I'm so annoyed with the Top hate or ppl saying the car scene was fully consensual top is a big boy but not taking Boston manipulating top how easily Top gave in ok so does his reaction not mean anything and everyone is so focused on the 2 years part I'm so sick of if

look. i get it. it's bl. there are a lot of consent issues that have been normalized in the space and in some dramas/contexts, they're not meant to be viewed negatively or interpreted as assault - even if they would be in real life. however, only friends is unsubtly trying to subvert that trope, AND "assuming you have permission to engage in a sexual act because you've done it in the past" with "a partner who is disengaged, nonresponsive, or visibly upset" is not consent,

and this isn't the first time boston has crossed that line:

"giving in" to someone is not consent. (i also have a hard time believing that the whole choking thing was consensual, both because the assumption issue i mentioned and for Theme reasons. you know, choking on smoke... choking during sex... plus, he really doesn't look like he likes it. not posting a cap of that shit though.)

also, rape by deception is a thing. it's complicated (and unfortunately has been used against trans people😡), but it's a thing. "deception that causes significant harm in addition to the infringement of the victim's autonomy" applies here. autonomy is about making informed decisions.

top could not make an informed decision because of boston's objectively cruel, harmful deception.

setting aside all of that, even if we somehow don't read it as coercion/rape, top is taken advantage of. that is 100% true. and the person being taken advantage of in these situations is never the one at fault. ever.

tricking someone into sleeping with you under false pretenses is reprehensible. it doesn't matter what any law says (and rape laws are not the be-all, end-all of consent!), lying to top and hurting him that much in the process just so he (who NEVER WANTED TO SLEEP WITH HIM AGAIN!! CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH) will have sex with him should be unforgivable.

the fact of the matter is that if boston hadn't lied to top, cornered him, and touched him without his permission, top wouldn't have had sex with him. period. and that in and of itself should tell you that what went down in that scene was EXTREMELY FUCKED UP because of WHAT BOSTON DID.

(and wait, what's up with the two years part? why are they preoccupied with that? the only reason the two years thing matters is because mew has been lying since the beginning... and boston more than implies that they're sleeping with each other again. what????)

So this queue day, there was an OF production staff IG story of Book being cute and smacking his lips, but look! he’s wearing the same outfit as the end of episode 9. I put the google translation on the ig video when I made it a gif because when I saw the translation I was like no wayyy. Thai translates to “eat someone” or “they ate each other” etc when they mean sex. full disclosure: It was the same day as the trailer release so that could definitely be the delicious thing that’s going to be consumed.

Ok so I am most certainly biased for forcebook they are my favorite gmmtv pairs now before the seriesci was excited for sandray but I'm gonna be honest some fk stans and just fans over all kinda ruin that experience with unnecessary hate TopMew or FB gets every week it's got to the point I do not give a fuck about them and I can't even stan bostonNick cause obvious reasons but what gets me I've seen people talk so much about bostonnick and sandray but completely ignore topmew the more people do that the petty I want to be

oh i am the queen of petty, pal. you've come to the right place. i'm not going to take it out on firstkhao (i really do like them! the eclipse is one of my favorite dramas!), but i hear you, there are some stans who are really annoying and it does make it harder to enjoy the other characters. i don't want it to!! but it feels rather pointed and super sucks how few people are making (positive) content for topmew >:( tbh i'd probably make gifs of nick/mark if there weren't such a glut of non-topmew content :/ but here i am trying to fill the void :/ (not that i'm complaining about making stuff for my boys, of course i love it. i just want more😭)

yeah, same! i'd imagine it didn't make it past workshops and they didn't film it. i think there's only so much they can actually get away with (maybe fingering, but idk how they'd film rimming!???!? come to think of it, fingering has NOT shown up in the series at all and we're 9 episodes in🤔) AND the scene is already SO intimate, i can understand why it'd feel like too much to shoot, especially since they seemed to be trying to do something different with topmew. would've liked to get a part two of the guncher scene in ep10 though 😭

So we've talked in the comments a few times but I wanted to say I agree with everything you've said about TopMew it's so annoying that they either ignore them and only focus on Top supposedly cheating not noticing how Boston is assaulting him but Top is the bad guy while Boston gets a blind eye tbh I feel TopMew gets so overlooked anyway cause everyone is forcus on SandRay (which I am finding boring I love sober Ray but I'm not feeling Sand at all) and BostonNick (I love Nick but hate Boston it's quite annoying I don't even go on any only friends tag I just stay in the fandom

but yeah! i keep seeing the same people who love boston fucking HAAAAAAATE top. and like, look no one has to like my favorite character, but willfully misunderstanding him to support their own excessive, disproportionate hatred?

it would be one thing if the fandom were all in for every slutty bitchy man on the slutty bitchy man show, but like you said, apparently boston's the only one who gets a free pass. (side-note: i maintain that top is a slut and a bitch; while boston is a player and an asshole. so far, i have been proven right *flips hair*) we're okay with the sexual predator, who literally refers to people as prey and hits the person he's been sleeping with? if we're going to take the trailer as gospel (which we shouldn't tbh), why is that overlooked?

and if they really care so much about the cheating subplot, again, why does boston get a free pass?????!? it takes more than one person to cheat. he's supposed to be mew's best friend, they've known each other for yeeears, and he fucks the guy's first boyfriend. for me? burnt fucking bridge. i'd kick him in the pool too!!!! that is the real betrayal, not whatever top does.

i also find sandray boring 👉👈 i'm kind of the opposite though, i'm a little over ray and sand seems like he'll have a more interesting arc. but as characters and a ship they don't do a lot for me.

this is going to be such a needlessly long answer soz i technically have a twitter, it's @/farewellswords (i have it linked in my themed blog and ao3), but i more or less abandoned it back in 2021 and have only popped in every once in a while this year. most recently to freak out about @/VivienneActing (sorry, i don't know his real name!😩) seeing and agreeing with my post djlkjlwjgdlkd it's privated, i've had it for eight years and i'm following 600+ accounts so it's absolute chaos and i left it behind for a reason.

BUT if people want to credit me and let me know they like my posts, that's great! especially since my twitter links to my ao3 and this tumblr! but i have push notifications turned off and probably won't respond, unprivate/accept follow requests, or get into the weeds of other twitter-users' reactions/thoughts about it because that's kinda what made me burn out on twitter in 2021. (i mean, i already saw someone react to my post with "top has narcissistic personality disorder"🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄)
