saw some concept art from gotg and had this thought where calus's tormentors are different from the other ones because they have these giant imposing purple and gold robes covering them.
he'll tell you it's to help them appear more "presentable" etc etc but i think calus primarily did it because he doesn't want to fucking look at/acknowledge them anymore because of how lifeless and indifferent they are (and they accepted it, they're technically his in a sense on top of also being like jailers/holders in a way).
it's like when your parents put this freakish thing in your room that you don't like so u just. throw a blanket over it and woop! it's gone.
