it’s kind of a shame they cut a lot from ushio to tora because what you don’t see in episode 24 that was in the manga is just HOW sweet and awesome Mayuko is. In the manga there’s a whole group of people that get captured by these yokai. there’s one guy who starts yelling at everyone because he’s scared and mayuko (understanding the situation they are in) is trying to direct everyone to safety. Basically he calls her annoying and a stupid girl who doesn’t know any better, demeaning and embarrassing her in front of everyone. Later he’s the one hanging off the edge and mayuko doesn’t hesitate for a moment to go and save him. 

There’s also all these moment when tora is just staring at her with this expression that’s just so tender and heartwarming. Like he’s so confused by her words and actions but doesn’t want her to stop. 

They are just really sweet and beautiful and i wish i was dead.

Have you ever wonder that if tora and mayuko ever have a child, the child will be like Yusuke from yuyu hakusho... Tora's blood power or Mayuko's gift will be descended to his few next generation instead of his first child. And their first child will likely be either normal or just a bit too hairy.
