three kits, but she "knows" her "mate" (crowfeather) is rejecting her, and he won't want to raise their kits, so she abandons them under a holly bush.

riverclan finds them, and at this point, only one is still alive. they name her hollykit, and dawnflower raises her with minnowkit. the whole clan dotes on her because that's what riverclan does with orphans.

nightcloud tells crowfeather all her kits were still-born, but she agrees to raise jaykit. she knows jaykit isn't a loner kit, but she doesn't really talk to crowfeather about it, because now jaykit is their kit and everything is fine. (nightcloud is struggling mentally a lot here. i have plans for her actions, but it's mental illness that's warping a lot of her thinking.)

squilf is Tiny and she gives birth to five kits, but it's leaf-bare and she's not producing nearly enough milk, and thunderclan doesn't have a proper medicine cat, so all but one (lionkit) dies.

i drafted the outline for this before i read prayers to medea, but i'm 100% backfilling this idea for his name:

Despite all the clans having traditions as varied as the scales on a fish, there seems to be one they agree to: When a kit is breathing like its lungs might collapse at any time, when it alone amongst its littermates lives, they give it a name from the old legendary clans. Tiger, Lion, Leopard. So that they may inherit that strength and rise above the grief that infects their very bones.

anyway, here's my more cinematic au summary:

leafpool. squirrelflight. nightcloud.

three queens give birth on one night in leafbare.

leafpool gives birth tucked into a tree, her mate curled next to her. squirrelflight gives birth in thunderclan’s nursery, mourning the loss of her sister. nightcloud gives birth on the moor, driven in search of a mate she never truly had.

ten kits are born, but only three survive.

leafpool’s mate will bury her, pray she goes to starclan, and take their kit back to camp, preparing to watch his son grow only from a distance. he will find a windclan queen, mourning the loss of her just-born kits, and she will agree to raise him.

squirrelflight’s milk will never come in properly. only lionkit will last through the first moon. she will love him as fiercely as she can, and pray he is not taken from her as well.

nightcloud will reject her only surviving daughter, leave her in the cold. a riverclan patrol will find her, assuming her mother to be a rogue, and she is adopted into the clan.

in six moons time, jaypaw, lionpaw, and hollypaw will attend their first gathering together.

and yeah! that's the basic idea.

it's a pretty straight po3 story, although we get a few new things:

med cat holly

bramble being not terrible (a shock, i know, but i have better avenues for angst rn)

nightcloud! nightcloud.

i'm generally excited for this one.
