I have no idea if this has already been done(I assume not since I was scrolling through your posts) but what about a Topaz or Jade!Yuu? Either one is fine!

So if usually when I have to choose between two characters, I usually just do both but if one of the characters has already been requested with someone I'll do the other since there's no one request jade and topaz I'll do both

𝐓𝐖𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐙!𝐘𝐔𝐔 🐖🪙

Topaz is the Leader of the Special Debts Picket Team and high-level manager of the Strategic Investment Department under the Interastral Peace Corporation. A member of the "Ten Stonehearts" at a young age, Topaz's foundational expertise is "debt retrieval." Her partner, the Warp Trotter "Numby," is also capable of keenly perceiving where "riches" are located, ensuring that jobs based in security, debt collection, and actuarial varieties are of no great challenge. At presently they are traveling the cosmos together, seeking all manner of liability disputes that might be affecting the stable progression of the IPC's businesses.

Manages the finance of nrc, always could be seen with a note pad or a clip board calculating the finance of the school for Crowley not to mention help him calculate the school taxes because he's unable to do basic math.

Approaches everything in nrc like a business venture. Whether it's securing better living conditions at ramshackle or negotiating with vargas to lower PE requirements, they always have a strategy.

Constantly takes notes on people, labeling them by "risk level," "investment potential," and "market value" (to their frustration). Not to mention they would occasionally go around the School and calculate the market value of stuff, they are wondering why Crowley keeps some useless artifacts when he could auction it to get more funds for school.

When interacting with other students, topaz!yuu mentally calculates their “value.” “How useful would they be in a future deal?”, topaz!yuu assessment of their friends can be surprisingly accurate like how Riddle is a “great brand ambassador” or how Cater has “untapped influencer potential.”

Sam and Azul would seek their assistants as long topaz!yuu got a cut of the price, not to mention topaz!yuu would buy the most randomized things in Sam shop and resell it online with a higher price for their own personal money and it actually works

At school first opinion of numby was "What the hell is that" which hurt his feelings. Numby could always be seen with topaz!yuu following them around, assisting them with work or school or just for emotional support.

Sometimes when numby disappear and they would bring back treasure for topaz!yuu, this managed to catch the attention of ruggie and he would start to follow the warp trotter to get some treasure for himself.

Topaz!yuu excels at math people would already consider them to be a human calculator and manage to count complex equations within a second. Sometimes when the lessons become boring topaz!yuu would do some brain exercise counting stuff in their head.

Although topaz!yuu appears all business on the outside, deep down, they make investments based on loyalty and emotional connection. They’ll always back up their friends or team members, offering free magical items or advice without asking for anything in return—though they’d never admit it.

Topaz!yuu is like those types of kid who use their resources to trade stuff from other students, like a bag of oreos can be worth a pudding cup and an apple juice type of kid, they could be found trading some of their lunch for better so they don't have to spend extra for lunch.

A senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department and one of the Ten Stonehearts, known for her cornerstone "Jade of Credit." A cold and elegant moneylender, she is skilled at understanding the human heart, with a personal hobby called "Bonajade Exchange." She's willing to wait patiently for high-value acquisitions and adept at extracting value from seemingly destitute clients.

A puppeteer, jade!yuu is working as a manager for Crowley, leading them to have an upper hand over him so they could manipulate the school towards their own whim.

Do you guys know that one episode of nanno that she rent a room from the school and grants wishes for students no matter how big it is, that's jade!yuu basically but they will always seek for something as equal to value as the wish. They excel at understanding the desires and weaknesses of others, always seeking an opportunity to trade, negotiate, or use information to their advantage.

Jade!Yuu always have a larger plan in mind, both in terms of their academic endeavors and social interactions. They would often see the potential outcomes of situations before anyone else, and their subtle guidance could influence the choices of those around them. Whether it’s orchestrating complex schemes or navigating complicated friendships, Jade!Yuu knows how to play the long game.

They would have a particular interest in setting up profitable ventures, whether it's managing the finances of Ramshackle Dorm, organizing events, or offering magical services that people can’t resist. Their financial knowledge and ability to bargain would make them a formidable opponent in anything involving resources or trade. But In return they always seek as an equal value towards the wish.

Unlike Azul whose wish making could only reach the school grounds, jade!yuu ability to grant wish is much bigger you want your family name to be bigger and sign a deal with jade!yuu and the wish will be granted their ability is on a larger scale. They would act as a manager or consultant for other students, offering tips on everything from enhancing personal style to perfecting their magical abilities. Their network would be impressive, though they keep their cards close to the chest, rarely showing their true intentions.

They could easily be a behind-the-scenes orchestrator, pulling the strings to help others, but always with the intention of gaining something in return, whether it’s a favor, knowledge, or leverage.

Azul would try to crack them but impossible, jade!yuu seems to be able to predict his moves without issues. And when a group of rally students are unsatisfied with the outcome of the deal is trying to beat up them, jade!yuu would summon their pet snake to deal with them. Many rumors say that jade!yuu snake is also an exchange they got.

Just to be warned there will always be a price, jade!yuu would want something that is equal price as the wish you ask for them so when you fall, you will fall hard. A student wishes to be great at everything soon loses dies everything and is forced out of nrc, this is the consequence of their deal.

"I would believe it is, yes."

Yuu and Malleus stare at their grandmothers as they sit down under the shade of one of the trees in the courtyard.

"Child of Man."

"Hmm?"

"Is this normal?"

"For my grandma? Yeah. She does this very often with her own friends." She looks at him. "Can you hear what they're saying?"

"I can."

"Is it good?"

They both pause as Topaz and Maleficia start laughing at whatever Topaz just said.

"Believe it or not, I've never heard my Grandmother laugh before."

"So this is new?"

"Very."

The older ladies continue to talk, obvious to the smiles their grandchildren send their way.

I like playing hsr-- as my irls say, im a bit of a grind/build player. I can attest to that, because no joke-- i spent an entire year just grinding and farming for materials for my characters. So you could say that im a bit well versed in how these characters work and run and tick. Of course, when you have two obsessions, its kind of inevitable that youd smash them together like dolls so--

Gojo Satoru:

For Gojo—as a unit, i wanna say that hes either the strongest unit currently or some kind of nuts shielder. Its an either or because duh. Bruv is Quite Literally The Strongest and Quite Literally Untouchable.

If were going with the former, aka the strongest—id say that he would be what is currently considered the meta, which is Acheron. I dont have an Acheron, but my friend does and she lent me her account so i can build her Acheron and other units and LET ME TELL YOU. HOLY SHIT. Even unbuilt, Acheron hits like a motherfucker dawg. Its genuinely crazy. Her Technique as well (heh) also lets her oneshot almost anything which is also inline with how he works. Jeez, i should probably go back to building her account...

If were going with the latter, aka nuts shielder ala Infinity, i was thinking either Fu Xuan or Aventurine—but settled on Fu Xuan as it filled out more of what Gojo could do. While she does actually take damage, as she directs damage to herself, she heals it all back which honestly?? Amazing symbolism for Gojo tbh—considering the fact that hes the most important figure in Jujutsu society, everyone would be fucking gunning for him man. And he'd just as easily bounce back and brush it all off with a quick smile and Purple. And speaking of purple—esteemed colleague, that is Just Her Ultimate.

But yeah—Gojo would be either Acheron or Fu Xuan, depending on what aspect of him were focusing on.

Geto Suguru:

I'm gonna admit—this one was a little hard for me because who tf uses summons. And then it hit me.

Dear lord, my boy is just Topaz. Or Jing Yuan. LMAO—

Makes sense tho mechanically—Geto's technique is all about summoning curses to fight. Either for him or with him. Its just that the choice between Topaz and Jing Yuan capitalizes on what sort of fighting styles Geto wants to use. Topaz is more reliant on Numby doing damage, while Jing Yuan can do damage on his own without the help of Lightning Lord. This means then that Topaz is if Geto wants his curses to fight for him, and Jing Yuan is if he wants to fight with his curses.

Also the fact that I considered Sushang for him just because she summons a giant fucking chicken for her ult is. W o w .

Shoko Ieiri:

Dawg. To be honest with you. I think this is gonna be the hardest one for me to typecast unit wise. Because like—Shoko is a heal bot fr fr. And like—thats literally all the Abundance characters man. I CANT JUST SAY "shes every Abundance character" AND CALL IT A DAY. I mean I CAN but I WONT because I have STANDARDS. So I suppose I'll knock off the ones she can't possibly be unit wise.

Bailu is an Instant No. If she can bring people back from the dead Bailu style, JJK would be a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. and YEAH YEAH the Gojo/Yuuta thing is different—Gojo was already super dead, she just transferred Yuuta to Gojos body my guy. Not Gallagher, since w've never seen her in a combat situation and we have no idea what pure RCE can do to a curse—and before you say im wrong, nuh uh dawg—youre thinking about Reverse Cursed TECHNIQUE. I'm talking energy. The two are very different. Thats like saying putting the car in reverse is the same as using diesel instead of gas. Luocha is also a no go since, if she can just cast a Simple Domain that heals everyone in range, JJK would be a completely different story. And, as much as this pains me to say it—she cant be Huohuo either, because if her healing people would also replenish their CE, JJK would be a different story—at the very least with more people alive in it lmao

And so. This leaves us with our F2P basic units. Lynx and Natasha. Which... honestly? Its weirdly fitting and cathartic in a strange sort of way. Its guaranteed they'd be there to help because you receive them as units early on in the game—just as guaranteed that Shoko would be there to help and heal any and all sorcerers who come to her. All units need healing, in any way shape and form—without em making sure our teams our alive, we quite literally cannot get thru half the content of the game. I would know, that friend DID NOT build any of their sustains. Constantly fighting for my life until I built Gallagher lmao.

But yeah—unit wise, it does fit. They both mainly are there to give healing and basic support to the units, without drastically buffing them or debuffing their opponents. Theyre just there to make sure the team is alive, and honestly? 🫡 you go babe. heres a free cigarette, on me.

Nanami Kento:

Immediately I knew what the fuck I wanted him to be. Break effect character. Aka, current meta. So, obviously he'd be Boothill and Robin right?? Well—not exactly...

He'd deffo be Boothill thats for sure, but not so much Robin. Nanami's powerset is pretty simple—he focuses on a target and then, depending on his goal and/or amount of cursed energy, proceeds to put a weak point on them of which to hit. He can't be Robin because of how she works—she needs to transform via Ult to deal that optimal break damage and strike weak points despite whatever shes facing not having a fire element weakness. Whereas Nanami can just hit, without needing to transform into something else or needing a cursed tool or something.

For a little bit there, I considered Xueyi but ulimately said no because of her follow up and her being able to attack multiple enemies at once. While yes, I can flavor the follow up as a black flash or something (even though i really shouldn't since black flashes are based off luck and "being in the zone"), the multiple targets thing I really couldn't ignore because we've never seen him attack multiple targets at once—the closest thing we have is him being fast enough and strong enough to one shot curses back to back.

I was left with Sushang and Luka at this point, and ended up with Sushang. I was already settled with Sushang, when I remembered that Luka existed lmao—but decided to give him a shot anyways. I shouldn't have given him that shot because he doesn't fit Nanami as a unit. He's a Nihility "charge" unit—charge in the sense of, he needs to build up a certain stack to properly break and deal damage. When you relate that to Nanami, it doesn't work. Like I said, Nanami is simple and straight-forward, no muss and no fuss. There's a lot of mussing and fussing around with Luka that doesn't mesh well, along with the whole debuff thing Nihility has going—Nanami doesn't do that kind of DOT damage in the series, and doesn't deal too much of a handicap that I could consider it.

Nanami being Boothill and Sushang makes sense to me too. Nanami is a relatively fast person, being able to kind of run on water, fend off dozens of curses at the same time whilst taking minimal damage, and keep up with a Mahito that transformed himself into being really fast, and hits hard—both with the boost and assistance of his technique and without it. Like—he canonically killed Haruta 6 times. Were it not for his Luck Technique, his skull would've been pulverized by the first punch.

Boothill and Sushang's entire deal is to hit hard and hit fast—or at the very least, stay ahead of their opponents in the turn order via Break—Weakness, Super, or otherwise. Boothill's mechanics are a little more complicated than Sushang's but they're relatively simple and tracks with how Nanami works—he can force element weakness (Nanami's CT), hits really good and really hard to those he's focused on/appiled weakness on (nanami's CT again), and is able to clear out multiple enemies at once/inquick succession despite being a single target focus due to how strong and fast he is (nanami's CT and fighting style in general). Sushang's mechanics are much more barebones—she hits hard and she hits fast, which is basically the essence of Nanami in battle.

Haibara Yuu:

Motherfucker dude, this one is EASY—my boy is OBVIOUSLY Pompom. BUT NO WAIT IM BEING FR THO—we barely see him in both the manga and the anime, and I even looked up whether or not he's a playable unit in JJK Cursed Clash or JJK Phantom Parade. He's not there dawg. He's literally just the mascot—😭😭😭 UGYFHBKSFSBHVDVKFHKSD

And as much as I'd love to make assumptions abt his technique and how he works—aka theorize abt the meaning of his name, make educated guesses with the short screentime he had, I don't think I can make a good guess or assumption on how he works.

So yeah. He's Pompom, he's an NPC KHDFJHGSIDKFX—

For the longest time, Yuu felt the most comfortable in tight, dimly lit areas. It needed to feel soft to the touch on all sides, a bit of noise that felt out of place for how low it was yet filled the room. Her dad would tell her — when she was a baby — at times the only way to make her stop crying at night was to take her out of the bassinet and lay her on his chest as he continued working. His heartbeat, the sounds of nature from the open window. The faint glow of his screen and the stub of a cigarette on the windowsill lulled her to sleep in seconds.

She remembered only one dream from her childhood. It was dark, the sound of water dripping in the distance. She was laying on something soft, a cushion that held her entire body. Then something picks her up, holding her easily as she's lifted higher in the dimly lit room. Yellow lights look down on her fondly, and that's all she remembers.

The youngest Shroud boy crying was a rare sight, one that was by equal measure unwelcomed and disheartening in Crowley's opinion.

He could only feel pity, anger, heartbreak, as the small caster cried. His face buried in the feathers of a far too tired dire beast. In fact, everyone in the room was too tired. A truth that only shed further misfortune on them…

Looking around, Crowley saw the youth he was to lead and protect by his own choice scattered in the bleak safety of his home. The Shroud’s area had been the newest to fall to the ever growing darkness of their lands. Thick and viscous, thorny vines that ensnared many an innocent beast and loved ones alike.

He watches in silence as Diamond finally works up the energy to stand, appearance disheveled and marked by faded bruises. His stride was offbeat, limping to Ortho before dropping to his knees and gathering the sobbing boy into his arms. 

Crowley turns away, seeing Diamond's shoulders start to tremble.

Clover was tired, exhausted even, topaz pupils almost glowing from behind the dark outline clinging to the skin around his eyes, “Crowley, we can't keep this up…”

Casting a look behind him, Clover couldn't hide the distress in his gaze. His two younger charges, Trappola and Spade; younger compared to the former three that finished up their group but seasoned fighters in their own right. Each laid still, bodies covered in dirt, blot, and the shimmering ichor their kind bled. They were alive, blessedly enough. But they couldn't risk their lives day in and out, they were slowly becoming sloppy. Clover and Diamond feared one day they'd leave their small — ever growing smaller — safe haven and not come back…

Clover looked away from them, pinning Crowley with a hard stare, “Ace and Deuce still aren't to their full potential. R-...Riddle was only letting them tag along with Cater and me on recon missions before he… We in good faith keep sending them out alone to handle blot monsters…none of us can…We…Jade's contacted me…he almost lost Floyd some time ago.”

We can't keep holding on like this. It was unspoken, but said so many times Crowley feared he was growing deaf to it.

Heaving a sigh, he closed his eyes and looked up the stairs of his root-infested home, the thick branches curving in intricate designs along the ceiling and walls. The swirls converge to direct toward the locked weapons room, the cradle of his greatest creation.

“I had hoped we could resolve all of this…peacefully. But I fear the others are too far gone for us to aid them now. All we can do is put them to rest from their madness.”

Clover tried to speak over him, opening his mouth in protest only to flinch as Diamond finally let out a choked sob at Crowley's words. When he turned back, he noticed the elder was already at the top of the staircase, waving his hand in a show of magic to open the doors.

Taking the steps two at a time, he took the moment to look around the room in brief awe when he walked through the doorway. A weapon of magic and might was crammed into every corner and laying unused on tables. The faded memory of sitting patiently at the table pressed against the grand circular window overlooking the once vibrant valley, watching as Crowley weaved complex spells and metals to craft his mallet. A sorrowful memory of standing with Cater at his side, smiling as Riddle excitedly took his newly created axe into his small hands.

“Clover, come here.”

He was beside Crowley in an instant. Looking at the table covered in a deep indigo cloth, numerous gems, trinkets, and smaller weapons were tucked into a dark corner before them. Trey couldn't help but blink his eyes in surprise at the beautifully embroidered chest sitting on the cluttered space. The chest was clearly an item of Crowley’s, deep blue in its main body with metal fastenings of gold on each edge and corner. He could even see a number of tiny iridescent pearl necklaces half hanging from the closed lid. But, on top of the chest, snoozing away as though all was well, was a dire beast with a striped ribbon around its neck. A cat if he remembered the name properly. But it was…big. Clearly already bonded to a weapon and a powerful one at that. Even asleep it seemed to ooze an aura of intimidation from its place atop the mysterious box.

Crowley only huffed at the creature, face pulled into displeasure at the sight. With one hand, he quickly picked the beast up by its ribbon collar and moved it haphazardly off the chest and onto the table.

With its own huff of annoyance, the beast shook itself awake to level a glare at Crowley. A gem was tied to its collar, the stone void of color only to flicker blue briefly before its ears flared up in flames of the same color, “What's the big idea on waking me up!?”

“It can speak!?” Trey shouted, eyes wide in shock and awe as he took a step back from the table. A dire beast so powerful it could speak the same tongue as them was unheard of. Turning to Crowley, he struggled to string his thoughts together, “Crowley, what is this? What weapon is this beast linked to?”

“Hey! My name is Grim!”

“A mirror.” Crowley smiled at the chest with fondness, gold-tipped hands caressing the top of it lovingly, “A weapon I had crafted nearly at the beginning of this mess to be our ultimate tool. A weapon that has the ability to create another from nothing, in any shape or form deemed necessary to ensure our victory. I had hoped…I would only need to use it on the reason for all of this…but he's grown too strong and we must use all we have…”

With a tap of his hand, a series of clicks sound from the chest. The lid popped up with a soft snap, a poof of glittering dust escaping the box and allowing Crowley to open it wider.

A black velvet pillow was all that greeted them. As time passed, Trey wondered if…the mirror was small. Or maybe it wasn't able to be seen by those who weren't wielding it? Maybe the beast decided who could see it…

“...Ah…” Crowley turned, meeting eyes with Trey and speaking just as the beast stared into the chest and yowled in confusion and distress at the lack of mirror inside, “It's missing.”

“...It’s what?”

Running water was the background noise to Yuu's teeth brushing, an overplayed pop song hummed at the back of their throat.

“Puppy! Puppy, come here; I need your help.”

Yuu spits into the sink, yelling back as she grabs a facecloth to wet in the still running water, “I'm covered in toothpaste!”

“Well, wipe yourself down and get in here!”

Already halfway through cleaning their face and hands, Yuu let out a loud groan before shutting the water off. The five-second walk from their cramped bathroom to the comfortably cozy living room was quick, moving beside her father as she watched him pick and stitch at a coat on one of his mannequins, “Yeah, dad?”

Crewel glanced at her briefly, stepping to the side to allow her to move closer to his project, “I need you to reach into this seam and smooth a layer inside down for me. I'm going to just stitch it down instead of having it mess up when I transport it…”

A quick and easy task, one Yuu had been performing since toddlerhood. A few minutes later, Crewel had tapped them on the thigh, a gentle signal that they could remove their hand. Watching their dad stitch the seam close, they couldn't help but marvel at the coat.

A pea-length coat made from almost shimmering short white fur, glittering in every slight movement made even from a single breath. Closed with three gold buttons and notch lapels that matched the fabric lining the inside of the coat. The inside was just as stunning; an ornate jacquard pattern of reds with her father’s signature stitched in white along the edge. The back cinching the coat into a more feminine framing with a red satin ribbon ran through gold corset loops and tied into a bow at the curve of the back.

They ghost their fingers over the fur, fighting the urge to feel the soft texture but knowing better, “The coat looks amazing. One of my favorites so far…” Yuu looked over to Crewel, raising an eyebrow as they elbowed him lightly, “Is it gonna be in the show?”

Sighing, Crewel put his pins and needles away, pulling a pair of glasses from a bin along with a comb and fine-toothed hair sheers. He starts moving over the coat with the comb and scissors to ensure not a single tuff was misaligned along the sleeves, “Well, she says it will be in the show. But we both know how Madame Sanat is. She says it'll be in the show but then decides as it’s about to go down the runway the design doesn't need the coat or the hat or the shoes-”

Taking a deep breath, Crewel signed again, staring at his creation with every ounce of exhaustion in him, “But, the plan is for the jacket to be in the show. She asked me personally to design for it, so maybe she won't be taken by the flights of fancy during the weekend.”

“You leave Thursday, right?”

“Thursday morning, correct. I'll try to make sure to do a grocery run before then.” He turned to Yuu, smiling as he gently caressed a hand against their cheek, “I'm sorry. I normally try to stay in town during your first week of school…”

Leaning into his hand, Yuu smiled back, shrugging in playful nonchalance, “It's no big deal. I'm a young lady after all. I even got through the first two days without being sent to the office for once.”

“I will admit. That part is impressive.” Crewel pulled on gloves, removing the coat from the mannequin to place it in a garment bag, “Thank you for doing your best to not get me called to your school as I was prepping for the show.”

Yuu rolled her eyes, “You sent me to school Monday saying if I got in trouble and pulled you away from working on the coat, you’d leave me back in the alley you found me.” They grabbed the reusable cup placed on the other side of the TV console, “Not my fault people are so easy to beat up.”

“Puppy.”

“What!? I've only punched in self-defense…” They sip at what they had thought was water, only to be met with the unpleasant mixture of the burn of alcohol and a mildly sweet taste hitting her mint-filled mouth and making her gag, “Ah!”

Crewel smiled lightly, taking his cup from her hands and looking at her from the corner of his eyes, “That's my wine, puppy…”

“It's like 11pm! Don't you have work in the morning!?”

“And you have school. Off to bed with you.”

Yuu rolled their eyes, groaning as they turned to walk into their bedroom, “Drink water!”

“Bed!”

Comfortably cramped and cozy was the staple of Yuu and Crewel's lives. Their bedroom cluttered with their personality and several iridescent fairy lights hanging from their loft bed. Climbing into the bed space, taking their extra-long charger cord with them, she made herself snug in her blankets and pillows. With their phone plugged in to charge through the night, they surfed along websites and apps as sleep slowly crept into their body. They could hear the noise of cars and the stray person outside their window slowly decreased the longer they stayed awake. Crewel had moved into the bathroom at some point, water running for some odd minutes before leaving to his own room across the hall separating them. Soon, for what seemed like an almost supernatural moment all was completely still and quiet.

Yuu felt their eyes drooping, blinks lasting longer and longer with each passing second. So when the light from outside their window changed from the warm-toned, burnt yellow street lights to an ethereal shimmery blue, they barely registered or had the energy to be amazed at the shift. The light and colors shifted, leaving shapes to dance and swirl along their walls and floors for nearly two minutes before they completely faded.

The lights had been beautiful, calming in a way they weren't entirely sure how to describe nor explain why they soothed them. As their eyes finally blinked closed in a deep sleep, Yuu made the mental note to check their phone tomorrow, already eager to see a video or an explanation for the glowing lights.

golden eyes glisten in the sunlight peeking through the curtains, the glow catching magenta locks within its embrace, framing his face. the dark hue staining his cheeks pales in comparison to the sight before you.

“yuu.”

i love you as one loves obscure things, secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

his fingers reach out, brushing the hair from your face, tracing a gentle line down your cheek before lifting your chin, locking your gaze with his.

“what’s this about?” a teasing glint flickers in your eyes.

i love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom but carries the light of those flowers, hidden, within itself, and thanks to your love the tight aroma that arose from the earth lives dimly in my body.

both of his hands find their place, cupping your cheeks, his fingertips tracing small, soothing circles. his head dips down, mere inches away, the ghost of his breath fanning against your lips.

a soft blush rises on your cheeks, and your heart races—a steady rhythm that fills your ears, threatening to skip a beat.

i love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.

he leans in, closing the gap between you, his lips pressing against yours. his hands slip around your waist, pulling you closer, as if he could melt against you.

you exhaled exasperatedly, coughing lightly to grab doppio’s attention. he jerks back, hands quickly leaving your waist, a flustered look crossing his face.

“s-sorry,” he stutters, that stupid blush returning to his face.

“doppi-chan, you’re way too good at this—looking like you’re actually in love with them!” a faint giggle comes from behind you, meloco’s voice cutting through the tension.

“who put the student council in charge of casting for this project again?” you ask, frowning as you step away from doppio.

“ver’s idea!” kotoka pops her head from behind the camera, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.

you roll your eyes, walking toward the eccentric girl, wanting to review the footage from the last few minutes.

doppio’s gaze never leaves you, his sigh heavy with the weight of something unspoken as he watches you talk with Kotoka.

“what’s wrong, lover boy?” the council president teases, narrowed eyes glinting with mischief.

“VER!” doppio exclaims, nearly falling out of the chair he was occupying. amusement flickers within ver’s eyes as he tilts his head toward the flushed boy.

“I—I WANT TO CONFESS TO YUU AFTER THE PREMIERE OF THIS PROJECT, BUT I DON’T WANT TO RUIN ANYTHING BETWEEN US, AND I JUST—MY FEELINGS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE AND—”

ver places a hand on doppio’s shoulder, silencing him with a gentle shush.

“take it easy, yeah? you might as well confess in front of the whole council while you’re at it.”

doppio’s frown deepens, but his voice falters.

“uhm… yeah..”

a small sneeze escapes you, kotoka blesses you quietly.

“i think someone’s talking about you,” she teases, poking your cheek with a playful grin.

you scoff, but inside, your heart is still fluttering—still thumping loudly from the moment you shared with a certain boy across the room.

“as if,” you mutter, your eyes drifting from the screen to doppio, who’s watching you with a quiet intensity.

three words echo softly, impossibly, in your mind.

That thought process was reflected in his features, how his shock slowly faded into despairing acceptance.

Idia didn't actually respond to her words, still averting his gaze from the girl. Years of self-loathing weren't going to be fixed by a minor conversation. She couldn't just reboot his code like that. Her words fell on deaf ears, and that much could be seen from his expression alone. "Y-Yeah...got it..."

Topaz first day as NRC’s librarian

Topaz has to deal with the shenanigans in the Library at the school.

Yuu had warned Topaz about what happens in NRC, but she honestly could not have been prepared for what she heard half way across the room. Despite trying to keep quiet, Riddle's voice echoes in frustration at something a crackling Floyd had said. She looks up to see Floyd run off with a book in his hands with a frustrated Riddle following behind him. Topaz had cleared her throat, causing the boys to stop in their tracks and look at her. She raised an eyebrow and said nothing, letting her actions convey what she wanted.

"A-Apologies, Ms. Nightingale!" Riddle straighten up and bowed.

"Hah...." Floyd made a face and tossed the book to Riddle. "I'm bored now."

"Floyd, apologize to her!"

"Sorry, or something." Floyd left the library as Riddle gawked at him.

"Floyd!"

Topaz sighed as he ran off after him. She hoping that the rest of the day would be uneventful and to the most part, it was. Students filtered in and out, greeting her respectfully less they face the combined wrath of Kassie and Yuu. But the last thing she was expecting was for her grand-daughter to cause the next eventful moment.

"You're shitting me."

Topaz paused in putting the books back, looking down the shelves where she heard Yuu's voice.

"I can assure you, I'm not."

"Bullshit. It's not made up of that."

A chuckle. "You don't believe me?"

Topaz followed the voices and peered around the corner to see Yuu pinning a young man to the bookshelf. If she recalled correctly, his name was...

"Jamil." Yuu narrowed her eyes at the smirking young man.

"Yuu." He leaned in. "Don't you trust me?"

"Sneaky snake."

"Troublesome prefect." He kissed her, pulling her close and wrapping his arms around her.

Yuu returned the kiss, hands resting against his chest before they move up to tangle in his hair. Topaz waited a few seconds before clearing her throat, causing the couple to spring apart.

"Anywhere but here, please." She smiled.

"Yes Ma'am/Sorry, Grandma."

She had something to at least share at dinner tonight.

Jade Leech was used to being feared.

He had never minded the fact though. No, instead he and Floyd used their fearsome appearances to their advantage in scaring other merfolk, and when they were feeling especially daring, humans going for a swim. They loved nothing more than playing pranks on anyone they could.

Sometimes they would ghost around humans, brushing across their legs to strike fear. Sometimes, they would spook them by showing them their razor-sharp teeth. The twins found great enjoyment in playing around with humans, watching them try to run as fast as they could back on land, yet still clumsily stomping in water and unable to gain speed with water resistance.

On one such occasion, Jade spotted a human child close to his age, alone at a secluded beach when he was swimming along the coast. The curious child was humming a pleasant tune while picking seashells, sea glass and any other item that they deemed worthy.

With how focused they were, they were a perfect target for Jade to play with. He swirled around them, occasionally brushing against their legs in fleeting touches. Instead of panicking or screaming in fear like he expected they would, they started to giggle and thrash around, dropping their collection of trinkets as they clenched at their sides before eventually falling backwards from losing their balance. They let out a squeal, eyes clenched shut as they braced themselves for the impact.

On instinct, Jade caught them before they could fall backwards completely, cradling them in his arms without realising how close the two of them were. The child opened one eyelid, uncertain as to what exactly happened, and once his mismatched eyes came into eyesight, their other eyelid opened immediately to fully gaze upon the orbs so alike amber and topaz.

"Beautiful..."

They whispered.

Jade was taken aback by the child's compliment, eels weren't beautiful like mermaids. No one had ever told him that his eyes were beautiful before, maybe they were pranking him back? But looking at their big, bright eyes and their face of awe, he didn't think they was lying.

"Uh, thanks," Jade said quietly, suddenly feeling a little shy.

The child gasped, their eyes lighting up. "You can talk!" they exclaimed. "And your fins look so pretty too! And your teeth!" they gently placed their hand on his cheek, trying to get a glimpse of his sharp teeth. "You're so cool!"

Jade felt himself blushing as the child continued to compliment him. He wasn't used to this kind of attention, especially from someone he had just met. Between the twins, Floyd was always the one who would get most attention with how expressive and impulsive he was. Jade, being comparatively composed, had less of a noticeable presence. His instincts were telling him to swim away from the child, but as he looked at the them, he felt a warmth seep into in his heart. They were so curious and genuine, and he felt that maybe, just maybe he could trust them.

"Thanks," Jade said again, smiling shyly. "That's really nice of you to say." And as he was greeted by an even brighter smile, he couldn't help but want to learn more about the curious human.

As days went by, Jade found himself visiting the same spot every day to see if the child was there. Similarly, the child would return to their spot whenever they could in hopes of seeing the mysterious sea creature. He would bring them gifts from the sea, adding to their collection of seashells and trinkets, and they would bring treats like rice balls and cookies from land, admiring his teeth when eating. He particularly loved the mushrooms inside the rice balls, and found himself wanting to learn all about them.

Jade would continue to tease his new friend, but rather than scaring them, he would blow bubbles in their face or tickle them and wrap his tail around them. The child would playfully swat at him, and tickle him back until the two of them were gasping for air, sitting at the shore enjoying each other's company.

Eventually, Jade introduced Floyd and Azul to his new friend. Floyd had loved meeting the human, squeezing them and poking at their cheeks. Azul meanwhile, was rather shy, and gifted the child with some seashells he had collected. The child was fascinated with the two merfolk, unable to resist petting Azul's tentacles and exclaiming their interest in him. While Jade did feel a bit jealous his human was showing so much affection, he secretly delighted in the fact that his portion of snacks were always larger, more plentiful. Rice balls with more stuffing, cookies with more toppings, or sandwiches with various mushrooms, and with how his human always reached out for him first, he found satisfaction in being their favourite.

As Jade began to realize that his dear friend was different from the other creatures of the sea, he found himself wanting to see them more often, to see them smiling brightly at them, eyes full of affection sparkling in the sunlight.

Once they were old enough, Jade had Azul brew a water-breathing potion for his human, but it did come at a price. Being friends with Azul did have its benefits though, as Jade only needed to convince a few poor unfortunate merfolk from Azul's past to make a contract with him.

His dear pearl had wanted to see their home, and who was he to deny them when they looked at him with eyes full of anticipation. Jade had warned them of the deep sea's dangers however, and made them promise they would not let go of him. While this statement was largely true, the other sea creatures wouldn't dare lay a finger on his human, not when he would watch over them, but he found it incredibly endearing when they clinged onto him.

They swam deep into the sea, where Jade showed his human the wonders of his world. The Coral Sea was a mysterious and alluring place, with its crystal-clear waters, teeming with a variety of marine life. The colours of the coral reefs were breathtakingly beautiful. As they swam along, they saw a dazzling array of marine life - schools of brightly coloured fish, graceful sea turtles, and even a majestic manta ray. Curious as ever, they would ask Jade questions about all things that caught their interest. Jade would patiently explain what he knew of the creatures, and when it was safe, he would let them pet some of them, delighting in the many expressions his dearest showed.

When the sea turned dark, they knew it was time to go home. As they made their way back to the shore, Jade felt adoration of his dearest swell in his chest, wanting to never let them go. His pearl, as if having read his mind, snuggled into his hold, leaning up to give him a gentle peck on his cheek, murmuring a 'thank you' for showing them his world.

Before they had to part, Jade handed them an elegant bracelet, made of their favourite sea glass and coral, which he had carefully strung together to make the perfect gift for his beloved. His pearl smiled ever-so brightly and thanked him, admiring the intricacy and beauty of the bracelet, clutching it to their chest. To his surprise, they handed him a simple bracelet of their own, with pieces of amber that resembled his piercing eyes and little mushroom charms, made to last in the rough sea. Feeling his heart swell even more, he held out his hand, and his pearl gently tied it on his wrist, to which he reciprocated the action. Raising his wrist up to admire it, the amber piece glowed beautifully, lit up by the sunset's soft rays.

"Beautiful..."

He heard his love say again, turning to gaze at them, he noticed they weren't staring at the bracelet, but him. He smiled fondly, and gently cupped their cheek, his heartbeat racing as they leaned into his touch, melting. He slowly inched closer, and gently placed a kiss on their cold lips, and it seemed that all was right in the world as they reached up to tangle their fingers in his hair.

He wondered if his dearest knew it was merfolk culture to exchange gifts as a courting ritual, and how it would tie two individuals together. Either way, he could never let go of them, for he now regarded them as his mate. He knew that life with his beloved pearl would always be full of laughter and fun, and he couldn't imagine it any other way.

Neige LeBlanche does have a few trademarks in his look— his hair as dark as ebony, skin as white as snow, and lips as red as blood are the obvious ones, of course. But his soft brown eyes, sweet boy-next-door fashion sense, his black beret with its red bow and the red garnet brooch he’s somehow able to pair with any outfit are also key features!

His dwarf friends have brooches of their own, of course! Dominic’s is set with an opal, Gran wears a emerald, Sherpy usually has his hand on his sapphire if he dozes off, Hop loves showing off his topaz, Timmy is very cautious with his ruby, Snick attaches his spinel brooch to his neck warmer, and Toby bears an amethyst!

Yuu does have some suspicions about how these jeweled brooches might be connected to their ability to transform into White Neige and his team, but they haven’t been the most active about pursuing them. They wouldn’t want anyone exposing their fedora either, so they can return the favor here.
