THANK YOU for saying this, the character bashing from both sides can get tired really fast. There's honestly no villain in the movie, just a bunch of people who want to do what's best for the world and themselves.
That being said, I blame the writers for the whole bash war shit. Like, if they put more research and fleshed out the amendments more, then we could see why exactly we could agree with Cap or with Tony, but they just thrust us this vague idea and expected us to side with it or be against it. The whole conflict could've been managed with amendments, hell, even Tony suggested it at one point.
The Accords are political and the only way to engage in politics is with politics. The team should've tried to work through the amendments and get the stupid parts reworked. Like, there were some massive human rights violations in that thing, they could've easily put so many lawsuits that could've paused the Accords from happening in the first place.
Cap should've told Tony about his parents because that would've brought him closure and made him ready to accept that Bucky didn't do it on his own accord.
I mean, the man is a genius, I highly doubt he would've been so blinded by rage if he only knew about it. Should he have attacked Bucky? No, but was he totally unjustified?
Gimme a break. Try looking at the guy who murdered your parents standing next to you and be calm about it. Tony's riddled with so much PTSD at this point, he should have been eased into the revelation. And Steve had the perfect opportunity to do that. The man managed to forgive him during Endgame. He's capable of forgiveness. I also think it was kinda hypocritical of him to be so angry with Tony for keeping secrets in AOU while he was doing the same thing all along.
I can't blame Bucky for fighting back at the bunker, because the man's brain was still juiced. It's a miracle he didn't go straight-up winter soldier with someone attacking him with the same ferocity that Tony did.
And I maintain what Tony did with Wanda was right. Like, it was not humane, but with the climate at that moment, it was the best thing he could do to protect her when they called for her blood. Again, the whole thing with Accords was a political game. Using brute force against politics always ends up in disaster.
The movie could have been done better. They did not do the characters justice.
Team Captain v.s. Team Ironman
I've been wanting to write this for a little while, but I wanted to do some rewatching and research on the topic again.
This is my view on the topic of who was right, and who was wrong.
My answer? They were both right.
Let me explain:
Tony, after all the damage done that leads to this conflict, wants and does sign the accords. He wants the Avengers to be held accountable for the damages they cause and to have some restrictions so supers can't do anything they want willy nilly. He has the point here. People need rules and structure to avoid anarchy and chaos, to avoid things just ending up a mess.
Steve didn't want to sign the accords because his point was that the avengers couldn't be held down waiting for the green light, not when lives were at stake. His argument is made further when you take in the question of: 'who could actually hold this power?' Hydra invaded SHEILD, the government isn't safe either, and lord knows how corrupt politics are anyway. Hell, after Thanos snapped the government had to go make a consensus. Nobody could hold the avengers when lives were on the line.
Steve and Tony are both right. But they end up also being wrong too.
Tony is blinded by his overwhelming guilt at this point. After all he lost, the new trauma, and dealing with everything, Tony is hyper focused on redemption here. He wants to make up for the things he did, for the people lost in the cross fire. But he ends up not seeing the issues presented to him about signing the accords.
Signing the accords is a problem because, like I talked about with Steve's point, no one can simply have a leash on the heros. If they have to wait then people die, if they are leashed then Hydra would have been pulling the strings. Hydra invaded SHEILD and the government, if they pulled the strings then it's over. Not to mention that the person pushing the accords is General Ross, the man who hunted down Bruce to use him- to make the super soldier serum. General Ross is not an ally, he is a threat.
Steve was also wrong too. Avengers can't have full freedom to do whatever they please. Having powers being used recklessly and causing unnecessary damages to surroundings isn't a good thing. It's a risk to the people he wants to protect.
So Both are right and wrong. Mainly cause this conflict is complex, when you see the risks and factors of why things couldn't work one way or the other. But also remember, this is a conflict created by design too. Zemo had a part to play in this issue. Playing the game just right that would cause the leaders of the avengers to reach a boiling point on the argument that they split.
What I personally feel is that because of the trauma, pain, and exhaustion the two of them were dealing with when the accords were just presented that they were even in a good healthy mindset to even begin dealing with any of it. Both were stressed, dealing with issues on all sides, and couldn't see past the black and white view of absolutes. Steve and Tony were stuck on a chest board as pawns and both were fighting to win. Only we know how this ends up going.
I am Team Captain America AND Team Iron Man.
Cause in the end they are still a team, and I don't pick sides of my team- I choose all of them.
Bonus~
As an added part to this post I wanted to share my thoughts on Steve lying to Tony about his parents. It was wrong and unjustified, yes but I'm not talking about that. That is a simple fact. I want to explain my view on Steve's reasoning for this decision: He wanted to protect both friends of his. He wanted to protect Bucky cause he was brainwashed and innocent, he didn't want him hurt or kill for it. He wanted to protect Tony cause already he was traumatized, beaten, and utterly exhausted from so much happening. He didn't want Tony to have another thing on his mind that could potentially cause him to snap a part.
In the end it didn't matter, Tony finds out and everything falls from there. Steve here, from my pov, is the people who have the purest intentions and want the best for us, but end up making decisions that only harm us in the end unintentionally. When we make choice that we think help, but don't.
In conclusion: Do I think one or the other is wrong? No, both are right and wrong for their own reasons- making the answer a more complicated discussion.
Do I think Steve or Tony deserves the bashing they get from either side of the conflict? No. They are fundamentally human characters who wanted to do the right thing but were blinded by their own issues and too twisted and turned to properly communicate things.
Should either one be hated for these choices they made? No. They made the choice they did but in the end worked to fix what had been ripped apart, doing their best to mend that scar. They were adults about it and made up while finally having a more healthier mental state to deal with everything.
Are both still my favorite characters and ship? Fuck yes.

Enemies to lovers with Kenny Omega? 👉👈
please anon i love you! 🥺 enemies to lovers eh? well i am a fan of cheryl and toni from riverdale and their story so let’s see if i can pull this off
|remember to leave feedback and i love all you heathens|
‘Anyone Else but You’ Kenny Omega (Tyson) x fem!reader
^they admired each other from afar but wouldn’t dare to say anything. when matt and nick finally had enough, everything floats to the surface^
- mild inspo from ‘creep’ by radiohead and ‘stockholm syndrome’ by one direction (my bbys), and a scene from juno (im a lil sappy bruv) - also inspo from that bit in gravity falls where mabel locks dipper and wendy in that room in the bunker until dipper confessed to wendy - idk 3rd person just felt right
3rd Person POV:
Their disdain for one another was no secret. Out in the ring or behind the curtains, they wanted to and tried to tear each other apart. Interruptions, sly digs, passive aggressive comments were normal at this point. Even the fans thought it was just for show; until they attacked each other in the ring and referees had to pull them apart. Their friends couldn’t figure out why they hated each other so much. Among the many things they did have in common; it was the Young Bucks. The brothers were friends with both of them and they knew they had to end this.
After the two had settled down, Matt and Nick decided to do what any good friends would do: lock them in a vacated locker room until they made peace. A+ plan right? Matt would lure Tyson to the room and Nick lured Y/N. “Where the hell are you taking me?” Tyson questioned his friend. “Just taking a walk with my buddy so he can get his head on straight. Y/N is a great person, I can’t understand why you want to kill each other.” Tyson rolled his eyes and scoffed, “I have no clue what woman you know because the Y/N I am familiar with is a bitch.” They approached Nick outside a locker room door, Nick opened the door, Matt pushed Tyson in and quickly locked the door. Y/N looked up from her phone at the ruckus, “Nick? What the he- Are you fucking serious?” she swore as her eyes met her enemy. “Oh no, absolutely not,” he turned around to bang on the door, “Let me out man! This is bullshit!” “No. Not until you two work this out. This has gone on far too long.” Nick said through the barrier in between them. Then, he heard them walk off.
When they hadn’t come back to let them out after ten minutes, the rivals knew this was going to be a while. As time passed, he got to admire her a little closer. For the longest time, he had hidden how he really felt about her. Little did he know, she did the exact same. Cover up the attraction they had for each other with hate. He was pulled from his thoughts by her voice, which he actually quite liked. “Hell are you starting at, Smith?” “Y/N, I have a feeling we aren’t going to be let out any time soon so let’s cut the bullshit and get to the point.” She looked at him confused, “Which is?” she asked as she put her phone down. ‘Here goes nothing.’ he thought. “Why do you hate me so much?” Y/N blinked and raised her eyebrows. “I could ask the same. I was just serving back what you have been dishing out to me.” He sighed. “You think I hate you? I must be one hell of an actor. I don’t hate you Y/N, I actually really like you.” What he just admitted had her jaw in the netherworld. He continued, “I knew you had a reputation for being cold and closed off, but I was hoping you would’ve let me in. I just started matching your energy and pushed how I actually felt to the side. I gue-” He didn’t even finish his next sentence because she heard enough. Getting up and placing herself on his lap, she shut him up by kissing him with so much passion, he felt like he was floating. When they finally pulled away from each other, they just stared; processing what just happened. “It’s nice to know you don’t actually want to rip my head off.” she said half-joking, as a sentence along those lines had been exchanged a number of times before. He put his hand on her cheek, “Well if I did, I wouldn’t be able to look at your pretty face.” she smiled and looked down. “So your gear isn’t the only tacky thing about you?” he scoffed. Looking in his eyes, she felt the courage to ask; “Tyson? What does this mean for us?” He stroked her cheekbone with his thumb, “If you’ll have me, we take this at your speed. I know we’ll prompt questions but at least we don’t have to lie.” “I like that plan.” she kissed him again. His lips on hers was a feeling she could get used to. Another mutual feeling between the two.
They stayed like that for another hour until the door opened. “Well Matt, I’d say that worked.” “Hell yeah it did.” They high-fived. Y/N got up from Tyson’s lap and he led her out the door, hand in hand. “Go change. I’m taking you on a proper date. I’ll get you at your hotel room.” She smiled up at him and went to her locker room to grab her stuff so she could go back to her hotel room. Maybe getting lured to and locked in a random room wasn’t so bad after all?

No. It couldn't be possible. It had to be part of a terrible nightmare. Bucky couldn't have been kidnapped by Hydra again.
You didn't know what to expect in the ship flying to the secret location of the organization. For Stark, it didn't take more than a couple of minutes to track the arm down, since Shuri put a small monitor on it when the soldier stayed in Wakanda. She never told it, wanting to use it in some kind of circumstance like the one you all were going through now. And you couldn't be more grateful, but it didn't help to make you feel better.
You were sitting close to the back hatch. Back rested against the metallic wall and legs curled to your chest. Nothing inside your head more than the hallucination of a pair of blue eyes staring at you. Blaming yourself was something you couldn't avoid. You should have been with him, by his side, protecting him as many times you promised him. But in fact, you just failed him. You failed his trust, his love. You let them take him. Only God knew which torture Hydra was putting him under, while you were there, lamenting.
You didn't even notice Steve's presence squatting next to you until he placed a hand on your shoulder. Then, you raised your face towards him. He was suffering too. In the end, Bucky was his long-life friend, his big brother. He lost him once and felt like he was going to lose him twice. Although this time was different. You were carrying the dispositive that could put to sleep back the winter soldier, but, at what cost?
“Buck got you now. Everything is gonn—”. He spoke in plural, referring to your last night's talk.
“How could you be so calm, Steve? How do you do it?” You whispered through your trembling lips, about to break in crying.
“Because he needs us focused, not distracted”.
He was wise. Captain America was wiser than anyone in that ship. He curled the left corner of his lips up, trying to make you feel good, trying to transmit you the encouragement you needed to not give up. And he did, more or less. You had to fight harder than ever. For Bucky, and only for Bucky. That's why you didn't hesitate on jumping out from the ship when it landed on the cold hard ground, as the freezing weather hit you on the face.
Following the plan, you ran quietly to the back door hidden under a huge layer of snow. Shaking part of it with the palm of your hand, you placed the device with technology from Wakanda on the locker. Not later than fifteen seconds, it deciphered the code to open the hatch. Once in position, the Avengers followed you downstairs. The passage was empty and silent. The only sound that broke it was a couple of rats running away from your presence. You all had studied the plans of the building, mostly underground, remembering exactly where you had to go.
The coast was clear, that was the reason why you all were so confused. You were expecting to find more than a dozen of agents, but when T'Challa enunciated through your earwigs that he only located two heat spots, you couldn't believe it. How only one man kidnapped the most fearless assassin up to now? Tortuous and bitter screams dragged you back to reality, causing your brain to react to make your legs run faster than ever in your whole damn life. You knew by heart that voice beneath all the pain.
Your skin bristled when your gaze landed on that chair of horrors, connected to an enormous power source. Bucky was sitting there against his want.
“... добросердечный… возвращение на родину… один…”
“STOP IT”. Steve yelled.
Huge mistake. You were aware of it when —yes— that man stopped reciting the Russian words to re-activate the Winter Soldier, but only enough time to push a red button near to him and close the heavy door in front of you. Everything happened in the blink of an eye. At the moment you glimpsed Steve’s shield sliding above the floor, straight to the inside of the room where Bucky was being tortured, you followed the same way. Never in your life, you were this fast. Like a lightning bolt, you snaked yourself under the small distance between the door and the ground before being closed. Now, it was you, that man and the soldier.
“You’re late…” He mocked with an awful American accent, under James crying out loud in pain. “грузовой ваг—”.
Your left hand moved quickly to unholster your gun and shoot him. One… Two… Three… Four bullets right to his head. The man fell dead before he couldn’t complete the command. You didn’t lose time, running to the controls to try to turn that machine off. But it was impossible. Even if you knew Tony could do it, there wasn’t signal inside those large and wide walls made of steel reinforced. You were in one of those abandoned soviet bunkers, that could save you from Armageddon. You were inhaling and exhaling so fast that your lungs never got really full, trying to focus, trying to shut every single noise around up. Trying to think of a plan b. But it was your heart who pushed you to act and not your brain. Grabbing Steve’s shield, you aimed for the energy source before tossing it like a damn frisbee.
That thing blew up, turning off any kind of light and dispositive around, as the sparks and the cables decorated your surroundings. Just like the fire that started to burn down a pile of boxes with different documents of Hydra. But that wasn't why you were impatient. Catching the shield when it came back to you, your legs moved immediately to Bucky, still stirring on his seat for a few seconds else. Then, he simply stopped shaking. Her eyes were wide opened. Reddened, in tears. His chest rose and fell violently. His heart was racing. And you could see the trauma taking control over his body in holy silence.
You didn't doubt removing the protection from his mouth along the restraints keeping him on the chair. Your fingers trembled like never before, not having any more time to lose. Probably, the Avengers would be trying to open the door when the emergency red lights illuminated the bunker, producing a loud alarm sound to indicate that something was going wrong inside the facilities.
“C'mon, Buck… C'mon, we have to leave”. You told him, trying to help him to stand up.
But as soon as your hand was about to land on his arm of vibranium, the five cold digits got closed around your throat. Soon, the lack of air for you was more than evident. He got up on his own, not needing you to do it. The ocean blue in his eyes turned into a dark storm. There wasn't any gesture on his face, more than his jaw clenching, pressing his teeth together. That wasn't Bucky —your Bucky—, but the unstable trained assassin Hydra turned him in. You could barely gulp saliva, gripping his metallic wrist with both of your hands to try to stop him from murdering you.
He couldn't. He couldn't kill you. His strength was suffocating you with no mercy, though.
For a moment, you felt too weak to fight, seeing everything around you getting blurred and darker. Blacking out. But there was something inside you, a sweet tone of voice calling your name. A male voice. Your eyelids rolled down bit by bit, wanting to concentrate on that honeyed sound being closer and closer.
“любить”.
The sore whisper left your lips. Love. The first time Bucky told you about love came to your mind. He told you about his family. George, Winnifred, Rebecca. He told you how much he desired to have a family of his own. To be loved.
“новый”.
Your almost dead fingers traced the form of his new arm made in Wakanda when you felt him lifting you from the floor, being suspended on air.
“сороковых годов”.
Trying to keep a firm tone of voice as much as the pressure let you, the Russian words were spat to the confused soldier, who wasn't understanding what you were doing. The forties changed his life. He was sent to war and, lately, captured by HYDRA. It was something he'd never forget, part of his DNA.
“заката”.
You didn't know what the hell your subconscious was doing either till that precise instant. You were reprogramming him. You were using his own memories to reset his wiped brain from them. Dusk. The first night he spent in Wakanda, Bucky was terrified. But you stayed with him. You comforted him by saying that everything was going to be okay, that his life would be different. That he was safe. That he was at home.
“лето”.
His last night of summer in that kingdom, Bucky took you to his favorite place between the woods, wanting to show you the fireflies fluttering in the middle of the gloom. He used to walk there whenever he woke up from a nightmare. Those small insects used to make him feel better for some reason he didn't comprehend. Until he saw their light reflecting on your amazed orbs. Bucky knew then he was in love with you. Besides his long-life friend, the only person who never judged him, who never ran away from him. The same person that now was dying under his fingers.
“шесть”
Six years took him to be Bucky, after his last war, after the last effort, after the last jump. He was a new man. You made him a new man. A good one. You guided him through the right way. You helped him to get used to the twenty-one century. You accompanied him to therapy and stayed in the waiting room every single session until he finished.
“заткнуться”.
The soldier ordered you to shut up, earning quite the opposite when you knew it was sorting some kind of effect on him, as soon as you felt some relief by the grip loosening around your throat and your tiptoes touching the ground. Little by little, you opened your eyes again, gluing them on the blue ones fixed on you.
“боец”.
He wasn't a super soldier, he was a fighter. He spent the last six years of his life fighting for it, fighting for ruling his existence, fighting for being pardoned for crimes he didn't want to commit, fighting for your love. Bucky furrowed swallowing, allowing you to place your feet on the floor.
“Бруклин”.
And when he demonstrated to the world that he was no longer the Winter Soldier, but James Bucky Barnes, he moved to his birthplace. Brooklyn. You and he rented an apartment together when you both learned that you couldn't live apart. That you were made for each other.
“Отец…”
A tear ran down your cheek, slowly moving your left hand to his free one. A shiver toured his backbone when he felt your warm touch holding his hand and, even if his cold fingers were still around your throat, the soldier bowed his head to follow the connection between the two of you. His flesh hand landed on your stomach, pressing it under yours, trying to transmit to him the news about your pregnancy status. Bucky was going to be a father. You were going to build a family as he always wished.
“Свобода”.
As the sob escaped your soul, his hand made of vibranium released your neck. Freedom was what he got after all those years.
Bucky was free.
His hold was the only thing that kept you on your feet, pining to the cold hard ground, as well as you trying to fill your lungs with the heavy air around you because of the dense smoke coming from the flames burning down that damn place. You watched Bucky picking the shield close to you, probably believing it could be easier to kill you with it than with his own hands. Your arms automatically wrapped your abdomen, as if you could protect your unborn child from that horror, crying James' name to remember you.
“James… James…”
You weren't able to stop whining, feeling a heavy sorrow under your chest, covering your vitals organs. The noisy sound from the bunker was suddenly turned into a constant beep, beep, beep that caused you to frown yet keeping your eyes closed. You called him once and again until a warm hand laced his fingers with you. Peace invaded you eventually, after a fond squeeze around your skin followed by a pair of rough lips pressed on your forehead. You let yourself go, not finding any strength inside your heart to continue awake.
The next time you opened your eyes, you needed a moment to adjust your gaze to the sunlight. Purring feeling more comfortable than before, you rolled on your stomach, sinking your nose into the large pillow. Bucky's scent was like a punch of reality. Your eyes snapped open as your pulse increased, starting to panic. Sitting up, your orbs moved quickly all around the room you recognized instantly. It was your dorm in the Compound, the one you used to share with your boyfriend —and the father of your child. It was empty. No trace of James anywhere. You tossed away the oxygen mask and the sheets covering your stiff anatomy, getting up from the bed. Another huge mistake.
Everything spun around you, feeling strong dizziness hitting your head, having to sit down for a second. But as soon as you felt recovered, you stood up again walking straight to the main door to step out. The hallway was deserted, hearing some voices coming from the meeting room. You followed them slowly, finding balance with your palm against the walls. Sam was the first one noticing your presence, coming faster to help you.
“James… James…” You mumbled, not really sure about when you started to sob again, whilst your muscles got tense with every syllable.
“He's okay, he's okay, take it easy, girl”. He tried to calm you as Steve reached you to bring you to the closest chair.
“We don't know what you did… but even if that man introduced the commands again… you turned it off”. Natasha spoke this time.
“I re— I repro— reprogramed him”.
The confusion was more than evident between the Avengers present in the room. But no one of them had the need to ask how. The spy taught you Russian in your free time, you weren't a fluent speaker, but it was enough to have a chat. Even so, you weren't going to say the words you used. You weren't going to make Bucky go through another wipe. If they worked, you'd make sure that he'd hear them when the occasion required it.
“I wan— wanna see him… please”. You cried covering your face with both hands, desolated after the hell of the situation you had to live.
“He's resting”. Steve informed you, squatting close and placing a hand on your right thigh to gently caress it. “And you should do the same. For your baby”.
“There's no way you're gonna stop me from seeing him”. You replied, raising your head and looking at him through your eyelids. Silently pleading.
He snorted, convinced that you wouldn't change your mind. Nodding two times with his head, he stood up and offered you a hand to hold it and help you to walk. Steve guided you through upstairs, following your pace step by step —he could have carried you onto his arms, but he wasn't sure if he could hurt you accidentally. You were too weak, barely breathing properly because of all the smoke you swollen inside the bunker. Although you started to feel somewhat erratic and excited as you were coming to Bucky's old dorm.
Steve opened the door for you, letting you walk inside before closing it behind your back. Your boyfriend was peacefully sleeping under the sheets. There were some scars on his face, already healed but yet seeming painful. The only explanation you found to be there was that Bucky used the shield to open the door and take you out of the bunker. A theory that made more sense when you noticed that he hadn't his prosthesis and his shoulder was covered by a thin black microfiber.
You headed to the bed, tucking in to wrap his warm and heavy body between your arms. At the moment he felt you, he embraced you as better as he could, not opening his eyes but shedding a tear. His lips started to tremble as you pecked them, previous to hiding his face into your neck.
“I'm so sorry…” Bucky sobbed, causing your whole anatomy to shudder because of the sorrow in his voice.
“We're gonna be okay, my love… You, me, our baby… Our family”.
His crying increased after those two words, caressing his back slowly to comfort him somehow. You knew that this recovery would be hard and painful, being conscious of how close he had been to end with your life. He didn't want to do it, nobody could deny it. You were everything he had, everything he always wished for deep inside his soul and heart. And the acknowledgment of having a baby with you only provoked him to feel guiltier.
But as you said so, everything was going to be okay.

What makes this problem interesting, however, is the fact that the original intention for Civil War's ending was to have the Avengers all come back together in order to fight the five super-soldiers.
By having the Winter Soldiers actually fight our heroes, you'd have the added bonus of getting to see why Bucky said they were him but much worse (due to them being loyal HYDRA agents whereas Bucky was a captured prisoner). Like, whereas Bucky appears to have largely gone for clean kills, these five Winter Soldiers are sadists who go out of their way to inflict maximum pain on their victims.
One has to wonder how the problem of having not only Wanda but also Vision available to fight the super-soldiers would have been handled in that case.
Yeah if Vision were there, he'd probably either try to reason with Tony, or change sides and help Steve take Tony down.
This then opens up the possibility for the scene to end either by Tony getting distracted from his rage by the attack and managing the astounding feat of actually having a discussion with the three of them, or by Tony being extremely petty and still trying to attack Bucky, at which point Wanda could just hold him back and force him to listen to them, and the lack of further action would not be felt.
If it goes the route of "Tony is distracted enough from his rage by the other Winter Soldiers attacking", Steve definitely might be able to get through to him by convincing him, "Tony, you have a right to be upset. But you know who's to blame for all this? Arnim Zola, the guy who tortured him. And not just him. But also Colonel Phillips, Agent Carter, and your father." And the shock of being told "Your father and Agent Carter made it possible for a war criminal to resurrect HYDRA from within SHIELD. That's why I was so hesitant to divulge what Nat and I saw in the bunker that day; because I was also having to process the fact that these people I trusted actually had some nasty secrets of their own" might kill a lot of the remaining rage that Tony has.
Because Tony was doing something so heinous, the entire scene from beginning to end was presented entirely from his perspective in order to maintain the illusion that he had ground to stand on; Steve's perspective was not explored at all.
Yes, if the framing were to properly handle things, they would've focused on Steve trying to get Bucky away from a Tony on the warpath, while Tony gets none of those in-helm camera shots and has fewer words (in other words, he's more like when we saw him in Gulmira in Iron Man).
What makes this problem interesting, however, is the fact that the original intention for Civil War's ending was to have the Avengers all come back together in order to fight the five super-soldiers. [...] But assuming that the end battle was just Steve, Bucky, Tony, and Wanda, I think that not killing off the super-soldiers would have fairly well solved the power-problem. If Zemo unleashed the super-soldiers on them after showing the video, having Steve, Bucky, and Tony each take one and Wanda take two (or even three if Tony for some reason refused to help) would be a pretty fair distribution. And this would have satisfied the need for an action scene.
This actually makes me wonder, had they gone this route, what standing would the Avengers be on come Infinity War? Are they still fugitives as in canon, or do they hand Zemo over and use that to barter Ross to let them go free as well as barter the release of their captured teammates from the Raft (if any were still captured in the airport battle)?
And in these fights with the Winter Soldiers, not only is there what I mentioned before about them being worse people than Bucky because of them being loyal HYDRA agents, but this would definitely make these fights a bit different than fights Bucky had as the Winter Soldier in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Like, Bucky having a cybernetic left arm puts him at a disadvantage, Wanda actually has to use her mind powers, they aren't all that fazed by Steve's shield, etc.
If you could pick one person on Team Cap to escape the airport battle with Steve and Bucky rather than get captured, who would it be? Wanda? Scott? Sam? Or Clint?
That's a very hard question, but I think I'm going to go with Sam.
The trick of it is, escaping the airport brings us into the film's third act - The climax of which will be Steve and Bucky fighting an impossible uphill battle against a homicidal angry and (initially) fully battle-ready Iron Man.
All of the tension of this climactic fight comes from the fact that holy shit they are fighting Iron Man, and literally any weapon on his suit could easily vaporize them. Tony is the invincible dragon that must be slain, while Steve is the hopeless knight with sword and enchanted shield who must find some desperate means to slay it.
If you ruin that tension, the ending fight's going to be pretty shit. Which means anybody who could reasonably go toe-to-toe with Iron Man 1v1 or even shitstomp him has to be out. That means definitely not Wanda and probably not Scott.
That leaves Clint and Sam. Clint's really just here for the paycheck; He has nothing to do with anything in this movie. But Sam? Sam's a very important Captain America supporting character who they keep finding reasons to keep him offscreen when very important Captain America things are happening.
Like, it's almost criminal how underutilized Sam is before he fucking becomes Captain America.
Sam isn't so overpowered that his inclusion would ruin the tension of the Iron Man fight. And his presence would complement the "Just some bros taking on the insurmountable and beating it with the strength of their bond" dynamic, rather than detract from it. So he's the one who gets my vote.

Lost In Battle
Today was Y/N’s birthday and both Steve and Bucky insisted on celebrating it to the highest degree. They tried to convince her tp throw a Stark-esque party. But that was a no go. Y/N was a simple girl, and she hated people making a fuss over her. They tried to force her to have a party, but Y/N wasn’t budging. Steve suggested a surprise party but that idea was clearly a bad idea, given the nature of their jobs. So Y/N agreed that they could take her out shopping and for cake, she didn’t want to but did it to make them happy. Y/N hated her birthday, and not in the way most people say they hate their birthday but they just pretend to. Y/N actually hated it.
But regardless of that fact Y/N, Steve and Bucky were out and about. Y/N was alone at the moment because Steve and Bucky were getting Y/N a chocolate cupcake. Suddenly Bucky’s phone rang, it was Y/N so he picked up.
“Sorry we are taking so long, you know Steve can’t hold his water. Do you think Wanda would want a cookie or a cupcak-” Bucky said picking up the phone.
“ Bucky I think someone is watching me. Where is Steve? Tell Steve to call Tony. I’m 65% sure that they are HYDRA.” Y/N said in one breath.
“ Okay. Stay where you are. ”
“Copy that.” Y/N said. There was a brief moment of silence of silence before Bucky heard her breath on th , before she broke the silence. “ Now I’m 98% sure it’s HYDRA. He’s armed.”
Y/N tried too look as inconspicuous as possible, which was working in her favor. She stood there on the phone with Bucky talking about a super secret nazi organization. Meanwhile in the bakery, Steve finally came out of the bathroom with his classic smirk. But that smirk darkened when he saw Bucky’s dark look on his face.
“ You need to call the team. Right now.” Bucky told Steve once he was in an earshot.
Y/n could here a bit of Steve calling Tony, but didn’t here much of the conversation. Y/N glanced over shoulder, to see the man that she thought was trailing her was looking direction. Looking directly at her, he waved at her and smiled. Y/N tilted her head in confusion, the man just pointed at his chest. She looked down at her chest and saw a red target. Crap. She looked back at the man, as he pulled out something that looked like a remote control for a racecar. Double crap.
“ Bucky, I can’t stay here. They got a line on me.” Y/N said to the phone. She looked like she was about to hang it up, but instead took off in a sprint. Bucky could hear her breathing hard on the other line. “ I think that there is a bomb, I’m pretty sure I saw a flip switch but I’m not sure.”
Y/N was bobbing and weaving through the crowd of people. People looked at her in confusion but payed no real mind to her, they just thought she was late or something. She was scanning the top of the rooftops for the sniper and saw two familiar forms atop the roof running along beside her. Jumping from roof to roof. She smiled in relief, there were her super soilders.
“ I see someone.” She heard Steve yelled through the phone.
“ That’s you right?” She asked just to be safe, and sighed when she heard a breathy yes on the other line. She pulled her airpods out of her backpocket and shoved one in her ear. She shoved the phone in her back pocket, so she could run faster without having to keep the phone up to her ear. She could hear Bucky’s hard breathing on the other end of the line, it put her at ease to know that they always had her back.
Y/N could see the man that Bucky and Steve were chasing, he was running oddly slow, but that didn’t matter at the time to the trio at the time. Just before Steve caught up with him, he jumped off the roof, and to a narrow alleyway. Y/N turned the saw him jump off the roof and turn into the alleyway. She turned to see 3 masked guns all pointing at her. She muttered a quick.” DON’T MOVE”, causing Steve and Bucky to stop running, and watch from the roof tops. They couldn’t hear the conversation. They just saw Y/N put her hands behind her head like she was surrendering, but Bucky and Steve knew better than that. She put her hands behind her head and reached behind her hair, and pull out 2 small handguns, and shooting the 2 closest assailants.
She pointed the guns and the third person, and the third person pointed it at her, but they were both at a standstill. Bucky and Steve waited for Y/N’s signal, but instead herd her whisper a shaky hold. They that her chest was heaving and her knees were shaking ever so slightly. The man pointing at Y/N, dropped the gun and pulled off his mask.
Bucky and Steve saw Y/N drop the guns and stumble backwards. Bucky heard Y/N gasp loudly through the phone. Y/N saw the face of the masked man and felt her heartbeat quicken. She couldn’t breathe, or hear hear Bucky and Steve through the phone, or see Bucky and Steve coming to her aid. She could only know one thing at the moment. Run. It all happened far too quickly for both Steve and Bucky. By the time they had climbed down the latter both Y/N and the masked man were long gone.
Y/N took off in the direction that she came. She ran through crowds of people nervously. She bumped into people and stumbled over but didn’t seem to care that much. To be honest she didn’t even know where she was running too, just that she had to leave. Her mind was spinning in circles, and her legs kept failing her. Her airpod fell out of her ear, and her phone fell out of her pocket a few blocks ago, so she was on her own. The only thing that she could think about was him being dead. He was supposed to be dead. There was no way in hell that he could possibly be alive.
Y/N ran for what felt like miles, though it was only a few blocks. She felt her legs growing weak and felt her feet slipping from up under her. She did her best to try and stay quiet. To give her credit she was, hot tears streamed down her face as she quietly gasped for air. Then she felt something sharp hit her neck and then the world went dark.
Y/N woke up in a white room with yellow lights. To her surprise she wasn’t tied up, or strapped down, or drugged. She was just there, a bit cold but that was just a nitpick. She looked around the room and saw a guy sitting at his desk, doing what looked to be paperwork. He stopped scribbling and looked up.
“ Glad to see that you are up.” He said.
“ Thought you were dead.” Y/N said. Her voice was softer than usual.
“ I could say the same to you.”
“ Why am I here?”
“ Can’t a father say hello to his daughter on her birthday?”
“ Odd way to wish someone a happy birthday. Where am I?”
“ I can’t tell you that.”
“What can you tell me?”
“ I can tell you you that AIM will kill you if you leave here. I can’t stop you from leaving, but if you join AIM and help with or projects I can protect you. “
“ What do you mean if I leave?”
“ Exactly what I said.”
“ I can leave?”
“ Yes you can.”
“ Will you kill me if I try.”
“ No. But just to be clear, if you leave, you will no longer be my daughter.”
“ You stopped being my father a long time ago.”
This seemed to anger the man, he stood up from his desk. His face face turned red like he was restraining himself from yelling. His arm extended outward towards Y/N. She gulped in anticipation, she knew what was coming. She felt herself flying across the room towards her. Her neck flew into his hand like a magnet. He squeezed so tight Y/N thought her neck would brake. She didn’t even fight back, that would only make it worse. If she took her punishment then she would be okay. After a while he got lazy and gave up. He tossed her aside like trash. She tried to stand but collapsed from coughing and trying to regain any breath that she lost.
Her father walked towards her and kicked her in the chest. He muttered a get out under his breath and went back at his desk. He didn’t even look at her, or say goodbye. Just tossed her away like she was trash. After a few minutes Y/N regained her breath and left the room. The dark hallway was empty, the whole building was empty. She found the exit rather quickly, which would have made her second guess things had she been thinking clearly. But she wasn’t. She exited the building which now looked to be more of a bunker, and took off in a random direction.
“
She soon heard a familiar set of bike tracks , and breathed in relief. She started whistled for her super soliders to come save her. At the sound of her whistling the two men almost doubled their pace to save their girl. They saw her, running through the forest. They hopped of their bikes and ran into eachothers arms. They collapsed into each others embrace. Steve broke the hug to look at her, surprised to see that she looked mostly okay. She was favoring her left side a bit, but mostly okay.
“Tony, we got her.” Steve said through comms.
“Okay, were headed to your location” Clint replied back. “We are 16 minutes out.”
No bruises, or cuts, just fine. All of a sudden, she heard footsteps behind her crunching in the dirt. She knew those footsteps. They all turned around to see Y/N’s father standing in front of them, he was holding something, though everyone already knew what it was.
“ You’re just like your brother.” Her father yelled, and without warning threw the grenade directly them. Y/N pushed both Bucky and Steve behind her, and took the grenade to the stomach. It exploded on impact sending her flying backwards and dozens of bits of shrapnel into her chest. Bucky without thinking shot the man in the head.
Y/N was on the ground, lying on her back, she was passed out, very much alive. But when she would wake up she would wish she were dead. Bucky and Steve ran over to Y/N. They looked at her lifeless shrapnel ridden body, unsure of what to do. Bucky picked up one of the only pieces of shrapnel not in Y/N’s body.
“ Steve.” He said tapping Steve on the shoulder, but he was too distracted taking Y/N’s pulse. “ Steve.” This one got his attention. “ Look at this.” He said holding up the piece of shrapnel.
“No..no,no no...this is bad.” Steve said looking between Bucky and Y/N, who was still passed out.
Both Steve and Bucky knew that grenade. They remembered it from the war. That grenade had special shrapnel. The shrapnel was soaked in some sort of fast acting poison, that killed you within minutes. The shrapnel was embedded+ with a biological agent, with expanding barbs, so once it hit something it would expand making it hard to pull out. The only way you would survive was if you had the antidote, or if you pulled them out. Needless to say every time they saw that grenade, they watched someone have a slow painful death.
“How far out are you guys?” Steve asked touching the comms. He sighed when he got the response. They didn’t have 10 minutes.
Steve took out his first aid kit, and so did Bucky. They hovered over her lifeless body and began picking the pieces of metal out of her chest and stomach. Suddenly Y/N awoke with a gasp, both Bucky and Steve heard, they felt her body tense. They could feel her writhing in pain, and shaking and kicking violently. She kept gasping for air and moaning loudly. She kept trying to sit up, she was moving so much they couldn’t get the shrapnel.
“ Buck keep her still.” Steve said, his voice shaken slightly.
“ Stevie is that you?” Her voice shaking and hot tears rolling down her face.
“ Yeah it’s me sweet girl, but I need you to try and hold still.” Steve said making himself visible, hoping it would calm her down a bit. And it did, she calmed down a bit. Bucky soon came into view, Steve looked at Bucky with sad eyes, they both knew what was about to happen. Steve left her view and got back to work. Y/N lurched upwards as Steve pulled a piece of metal deep from her skin. She moaned loudly as but Bucky gently held her down gently.
“ Its okay....its okay. I know it hurts doll, but you have to stay still.” Bucky said, pushing her back down causing Y/N to yelp in pain.
“ I’m sorry. I won’t tell anyone. Please stop.” Y/N moaned through yelling. “ I promise I’ll be good.” She said through loud sobs. She began to kick her legs and buck her hips to try to get them to stop hurting her. Steve sat on her thighs to keep her as still as possible. Y/N tried to fight back, but it didn’t work. Y/N worked about 100lbs soaking wet, and Steve weighed about 240 on a bad day.
Y/N started moaning and sobbing louder begging for the pain to end. She kept trying to left her chest but Bucky forced her back down. He was avoiding using his metal arm cause he promised he would never hurt her, and he felt that he was. He tried to keep her down with one arm, but with every piece of shrapnel Steve pulled out she fought back harder, and moaned louder.
“ Buck.” He herd Steve say, his voice quivering.
“Please stay still.” Bucky pleaded, “ Please don’t make me do this.” Bucky begged, but Y/N wasn’t listening. Bucky used his metal arm, to forcing her back down to the ground.
“ Bucky make him stop, please make him stop. Steve stop, please.” She begged the both of them. They tried to ignore it but the sound of their babygirl’s scream was boring through their eardrums. Bucky looked away, he couldn’t look her in the eyes. His eyes where filled with white hot tears.He blinked them away and tried his best to comfort his girl. He used his human arm to stroke her hair.
“ You are doing so well. I’m so proud of you. I know it hurts doll but we are almost done, I promise.” He said, causing her yelling to quiet down to no more than a quiet begging. Steve could hear the quinjet flying closer.
“ Please, please, please, please, please, please. I’ll be good. I won’t do it again. Please make it stop.” She said through quiet sobs.
“ It’s okay, you’re okay. I know, I know it hurts doll. You’re doing so great, you are going to be okay I promise. Steve is almost done, and when we get home, we will get as many dogs as you want. I promise.”
Y/N nodded, and squeezed her eyes tightly, her lips clenched between her teeth tears streamed from the side of her eyes. They could hear the quinjet quickly approaching which gave Y/N an odd sort of comfort. Before she knew it, it was right on top of them, Natasha jumped out attached to a wire and landed on the ground. She had a needle in her hand, and as soon as she landed she ran towards her and put it in Y/N’s neck. Y/N felt her body go numb, then she felt really tired, and she fell asleep. That is the last thing Y/N remembered.

almost [toni shalifoe]
toni shalifoe x reader
requested: You’re an amazing writer! I had this promt for a while now where reader is Shelby’s best friend and Toni’s gf and once they get to the bunkers they find out about everything and try to escape the building but get followd by agents from all sides and the girls are scared for their lives and once they get the oppurtunity to escape the reader offers herself (maybe an agent was about to catch Shelby) and Toni and Shelby (they both don’t want to let go and are in hysterics) as well as the other girls lose it when readers screams and begs them to leave her and get to safety. Pretty heavy angst that you write so amazingly, it would be so nice to see you bring this idea to life.
*not my gif*
The walls started to be the only thing you can remember seeing. The weird wooden paneling in what felt like a fucking holding cell for prisoners’ on death row. You can’t remember what the sky looked like or the stars. All you can remember is this stupid quarantine room that you were put in after you got, quote on quote: saved, from the island.
You haven’t seen any of the girls since you’ve been saved. And you really wished you could’ve, you’ve missed their personalities. Rachel’s determination. Dot’s sarcasm. Fatin’s inappropriate jokes. Leah’s intelligence. Shelby’s kind heart. And lastly, your girlfriend Toni’s protectiveness. All of them, everything about them, you wish you had with you right now.
All of a sudden the entire power went out. The lights shut off and the camera that watches you 24/7 was down. There were footsteps echoing throughout the hallway until it stopped right in front of the door. You waited for the door to open, but it didn’t. It was like there was a moment of hesitation before something was slipped under the door and the footsteps echoed away.
A small piece of paper, written in a handwriting that was quite familiar. You’ve seen this handwriting in Nora’s notebook. From the one and only Leah Rilke, saying: We were right...
All of the conspiracy theories that we once thought were crazy, were actually true. After the shark attack that made us lose Nora and Rachel’s hand, Leah told us everything. From her finding Jeanette’s second phone to seeing Nora talk to a camera in the trees. You all thought it was crazy, until the questions that Dr. Fader and Agent Young asked could’ve only been known if they were on the island.
You flipped the paper over, seeing that there was something else written: Escape plan ???.
The next few days were quiet. You didn’t quite know what to do with yourself. Until finally, your door swung open. Fader and Young were both standing there with hands in their pockets, “You ready to see the girls?”
Your eyes lit up for the first time since you got there. Happiness overwhelming your body at the chance to see the only people who have been keeping your mind sane in that Hell hole.
You shot up from off the bed and followed them into the corridor. But not before trying to examine each hall, to find some sort of exit plan. Then it all came to a view, your favorite people in the entire world.
“Toni?” you whispered and she turned around to face you. A huge smile formed onto her face before she wrapped her arms around you.
You let out a sigh of relief. Your whole body seemed to relax at the slightest touch, “Hi love.” she whispered, holding you tightly.
The two of you let go and you see your best friend. Her long lucious blonde locks no longer there, but rather a buzz cut replacing it. You know you shouldn’t have laughed, but c’mon it’s your best friend. The two of you make fun of each other all of the time.
“You like it?” she asked, pretending to flip her hair over her shoulder.
You bursted out laughing, “Oh yeah! Getting a little bit of Caillou vibes from it.”
She pushed you back softly, before grabbing your shoulders and ultimately bringing you into a hug of your own, “I’ve missed you.” she whispered.
“I’ve missed you too...” you begin to say with seriousness, but you couldn’t help the nickname that popped into your head, “...Shelbald.”
Everyone in the coordior seemed to have busted out laughing at the nickname, “I hate you.” Shelby said.
“Mhmm, I hate you too.” you said, pulling away from the hug. Going around the room to hug all of the other girls.
Once all of you realized that you were alone, without the two agents watching your every move, you decided to catch up on the plan.
“How is this gonna work, Leah? I mean how did you get the notes out to us in the first place?” you asked. A question that has been flooding your thoughts for quite some time now.
She had a small smirk on her face, “We have an ally on the inside.” she said, bringing her voice to a whisper, “I have these napkins for all of you. We’re gonna put them in our door before closing. It’ll give us a chance to not allow it to close.”
Leah handed everyone a napkin. All of us clenching them in our fist, trying to hide it as much as possible.
“Our ally is gonna cut the power like they did when they slipped the note to everyone for me. We’re all gonna run and meet here at the corridor. He told me where the secret exit is and we’re gonna get out through there. The rest of the plan from there is a little fuzzy, but escaping is the most important part.” she explained.
There was a tense silence between everyone for a little bit. Before we all broke out into smiles, “Leah,” Rachel began, “Thank God for your craziness. It’s gonna save our asses!”
“Hell yeah it will!” Fatin exclaimed. All of you laughed along with each other. A sudden weight being lifted from your shoulders, like for once in the past few months everything was gonna be okay.
God, how you were so wrong.
“When is this happening?” Dot asked.
Leah’s lips quirked into a smirk, “Tonight.”
After a couple more hours, the two agents came back. Escorting us one by one to our rooms. We bid each other goodbye before walking into our rooms. As our doors close, all of us stuffing a napkin into them. The slow sounds of footsteps slowly fading away down the hallway, you pushed the door open a little and low and behold...it opened.
You pretended to act the normal the entire rest of the day. Lying in bed, pretending to be upset with the world. It’s not like that part changed, but at least now there was a glimmer of hope at the end of the road. You didn’t know what time it was, it could’ve been 10pm or 2am or 4am, but all of the lights shut off again. And you watched as the cameras fell, like they have been disarmed.
You let out a deep breath, trying to calm your nerves, “Let’s do this.”
Slowly, you stepped out of the room, looking up and down the hallway. The coast was clear. You ran out of your room, trying to not make a lot of noise. When you reached the cooridor, everyone was there and you could tell that nervousness hung over the group.
“We ready?” Dot asked and all of us just nodded, “Let’s fucking go!”
All of you walked out of the cooridors, making sure the coast was clear. Toni intertwined her fingers into your hands and the tension in your shoulders seemed to have fallen away. Shelby was right behind you guys and you made sure to look back every now and then to make sure she was okay.
“There they are!” you heard a deep voice yell.
All of you stopped in your tracks, looking at one another. Then reality hit all of you like a truck, before you took off running. Toni practically dragging you along with her and every second you looked behind you to see Shelby keeping up. But when you do, you can see a butt-load of agents, the distance between you and them growing smaller and smaller by the second.
“Guys! They’re gaining!” you yelled. As time went on, your energy and adrenaline that the group once had was slowly diminishing.
“Well run faster!” Rachel called back. Both her and Leah leading the charge.
“I didn’t sign up for a marathon!” Fatin exclaimed.
Dot shrugged, “It’s either run a marathon or get captured by them.”
Fatin looked back at all of the angry men. And somehow, someway, she started running faster, “Yeah, yeah. Marathon it is!”
You reached the exit Leah was once talking about. Shutting the door behind you guys, locking it just before they could get in. You did a mental head count...Rachel, Leah, Dot, Fatin, Toni...that’s only five? That’s only five! You scanned the two way hallway frantically.
“Love? What’s wrong?” Toni asked.
You shook your head, “Where’s Shelby? She wa s right behind us. I should’ve...I should’ve kept watching her. I should’ve make her run in front of me.”
“What?” Toni questioned, her voice a little softer.
“Where’s Shelby?!” you practically screamed. Your voice echoing throughout the hallway.
You heard footsteps coming towards you. Shelby in the hands of Agent Young, you released a shaky breath. All of you were surrounded, the door to escape right there in front of you. A middle aged lady that you recognized from the Dawn of Eve video appeared from behind the two agents.
“Relax darling. She’s right here. Now how about we all get you back to your cells?” she asked.
Everyone shook their head, “No, this is insane! You can’t keep us here forever!” Dot yelled.
“Well we need one of you to explain to us what happened. So if you’d like to escape, go right ahead, but we keep Shelby. Easy peasy.” she explained.
You looked at Toni, sending her an apologetic glance. Her head tilting to the side in confusion. You leaned forward softly, placing a small kiss to her cheek, before letting go of her hand.
“Y/N? What are you-“ she began to ask, but you stepped towards the woman and the two agents.
You let out yet another shaky breath, “Take me.” you said sternly.
An echo of “What?!” rang throughout the hallway. And you tried not to focus on the fear that laced, each and every one of their voices.
“You let them go, let them go back home. And I’ll switch places with Shelby. I’ll cooperate and tell you the entire truth.” you negotiated.
Shelby stared right at you, “Are you insane?” she asked, tears pooling at your eyes.
“Please. Let them go. I’ll tell you everything I know. That is your best bet of trying to get yourself out of whatever sick game you’re playing. Because if you keep all of us here, we will not cooperate and you’ll know nothing.” you explained. The middle-aged woman pondered your negotiation for quite a few minutes.
And with one snap of her fingers, she was released and you were in the grasp of Agent Young and Dr. Fader. You finally brought yourself to look at the girls who were all crying. And you couldn’t bear to look at them anymore as you heard sobs course throughout Shelby, Leah, and Fatin’s body. Then there was Toni, Dot, and Rachel who were trying their best to stay strong, but you knew they couldn’t.
“You can’t do this!” Toni yelled.
You shook your head, “We don’t have a choice. I need you guys to leave. We’ve lost 2 already! No one else can get hurt anymore.” Everyone went silent, “Can I say goodbye first?” you asked, softly. The three adults all looked at each other before nodding.
You stopped first at Rachel, pulling her into a small hug. And you could feel little tear drops fall onto your shoulder, “I’m sorry we couldn’t save her.” That caused Rachel to sob even more.
You rubbed her back softly, “I’m sorry we couldn’t save you.” she whispered back before pulling away.
Then there was Fatin. She immediately crashed into your arms, holding you tighter than she ever has before. You ran your fingers through her hair, trying to soothe her as best as possible.
“I’m still holding you to your plans for when you escape.” you mentioned, out of the blue.
“What?” she asked, pulling away a little.
You smiled widely at her, “You still gotta fuck the rowdiest guy with biggest dick ASAP!”
And for once since the great escape happened all of you finally laughed and smiled. She sniffled before nodding, “I promise. I’ll dedicate it to you.”
Then Dot. You could tell she was trying her best not to cry, but a few tears slipped out. She hugged you tightly, patting your back in the process, “Do me a favor?” she just hummed in response, “When you get back home to Texas, watch after Shelby. Live in your old house together, something...anything! She can’t go home, she’s not ready for that yet. But you need to protect her and make sure that she stays the same person she is jow. Not the person we knew before, can you do that?”
“With my life.” Dot promised and you look back at her to find a determined nod on her face.
Leah’s turn was next. Her piercing blue eyes looked like the ocean when it rained. The glossiness of the raindrops hitting the water. You smiled at her softly, pulling her into a hug.
You were right by her ear when you whispered, “When we get out of here, you need to tell our story. Tell the truth the whole truth. Don’t let these bastards win. Sue them if we have to. Just get our story out. I trust you more than anyone to do that. Do it for Jeanette and Martha and even Nora. The ones we’ve lost and the ones who are lost in the trauma.”
“I’m on it. You come back to us okay? We need you here too to tell our story.” she said.
You smiled at her sadly, “I’ll try.”
Then there was Shelby. You look at her and she looked at you shaking her head, “No no you can’t do this. You can’t sacrifice yourself for everyone else. I’ll stay here with you! I’ll follow you always!” she pleaded, sobs following her spoken words.
Tears finally fell from your eyes, “You can’t stay here okay? You have to go home.”
“You’re my only family!! Why are you doing this??” she practically yelled.
You sniffled, smiling softly, “You know how we always wanted to be the hero? We would go on missions for church to help people’s lives.” she nodded, “I’m gonna be the hero today and save the people I care about the most.”
Shelby grabbed you forcefully, holding you into her arms. The two of you shaking, as sobs coursed throughout your bodies. You placed your hand on the back of her head, holding her unbelievably close. Until you finally let go.
“I’m not gonna let you do this.” Toni said sternly.
“You have no choice-“ you began to say, but she cut you off.
“Fuck that! I do have a choice and I’m gonna swap places with you! You took Shelby’s place so easily, so why can’t I do that with you?!” her voice echoing, causing everyone to flinch back.
You took your hands in her face, rubbing circles along her cheekbones. Something you did on the island to calm her down when she got too angry or stressed. You placed your forehead on hers and you could see her lips start to quiver.
“You can’t stay here.” she pleaded, “I can’t-what am I gonna do without you? I don’t have Marty or you, what am I gonna do?”
You placed a kiss to her forehead, “I’m gonna find my way back. Find all of you again, okay? I’m never leaving you as cheesy as it sounds I’m always gonna be right here.” you pointed at her heart, “But until then I have to go darling.”
“No, please!” she practically begged. You kissed her softly, but with so much emotion to let her know how much you love her. Not knowing when the next time will be.
“I love you Toni.” you placed one more kiss to her forehead before taking a step back to look at all of the girls.
Again, with one snap of the fingers, you were back in the agents arms, “Escort them to the exit.” the middle-aged woman stated, “You’re coming with me.”
Ear piercing screams rang through your ears. You were about to be dragged off when Shelby and Toni tried rushing towards you. They grabbed your hands trying to pull you back, but the agents were stronger. Not to mention the other agents holding them back.
“We’re not leaving you!!” they yelled.
You didn’t want it to end like this, “Please just go! We lost! You can’t stay here! It’s not safe for you! So please just get out!” you screamed before everything started to break down in front of you, “Just go.” you kept mumbling over and over again between sobs.
Dr. Fader and the middle aged woman escorted you away from the girls and to the interrogation room. While Agent Young escorted the bawling girls towards the exit, probably to drive them to the airport on wherever the hell we are.
“You promised! I trusted that you would keep all of us safe!” Leah spat at Agent Young when they were all alone. She started banging on his chest, “I trusted you! And you-you made us lost Y/N!”
He just let her go at it, before grabbing her wrists as softly as possible, “I tried, but Gretchen watched all of you run from her office. She figured you were going there. And called for everyone to surround you. I tried Leah. I tried for all of you and I failed!”
“You were the ally?” Dot asked and he nodded.
“You girls don’t deserve this. You’ve already been through so much. It’s time for you to go home.” he said sadly, “I’ll take care of her, I promise.”

Aftermath
Request: This is a request that @mycosmicparadise asked me for a long time ago. Sorry, sweetie.
Pairing: Tony Stark x Avenger Female Reader
Summary: After the events in New York, the team reunites to carry out the mission to get Loki's scepter, but things go wrong and your mission changes completely, now you have to go after Ultron, but you find yourself unable to keep your powers under control.
Warnings: Angst, Mentions of abuse.
Word count: 3972
A/N: Avengers Age of Ultron. Some of the dialogue is taken from the film. Sorry for my spelling and grammatical mistakes, English is not my native language, I am learning.
Reader's powers: She is a powerful empath, as she can sense and manipulate other people's emotions. Proficient unarmed combatant.
Hydra, Research Base, Eastern Europe.
You felt like your insides were full of hate and rage, every person you met through the thick forest, the only thing they felt when they saw you was dislike, mixed with the anger of wanting to get rid of you. Your powers worked because you kept your own emotions under control, but it was a constant struggle, as you used to feel inside you the emotions that others possessed and that made your insides filled with every negative emotion.
"Shit!" you heard Tony through the relay you had inserted in the back of your ear.
"Language!" Steve instantly rebutted him.
You held your position through the thick forest of Sokovia, Hydra's base was on top of a mountain, or rather it was the mountain itself, for around it they had built a rather impenetrable base that you wanted to access in order to get the Sceptre that you were unable to take from Loki at the time. Numerous clearly trained soldiers were trying to stop you in your tracks. Jarvis had informed you that the building was protected by an energy shield, which was against you as it was the most advanced technology you had seen in any Hydra base of operations.
"Loki's sceptre must be in there," Thor announced, as you guarded one of those soldiers under your body rendering him completely unconscious. "They couldn't have those defences without it."
You ran across the field trying to close the gap with Natasha, who was a few metres ahead of you, Clint following.
"Okay," you said staring at one of your targets and getting him to lower his gun to tackle him, "so what do we do?"
"Wait a second," Tony interjected. "No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said "language?"
"I know," Steve replied, making your eyes roll at the distraction they were causing in the middle of the mission.
The graze of bullets was almost audible through your body, it seemed to go on forever, you had been going on for hours and all you could manage to do was run into more troops sent by Hydra to hold you in that quadrant of the forest. Natasha was trying to get rid of two guys who had tackled her, you turned to her and stared at one of them but just as you were about to make the mental connection something that you barely noticed made you fall to the ground.
"What the hell?" you exclaimed getting up again and looking around you hoping to find the cause of it.
"We've got an upgrade," Steve informed you.
"Wait, you don't call her 'language'?" Tony complained at the situation. "Okay, I'll tell her. Language!"
At that instant a muffled shout from Clint sounded behind you.
"Clint!" Natasha had effectively freed herself from the two henchmen and you both headed towards Clint, who had been shot from a bunker. "Clint's hurt. Can someone take care of that bunker?"
As if Natasha's words were an order, Hulk appeared out of nowhere to overwhelm the small building and the soldiers inside. You stood up and turned your full attention to your surroundings while Nat continued to perform the necessary treatment to alleviate the blow that your companion had received.
"Clint is in bad shape, he needs to be evacuated," Nat reported over the transmitter, as Thor and the Captain instantly landed next to you. "I can take Barton to the Quinjet," Thor replied and focused his gaze on Steve. "The sooner we leave the better.
"Copy that," Steve replied for both of you, but at that moment he noticed your face.
"Roger that," Steve replied for both of you, but at that moment he noticed your face. "Are you all right?"
You nodded, returning to an introspective position beside Natasha.
On the ride home, silence flooded the Quinjet more than ever, the mission had finally succeeded but it wasn't really in the air, it wasn't felt inside any of you, even though Stark had proposed a victory party.
The following days nothing had gone as planned, the analysis of the sceptre that Stark and Banner had carried out, more than an analysis it was a reconfiguration of a network of neurons that they had found, in order to create an artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence that they used in Stark's secret 'peacekeeping' programme called Ultron, designed to allow the Iron Legion to operate independently. That brought some trouble, when at the end of the Party he showed up to personally attack you, well rather, the whole of humanity, as Ultron thinks the best way to save Earth is to eradicate humanity, he might be partly right.
"Ultron is gone," Banner's voice echoed within the four walls of the lab, "he has used the internet as an escape route."
"Ultron," you whispered to yourself, as one hand covered your face thoroughly.
"He's been all over. Files, surveillance," Natasha explained. "He knows more about us than we know about each other."
As the conversation continued to escalate, emotional energies radiated through the atmosphere, and you picked up on every one of them. Negativity, gathered together with worry, confusion and concern took over your body, you still felt a resentment from the attack you experienced three days ago in Sokovia, which managed to heighten each of the sensations. You closed your eyes as you hid your face with one hand and the other voices became ominous, frustrating your senses. Natasha was the only person who seemed to notice your situation, stopping the voices with a "guys", but just as they stopped, a small laugh from a completely distracted Tony typing on the computer made you burst.
"You think that's funny?" the hand hiding your face disappeared to give way to hard features and a raised, gruff tone of voice, Tony turned and looked at you a little quizzically, but you could see a hidden smile.
"No," he said indifferently. "It probably isn't, is it? This is terrible, it's so..." again his laughter tackled him, causing you to be completely confused and your frustration to grow. "I know. It's so terrible."
"It's just as terrible that you're taunting all of us right now with your fucking arrogance," you said approaching him.
"No," his tone unlike yours seemed pleasant and friendly, "It really is funny, just like it's funny that you don't understand why we need him," Tony closed the distance with you, positioning the two of you in the middle of the lab, his voice had completely changed it was just as gruff as yours.
"Tony, maybe this isn't the time," Bruce interjected in a melodic tone.
"So, a killer robot was what we needed?" you reproached, lifting your chin to position yourself against his height. "The shield that was supposed to free us from alien threats frees us by wiping out all of humanity, yeah, really brilliant."
"Remember I put a nuke through a wormhole?" he rebuked you, recalling for the umpteenth time that night the event in New York. "Tell me, how did you plan to win that? What was your damned solution to get rid of that damned hostile alien army that came through that wormhole in space?"
"Together," Steve interjected quickly, causing Tony to look away from you and back at Steve.
You made the air rush into your lungs offering you some relaxation, instigating your mind to let positive memories come to you. Your differences with Tony were known, your understanding of his views was limited, a fact that generated the occasional verbal conflict between the two of you, let's just say you couldn't stand each other more than you deserved.
The night was long, mostly because there was hardly any rest after planning what you were going to do to stop Ultron, which led you to South Africa.
"She should stay," Nat's whisper reached your ears. "The mission in Sokovia has left her with aftermath she has yet to overcome."
"Oh, last night was a aftermath?" Tony from the pilot's seat added to the conversation. "Nice."
"You know I'm here and I can hear you?" you asked without opening your eyes from your seat. "I'm coming down, worry about you guys that..."
"Okay, listen," Tony stood up from the command post. "I may regret saying this but I agree with her. I think you should stay here with Banner. Keep you two company. Get to know each other better. You know."
"Why don't you stay here, Tony, and get to know Banner better?" you opened your eyes and looked at Tony, but thought for a second. "Well, I'd better not, lest you get the bright idea to create Ultron's sister."
"He's an only child," Tony countered your irony.
"The roles are split," you added as a definitive point. "I'll take the girl, you take Ultron."
From a mountain fortress to a ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. You entered its interior, a quite feasible target, when in fact what you all feared lay within. Darkness fell over your pupils, the smell of dampness professed in every corner.
"You're with me, aftermath," reported a voice from behind a suit of armour. "Stay sharp, this guy is made by me."
The long corridors soon took you deep into the heart of the ship, they were as eager to run into you as you were to run into them, so it was only a couple of minutes before you were reunited in a vast maze of iron catwalks.
"Stark is a sickness!" exclaimed that robot called Ultron.
"Ahh, Junior," Tony posed in front of him and his two enhanced companions, "You're gonna break your old man's heart."
From that moment on things happened too fast for a clear description to be made. The corridors seemed to lengthen as you tried to keep that enhanced girl, Wanda, away from the others. She was powerful, trying to play with your mind and you with hers. It was a battle of mental endurance, if you could keep your mind blank and safe from all the negative things she was trying to make you see, you could keep going. It seemed doable, you seemed to have it under control, you had freed yourself from the transmitter that kept you in contact with the others to avoid any external distractions, but none of that was enough when a new enhancement came into play making you lose your balance completely, you felt the emptiness flooding you, as if your body was falling unchecked into the darkness.
A halo of light circled over your eyes making you recognise what was around you, you had escaped, you had fled from that ship thousands of miles in space and time. A figure that you recognised instantly was in front of you, smiling at you, raising her hand to caress your face, it was the figure of your mother, she was laughing, but with each laugh the atmosphere became darker. The main living room of your house appeared before your eyes, but it seemed totally neglected, the furniture was worn out, there was dust and mould in every corner, your mother was prostrate on the floor and a figure without a face was on top of her beating her, you heard the screams of a little girl, they were quite familiar, they were yours. That scene began to repeat itself over and over again, reliving your childhood, you fought to try to change it, but you had no control over it or over your mind at that moment, time after time the pain invaded you and although you tried to stop it, it became impossible again. You had entered a loop, you had lost track of time and space, you couldn't run away from it. Your own mind had become part of it.
Your ears only picked up your screams and those of your mother, you kept your eyes open but your vision was not able to see, you fell to your knees wherever you were in reality and you stayed there, until someone managed to locate you.
"I got her," as a faint whisper drifted into the scene you were living. "Okay. You're safe, I've got you."
As if you were again falling into the void your body rose into the air, and the darkness once again hovered over you, causing all your limbs and your brain to go into a deep, eternal sleep.
Without really knowing where you were, you could hear a faint hissing sound that came more and more strongly to your senses. Light broke through your eyelids, which were struggling against their will to open. Familiarity with the space made you realise where you were. The whistling sound was coming from the air hitting the Quinjet, for all was silent inside. You sat up slowly, the mental pain was suffocating, not only because of what you had seen and what you had been through, but because you could feel the same sensations all around you.
You sat up, covering your face with your hands and hiding it between your legs trying to pull yourself together, but at that moment you felt someone kneel down right in front of you and put a hand on the back of your neck.
"What can I do?" Tony's voice sounded cautious, but there was really little he could do in those few square metres of anguish, so you just shook your head. "Okay, look at me," you shook your head again not wanting to have direct access to any more emotions at the moment, "Look at me. Please."
Your breathing was rapid and your heart kept shrinking, causing a lump in your throat that almost prevented you from breathing. You couldn't extract everything you had inside you, nor could you find the calm you needed to let him go, you were afraid to look at him to interfere with his feelings and manipulate them by offering him yours, you were also afraid of acquiring his negative emotions and adding them to your own. But still you felt his hand go to your chin and he gently lifted it up to catch your face in his gaze.
"In a couple of hours we'll be in a shelter," his face was close, his fingers held firmly on your chin. "Do you think you'll be okay?"
A subtle nod is what you offered in reply, Tony nodded as well and took a seat right next to you after having moved closer to Barton.

A subtle nod is what you offered in reply, Tony nodded as well and took a seat right next to you after having moved closer to Barton. Those two hours seemed endless, you kept your hands pressed to your temple trying to forget what you had seen, but more so what you had felt. Tony, along with Barton were the only ones who had not suffered the effects of Wanda Maximoff's mind control on you on that occasion, it was evident from the physical and mental state of the other teammates.
Tony stayed by your side for the entire 120 minutes, worried and afraid that everything that had happened was his fault, and it was all coming back to you.
"Stop," you whispered trying to get Tony's attention.
"How?" he whispered and bent his face closer to yours, which was resting on your hands.
"Stop flogging yourself, I've had enough of the others," you pleaded a little rudely, unable to control yourself.
"I'm sorry," he placed his palm on your back, but an uncomfortable gesture from your shoulder caused him to remove it a second later. "I'm sorry."
A couple of hours later, the Quinjet took up position on a large greenish esplanade, the greenest thing your eyes had ever seen in your life. In the centre was a small cottage, cosy enough for anyone to see. Tony held you firmly, as it seemed that your body would fall if he let go. You went inside together, a hospitable warmth surrounded each of your limbs causing you to get some peace in you after hours.
Time seemed to have taken its toll on your senses, as you barely understood half of what was being said around you. But everything changed when two children entered, bringing joy and life to the room, it was the most comforting thing you had felt in weeks, the innocence that each of them possessed was like a breath of fresh air to you. You gently removed your arm from Tony's shoulders, murmuring "I'm feeling better," and he returned an "Okay" with a still worried look on his face. Actually Barton's idea of taking you there had been really successful for all of you, except for Thor who left, but for the rest of you it was something you'd never been able to contemplate in your lives, kind of like what it would be like to have a family.
Sunset was near and the view from that wooden porch surrounding the house was charmingly soothing.
"You look good," Tony appeared behind you with his hands in his pockets and perched next to you, leaning on the railing.
"Thank you," you said, looking back up at the grove of trees that loomed before your eyes. "And thanks for earlier."
" For what?" he asked with confusion in his voice.
"When you tried to reassure me on the Quinjet," you said without looking at him. "And... I think it was also you who took me back."
"Yep," Tony put his hand to the back of his neck and turned to you. "The truth is, that process would have been a lot more feasible if you hadn't gotten rid of the transmitter, it would have saved me a lot of time."
"I know," you ducked your face, but a small smile appeared on it.
"Do you want to talk?" Tony's voice seemed somewhat hesitant after stating the question.
"No," you shook your face, letting the last rays of sunlight fall on him. "Do you want to talk?"
"What do you feel?" he answered your question with another question, ignoring it completely. "What do you feel inside when you feel us?"
"I feel what other people are feeling," you explained, looking at him for the first time. "If I concentrate I can feel what you're feeling right now, or what Steve is feeling, or how the Hulk feels when he turns."
"How?"
That conversation you'd had on several occasions in your life, but at no point had you had it with Tony, you hadn't been close at any point, closeness you could find in Natasha or even Steve, but not in Tony, that's why that moment was peculiar, as well as comforting.
"It's easy when my emotions are in control," you turned your body towards him and leaned against the wooden railing. "I just have to look at my target and focus on how he feels, knowing that whatever is inside him I'm going to feel it too," you focused your gaze on Tony's eyes, "for instance, right now you're remorseful about what happened with Ultron, but you also feel misunderstood because no one understands your point of view, you're also melancholy about being in this place, a little envious about discovering the life that Barton has, and..." you paused slightly as you discovered one of his feelings, but you chose to ignore it, as he seemed to be really nervous about the process of analysis he was undergoing, "embarrassed because right now I'm feeling the same way you are.”
You offered him a slight smile, which he himself returned a little nervously at the exposition you had offered him, Tony was a very rigorous person when expressing himself and this had completely thrown him off.
"That..." he put one hand nervously to the back of his neck while the other was hidden in his trouser pocket. "Great, I guess it's nice to know I'm not empty. But well, we'd better keep this between us."
"Of course," for the first time you felt a little satisfied with your task just done, it was nice to see that this person could shed his pride on several occasions.
"Well, I'd better go and help Rogers chop wood," he said, standing up beside you and scratching the bridge of his nose.
" Yes, he certainly looks like he could use your help," you commented wryly as Steve had little difficulty chopping wood in one fell swoop.
"Yeah," he shoved his hands in his pockets and slipped out of the place as quickly as possible.
Within a minute you could feel him perch next to you again, leaning his body on the railing and looking at you.
"That's all you found?" he asked with a frown and gesturing nimbly with his hand, a gesture that denoted nervousness. "I mean, there was nothing else."
"What do you mean?" you frowned as he did, looking completely puzzled, since you already knew what he meant.
"Well..." he scratched the back of his neck again, "Do you usually do this to me? I mean, have you ever gone inside my head before to see how I'm feeling or have you only done it this once? Is it usual?"
"Do you really think I want to know what you keep in your head Tony?" you asked holding back a laugh at his reaction.
"Okay," he gave a long nod biting the inside of his lip. "And there was nothing else you said?"
"Do you want me to try again? Maybe I can find something else," you offered humbly, knowing what he wanted.
"No, it's... all right," his words were accompanied with a step back, putting distance between you and him. "It's all right. I'm... going to go help Cap."
"Okay," you bit your lower lip as you watched him disappear behind you again. behind you again.
You watched as Tony walked over to Steve's pile of firewood and picked up an axe to imitate his movements. You remained in your position, keeping your gaze lost in that grove of trees that made you feel so calm, but it was very easy to catch Tony's gaze watching you from his position. He knew that you had felt it, because perhaps it was one of the emotions that was strongest inside him at that moment, but evidently you didn't want to expose it out loud, and let him know that you had discovered it. Yet there it was, and it was going to take you too long to forget that feeling, because it felt too good to let it go.

Avengers or Justice League (2/2)
Author: @wordsfromthesol Taglist: @zphilophobiaz @malfoys-demigod @pricetagofficial @anousiemay Pairing: Jason Todd x Reader Word Count: 1.2k
Part One
You woke up several hours later, still in the passenger seat. It had definitely been longer than 2 hours. How were you not in New York yet…Before you could ask, Jason spoke up.
"So…welcome back. It's been a while. A lot has changed."
"I can see that. What happened?"
"Well I met the spider thing. Very helpful, definitely a child. But he said Bats was about 3 hours north of here. In a small town called Croatoa."
"Seriously?"
"I couldn't believe it either. Couldn't even find it on a map…but the kid gave me directions. Should be there in…now." Jason commented as he turned onto a dirt road. You had a feeling this wasn't going to end well.
**
You had been in this weird town for a few hours. All you had done was sit on the roof of the hotel and listen. The conversations…something was just off. You couldn't put your finger on exactly what. You were so zoned out that you didn't even hear Jason come up behind you.
"Something is off here. Right?" His voice broke your trance.
"Definitely." You nodded, reassuring him that he wasn't crazy.
"There's no crime here. At all. In the last 10 years. Not even a speeding ticket."
"Well the town is all dirt roads…" The comment was meant to put your minds at rest. It didn't. "Should we even be staying here? Crime does tend to follow us." Jason's bellowing laugh cut through the tension.
"I've already got us another room. About an hour away. It was the closest town to here." You moved to get up but stopped when you noticed Jason wasn't following you.
"Is there something else?" A look of concern graced your features.
"Why am I here? Good ole Bruce doesn't need me. Never has. I don't fit into the mold of his superhero gang. I shouldn't even be alive. Who thought I was worth saving?" It was as if someone dosed him with a truth serum. All the insecurities he felt began to pour out.
"Honestly…I have no idea why you were saved. Then again, why was I? Why didn’t that blast kill me? Why did Tony create something to save me? And why did Bruce teach me how to control the catastrophic energy inside of me?" Now you couldn't stop. There was something about this place. "We need to leave." You were barely able to muster up the words.
**
You still weren't sure how the two of you made it out of town, but as soon as you did it was like a switch flipped.
"By the way, Bruce's way of doing things…it's not always right. You don't need to fit into his mold." Even though the effects wore off, you still remembered everything Jason had said. Everything you had said. Those fears and uncertainties, you don't think you'd ever actually said them aloud. You could tell Jason hadn't either.
"Do you think he's there?"
"It's a pretty small town, I would've heard him…unless there was some underground bunker…" You turned towards Jason, realizing that that was an actual possibility. The rest of the drive was ridden in silence. Neither of you wanted to talk about the things that were said.
You had no idea where Jason went, but it had been hours. The two of you had to come up with a plan. It didn't take long for you to find him in an alleyway wailing on some drug dealer.
"Hey, Hood." You casually walked up next to him, leaning against the adjacent brick wall. He sent one final punch towards the dealer before turning towards you. "Don't you think we have more important matters?" Jason just stared at you, confused. You scoffed and starting walking back to the hotel, as you reached the end of the alley you called out, "If you want a lecture we'll have to find your dear ole dad."
You weren't surprised to hear Jason's footsteps quickly behind you. "Well do you know where to begin?"
"Kinda…I was thinking. And the power to affect people's minds like that has to be constantly going. Especially since it affected us."
"Yeah but that could be anything. A sound, emitting something into the air, even widescale mind control." You let out a defeated sigh as Jason continued. "I can call Miss Martian. If it's the latter."
"Alright, get her on standby. I'm going to call Tony. Maybe he has something we could use if it's a sound or air thing." You stopped dead in your tracks and turned towards Jason. "I just don't get why they would have Bruce. I get that he is inherently violent…but he still helps people. And they wouldn't need him if there was no crime…"
"I…" Jason started walking again, not wanting to think about the answer. "I'll get Tim on it. Just don't go back there until we know more."
Your eyes widened, "Yeah no, of course not."
**
Once you were sure Jason was asleep, you flew just outside the town limits and began circling the town. There had to be something you missed. It took almost 30 minutes for you to notice the sound. You stopped, hovering about 30 feet in the air, as you focused in on the noise. The next thing you knew you were plummeting to the ground, yet you couldn't stop yourself. It seemed as if Jason was at your side as soon as you hit the ground.
"Y/N! Are you kidding me?!"
Your eyes fluttered open to examine the damage around you. "I thought you were asleep."
"And I called bullshit the moment you said you wouldn't come back here." You didn't protest as he scooped you up and gently placed you in the car.
"It's sound." You mumbled as you fought off the headache.
"Guess I'll have to talk to the tin can again." He rolled his eyes, but his expression softened as he watched your face contort in pain. "You okay?"
"Just karma for not listening to the all mighty Jason Todd."
**
A week had passed and it seemed the mission grew stagnant. Tony had developed a device that blocked the sound, which you had already tested, but there were still too many unknowns. Every meeting consisted of hypothesizing different situations and possibilities that could be encountered once everyone was inside.
"Enough already!" You shouted at the arguing heroes. "We could do this for months. It's pointless. We need to go now. Batman may not even be there anymore."
"Oh, uh…he is." Spiderman chimed in.
You furrowed your brow, "How do you know that?"
"I put a tracker on him. It's still there…" As the whole room burst out in laughter, Spiderman just looked around, confused. "What?!" His voice broke through.
"Oh…sweetheart." You began as you regained your composure. "There are three reasons that tracker works. One, he was brainwashed and actually didn't know it was there. Two, he put the tracker on something useless to send you on a wild goose chase. And three, he put the tracker somewhere he wanted you to go."
"Considering the creepy town, I'd rule out the second one." Dick chimed in.
"So do we just split up and find the entrance to the tunnels?" You could tell that Tim was ready to get this mission over, so you started doling out responsibilities.
"Tony starts at the north end, Nightwing and Robin at the east, Red Robin and Spiderman, the west. Red Hood and I will start at the south. We can't go in costume though. It will be too obvious."
"So we must reveal our identities to these inane people?" Damian was not happy with the situation, especially having to work with members of the Avengers.
"Just don’t say your name? We're trying to find Batman, this is more important than your secret identity."
**
You prayed that the sonic dampeners Tony developed would hold for the duration of the mission. You had no idea how long this would take. This situation seemed much more involved than some low level, one-off criminal. It was a demonstration, a practice round.
The town was small enough, so one of the groups had to stumble upon this entrance. The only tricky part was not drawing attention to yourselves. Seven strangers come to town at once…you were hoping whatever brainwashing protocol overlooked this fact. And you were right. No one gave you and Jason a second glance as the two of you strolled down the street. It had been almost an hour before you stumbled upon a potential entrance. As discreetly as possible, you opened the hatch and lowered yourself through the hole.
"So which way do we go?" Jason commented as he followed in suit.
"Left?" You figured you had a 50/50 shot, so you went with your gut. After all, if you went right, you wouldn't be in town for too much longer. "You should probably call the others. Have them rendezvous here, in case we run into trouble."
"Trouble from who? The townies?" You shrugged off his condescending tone. The two of you had been walking for a few minutes when you started to hear footsteps. People were running towards you.
"Uh, Jason…we need to move." Jason didn't bother to argue, as the urgency was pasted over your face. The two of you raced down the corridor until you saw something. "STOP! There's a room. There." You pointed towards the concrete block to your right.
"And does this room have a door?" You could tell by his tone, Jason wasn't afraid to make one. Your eyes scanned around the area until you found it. Not bothering to answer his question, you rushed towards the opening.
"And it's locked."
"Not for long," Jason smirked as knelt down to work on the lock. It was opened in seconds. Your eyes searched around the room in awe. There was video and audio of the entire city. Even inside people's homes.
"How do we --" Your question was interrupted by a loud banging against the door. "Just subdue, don't maim or murder." The comment was a reminder to both yourself and Jason. These were innocent unsuspecting townspeople, not criminals.
"Didn't need to be said!" You shoot a glare his way, to which he responds with a shrug of the shoulders. Just as the two of you braced for a fight, the banging stopped. Seconds later, Tim swung open the door.
"In a bit of a bind?"
"Does it look like we know how to operate this?" You pointed towards the various machines behind you. Tim nodded and got to work.
**
"So, no evil mastermind or Batman." You had convinced Jason to come back to the hotel with you and let the rest of them deal with the groggy and confused townspeople.
"Guess not."
"There's probably going to be more towns like this. You'll have to keep an eye out…"
"Oh. So you're leaving Earth then?" Jason's chest sank at the thought.
"Is there a reason I should stay?" You knew the answer, but you wanted him to say it. You wanted to make sure you weren't imagining everything.
"I can probably think of a few…"

could you write something for trans pepper coming out to tony please?
authors note: i am not an expert, nor am i trans. please let me know if i have written anything wrong/harmful, and i’ll take it down
When Pepper started at Stark Industries, she told herself that she would not get too involved. She was here to do her job, and nothing else. She had caused “problems” at her last job, and in return they had caused problems for her as well.
(Sitting by herself at the cafeteria, fielding uncomfortable messages, and correcting intentionally wrong emails had been...exhausting. Mentally and physically.)
But this? No, this can’t go on.
The math is all wrong. It’s going to cost the company about a million dollars if she lets it pass, and while she’s sure that it could be replaced easily in a day, that’s the kind of thing that gets you fired. And when employers look at your resume and see that you were terminated from the highest-ranking job to have for an accountant, a prestigious company that takes pride in accurate numbers and satisfied employees?
Well...it doesn’t look too hot.
So she brings it up. Her boss isn’t exactly happy with her. She thinks the numbers were probably intentional.
“I’ve been doing this for years, I think I know a little bit more than you, young lady,” he scowls.
Pepper’s not exactly fazed at the dismissive remark.
“Then I’m sure that you’ll know that your math is wrong. It’d be better to double-check it and be right and have me be in the wrong than not check it and be fired.”
He doesn’t check it.
But when he’s called into Mr. Stark’s office, he must have mentioned her name.
He put the blame on her.
Pepper cannot believe it as she’s called in.
“So, Mark tells me that you did math wrong.”
“I didn’t. I triple-checked it, and kept the receipt tape as proof.”
“Oh, I know. Mark can’t do math for shit, but he hates when people tell him. But I’m glad you did, because it made me realize I can’t have someone who’s so insecure that when someone tells them to double-check it and they don’t because they want to be right, that...I don’t know what I was doing. Anyways, he’s fired.”
Pepper blinks.
“Really?”
“Yeah, really. Also, I’m reading your file. Virginia? Did your parents hate you?”
“Not the worst name I’ve been given,” Pepper says smoothly.
“Hm. Says here that you go by Pepper. I like that.”
“Thank you, chose it myself and everything.”
“And everything?” Tony asks, smiling. “I like that.”
-
Four months later, she’s in the break room when Tony’s personal assistant quits on the spot after he’s late for the third time in a week.
“I can’t fucking do this!” He screeches. “I’m done.”
Pepper’s not sure why she goes into Jason’s office and just looks at the schedule.
She calls his cell.
“Jason, seriously, I told you to quit bothering me.”
“It’s Pepper. Get your ass over here for your meeting, the board directors are about an inch away from reinstating Obadiah.”
“And that would be a bad thing...why?”
“You want your stock points to drop because you’re proving that you can’t be trusted to run a company?”
“I’ll be there.”
It’s the fastest time that Tony makes it into the office, by the way. Pepper’s only slightly proud.
-
She’s terrified when he offers her a position as a personal assistant. She’ll be in the limelight, people paying attention to her.
She modifies her contracts: no one is allowed to access any sort of personal information. At all. It has to be locked in a vault, only key is one that she and Tony know about.
“Anything I should know about?”
“Um. No.”
“Oh. Okay. As long as you aren’t secretly running any illegal thing out of one of the floors, then be my guest. But if you are, let me know. Petra in accounting--new hire, you wouldn’t know them--is secretly reselling wedding cakes. I think. Maybe the wedding cakes was a bad lie. Hell. But welcome aboard!”
Wrangling Tony is a lot like dealing with a goldfish. He’s a genius; she sees that when she walks into his house and sees about seven different projects lying around, and at least two papers that have notes about redoing a filtration system for drinking water.
He is also incredibly stupid.
“You have fifteen coffee cups out.”
“Impossible, I don’t own that many!”
“Aw, did you not take counting classes in preschool?”
Tony likes her. A lot. She’s got a bite of wit, no-bullshit when it comes to business, and never misses a beat. She also has a killer sense of style, and is the one who makes sure he’s not wearing a weird mixture of jeans and a sport coat.
“No.”
“Come on, it’s not like fashion actually matters that much. Well, not to me.”
“It should. You should be the most creatively dressed male out there, and you’re not. A black suit? God, that’s...that’s sad. No, I ordered you a blue silk suit. Embroidered with flowers all over, matching shoes with inverted colors. Come on. In you go.”
“Ugh.”
(His outfit is a smashing success, by the way. They ask who his stylist is, and he just says “Oh, my personal assistant said she would bury me in my garden if I wore a black suit. I would’ve dug it myself, looking on this now.”)
-
She does not tell him for a long time. At all. Because people are...weird about it. Weird questions, weird statements, and compliments so backhanded she doesn’t like to call them compliments.
But at some point, she needs to tell him. Or she wants to. She wants to, she doesn’t have to. Yeah.
Okay. So she’s in love with him. A tiny bit.
-
He makes her coffee. Every morning. Creamer goes into the mug first, then coffee. That’s the only way she takes it.
He compliments her a lot, and she knows that this shouldn’t be a reason that love qualifies but it’s nice to hear. He also bought her a very expensive pair of shoes.
Pepper honestly does want to tell him. She also does not want to lose her job, however. So she needs to gauge the situation. Maybe talk to some of her girlfriends, see what’s up.
-
Well then her boss goes missing for months and comes back and obviously you can’t tell someone you’re in love with them after they come back with an electromagnetic device in their chest. That’s just crazy.
He came back...different. New circumstances, new outlook on life. She relates a tiny little bit.
She buys herself a beautiful blue dress. He gives her his credit card, tells her to buy herself something nice, and goddammit she’s never been one to really disobey her boss. (Just bend some rules. Or create new ones that negate the old ones.)
She curls her hair and only curses eight times, which is actually pretty good. Her usual amount of cursing per-curling-session is about eighty-two.
He looks at her like she’s an angel, and she thinks...yeah. Okay. She’ll tell him that she’s in love with him.
-
Well then his uncle decides to attempt to kill him. God, what a mood killer. She hates this.
-
They’re laying down in his house on the patio, and he’s sipping on a smoothie that she’s honestly sure is 100% gross, and he turns to her.
“Would you ever want to go on a date with me?”
Pepper blinks.
“Yes,” she says without skipping a beat. “But we need to have a discussion before I dedicate myself to this cause.”
“What am I, a Salvation Army donation bin?”
“Maybe.”
“Then dinner-and-discussion tonight. Not a date. Just...talking.”
-
She’s nervous. She’s put her hair up so that she won’t run her fingers through it, but now she’s just fidgeting with her necklace and bracelet.
Tony looks nice. He’s in a casual graphic tee and old jeans that are older than she actually knew they could hold together. She is in old shorts and a tank top and yeah it’s casual but it’s also nice and wow she’s really over-thought this.
“So, what are your concerns?” Tony says. Getting to the point straight-away, that’s always his move. Pepper gulps.
“You mind if I get water?”
“Not at all.”
She sips on water.
“My concern is that I’m transgender and you need to know that before we pursue anything.”
Tony blinks.
“Um. Okay. Was not expecting that right out. I was more thinking you would have a problem with my new armor and Rhodey and I being immature when he visits and also how much time I spend on inventing.”
“Well yeah, those too. But I deal with those all the time. But I’m also concerned about you pissing off the government and them sending secret agents to kill us.”
Jarvis cuts in smoothly.
“I am afraid, Miss Potts, that they wouldn’t make it two hundred feet of this current residence. Would you like me to update security protocols at other residences around the globe?”
“You can do that?” Pepper asks.
“Yes, Miss Potts.”
“Please do update, thank you.”
Tony grins, looking at her. The same way. Which is kind of exhilarating, all things considered.
“You amaze me. J, remind me that if Pep and I break up, I need to build a bunker that could withstand a nuclear war.”
“I will not remind you of that, as I’m sure it will be on you,” Jarvis remarks.
Pepper snorts.
“I wasn’t aware that I was going to turn my AI against myself,” Tony sighs. “Such is life.”
Pepper grins. He squeezes her hand.
“You want to celebrate this with wine? I’m sure tomorrow you’ll have me signing so many forms for workplace relationships that I’ll cry by two p.m.”
“Make that one p.m., and you’ll be fine you big baby,” Pepper teases.
Tony blows her a kiss as he gets up from the couch.
“Thank you. For telling me. I know that that’s hard to tell people. Discuss more of it later, or now?”
“Mm, later. It’s late at night, I’m tired.”
“Gotcha. You want red or white tonight?”
“...Red.”
Tony grins, getting out the wine glasses. He pours carefully and expertly, and raises his. They clink their glasses together.
“Cheers to more success. For the both of us.”
Pepper grins softly.
“For success.”

Quote
The show currently on had a bunch of stuffed shirts sitting at a round table. ["...my esteemed colleague, Professor Newell, gives too much credence to the ex-Avengers' education. I simply don't believe they all read and fully comprehended the document they were rejecting. Steve Rogers had a high school diploma and one year of art college."] Steve curled his lip. ["That doesn't mean he's illiterate," Newell, a brown-haired man with glasses, said. The other man, his tight coils of hair salt and pepper gray, raised an eyebrow. "As a lawyer, I'd be the first to say legal documents are needlessly complex, but no lay person can just sit down and read a 1000-page legal agreement and absorb the intricacies with nothing more than a high school education from the 1940s. Not without help." Newell ceded the point with a nod. "And Wanda Maximoff is a street orphan and doesn't even have that. Ditto Clint Barton, who grew up in a traveling circus. The Ant Man has an engineering degree, which makes me think he would have ample education to comprehend the Accords, but he had little time to do it in—only the flight to Germany, and investigators say he was likely shrunk and in Clint Barton's pocket, as there's no evidence of him on the passenger list, but he suddenly appeared at the Leipzig/Halle airport. It's questionable he bothered to shrink the Accords with him or bring the necessary resources to decipher all the legalese."] Scott got up and left the room. Wanda curled up and hugged her knees to her chest. Steve remembered the hasty conversation he'd had with Scott before the battle. Scott had no idea about the Accords back then. He thought they were there to fight over killer assassins. Steve rubbed his forehead. ["That leaves only Sergeant Sam Wilson, a man well-educated by the armed forces. I wondered what made him reject a document that his own government and one hundred and sixteen other countries supported, and then I read up on Lieutenant General Ross' record. Any man who has served in the military and heard of Ross' abuse of his own forces and how he used his own daughter as bait in pursuit of The Hulk would have zero respect for the retired general and Secretary of State. Ross was spearheading the US support of the Accords. Whether or not this influenced Sergeant Wilson's decision to reject them, I cannot say."] "This is bullshit," Clint said, obviously fuming. "I didn't need some stupid diploma to tell me the Accords are a shitty idea." ["You haven't said anything about the Black Widow," the moderator said, shifting his papers around on the big desk. "Ms. Romanov is an interesting case. Raised and educated by the top-secret Soviet training program called the Red Room, the Black Widow supported the Accords at first. She appeared to recognize their necessity, but then during the fight at the airport seemed to run into an issue of allegiance in fighting her friends. Understandable, I think. It's why the Avengers should never have been sent to contain the renegades. But who else could battle that sort of might? "In any event, it appears to be no coincidence that the Avengers who sided with the Accords all have master's degrees or higher." "Or much higher," the mediator said, abandoning neutrality. "Lieutenant Colonel Rhodes as a master's in engineering as well as officer's training, Stark has multiple doctorates, and the Vision is said to have access to the sum of all human knowledge. The King of Wakanda obviously has the finest political education as a leader of his nation, and I understand he is also an engineer." "Nothing is known about the Spider-Man," Newell said. "No, that's true. He'll have to remain an enigma." "But it's your contention that education had something to do with renegades choosing not to support the Accords," the mediator said. "I think it's obvious."] *** ["Hello, all. Thank you for time. "As Mr. Sjöberg mentioned, I recently came into some information regarding The Winter Soldier that I felt was of international importance, especially since he had the protection of some very powerful people. The ICC is just the place to turn when the State is unable or unwilling to carry out an investigation and prosecute the perpetrators."] Steve drew in a shocked breath. ["I found this information at a Hydra bunker in Siberia, where Rogers, Barnes and I had an altercation about whether suppressing this information was cool or not." Stark gave an acid grin. "In the course of this disagreement, Rogers disabled my suit and left me in the Hydra bunker to freeze, unable to radio a rescue team."] Sam sank his head into his hands with a curse. ["However, Rogers' 'leave our teammates behind' policy turned out to be useful, because while searching for a way to communicate with my rescue team, I discovered a trove of records spanning back decades on the Hydra supersoldier program. I looked through all of it, hoping to save it and get retrieved before Hydra returned. "What I discovered was more than enough: movies, photos, and detailed plans to assassinate political heads of state, industrial leaders, diplomats, prominent artists, radical leaders and activists, all of whom were murdered by The Winter Soldier. Included in these documents were the names of the ones who ordered the kills, the criminals behind the deeds. For the last three weeks, with the assistance of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, that's what we've been up to—rounding up the bad guys with a vengeance." The murmurs grew into a roar of approval. "Most of the Hydra operatives still living have been arrested for their complicity in murdering countless important figures who stood against Hydra's core principles of racism and fascism. Despite the unnecessary delay introduced by Rogers, who could have put us onto Barnes and thus the location of the bunker that much sooner, the loved ones and family members of the deceased will at long last know, and hopefully find peace in knowing, just what happened to their loved ones, and why."] Tony's voice trembled on the last part, and Steve felt a pit growing in his stomach that he couldn't shake off. ["My only regret is whom I have to thank for this. The man behind the Vienna bombing was the one who revealed the truth to me by showing me the video of my parents being murdered by The Winter Soldier. The man who told me the truth is a criminal. But then, the man who kept the truth from us all is a criminal as well. "Thank you all for listening. There will be no questions."] *** Tony lifted his hand and smacked away the letter he was writing as Rhodey walked in. "Sour patch! Look at you. How're the legs feeling?" "Better now that I tweaked the timing on the left one. Feels more natural now. But, Tony..." "Awesome. You should totally patent that port thing. That was really good work." Tony pulled up the schematics of Rhodey's braces to take a look at the timing adjustment port Rhodey had added. "I don't have time for—that's not why I came in here, Tones. Vision got a call—" "Time, shmime. I'll have Friday draft up the diagrams and application for you." "It would be my pleasure, Colonel Rhodes." "Yes, fine. Thanks, Fri. Tones, listen. Something's happened with the renegades." Tony stopped fiddling and gave Rhodey his full attention. "Tell me." "It's weird as hell." Rhodey dropped onto a lab stool and rolled over to join him. "Wanda contacted Vision to tell him she delivered Rogers to the US Embassy in Nairobi. I checked, and sure enough, according to embassy officials, she made him walk in like a zombie, then directed him to 'Wait here until Tony Stark comes to arrest you.'"
Into the Weeds by truet
This is literally the best Team Iron Man fic I read till now, and it includes all the things I missed from the other ones: acknowledgment of Rhodey’s smarts, acknowledgment of the education Rogues had, acknowledgment that Wanda may actually get angry at Steve when she learns what he did and what it means to her, acknowledgment that Hydra agents who ordered the murders should be arrested, acknowledgment of Tony relying on other people to actually accomplish or polish the things he engages with (JCCT, braces).
The only thing it doesn’t have is acknowledgment that Shuri doesn’t need BARF to help Barnes, but it’s only because the fact that the story never reaches that point, but damn, so many Team Iron Man fics mistreats other charas and I know it is not malicious, that it is because the authors love Tony and want him to fix the issues himself, but Tony isn’t omnipotent god of science and I would like people to get that Shuri is as mart as he is and can definitely handle helping Barnes and making his arm without Tony’s help, as much as Rhodey can fix his braces and doesn’t need Tony to constantly do it for him, because he has proper education to handle that, and also he is the user, so he knows best what is wrong and what is right and what works.
I also tend to like the stories which don’t demonize Wanda more than the ones which do, because I think she was radicalized, but not evil and those stories, where she is an evil Hydra agent or actually went mad long ago and nobody noticed, as much as interesting and enjoyable don’t really get what it means to be radicalized and then trying to de-radicalize and also heavily fall into the trap of demonizing a woman in the same way misogynist media creators usually do and the only thing I can blame is the fact that we all are raised in the society which hates women and even if we don’t actively believe in it some of it stays with us, in our subconscious and affects what we write and how. Everybody is capable of evil as long as they believe something very much and Wanda is more prone to that due to her background. Not to mention that those stories also usually infantilize her and I like to see her actually being treated like an adult she always was, who understands the consequences of Steve’s action for her and who would do something, albeit something stupid mind you, to mitigate her case, because she is an adult, and she like any other adult person would want to help her case somehow.
Oh, and author also knows how the whole “who arrests who” system works, so their stories actually show that nobody in the MCU creator board of creators, including the Russos, does a goddamn research about Europe. Most people don’t have this knowledge, so movies don’t seem off to them, but to people who do have this knowledge movies are weird and illogical.

My Bride Girl
Bucky Barnes x Huntress! Reader
Summary: Bucky wants to take the next step in your relationship. The only problem is- he gotta ask your two brothers for your hand. And, of course, actually ask you to marry him. Not the easiest tasks in the world.
Warnings: fluff, swearing, Avengers x Supernatural crossover, implied smut
Word Count: 2293
A/N: New part is here (*read in sing-song voice*). I’m sorry it took me so long, but there was a lot on my table. Hope you’ll enjoy this little something where the brothers are a little more in the front than in the previous parts. Let me know what you guys thought.
My Girl Miniseries Masterlist __ Masterlist
Part I Part II Part III
The whole idea suddenly seemed unnecessary and slightly insulting to Bucky. He was sitting in the bunker, his arms folded over his chest, patiently waiting till your brothers finished their research and they could fully concentrate on what Bucky wanted to ask them.
Bucky thought of asking for your hand many times in the 6 months you two have lived together. There were days that he thought that it was the fucking 21st century and that you were your own woman and he didn’t need permission to “own” you. He wouldn’t own you. You’d still be very much your own person, but if he were lucky enough, you’d decide to spend your independent life with him.
And then there were the other days. Those days he thought about his own upbringing and how it would have been unheard of, were he to propose to you without talking to either your father or your brother. He would have brought disgrace to both your families, and just the thought sent shivers down his spine. He didn’t want that. Not now, not ever.
But when he decided to actually go with the plan and talk to your two terrifying brothers, the notion of their scariness seemed to have vanished from his mind. He now knew them as two cool dudes who drank beer with him and talked monsters. But Bucky knew deep down that if anything happened to you, and it was, for some reason, his fault, both Dean and Sam would hunt him down and kill him. Slowly and painfully. Dean made that much clear when they last had this type of conversation.
So now, sitting in the bunker with you still in New York, unaware of this suicidal mission of Bucky’s, he grew slightly worried. What if the brothers didn’t want him in the family? What if they actually said no to him? What would he do next? He couldn’t not marry you, that notion was as unimaginable as breathing without oxygen. Nope. He couldn’t lose you, and definitely not because your brothers said so.
Bucky could feel himself spiralling, and wished you were there with him. You always knew when he was beginning to feel this way, and you had your ways of calming him down by a stroke on his hand or a gentle whisper to his ear. But he didn’t have you there, and he began to regret it.
Before he could have a full-blown panic attack, Sam and Dean came into the room. They were both smiling at him, and it made Bucky feel a little better about the whole situation.
“So, you said you wanted to talk, some shit with a mission or something?” Dean smiled friendly at Bucky.
Bucky shook his head and accepted the beer Dean was offering him.
“Nah, Earth’s safe for a little while, at least. There’s another thing that I kinda need to talk to you two about. It’s about Y/N,” Bucky said and could sense the change of atmosphere in the room. Both brothers sat up a little straighter, and their hands gripped the bottles just a tiny bit tighter.
“Yeah? And what about Y/N?” Sam asked cautiously.
“If you thinking about breaking up with her and came to ask if it was a good idea, so help me Chuck, Bucky,…” Dean didn’t finish the sentence, just staring at Bucky intently.
“What?” Bucky almost shrieked. “No, Christ no. That’s not it. Quite the opposite, actually. I came here to ask you for her hand. Not like, you own her, and now I want to own her kind of way. More like, I love her, and I know you two love her and I thought that I would love to have your blessing to go with it. Because your sister is amazing, and I cannot imagine my life without her in it, and I want to make it as official as possible,” Bucky breathed out, not really sure what reaction he should prepare himself for.
A long silence followed. Bucky could see the brothers sharing a long look, their eyes perching up and down. They obviously had one of their famous eye-conversation that Bucky heard so much about, and he would give anything to be in their heads at that moment.
“You promise to cherish and protect her? To love her even when she has one of those bitchy moods? To be with her no matter what the situation is?” Dean asked Bucky with a slight edge to his tone. Bucky couldn’t decipher what the tone was, but that wasn’t important. They weren’t saying no. Not an obvious one at least.
“Yes, yes, I promise all those things. I wish nothing more than to protect her and to love her the best I can. And although I know it might not be enough at times, I’ll try and be better for her. Because she deserves the world, and I intend on giving it to her,” Bucky said with a small smile on his lips, because he remembered your sweet smile and your pretty face, and he truly couldn’t wait to be by your side again.
The brothers shared a brief look again, and when they both looked at Bucky, he suddenly understood what the edge in Dean’s voice was before. It was the utter love your brothers had for you, and the feeling that you were all grown-up now, ready to start a whole new chapter on your own.
Sam and Dean stood up before they reached Bucky, who also stood up immediately. They brought him in a bear hug, patting his back and grinning like two idiots.
“Good, welcome to the family, Barnes. You’re not getting rid of us now,” Sam hollered, and Bucky had to laugh at the two of them. They were idiots, but truth be told, in those months that Bucky dated you, he grew to like and respect your brothers, so it brought him immense joy to know that they supported him.
Now, the “easier” part was ahead of him. He had to actually propose to you.
2 weeks later
You were getting ready for a dinner date with Bucky, trying to look your prettiest, because he told you to get all dolled up. You were excited because you loved getting ready for him- all pretty dresses and even prettier lingerie always made him all giddy and horny. You knew Bucky loved you without all the make-up and dresses on as well, but sometimes it was nice and even beneficial for your relationship to put a little extra care in.
You wore a black bandage dress with matching stilettos, while your make-up was on point with your favourite red lipstick applied perfectly, making your lips look juicy and all kissy-kissy. You just knew Bucky would groan at the sight of you, he always did when you dolled up for him.
There was a time when you had to attend one of Tony’s parties, and Bucky got so horny and bothered in your shared apartment, that you two arrived two hours late to the event. Needless to say, the lipstick on Bucky’s white-collar shirt was proof enough of what the two of you were doing.
When you heard the light knock on your bedroom door, you smiled at yourself to the mirror and revealed a perfectly looking Bucky behind the door.
“Well, look at yourself, Mr Handsome. I’m one lucky lady, aren’t I?” You smirked eyeing Bucky up and down like he was a candy. And, truth be told, he really was a fucking candy. Your favourite one, even.
Bucky just blushed a little before he noticed just how good you looked. You could see his pupils dilating ever so slightly before he grabbed you and kissed your cheek, mindful of your freshly applied lipstick.
“I wanna see it smeared all over your face by the end of the night, doll,” he growled into your ear, and before you could come up with something funny, he dragged you out of the room.
“Where are you taking me, Buck?” You asked with a smile, but the response never came. He just looked at you with mischief playing in his eyes and led you to the elevator. He pressed the button that led to the roof, and your frown increased. But you didn’t want to ruin the surprise he obviously prepared for you, so you stayed quiet, nibbling on your lower lip to relieve yourself of the slight anxiety you were feeling.
When the elevator finally stopped with a halt, you took a deep breath before you looked at Bucky. To your surprise, he was already watching you with a smile on his lips. He took your hand and brought it to his lips, kissing the back of it lightly while still maintaining an eye-contact with you.
It was your turn to blush, the tingling in your cheek heating up your whole face. You reciprocated the smile and followed Bucky to the roof.
You took a look around, and you could see why Bucky was so secretive, where he’d normally tell you all his plans without you even asking. The roof looked like something from a movie. There was a table in the middle, with a lit candle being the only source of light on the whole surface. It made it all a little more romantic.
Bucky led you to the table, letting you sit first before you grabbed his own chair to sit opposite of you. You could see a tray next to the table with various foods and beverages, but the most prominent was the bottle of champagne on ice.
“What is the occasion, love? We don’t usually drink champagne on a Friday night,” you said, trying to hide your nerves.
“Just wanted to have a nice dinner with my best girl, anything wrong with that?” Bucky asked with a laugh and poured you champagne, right after he put a slice of your favourite pizza on your plate.
You ate while chatting comfortably, laughing at stupid things just like you always did, but you could feel Bucky was nervous for some unknown reason. You tried to get it out of him a few times during the dinner, but he would always shake his head and tell you that it was nothing, that he wasn’t nervous at all.
You wanted to be your sarcastic self, but you surpassed these urges for the sake of the night. You could see he gave the whole dinner a lot of thought and you didn’t want to ruin it by your snarky comments. So you just nodded your head at him and let him be nervous on his own.
When you finished your desserts, you shared a moment of comfortable silence, before Bucky excused himself and ran somewhere behind you. You didn’t want to be too curious or sneaky, so you kept staring forward, enjoying the view at the whole city in front of you.
When you felt movement beside you, you turned your head only to find Bucky next to you. On one knee.
“What-what are you doing, Buck?” You asked, shaking.
“Shh, let me say it, doll. I love you more than anything in this world, Y/N. I knew from the moment I saw you were something else. You are the most badass woman I’ve ever met, you’re beautiful, smart, caring, and, for some reason that I still can’t figure out, you’re with me. And I can’t imagine a moment you won’t be next to me, so I thought I’d go for it. I want to spend the rest of our lives making sure you’re loved and cherished and that you’ve got everything you ever needed. You’re my everything, and I’ll make sure you know it. So, Y/N (Y/M/D) Y/L/N, would you do me the honour and become my wife?” Bucky said, tears welling up in his eyes.
You, however, were full-on crying by now. You never knew you could be this happy, especially with a man. You thought you were destined to end up alone because there wouldn’t be a man crazy enough to date a huntress. But here you were, with the love of your life on his knee, asking you to be his forever. There was only one answer on your mind.
“Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes. James Buchanan Barnes, I would love nothing more than being yours forever,” you said through the sobs escaping your lips.
Bucky laughed out loud and put the ring on your shaking fingers with his not-less shaky hands. He then jumped up to bring you in for a kiss, suddenly not caring that your lipstick would be everywhere.
You were pretty sure that the wetness on your cheeks were tears combined from the both of you, and the more your heart swelled. Bucky wanted it as much as you did. And you would really spend the rest of your lives together. Then a thought occurred to you. You pulled away from him, and Bucky had a questioning look on his face.
“Did you talk to my brothers?” You asked, doubt laced in your tone.
Bucky laughed and pecked your lips again. “Of course, wouldn’t dare not to ask them. Can you imagine the scene those two would cause if I didn’t come to them first?”
You laughed out loud and hugged Bucky closer. You were beyond with happiness. You kissed Bucky again, letting all those emotions you weren’t able to verbalise just yet seep through the kiss.
When you pulled away, you had a devilish smirk on your face, and Bucky swallowed heavily.
“So, want to smear that lipstick all over, future husband?”

Fuck it.
Summary: Loki and Tony have been dating for a while in secret, one day where the ex-Rogues are getting too much on Tony’s nerves and he decides to say fuck it to their little secret.
Pairing: IronFrost Tony Stark x Loki
Words: 2.0k
A/N: 1st fic of 2021! Tell me what you think about it :)
Tony frowned as he felt the sun’s rays hit his face. He simply didn’t want to wake up and face the cold outside of his bed and the people outside his bedroom.
He nuzzled closer from the “not that hot” body that was lying next to him. He felt the body’s chest rise up and down quickly as the same time as hearing a low laugh. Tony groaned and half-heartedly hit the torso of the other male.
“Stop laughing at me Loki. You’re just a comfy pillow.”, Tony stated, voice rough because of the previous night.
“Oh, considering what happened yesterday night, I’m more than just a pillow to you huh?”, the Asgardian asked a smirk playing on his lips even though the other couldn’t see him.
“Meh, just an upgraded pillow.”, Tony grinned as he moved to take a look at his lover. He looked at his pale features and bright green eyes and kissed the dark-haired male softly.
“I wish we wouldn’t have to leave that room…”
“Me too darling… Sadly we have to go or those companions of yours will wonder why Tony Stark didn’t left his bedroom and they will find a stupid reason about it as if you’re going to murder someone…”, Loki said, a small frown on his face.
“I know, they act like assholes, but we have no other choices but have them here.”
Tony sighed and laid back his head on Loki’s torso, closing his eyes to savour the moment they were having before they inevitably had to separate themselves from each other for the day. After cuddling for extra minutes Loki regretfully pulled away and put on his clothes.
“Sorry love, I have to go back to my room…”
“It’s okay Loki-doki, see you later then.”, the nickname made Loki groan playfully as he pulled the last piece of cloth on him and left to go to his bedroom.
Tony stared at the now closed door and felt his heart ache from the emptiness he felt, even though Loki just left. He wishes they could spend every second with each other but alas they couldn’t. Mainly because they were housing the ex-Rogues with whom he wasn’t on good terms at the moments. After all, he received a nearly fatal wound from someone he admired greatly, of course their relations would be very strained.
Tony sighed and stood up, looking for his clothes and put them on before checking if he had any hickeys or not and when satisfied with the covering of his . He gathered all his mental strength and stepped out his room, locking it behind him and left to go to the kitchen, trying to dismiss the feeling of dread in his stomach as he neared the room and arbored a look of tiredness and confidence as he stepped inside.
Some ex-Rogues were eating but luckily for him Rogers was probably jogging or something else and Tony was glad for that. Even though he wasn’t the most aggressive of the band, Tony felt constantly judged by the man and the ghost of his father every time the blonde male was trying to talk about what happened.
Tony took a mug as he nodded politely to the Rogues present and made himself a cup of coffee and waited a bit impatiently and slightly anxious. He heard the haughty scoff which obviously came from Wanda and tried not to wince at the thought of her being able to use freely her powers against him if she ever wanted.
“Of course, the great Tony Stark wouldn’t talk to us. He’s better than that after all.”
Tony closed his eyes as the last drops of coffee fell in into his mug and grabbed it, trying to put a pleasant a face and turned to face her and the others.
“Well good morning then Wanda, good morning to you too Clint and Natasha.”
Tony walked away to his lab, a fake air of confidence to avoid any questions and once he was in one of his favourite places in the tower he dropped the act and sighed tiredly. Having the ex-Rogues clearly had taken a toll on his mental health but sadly he had no choices to accept them, mainly because he felt guilty leaving his ex-comrades even though they were the one who messed with him in first place but also partly because the government didn’t like to see their star super-hero being a fugitive so of course they wanted him to become once again a great team.
Tony sipped on his coffee and started to work on his current project, giving instructions to Friday and gently lectured DUM-E whenever he brought the wrong object to help him. Bruce came later in the room, starting his own work quietly, sometimes disrupting their quiet work by asking some help for something. Tony really enjoyed working in this calm but sadly every good things have to ends and it happened when Steve decided to step inside the lab.
“Stark, we need to talk.”
Tony kept working on his project.
“We can do it here. What do you want Rogers?”
“I’d like to know if we’re obligated to have Loki around. Wanda and Clint feel really uncomfortable whenever he’s around, and truth to be told I am too.”
“Oh and you don’t think I’m uncomfortable around Wanda?”, Tony scoffed but stopped working to avoid any accidents.
“C’mon Tony that’s ridiculous, she’s a child who made mistakes! Loki is a grown ass adult who tried to invade the Earth and murder everyone! Why is he here anyway?”, Tony could feel Steve trying to keep his “golden hero” façade by trying to keep himself from yelling at Tony. The dark-haired man turned to face the other hero.
“Well if you had read the news asshole, you would have known that Loki had been mind controlled, which means he attacked Earth against his will. He could have invaded Earth from anywhere but no, right in New York where a lot of heroes are stationed. A bit weird for someone who want to submit the planet huh? Seriously Rogers, Wanda is not a kid either she’s in her 20’s!”
“Tha-That’s not the same! She was tricked into thinking they were friendly!”
“Well the situations are quite the same in my opinion! Anyway, I don’t even know why I bother talking about this to you? If you have a problem with anyone in the team, I’m not the boss here you should see Ross and the council they’ll decide of solutions and all.”
“Tony you can’t dismiss this like that!”, Steve took a step toward Tony, making the man
“I-“ “Rogers, not only he can, but he just did. Why don’t you go see Ross like Anthony advised you?”
Loki stepped in, seemingly out of thin air (which wouldn’t be surprising considering the man’s powers). Steve stared at the Asgardian, turning a bit red and stomped awa.
Tony sighed as Loki approached him.
“Are you alright love?”
“Yes thank you Loki.”
Tony felt soft lips touching their forehead and he happily sighed. Bruce was still in the room but ignored the two lovers. They didn’t mind being affective in front of people who actually cared about them, they knew they wouldn’t be judged, and it was better to keep their relationship between people who really mattered to them to avoid any complications.
They stayed close to each other for a few moments before Tony told him he had to work on his project. Loki offered to help or at least stay in the lab in case Steve would come back to bother him, but Tony rejected the offer.
Loki kissed him in the cheek and left to train with Stephen. Tony kept a soft smile the whole time, that was the effect the ex-villain had on him. He heard Bruce laughing and he turned his head to hide he was laughing about Tony.
“Shut up Bruce there’s nothing funny!”
The other man tried to calm himself as Tony looked at him dead serious, trying not to break character because holy molly it was great to see Bruce laughing freely and in genuine happiness. Once Bruce calmed down they resumed their work but not for long before they got interrupted again, this time by Clint.
“Stark. Why is Loki roaming free around me?”, Tony couldn’t help but sigh, the Rogues weren’t able to discuss between each other to coordinate their complains.
“Barton. I can’t resolve this issue, I’m not the boss here and earlier Rogers came to talk to me about this issue. He went to see Ross so if you would please go and join them instead of bothering me during work.”
Tony heard Clint stomp away and sighed before continuing his work. He didn’t see the time pass and before he knew it, it was time for dinner and Bruce reminded him, forcing him to leave his work alone. It was something that happened during the time the Rogues weren’t here yet, he had taken upon himself to eat at reasonable hours and was “forced” by Loki to sleep a bit more than before and truth to be told, he felt a bit better.
When they arrived in the kitchen, everyone was already here and the only place available was next to Steve, but luckily to his left there was Loki and Tony sent a secret smile to his lover, which got reciprocated by a smile smirk and a heated gaze making Tony feel hot on the inside. But he didn’t ignore the glares Loki was getting from most of the ex-Rogues, mainly Clint and Steve who’s meeting with Ross didn’t seems to go the way they had hoped.
On the inside Tony felt really glad Ross and the council had denied whatever request they had made about Loki, even if he knew that it wouldn’t have been accepted, considering that the Rogues were on a kind of probation with everything they did prior to be re-integrated to the Avengers they wouldn’t be believed unless they brought substantial proofs.
Everyone dived in the meal, trying to keep it civil between but of course it didn’t last before Loki couldn’t help but make a sarcastic jab toward Steve’s behaviour with Tony, making everyone start an argument.
Tony sighed tiredly, he knew they shouldn’t have accepted trying to have a meal with everyone pre and post Russian bunker incident reunited in the same place for a meal. He just wanted to everyone to shut up and eat their meal but he knew it wouldn’t be so easy. He ignored the injunctions that were thrown at him by Wanda and Clint and instead observed Loki’s face who was sporting a smirk on his face as he was arguing with the Rogues, clearly insulting their abilities and, in that moment, Tony found him extremely hot.
Tony decided if everyone was already hot angry why not throw some grease on the fire. This would be fun. He suddenly stands up, catching Loki’s shirt collar in his hand and kissed his lover, cutting short the Asgardian insult toward Wanda’s magic and well shutting up everyone because they were now gaping at him.
Tony stopped kissing and winked at Loki who seemed shocked for a split second but quickly put on a grin and licked his lips.
“C’mon Loki-doki, let’s eat in the lab it’ll be quieter.”
Steve was spluttering, shocked, and most of the Rogues were trying to find something to say about the display of affection that just took place in front of them.
“Also, yes, I’m dating Loki and we’re damn happy. And you clearly don’t have a say in this. Go complain to Ross, again, and everyone who you think they care and see how they will react.”
Tony snatched his plate and left the room, quickly followed by Loki who had a shit-eating grin on his face. Once they were in the lab Loki talked.
“Well love, that some spectacle you put out there.”
“At least those little assholes will actually have something to complain about.”
Loki laughed, from now on the Rogues will definitely will have to worry not only about the PDA but also on which surface they want to eat their food on.

T.H.E. W.I.R.E.S.
Peter and his Friends are allowed to design the compound and couldn’t help but riddle it with secret tunels and hallways. While Peter installs said hallways he makes some new acquaintences who he has to help and gets help from.
Chapter 1 Chapter 4
Chapter 5: arrangements 2
Peter picked out a small array of clothes from the ones they had gotten for Clint, Sam and Natasha.
Bringing the clothes to the room didn’t help the buzzing in his head though. So, he decided to take a walk to the small lake in the forest behind the compound.
As he stepped out, the sun had begun to set. Its warmth still lingered in the air, carrying the scent of dry earth and wildflowers
Breath after breath spread the dulled down electricity of summer throughout his whole body; and he savoured every last one of the sunrays reaching his skin.
Usually, he didn’t go for walks that much. Because for some reason.. birdsongs made him uneasy.
But right now, when coupled with such calming sensations and the contrast of how uncomfortable the compound felt right now, not even those alien tunes could bother him.
His spider sense in his head wasn’t gone perse, but it had calmed enough to be mistaken for a comfortable dizziness.
Strolling towards the forest, he cherished this moment of peace.
Bevor, he had thought that the only reason he was this wound up had been his concern for Loki.
Now he realised that it was pent up stress from the last few weeks. There had always been something to do.
Even though he knew he had enough time to get everything done; his perfectionism and anxiety to mess up seemed to have gotten the better of him.
Right this moment though? He felt a fragile, airy kind of contempt.
Trying to hold on to it for as long as possible as he made his way over to the treeline, he attempted to keep his thoughts empty and concentrate on all senses but his vision.
The ground beneath his feet was uneven and had only a minimal give to it.
Occasionally a stray fern or flower would stroke over his ankles and his clothes were soft on his skin, slowly building up warmth.
Behind him the faint, familiar hum of the arc reactors and electrical currents gave him a sense of safety, while the trees that rustled lazily in front of him seemed calm and reminded him of picnics with his aunt and uncle in the park.
He could hear woodpeckers, chip away at varying distances and wondered how many a normal person would be able to make out.
Only someone with enhanced senses would be able to hear the sloshing of the lake; of that he was sure.
But what about the cracking of twigs now and then? The beating wings and calls of baby birds, signalling their parents? Would Tony have been able to pick up on the grunting deer, somewhere to the right of him?
As he stepped under the first tree, he was greeted by the much colder, more humid air.
Moss cushioned his steps, swallowing all noise he made.
All but his breathing, which refreshed his lungs and grounded him, further.
Just as he thought that it would be helpful, if he opened his eyes again, the buzzing in his head flared up. Telling him to step to the side.
He did and at the same time opened his eyes. He had barely managed to avoid a collision with a tree.
Smiling to himself, he continued along, following the sound of water.
Arriving at his destination, his light mood seemed to shatter, like a bubble of hair thin glass. A cold shudder run down his spine as he found himself a tree with a large branch he could sit on.
In the dim evening light, the lake looked almost like a black void; reminding him of the deep, freezing cold water the vulture had dropped him in, and how he could have drowned if it wasn’t for Tony.
Peter owed this man, to whom he looked up to like he was a father, so much, that it stung; having to hide something so big from him.
A resigned sigh escaped his lips, when his spider sense suddenly concentrated more to one side, not telling him to do anything, but alerting him of some kind of presence.
‘Probably just some wild animal’ he thought. Not wanting to move and startle it.
But then, whatever it was, came closer and he got the impression that it probably wasn’t an animal.
His spider sense didn’t seem to register it as a threat though, and in his melancholic musings, he refused to move.
It was probably vision, wanting to check on him.
“Excuse me.” A female voice broke the silence, making him look in her direction.
“You are Spiderman, are you not?”
The woman he saw standing there was beautiful. A golden glow emanated from her, making everything about her look incredibly soft.
What struck him the most was how much she reminded him of his aunt May. With that kind look on her face. Eyes filled with worry but standing firm; No doubt in whether or not she did the right thing.
It was by no means hard to believe that she was a goddess.
Because of course, he knew who she was.
He had waited for her to arrive since he spoke to Mr. Loki.
“Uhm. Ma’am. Yes, I-. I’m spiderman.” He had to clear his throat bevor continuing. “I guess you’re here because of Mr- because of your son?”
In his head, Peter scolded himself for stumbling around his sentences, and almost faceplanting when he jumped down from the tree.
The goddess before him just smiled sweetly.
“Yes. He said you would find some place for him to stay.” she replied, politely ignorant of the teens nervousness; which put him at ease a little bit.
Nodding to himself, he answered “I have a room for him, hidden in the compound. Nobody will know he is here.” With his eyes he tried to convey as much earnestness as he could.
If this woman was anything like May, she would want to be sure that her son was in safe hands.
“We just have to somehow break him out. He said you would know how to?”
His answer was another one of those kind smiles, she seemed to give out plenty of.
How could the child of a woman as sweet and caring as this turn out trying to take over a planet. It was a puzzle with at least one missing piece; but he was determined to solve it non the less.
“Bringing him to Midgard is easy enough. Shall I bring him directly to the building?” It was clear that she was convinced he would say yes, but he shook his head.
“I think it’s better if you bring him here. His room is underground, and the nearest entrance is right over there.” He pointed to a big tree stump near where the forest gave way for a little gravel beach.
“It was mean to be a hidden bunker” He explained, blushing a little with how weird this must be for her.
She looked around, trying to memorize the place as detailed as possible before returning her gaze to Peter with a sigh.
"You can't imagine how grateful I am for your generosity. He has made his fair share of missteps but..
“he is a good boy at heart and I believe much can be attributed to his father’s treatment of him. I don't know what exactly happened when I wasn't around, but judging by the current situation, the animosity between them must have festered for quite some time now."
The young hero wasn't sure why she felt like she had to explain herself.
Without her, there was probably little to no chance of escape for her son, but she did help and it was clear to him that she cared.
“I’m sure he knows that.” He replied, not knowing what else he could say. “I will make sure that he is safe and has time and space to heal.” It was the least he could do in his opinion.
Frigga smiled again, her eyes fond and a little sad. Something about him told her that he was familiar with pain.
“He always had a good judgement of people. I’m just glad he will finally have a companion his age, you two are not so different from each other.”
A companion his age?
That statement confused Peter but bevor he could ask, the woman in front of him sighed and stood up a little straighter.
“Don’t worry if it takes a while for us to get back. I have to make sure that we can’t be traced back here. And it would probably be best, you prepare everything.”
Nodding the boy took a step in the direction of the entrance.
“When you arrive before I’m back out, just knock three times in the stump, leave a small pause, and knock twice. It will open and notify me.” He demonstrated the pattern but nothing happened.
The goddess raised a brow in question.
“Just need to put that into the system it’s for this occasion only... makes it easier.”
She nodded.
“We will meet again soon” she said before turning to the side and disappearing with a single step.
For a few seconds, he stood there, trying to get the whole conversation straight and not miss anything.
He still had no clue what she meant with the ‘his age’ thing but decided it wasn’t that important right now.
Loki’s Room was furnished, had electricity and a bath, he had fresh clothes…
What else did he need; like right now?
While he thought about it, he went over to other side of the stump and with his fingers found a small crack in the wood.
Pressing a plate at the top of it opened a panel in one of the roots, easy to miss if you didn’t look for it. He tapped in the code to open THE WIRES and was promptly met by the voice of Manuel.
“Sneaking in through the back door, are we? Does your father know you’re out this late?”
For some reason, the AI kept referring to Tony as his father; probably because of the rumours going around the tower.
Most of the data he had given him to learn speech from was security footage from the labs and living quarters.
“He wouldn’t be surprised now, would he?” Peter replied, before instructing Manuel on what to do when he got the signal.
While doing that, he remembered that his guest probably didn’t have nearly enough to eat in the past years, so he decided to make some eggs on toast, as well as bring some ingredients to the little kitchen nook for the god to be able to make himself something whenever he desired.
Most of the tracks back and forth were made by the service robot, while he made sure the eggs wouldn’t burn and that at least one of the ways into THE WIRES was open, so he could communicate with the AI in them.
The Gods hadn’t arrived yet, when he was done.
Placing everything to be kept warm into an insulated box and handing it off to the ever-busy robot, he made his way to the lab to finish of his watch.
KAREN was too much of a risk, and it was important that Manuel could always contact him.
This task didn’t take long either; the programming for it being rather simple.
Though he was sure that the older AI had noticed that his behaviour was weird; He hoped that she didn’t notice that he had given Manuel the possibility to override any protocols and contact attempts KAREN started from there and to ‘switch out’ at any time he entered THE WIRES.
Peter had just grabbed a (second) first aid kit and was on his way to their meeting place, when Manuel informed him that the two had knocked.
He checked that KAREN couldn’t hear through the watch, but the display pulsed a dark green, as opposed to her bright red.
“Don’t worry, I’ll ensure that she won’t find out.” Her counterpart assured. The boy gave a nod, but was too tense to speak, while running to greet the arriving Aesir.
They were taking the last step down the stairs when he came around the last corner; and the aspiring engineer was glad that he had decided to change to stairs after a short, initial drop with ladder.
Loki looked even worse, than when he had last seen him.
Running the last steps towards them, he gestured to the door near them, leading into the small storage room that served as front for the bunker.
Manuel had already opened the way for them.
Directly behind the opening was a narrow staircase, leading further down.
For the descent the super powered teenager carried the god bridal style, followed by his mother.
Every inch of exposed skin was coloured some variation of red, black, blue or yellow from bruises lacerations or gashes.
Dried blood clung to his skin in rivulets of crimson.
Fortunately, none of the wounds was actively bleeding.
The metal thread in his lips had been removed, but not after it had torn through his lips in several places. A golden glow held them together, which was probably some kind of healing spell.
When he got to the bottom of the stairs, he quickly but carefully, made his way over to the large, cushioned sleeping place encased in the wall to the right, at the opposite end of the room.
“I hate to leave him like this.” The god’s mother spoke up, “But I have to get back to Asgard, before my husband notices my absence.”
Her gaze spoke of the pain she felt at the prospect of leaving her boy alone like this.
Before the hero could answer she pulled out, what looked like some sort of fancy bowl or plate and placed it on the desk, next to the bed her son lay in.
“This will allow me to send you some healing elixirs, you will surely need. Never place anything in it, not even water to wash it. My boy can explain the rest to you once he awakes.”
And without another word she disappeared, the same way she had the first time.
Several moments went by in which Peter didn’t know what to do.
The unconscious form of the man on the bed looked almost dead, were it not for the irregular raise and fall of his chest.
He had forgotten to ask about the age comment she had made earlier.
Not that it mattered…
With a shake of his head, he turned towards the small bathroom, on the diagonally opposite side from the one the bed was in.
Soon he found several towels as well as a bowl of water, before covering the couch, in front of the bed with some of the towels and moving the thin, pale body onto it to start carefully washing the dried blood away.
Only where he could reach of course, but the sole fabric covering the god’s thin form, was a pair of shorts, so he got almost everything.
He worked in silence, grateful that Manuel kept quiet.
The whole day, he had been in strange moods and he didn’t want to have a shouting match with such a new AI, which would probably be the outcome of any comment right now.
After what felt like an endless but short while, he had washed away everything he could, leaving his guest looking only marginally better; but much more peaceful than before.
As expected, all clothes he had at brought from the others’ room were either too short or too wide.
Right now, too wide was a much better option, so he looked for the softest hoody he could find to slip over the ravenette’s torso.
When he had placed him back on the bed and covered him with a thin, but soft blanket; the teen put away the supplies he had used and sat down on the couch.
And again... he was at a loss for what to do.
Looking around the room, he cringed a bit at how unsymmetrical everything was. (visual)
The couch he sat on stood in front of a large shelf along one side, the shorter side of the L shape was against a wall.
In front of the longer side was as a sort of wall standing into the room, another shelf, this one made up of hexagonal shapes with a TV fastened onto it.
He had taken it from Bruce’s room, where it was meant as a reference to chemical structures, while in Loki’s it was more to hint on honeycombs.
Next to the shelf, in the corner between sofa and TV, was a seat made out of fabric hanging from the ceiling, looking almost like a hammock folded in half; held open by a wooden bar on the top.
Behind the honeycomb shelf was a closet, the door to the bathroom and another nook with two beds in it this time. They weren’t as big as the one Loki lay in right now and were positioned above one another.
The lower bed was open towards a narrow pathway on it’s left, where a small bedside table occupied the far back corner, while the upper bed could only be reached from the front and a small opening at the turn of the stairs; situated in the middle of the far wall from the couch.
Encircled by the stairs on two sides and the writing desk towards another, was the kitchen crowded into the wall.
On the desk was only the basic drawing supplies. And the bowl the goddess had left behind.
Curious, he made his way over to it. He was sure as hell not gonna leave the room until Loki woke up, might as well spend the time inspecting something, even though it probably wouldn’t tell him anything.
Hundreds of small ambers of varying colour made up the bowl like a mosaic, held together by gold, molten to perfectly encase the individual pieces which seemed to have been carved by hand.
Other than that, it didn’t look magical, but then again... He glanced over to the form on the bed and sighed.
The god didn’t look magical either. More like a porcelain doll, left in the care of an overly artistic toddler with red and blue crayons.
Just as he put down the bowl, the litte service robot came zooming back into the room; His wheels humming, eager to be of use.
Somehow the sound reminded Peter of bees, the diligence he had portrayed today furthered this imagery, so he send a text to Ned, asking if he could name the robot bumblebee and paint him accordingly.
After that he run out of ideas what to do.
Deciding to read a book, while he waited for his guest to wake up, he steeled down with a copy of Sherlock Holms.
At least there, everything worked out perfectly by the end of the stories.

MASTERLIST
< previous chapter
Word Count: 3,120ish
Summary: Y/N’s return to SHIELD is not what she wanted it to be.
The “new” SHIELD’s border members, Gonzalez, Oliver, and Weaver were in the room, along with Bobbi and May. There was little time for chitchat, the meeting began right away. Y/N and Coulson started with the news footage, playing on stations around the world.
“Cards on the table,” Coulson said, throwing an access lanyard for the helicarrier onto the table.
“Obviously, you and Fury have been keeping busy,” Gonzalez commented.
“What can I say? I’m a company man. With the fall of SHIELD, Fury felt we needed a failsafe. Something completely off the books, a break in case of emergency type of thing.”
“Seems like you broke it wide open,” Weaver replied.
“And saved the day in the process,” Bobbi added. Y/N immediately noticed the look Weaver and Oliver shot Bobbi.
“Excuse me, but you weren’t there,” Y/N said, anger lacing her words. “If it weren’t for the helicarrier, hundreds of thousands of people would be dead. Breaking it wide open was the only option.
“What Agent Rogers is trying to say is that, what’s transpired over the last week is a lot to take in,” Coulson said. “We know. When I found out that this ship had survived HYDRA’s attack, and still had that classified cargo on board, that you placed spies on my base, that I couldn’t keep my own people safe…I felt like I’d failed as director. And the truth is, I did.” He laughed a bit, looking down. “A coup will make you think about things like that. I tried to do it all alone. That was a mistake. Even Fury had a world council watching over him, providing guidance.”
“What are you suggesting?” Gonzalez asked.
“One SHIELD, where I operate as director under your advisement.” Gonzalez shared a look with Bobbi, Weaver, and Oliver. “This way, we’ll have a cool underground base and a boat.”
“It’s hard to argue with a man who helped prevent Ultron from killing thousands of people. But there are plenty more battles to be won and one closer to home that I fear the helicarrier won’t solve.”
~~~
After the meeting, Y/N escaped to the medical wing for some medication for her leg. May had followed her there.
“You okay?” May asked, folding her arms as she watched Y/N.
“I’ll live,” Y/N responded with a wince.
“Fury make you come here?”
“What do you think? He couldn’t stand the thought of Phil getting pushed out of the director’s seat. You still mad he kept Theta Protocol a secret?”
“I won’t be forgiving him that easily.”
“He did help save thousands of people.”
“So did you.” May silently observed Y/N as she rewrapped her injured leg. “Does Stark know you’re here?”
“I couldn’t disappear after a world ending fight without telling him.”
“Hmm,” May hummed with a nod. “Something’s different,” May thought. “Something happened.”
“Aren’t you intuitive,” Y/N laughed out loud.
“What?”
“You noticed something is different.”
“How did you—“
“What’s different is that I can now read minds.”
“What?” Coulson questioned from the door way.
“The Mind Stone in Loki’s scepter. I can also control minds. Came in handy when Steve and Tony started at each others throats.”
“And you didn’t think to tell me sooner?” Coulson stepped forward.
“Um… no. I did only get these abilities a few days ago and I was asked to come here, unwillingly, and was forced straight into a meeting. Sorry I was too busy saving the world and helping that group of people understand why we hid Theta Protocol.” Y/N groaned as she stood back on her feet. “You know what, I am done helping all of you. Don’t come in attacking me like that, when you don’t know what kind of hell I’ve been through this week. I’ve already gotten all this from my brother, I sure as hell won’t take it from you!”
“Y/N, I didn’t mean to—“
“I’ll be on the base, packing my things and saying my good byes to the team. I’m done being questioned for everything that happens.”
“Come on, Y/N,” May said, stepping closer as a portal formed behind Y/N. “He didn’t—”
“I don’t care.”
Y/N rushed through the portal, closing it before Coulson and May had a chance to do or say anything else. She looked around, letting out a sigh of relief when she realized she was in her bunker on the base. Leaving the room, she wasn’t surprised to find her teammates in the lab.
“Guys,” Y/N called softly.
Skye and Fitz-Simmons turned there attentions from what they were focused on to Y/N at the doorway. Her eyes quickly filled with tears.
“What happened?” Fitz rushed up to her. “Are you okay?”
All Y/N could do was shake her head as the sobs began. Fitz quickly brought her in for a hug. Simmons and Skye rubbed her back as Fitz tried to calm her. When they calmed her down, they helped her into a chair and then she told them about her new powers, the events of Sokovia, and what had happened on Gonzalez’ ship.
“I know it probably sounds like I’m over reacting,” she said. “But I’m so tired…. So tired of fighting and people questioning me…. Just so tired.”
“Understandably so,” Simmons said, rubbing Y/N’s leg.
“So that’s why I’m… I’ve decided to take a step away from the team.”
“What?!” They all exclaimed.
“You can’t do that,” Skye said, clearly hurt. “What if I need you?”
“Oh, Skye,” Y/N cooed, grabbing her hand. “You will always be welcomed at the Tower and I will always be a phone call away. I just… I need some time for myself. I really haven’t had any since I was found. I’ve always kept myself busy with missions and taking care of people. And… I need a break.”
Suddenly, Skye’s phone began ringing. She sighed upon seeing it was Coulson before answering it. He told her of the classified cargo in Gonzalez’ ship. A rectangular shaped stone with carvings on it, in a large glass box. It frequently turns into liquid, sloshing around a few times, before turning back into a stone. Coulson asked if Skye, Y/N, or Lincoln knew why Gordon and Raina would be after it.
“I have no idea,” Skye stated. Coulson and May showed up at the base about an hour after his call, pulling Y/N and Skye into Coulson’s office. “Seriously, Y/N and I have never heard of anything like that before and neither has Lincoln.”
“And you believe him?” Coulson asked.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“You barely know him.”
“I know enough. He and Jiaying helped me. They never tried to hurt me—“
“Though they did try to hurt me,” Y/N muttered.
“—Th-they taught me to channel my power so I wasn’t hurting myself. These are good people, Coulson.”
“Are they? People, I mean.”
“What?” Y/N questioned.
“I mean, look Skye, I know you feel connected to this group, but you won’t tell us much about them, you’re keeping to yourself—“
“I’ve been taking care of Lincoln,” she argued.
“Okay, but from our perspective, we don’t even know what to call them.”
“Inhumans. Our ancient ancestors called themselves Inhumans, and we just want to be left alone.”
“We?”
"If they want to be left alone, then why infiltrate a military vessel?” May asked.
“You’re assuming that this thing is a weapon. Well, it’s in SHIELD’s possession. Maybe they’re just afraid of it – afraid of what Gonzalez might do with it.”
“We’re not the enemy here,” Coulson stated, standing up from his desk.
“This man teleported onboard, Skye,” May defended. “He’s clearly very dangerous.”
“I portaled my way onto the ship as well,” Y/N said. “And have other abilities now too. You going to lock me up and question me? And you can be just as dangerous May.”
“I heard about what happened to that little girl in Bahrain,” Skye stated. “Jiaying told me the whole story. Did you know that she was Inhuman?” May looked at Skye, clearly shocked, as both Coulson and Y/N looked between the two women. “They both were. So you, of all people, should understand why they’d want to keep their location a secret…what they’re so afraid of.”
~~~
It was the morning and Y/N hadn’t gotten the courage to leave just yet. She was walking towards the lab when she saw Gonzalez and his crew. Lookin into Gonzalez’ mind, she learned that him and his crew were headed to Coulson’s office and that they had found the location of Afterlife. She portaled herself in Coulson’s office.
“Y/N, I’m about to have a meeting,” Coulson started, “is there something I can help you with?”
“Well, I’m still the assistant director, aren’t I?” She responded. “I should be in the meeting as well.”
“I don’t know—“
“Rogers, Coulson, May,” Gonzalez greeted upon entering, his crew behind him. “Am I interrupting something?”
“Not at all,” Coulson quickly replied. “Agent Rogers was just leaving.”
Throwing a glare at Coulson, Y/N looked at May for some help. She didn’t give any. With one more look at Coulson, she noticed him subtly pointing to his head.
“Leave and portal into the secret stairwell behind the monitor,” Coulson instructed. “You’ll be able to listen in from there.”
She quickly did as she was told. Gonzalez and his crew explained that they had found the location and put the map up on the large wall monitor.
“What’s our plan of attack?” Gonzalez asked.
“Who said anything about an attack?” Coulson fired back.
“These people are a threat.”
“We don’t know that,” Bobbi retorted.
“We don’t know anything about them.”
“They could teleport into this room right now and leave a bomb behind,” Oliver said.
“We’ve seen what Skye is capable of. Lincoln could short out our entire system,” Weaver stated. “And then there’s Y/N, who can now also teleport into places.”
“I understand your concerns, but the last thing we need is to start a war,” Coulson said. “We just finished one for God’s sake.”
“Action needs to be taken, Phil,” Gonzalez argued.
“Which is why I’m proposing a sit down with their leader, this woman Jiaying. We’ll call it a fact finding mission.”
“They’d need to agree to that first,” Weaver said.
“We could use Skye is a liaison,” Bobbi suggested. “She is a SHIELD agent.”
“Is that still true?” Gonzalez wondered.
“Of course it is,” Coulson replied.
“Now’s a good time to find out where Skye really stands,” May added, seemingly doubting Skye’s loyalties.”
~~~
Y/N made sure she was walking down the hallway with Skye when Coulson told her they were going to the Afterlife.
“No, you cannot go there,” Skye said. “Listen, secrecy is what they value most.”
“We can’t ignore their existence,” Coulson reasoned. “They’re not ignoring ours.”
“Please!” Skye hurried to stand in from of Coulson, stopping him from walking.
“Look, at the very least, we need to find out how many people we’re dealing with, assess their powers, place them on The Index. You know how this works. You’re a SHIELD agent.”
Skye took a second before answering. “I-I don’t know what I am anymore.” Coulson seemed taken back by this. “Okay, just…let Lincoln and I go first. They’re probably worried about us. Y/N can take us. I’ll talk to Jiaying, explain why you’re coming, that you just want to help. She’ll listen.”
“How can you be sure?”
“Because she’s my mother.”
~~~
“I’m leaving after this,” Y/N said. It was just her and Coulson headed towards the lab. “I need a break.”
“No,” he answered.
“No? I’m sorry, what?”
“I can’t let you leave… I can’t lose you.”
“As in your agent or your friend?”
“Both.”
“Too bad. It’s time for me to slow down, figure some things out. Like you’ve suggested a few times.” Coulson sighed. “My heads falling out of the game, Phil. I need to leave it before it costs someone there life.”
“I understand. I’ll just…. I’ll miss you.”
“I’ll miss you too.” The two entered the lab.
“Time to go,” Coulson said.
Fitz-Simmons, Skye, and Lincoln turned to look at them. Skye closed her bag, zipping it, before sharing one last look with Fitz-Simmons and walking towards Coulson and Y/N. They exit the lab, Coulson and Y/N leading with Skye and Lincoln following, side by side.
“How’d it go?” Skye asked Lincoln.
“The Indexing?” Lincoln clarified. “They just asked a lot of questions. But I’m sure you guys already have my blood from when I was out, right?”
“It’s protocol,” Coulson reasoned.
“HYDRA said the same thing.”
They stopped walking. Coulson turned to face Lincoln.
“I know you’ve been through a lot, but you can trust us,” Coulson said. “You’ll see.” Lincoln just stared, saying nothing, so Coulson turned to Y/N. “You ready?”
“Always,” she replied with a nod.
“Okay.” Coulson looked between Y/N and Skye. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay,” Skye replied.
“Okay.”
~~~
Y/N put them in the courtyard of Afterlife. Luckily, Jiaying was there. She immediately went up and hugged Skye.
“Are you alright?” Jiaying asked.
“Yeah,” Skye responded.
Jiaying looked at Lincoln. “What happened?”
“A lot,” Lincoln answered. “But I’m okay.”
“A doctor at SHIELD patched him up,” Skye said.
“SHIELD?” Jiaying repeated.
“We need to talk.”
“Go to the recovery room,” Jiaying instructed Lincoln. “Have one of ours take a look at you.” He nodded and walked away. “Come. Tell me everything.”
Jiaying lead Skye away. Skye casted a look over her shoulder to Y/N, who nods in okay. As the two women leave further, Y/N notices Gordon and Raina near by, looking grim. Curious, Y/N peeked into Raina’s mind.
“SHIELD is coming,” Raina thought to herself. “This is my chance to be the hero.”
With that, Y/N quickly left back to the base. She put herself outside of Coulson’s office, where himself, May, Bobbi, Gonzalez, Weaver, and Oliver were in a meeting. Coulson was briefing them.
“Agent Weaver, you’ll be with me on QJ36,” Coulson said. “We’ll land a good distance from their main buildings here.” He pointed to the map on the monitor. "Now, I’ll go in first, alone, unarmed.”
“You shouldn’t be the one going in,” Gonzalez stated.
“Care to elaborate?”
“You’re too close to this. Skye’s like a daughter to you and her mother is these people’s leader.”
“I’m banking on that personal connection to everyone through this safely.”
“You shouldn’t be. This is one of the greatest threats SHIELD’s ever faced.”
“I agree,” Weaver added. “A whole race of people with powers…”
“And you’ve proven time and again that you’re not objective when it comes to Skye.”
“That’s you opinion, not fact,” Bobbi retorted.
“Want to talk facts? Ultron was created because people were too close to Tony Stark. They were blinded by his charm. They trusted him. Never even thought to look at what he was working on. And The Avengers, they let one man do whatever he wanted, and the world was almost destroyed for it. We’re SHIELD We’re better than that. Or at least we should be.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Y/N growled, stepping into the office. Everyone’s head snapped towards her. “You weren’t there. We weren’t blinding by his charm. He didn’t tell us what he was working on because he thought he was protecting us. And Tony wasn’t alone, Dr. Banner was working on it with him as well. They thought they were creating something that would allow the Avengers and SHIELD to go home. To have families. For the fight to end.”
“You aren’t suppose to be here, Agent Rogers.”
“I can be anywhere. Have you forgotten that?”
“No, I haven’t. That is why I need to meet with these people. Coulson is not objective when it comes to you or Skye.”
“No one is objective when it comes to those on their team! At least if they’re an actual team.”
Gonzalez stood up from his chair, going toe-to-toe with Y/N. “Agent Rogers, it’s time for you to leave.”
“Make me.” Guns cocked around the room, all aiming at Y/N.
“Woah!” Bobbi called. “Oliver and Weaver, what are you doing?”
“She’s dangerous,” Oliver stated. “Even without powers, she’s dangerous.”
“Y/N, stand down,” Coulson said. “Y/N… please…”
Y/N peeked into Gonzalez’ mind. “All you want it war. And from the looks of it, you might get it. But I’m not going to be here when it happens. If SHIELD involves you, I don’t want any part of it.”
“Y/N—“
“No, Coulson, I’m done. Tell the team I’m sorry that I didn’t say a final goodbye.”
~~~
Tony was in his lab, getting the final plans ready for the new Avengers Facility he was going to build in upstate New York. The construction was going to start tomorrow, and they were to work all day and night until it was finished. Tony had decided that the team needed more space and privacy to train.
“Boss,” FRIDAY called, “Y/N Rogers has returned to the Tower.”
“Already?” Tony questioned. “It must have gone well. Where is she?”
“The training room. She’s already going at it will a punching bag.”
“Okay then,” Tony stood up and headed out of the room, “it clearly did not go well.”
Tony hurried down to the training rooms. He heard your punches before he even opened the door. As Tony drew near, he could see the tears rolling down your cheeks.
“Honey?” He carefully called, only to get no response. “I’m going to assume that the meeting didn’t go well.”
“It… wasn’t… the meeting…” Y/N said, in between punches. “It was… everything… else…”
Tony silently watched for a moment before completely going to Y/N’s side and grabbing her arm. “Okay, okay. I think it’s time for you to either talk about it or go to bed.”
“Fine,” she sighed.
Tony quietly led Y/N to their room. He guided her to sit on their bed before helping her unwrap her hands.
“I quit,” she whispered. “I’m done… I need a break.”
“How did Coulson take it?”
“Not very well.”
“And Skye?”
“Since there’s been no major earthquakes, then I think okay.”
“Well,” he pulled her hands up, placing kissed on them, “I think that was smart. I’ve been… I’ve been thinking about retirement too. No missions, just paying and designing everything.”
“Do you think we’ll be able to do it? To slow down?”
“I think that, together, we’ll be able to do anything.”

Beautiful Boy, Bathed in Disaster
As he laid dying in a Siberian bunker Tony Stark thinks about betrayals and broken promises. Left behind and half-dead he is faced with his worst nightmare.
Notes: This was literally written in hours, which is insane because usually I take forever to finish even a one shot. But this just flowed! The title comes from the song "In Loving Memory" by Chester Lockhart which played in repeat while I wrote this. I recommend you listen to it as you read it as well lol
There is a slight canon divergence as in my story, Pepper and Tony broke up after Iron Man 3 and Tony and Steve get together a little after Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Borrowed some quotes from other Avengers works, such as comics and AA
AO3 Link
"Mr. Stark."
"Captain."
-
"Is everything a joke to you?"
"Funny things are."
-
"Big man in a suit of armor... take that off, what are you?"
"Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist."
"I know guys with none of that worth ten of you. I've seen the footage, the only thing you really fight for is yourself. You are not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you."
"I think I would just cut the wire."
"Always a way out. You know, you may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero."
"A hero? Like you? You're a laboratory experiment Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle."
-
"What the hell! What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me."
"We won."
"Oh, alright, yay! Alright, good job guys! Uh, let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. You ever try shawarma? There is a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it."
"We are not finished yet."
"And then shawarma after?"
-
"Oh really you two knew each other? He never mentioned that...maybe only a thousand times. God, I hated you."
-
"Sometimes I wanna punch you in your perfect teeth, but I don't want to see you gone. We need you Cap."
-
"Winghead"
"Shellhead"
-
"You are walking a little funny Steve, next time you should establish a safe word." . . . "You are walking a little funny Tony, what was that you were saying about a safe word?"
"Hilarious."
-
"Wait a second, no one else gonna deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language'?"
"I know...It just slipped out."
-
"We'll lose."
"Then we'll do that together too."
-
"Sometimes my teammates don't tell me things."
-
"I don't trust a guy without a dark side. Call me old fashioned."
"Well let's just say you haven't seen it yet."
-
"How can you possibly hope to stop me?"
"Well, like the old man said: together."
-
"No way we all make it through this."
"I got no plans tomorrow night."
-
"I will miss you Tony"
-
"Tony, when I woke up on this era, I had no one. Nothing. You gave me a purpose, somewhere to belong...You gave me a home."
-
"You wanna survive you gotta change with the times."
"Spend a few decades frozen in ice, then we can talk about survival."
"Just say it, say 'Tony I'm afraid of new tech!' admitting you have a problem is always the first step."
"Gosh Mr. Big Brain, your modern tech is so gol-darn confusing. How does this contraption turn water into coffee? Is it coal power or is it a miracle?"
"Hmm, sarcasm must be a modern invention, because when you do it, it just sounds wrong."
-
"But, with my armor gone, all I can do is improvise. Steve, even without your shield, you're still captain America. Without my armor I'm just ..."
"Tony Stark, THE Tony Stark, billionaire, genius, you are probably one of the three smartest men in the entire world. You are as tough as they come, you invented hardcore. The avengers are lucky you are on our side."
"Really? you know two people smarter than me?"
"Can't you just take a compliment."
-
"I am not half as good at - at anything as I am when I'm doing it next to you. And that's the truth."
-
"I love you."
"I love you too."
-
"Good morning Beloved. Did anyone check the dumpster for Clint yet?"
"Funny you should ask that..."
-
"I love you."
"I love you too."
-
"I'm worried about you, if you don't get some sleep..."
"I slept for 70 years - "
"Yeah, you've used that line before."
"Leave me alone. I am a senior citizen."
-
"I love you."
"I love you too."
-
"He's my friend."
"So was I."
-
"Did you know?"
"I wasn't sure it was him--"
"Don't bullshit me Rogers! Did. You. Know?"
"Yes."
-
Images and memories flashed through Tony's mind as he laid on the cold floor of the abandoned Hydra base. The Siberian cold penetrating his suit as his mind raced.
Steve had known the truth about his parents' death for years. He'd known when they fought Ultron. He'd known when he gave Tony shit about keeping secrets, the fucking hypocrite. He'd known over a year ago, he'd known when he leaned over the table to kiss Tony. He'd known when they tumbled into bed that same night. He'd known for the rest of their relationship, even when he whispered "I love you" late at night and when Tony had said it right back.
He'd known.
And now all Tony was left with was a broken suit and an abandoned shield.
Tears fell out of his eyes as he fell back to the floor. Steve had left. He'd taken Barnes and walked right out, without sparing a second thought for Tony. After he and Pepper had broken up Tony had resigned himself to being alone for the rest of his life. Then Steve had kissed him and all of the sudden Tony had been in love again. They'd still fought but Tony had learned to see Steve's side of things and to explain his side of things to Steve. Tony had been sure that this was it. He'd fallen hard and fast for Steve.
"Well that shows you, huh Stark."
-----
Some time later, Tony's eyes startled open as he realized that he had no way out of that bunker.
-----
The temperature kept dropping, and Tony had long given up hope of a rescue.
"Well Yinsen, it looks like I did waste my life after all... I'm sorry."
Tony closed his eyes.
-----
When Tony came to again, everything was still cold and painful. He tried to move, but the suit was frozen and still dead, quiet honestly, Tony didn't know how he was still alive.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the bunker, and Tony blinked trying to place the sound. Had FRIDAY alerted Vision?
A few minutes later two slender figures walked towards him.
"Father," he didn't recognize the breathy feminine voice that rang out, "We've found him. We've got Stark."
"He looks half dead. Should we put him out of his misery?" Another woman said, her voice a lot more confident. The two figures walked closer, and Tony struggle to keep his eyes open. There was no way he could defend himself.
"Patience daughter, I have plans for Stark." A deep voice responded. The two women walked into the sliver of light that managed to get into his cold dark tomb. He finally laid eyes on them and his breathing grew harsher. The two women were not...human. They were humanoid, but one of them was blue, and her body was littered with mechanic enhancements, the other was completely green with deep burgundy hair. The two of them exuded murderous vibes. The kind that Tony usually only got from Natasha and Pepper. He drew in a harsh breath and tried once more to get up from the cold floor he'd been planing to die in.
"Such fighting spirit. It's a pity that humanity does not appreciate you Anthony Stark." An imposing figure approached from the shadows. He was huge, probably bigger than the hulk himself. "I have waited a long time to meet you Stark."
"Yo...u..... kno...w....m...e?" he managed to croak out.
"I do, you are not the only one cursed with knowledge."
"..w- wh..who...?" Tony could barely keep conscious. He was still on the verge of death, and aliens invading earth was literally his worst nightmare. A new voice rang out and a squid looking figure joined the others.
"Rejoice, you will have the privilege of being saved by The Great Titan, Thanos."
"Wh...wh.." Tony gasped for breath, "...why...?"
"I have come for you Stark. Earth's Greatest Defender. When I first enslaved the Asgardian, I thought his task a simple one. After all this planet is quite primitive compared to others we've conquered before. Yet, you and your team managed to defeat my army." The titan walked closer to him, "Imagine my surprise at realizing that it hadn't been your Asgardian ally who'd laid waste to my ships and army, but a simple human. Fascinating. After that it was difficult not to pay attention. Time and time again, you defend it, and this is your reward" The titan waved a hand towards the pathetic picture Tony painted.
"G..go..f..fuh..Fuck...yo...yours...self." Thanos smiled and waved a hand to those behind him.
"Give him a blood transfusion, The Accuser should have provided enough, and make sure he survives. Once he's no longer on the brink of death, bring him to me."
---------------------
Tony had passed out after his encounter with Thanos and when he'd woken up he was being moved. The pain had dulled down, most likely a result of the forced blood transfusion. He'd shuddered as he thought about it. Once more a victim of nonconsensual body modifications.
This nightmare just kept getting worse.
He was laid on a hard surface and bound. The genius took a moment to analyze his current situation, he seemed to be in some sort of medical room, there were holograms displaying what he assumed to be his own vitals. The technology seemed advanced and otherworldly so he took this to mean that he'd somehow made it into the ship. What was this Thanos actually doing here? Where they still on Earth? Was Earth under attack?
That final thought made him pull at his restrains, he immediately slumped back in the bed his body still felt like he'd been run over by a bus.
'or two super-soldiers'
Tony closed his eyes as the entire fight replayed in his mind. God he'd been so fucking stupid. And now here he was trapped by some crazy alien bent on conquering earth. Who would protect Earth now? Rogers and Barnes were definitely on the wind now. About half of the team were sitting in Ross's super secret prison. He hoped Vision runs and hides that damn stone. God knows were Natasha was hiding.
And Rhodey. Rhodey was in no condition to fight.
The door to the room he was currently trapped in opened and in walked the mad titan himself, accompanied by his two daughters? Who looked nothing like him.
"Stark, you are awake."
"Where am I? What do you want? You better stay away from Earth or I swe-"
"Don't worry, the time will come but there is much to do before I return for Earth's salvation." Tony's jaw clenched as he watched the purple maniac approach him. "Like I said, I am here for you Stark."
"What do you want from me? From the looks of this ship, you have no need for my tech much less my money, so what do you want? Weapons? I'll die before I ever create another weapon of mass destruction!" The titan simply smiled and sat beside him. His two deadly looking daughters stood guard by the door.
"I am here to offer you a place in my order, as my son and perhaps my heir." Tony stared incredulously and glanced at the other two in the room and saw their shocked expressions. So he hadn't shared his plans for Tony with them.
"Excuse me?!"
"I admire your bravery and tenacity Anthony, you would do well in my order and when I have achieved perfect balance in this entire universe I wish to retire, but I must leave someone in charge. I think you would do well."
"You are out of your mind." the brunette gritted out.
"You could help me save this entire universe from itself, and then you would be the most powerful man in the universe. Join us Stark"
"Never. I can't believe you thought that I'd say yes to this."
"You and I are quite similar you know. I too was called mad for trying to protect my planet. I tried to save my planet and our people, I was ignored, and the entire planet perished. Are you not tired Anthony? Of trying to save a planet that doesn't want to be saved?" The ache in Tony's chest grew and he continued to glare at Thanos.
"Never." Thanos let out a disappointed sigh and got back on his feet.
"I had hoped you would see reason," he walked towards the medical equipment in the room, "perhaps a little reminder of what Earth has repaid your loyalty with will help."
Tony couldn't help his scream at the pain his head was under. As he trashed he thought he saw pitying looks come from the two women by the door.
Everything went dark.

"Yes."
