#my art #fiber arts #cross stitch #god I wish I had picked a simpler border this took foreverrrrr #I did take a break for like 2 or 3 months and didn’t work on it as often #but like I literally knit a sweater faster than I stitched this #also credit where credit is due raven came up with my catchy title #I wish I had swapped the light and dark greens also but it’s too late #I learned some bitching new techniques for this and also got a like. round clampy frame rather than a hoop #the big font and the border came from dmc I believe and I think I googled for the words #anyway. I have a really cool pattern that I wanna do but also I think another cross stitch might kill me #or maybe I’d have more fun with it bc it’s a pretty picture

woaa I think I never shared this. cross stitch I did of the dame of hearts from samuel’s playing cards. I really loved the art and I wanted it bigger for display purposes so I took matters into my own hands…

so lol for anyone wondering where I disappeared to for all of December. guess who decided to do crafts as gifts.

only one of the irl friends is still on tumblr anymore, so there is in fact. a fourth cross stitch. on top of the hand bound gift book pile where she can't see it. I am so tired.

After 2 1/2 months, I'm finally done! I'm sorry, Mr. Redacted, but merch is expensive, and thread is cheap. I also like being able to control how subtle a reference I'm making, and some of your merch doesn't fit that vibe. This is about 3 in x 4.5 in across, centered over the left breast of a jacket I've decorated previously.

I don't blame you if you don't immediately get the reference; constellations can be hard to identify. This one in particular is Carina, and the focus is on a particular star that makes up the constellation, Epsilon Carinae (that's the one above the fancy E)

The common name for that particular star, however, ought to be familiar (and not exactly surprising).

It's named Avior.

This little guy is a test for my "basic" amigurumi creature/animal body shape, so far adapted to a teddy bear shape (with different ears), and a baby dragon (with a back frill and wings in progress!)

I'll try to write a beginner-friendly pattern so there can be more of them 💓💓💓

The moral dilemma of "I want to make things as accessible and affordable for everyone as possible" and "we live in a capitalist hellscape where my disabled ass needs to be able to afford to live, and I put a ton of time and effort into my art so I deserve to be fairly compensated for it"

#I'm trying to make my cross stitch album covers into like. actual legible patterns to sell on my art store #and I was thinking of putting them up there for like. $5 because it's just a digital file. but that comes out to like 40 cents an hour #for the time jt took to design it initially and then make it into a legit pattern. which feels like I'm selling myself short #but also. I want as many ppl to b able to enjoy making their own as possible. eugh #armchair speaks #same goes for my brush packs I was thinking of posting it for like $10 but it took Hours and Hours to make each one #sobbing screaming rolling on the floor distraught etc
