"I have nothing against getting old. It's dying I don't like. But these things often go together unfortunately." "Most are way too positive when they talk and write about getting old. Old age is often portrayed as light and poetic, that you almost get the impression that it's our best period in this life. But of course getting old is shit. It's a wandering from one humiliation to the next. I mean: It's far from light and poetic when you suddenly have to realise that you certainly stepped into the bathtub all on your own, but how the hell are you gonna get out of it again?" So introduces Tor Åge Bringsværd his reflective diary on aging - a poetic and (selvutleverende*) wandering through the trials of old age, in what the author calls “a socialrealistic, blabbing tone”. The reader gets to share the big and - especially - the small thoughts on getting old, on becoming something other than one was, conveyed with a (soon) 80 year old man’s honesty and unquenchable curiosity.

*This is the first time I see this word and I seriously have no idea how to translate it or even what it means. Lexicons and translators didn’t help.

Anyway. I saw this book in the Norwegian history and old books part of the library and thought the cover and the title looked interesting so I borrowed it! Like two months ago. I had to get an extension and I still haven’t read it. I still want to, it sounds interesting, though I’m scared that it’ll be too cynical for my tastes. I’m still excited and will try to at least start it before I get another extension.

Gir en Murderbot-bok i bursdagsgave snart, så jeg begynte å lese røkla om igjen. De er fortsatt så fine, så stødig stemme, så mange måter å vise ren opossum-blitzfoto-skrekk i møte med sosiale interaksjoner uten å navngi følelsen.

I’m doing a show this weekend about a post apocalyptic world where the earth has stopped spinning, the humans have disappeared and left a bunch of surgical and biological experiment hybrids to roam the earth alone. They all got their own stories and mythologies about how and where the ones living before them left, and not agreeing they’ve agreed to hate and fear each other.

favorite solo artist: Uhm. That was a difficult one. I will never ever forget Nils Bech and how he lifted the Skam trailer for season 3 and the scene O Helga Natt with his song. But I have other favs, too.

Mulig at det ikke er Den store kjærligheten vi kjenner for hverandre lenger, tenkte jeg. Men hva med Den lille kjærligheten, er ikke den også verdt noe?
