Symphony to Silencer || Sinfonia in Wonderland
Tumblr media
⋯✧・♪♫♪・✧⋯ Sinfonia was forty-five (45) years old when he landed in Wonderland with Sielu and Sydän. The three of them landed in Wonderland on the second (2nd) day of Misterica's destruction after Sinfonia had a lapse in his own sanity when Usva was killed in action trying to defend Misterica. This caused the musician to rush out into the gale force winds to try to find his fallen prince / liege / nephew even though doing so would have led to his demise had it not been for Sielu and Sydän's quick actions in an attempt to bring him back and save his life.
They managed to find him amongst the rubble and the gales unable to fly and simply trying to survive while clung to a broken piece of one of the sky islands. After taking Sielu's hand, the younger musician lost his own footing and it caused the three of them to tumble back out into the gales and to be blown in the dimensional pillar that had marked Misterica as Chaos' next target. (The black pillar as Mistericans called it)
With no way to fight against the gales, Sinfonia pulled both Sielu and Sydän to his chest as they were thrown into the pillar and into Wonderland in order to protect them. He did so by even breaking their fall onto Wonderland's grounds with his own body. Several of his ribs were broken on impact and he was rendered unconscious for a week's time. It took several rounds of Sydän breathing purple mist directly into Sinfonia's lungs even to get the man to come around, and several more to get him to be able to get out of bed.
It was from there, that their troubles started.
They couldn't speak the language, they didn't understand anything anyone was saying to them, and they had scarce access to food and water. No money to their names, they begged their way into an inn in town, and stayed there until they had to leave due to a dangerous situation outside of their control.
That situation being a Mist Eater by the name of Voltaire. A dragon like man that consumes Mist and works as a bounty hunter within the space of Wonderland's boarders. Upon meeting Sielu and Sinfonia in town one day, Voltaire has been hunting them ever since. The three of them had many hard scrapes and run-ins with the man that lead to countless injuries and close calls.
Five years(5) into their stint in Wonderland, the three of them were separated when they were attacked by a tiger like beast that put Sinfonia in the position of choosing to give up his own life so Sielu and Sydän could survive or damning all three of them. Ultimately, Sinfonia chose to give up his own life in order to save theirs but after the pair of twins had long since fled (much to Sinfonia's begging them to just go) he was saved in the nick of time by a band of passing traders that felled the beast attacking him and saving his life.
Injured, he ended up stuck in a near by town for eight (8) months while he mostly recovered before he started looking for Pilvi, Sielu and Sydän again. Doing so he took on the role of bounty hunting in order to gain the funds to survive and that was when "The Silencer" was born. Refusing to give anyone his name, rumors started to spread that there was a bounty hunter that could "steal your screams away" and they were calling this man "The Silencer" so Sinfonia just went with it.
However this is where I can explain the problems.
Ever since Sinfonia was a small boy he was diagnosed with multiple mental health issues. He manages Bipolar Disorder, severe anxiety, and depression - and this was all before Wonderland. On top of this, Sinfonia has multiple health issues such as impaired hearing (for a Misterican), carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists and an arrhythmia in his heart that can cause tachycardia. He lives with weakness, shaking, chest pain, migraines, chronic pain and fainting spells and this was all managed through his doctors and the use of medication.
He has not had his medication since they landed in Wonderland because when they fell into this world, he only had left what was on his person at the time. That of which, he used up in the matter of a couple months after he lessened his own dosages in order to try to "stretch it out" for as long as he could.
So basically, Sinfonia has been completely unmedicated for about seventeen (17) years, after being medicated for several decades. His mental illnesses are psychotic by nature. Meaning he experiences both severe depression and dangerous mania. His hypomanic states can also be dangerous and he can and has had his own bouts with psychosis.
Ever since he got separated from Sielu and Sydän, he started experiencing hallucinations of his older brother, the King, Helakanpunainen Aurinko. - Sinfonia just calls him Helakan for short- and has been known to have full on conversations with this ghost that follows him around.
Sinfonia is not stable by any stretch of the word but has been unable to find stability without the assistance of proper medication. Even though he has access to medical care now through Cid and the Comodeen; Cid is unfamiliar with Misterican medicine and does not speak the language so he is struggling to figure out what Sinfonia needs.
This means the pain medication being offered to him is more like a temporary patch to a burst pipe than actually helping the damage. Cid is doing his best with what he has but Sinfonia severely needs the assistance of a Misterican doctor and access to purple mist. Access he lost when Sydän passed as she was purple and her mist was healing in nature.
Sinfonia is aggressive, and cut throat when coming to handle most situations within the space of Wonderland after learning how the people here take advantage of kindness. He's had to become more assertive than he ever was back home not only to force people to listen to him but to stand an even playing ground against other people/species that are dramatically larger than him in size.
Even more so, due to his humanoid like nature most people of Wonderland already carry a predispositioned hatred for him mainly based on how he looks. Even if being human is the furthest thing from the truth about him.
Almost all creatures of Wonderland are Soil based souls and some of which can tell that Sinfonia (and the others) are very much not Soil based and they discriminate against them accordingly for it. This has caused Sinfonia's hatred towards Soil Souls to only grow in size. He's been called a slew of different names while living here, everything from fog breath to short horn to four horns to sky mouse and he has a special place in his heart for hatred towards each one.
Sinfonia's life on Misterica was truly that of a want for not situation. Not only was he one of the most famous men within the space of the entire kingdom due to his musical prowess, but he is also royal by blood. The King's Little Brother (cousin) so he was raised within the walls of the palace and almost never left them.
He didn't have to fight for anything and hardly took any form of discrimination from most people and while he did get it from some people, it was few and far between and swiftly dealt with by the people around him. There were societal consequences for disrespecting him and I think that is a heavy thing to remind because none of this exists within the space of Wonderland. If and when someone disrespects him, no one within the space of this world gives a damn and that's just not something Sinfonia was used to.
He went from setting at the very top of the chain of command to the very bottom rung of society simply because of the way he is built and the make up of his soul. Being a Mist based creature has only proved to a disadvantage to him because of this - his hatred for the world around him amplified. His family was put in danger constantly and seeing the multiple times they all nearly died at the hands of a bounty hunter, an angry member of whatever town they were in, or even a Mist Eater - Sinfonia grew colder and more aggressive each passing day.
Sinfonia grew up in a want for not situation but he also grew up during active war time for Misterica. He lost his father to the war with Windaria and he nearly lost his God Father multiple times, and seeing as how Windarians worship the Soil Spiral and have deemed themselves the guardians of it - that is where his hatred for Souls of Soil begins.
The scrapes with death, being hunted by Mist Eaters like prey animals and lack of any and all medical care only made it worse. He was in total isolation for twelve years not knowing if his husband was dead or alive and in that time what was once the Symphony became The Silencer.

anonymous asked:
What is something you find beauty in?
Tumblr media
Beauty...
There are so many answers he could give and almost all of them are other people. The way jade green eyes light up at the smell of sugar. The infinitely many colors present and shimmering in six brilliant opal horns. The bright pink hue of a sunrise made alive in his friend. The softness in a ruby gaze when tracking its owner's charge.
All of those are beautiful. And then there's Sitriini - of course he would think that his bond is the most beautiful person to ever live, though. It'd be weird to be bonded otherwise, would it not?
Still, his final reply has him sighing and staring wistfully out the nearest window. He doesn't think strangers would understand, so he gives a better, more concise answer.
"Simple things. Like... any and every shade of purple. That is my favorite color, after all."

Hi ! Do you have any finnish music recommandations ? Feel free with the genre I'm quite open. I love discovering music in other languages but I'm always worried the lyrics will be saying something really terrible 😆
Hi! I'm all for spreading Finnish music, so of course! Just a fair warning, this ended up quite lengthy... Sorry about that. 😅 Here's a tl;dr version just in case you don't feel like reading about all the genre gushing and lyrical details, I couldn't help myself haha:
Pop, schlager and rock songs:
Ram Pam Pam by BESS
Tinakenkätyttö, Kaunis rietas onnellinen, and Supernaiset by Kaija Koo
Lähtisitkö by Pave Maijanen
Hei Rakas by BEHM
Soutaa Huopaa and Saatilla by Elokuu
Henkilökohtaisesti by PMMP, as well as their albums Leskiäidin Tyttäret and Kovemmat Kädet (content warning on these, if you end up reading translations of the lyrics, some of the songs on these albums deal with some heavy topics!)
Pauhaava sydän, Hetkeksi en sulle rupia, and Suudellaan by Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu
Marmoritaivas by Johanna Kurkela
Suru on kunniavieras by Jenni Vartiainen (though her entire discography is phenomenal)
Che Guevara by Happoradio
Kaikki mitä mä annoin by Uniklubi
Samantekevää by Tiktak
Ikuinen Virta by Indica
Joutsenlaulu by Yö
Metal (or heavier) songs:
Hengitä by Turmion Kätilöt (content warning again, some of this band's songs have quite spicy lyrics, though I'd say a good portion of those songs are satirical. This song in particular doesn't have any questionable lyrics haha)
Laiva by Merta
Syvyydet by Vorna
Armo by Apulanta
Hope you find something you like among these!
Now for the longer answer lol:
For modern pop songs, there's no better place to start than Ram Pam Pam by BESS. The song has become a bit of a Eurovision darling despite the fact that it lost in the Finnish Eurovision national final, the UMK, and thus didn't compete in 2022. The song bears influence of Finnish pop and schlager (in Finnish this genre is called "iskelmä") artist Kaija Koo's songs, which tend to have empowering messages. If you want to listen to Kaija Koo's music, I'd recommend the songs Tinakenkätyttö, Kaunis rietas onnellinen, and Supernaiset.
A song that I have a personal soft spot for is the 80's summer banger Lähtisitkö by Pave Maijanen. It's a corny love song, but that's exactly why it's so great. 🥰 While we're on the topic love songs, there's also Hei Rakas by BEHM, which has very sweet and genuine lyrics and absolutely gorgeous instrumentals. (As a side note, this song is somewhat connected to Eurovision as well, as BEHM performed the song live during UMK 2020 as an interval act).
If you're interested in pop songs that use traditional Finnish instruments in them, I'd recommend both Soutaa Huopaa and Saatilla by the band Elokuu. These songs mix traditional Finnish instruments and the traditional Finnish dance music genre humppa (similar to waltz and foxtrot music) with Finnish schlager music and rap. In that sense, these songs are somewhat similar to Käärijä's Cha Cha Cha, as they mix schlager with rap, though the vibes are completely different. 😂 There's also Henkilökohtaisesti by PMMP, which uses a mix of traditional Finnish instruments and modern genres. As a matter of fact, I'd recommend the entirety of PMMP's album Leskiäidin Tyttäret, where Henkilökohtaisesti is included, as well as another album called Kovemmat Kädet. Though as a fair warning, many of the songs on these albums touch on very heavy topics. There's also the band Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu, which blended traditional folk elements with schlager and rock. Their lyrics also utilise the Finnish Pohjanmaa dialect, adding onto the folk -feel of their music. Most of their songs are love songs, my personal favourites from their catalogue are Pauhaava sydän, Hetkeksi en sulle rupia, and Suudellaan. There's also the song Marmoritaivas by Johanna Kurkela, another very beautiful love song with some more traditional sounding elements to it. Fun fact about Johanna, she's also an ex UMK contestant who didn't make it to Eurovision! Moreover, Suru on kunniavieras by Jenni Vartiainen doesn't necessarily use any traditional instruments, but resembles old Finnish music in terms of specific vocals and some of the lyrics.
Of course I also have to bring up Finnish metal and rock music. Some of my personal favourite metal songs in Finnish are Hengitä by Turmion Kätilöt (who tend to have quite... interesting lyrics), Laiva by Merta and Syvyydet by Vorna. Hengitä and Laiva are both songs about mental illness. For less heavy music, there are the likes of Happoradio and Uniklubi, for specifically all-female acts there are Tiktak and Indica. As a starting point for these bands, I'd recommend Che Guevara by Happoradio, Kaikki mitä mä annoin by Uniklubi, Samantekevää by Tiktak (fun fact this was my absolute favourite song as a kid) and Ikuinen Virta by Indica. I feel slightly obligated to also recommend the songs Joutsenlaulu by Yö and Armo by Apulanta, as both are arguably culturally significant songs. Joutsenlaulu is a reflection on mortality and a song about loss (playing into the typical Finnish artist's obsession with death as an artistic motif), while Armo could be interpreted as a song about the Winter War (a war between the Soviet Union and Finland that took place during the World War II and has shaped Finnish culture immensely). There's also a very beautiful choir cover of the song Armo, called Konflikti (Armo). This version was featured in a movie about Apulanta. Sadly, Joutsenlaulu is not available on Spotify anymore (or any other streaming services for that matter). Funnily enough, Joutsenlaulu was originally meant to be a candidate for the Eurovision song contest of 1984, but the idea was scrapped after its composer came to the realisation that he couldn't possibly keep the length of the song under three minutes. Anyway, here's a link to the song on YouTube, just in case the links above don't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URDrfH2Rbbg&ab_channel=FinSongs

Käsilaatat master post
Under the cut is some translation notes, and a retry of/addition to the old topic on Finnish pronunciation and spelling and stuff involved to those.
If you wonder about the keymash, while the letter ’L’ is the last letter on that row in an English keyboard, ’Ä’ is the last in the same row in a Finnish one, so it just felt appropriate.
What Asgore says about something you’ve only read on paper being hard to pronounce seems to me it refers to a specific issue English and some other languages have, so I changed the phrasing a bit to sound more like a problem with Finnish: If you’ve never heard of the letter before, it’s hard for you to pronounce. Hearing is the key there, Finnish is spelled as it is pronounced(*) with a few exceptions: - ng and nk -combinations inside a word melt weirdly together instead of sounding like independent letters, you can try hear the difference if you type ’kuningas’ and ’kunin gas’ or ’kenkä’ and ’ken kä’ to Google Translate and set it to Finnish and push the ’hear this spoken’ -button that appears. I think the difference is more obvious with the former pair. - kin -ending in a verb is spelled with one, and pronounced with two ’k’. Same with -pa/pä ending with a verb. Example uses: Ota selvää ([you] find out [about something]), Otakin selvää ([You] better find out), Otapa selvää (Go ahead and find out/[You] might as well find out). - the bended forms of the word ’sydän’(heart) have only one ’m’ but it’s pronounced with two. F.ex ’sydämen’(of heart), ’sydämestä’(from heart), ’sydämeni’(my heart)
These are cases that I thought would be interesting, if you want to learn more on the exceptions and can read Finnish at least a bit here’s official instructions with samples from the institution in charge of making and maintaining the rules Finnish has.
Letters x, c, q, w and z exist in the alphabet mostly for the foreign words/ loan words (and Swedish, when you add å to the bunch), most of them used to have a more active role in Finnish spelling back in the 1700’s or something, when the first Finnish books came about. These days they are usually in loan words that are yet to become common or dear enough to get ”Finnished”. The trickiest of them is probably ’c’ since it’s sometimes pronounced like ’s’ and other times like ’k’, you just have to learn the cases by heart. Out of those letters, Finnish Scrabble has only a single ’c’, and none of the other ones (not even the å). If you need the others (you dont.) you can use the ’empty letter’ blocks.
(*) In Finnish, if you can read it, you can pronounce it. English pronunciation is a lot more context-sensitive to surrounding letters and plain memorising when compared to Finnish. F.ex. think of the word ’Mercedes’, the letter ’e’ is pronounced three different ways in English, in Finnish pronunciation all of the ’e’ make the same sound. This might be an unfair comparison since it’s a German brand name, but it’s the best comparison on this topic I could remember. Transcript of the English pronunciation to Finnish would be ’mörseidiis’.
Thanks to this, a Finnish spelling bee would be very boring to watch, it’d probably rely on those few exceptions above, with longer words it’s just a matter of if you forget where you are in the word you’re spelling aloud. On the other hand, thanks to this English is a lot easier to come up with horrible puns. While we can do some puns in Finnish, they are based on words that look and sound like other words in their dialect version or when bended (f.ex. kuusi palaa), or spacing of the word (f.ex sankarillinen-> sanka-rillinen [heroic->someone who wears glasses that have the parts that connect to your ear, applies to Gaster but not to Alphys]).

Stupid Young Heart
Jared Mobarak on September 9, 2018
It was fun to laugh back in January when Donald Trump spoke to the media about how he wanted fewer immigrants from “shithole” countries and more from the likes of Norway. We laughed because it was obvious what the difference between the two was for him, but there’s a growing trend towards radical right populism and nationalism over there too. Just as Nazis have come out of the woodwork in America under their rebranded moniker “alt-right,” nations such as Finland have been combatting their own fair share of racial unrest targeting Muslim immigrants. And while you wouldn’t think so at first, Selma Vilhunen’s latest film Stupid Young Heart depicts the resurgence.
Before this underlying trend infiltrates Kirsikka Saari’s script, however, the story arrives as a document of young love and responsibility between Lenni (Jere Ristseppä) and Kiira (Rosa Honkonen). The two prove an odd match in conventionally stereotypical terms: he the scrawny skateboard punk and she the popular dance team captain. But a few weeks back they hooked up nonetheless. Lenni’s friends joke she was drunk in a bid to get a rise out of him considering he’d had a crush on her for two years previously. And we’d almost believe it if not for the fact that she doesn’t put him down in a show of superiority when he arrives uninvited to her practice. She declines his invitation to hangout, but she never comes across as mean.
The reason for her cautious trepidation is soon revealed: she’s pregnant. It’s the type of news that puts their teenage lives and maturity in perspective, the kind that gets emotions amped up thanks to adolescence and the additional stress of what keeping the baby means. Lenni’s mom is barely home, though, so his only outlet for advice is his best friend’s older acquaintance Janne (Ville Haapasalo). Kiira’s mom is so wrapped up in caring for her three brothers that any response automatically causes a rise in the young woman thanks to the chaos. The only people they can truly rely upon are each other and that can hardly be enough considering their age. They’re an impressionable, hot-tempered flake and self-centered drama queen respectively. But they are in love.
So we watch them test the waters. She pushes him to find his threshold for independence and he has a difficult time keeping his opinions to himself. There are many starts and stops to their relationship because they’re too young to truly have the patience for the kind of compromise their union would demand. Lenni is deluded into thinking he’s owed a job simply because he’s willing to do whatever it takes. Kiira unrealistically believes they’re home will be minimalist chic at a price on the low-end of high-end thanks to her limited scope of what the world costs. And both believe themselves to be too proud for welfare assistance. They’re white, European, middle class citizens who’ve received just enough to never know what it means to suffer.
This is our initial introduction to the identity politics and social class rhetoric to come. We don’t think twice about Lenni’s kind neighbor Abdi (Abshir Sheik Nur) or the fact that Janne has a bald photo of himself on what appears to be a wrestling mat. Saari and Vilhunen sprinkle details in to create atmosphere as well as set up conflicts still forthcoming, this town gradually opening up around what had felt like an insulated story of teenage parenthood. Suddenly we meet a group of Somali immigrants outside their marketplace mosque next to the furniture store where Kiira shops and the gym where Janne fights. Bigotry is heard from the mouth of Lenni’s mother and opinions begin to spill forth that can’t be put back in their bottle.
And the transformations start occurring at breakneck speed once the pregnancy reaches its final month. Tensions rise to the point where these kids can’t simple smile away a tough conversation. The real world is coming at them fast and furious and they’ve nowhere to turn. Kiira wonders if she’s on an island alone because of her tendency to push those who care away. Lenni begins to think he’s sacrificing his identity and losing his mind with no one in a position of authority besides a soon-to-be-revealed neo-Nazi filling his head. Aggression and sorrow arrive in equal measure to turn every little squabble into a federal offense and the outlets used to let loose are balanced on a tightrope precariously positioned underneath a guillotine ready to descend.
The filmmakers do well to create this timely and important scenario around their central drama in a way that never overpowers the character study behind both. They don’t use the baby as a pawn to be politicized either save one brief scene dealing with abortion. Instead this unborn child becomes a metaphor for the best parts of its parents. When many other films would use teenage pregnancy as a cautionary tale for celibacy, Stupid Young Heart allows it to be the potentially beautiful miracle that it is with adults. If not for this baby connecting these two lost souls going down paths that lead who knows where, things could be much worse. So when it appears all is finally lost, we know recovery remains possible.
Credit Honkonen and Ristseppä for this truth because they’re wonderful in their roles. They brilliantly travel between their struggles and entitlement, always attempting to have the best of both their worlds (youth and parenthood) despite one constantly being the antithesis of the other. It’s easy to forget Honkonen as the second lead, but her growth and maturity can’t be undervalued. Ristseppä by comparison receives the heavier role with Lenni’s mind and heart being pulled in so many directions that he’s able to so vehemently blame innocent strangers for his own missteps and failings. And yet through it all they can find each other’s eyes and look past the posturing and fear. No one knows what the future has in store, but having each other gives them hope.
In the end the baby does more than wash their personal suffering away. Ultimately parenthood is the single topic we as human beings can agree upon. We argue about race, religion, and sexuality until we literally take up guns in some delusional show of virtue. We look at each other and lump good people into groups judged by their worst minority and lose ourselves to the misdirected rage that conjures. But if you are distraught about your child or worried about the unknown he/she will bring, there exists a universality that transcends any differences. It’s a bond many exploit (“As a father of daughters I abhor misogyny”), but also one that unites. If children in cages aren’t enough to expose the real enemy, you’re probably already lost.

I also got this for you so you can see the entire cast of surviving Mistericans.
This is every Misterican that survived the fall and there is a reason for it. The Fall lasted 3 days.
Aamunkoitto and Valo were the first to "disappear" into the darkness. They were swept up into the gales and blown into the pillar landing them effectively in Wonderland on Day 1.
Revon went looking for them after he lost his hold on Pilvi (Kumo). He got blown into the pillar while he was out looking for the prince on Day 2.
When Usva was killed on Day 2, Sinfonia's gem of commitment to him snapped causing the man to fall into a blind panic. Sielu and Sydän chased after him hoping to pull him back to where everyone was taking refuge in the mountains. Gales swept them all up instead, as soon as they reached him, so Sinfonia pulled them to him and used his body to shield them when they all fell into Wonderland.
Pilvi was left without his guard or half of his soul binds to deal with the Last Day of the fall alone.

Laventelin Kukka was Prince Pilvi's Art instructor. Even if he is a rather short man, he's the second oldest of all Pilvi's binds. He was Pilvi's final bind to join the crew as he was suggested for the position by his cousins Violetti Sydän and Aqua Sielu. Lord Aurinko set out to find him that day and pulled him off of a mural job he'd been commissioned for by a local shopkeeper.
Kukka flew through his trial week with flying colors, as he was quick to grow close to the prince, affectionately nicknaming him snowball in the process. Kukka lives in the palace with his bond, Indigo Aalto. Who moved his gardening passions into the service of the royal family.
Kukka is high energy and loves to see the world from new views and this includes flipping himself upside down and hanging from the rafters of his classroom if that's how he can see his art with a new view. Being so high energy, he found himself becoming fast friends with Ilta Palo but he also found himself rather close to Nousi Aamunkoitto if only because he loves to tease the man.

oh BOY it's back it's also MY favorite meme for pilvi: 💭 + misterican winter... just how cold was it? (+ any other thoughts on it)
Tumblr media
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ His arms are crossing over his chest as he thinks about and he tries to think of a place in Wonderland that even remotely comes close to how cold home did.
Tumblr media
"No where here requires a cloak." He explains.
"I'm not saying that one wouldn't make a few places more comfortable, but I would only have to pull my cloak out if I went deep into the clouds here. The winter season at home was very cold but it was still my favorite. Performing the ritual was brutal since I was in ceremonial garb and that meant my feet were bare on the ritual stone, but I adjusted as I danced. The more I moved the warmer I got. Still it was so cold that day.
I think the thing I loved the most of the winter season beyond valkoisen syntymää was being able to go vesikävelyä with Opettaja Sydän. That was always so much fun. Mother would watch and sometimes Father would come watch too but he was pretty terrible at the actual act. He tried though. Usva was alright but he was never as fast as I was. Opettaja Vuorovesi though. She could give us a ride on the breeze. She was so good. "

Opettaja Violetti Sydän is Valkoinen Pilvi's Dance instructor. She was picked from the various other applicants for the position because of her expert skill at the craft and a recommendation from her twin brother, Aqua Sielu.
Sydän is a skilled dancer and much like Pilvi's other teachers is with him for life. The same as Pilvi's other teachers had before her, she made a life oath to him upon accepting her position. The nature of this oath entails that she will serve under him for the rest of her life or his, and that should he assume the throne as an adult she will move from being one of his instructors to his advisors.
Her job as his teacher is not just to instruct him in the art of dance but also to make sure the boy knows all of the ceremonial and ritual dances within the space of Misterican society.
Sydän loves her job and her prince with all her heart and would do anything for him to make sure that he is well and happy. She has become close friends with Aamunkoitto and Palo in her time teaching, while also becoming friends with Safiirin, Prince Usva's personal bodyguard.

Anonymous asked: 📚☀️☁️ + What made you fond of those twins you keep so close, anyway? They seem like the type of people you'd scold for a lack of discipline and try to avoid... and their Mist is nowhere even close in color to yours. How do their antics not get on your last nerve? Shouldn't they be working instead of slacking off? They're supposed to teach the prince, but are they even doing that? Why would you ever tolerate their behavior?

·:¨༺ ✩★✩ ༻¨:·. "For starters, you're getting on my last nerve faster than either of those two do. Also their names are Sielu and Sydän, not 'those twins'. Being twins doesn't sum up their entire reason for being. They're twins but they're entirely different people with different personalities, so I suggest you respect this.
As for slacking off, they hardly do either. Both of them are some of the hardest working Mistericans in their fields I have ever met. Do you think they became experts at their crafts over night? Obviously you know nothing of the arts.
So for your information if you must know, I tolerate their behaviors because they are both literal geniuses in the arts they profess in. They are teaching the prince and masterfully I might add. Prince Pilvi is becoming single-handedly the most talented musician and dancer, Misterica has ever seen and they're to thank for it.
There's more to life than your human based academics. The sheer arrogance ... I swear."

📚🩰☁️ + do you ALSO make otter sounds or is it just your brother that's... Like That
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Sielu is largely just..like that. He just makes noises. He has our whole lives. He makes them more to certain people. Like me, our parents, isoveli or Sinfonia. The people he feels safe with. He'll make them to our co-binds too.
He's always been noises over full on speaking since we were born but it doesn't mean he can't call your ear off. He just needs to be on a certain subject and with a certain person. Ask him to tell you all of Sinfonia's "pleasant orange features" and then expect there to be a while."
She pauses with a small laugh.
"But I make noises to. All Mistericans do. I am much the same in the aspect of with certain people and over certain things. I am much more reserved about it than he is, but we've always been opposites. It's just how we are."

"Leave him. I thought I was going die. I thought it was my time to fade. I was ready. Broken arm and barely holding myself together I was ready to return to the heavens to my father before me - and I would have done it if it meant keeping Sielu and Sydän alive. They needed time to get away and I was going to give it to them with every ounce of life I had left as the seconds ticked down to nothing.
I heard him scream. I heard him begging. I heard him crying. I heard him fighting Sydän and I know first hand how strong he is. I didn't want to leave his side. I didn't want to let go, but it was either I die or we all died so I - I couldn't let them see me fade. I didn't want him to see me fade. He'd already - they already lost their parents.
After everything we'd been through - I knew they would figure it out without me. It was my life or theirs and I - even knowing what I know now - I would still choose them every time. I love him, I'd do anything for Sielu."

OC List + Interaction Guide
Below are some short blurbs about other OCs that pop up frequently here as well as how you can interact with them!
Tumblr media
Vihreä Terälehti is an author and a librarian. He's the adoptive older brother to Sielu and Sydän due to his biological parents' abuse and neglect. Softspoken, gentle, and shy, Terälehti is not known to cause or participate in conflict unless it's through his political writing. He works as the palace librarian and archivist for the Royal Family. Additionally, he finds himself quite close friends with Sinfonia and Lento. He and Lento work closely together to raise the child he found, called Kataja. He is murdered well before the fall of Misterica by the Church and his biological parents.

Ukkonen Pauhu is Sielu's favorite music teacher and a close family friend. Though he looks quite intimidating, standing at 6'5" and constantly scowling, he's actually quite soft and mischevious. Rather than having kids of his own, Pauhu took to education and quasi-adopting his friends' kids. He is a very close friend of Tuli's and is basically Sinfonia's uncle. He is still alive after Misterica's fall and is wandering Wonderland.

Indigo Tuulta is a Royal Knight, Mist Mythic (spellcaster), and combat medic. He was on the front lines of the war with Windaria multiple times. After the ceasefire, he became a doctor overseeing many of the other Knights. He is a close friend of Tuli, Hiillos, Joki, and Taivas, and the godfather to Sinfonia. However, this information is largely unknown due to how quiet and reserved Tuulta is. Tuulta ends up with a group of survivors with him in Wonderland after Misterica's fall.

Lord Haya is the Misterican god of music and the twin god of Lady Haja. Being one of Tiamat's children, Haya is a Mist Dragon in his true form. However, he often took the form of a humanoid in order not to scare people away. After the initial corruption of Bahamut's children, Haya became dormant until the heir to his spirit, Sielu, was born millennia later. Haya is known to be a bit of a jokester and often seems as if he doesn't take things as seriously as his brothers and sisters.

Keskiyön Siipi is an introverted, kindhearted woman who is the mother of Sielu and Sydän, adoptive mother of Terälehti, and wife of Sade. She adores her family more than anything else, though she also enjoys music, baking, and occasional DIY projects. As a teenager and young adult, she was an up-and-coming percussionist renowned for her precision and musicality. After losing both her parents and her sister in a short time frame, the pressure of being in the public eye felt too much to handle and she retreated. Her children gave her a renewed sense of hope and purpose, and there is absolutely nothing she wouldn't do for them even as now-adults. She is killed in Misterica's fall.

Iiriksen Sade is a violinist, vocalist, and luthier. In addition, he is Siipi's husband, Sielu and Sydän's father, and Terälehti's adoptive father. The middle child of a large agricultural family, Sade ended up being introverted and a hater of crowds. Despite this, he is a kind man and devoted wholeheartedly to his family. There is nothing he wouldn't do for his kids, even including being loud if he absolutely must. He is killed in Misterica's fall.

Oranssi Lento is a bubbly, energetic, fiery woman who's a childhood friend of Sielu and Sydän. Well-versed in various art forms, she can often be found doing odd jobs and performing gigs at random. After Sielu and Sydän moved into the palace, she and Terälehti became extremely close. She helps him care for Kataja as her other loose parental figure. She is killed in Misterica's fall.

⚡️+📚🎼 What are you currently most afraid of?
Tumblr media
⋯✧・♪♫♪・✧⋯ It's not a question he wants to answer but those aren't the rules of the game. He has to answer and he hates it. What's he afraid of right now? Lots of things. Losing Sielu. Fading before him. Someone getting hurt. Pilvi being alone. Voltaire. Even if he's got his own claws in on that beast, Voltaire still sits at the top of the fucking list.
He can still remember the day they met. He'd gone out with Sielu and they had gotten good at stealing what they didn't have the money to buy. Their mist is a dangerous combination when they don't have to worry about casting it on each other. What is a poor soul supposed to do when Sielu can slow them down to a near halt and whatever screaming their victim should be doing was stripped away by his own breath?
They were unstoppable.... or ... so they thought. They thought until heavy footsteps that shook the ground thudded into the bazaar and an even deeper sounding voice echoed "Hello Boys" A voice echoed when his own mist was covering the expanse of the area. It shouldn't have been possible but here this thing with the fact of a lizard or a dragon was looking down at them while it took in their mist through deep heavy deliberate breaths.
He can remember because he can remember what it felt like to be unable to move so clearly in his mind. There were a bunch of words said he couldn't understand at the time but he soon would learn in coming months just exactly what that beast's intentions were. He can remember Sielu putting his hand into his own and pulling at him as hard as he could. Pulling so hard until he yanked him out of his trance and forced him to run.
What else were they supposed to do? They didn't know what else to do at the time. All they could do was run like two frightened mice caught by the biggest cat they'd ever seen and that was exactly what they did. They ran. Ran until they were pulled into a building unexpectedly and promptly told to shut the fuck up and stay silent.
They had to stay there for hours until the sun fell and rose again. No way to get back to Sydän to tell her what happened until the following morning. The feeling of the fear coursing through his veins that day has never left him. Even when they learned that beast's name. Even when they found out what that beast was. Even after every single time that fucking thing found them and ultimately chased them out of town.
Even after they fought. Even after Voltaire nearly killed him. Even after he managed to take the beast's eye as penance for that. Even when he would run into the beast after losing Sielu...and Sydän. Even after all of it - what shakes him now is that beast tracking him back to everyone else.
To Sielu and Valo and Aamunkoitto and Revon and... Pilvi.
He doesn't want that monster anywhere near his family. His husband and his nephew and all the rest.... Fucking Mist Eaters.
Bahamut had to be the devil for ever creating such a thing. They all can burn for all he cares. Never could he imagine the concept of a Soil Soul so vile. Fucking Mist Eaters.
That monster has nearly made a meal of him too many times to count and he swears on his life, he'll never give it the chance to ever do so again.
