Hrmm... Revising my game and I feel like there's still sooo much writing left to do, for something that probably won't even amount to much, so.. I do want to narrow my focus more (especially given my health problems seeming to get worse/less energy the past few years), but I'm not sure how would be best to...
I currently have 5 characters as the Main ones with full planned questlines and such, with each character having 6 quests you can do for them. But I haven't really started the writing for the 5th main character. So then I was thinking, if I were going to write 6 full quests worth of content anyway... is it better to allocate that time on just doing a Complete 6 Quests for ONE single character, OR would it be better to do something like.. choose THREE side characters and do 2 quests for each of them? So that people have a wider variety to interact with and sort of sample around (of course with the idea that, once the first version of the game is released, IF people actually care about it enough to make it worth the effort, I would then add additional content to complete those 3 characters stories as well)
-
SO... If you were playing an interactive fiction sort of game centered around talking to & doing quests for a cast of characters (like there's no larger plot, more it's just about interacting with people, every character kind of has a self contained story, the focus is just learning about them and the world and exploring the area) --- Which would you rather have?
(and of course it would be stated up front which characters have only partial questlines, so people don't expect them to have full quests like the others and then get disappointed, or etc. etc.)
Basically, is it better to just focus in specifically on having one fully complete questline? Or for there to be a few stories that are not complete yet, but have more initial options available?
#I guess I just feel weird about investing too much into characters if possibly nobody will like them. so the idea of being able to sample#around a wider variety opens up the option of like 'hey even if neither of these 4 are your favorite - you have 3 other options soon too!'#or whatever. BUT I also am very anti-the trend of releasing half finished games or shit like that where people preorder and then#the game sucks on actual release and isn't fully playable or good until 5 updates later#HOWEVER.. those are giant companies with hundreds of employees and millions in funding. I feel like it's different for someone#if they're just like ''hey I am getting zero money for this and doing it entirely on my own in my free time and before I do like 50+ hours#of work on top of the 100+ hours of work that I already did - I would like maybe to at least see some proof#people are interested in this - so I'm releasing the game with like a small amount of the originally intended content removed#that I still have planned out and hope to add later and the game is still entirely done and completely functional#except for just a few quests I might add later.. sorry'' etc. etc. ??? like I think that's different. but maybe some people dont see#it that way and would still be like 'grrr.. how dare there be unfinished options..>:V" idk#And the nature of the quests is such that it's not weird to have it be partial like.. again.there's no major plot. it's not like the quests#are leading up to some dramatic thing and having them half done would make it feel like a cliffhanger. It's meant to be very casual just#chilling and doing little tasks and such. And last thing to clarify I guess - by 'side character' I don't mean taking some unimportant bac#ground character and forcing them to have quests. I mean like.. originally the game had 8 full characters and I thought that was#too much so I cut it down to 5. So I still had everything planned for all the side characters too. Id' just be like.. re-giving them#quests and focuses that were already planned from the beginning but that I got rid of.. former main characters banished to the side lol..#ANYWAY... hrmm... hard to decide... It's just so niche I think. I feel more and more like I should just get it to a 'proof#of concept' state and get it out there to interest check rather than invest in it soooo much for nothing. Because I really do not have the#tastes other people do or interact with games or have interest in things in the same way. A lot of the stuff that I love (slow. character#focused things with basicaly no action or plot where its' just about getting to explore a world and learn about#people in a casual low stakes setting but ALSO not romance) I think people find very boring so... lol...#This year as I try to pick the project back up again after abandoning it for like 3 years I keep looking at stuff and going.. ough...#yeah... cut this maybe.. I should cut that too.. I should make them a side character.. remove this.. blah blah..#Though I did ADD a journal and inventory system and other things that like People Expect Games To Have so.. maybe#that will count for something.. hey..you can collect items.. it's not just 'talking to elves for 600 hours simulator'.. are you#entertained yet? lol.... When I was making my other tiny game for that pet website and I gave it to the play testers and someone was like#''it should have achievements so I feel I'm working towards something concrete'' I was literally so blindsided like..??... people WANT that#in games..? is the goal not simply to wander aimlessly &fixate on world/character lore& make your own silly pointless personal goals? I did#do them though because it IS fun to make up little achievement names and such but.. i fear i am out of touch so bad lol..

i still think as interesting as security breach's story is, it should've been a more standalone story instead of trying to be a sequel to pizza simulator. because pizza sim would've been the best sendoff for the main fnaf storyline with that fucking ending monologue. but steel wool really wanted those fan theorist points and money. and then ruin comes out and it very much doesn't continue on the fact it's supposed to be a pizza sim sequel, it's practically it's own standalone free game. it's weird.

In light of recent developments, while I absolutely believe that EA have contributed to the mess that is current day BioWare, I think it's important to not just ignore BioWare's actions as a company and how that has contributed to this entire mess. The last few years have indicated that they have major problems internally with how they manage their workplace. EA is a predatory, vile company that chokes out creativity and treats their developers and customers like trash - you will not catch me defending them - but the news coming out in the past few years has not painted BioWare in a good light at all.
BioWare, as a company, from everything that has come out from ex-developers and interviews, has cultivated a toxic work culture that deserves scrutiny - that needs scrutiny. They don't value their creatives, they don't value their customers, and they think that 'BioWare magic' is an acceptable development mindset, never-mind the strain it puts on their staff.
Perhaps most alarming, it’s a story about a studio in crisis. Dozens of developers, many of them decade-long veterans, have left BioWare over the past two years. Some who have worked at BioWare’s longest-running office in Edmonton talk about depression and anxiety. Many say they or their co-workers had to take “stress leave”—a doctor-mandated period of weeks or even months worth of vacation for their mental health. One former BioWare developer told me they would frequently find a private room in the office, shut the door, and just cry. “People were so angry and sad all the time,” they said. Said another: “Depression and anxiety are an epidemic within Bioware.” “I actually cannot count the amount of ‘stress casualties’ we had on Mass Effect: Andromeda or Anthem,” said a third former BioWare developer in an email. “A ‘stress casualty’ at BioWare means someone had such a mental breakdown from the stress they’re just gone for one to three months. Some come back, some don’t.” 'How BioWare's Anthem Went Wrong, Kotaku
"Depression and anxiety are an epidemic within BioWare" -> and yet, they didn't look to fix this. Instead they kept course, trying to make that 'BioWare Magic' work.
Among those who work or have worked at BioWare, there’s a belief that something drastic needs to change. Many at the company now grumble that the success of 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition was one of the worst things that could have happened to them. The third Dragon Age, which won Game of the Year at the 2014 Game Awards, was the result of a brutal production process plagued by indecision and technical challenges. It was mostly built over the course of its final year, which led to lengthy crunch hours and lots of exhaustion. “Some of the people in Edmonton were so burnt out,” said one former BioWare developer. “They were like, ‘We needed [Dragon Age: Inquisition] to fail in order for people to realize that this isn’t the right way to make games.’” Within the studio, there’s a term called “BioWare magic.” It’s a belief that no matter how rough a game’s production might be, things will always come together in the final months. The game will always coalesce. 'How BioWare's Anthem Went Wrong, Kotaku
This is the same company that fired 50 of their staff and gave them severance less than the industry standard - to the point where they had to sue to get what they deserved. Not to mention that these employees had NDA's that didn't allow them to show off their most recent work on Dreadwolf which would have hurt their ability to find new employment.
“In light of the numerous recent industry layoffs and the fact that BioWare’s NDAs prevent us from showing any of our recent work on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in our portfolios, we are very concerned about the difficulty many of us will have finding work as the holiday season approaches,” said one of the employees in the press release. “We are struggling to understand why BioWare is shortchanging us in this challenging time.” Seven Former Bioware Employees Are Suing the Company For Better Severence, IGN
The same company that on Dragon Age Day '24, released the Hawke Armour, passing it off to their players as a 'thank you' while the individual who worked on it was fired the same day.
Tumblr media
They don't treat their developers well. They don't value their creatives. They don't see the merits of providing their employees with the respect and work culture they deserve. They don't respect their customers, either.
I have a lot of issues with the marketing for DATV and how they tried to blindside their customer base about what was in the game. The biggest example being how vague they were about world states, considering how important that is too many returning players. That information was leaked - they intended for players to not learn this till the game was in their hands. There are a dozen other statements made in interviews from devs that are misleading, considering the game I played and what they said was in it. The company found this to be acceptable behavior and it is not - it is extremely anti-consumer.
I am not saying that every issue can be handwaved away as 'bioware's workculture' as being the cause either, but it certainly would not have helped. There are lots of valid criticisms made about decisions regarding the writing, the lore/story, characters, gameplay mechanics etc...These creative and design choices should be engaged with critically by both developers and fans so they can learn and adapt for the next time - we all want a good game. I cannot imagine it would be easy to hear criticism when you work in an environment that puts crunch on a pedestal - it's a lose lose situation for the devs and the fans. This company desperately needed transparency and to earn consumer trust back after everything that happened in the past ten years - pretending things are all good and fine, waving off criticism, only to have half your staff leave or be laid off does nothing to foster confidence in your studio. It only makes me think that you're likely hiding more bad news under what was already bad.
Also, way to reassure us that 'well, we may have let go of dozens of people but Mass Effect is still coming!'. An absolutely tasteless comment and one that should have been in a separate message and not the same one addressing your 'restructuring'.
"Today’s news will see BioWare become a more agile, focused studio that produces unforgettable RPGs. We appreciate your support as we build a new future for BioWare."
How about you shift to a studio that doesn't work its employees to the bone and throttle its creatives? How about you examine how your workplace culture led to an incredibly chaotic development cycle that led to so many of your talent leaving? What about addressing the concerns of fans of your games when we talk about our criticisms with the quality of work being put out?
EA is a dumpster-fire but BioWare only added fuel to the flames. I have a lot of hang ups with DATV, especially writing-wise, but it was an uphill battle from the start. Joplin, Morrison, Dreadwolf, Veilguard...this game floundered in development hell and hemorrhaged talent with every step due to mismanagement and poor decision-making. In a string of poor decisions, Veilguard was just the final domino that led to all these built up problems crashing down.
I wish the best for the developers and writers who find themselves without a job - I hope they find a studio that values their talents and creativity far more than BioWare did. Dragon Age remains a series dear to my heart and it always will be, and I'm extremely grateful for all the people who contributed to making it that way. It's just very sad that this series has to end with Veilguard and all this ugliness.
Tumblr media
Now that Veilguard is out, this feels like he was trying to warn us.

A very similar post could be made about maths education.
I feel like people can be overly harsh on it. People that struggle with it and find it boring go on to depict it as boring and abstract in media, which sort of primes the next generation to see it that way. But at the same time, we could be doing a lot more to help people connect the theorems and logical techniques they're learning to real life.
We use those techniques to work out the dimensions of (and materials needed for) a wall we're painting or garment we're sewing or the parts of a furniture piece so they can fit together. We use them to work out how much money we'd get through interest over X years if we save Y per month and can use that to compare the outcomes of different financial decisions. We use them to critique whatever new scientific study journalists are hyping up beyond its original conclusions. We use them in philosophy to check whether our arguments are genuinely airtight.
As a biology student it especially pains me how people are failed wrt statistics and the scientific method. Everyone should be taught things like what variance is, and what makes results statistically significant, and the effect of small sample sizes on the conclusions we can draw from results, and better societal understanding of those things (plus general principles of good experiment design)
And as someone who wants to not starve in the future, on top of the importance of teaching people maths so they can make proper financial decisions I feel like we should be taught more about investing. Actual long-term investment strategies that most people should follow to grow savings over decades, not YOLOing everything into Tesla.
When you understand that kids and teenagers being salty about literary symbolic analysis comes from a very real place of annoyance and frustration at some teachers for being over-bearing and pretentious in their projecting of symbolism onto every facet of a story but you also understand that literary analysis and critical thinking in regards to symbolism is extremely important and deserves to be not only taught in schools, but actively used by writers when examining their own work to see if they might have used symbolism unintentionally and to make sure that they are using symbolism effectively:

2025's Most Innovative IR Strategies for Attracting Global Investors
As the global economy evolves, attracting international investors has become both a challenge and an opportunity for companies. In 2025, the key to success lies in adopting innovative investor relations (IR) strategies that go beyond traditional approaches. With technology, data-driven insights, and creative communication tools at the forefront, businesses can build stronger relationships with global investors. Here are the most innovative IR strategies shaping the investor landscape in 2025.
1. Leveraging AI and Advanced Analytics
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing how companies engage with investors. AI tools analyze investor sentiment, track trends, and predict market behavior, enabling companies to craft data-backed strategies.
Investor relations advisory firms are now integrating AI into their services to help businesses better understand investor needs and communicate effectively. For instance, tools that personalize outreach based on investor profiles or highlight key concerns during earnings calls are becoming indispensable.
2. Interactive Virtual Investor Meetings
Virtual and hybrid meetings remain popular, but in 2025, interactivity is taking center stage. Companies are adopting immersive technologies like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to showcase their projects, ESG efforts, or financial performance in dynamic ways.
This innovation helps global investors visualize opportunities, fostering trust and interest. Top investor relations advisory firms are helping companies incorporate these technologies to enhance engagement.
3. Focus on ESG Communication
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives continue to be a major factor in attracting global investors. Companies that effectively communicate their ESG commitments and performance are more likely to gain investor confidence.
Innovative ESG reporting includes real-time dashboards, interactive infographics, and video presentations. Partnering with an investor relations consultant can ensure that your company’s ESG story reaches the right audience in the most impactful way.
4. Localized Communication for Global Reach
Localization is essential when dealing with international investors. Companies are tailoring their messaging to resonate with investors in different regions, considering cultural nuances, language preferences, and regulatory differences.
An investor relations advisor in Mumbai, for example, may guide Indian businesses in crafting communication strategies that align with both domestic and international investor expectations.
5. Social Media as a Strategic Tool
Social media platforms are becoming vital for global investor engagement. In 2025, innovative strategies include real-time updates, thought leadership posts, and interactive Q&A sessions with company executives.
Social media investor relations is especially effective for startups and mid-sized firms looking to expand their reach. Platforms like LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter) allow companies to showcase their achievements and connect with potential investors worldwide.
6. Utilizing Digital Marketing in Finance
Digital marketing is no longer just for consumer brands; it’s now a core part of IR strategies. Campaigns targeting investors through Google Ads, LinkedIn, and email marketing are helping companies reach specific investor groups.
By combining investor relations and digital marketing, businesses can build awareness, drive engagement, and secure investments more efficiently. Leading firms, such as the Best investor relations agency in Mumbai, specialize in merging these disciplines for maximum impact.
7. AI-Powered Investor Sentiment Analysis
Understanding investor sentiment has never been easier with AI-powered tools. These tools analyze feedback from earnings calls, social media, and news mentions to provide insights into how investors perceive your company.
Using these insights, companies can address concerns proactively and improve their communication strategies. Collaborating with the Top investor relations advisory firms ensures that these tools are effectively integrated into your IR plans.
8. Storytelling Through Data Visualization
In 2025, data storytelling is a powerful way to convey complex information. Interactive charts, infographics, and dashboards help investors quickly grasp key metrics and trends.
9. Building Stronger Online IR Platforms
A robust online presence is essential for global investor outreach. Investor-centric websites that offer easy access to reports, presentations, and real-time updates are no longer optional—they’re expected.
Leading firms like ConfideLeap Partners specialize in creating investor relations platforms that cater to global audiences, making it easier for companies to maintain transparency and credibility.
Conclusion
Attracting global investors in 2025 requires a mix of innovation, technology, and strategic communication. From leveraging AI to adopting ESG-focused approaches, the opportunities for companies to stand out are immense.

The Role of Top Financial Consulting Companies in Managing Investor Sentiment in Haridwar
Tumblr media
Markets are often driven by two powerful emotions, greed and fear. When investors are greedy, they chase high returns, which surges the valuation of assets. This "greed" can create a bubble, where prices soar irrationally. On the other hand, fear can grip the market, leading to panic selling and price declines. These emotional swings create volatility and make it difficult to predict the market. That's when top financial consulting companies in Haridwar can come to the rescue, like HaridwarMF.
The interplay of greed and fear is important to understanding the complexities of the market. However, these emotional swings can be problematic for individual investors. This is where qualified financial experts can provide support.
Investor's Emotions With Mutual Fund Flows
What Are Mutual Fund Flows?
Mutual fund flows represent the net movement of capital into and out of mutual funds. Inflows occur when investors buy fund shares, signaling optimism or confidence in the market. Outflows, on the other hand, reflect redemptions and suggest caution or fear.
Why Mutual Funds Reflect Investor Behavior?
Mutual funds represent the combined investment decisions of many different investors. Tell us about how the market is feeling. They show how people and companies react to things like economic news, what's happening in the market, and global events.
How do MFDs help during these times?
Managing Expectations: : Effective communication is key during periods of heightened market volatility. MFDs provide clear, data-driven analysis to investors and prevent knee-jerk reactions. Transparency about risks and opportunities helps build trust and builds long-term relationships. With the best broker for mutual funds in Haridwar, you can invest in those mutual funds that stay stable during the ups and downs of the market.
By monitoring sentiment trends, experts can make informed adjustments to portfolio allocations. For instance, during periods of excessive optimism, adopting a defensive strategy can cover risks. On the other hand, during pessimistic phases, investing in undervalued opportunities can help.
Conclusion
Investor emotions play a big role in how much money flows into and out of mutual funds. Investing with the help of an MFD can offer valuable support. They possess knowledge of the market and various investment options. By working with them, you can gain access to expert insights and a disciplined investment approach. This can help you stay focused on your goals and avoid impulsive decisions.
