4 very well behaved children. For the majority of the time they are really good kids, listening, getting good grades,and respectful. Until you make one of them angry, bc they will hold that grudge and with find a way to pull a fast on you; yet will they admit they're mad if you simply ask? No. They DO know how to forgive and they do to the people they love. Honestly Azul would be a very gentle parent because he has a soft heart and doesn't think his kids could do anything wrong, definitely the parent who will find some excuse for his kid.Don't get me wrong he knows where to draw the line like if their kicking someone's chair on an airplane. 2 boys and 2 girls, and he would never have it any other way(even if originally he was sort of scared of messing them up).

Jade Leech-

2 kids, two adorable little girls. His daughters were super calm children. When you two first brought your first home you were gald yet worried because she rarely cried throughout the night. All you could think is 'This is so jade's daughter'. Both of your kids are absolutely brilliant and catch on fast. Your 2nd daughter was very into photography and would snap pictures of family and her dad's mushroom garden.One father's day she gave her dad a photo album filled with pictures of him with his family (and his mushrooms & terrariums); he almost cried tears of joy. Jade loves to spoil his little girls, he tries to say no to them but they give him those sad, sad eyes and he just gives in. Very protective of your and your girls, you guys are the most important people in his life.

Floyd Leech-

6-10 kids, two words ; baby machine. He loves seeing you pregnant so he does it over and over again. The most chaotic dad to ever have, wanna egg the neighbors house? He'll help. Wanna troll local Walmart employees? You guys will get kicked out together. Wanna rustle with a good ol' dad in the mud? Let's do it!! To others he may seem like a horrible parent but his kids know he always means best and they love him. He hates parent-teacher conference, bc now he has to listen to some strange rant about his kid for 25 minutes; but the upside is if his kids do really well they get to treat them for whatever they want. He'll also get to be super proud!! He has at least 2-3 sets of twins only one of them is boy-girl, other(s) is boy-boy.

Kalim Al Asim-

9- whenever you tell him you don't want anymore kids!! This man wants a huge family like he had growing up. Most of his kids seem to be super happy go lucky like their dad. He has more self-control by the time he has kids so thankfully he isn't throwing parties everyday, but if his kids want to have one ; go all out!! (Just don't do anything illegal). All his kids are given unlimited cards by the age of 13, he wanted to do 7 but you said it was too young so he agreed on 13. His kids are the life of every party, you either really love 'em or really hate 'em. These kids are 100% either home-schooled or in a prestigious private school and have bodyguards for the obvious reasons being they are Asim kids they have constant threat someone will assassinate/kidnap them. But Kalim is a great dad and his kids love him!! I'm not gonna list all his kids but his first is a little girl <3

Jamil Viper-

2 kids, very strict. He is the first Viper in years to break the long line of servitude to the Asim family. It's hard to break out of certain habits but, although it made his kids super sneaky, it also made them work really hard to not have dad be disappointed. His kids are super smart and always on top of their class. Like their dad they are very talented, his daughter takes up painting and martial arts, and his son takes up spelldrive and culinary. Jamil may be strict but he is also a very proud parent, as his kids seem to always do amazing things. He does tell them when he's proud and tells them how great they're doing and how much he loves them. Lucky for them they also inherited his gorgeous hair.

(Note from me: In school, at the beginning of every class, the teacher says “guten morgen” (good morning) to the pupils and the whole class answers “guten morgen”. It’s kind of indoctrinated…)

Fan 1: I love Radio Company. When do you play a concert in Germany? Jensen: We’d love to. There has been some talking about a tour but we don’t have any plans yet.  Jared: But only if David Hasselhoff is the opener. Jensen and the whole crowd laugh) Jensen: I’d open for the Hoff! (Here starts the word-for-word script) Jensen: My favourite song from Radio Company? Oh. Oh, they’re all kind of uniquely special but um, I probably listen to either ”Quarter to” or “City Grown Willow” the most. (crowd cheering) Thank you.

Fan 2: Hi, my name is Pia and um me and my friend play Mario Kart a lot lately… Jared: Oh, on which system? Fan 2: On the switch.  Jared: Okay.  Fan 2: And we wondered what characters Sam and Dean would take in Mario Kart and how good they would be.  Jared: I know mine because I've been this character for all time and it's kind of appropriate. I'm Yoshi. (crowd cheering) Jensen: So I'm growing the ocean.  Fan: That's a good character.  Jared: Thank you. I know.  Jensen: Uhm, I’m the Shy Guy. Jared: Um, Who are y'all?  Fan 2: Um, I'm the King Boo, the ghost with the crown.  Jensen: King Boo, yeah.  Fan 2: My friend plays Rosalina.  Jensen: My daughter plays Rosalina. I'm gonna kick the shit out of her, so it's done. It's not good yet. Well, my eleven-year-old, however… She's she could beat me now. I don't like it. I kick her off the couch. (Makes a massive kick motion)  Jared: Thank y'all so much for your time.  Jensen: Thank you.

Jared: I wanted to say Dean meat Deanna, Deanna meet Dean.  Fan 3: I want to ask how your experience in Germany is so far and if you want to see something. Jared:  It's been fucking terrible. (audience laughs) Awesome. I love it. We've been able to meet some of our German fans over the years and they're always wonderful and kind and loving and it's always so funny. To think so. Part of my Heritage, my mother's father is 100% German so I'm 25% German.(audience cheers) I know a little German, he’s over there! His name is Franz… I’m sorry. Top secret joke. The movie Top Secret, not a secret. But uh, what time is it? It’s great to be here. I love it here, had a great time. Love it. I will come back anytime, y'all invite me? (audience cheers) Jensen: I've always had a good time here. Like a uniquely cool fun time when I come to Germany, haven't been in a few years so it's nice to come back. I haven't really had the opportunity to kind of explore the town walked around a little bit on Friday when I arrived, but Yeah. I’d love to love to turn this into more of a vacation date next time. So… Jared: Bring us back. Jensen: Definitely like to come back.

Fan 4: Good morning. First one. Uhm, did you borrow Dean’s leather jacket?  Jared: Dean’s leather jacket? No. Someone did. Someone borrowed Dean’s leather jacket. No. I didn’t. I certainly would give it giving it back to him. Jensen: No, I mean, you know, that jacket got stolen, right? Jared: Yes, yeah. Yeah.  Jensen: That’'s really sad cuz it was like, it was the one of a kind, the jacket that was picked out. It was only one of them, it was from Warner Brothers wardrobe lockup. So it was a vintage coat. And they mailed it from the center of Vancouver mailed it back down to LA… Jared: We went to do a photo shoot. Jensen:  We went and did a photo shoot and then it never returned. I mean, I don't know if somebody stole it or it just got misplaced or what but it was searched for quite a long time. It was never found. So we had just kind of getting rid of a jacket.  Jared: Yeah. Plus I sweat in t-shirts. So if went to anonymous and it’s something I could wear, but if I ever find it, I'm gonna take it back and give to this, dude. Fan 4: Yes, it was my idea.  Jared: I would love to. If anybody finds Dean’s leather jacket for sale on eBay or something. Please buy it and we'll reimburse you and everything. Yeah. Notify your authorities. Yeah.

Fan 5: My question is if you had a chance to reshoot an episode or assume, what would it be and if you want to change anything? Jared: To reshoot an episode or a season?  Fan 5: If you have a chance to be shooting an episode or a season.  Jensen: Bugs. Jared: Bugs. I don’t want to reshoot that with a bunch of bees. Jensen: We shot that and we changed that aspect. Jared: Right. Fair. Jensen: Not because they… they ended up using the bees, the live bees that we were having to work with. They didn't show up on camera. Jared: So they had a visual… Jensen: They had a visual professional, like, put 'em in, with the computer, which we could have from the get gun! 

Jared: Also, before we shot the episode with the bees and like you said, we had like 60 000 bees in that building with us in the room in the house or whatever and so a couple of weeks ahead when they were making sure we could do the episode, they were like, hey, we're gonna do a bee allergy test to make sure you're not allergic to bees like. Yeah, sure, cool. And so a couple of days later this guy shows up and he's like, hey, I'm here to give you a bee allergy test. I'm thinking it's like, you know, a swab or something like no, they have a little mesh guard and they put it on your arm and they take the bees with a tweezer and make the bees sting you. I was like, fuck this! No! Literally, you have this little kind of a sleeve on you and they grab a bee and put the stinger into you. That was strange for sure. You know, if I could reshoot a season it would be season four and I wouldn't change anything. I had a great time that year, not that obviously because I've met my wife but I love that season. I feel like if it was a dryer, like I just feel this great memory of that 2008 / 2009 season like I can still smell of winter and it was dry and it was it was crazy good time. So I'd like it back then. And also the house was there, you know, you and hired all. It just was really cool.

Only 2 short shippy prompts all month! All 4 modern girls got a couple spotlights, various family cameos and backstories, a future prompt as is tradition, Zaine had a few posts, a few NPC-only scenes, a LOT of Endwalker, and even Ancient Icarus got a story, tying into 2021's "Destruct" prompt and how/why the siblings' souls have been connected through time and reincarnations.

A few of these are alternate takes on scenes I've touched on before, but it's interesting what a new prompt at a different time can get one to say, how we change as writers in what we focus on and how we say it.

This comes in roughly 300 words shorter than last year, at 18,493. The week of the 18-22 I had off work for my birthday, and that had the most 1k+ prompts, with a word count nearly double the other 3 full weeks. While the longer prompts are good, I'm really happy with how so many of the short ones turned out!

I was again trying to be realistic about my time, energy, not pushing free write days...and also working on an original writing project on the side, so I actually did do more writing over the month, just not FFXIV related!

(Also why some of my responses were in just under the wire...)

But this was a good break and exercise from that other writing, and let me try a few new things.

And comparing to earlier years--especially 2017 and 2018 when I was getting back onto the writing horse and feeling out my OCs--I feel like my growth as a writer, especially to be more succinct yet still evocative when needed, is evident. I've gotten a lot of practice in over time, and this challenge is one of the things that helped me get to where I can write an original story on top of my fanfic!

I didn't look at the totals until the end; I only checked some of the shorter ones during the challenge to see if they hit my personal "500+ words" cut off for adding a Read More to the posts.

"Grave" honestly could have been a lot shorter; I started the plot too early, and much as I like Zaine making one last visit to his childhood Nana, for the purposes of the challenge, I could have just focused on going to the lichyard to save myself time and energy, and wrote about the visit on my own another time. On the other hand, it's done now!

Not sure which is a favorite; there's a lot I like.

Shannen Doherty's Wild Ways May Be Hazardous to Her—and Her Career

I was weary of the verbal assaults and locked myself in our bathroom. At this point she threatened to shoot me and said, "I'm going to drop you!" I knew she had a loaded 9-mm automatic…. I heard the chamber pulled back; at that point, I hastily exited the house through a back door connected to the bathroom and escaped. —From a May 25 petition by Dean Jay Factor in the Superior Court of California for a domestic-violence restraining order against Shannen Doherty

The scenario sounds like something from Top Cops, not Beverly Hills, 90210, but then actress Shannen Doherty, 22—who in America's favorite zip code plays prototypical teen Brenda Walsh—has always marched to a dangerous drummer. Partying late into the night at trendy L.A. clubs such as Roxbury and the Gate and piloting her $30,000 black BMW at high speeds through nearby streets, she has defiantly winked at her bad-girl reputation. "Don't believe everything you read," she coyly told fans during a May 26 TV interview. "To paraphrase Mark Twain, half the things you read about me are untrue, and the others are lies.

Now, however, attitude alone may prove a flimsy defense. Last week Doherty was facing not a hyperbolic tabloid headline but the sworn testimony of former fiancé Factor, 28, heir to the Max Factor cosmetics fortune. And his charges made the tantrum-prone 5'2", 100-lb. Doherty sound violent if not downright homicidal. By midweek, according to Factor's attorney, Edwin Lasman, an understanding had been reached with Doherty in which his client's differences with her were resolved, eliminating the need for further court proceedings. An announcement of the agreement was expected by the week's end.

Still, the allegations in Factor's 15-page declaration remain deeply disturbing. Once, Doherty tried to run him down with a car, Factor claimed. Another time, he said, she threw a log through a window to get into his house. During one argument, he maintained, she "threatened to hire a few guys to beat me up and to sodomize me 'on the front lawn.' " He ended his petition by saying that even though he was taking steps to prevent harassment, "I will live in fear."

Others say they are afraid for Doherty. They believe she is a young woman on the verge of spinning out of control—and that she may be a harmful influence on Tori Spelling, 20, who plays 90210's Donna Martin (and whose father, Hollywood megamogul Aaron Spelling, is the show's executive producer). Tori lately has been engaging in the kind of hard partying and public pugnacity that has given Doherty her bad-girl reputation.

For a time, her rep looked like a stellar career play for Doherty. It meant publicity (even in the form of a nationally circulated I Hate Brenda newsletter, a thinly disguised jab at the actress herself). And Doherty willingly parried the insinuations about her behavior. She denied in interviews that she had an alcohol problem and told one reporter, "I don't hit people. I wasn't hit as a child, and I don't believe in it." Not denying her aggressiveness, she offered in her own defense a favorite line from her preteen days as Jenny Wilder on Little House: A New Beginning. "Michael Landon," she said, "told me you have to stick up for yourself in this business."

What would Landon think now? Since debuting on 90210 in 1990, Doherty has left a trail of bad debts, trashed homes, exhausted friendships and wasted relationships. When challenged, say several people who know her, she is likely to respond with a menacing, "You don't know who you're f—ing with!"

Apparently, Dean Factor learned who and wishes he hadn't. Neither Doherty nor her attorney, Joseph D'Onofrio, responded to PEOPLE's repeated requests for an interview. Speaking in his daughter's defense, Shannen's father, Tom Doherty, 49, an L.A. mortgage adviser, offers a different spin. "He's been doing [the abusing]," says Doherty. "He initialed the charge, but she's the victim."

Indeed, in a confrontation between the 5'10", 175-lb. Factor and Doherty, it is hard to imagine Shannen as anything but a victim. And yet Factor swears that lie was usually on the receiving end. At times, he admits in his petition, he slapped her. Once he threw her into his swimming pool. He says he was acting in self-defense—a claim many who know Doherty are inclined to believe.

"I could have predicted this before it happened," says Doherty's previous ex-fiancé, Chris Foufas, 25, a Chicago-based health-club owner who was engaged to the star in 1991. "Things move along smoothly for a while, and then something snaps and she goes into another drive: rage."

Until March 19, when Doherty moved into Factor's $5,200-a-month rented Tudor-style house in the Hollywood Hills, all seemed relatively smooth. "We did not have more than the occasional loud argument," Factor says. On April 19, with 90210 on hiatus, Doherty began work on the set of a movie, the suspense thriller Blindfold. A senior crew member on the movie calls her behavior "cantankerous, snotty and threatening" and says Doherty told everyone on the set how she and Factor "were constantly fighting, saying how she punched him and he hit her." And then, he adds, "the thing with Nelson began."

In Blindfold, Doherty, who does her first onscreen nude scenes, plays a patient who becomes sexually involved with her psychiatrist—portrayed by Brat Pack graduate Judd Nelson, 33. Shortly after shooting began, Doherty began an offscreen romance with Nelson, even though she was still living with Factor. Right after a read-through of the Blindfold script in early April, Factor and Doherty began a vacation together in Hawaii on April 12. They were accompanied by Spelling and Nick Savalas, 20, son of actor Telly Savalas, Tori's boyfriend of several months. During the trip, said Factor in his petition, "we took full advantage of the romantic setting." He proposed marriage—and Doherty accepted. But within hours, they were fighting. "Shannen came back with a black eye and said she'd been hit by a surfboard," says her dad. "In reality he'd hit her." Factor's version in his declaration: "After having been kicked and beaten, I pushed her off me. Unfortunately she tripped, fell and cut her eye on the doorstep." What were they arguing about? Gus Hudson, manager of the Greenville Bar & Grill in Dallas, noticed on that evening that Doherty "was drinking heavily" and that "she puked at her table." The next night, back at the Greenville, Nelson was taunted by several young people about his recent lack of good movie parts. When he tried to climb over a railing to argue, he kicked 21-year-old Kim Evans in the nose—unintentionally, he says. Evans left the bar with minor injuries, and Nelson was eventually charged with assault. The case is pending.

As Chris Foufas sees it, his ex-fiancée's bar-and mate-hopping follows a familiar pattern. "Shannen can be a great, wonderful, loving person," he says. "But she wants to be a dictator. Shannen gets people to commit to her and then says, 'See ya!' She is like a kid who wants a toy, gets it and then gets tired of it."

Over the past year she has amassed a lot of toys—at heavy cost. After she broke up with Foufas, for example, she went on a $45,000 shopping spree. Previously the California United Bank, which often tolerates celebrity overdrafts up to $100,000, had filed suit in May last year because Doherty had not repaid $31,628.16 in bad checks written in 1991. The Superior Court of California awarded the bank a 25 percent levy against her $17,500-a-week 90210 paycheck—which will be raised to $22,500 when shooting resumes July 7. Apparently. Still waiting for payment are Doherty's former publicist, Susan Culley, ex-manager Mike Gursey and former landlord Mark Nishimura, who claims Doherty owes $14,000 in unpaid lease fees. Reportedly two of Shannen's leased Mercedeses have been repossessed.

Why the seeming inability to control her spending? "It's a power thing, to prove her worth," says a former friend. But Shannen, who started acting in Pepsi commercials at age 10, has helped the Doherty clan (including her mother, Rosa, who works at an L.A. beauty salon, and her older brother, Sean, 26, a political volunteer). "She's too generous," thinks her dad. "Your cash flow just dries up."

Ultimately, of course, Aaron Spelling governs that spigot, and an insider says he is looking to dump Doherty from 90210. Though she has 28 episodes left in her contract, Doherty's onscreen time next season may be minimized if Brenda leaves for college in Minnesota. But Spelling is concerned more for his daughter than his series. Tori has moved out of her family's 100-plus-room Holmby Hills mansion. Over the last month she and Savalas have been spotted engaged in loud arguments in several L.A. hot spots. Says Roxbury doorman Todd Spenla of their relationship: "Tori is always unhappy for some reason." Notes the insider: "With Tori getting caught up in [Shannen's lifestyle] now, Aaron is beside himself as a father."

Given Doherty's long-standing reputation—not likely to be enhanced by Factor's allegations—losing 90210 could cripple her career. Shannen, her father hopes, may be getting the message. EARLY LIFE: Emily was born in late April 1980, exactly 3 years and 1 week after Dale, and exactly one month after Jay, on the same day. So, when he was born and his mother, Sharon’s sister and Emily’s aunt died, and Sharon adopted him, she passed him as her daughter’s fraternal twin and raised her two oldest to consider him their sibling. While Dale and Tyler, their older brothers, grew up treating him as such, they both knew the truth, though Tyler, being older, was more aware of it. Emily was kept in the dark by her mother and learned about it way later.

Their brothers, Tyler and Dale, were respectively 7 and 3 years older than the “twins”. Both helped raising and caring for them, but essentially Tyler as most of the responsibility to care and protect his siblings fell on him as he was the eldest. Dale was very playful, and much more careless and tempestuous so Tyler also had to deal with him, on top of everything else, and was somewhat of a bully towards Jay, at some point using a BB gun on him. He teased him way more than he did Emily because when he did, Tyler would kick his ass (metaphorically speaking, or not), so he contented himself with making jokes. Sometime after Emily was born, Sharon let an almost 8-year-old Tyler hold his baby sister and it seemed to form some kind of bond already as he never forgot how she looked at him with her big eyes and smiled. He grew up to be very protective of his family but even more so of his sister, being on the contrary, quite distant and unaffectionate towards Jay, though he did care for him as well. But throughout their lives, he seemed to subtly, or not, make Jay understand that he cared more about Emily, as if he wasn't as much family.

Until she entered high school, Emily’s favourite brother was beyond the shadow of doubt, Tyler. He raised her and Jay since they were babies and kept Dale from teasing her, teaching her valuable skills, making her grow up to be someone very handy and skilful. She never realized that he felt some resentment and jealousy towards them still, but mostly towards Jay as he knew he wasn’t his biological brother and more or less subconsciously held it against him. He knew everything about his younger siblings, how they kept a squirrel as a pet when they were young, and he knew before she told anyone that she started liking grunge music when she was 11 or 12. For her 12th birthday, he got her the Nevermind album from Nirvana and a CD player, which she ended up sharing with Jay. He didn’t get such gifts for either of his brothers. She already idolized Tyler since she was a child, but he had officially become her favourite brother. At the time, and because she was too young to work, and they weren’t exactly rich, she wanted to find a way to get some money to get herself a pair of Converse, to do like Kurt Cobain so Tyler got her to help him fix things around the house and do chores and a month later, he came home with a box and gave her a pair of black converse, which she started wearing 24/7 at school.

She had a rocky relationship with her father and was quite scared of him for a while, mainly because he could get violent when drunk and hit their mother sometimes and would hit Tyler and Dale too when they got in the middle. But when she was younger, maybe 8 or so, he one day brought home some rabbit he had caught and she wouldn’t listen to him and sit down because she wanted to go play outside with Jay but also because she didn’t want to skin the animal, so he smacked her across the face, bringing her to tears and she ran off. She hid in the barn, in a corner, curled up and quietly crying, until Tyler, then 15-year-old, found her. He had a bruise on his cheek, and she cried even more and asked if he got hit because of her. He dismissed her worries and got her to come out and help him somewhere else on the property. At dinner, her father awkwardly apologised, coming up with excuses and empty words, talking a lot but basically saying nothing, and she just nodded, not really saying anything. She already didn’t trust her father, or feel safe around him, but she certainly wouldn’t after that. After that event, Dale would always crack jokes and used the fact that he was always teasing Jay to make her laugh. He very lightly teased her too but with Tyler watching her, he never went as far as he did with Jay. She was definitely Tyler’s favourite too. The first memory he had with her was her smiling at him as a baby, so he hated seeing her cry. He was as protective of his mother as he was of his sister. 

When she and Jay entered High school, they quickly found out how well-known their family actually was in that school, because all four Holt kids went there and the parents too back in the day. During their first year, Tyler was already 21 and very much working and Dale was already out of school, having dropped out about a year prior, and he would come pick them up everyday when Tyler couldn’t. Jay and Emily were in the same classes, so they were always together but as the freshman year went on, she made friends with other people in some of the classes they didn’t share, though always trying to include Jay in the group, but he went back to staying alone. By the end of the first semester, she had ditched her new friends and preferred to hang out with her brother, though she had kept one good friend, another girl from the group she hung out with and one boy that she liked. The two siblings began being isolated by their classmates. They would often call Jay a “weirdo” or “loser” and she would defend him. She acted exactly like Tyler did with their mom. She almost got into a fight with a couple of other kids at the school and after telling Tyler, he basically scolded her - more out of worry for her than actual anger - and told her not to get into any fights and not act like Dale, which for some reason made her want not to listen to him.

She began to act as Jay’s protector at school and it emboldened her, she was more rebellious, and it reflected in her relationship with her dad. She started to test his limits, which was probably not the best idea as he would get mad and try to hit her, but she often managed to dodge and run away, Tyler and Dale getting hit in her place, which she felt bad for. She began to think Tyler hated her because she realized he was more distant. In the beginning of the second half og her freshman year of high school, she met again a boy who was in the friend group she had temporarily joined in her first year, but he had developed a crush for her. She reciprocated his feelings and they shared a kiss. He asked her out and one week-end, Emily lied, saying she was going for a girl's pajama party as her best friend's house when really, she was going to the arcade with her boyfriend. The next morning, Sharon told Tyler to go get his sister and when he got to Emily's friend house and she wasn't there, he asked to use the landline to call his mom and told him. Sharon told him to drive around town and come home. He came home half an hour later and she was already there, getting scolded in the kitchen because she didn't want to tell them where she was the night before. At some point, she stood up because she wanted to leave, and accidentally yelled back at her mom and her dad got angrier. He swung his arm in her direction and upon dodging him, she fell against the fridge, curled up, her arms up in front of her face, eyes widened and her whole body shaking like a leaf.

Tyler and Dale got inbetween her and their dad and got hit in her place. Later, she told Tyler where and who she was with the night prior and told him she was with a guy from school. He told her not to lie and she admitted that he was her boyfriend. Dale heard and got worked up knowing a boy "touched her" and she yelled that nobody touched her and it took Tyler shoving him to make him shut up. One day at school, Dale came to pick up his siblings and he saw Emily come out of school with a boy. When she crossed his gaze and saw him, she put a distance between her and the boy but he now knew who her boyfriend was. He walked up to them and beat him up bloody. He was arrested and because he wasn't yet 18, he was sent to juvenile detention. She wouldn't talk to Dale for months after that, and didn't speak to him during the three months he spent in juvie. The boy was transferred to another school and wouldn't talk to her anymore, telling her her brother was a "fucking psycho". By the end of their second year of high school, as they turned 16, Jay dropped out and she really was alone now. She had her best friend left and that was about it for the next two years of high school.

Then, in May 1998, the events of the game happened. She wasn’t supposed to be involved in their plans, but she refused to stay behind, and Tyler agreed to let her come along, on the condition she did exactly as he said.

Pushing the stroller through the grocery store I had our kids with us shopping for their Halloween costumes while Georgie was holding down the store. Going down the isle of costumes Montana was sitting inside the cart with the girls walking beside me. Evelyn rushed forward spotting a star wars costume of Princess Leia. She tugged on the bottom of the package since she wasn't tall enough. "Mommy, can I get this one?"

"Sure. I'll have to find you a headband that has her hairstyle though." Tossing the package in the cart we kept moving forward.

Aurora scanned the pictures until she found one that looked like a female version of Indiana Jones. "Mom, look at this. I want this one."

"Alright. What is it, Montana?" He was tugging on my shirt a little harshly trying to get my attention.

Shifting my gaze forward I saw his tiny fingers were grabbing a hold of a batman package. "Bat…bat."

"Oh I get it." I nodded grabbing both costumes until something came to my mind making me chuckle at my son and my youngest daughter. "You know you're uncle Sheldon won't like it that Leia and Batman are friends. Since they're from two different franchises…but don't worry we're still getting them."

Walking up to the woman at the cash register she eyed me and my three kids clearly remembering who I was. And I remembered who her parents were too. Her mom helped George Sr when Missy had her first period and now I was interacting with her teenage daughter. "My mom knew you. You’re the girl who had a kid before she was married. You slept with that Cooper boy. Not the smart one, but his brother."

"Can I just check out please." I changed the subject, putting my items on the table for her. "Are you excited for Halloween tomorrow?"

The girl nodded seeing the kids costumes they'd picked out. "Yes I am. Oh and you’re kids are adorable…"

I could she wanted to say more than that but I handed her the money and grabbed our stuff quickly before she could say more. "Happy…Halloween." Montana called out to her as I held him in one arm, carrying the bag in my other.

"Bye." Evelyn waved to the cashier woman with Aurora following behind her.

Putting the bag in the truck and Montana in his carseat in the back with Evelyn I got in the driver's seat. Aurora got in the front with me looking over at me where I was almost crying. "Mom, are you gonna cry?"

"Uh…no. I'm fine." I sniffed some tears back using my jacket sleeve to stop them. But my other hand gripped the steering wheel knowing that this still shouldn't affect how people in this town saw us. Turning the engine of the car on I started driving home not saying anything until we got back. "Mommy is totally fine. I just remember that woman's mother is all. Now let’s go carve pumpkins."

The girls went around and covered the kitchen table with newspapers. I had their costumes hanging in the laundry room. Montana was in his highchair eating some Mac and cheese so I could help the girls with their pumpkins. The front door opened when I cut off the top of one of them, seeing Georgie. "Hey honey, how was the store today?"

"Pretty good. I managed to sell almost 100 tires in an hour." He shrugged off his leather jacket hanging it on the hook by the door.

He walks over the second I sat the knife down on the table and he spun me around so that he could kiss me which caused Eve and Montana tp make disused noises. Breaking the kiss I put a hand on my hip so they knew I was serious. "Be nice or daddy and I won't help you carve pumpkins."

After the kids ate their lunch we got straight to work. Georgie started pulling out some of the seeds and then let the kids each do it on their own. "This is so gross.." Aurora said pulling out a huge handful and putting it on the newspaper.

"Rora, Rora think fast." Evelyn suddenly launched a handful of pumpkins skin and seeds at her sister’s face.

It got all over her face and even in her hair where she grumbled going into the bathroom. "Seriously Eve. Act your age."

"I'm this many." Montana held up two fingers showing me and Georgie.

Georgie held down his hand to his son's level giving him a high five. "That's my little man."

"Eve, I told you don’t make too much of a mess or no TV before bed tonight." Sending a raised brow to my daughter she looked at the ground sadly.

"Sorry Mommy." She apologized.

Kissing her forehead I heard my phone going off in the other room. Moving to grab it I could see that it was a video call coming in from Penny. Clinking the answer button I waved. "Hi Penny, what's up girl?"

"Leonard and I decided to have a Halloween party and you guys haven't seen the baby yet. So why don't you come up for the weekend?" She suggested it to me.

Georgie and Evelyn were laughing when I looked in their direction seeing that the pair were throwing some pumpkin guts at Montana but weren't making as much of a mess as earlier with Aurora. Turning my attention back to the blonde I responded. "That sounds great, Penny. We should be able to make the trip. I'll let you know if something changes. I'll talk to you later." Hanging up the phone and laying it on the table going back over to the trio.

"Hey honey, what was Penny calling about?" Georgie asked, walking over to me putting a hand on my hip tugging me close to his chest, sending me a smile.

Draping my arms around his neck I grinned up to my husband leaving up on my toes to give him a kiss. "She wants us to come up to California for a Halloween party where they are having to meet their baby, Wyatt."

"I think that's doable, darling." He responded by kissing the crown of my head.

Aurora came back from the bathroom finally wiping off the mess that her sister had covered her in. "Eve, no more pumpkin launching at me. I'll do marshmallow fights but not with pumpkins."

"Okay…sissy." Eve responded simply.

Montana reached inside the pumpkin on his own baby one that we had bought him. "Here we go, little man." Georgie came back over taking the knife carving a smile into his pumpkin.

"Can I have fangs on mine, dad. That would be school." Aurora questions her father sitting back down on the kitchen barstool by her pumpkin watching him carve.

Her father nodded in agreement finishing the carving. "There's some rocking fangs, Rora. Eve, what do you want?"

"One with rounded eyes and mouth." She clapped her hands together.

It was a few hours before sunset before we could put out the pumpkins. The kids were heading to bed by the time I had cleaned the kitchen and threw away the newspapers covered in pumpkins guts. Georgie was sitting on the couch in front of the TV tuning into a football game. "How was your day, Y/n?" He lifted his right arm allowing me to snuggle up against him once I laid down.

"Pretty good. Hopefully since Halloween is on a Friday the kids will go to bed for most of Saturday to give us time to rest." I sighed in relief meeting his soft brown eyes running one hand through his curls, seeing him send me a soft expression. "But I did feel off when the teenage girl working at the gas station recognized me. I remember her mom from when Missy had her first lady mouth."

"I bet that would be weird. Like seeing my mom at the Tire store or at the laundromat we used to work at." Georgie got lost in thought. "That would be super odd if I saw any of our kids working where we used to work."

Laying my head back down on his chest I intertwined my freehand with his. "Even though it's hard living in a small town where everyone knows everyone, I do enjoy it here. And I know the kids do too. What about you, Georgie?"

"I wouldn't change anything cause I get you and our beautiful babies." He tucked some loose hair behind my ear watching my eyes begin to fall closed from the lack of sleep. He felt my body falling against him where he slowly got to his feet picking me up bridal style, carrying me to our bedroom. He crawled in the bed beside me mumbling when I peaked my eyes open slightly. "I love you so much, Y/n Cooper."

"I love you too, Georgie." Squeezing his hand in mine I buried my face against his chest when he wrapped his arms around my waist letting me fall asleep in his arms.

Fantasy Book Review: The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

My book reviews

I read Priory of the Orange Tree early this year based on the pitch “sapphic stand-alone fantasy with dragons” and it definitely checks all of those boxes. The world building is rich and immersive; sometimes it feels like an author is just throwing out random names of places without anything behind them, but you do not feel that with this book. The romance, though not the main point of the book, is well written and easy to root for. The characters are all great (even Niclays! Fight me!), and the story and mythology are engaging. 

A quick summary: in this retelling of St. George and the Dragon, Queen Sabran of Inys must marry and bear a daughter to keep an ancient evil dragon from returning. A secret magical organization from the South doesn’t believe that Sabran is actually the force holding back the dragon, but they have sent the spy Ead Duryan, to protect her just in case. She gets promoted to lady-in-waiting and grows close to the Queen. In the East, Tané trains to ride a dragon for her nation’s army, and exiled alchemist Niclays Roos, who is totally 100% doing FINE, searches for a way to restore his good name. Also, good bean Arteloth Beck who has also been banished from court, sets off on a quest (it’s been a few months and tbh I’m a bit hazy on the details). 

The main flaw of this book, in my opinion, is that it is a bit slow in the beginning. And when the book is 252,000 words (roughly 900 pages), the beginning lasts a LONG time. I listened to it on audio book, and out of a 25 hour book (at normal listening speed), it took me at least 5-6 hours to really get into it. But, I think it is definitely worth pushing through, because when it does eventually pick up, it does not let up. The different threads of the four different POV’s start to really interconnect and draw closer and closer until they all meet during the climax of the book in a very satisfying battle. 

Ead, as the primary protagonist, is absolutely wonderful. She is stubborn and unyielding, and clings desperately to her beliefs and principles while in a foreign land. The relationship between Sabran, a queen believed to be a holy, mystical figure, and Ead, a magician from a group that doesn’t really quite believe in Sabran’s divinity, is delicious. 

This book is definitely a fantasy story with some romance sprinkled on top, so if you are looking for more of a romance heavy story this might not be for you, but there is definitely a reason this one is so popular. It is high fantasy done extremely well, in my opinion. The way the world building and the plot perfectly intertwines is *chef’s kiss*. 

If you like slow-burn sapphic romance, examinations of chosen one narratives, dragon riders destined for greatness, and asshole alcoholics, then this one's for you. Also if you just like pretty books on your shelf, because the cover of this one is SO SO PRETTY.

Everything had happened so fast.

Riley is leaning back on the arm of the couch, her bare feet in Steve’s lap as he helped relax her after a long day, working his thumbs into the balls of her feet. She hadn’t been feeling sexy lately, it was hard on her to be this pregnant but he’d been here before; he was entirely prepared to do anything to make her more comfortable. When she got home from her day out with Sarah, the kid had run off to find Bucky while Riley had went in search of him, pulling him from his work.

“I hope you're content with two because I don’t know if I can go through this again,” Riley sighed, closing her eyes. 

Steve laughed at her, “Sweetheart I was content with one, but I will take as many as you’ll allow me.” he leaned down and kissed her calf.

“Don’t take this the wrong way,” she opened her eyes, meeting him in all seriousness. “I may not be Sarah’s biological mother but she is 100% my kid, but I just wanted to know what it felt like and for the most part it's been okay but this kid is two weeks over the due date. I just want to be able to shave my own damn legs!”

He leaned over and kissed her lips, smirking. “You know I don’t mind helping you in the bath, and your libdo has been rather ravenous.”

“Stop it,” she pushed him back. “Sex is too much work when I this big.” she groaned. He was going to make another comment when she suddenly lurched, arching her back and grinding her teeth. His eyes went wide as he watched her, she’d started experiencing Braxton Hicks Contractions a few days ago-which was leading to most of her distaste for pregnancy. 

“The doctor-” he is interrupted by the blaring of his phone, he doesn’t immediately recognize the sound-it's not one he hears often. But it only takes him a few seconds to realize it's the security alert, telling him the house is going into lockdown due to unauthorized access to their front gate. “Baby get to the panic room, I’ll get Sarah” he instructs, rising from the couch quickly. 

She wiggles from the couch the best she can, watching as he grabs his gun holster and heads from their living room. Her contractions aren’t stopping but she knows she doesn’t have much time to get to the basement where the panic room is before whatever danger is upon the house. She is waddling through the hall that leads to the set of stairs for the basement when she hears the gunshots outside the house. Adrenaline and fear are her companions and she moves into the hall closet, typing in the code for the safe and retrieving a gun of her own. She’s trying not to cry out as the pain in her lower abdomen radiates but she’s barely moving now as she reaches the top of the stairs. 

She can hear voices at the bottom, she recognizes Bucky’s, that provides some relief-knowing Sarah is safely downstairs. She takes the first step and her knee buckles, her hold on the railing the only thing holding her up as she realizes what's about to happen.

“Riley!” She hears Steve’s terrified screech from downstairs, but she can’t call out to him because the fear that was already there only intensifies when her water breaks. Steve is already running back up the stairs to look for her when she finally allows the fear and pain to produce tears on her face. “Riley, baby we need to get downstairs.” he’s on her now, nearly slips on the puddle underneath her. 

“I can’t,” she is breathless as she looks up into his wide blue eyes as he realizes what’s going on. 

“Shit,” he bent down, slipping his arms underneath her to carry her bridal style down and into the panic room. “Sarah sweetheart, please get off the bed.” Steve instructs his daughter who quickly runs over to them.

“Mommy what’s wrong?”

Steve places Riley on the bed and turns to nod to Bucky who seals the panic room, the two men whipping out their phones. Steve calls in favors so his girlfriend doesn’t give birth in distress and Bucky to the other members of the crew.

“Mommy’s having the baby,” Riley tried to keep her tone calm so as to not frighten the seven year old in front of her.

“Daddy, we have to go to the hospital!” Sarah yells at her dad, concerned for her mother filling her features and tone.

“Stark, I’m calling in that favor you owe me. Hydra’s surrounded my home and my girl just went into labor.” Steve isn’t acknowledging his girls, right now his focus is on getting the danger handled so he can take care of his family.

“Sarah, sweetheart,” Riley’s tone is soothing, though she’s clenching her fists tightly, one around the gun, the other cutting into the palm of her hand. “Daddy’s got to make sure everything's okay first, then we can go to the hospital and meet your little sister, okay?”

“But you're hurting,” Sarah pouts at Riley with those same blue eyes Riley adores so much on Steve. “I don’t want you to hurt.”

“I know, baby girl but right now, it's not safe for us to leave this room.” It looks like Sarah is going to protest again so Riley continues. “Why don’t you read me a chapter from that princess book daddy bought you?”

Sarah’s temporarily distracted, running over to her backpack she’d been wearing when the lockdown happened and pulling the book out. Another contraction hits, Riley isn’t able to muffle the sound of the pain as her body struggles to adjust. Both Bucky and Steve look at her, assessing, thinking, trying to figure out how the hell they are going to get this handled and get her to the hospital before the baby is born. The groan of pain is enough to alert Sarah and make her angry again, she places her book on the table near the bed and marches up to her father glaring at him down.

“We need the hospital!” she stomps her foot as if that will change anything.

“Sarah, do as your mother says.” Steve’s tone is stern enough to tell her this isn’t a debate but there isn’t a harshness to it. He knows she doesn’t fully understand what’s happening, part of him is gald but another part wishes she was old enough to understand. 

Sarah grumpily returns to Riley’s side to read, Riley helping with the longer words but she keeps looking at Steve. He knows she’s terrified, when he taught her to use a gun, he promised he’d never put her in a position to use it and now, when she needs protecting the most she has a pistol in a death grip. The fear on her face is only rivaled by the determination to protect their kids, both the grumpy one and the one trying to escape her uterus. 

A silence settles as they hear footsteps above them, the security cameras showing that the enemy is looking through all the rooms. He knows there is no way they are getting into the panic room, knows the only danger inside is Riley needing medical care none of them can provide but rage fills him as he watches these men tear apart his house. Whether they are here for him or to hurt his family is irrelevant, Hydra is on its last leg and that desperation has led to this. He called Stark, the deal the Boroughs had struck against Hydra in full effect now that they’ve made this personal. Tony promised to gather the other crews and be over as soon as he could, and promised to bring Dr. Banner in the event Riley has to deliver before help gets there but it's not enough. He wants to be out there, him and Buck, like the old days protecting their own; being the ones to kill those who threaten the peace. But to leave would surely piss off his laboring girlfriend, and leave both girls more frightened than they already were. 

“Steve!” Riley’s screech breaks the silence. “The pressure-” she gasps out in pain. 

He looks to Bucky, a silent conversation happening between them then Steve is at Riley’s side and Bucky is pulling Sarah away to distract her with a game on her tablet. “I’m right here baby,” he whispers in her ear, kissing her temple then pushing her hair from her face. 

“It hurts.”

“Riley, you might have-”

“I swear if I have to give birth down here Steve.” she growls out, her face scrunching in pain again.

“I’m going to make this up to you, I promise.” 

“I want that wedding you promised me.”

“It's yours baby,” he smiles, trying to be reassuring but has been timing the contractions. He knows they are going to make it to the hospital, she’s gonna have to start pushing soon. “I’ll give Peggy whatever she wants to finalize the divorce and then I’ll get all the paperwork figured out, we can be married by next week.”

She weeps now, he doesn’t know if it's pain, fear, or his promises that he’s made so frequently but yet to fulfill. It's not that he was going to, there’s just been so much happening. Peggy dragged out the divorce proceedings, the discord of Queens, Hydra trying to snatch up territory, and Riley was nearing her residency requirements to get her degree. He continues to whisper words of encouragement to her, stroking her hair in the way that’s always soothed her. 

“Honey, I know you know what’s happening,” she whispers. She’s been timing her contractions to, and the way her body feels. “It’s time, Steve, you have to help me.” 

He nods, keeping his facial expression steady but his heart is beating too fast now, he is absolutely terrified because he has no fucking idea how to deliever a baby. He’s suddenly glad she decided to wear a sundress for her day out with Sarah, because he really doesn’t want to scar his kid and best friend. He carefully assists her in removing her panties and then positioning her body the way he remembers from Sarah’s brith. He wants to ask his best friend for help, but he genuinely has no idea what he’s doing and he needs him to distract his kid. 

“I have to push with the contractions, when you see the baby, don’t pull exactly just guide her,” Riley instructs. Both of them regretted in the moment that she wasn’t training to be an obstetrician, this would be a little easier if it was her area of expertise. He sees her bare down and knows she is pushing by the redness on her face, he bends to look over her vagina. Seeing it in a way he never has before, he’s never been afraid to go down there before but now it's taking everything in his power to keep his hands steady as he keeps her thighs pushed apart. 

“I’m right here babydoll, we are going to do this together,” he’s proud his voice is steady, soothing even as he whispers to her. 

“I should have listened to my mom!” she cries but there’s an exasperated laugh at the end. “I should have made you use a condom.”

“You were on birth control baby,” he reminds, teasing her but she only glares at him. “Okay not in a playful mood.”

“You push a human out of your dick and see how playful you feel,” she hisses quietly so Sarah doesn’t hear the crude terms. Steve visibly flinches at the idea. He shuts his mouth as she bares down again, she’d exert herself to the point he can see her hands shaking. It's then he finally sees the gun in her hand. 

“Riley,” he puts his hand out. “Give me the gun.” for a second he thinks she’s ignoring him but then she flicks the safey on and just drops it. She sends him an apologetic look, he assumes the pain she’s feeling is making her afraid to move any of her limbs. Another push and he can see the top of the baby's head. 

“Steve, I can’t” the words come out tired, barely hearing her.

“You can, I can see her head, come out sweetheart. You can do this.” he is trying to be encouraging but his voice is starting to tremble. 

“What’s happening?” Sarah's voice shatters the bubble of the expecting parents, panic surging through them both again as Riley has to push agai. 

“Buck, I can't,” Steve nods to Sarah.

Bucky picks Sarah up and props her on his hip, explaining while Steve does his best to handle the situation. “You’re mommy’s giving birth, we get to meet your sister in a few minutes.”

“I wanna see!” Sarah says excitedly, trying to wiggle out of Bucky’s hold but his grip is strong.

“Not yet, it's not a pretty sight.”

My teacher said childbirth is a miracle, aren’t they pretty?” 

Bucky snorts, meeting Steve’s eyes. Sarah can’t see it but the three adults know there's a blood mess happening on the bed right now and Riley sure as hell does not feel like she’s experiencing a miracle right now. 

“Sarah, why don’t you tell Uncle Bucky the name we came up with?” Riley’s tries to be encouraging but she is weeping now.

“Alice Rogers!” Sarah says proudly. “Mommy and Daddy let me help, I chose Alice from the book mommy read to me when she first moved in with us. And Mommy chose Marie for the middle name after her Daddy who was a marine.”

“Alice Marie Rogers, it's a beautiful name. You made a good squid.” Bucky tweaks her nose. 

The playful giggles from Sarah are interrupted by the wailing of a newborn. Bucky puts Sarah down on the couch, instructing her to stay, he moves to Steve to take the baby so he can help Riley with the after birth. Sarah makes sure to stay out of the way but she follows Bucky, watching in disgust as he cleans all the yucky fluids from her little sister. 

“Buck!” Steve’s scream is unlike anything any of them have ever heard. Bucky looks over his shoulder to see his best friend of countless years, one hand under his girl's dress the other on her face, pleading with her to stay awake. “She’s still bleeding!”

“It could be post …” her voice is weak as she tries to explain. “Postpartum hemorrhaging. I need to go to the hospital Steve.” She tries to keep her eyes on him, her tone low as not to scare Sarah anymore than she is. “It can be fatal.” she hopes Sarah hasn’t learned that word yet.

It doesn’t matter, the agonzied noise that comes from Steve in the moment has both kids crying. Riley is doing her best to keep her eyes open, but Bucky can see she is afraid, her eyes aren’t so vibrant anymore. Holding Alice in one hand Bucky reaches into his pocket with the other and dials Stark. “We need medical help immediately.”

“Baby stay with me,” Steve is pleading, covered in Rileys blood. He’s moved on the bed now, straddling her hips but not leaning on her at all as he holds her face in his bloodied hands. “Riley, baby you can’t leave me, remember we talked about this. You’re stuck with me.” 

There’s banging at the panic door, causing the crying to get worse. Bucky tries to hand the baby to Steve but he’s hysterical, so he tucked Alice safely in his metal arm and grabs his gun, approaching the door to see Banner, Stark, Natasha, and Parker. He instantly opens the door, Banner rushing to Riley while the others process everything that’s happening.

“And I thought there was a blood bath outside,” Tony tries to joke but everyone's eyes are turned to Steve, who flung Banner away from Riley. 

“Take her!” Bucky shouts, holding Alice out to them. Natasha takes the baby while Tony and Bucky move over, pulling Steve from Riley and letting Bruce get close to her. “Steve, stop!” Bucky grunts at his friend, but Steve is thrashing, fighting to get back to Riley. 

“Daddy I’m scared.” The little voice of Sarah breaks through the chaos, it's enough to drop Steve to his knees. He looks to Sarah, his little girl bringing him back to his duties and responsibilities. Tony and Bucky release Steve, standing nearby in case they need to restrain him again. 

“Come here babydoll,” Steve whispers softly, Sarah jumps into his arms. Holding each other tightly, Steve silently cries as she watches his friends helping his girl onto a stretcher to transport her to a hospital. He trusts them, but he needs to see his whole family, needs to see they are okay. 

“We are taking them to the hospital Steve,” Natasha says softly as she kneels with the newest addition to his family. “You should take Sarah and Alice, Bucky and I will stay here and clean up … everything.” She looks over the room.

“What if-”

“Don’t do that to yourself, just get your butt and baby to the hospital. Stark took the jet, they should be there in a few minutes but this kid is going to need tending too as well.” Sarah releases Steve. “Hey kiddo, can you help your dad get your sister to your mommy?”

Sarah nods, rubbing her tired eyes. Steve takes Alice from Nat, it takes what’s left of his energy to get them to the car, instructing Sarah intensely on how to hold her sister during the drive. He tries not to speed but all he can think about the whole drive is Riley, he’s been a solo parent before but now-now that’s she’s been a part of their lives, he’s not sure he can do it alone.

I realized I never posted her backstory on the blog, so I'll just answer here. I didn't realize how tragic her story was until I tried to get it in order lol please ignore any spelling issues or inconsistencies. This was typed up on a phone.

Names:

Eisa Lhea (ay-suh lhee) -currently goes by this as an adventurer. Kept the name given by her father, just used a more doman pronunciation. 

Eisa lux Glycias (eye-suh lux g-lye-shus)- name given by her father, and her title

Brief timeline

Born in small village in doma

Raised to be a shrine maiden/ healer (but like, in a Fatal Frame sort of way. She was raised to be sacrificed. This mentally is one of the reasons she is quick to jump into danger to help people. She was always meant to die for the greater good. She still considers that her duty to some extent)

Bad home life/parents

Saved a garlean soldier with healing magic at age 7

Adopted by garlean medicus shortly after, he saw her potential 

Adoptive family is genuinely kind and loving. She has a dad and an older sister 

Graduates academy at 17, becomes a medicus

Dalamud drops when she is 22, loses her adoptive sister at carteneau

Fakes her death to flee to eorzea while keeping her father from being punished for her desertion

Relationships

Father - Leontinus mal Glycias (missing after destruction of garlemald) a kind man, a doting father to both of his daughters.

Sister - Callais lux Glycias (deceased) only a couple of years older than Eisa, but took her duties as an older sister very seriously. Was eisas first confidant. Used to chase off bullies that targeted her sister. Known for her beauty both inside and out, though she was top of her class and is an incredibly talented engineer. Last seen during the fall of dulamud piloting an experimental magiteck armor. Died protecting her sister.

G'raha Tia- Fell for graha during crystal tower, was going to tell him but he shut himself in the tower before she could. Knew he was the exarch right away. Is trying to get the courage to confess to him as of the end of EW. both would sacrifice themselves for the other without thinking, but actually talking about their feelings is too scary.

Haurchefant - was engaged to be married, and then the vault happened. Decided that her job wasn't really conducive to romance and decided not to fall in love again.

Emet-Selch- felt an inexplicable pull towards him, Azem's feelings towards him are still engraved on her very soul. She eventually was able to learn the difference between Azem's feelings and her own. came to see him as a friend. His death still haunts her. Especially after the events of Ulima Thule 

Zenos - battle buddies, had occasional run ins during academy days growing up. Also still messed up over his death. He had so much potential for good if only he was raised right. Could she have turned out the same if her father never saved her...?

Thancred - drinking buddy, closest friend in the scions

Yda/Lyse - very close as a result of their time in Gridania.

Y'Shtola - will 100% flirt with each other, Eisa absolutely calls her mommy as a joke

The twins - those are her children, has adoption paperwork ready to go the second their father starts his fuckshit. Would kill to keep them safe, absolutely has killed for them after the collar incident in EW. 

Tataru - the only person Eisa says she fears. Also one of her closest friends.

She's generally very close with the scion A team. Is friendly with most of the B team.

Aenor - Eisa is still salty about her comments towards G'raha when he joined the scions. Is noticably cold towards her, even though she knows it's petty.

Gaius - was relatively quick to trust him again. She understands he was doing what he believed to be right and just. Has a bit of a soft spot for him because he reminds her of her own father (in a normal way, not a "daddy issues" way) 

Nero - somehow buddies. Got close during the events of the crystal tower. She's elated to see him everytime he shows up.

Cid - considers him an older brother.

 

She's generally close with all those that defected from garlemald. They meet for drinks once a moon to reminisce about home. 

Personality

As far as most people know she is a woman of few words. Gives off a calm, self-assured vibe. Academically talented, she picks up on new areas of study quickly. Could be an archon, but generally hates sharlayan attitudes. Moves with grace and purpose 

Around those she is closest to, she's a total dork. Super shy when it comes to romance. Always down for a good time. Will attempt to out drink anyone that challenges her. Tends to sing when drunk. Her sense of humor can be confusing to some, she genuinely thinks Urianger and Estinien are the funniest people she's ever met. She's got my AuDHD.

Slow to anger, believes that most people are capable of good. Believes that those who have done wrong deserve the chance to fix their own mistakes. That one can be redeemed after even the most heinous offences if they truly wish to make up for it, even if it takes a lifetime. 

Is terrifying when truly angry. it's an icy, calculating type of anger. The only story events to cause this so far are facing thordan, when the twins were held hostage in EW, and when fake!valens was talking about Solus. Will keep her signature smile on her face when she is angry, it only makes it more unsettling as far as her enemies are concerned.

'Back on the Chain Gang' debuted on Billboard in early October 1982 and reached number 5 on the Hot 100, making it the band's biggest hit in the US. The song also peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and number 17 on the UK Singles Chart.

The pounding sounds and Chain Gang vocals heard in the song's chorus are reminiscent of Sam Cooke's 1960 song Chain Gang.

Hynde wrote Back on the Chain Gang as an ode to her then-boyfriend Ray Davies before lyrically reinterpreting it as a tribute to the late James Honeyman-Scott. The song was written and recorded during Chrissie Hynde's strained relationship with Ray Davies while she was three months pregnant with their daughter. Their difficult relationship ended six months later.

She described working on Back on the Chain Gang with Honeyman-Scott. Just a month before the song was recorded, the Pretenders fired bassist Pete Farndon. A few days later, lead guitarist Honeyman-Scott died of an accidental drug overdose. Farndon also died of a drug overdose a few months later. Hynde recounted: "…two days later Jimmy is dead…all of a sudden it all went down the drain…I was traumatized by the loss of my two best friends…I had to replace two members of the band - for my best ones replacing friends…"

In a 1992 interview with Guitar World, George Harrison said that Back on the Chain Gang uses a chord he "made up" for the Beatles song I Want to Tell You: "It's an E7 with an F on top , and I'm really proud of it because I invented that chord… There's only one other song that I know of that someone stole that chord from - Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders on 'Back on the Chain Gang'.”

The song was recorded shortly after Pretenders guitarist James Honeyman-Scott died of a drug overdose on June 16, 1982 at the age of 25. He died two days after the Pretenders fired their longtime bassist Pete Farndon over his drug problem.

Ultimate Classic Rock critic Matt Wardlaw ranked the song the second best song by the Pretenders of all time, saying that it "retains a deceptively upbeat tone, considering the subject matter".
