AJIN SECRET SANTA GIFT FOR @coriandher !! merry ajin :] ive never written for either them before, so this was a fun experience!

SUMMERTIME SACCHARINE —

It’s a warm summer day. The windows are open, a light breeze lifting the curtains as it peeks into the room. There’s a slight haze where the sunlight catches the smoke from Tosaki’s cigarette. He breathes out, slowly, the heat in his lungs thick and uncomfortable. Sweat beads at his forehead, but Ai seems unaffected.

She blooms like a flower in summer, hair rustling slightly with the wind. Her skin glows in the light, smile hanging off her lips. She doesn’t have to say it— He already knows what she’s thinking, brown eyes lingering on the cigarette. Her eyes move to his lips, and she scoots closer to the table.

“Tosakiiii,” she hums, leaning against his arm.

“Ai,” he responds curtly, though less curtly than he would with anyone else.

Her hands are cold as they find the crook of his arm, despite the heat. He puts a hand on top of hers to offer a warmth he can’t seem to run out of. She has a certain saccharine to her voice, even as she breathes.

“You should stop smoking,” she says, finally.

He snorts, raises a brow, and promptly puts out the cigarette. It’s done, anyway— nothing but smoldering rubble.

“You should close the windows,” he replies, and motions to them. “You’ll get us unwanted houseguests.”

He’s referring to the pigeon now perched there, head poking in to investigate their living room. She giggles, a lovely sound, really— And suddenly he can’t bring himself to care much, though the concept of a filthy pigeon in their speckless house gives him a headache. It flicks its wings, and he scrunches up his face.

“I always wanted a pet,” she argues, voice still light.

He shakes his head, eyeing the bird. “I always did not.”

“Tosakiii,” she sings again, closer to a whine.

“As long as it’s not a pigeon,” he retorts, with as much humor in his voice as he can muster. This seems to be enough for her, as she giggles into his arm and then draws closer.

He runs his free hand over his face and then, after some contemplation, finds the small of her back with it. He’s not particularly affectionate— Never has been, but she melts under his touch regardless, basking in the melting afternoon light. Soon it will be dinner time, and they will share a meal under the cool air of a dark and bustling city. Soon it will be night, where she’ll slip under the covers beside him, and put her head on his heartbeat. Soon they will be asleep, and all will be right in the world.

Kei as the lost son of Tosaki, Kei knows, Tosaki doesn’t. So much angsty potential. Imagine finally finding your lost son but your wife is still in a coma, a terrorist is after your boy and you realize you let him get tortured all while he never spoke up about it because he didn’t think you would care.

this might be ooc somewhere but i had to much fun making this to scrap it. Extra context & doodles under the cut

percy basically wrapped bao into dressing up with him before she paid up. Bao was hesitant at first but then agreed since no one else was around. Then she found the really fluffy skirt (its too big for her) matched it with the white top n belt. Jamie walked in with the flowers (for yet another vase) and with Nena. He was very confused. bao then finds the veil and jamie finds the gun and gives it to her.

here's all the characters i like :^) basically terogumi and shimomura & tosaki. i hated tosaki at first but he grew on me, he's a pretty complex character. (my top 3 are tanaka, takahashi and gen btw)
