I got this youtube video in my recommendations that I watched that was supposed to be a horror author dunking on some tiktok where a lady was saying "horror bad" but in actuality she was barely better than the woman she was supposed to be arguing against.

Like the tiktok lady got into a rant about how the 'ooh let's cuddle and watch horror movies' meme is disturbing because "why would you want to cuddle with someone who wants to make you watch violence" or something which is a horrible take yes, but this fucking author. Her response wasn't "okay some people have different tastes than you. Who cares." It was "okay but not all horror is gore and violence! Most people saying that probably mean they wanna watch like, Beetlejuice or something uwu" and then she went on to agree that she also wouldn't be comfortable doing that if the movie choice was "something violent and gorey like Friday the 13th."

First of all what a not particularly gorey choice even?? Like that's such a normie snuggle up and watch horror around Halloween choice at least pick something that better illustrates your own point.

But really, like. Some people do actually just genuinely like the really fucked up stuff and that's fine. I'm so tired of this whole "but we condem the really weird stuff!" attitude.

i do have homicidal thoughts, and i will vent about them on here. this does not mean i will act on them, im simply just an unstable girl thing unable to seek the treatment i need so i cope by spilling my thoughts to random strangers on the web.

i do have a serial killer/cannibalistic alter. no i do not let him front frequently (but if he does he is one of those whom posts on the blog), esp if i am dealing with said homicidal ideation.

my alters are mostly "their own people" so to speak, some are fictive, others simply identify with fictional characters. @reapershi for example, is his own person, but heavily identifies with death the kid from soul eater so often uses his depiction to represent himself. i do have a stein alter, yes he's a fucking lunatic, yes he sometimes posts on the blog as well if i myself am not doing well. he is not harmful, however. lastly, i have a wolf boy alter, who heavily identifies with razor from genshin. he is the last alter who i allow to sometimes post on my blog. he's also his own person, but has the mentality of a feral child. he will usually only reblog photos of wolves when he is active. again, it is not common for these alters to be fronting, it does not happen all the time, only if im severely struggling with something. i have various other alters who have no interest in using tumblr too, but usually it's me at the front. just putting this here as clarification that i am not constantly switching like most did fakers tend to do. these alters are very real, i struggle very much with past trauma and my sense of identity, and i also wish the quirky "trend" of did would stop.

i do not tolerate racism, homophobia, nazism or bigotry. i do not condone these actions from any killers i may reblog or post about.

i do, however, condone the idea of natural selection. :]

miseryporn and tortureporn are always really shallow "criticisms" (accusations) to label a piece with but even if they were accurate its still like "yeah, and?"

like imagine calling a story "joyporn" for having a happy ending and characters enjoying life or something

I love whump as a deconstruction of any genre. Like, sure, it's tortureporn on the surface. But any writer who loves a character that much is doing it as a way to express it. As for someone like me, who is aromantic, I really feel seen when other whump writers say this is how they express affection for their whumpees in a non-romantic environment.

I've also been thinking about it a lot since I started reading a bunch of queer texts. The original text that coins the term "compulsory heterosexuality", for example, is a really difficult but interesting read (the text itself is called "Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence" by Adrienne Rich, if anyone is interested). In the recent decades, it's really nice to see all sorts of media that aren't starkly comphet, and redefine what love and romance are, especially in a safe fictional environment. In fanfiction particularly, it feels almost like revolutionary praxis against comphet, which makes me so glad like nothing ever has.

As a lesbian myself, I often think about why I wasn't able to fit in, or why I couldn't understand the "standard" idea for love. The society around me enforced a typical "ideal", especially since I was raised in a religious environment (I am an ex-catholic, lol). As a result, it felt like everything about me was wrong, especially since I never saw anything that was near my experiences in fiction—until I grew older and found queer media/fanfic. Out of everything that stuck out to me, it's definitely got to be whump. Seeing my favourite characters getting hurt and never recovering, or being held by a different character. Seeing these non-traditional forms of love be it through the whumper, the caretaker, or the carewhumper. Seeing all sorts of unprocessed emotions being worked through in whump. It's amazing. I love it so much.

And sure. I have definitely gotten hate comments saying that "this is messed up" or "it seems like you hate this character" after I write a particularly brutal whump fic. At the same time though, I don't particularly care that much if opinions differ, since I write what I like, and it's up to a reader to read it or not.

Anyway. My brain is a whump machine and I probably will never stop writing for it lmao.

it’s been awhile since i’ve been active on this blog, but i have a fun announcement for everyone. if you’re coming from twitter, this might be especially interesting to you! 🫶🏾

as you guys know, one of my new favorite ships is bloodblade/wyllstarion (Wyll Ravengard x Astarion Ancunín) from Baldur’s Gate III. i’ve been hyperfixating on them for awhile now, and i’m really letdown by how little slice of life fic we have for them. 

i would also really love to expand my writing skills perfect my craft as writer. i’ve neglected my writing muscles in recent years and i’m disappointed in a lot of the works i write now. 

because of this, i’ll be doing something that i haven’t done in literal years! i am opening my inbox for you to submit prompts for me to write. i will post the longer ones first on AO3, then here on tumblr, and finally link them on Twitter for all of my mutuals to find. 

the shorter drabbles i’ll post here on tumblr straight from the ask & link to them on twitter. if you’re reading this, my inbox is open & i’m currently taking requests. 

for the purposes of organization, i’ll only be accepting drabble prompts & requests here on tumblr though my inbox. my tumblr is linked on both my AO3 & Twitter accounts though, so it won’t be hard to find me.
