(( I feel the need to come here now and ask some people to be more considerate. ))

(( I created this blog for fun on my SPARE time, which is little to none because I need to worry about getting money constantly so I can eat. Not to make it everyone's problem but I literally haven't eaten anything today yet and it's currently 6:30 PM as I'm publishing this post right now. There is food at home but it's just one option, which I'm so tired of eating it constantly for being one of the cheapest things to buy, it doesn't satisfy me anymore and we're just halfway through the month. I don't have any source of secure income and I got four other mouths to feed ASIDE OF MY OWN. I am constantly overworked with my underpaid part time job as English teacher because neither my father or younger brother can help me checking these homeworks or exams, they don't know English language like I do, and I still need to balance that with drawing for commissions, which are the only way I got to get money during the month. My father is too old to get hired for anything. My brother is still finishing college, if only that shit would end their strike to continue classes so he can graduate still this year and look for a proper job, which will also probably take some time, it's not easy to get a job here.

And it takes a lot of time for me to draw and answer the asks in this blog, usually over 1 hour and half, up to two hours or even longer when there's all three pups + something else they're doing or for the background - that is, if I work on it non-stop, because I usually draw a sketch, it sits there for a few days, until I stop again to clean it up and draw the lineart, then wait a few more days until I go and color it to finish and publish the answered ask. I have some drafts with a doodled answer waiting for a week or even two, still waiting for me to finish the art and post them. I'm having fun with these on my own time.

WITH ALL THAT SAID, I cannot afford Magic!Anons that demand for specific amounts of asks to be worked on, no matter how many. You gotta understand it: If I would start the M!A effect tomorrow, the first ask with that effect would show up like, one whole week AFTER or so. It just does NOT work here. Besides, I have some stories going on in the blog, like this entire thing about Marshall's incoming deafness, which took me what, let me see... Two weeks and half since I replied the first Anon who started it and it's still not done completely yet. I still got another interesting story to start and entertain you all with it, this other one has been waiting sitting in this blog's drafts for literally ONE MONTH now. I'm not gonna interrupt them with side effects.

If you want to dare my pups to do something funny or silly, that's cool! But it'll go for only your dare ask and that's it. I'm not gonna disturb other asks or RPs. Magic!Anons are to be fun and short and sadly I do not have the time to have anything going on for too long like that, not when it's something that changes appearances, or whatever like that.

I am not mad, or angry. I'm just asking for consideration. I am an exhausted and probably currently underweight old artist who just wants to have fun and have some food to go by every day. I'm not a tireless art machine. I'm doing this for fun, every day I wake up I'm glad to have started this askblog and see how much you guys enjoy it and enjoy my portrayal of these pups we love so much, it always makes me smile and feel like I can do some more and keep going, despite all things being against me. But sometimes I need to be firm and say no as well. I have my limits.

Thank you if you read this far. And please, don't ask who was it or what happened, I don't want anyone going after who tried to push this specific M!A here. They're a very nice person who just happened to insist on something I said no before, and I do not condone people attacking others on someone else's behalf, as much as your intention is to defend someone, that's just shitty attitude!

Let's go back to this blog's usual business, shall we? Though now I gotta get back to checking those exams answers, Idk if I'll get time to draw any other reply for tonight, maybe past midnight. I still need to stop and get up to go eat, ugh. ))

2024 Human Art VS 2019 Human Art !!!!!

I'm MEGA tired despite having slept after work, but I WON'T let that deter me from writing a description!! YAPNADO AHEAD;

FINN AND MARCOOO. FINNANMARCO. BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE ACOUSTICALLY AND FERALLY YELLED ABOUT MY 2 FICTIONAL MEN WHOM ARE CLOSE TO MY HEART.

I'm SO glad, that in the new drawing, Marco finally looks like the twink he always was, but still enough meat on the bones to look NORMAL lmao, can't say that about the 4 other sketches of me trying to redraw this ref for years. xD (why yes, his wings took forever, why do you ask? /lh)

I'M MEGA SUPER DUPER GLAD, that Finn FINALLY looks like a chubby, wild bastard TOO, OH TOOTHPASTE MAN, HOW MANY HEARTACHES YOU GAVE ME OVER STRUGGLING TO DRAW AN ENDOMORPHIC BODY TYPE. BUT I CAN NOWWWWWWWwwww!!!!!

God this habit of loudly reading out my posts as I type them made me realise what a bad Schwarzenegger impression I do on accident bc I'm overly excited to post something after a month of silence SDKFSKLDG

ONE THING I ALWAYS WANTED TO DO. IS PUT EVERY DETAIL I NEEDED ON A BIG REF. SO I DID! I've drawn closeups of the boys's eyes, I've drawn Finn's tongue so that I don't need to constantly remind myself what his blush and flesh colours were sdfkldsgkl, I FINALLY denoted their heights, so people know that they're tall TALL dudes (and that Finn obviously will struggle w/ his lanky mfing legs, we LOVE giving a middle-aged man heart attacks once he reaches his 40's!!!)

ANNDDD ALSO SOME SIDE VIEWS OF THEM. The last side-view I had of F & M, looked REAL bad. Like, Marco's face looked WAY too stereotypically European (to my fault bc surprise surprise not many African people live in Europe so I had poor frame of reference but I've been fixing it via looking up images online instead, at least it helps but yeah, I have a hard time so far unfortunately💀), Finn's was just... B u c k e t. NOT LIKE HANDSOME BUCKET. BUT JUST BUCKET. IT NEEDED FIXING (fun fact I accidentally made Finn have the most attractive jaw shape for men according to beauty standards and I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I JUST WANTED THIS MAN TO LOOK S Q U A R E AND THAT'S IT, MINECRAFT STEVE HAS MORE RIZZ THAN MOST MEN OFFICIALLY).

OH YEAH ALSO A CLAW REF AGAIN FOR FINN!!! His old ref looks too cool for me to give up on it tbh even as dated as it is sfjklsdglk, BUT I felt like I needed to redraw them properly.

FUNNILY ENOUGH A PERSON I COMMISSIONED SAID I HAVE SOME REALLY CLEAN AND NICE LINEART. I wish I heard that 5 years ago when I was really insecure about my bad lineart skills xD, I don't use lineart anymore nowadays outside of reference-drawings like these I don't plan to redraw in the next years unless necessary soooo yeah! They're gonna appear much rarer unless I go off and about making more ref sheets of all of my Sonc OC's sfklsdgsdfksdg

That's the only time I could empathise with someone, who wants to be an artist but LITERALLY can't bc they got dealt a bad hand in life. I chose to post this ref to my Tumblr first tho, bc I still wanna work on my drawing of Abbacchio,,,, he is quite dear to me and I'd love to put effort into a doodle of him that won't take too long. Like 4 hours or 5 hours tops. I still have yet to figure out, if his cute star shape on his head is a hat or part of his hair. Aspen - Character Portrait (in steps)

Everyone's process is different. Here's mine with a bit of shitty commentary.

1. thumbnail/concept/rough sketch

Call it what you will. I usually make 2-3 rough sketches of different poses or angles but for Aspen I had managed only one after a tiring day. Of course, if the client does not like it, I'd be more than happy to try sketching a different pose/scene til they are satisfied.

2. Lineart

3. Flat colors

Once the rough sketch is approved. I draw over it with some cleaner lineart. I don't draw the lineart for every single detail for example the silver on the corset or the water drops on the rose.

I usually finish both the lineart and flat colors at the same time so I didn't save a screenshot of just the lineart. For the flat colors I either color pick from the reference sheet or come up with them on my own. If the colors are too irritating to the eye I usually add a purple multiply layer on top to tone it down.

5. Lighting

added silver nail guards and beans. Defining the proper color palette, shading and light source. Plus decided to add the rose bush background from the concept sketch.

Painting

Now we move on to the fun part. The struggle is real. My personal go-to method for painting is cutting up the shapes into small pieces and working on each piece one by one without merging my dozens and dozens of clipped layers. If the amount of layers bloats the CSP file too much don't even bother merging them down because that doesn't decrease the size. I find it far more efficient to copy and paste all the layers onto a new canvas and save. You can turn 11GB into a mere 10MB.

Final renders

To finish off the piece. I either send it to my phone and use the app Photoshop Express to experiment with the filters OR I mess around with the color balance/tone curve/hue/contrast/gradient map and other correction layers in Clip Studio Paint til I'm satisfied with the output.

Then I add the 3D glitch auto-action in Clip Studio Paint. (You can find it and more on assets.clip-studio.com) Then I go set the grain effect in Photoshop Express to 20%. I know you can make a grain/noise effect on Clip Studio as well but I haven't figured it out yet. Photoshop Express makes it easier and did I mention it's free

I changed the patterns of Dark Danny's dress and changed some of the base colours of the whole design. I wanted him to look nicer in this little dress.

I drew him wearing a dress for the third or fourth time (probably more). I have a freaking weird little comic showing Dan in a dark blue dress here. 😂

He looks good in dark colours. Since his skin colour is really light, light colour clothes don't suit him that well (I can still manage to design light colour clothes for him, but he looks better in black or dark blue/red/brown sometimes. ). (He looks cheerful when he's in orange. Just see my previous post. ) Okay the truth is that I have to design the rhythm of value and sometimes I am lazy or tired, so I prefer to draw simple clothes. Honestly I need to design the value thingy better. 😂 (Btw my lineart is getting better and it looks cool. )

I promised to share the haunted dolls with you, and here is the concept art. The haunted doll that I draw a lot has a proper name now.

(This particular one) She's Button Lady, who is a really friendly and sweet neighbor. (Other designs might be used for other haunted dolls or just ordinary dolls. )

I also have some truly fearsome, aggressive and dangerous ghostly characters. The smiling little character is not included. The smiling one is just another lovely neighbor. The characters with six limbs are the truly ominous creatures.

Oh and I am calling them Softies! Hahaha🌚👍👍

These Softies hunt ghosts (I mean some certain "species", such as Ectopuses, Worms, Eels, humanoid ghosts and perhaps more. They are not cannibals btw. ) Then they "suck" the energy out of their prey. Usually, even if a Softie doesn't destroy other ghosts, it can still hurt other ghosts seriously by just passing through the prey, and some ghosts will really just die (ghosts in my AU will die 😂) because of serious injuries. The most horrifying thing is that the prey usually cannot fight back at all (unless with a special weapon or sth), because Softies can't be injured by ordinary ghosts. (They are perhaps like "ghosts" to the ghosts? )

However, Softies are often harmless to terrestrial animals and plants (maybe more?) of Earth.

As for halfas, Softies aren't too interested in them. But these creatures can really hurt halfas if they intend to do so. ( To be honest, I don't want Danny and Vlad to be the "only halfas"in this weird world, so there are more half ghosts, but most of them aren't "half humans". I know this concept is super weird but whatever. )

Alright, so Softies are similar to "soul suckers" ane they are freaking dangerous and scary.

I actually tried to colour a nice Softie with watercolour. I used watercolour to colour a cartoonic character for the first time, and I think it looks fine.

(My drawings aren't scary, and I am aware of this. Just look at the way I draw canon characters, they aren't even creepy. My OCs aren't scary either. And the name "Softie" is a bit rediculous, but it suits them, and I am always serious. My stuff just look like that and it's not like I can make sth kid-unfriendly. I don't want to draw sth that's really terrifying. So let's just pretend that the Softies are creepy. )

[Fanfiction Fanart]- ‘’Don’t...move.’’

I couldn’t wait anymore,ok? I couldn’t just patiently update my art blog up to date and THEN post the new art. But no. I finished this 2 days ago and I was on fire to finish setting up the blog so I can post it to be in order, but the hype just got to me. This is @dragonidpyrus12​ and this is my art blog as I try to migrate from dA. Anyways!  I present to you.. The snake scene from @xauroraxborealisx​ fanfiction: Netflix And Chill Chapter 2. Oh my, did I make a lot of mistakes here.. Hope you’ll be ok with it! T-T And I recommend zooming in because it’s a canvas of 3000x2000 pixels and Atem has a few details as well! Even the pod! But I might have done them too small T-T

Ok so let me explain. First things first, this is the actual second time I draw humans with actual proper clothes and that’s what honestly took so long. All of it. I’m horrible with clothes and I believe I am with humans too unless I reference my hand posing, which I did. Then here’s the perspective. No matter how much I’m bad at it, I still love to draw in perspective. Yugi is the closest to the camera, Atem a few feet away from him, the rocks they fell in-between have a shimmer of light going through and the snake. I made the snake huge so you can see the size difference! The only references I used from the movie were the ones for Yugi’s and Atem’s clothes. Mostly Yugi’s. But I also added my own little flare to it, the wrist band it’s a combination of leather and firm material, referenced from Hiccups suit in Race To The Edge and HTTYD 2. The legs are not the best, I must admit. I could have done better, but the perspective killed it for me sadly. Basically had to made the feet longer, so sorry about that.  One major thing I noticed only when I was done with the lineart is that you meant Yugi’s actual side and not the size of his head and I was actually scared to go back or continue so I had a break day before going back.Their leg poses are actually mirrored if you noticed,which it’s kind of funny because there wasn’t a mention of the positions of the legs and took my own take on that. The snake was honestly the easiest to draw from all this! And it’s so cute and looks so harmless at first :3   Fun fact: Atem was having a slipper shoe (I think thats the term, too tired atm) instead of an actual shoe and that seemed very unequiping regarding the situation XD  Also the background was different until I’ve re-read that part of the chapter for details to see what goes where exactly. 

Hope you like it though! I told you I want to draw the scene! Then I wanted to draw the gore and some extra, but that’s for another time...  Unwatermarked version goes to the author of the story and only them can use it :)

I finally finished my first drawing of Claude Von Riegan! This guy took FOREVER! The sketching, the lineart, the colouring, the SHADING (No idea how to shade, i just did whatever) Figuring out how to do the drippy drip with the nightsky and all that jazz. But he’s finally done :D

For once i actually took my time drawing? Normally i do everything in one session and get tired after a few hours but i legit took my time with him, it took multiple days and a lot of motivation but i’m rather proud of it? My first proper drawing that’s not a doodle or rushed and it came out alright.

He could certainly use improvements no doubt about that but this is fine, i hope you lot enjoy him as much as i do? :3

The Zesty Marching Band

 After many days sitting and doing this picture it’s finally done. Finally because I started to draw it around month ago, when Asteria gave us Marching Band gacha (with Mikleo in it). The proper lineart was the hardest part, with breaks (because I was busy at work and tired like hell) I think I spend around week on it alone. The coloring was faster, it only took me two days. I think from all pictures I ever made this is the most complex, most detailed and most packed with people thing. 

Now little info about designs... Well I used their official clothes colors for their band uniforms. Lailah has her Miko hairstyle (from Link/Asteria, I’m still sad Rays didn’t gave us Miko Lailah). Sorey plays drum, while Dezel has plates (this is how you call them in english?), Alisha and Rose clarinet (Rose gives Alisha some advice, it’s supper effective, Alisha is amazed ;) ) Lailah and Edna carries baton in this team (I didn’t draw one for her but if anything I think baton would be fine for Lailah)  

Back to hairstyles I went with lose hair for Alisha this time, and Rose has strange update of her marine hairstyle which was made for 2018 Tales of Festival (thought merch with those Rose and Alisha designs were on sale only this year). I thought about changing Edna’s hairstyle too but I let this idea go. Hmmm... Did I want to say something else? Maybe that I reduced some details on their hats and that thing which is hanging from their shoulder to chest (Asteria has more wires in this matter). This picture had already crazy number of details.
