captain america civil war is on netflix, my tummy hurts and it’s my day off so time to watch it for the first time since I saw it in theatres (I hated it that much tbh, still have only seen age of ultron once)

i like how they custom made a fancy red leather star notebook for the winter soldier’s operational codes

honestly this movie is such a mess. zemo’s plot, the whole winter soldier(s). this should have been an avengers movie(it basically is with a cap subplot) because literally NO ONE’s motivations are clear which makes it way too hard to empathize with either side. 

i wonder if you calculated all the minutes of different people’s screentime what it would be

smh i can’t believe tony fans think it’s reasonable to get mad about steve fans acting pissy about civil war when steve was basically demoted to second lead in his own film. obvs there are some unreasonable steve/bucky peeps out there but the amount of whining tony fans do is kind of ridiculous when tony has literally such an intricately written emotional arc and steve and bucky both have diddly, as I have said before IN THEIR OWN FILM. (bucky is going to be cap one day might i remind y’all)

i really don’t hate tony he literally dominates every film he’s in so this shoudl have been an avengers or iron man film to write such an intense storyline for him. 

they literally don’t let cap emote at all. like if you look at clips of the film its just blue steel all the way--he never gets a chance to break down and be upset. not like tony does.

tony fans need to imagine if steve came into an im4 film and just became the sole focus of the film, how they would feel that their fave character’s film was usurped. 

anyways---in conclusion i still hate this movie. unlike the first two cap movies I can’t separate my critical aspect from it enough to love or even like the film. alas.

Ok, let me unpack this.

3) Everybody likes attention, though, now that you mention it, Tony is of the kind that needs to draw attention to himself all the time. In any case, I wasn’t looking for attention from anyone but my followers and other antis, as the tagging of my post shows. You know, people talk about stuff they think alike about, it’s a normal thing.

4) Too iconic for his own good... And you are the one accusing me of committing fallacies? Really? Tony is an omnipresent character of a famous franchise. He doesn’t need to be “iconic” for people to discuss his annoying behavior.

5) If anyone in my family had “teased” me that way, I would have told them to buy themselves a forest and get lost in it, but then, I wasn’t told growing up to shut up because the adults were talking, nor that I had to stand complete strangers make fun of the things I do. I was taught to defend my positions with arguments, and that at home I would be respected and listened to as much as I respected and listened to others in it. Accordingly, I don’t “tease” people that are in a vulnerable position to me, be them my students, or people I barely know or both. That kind of “teasing” is only acceptable when the person on the receiving end is in the position of getting back at one, otherwise, is an abusive and coward action.

6) That said, the policing attitude is specially funny. I do with my free time whatever I want as long as I don’t hurt others. I made my post, I tagged it correctly, I don’t interact with pro Tony original posts... The one that came looking for anti posts and decided to interact was you. If I am pathetic, then you more, because you are a step ahead of me.

7) Your reply is still not an argument. You are calling me illogical, but you aren’t showing where the fallacy of my reasoning (if there is one) lies. Gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. Maybe you are implying that it is self evident? The only things self evident and non-demostrable are the first principles of reasoning and being, which are the ones we use in first place to reason. Propositions about Tony and Peter’s relationship doesn’t seem to fit that description.

8) We can agree that Tony’s behavior isn’t uncommon. That’s probably the saddest part of it. I could write several posts about everything that is wrong with that relationship and that, if Tony were a teacher or a mentor, would have gotten him kicked out of any serious school (and make him be hated by the students.)

PS: If you read the description of my blog, you’d see that one of my faves is Hawkeye, a guy who has good mentoring relationships with Wanda and Natasha. I wouldn’t let a kid near Loki or Stephen, really, so, I’m happy neither of them have that kind of relationship with others. In the end, though, I like my faves for who they are and not for the people they have relationships with or that admire them, which seems to be a pretty common preoccupation of at least a huge part of the Tony stans, given that any new character that appears must be tied to Tony in some way and express their admiration and undying fidelity to him.

You cannot make fun of a kid’s hard work and then expect him to think it amounts to something.
