Tony Stark's Space Roadtrip?
Tony Starkâs Space Roadtrip or, as I've described it before: What If? 2.4 grabbed me by the throat and I wanted what happens next. The thing right now is that what happens next involves travelling with Gamora, and I'm not the most familiar with the Guardians characters, so I'd need to go back and rewatch some of her scenes from the first movie to get her voice and approximate where she is in her arc. Nebula too, since I'm having them pick her up after they take out Thanos, which is going to be a fun reunion for her and Gamora.
Then of course, this intersects with my Marvels feels, since we got more about why Carol didn't come back to Earth, and of course Carol's going to be the space hero to rescue them, so we get to do some fun catch-up on 'last time on Earth', and also 'if you're in love with your best friend who's in the air force and I'm in love with my best friend who's in the air force then who's flying the plane'
He frowns. âWhen were you last on Earth?â âI wasn't... I'm not really sure. 1995?â âOh wow. Okay. So important updates. You can now fuck your Maria legally in any state in the US, and you can marry her in a number of them, working on all of them. The Internet? Not just a fad. What elseâŠ:â âHang on go back. I could marry Maria? Legally? But she'd have to leave the Air Force, right? I remember that.â âNope, got rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell last year. Wait," Tony does some quick math on his fingers. "How old are you?â âNot sure - what year is it on Earth?â â2012.â âHuh. I think I remember, but I'm not sure. I might be⊠almost 47? The Kree stuff... It seems to make me age slower.â âWell, congrats, looking good for nearly 47. Damn. When you were last on earth I was... Probably drunk, actually.â
send me an ask about any of my wips!

So there's an IronHeart book where Tony is 126 and the Sorcerer Supreme. He's got the Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamoto. And all the Avengers kids' kids or whatever are running around and apparently Riri married a Black Panther one day. Idk if it's T'Challa or not because in current day, Riri is a teen. But they long since been defeated Thanos.
But no matter what anyone says. No matter what the book says. No one will EVER convince me that anyone other than Stephen taught Tony the mystic arts. And not just because I 100% ship IronStrange. It's because we all know that the Cloak is picky and stubborn. It ain't gonna leave Stephen just for anybody. The only person it would deem worthy would be someone taught by Stephen. And we know it likes Tony at least a little cause when Pete goes "if you think about it it's technically your fault-" the Cloak looks at him like 'Oh! No, you didn't! Shit bout to go down!'

A/n: this is loosely based on the song teeth by 5sos, enemies to lovers, this is set in the middle of age of ultron, lots of this has the original script all credit goes to marvel. I'm not killing Pietro or how would they become a couple.
Warnings: explicit language, fight scenes, slight hints of abuse, father degrading child
Y/n = your name
Y/n/n= your nickname
Y/l/n = your last name
Ultron had just bust through the side of the tower. We all ducked out of the way, I pulled Maria with me out of the way of the glass. I put up a wall of ice to block off the remaining glass. One of the robots ultron brought broke through the ice and through me across the room. "Y/n are you alright" Maria shouted aiming at one of the robots. "Yeah fine, I was just thrown against a pillar, but I'm doing great, you?" I shouted back now freezing the robot in front of me.
One of the robots knocked Steve's shield away from him, I ran across the room and grabbed it "Cap" I shouted as I jumped off the upper platform while tossing it to him. "Thanks, Y/n/n" he replied while fighting off the bot in front of him. Tony through himself onto one of the boys flying through the air. "Tony, I swear to god if you fall on me, this will be the least of your worries" I shouted dodging his feet. "Really Y/n, you wanna yell at me while we fight off bots" he replied grunting. "Of course I do, I don't need you falling on me and breaking every bone in my godamn body" I replied freezing another one "Hey! Y/n/n you know Steve doesn't like that type of language" he replied getting rid of the bot he was on "Are you guys still on that" Steve shouted across the room
"Yes we are and we are never letting it go" Nat replied destroying the last bot in the room that's not ultron. Ultron then started speaking " That was dramatic! I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve?" he then picked up one of the dismembered Iron Legion bots, "With these? These puppets?" he stopped speaking for a second and crushed the Iron Legion bot's head, "There's only one path to peace: The Avengers' extinction." He finished Thor then through his hammer straight through ultron.
Then ultron's head started singing creepily "I had strings, but now I'm free. There are no strings on me, no strings on me" I bent over and picked up my jacket which had been on the couch before it got destroyed "that's creepy well anyone else need a shower, doesn't matter, I'm going to bed" I sighed walking away
"All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch." Bruce said putting his head in his hands. Nat then started speaking "He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." She said moving to the side . "He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodes said shaking his head. "Like the Nuclear codes." Maria said picking up her drink . "Nuclear codes?!. Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can." Rhodes continued. Nat decided to speak up again "Nukes? He said he wanted us dead-" "He didn't say dead. He said extinct." Steve said cutting her off . Clint then spoke up "He also said he killed somebody." Maria then spoke again "But there wasn't anyone else in the building." Tony pulled up a 3D image of JARVIS' destroyed consciousness "Yes there was." "JARVIS, is the first line of defense, he would have tried to shut down ultron it makes sense" I said finally speaking up
Bruce then pulled his head out of his hands and looked up "No, Ultron could've assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy, this is...rage." Thor then burst through the door and picked Tony up by the neck. Tony looked at Thor "Come on, use your words buddy" "oh I've got more than enough words to describe you, stark" Thor said pushing him further up the wall. "Thor put him down, what do you have on the iron legion" I said moving towards them. Thor then dropped tony, "Trail went cold about a hundred miles out but it's headed north, and it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it, again."
"I don't understand. You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?" Helen Cho spoke up, Tony then started laughing, Bruce started shaking his head at him to get him to stop "You think this is funny?" Thor said looking at tony "No. It's probably not, right? Is this very terrible? Is it so... is it so... it is. It's so terrible." Tony said still laughing,"This could've been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Thor said angrily, "No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this." Tony said turning around to face thor , Bruce then turned to him "Tony, maybe this might not be the time to" he tried to reason with him but was cut off "Really?! That's it? You just roll over, show your belly, every time somebody snarls." Tony said turning to Bruce "Only when I've created a murder bot." He shot back "We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?" Tony said turning around again
Steve then turned back towards them "Well, you did something right. And you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different than SHIELD." Tony then got more upset then before "Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" "No, it's never come up." Rhodes replied "Saved New York?" Tony continues "Never heard that." Rhodes shot back "Recall that? A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing three hundred feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the live long day, but, that up there? That's... that's the end game. How were you guys planning on beating that?" Tony continued "Together" Steve replied "We'll lose." Tony said back "Then we'll do that together, too., Thor's right. Ultron's calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making it smaller."
The next day I was walking with Steve and Maria down the hall. "He's all over the globe. Robotics labs, weapons facilities, jet propulsion labs, reports of a metal man, or men, coming in and emptying the place." Maria stated continuing to walk "facilities?" Steve said turning towards her. "Only when engaged. Mostly guys left in a fugue state going on about old memories, worst fears, and something too fast to see." Maria continued. "Maximoffs. Well, that makes sense he'd go to them, they have someone in common." I said looking up from the ground "not anymore" Maria replied passing is a tablet, there was a photo of Strucker's dead body with the word PEACE written in blood on the wall next to him. We got into the elevator after Maria explained what the Maximoff's can do "you're really so old you had to make her tell you in simpler terms" I said laughing after Maria left. "Wow Y/n/n you're hurting my feelings" he shot back jokingly
We walked out of the elevator towards the team, Steve then passed them the tablet " What's this?" Tony said taking it from him. "A message, Ultron killed Strucker" "And he did a Banksy at the crime scene, just for us." Nat then spoke up "This is a smokescreen. Why send a message when you've just given a speech?" "Strucker knew something that Ultron wanted us to miss." "Yeah, I bet he- Nat said looking at the computer monitor, Yep. Everything we had on Strucker has been erased" "Not everything" I said turning towards the box of files we brought up earlier of Known associates. "Well, Strucker had a lot of friends." "Well, these people are all horrible" "Wait. I know that guy." Tony said causing Bruce to pass him the photo he was looking at, "From back in the day. He operates off the African coast, black market arms." Steve gives him an accusing look, "There are conventions, alright? You meet people, I didn't sell him anything, I swear Tony said "He was talking about finding something new, a game changer, it was all very "Ahab."
Thor grabbed the picture and pointed to something on the guys neck "what's this?" "I think it's a tattoo, I don't think he had" tony started but was quickly cut off "No these are tattoos" Thor said pointing to the guys arm "This is a brand" he continued. Bruce then turned to the screen "Oh, yeah. It's a word in an African dialect meaning thief, in a much less friendly way." "What dialect?" Steve questioned moving around the table. "Wakanada?Wa...Wa...Wakanda." Bruce said moving over. "If this guy got out of with some of their trade goods" " I thought your father said he got the last of it?" "I don't follow. What comes out of Wakanda?" Tony turned towards Steve's shield looking "The strongest metal on earth." "Where is this guy now?" " I think I saw something about a salvage yard a few files ago" I said digging through the stack and passing it to them.
"Well come on let's get a move on" Steve said taking the file. "We will discuss the plan on the jet for now grab your gear" he said walking out. Everyone stayed still for a couple seconds "well you heard the man, move" I said heading to the locker room. Tony had made my suit so that it wouldn't slip on ice and made sure that my shoes had good grips. Anyways I got on my suit and headed to the jet
We landed at the salvage yard and headed inside as we got closer to the wear house we heard ultron talking. "I'm nothing like stark, stark is a- he's a sickness" he then cut off some guys arm. "Awww junior you're breaking your old mans heart" Tony said as he busted through the roof, we all ran up behind him. That's when I saw him, there was a guy and a girl standing behind ultron, we found out their names back at the tower I think they were Pietro and Wanda Maximoff. Wanda looks very pretty yes, but Pietro is extremely good looking. "Y/n/n" I snapped out of your trance when Steve called my name. Pietro was running right at me, fuck I'm gonna die I think as I duck and slide out of the way.
He ran right past me and at Steve, guess he didn't feel like fighting me. Wanda came up and we fought for about 3 minutes before she got the jump on me and I fell to the ground and she came up and flicked her wrist sending me back into my worst nightmare
I'm back on the edge of the building right before my dad comes up and spouts something about how useless I am and how I deserve all he puts me through, and how I'll never be good enough for anyone. He came up and started shouting at me, " Y/n what are you doing up here you should be downstairs preparing we have guests coming over and if they see something wrong they might question, now go change, the bruise forming on your arm is to noticeable" he pulled me off the roof and shoved me to the ground. "They said they have a son maybe if your good enough he'll like you, but I don't know why anyone would like you" I went in my room and changed.
"Y/n, Y/n, snap out of it, come on kid" I looked up to see Clint "yeah Tony, I got her, she's safe, but you won't have any backup the entire team is down" I wrapped my arms around my knees and pulled them closer slightly moving away from Clint. "Y/n, you saw your dad, didn't you" all I could do was nod yes slowly. Clint then pulled me into a hug and helped me stand up. "Y/n/n, we have to snap the rest of the team out of it", "I'll go get Nat, can you grab Thor and Steve" he nodded and then walked toward Steve as I headed towards Nat. "Nat, Nat, come back nat, are you alright?" She slowly came out of it, she looked like she had seen something really awful. "Nat do you want a hug?" I asked quietly, Nat's never been one to accept physical touch but I guess she needed it cause she nodded, I pulled her in for a hug. When we pulled away Nat spoke, "Thanks Y/n/n I needed that"
We all headed to the quinjet. Once we got in we all kinda just sat away from each other trying to process what happened. Bruce sat quietly across the jet, music playing in his headphones, which I can only assume is some classical music. Apparently he destroyed some buildings. I kept my headphones in listening quietly not looking up as the rest of group talked. We were all sitting in the quinjet and then Clint came over to me. I pulled out my headphones so we could talk "Hey we're headed to my house" he said sitting next to me "Yay, I haven't seen them in forever" I said laying my head on his shoulder. "Laura has been calling with the kids they miss you" he said looking over at me
"Okay, I have to go give them directions but we will talk later" he said standing up and kissing my forehead before walking away. I was about to put in my headphones when Steve sat down "How are you?" I said turning towards him "I'm alright, I saw Peggy again" he said a little dazed "I'm sorry Steve" I said facing him "It's alright, was it your dad again?" Steve said turning slightly "Yeah" I said trying to stop the tears "You want a hug?" He said "Yeah" I said as he pulled me in for a hug. "Thank you Steve" I said as we pulled away "It was more for me but you're welcome" he said laughing before standing up and heading back to the group. I put my headphones back in and shut my eyes.
What I can only assume to be an hour or two, I wouldn't know I fell asleep, had passed and we landed outside of the house. Clint came and woke me up before we headed inside. "Honey I'm home!" Clint said walking in with all of us trailing behind, Laura came out from the kitchen. "Hi, company, sorry I didn't call ahead" he said walking towards her "Hi" she said smiling, I heard Tony whisper to Thor "This is an agent of some kind?" Them look back at Clint and Laura "Gentlemen This is Laura" Clint said turning back to the group
Laura looked around before saying "I know all your names" they all just stared at her "Ooh incoming" Clint said as Cooper and Lila ran in the room "Dad!" Lila said as Clint picked her up. "Hi sweetheart" he said to Lila before turning to cooper "Hey buddy!, how are you guys" he said "These are smaller agents?" Tony said "Did you bring Auntie Nat?, Auntie Y/n/n" Lila said "Why don't you hug us and find out" Nat said laughing, then Lila and Cooper ran straight over to us.
"Sorry for barging in on you." Steve said "Yeah, we would have called ahead, but we were busy having no idea that you existed." Tony said sarcastically
"Yeah, well Fury helped me set this up when I joined. He kept it off SHIELD's files, I'd like to keep it that way. I figure it's a good place to lay low." Clint said leaning over towards Laura "Honey. Ah, I missed you." Laura said, Nat walked over towards Laura "How's little Natasha, huh?" Laura looked at her "She's...Nathaniel." Nat bent down to be eye level with her stomach "Traitor" she said before standing back up. Thor then left the house with Steve trailing after him.
Clint and Laura headed to their bedroom and the rest of us just sort of split up. I got dragged into Lila's room to play. We played for a few hours before everyone was called out to a meeting. I came out and sat at the table while everyone talked. I zoned out while they talked thinking back to the Maximoff Twins, they intrigue me. We needed to go now, we all piled into the quinjet and headed to Sokovia.
"Did you guys copy that?" Steve said into the comms, "We did." Clint said "I got a private jet taking off, across town, no manifest. That could be him." Nat said "There. It's a truck from the lab. Right above you, Cap. On the loop by the bridge. It's them. I got three with the Cradle, one in the cab. I could take out the driver." Clint said "Negative! If that truck crashes, the gem could level the city. We need to draw out Ultron." Steve said "Then hurry up and get him out" I said over the comms. "No, no, no, no, no. Leave me alone!" We could hear ultron say. "Well, he's definitely unhappy! I'm gonna try and keep him that way." Steve said
"You're not a match for him, Cap." I said "Wow!, thanks L/n" Steve said back sarcastically "We got a window. Four, three... give 'em hell." Clint said opening the hatch as Nat and I get on our bikes. "I'm always picking up after you boys." Nat says as she scoops up Steve's shield. "L/n, that train is going off the rails move the citizens" Nat said before driving off. I pulled over and started directing the train with my ice. I eventually find a window to get on the train and I try to help Steve fight off ultron before the Twins get on.
"Please. Don't do this." Ultron said to the twins "What choice do we have?" Wanda said "I lost him! He's headed your way!" Steve said into the comms
"Nat, we gotta go." Clint said "If you have the package, get it to Stark! Go!" Steve said "Do you have eyes on Nat?" Clint said "Go!" Steve said again. "Civilians in our path" I said turning back to everyone, Pietro then ran off "Can you stop this thing?" Steve asked wanda. She uses her powers to stop the train and we all exit. "I'm fine. I just need to take a minute." Pietro says as Wanda runs over to him
"I'm very tempted not to give you one" Steve said as we joined the twins "The Cradle, did you get it?" Wanda said "Stark will take care of it." Steve said "No, he won't." Wanda said "You don't know what you're talking about, Stark's not crazy." Steve said "He will do anything to make things right." Wanda said "She's right you know" I said "Stark, come in. Stark. Anyone on comms?" Steve said "Ultron can't tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it. Where do you think he gets that?" Wanda said "Let's go" I said and we all headed back to the LabÂ
"I'm gonna say this once." Steve said as we all appeared "How about "nonce"?" Tony said rolling his eyes "Shut it down!" Steve said firmly "Nope, not gonna happen." Tony said "You don't know what you're doing." I said "And you do? She's not in your head?" Bruce said pointing at Wanda and then at us "I know you're angry." Wanda started "Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade." Bruce said "Banner, after everything that's happened-" Steve started "That's nothing compared to what's coming!" Tony said "You don't know what's in there!" Wanda and I said at the same time
"This isn't a game" Steve started before Wanda cut him off "The creature" then Pietro ran through and destroyed the lab equipment "No, no, go on you were saying" Pietro said before an arrow shot up through the floor "Pietro!" Wanda shouted "I'm rerouting the upload" tony said walking towards the computer "Go ahead piss me off" Bruce said wrapping his arms around Wanda. Then Thor slammed through the roof "Wait!" I shouted as he used a lightning bolt to charge the crate. Something flew out of the crate and threw itself at Thor before flying away and stopping in front of the window.
"I'm sorry, that was...odd" a voice came from the being sounding like JARVIS. "Thank you" it said turning towards Thor. "Thor, you helped create this?" Steve said questioningly "I've had a vision. A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life and at its center is that" Thor said pointing at the yellow stone on its head "What, the gem?" Bruce said confused "It's the Mind Stone. It's one of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities." Thor said clearing up the confusion "Then why would you bring it to..." Steve said before being cut off "Because Stark is right" Thor said "Oh, it's definitely the end times" I said laughing
"The avengers cannot defeat Ultron" Thor said "Not alone" Vision said "Wow thanks for having faith in us guys" I said sarcastically "Why does your "vision" sound like JARVIS?" Steve said "We... reconfigured JARVIS' matrix to create something new." Tony said "I think I've had my fill of new" Steve said "You think I'm a child of Ultron?" Vision said "You're not?" I said "I'm not Ultron. I'm not JARVIS. I am... I am." Vision said trying to find the right words "I looked in your head and saw annihilation." Wanda said "Look again" vision said "Yeah. Her seal of approval means jack to me." Clint said "Their powers, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the Mind Stone, and they're nothing compared to what it can unleash. But with it on our side..." Thor said
"Is it? Are you? On our side?" Steve said to Vision "I don't think it's that simple" vision said "Well it better get real simple, real soon" Clint said "I am on the side of life. Ultron isn't, he will end it all." Vision said "What's he waiting for?" Tony asked "You" Vision said "Where?" Bruce said interrupting. "Sokovia. He's got Nat there too" Clint said "If we're wrong about you, if you're the monster that Ultron made you to be..." Bruce started "What will you do?" Vision said questioningly
"I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net, we have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the others. Maybe I am a monster. I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me. But we need to go." Vision said picking up Thor's hammer and handing it to him. We all looked at him shocked and then he walked off.
"Right... well done" Thor said patting Tony's shoulder "Three minutes, get what you need" Steve said "Follow me" I said to the twins and we walked to the back to change. We all got on the jet and made our way to Sokovia. "We're under attack! Clear the city, now!" Pietro said running into the police station [no one takes this seriously so Pietro returns with a rifle and starts shooting in the air] "Get off your asses." He shouts before running out again.
"All they want is to live their lives in peace, and that's not going to happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done, and find out what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us. Ultron thinks we're monsters and we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right." Steve says to the team before running off. We all started fighting the robots and keeping the citizens safe. "Go! Go!, Move!" Clint said to Wanda and I as the three of us run into a building
"How could I let this happen?" Wanda said starting to break down "Hey,hey, you okay?" I said crouching in front of her "This is all our fault" Wanda said hiding her head in her hands "It's not your fault" I said trying to be reassuring "Hey, look at me. It's your fault, it's everyone's fault, who cares. Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know, cause the city is flying. Okay, look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense. But I'm going back out there because it's my job. Okay? And I can't do my job and babysit. It doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good, I'll send your brother to come find you, but if you step out that door, you are an Avenger." Clint said crouching next to us
"Alright good chat" he says running out "Yeah the city is flying" Clint said before leaving completely "Are you good?" I said turning back to Wanda "Yeah, Let's go" Wanda said as we both exited the building using our powers to destroy the robots "Were clear here" Clint said as he shot an arrow at the last robot "We are not clear!, We are very not clear!" Steve said "Alright, coming to you" Clint says before Pietro speeds in and picks Wanda and I up before running off again "Keep up Old Man!" Pietro shouted back at Clint "Nobody would know. Nobody" Clint said "The last I saw him, when Ultron was sitting on him. Uh...yeah, he'll be missed, that quick little bastard. I miss him already." Clint said still running
"Hold your fire!" A soldier shouts as we stop in front of them. We fought off the robots around before joining Nat and Steve at the edge of the city "Everyone up here versus everyone down there? There's no math there" I heard Nat say "I'm not leaving this rock with one civilian on it" Steve said "I didn't say we should leave" Nat said as Steve turned towards her "There's worse ways to go. Where else am I gonna get a view like this?" Nat said "Glad you like the view, Romanoff. It's about to get better" Fury said coming in on the comms "Nice, right? I pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do." Fury said
"Fury you son of a bitch" Steve said "Ooh you kiss your mother with that mouth" Fury responded. We all ran back to the battle as they started to let out lifeboats for the citizens "Avengers it's time to work for a living" tony said as we gathered around the core "This is the drill. If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose" Tony said pointing to the big thing in the middle of us all. Ultron then flew up in front of us "Is that the best you can do?" Thor said then ultras summoned all his army "You had to ask" Steve said "This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you, against all of me. How could you possibly hope to stop me?" Ultron said
"Well. Like the old man said, Together" Tony said. We all start fighting keeping the robots from the core once they all cleared out it was just Ultron against Tony, Thor, and Vision he started to say something before Hulk punched him. "They'll try to leave the city" Thor said "We can't let 'em, not even one. Rhodey!" Tony said "I'm on it!" I heard him say through the comms "We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats, I'll sweep for stragglers, be right behind you" Steve said to the team "What about the core?" Clint said.
"I'll protect it. It's my job" Wanda says and so the rest of team leaves "Get the people on the boats." Wanda said to pietro "I'm not going to leave you here." He said "I can handle this." She said blasting a robot "Come back for me when everyone else is off, not before" Wanda said turning back to Pietro "Hmm" Pietro said "You understand?" Wanda said "You know I'm twelve minutes older than you" Pieter said before running off "Go" Wanda said laughing "Are you sure you're good" I said, she nods so I leave.
I follow out to the main area where I help load citizens on the boat. Nat heads to calm Bruce down and Clint went into the lifeboat. I then see a little kid trapped I run over to help and Clint joins me we hear bullets coming our way and Clint jumps in front of us before the bullets get to us I threw up ice as a car landed blocking the bullets. I turn to see Pietro standing there, he's fine but a bullet grazed his arm. I heard Wanda destroy the last of the robots before running to the train ultron was in. "Get on the lifeboats" Clint said carrying the kid back to his mom
Pietro and I get on the lifeboat and then begin searching for Wanda. The city started to fall and the lifeboats took off "Have you seen Wanda I don't see her" pietro said to me " No I haven't maybe she made it on a different lifeboat?" I said. Then we saw vision fly past holding Wanda "I guess that's our answer" I said laughing "Since this is over now, we should get a cup of coffee, or whatever you want and hang out sometime" Pietro said sitting next to me "hmmm I'll think about it" I said before shutting my eyes

"Piet!" I shouted from my bedroom "Yeah?" He said zooming in "Have you seen that hoodie I always wear?" I said digging through the drawers before turning to look at him "You mean this one?" He said referring to the one he was wearing. "Yes that one, give it to me" i said "You'll have to come take it from me" he said before speeding off "Piet!" I shouted taking off after him.

Vacation Part 2 ~ Prague [P.P]
Series Masterlist || Main Masterlist
A/n: Chapter 2 is here! I'm still working on 3 and I'll hopefully have it done in time for next week. I'm so grateful for the response from this small series and I'm excited that you all like it! This chapter has more angst in it and yes I was slightly inspired by To all the boys I've loved before haha.
Thank you to @eeyore101247 for beta reading this chapter for me at the last minute! I love you Lolo!
WC: 5.8k
Warnings: Angst, mentions of slut-shaming and bullying, high school sucks, mentions of Tony and grief but also cute romantic fluff cause we love to see it.
The end of the classâ time in Italy arrived too soon in Peterâs opinion. Heâd had so much fun with you, heâd almost forgotten entirely about his plan. Almost. There was still a part of him drawn to MJ and still felt jealous when she was with Brad which started to happen more often.
And yet he always felt himself drawn back to you.
Peter sighed as he finished packing his bags, his head reeling from everything until he heard a knock on the door. Mostly everyone had left the hotel in a hurry but Ned had stayed with Peter.
âYou got a package.â He handed Peter the wrapped package and looked at him with a furrowed brow. âDo you think itâs a bomb or something?â
Peter looked at his best friend in bewilderment. âWell I do now!â
âIâm sure itâs not.â Ned shook his head, eying the package carefully. Peter cautiously looked at Ned and back at the parcel in his hands. He knew this vacation had been too good to be true. He carefully looked at the writing and noticed a shield logo in the corner.
âItâs from SHIELD.â Peter spoke carefully as he opened the wrapping, he was hoping maybe for a cool badge or something but instead there was only a glasses case. Ned and him exchanged a look before opening the case.
There inside of the wooden casing was a pair of glasses, they looked mostly ordinary with a blue shaded tint to the lenses like the kind Tony would wear. Peter felt a strange kind of feeling as he looked at them, it was a mix of grief and disappointment, are these old glasses really the only thing Tony had left for him?
âAwesome!â Ned looked over Peterâs shoulder at the glasses. âTry them on!â
Peter thought about it before quickly closing the case and putting it in his backpack, shaking his head. âWeâll be late for the flight.â
âOh you didnât hear?â Ned gave Peter a look who shrugged in return. âWeâre going by coach now. Mr Harrington said we got an upgrade to Prague.â
âWhat about Paris?!â Peter exclaimed, looking at Ned with wide eyes.
âWell Mr Harrington and Mr Dell kind of got into an argument about whether it was Prague or Paris we were meant to be going to. Turns out Mr Harrington was supposed to book Paris but he booked Prague instead.â Ned explained, shaking his head.
Peter sighed and furrowed his brow, a coach didnât sound much fun but at least Peter didnât have to worry about flying. He wasnât sure if there were any romantic spots in Prague but it was nothing a quick internet search couldnât fix. Itâs not like his plan was going according anyway.
He grabbed his bags and walked down to where the rest of the class were already boarding a large coach.
Everyone was already seated by the time Peter got on. MJ was with Brad, Ned was with Betty and you were with one of your friends. The only free seat was next to Flash and Peter preferred the option of sitting by himself at the back, he could do with the peace and quiet anyway.
You gave him a smile as he walked past and he returned it before taking his seat, almost falling into it as the driver started down the road. Peter rested his head against the window and took out his earphones, noticing the case next to them. He played his music as he took out the case and looked at the glasses again.
He picked them up and tried them on, waiting for something to happen but nothing did. He laughed dryly and shook his head, going to take them off before he noticed a Stark industries business card at the bottom of the case.
For the next Tony Stark, I trust you. Say EDITH.
Peter read the message aloud and jumped as the glasses flashed blue, a female voice talking to him much like the one he had in his suit. An interface loaded in front of him, showing a scan of his face.
âRetinal and biometric scan completed.â
âHello?â
âHello Peter. I am EDITH, Tony Starkâs augmented reality security and defence system.â
Peter adjusted the glasses and smiled, Tony had given him an AI with access to all of his protocols. He almost couldnât believe that he had trusted him with that kind of access.
âEDITH stands for even dead Iâm the hero. Tony loved his acronyms.â
âYeah he did.â Peter smiled fondly, remembering the time he had tried to make up some of his own but had never quite hit the mark.
âI have access to the entire Stark global security network including multiple defence satellites and backdoors to all major telecommunication networks.â
Peter looked around as screens loaded before him of what his classmates and teachers were up to on their phones including Mr Dell researching the history of witchcraft. Ned and Betty were texting each other even though they were sat together.
âWoah.â Peter couldnât get over how cool this was to have all of this access at his fingertips. He looked over at MJ wondering if she was texting before changing his mind, knowing it would be wrong. His eyes landed on where you sat and your texts showed before him. Ned wasnât the only one Betty was texting.
Y/n: I really like him.
Betty: I know but Iâm pretty sure he likes MJ :/
Peter could feel his heart racing. He wanted so badly to tell you Betty was wrong but the truth was he didnât know anymore.
You looked over at MJ and Brad, biting your lip before glancing at Peter. He quickly looked away from you, his eyes looking over towards MJ on accident. He didnât see the way your face fell but he did see the last text you sent to Betty.
Y/n: Yeah, youâre right.
Peter sighed and put his head in his hands, wanting to scream into oblivion.
âPete, everything okay?â
He quickly looked up at the sound of your voice and nodded, worrying that somehow you knew he had been spying. He tried to quickly think of something to say as you sat next to him, looking worried and saddened.
A momentâs silence passed between the both of you, neither sure of what to say. The only sound came from the chatters of the bus and the passing scenery outside.
âI like your glasses. Are they new?â You smiled, breaking the silence as you admired the new frames and the eyes underneath them. Peter slowly nodded and took them off.
âY-yeah, they were a gift.â He gave you a small smile and put them back in the case. You noticed the Stark industries logo but didnât say anything more on the topic. You knew how much Tony had meant to Peter.
After the blip when everyone returned to their old lives, you noticed Peter wasnât the same person. He seemed sadder and lost, struggling to pay attention even in lessons he loved and sometimes heâd have to excuse himself quickly from the classroom. You had followed him once and found him on the floor, sobbing into his hands. He didnât even register it was you that had hugged him until he looked up and mumbled an apology.
Seeing him that way broke your heart and the last thing you wanted to cause was more sadness for him when he was meant to be enjoying himself.
âI think they look good on you.â
Peter blushed and smiled, bowing his head shyly. âThank you.â
You smiled back and nodded, deciding to listen to your music and handing Peter an earphone. He looked surprised at the gesture but took it anyway and listened to your music, a wide smile gracing his lips as you both shared the sweet moment together.
It stayed like that for the rest of the journey, both of you enjoying each other's company just as you had done in Venice. Peter couldn't get rid of the smile from his face until they stopped for a restroom break and he saw Brad and MJ holding hands as they got off the bus. His whole face fell which didn't go unnoticed by you.
Peter gave you a quick goodbye before going after Ned, in need of his best friendâs advice. You meekly said a goodbye before sighing and grabbing your things. Your eyes landed on a small journal on Peterâs seat that he must have left behind.
You know you shouldnât have looked but the temptation was biting away at you. It was only just a peek, you told yourself. You smiled as you saw some doodles scribbled on the pages, chemical equations for something called web fluid (probably some cool science thing he was working on) and a section dedicated to The plan.
Intrigued of what the plan entailed you read ahead and with each written word the jealousy in your heart grew and the sadness broke your heart. Peter was planning to romance MJ with gifts and a whole speech he had written out in detail. Everything was planned and you were nothing more than a distraction. You even noticed that in one of Peterâs doodles he had written MJ or Y/n???
*~*~*~*
âI swear it was in here.â Peter sighed as he searched his bag for his journal, the one that held all his personal thoughts and feelings. Ned had tried to help him look but the mission was futile.
âIt will turn up. Maybe you just left it on the bus.â
Peter nodded and sighed heavily, zipping his backpack up and throwing it back on his shoulders. He spotted a nice little souvenir for Morgan and paid for it before leaving the small store. He took a moment to look around where they had stopped since the rest of the group were taking their time and as he got closer to a small empty bathroom he could hear the sound of someone crying.
He gently knocked on the door to make sure that whoever it was was okay before being sharply told to go away. Peter felt even worse as he recognised your voice. He wondered what had happened since sheâd been fine when he last saw her.
ây/n?â
âPeter just leave me alone, please.â Your voice cracked as you spoke, small sniffles escaping you as you sat on the edge of the closed toilet seat.
âYou know I canât do that.â He rested his head against the door and sighed softly, willing to wait for you until you came out.
âIâm trying to make things easier for you!â
Peter hummed in confusion before something slid out from underneath the door, his journal.
âGo be with MJ.â
âY/n no..â He sighed and resisted the urge to bang his head against the door. âI-â He didnât even know how to explain but he did know one thing. âIt doesnât matter what it says in there. Iâve had so much fun with you on this trip and I know now that you canât plan everything, you canât plan falling in love because it just happens.â
As Peter spoke he realised that his words were truer than they had ever been, he was falling for you and he couldnât stop himself. He didnât want to stop. He didnât care about his plan anymore and yes it still hurt when MJ was with Brad but it was nothing compared to the happiness he felt when he was with you.
The world felt silent around the both of you as Peterâs words processed. You felt even more confused than before but you could also feel something else, hope. Peter listened to your breathing and the small sniffles that still came from behind the door.
âIâm gonna head back onto the bus. I got cookies if you wanna share.â
You held back a giggle and rolled your eyes fondly before opening the bathroom door and wiping your eyes free of tears.
âThey better be chocolate chip.â
âIs there any other kind?â
You and Peter both laughed as you got back on the bus, already heading to the back together to find your seats. Peter put his journal away out of sight and smiled at you, taking out the cookies he had brought and offering one to you. It did nothing to ease the ache still in your heart but it did fill your stomach and no matter what you still liked being in Peterâs company.
*~*~*~*
The hotel for Prague turned out to be a lot better than the one they had stayed in during their time in Venice. Mr Harrington said that an anonymous someone had given them an upgrade which made Peterâs Spidey senses tingle. Maybe he was just being paranoid but he also knew that things like this were usually too good to be true.
Everyone was shown to their room, all except for Peter who got held back at reception by the lady at the desk.
âHe said to leave this here for you when you arrived Mr Parker.â
Peter looked at her with confusion as he took the envelope, a familiar handwriting scrawled on top. His heart suddenly felt heavy but he pushed the resurfacing feelings of grief aside and nodded, making his way up to his room.
He could hear through the door that Ned and Betty were already inside making cutesy talk while soft music played. Whilst Peter loved his friends, he wanted to go somewhere quiet and open the letter. His mind had already decided where to go as he made his way towards the room number he needed and knocked.
The door opened to reveal your beautiful smile which already made Peter feel a sense of calm. He looked around for your suit buddy and sighed in relief as the room was empty.
âCan I come in?â
You nodded without hesitation, seeing the slight pain on Peterâs face and brought him to sit down on one of the comfy twin beds. He held the letter in slightly shaky hands and kept his eyes on it. You spotted the familiar logo on the envelope, the same that was on Peterâs glasses case and realised.
âIs that from-?â
âMhm.â Peter nodded, keeping his lips in a tight thin line as he contemplated opening it. His mind was running a mile a minute with so many thoughts. Heâd gotten the glasses from Tony and that was enough for him even if the card had been a bit of a riddle. He wasnât sure if he could handle a letter too.
âCan you open it?â Peter looked at you pleadingly as he handed you the letter, his hands still visibly shaking. You hesitated before nodding and carefully opened the envelope, reading the letter aloud.
Dear Peter,
Iâm writing this in case all goes well and we manage to restore normality, at least what once was. I know youâre going to do great things and maybe youâll make mistakes along the way but thatâs part of being human kid. God knows I made more than I can count.
I wanted to make your senior year as awesome as it should be so if youâre reading this then you made it kid. I donât remember much of my last year of high school but I wanted to make sure you did so make the most of it and donât worry about any extracurriculars on your trip.
I know youâll make me proud Peter cause you already do. Now go have fun and donât do anything I would do or anything I wouldnât do. Remember the little grey area is where you operate.
Anonymous someone.
Peter laughed and sniffled as you finished, wiping his eyes as tears had started to fall. You quickly put the letter down and wrapped your arms around him, hugging him close.
âItâs okay.â
He nodded against your shoulder as a few more tears fell, his fingers clinging onto your sweater. Peter wasnât sure whether to smile or cry more at the words from his mentor so he did both. He reread the letter again and again that night, feeling the weight on his heart ease. Tony had upgraded his class trip for him probably through Happy to make sure Peter had a nice time and he had also said he was proud of him. That hit Peter the most and it was what he needed to hear in that moment.
You both stayed like that for a few minutes as Peterâs breathing calmed, his tears reducing to sniffles. You rubbed his back comfortingly and played with his curls which seemed to relax Peter more as he stayed in your arms.
When you both pulled away neither was sure of what to say. Peter focused on clearing his face of tears and running a hand through his messy curls whilst you played with the sleeves of your sweater. You wished you could ask Peter to stay the night, after all your roommate for the trip had gone home with food poisoning.
Little did you know Peter was thinking the same thoughts, knowing Ned and Betty would probably still be in his room or go to hers. Sometimes they spooned and stayed up till late hours of the night talking, he wasnât sure he could deal with that right now and he liked being in your company.
âDo you want to-?â
âCan I-?â
You both laughed as you spoke over each other, exchanging a back and forth argument of who should speak first. Peter insisted you speak and gave you a small smile.
You nodded and took a deep breath before looking into those familiar warm, honey coloured eyes. âDo you want to stay here tonight? Thereâs two beds and I heard thereâs a Star Wars Marathon on tv.â
Peterâs smile widened, his eyes crinkling with happiness as he nodded. âIâd love to.â
The night passed by in a blur as you and Peter stayed up to watch his favourite movies, even having ordered some food from room service which had apparently also been covered by Stark industries. Just like in Venice, you laughed and joked and enjoyed each otherâs company, smiling as you saw Peter enjoying himself.
There was still a hurt from earlier knowing how much he had wanted to be with MJ and you knew they would work together as a couple, youâd seen them in decathlon together but MJ seemed to be enjoying time with Brad and Peter was here with you. A warm flutter of butterflies exploded in your stomach as you met his gaze, he offered his warm smile and offered you some of his popcorn to which you nodded.
Maybe your chance wasnât so dead after all.
Just as you were about to wind down for the night, it being way past midnight, Peter looked at you with a hesitant smile.
âHey Y/n?â
You looked up at him in response, picking up some popcorn from your competition to see who could throw and catch the most in their mouths (Peter had won).
âI- um would you-â Peter stuttered over his words as they got caught on his tongue. He cleared his throat and you bit back a smile at how utterly cute he was. âThereâs this big carnival tomorrow and I was hoping maybe w-we could go together?â
His cheeks flushed pink as he finally asked the question heâd been dying to ask all night, his eyes too scared to look at your reaction.
âPeter,â You walked over and cupped his cheeks, forcing him to look at you. He relaxed at seeing the wide smile on your face. âI would love to go with you.â
His smile widened to match yours and a wave of relief washed over him. âThatâs great.â He gave a chuckle and blushed as you delicately kissed his cheek before getting into your bed for the night.
âJust to make sure I meant like a date.â Peter clarified, worried about getting put into the friendzone.
You giggled and smiled at him from your bed. âI know Pete. Itâs a date.â You winked at him before turning off the light and laying back, ready to fall asleep with a wide smile on your face.
Peter smiled wide as he laid in bed, the sheets and mattress softer than the last one he had slept on. Everything finally seemed to be falling into place, it wasnât as Peter had imagined but it was far better.
*~*~*~*~*~*
The next morning Peter woke up feeling more refreshed than he had felt in a long time. The sun was shining over Prague and even Peter felt brighter in himself. He looked over at your bed and smiled as he found you still asleep, snoring softly.
Peterâs whole heart leapt at the sight and he let out a happy sigh as he thought about last night. You had comforted him and held him and had even agreed to go on a date with him tonight. He felt like the luckiest human alive which made him want to do a little dance in his bed as he thought about it.
âWhat are you doing?â
Peter blushed and looked over to see that you were now awake and looking at him with an amused smile.
âUh nothing.â He laughed and got out of bed, gathering the letter and his shoes. You giggled as you watched him accidentally grab your sneakers before switching them for his own. âI better get going. Donât want Mr Harrington to call an emergency buddy meeting again.â
You laughed and agreed with a nod, remembering the last one at the airport when Mr Harrington had panicked the whole group when he thought Ned had gone missing only to see he was right behind him.
Peter smiled at you as he opened the door, âIâll see you later?â
You nodded and smiled wide, âDonât be late Parker.â
He shook his head and laughed as he left, an unwavering smile on his face as he headed back to his room. Peter didnât notice Flash see him leave your room with a smile and his shoes in hand nor the phone recording him.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Peter took a deep breath as he stood in front of the mirror, brushing down his shirt as he bit his lip. âIâm not sure.â
Ned sighed and flopped back onto his bed. âPeter, this is the 7th shirt youâve tried on! You look fine!â He knew as soon as he uttered the last word that Peter would rummage through his suitcase yet again for the perfect shirt.
10 minutes later, Peter was finally ready for his date, much to Nedâs relief. He watched as Peter gave himself a pep talk in the mirror, mumbling in the hopes Ned couldnât hear him.
âOkay hereâs the plan-â
Ned was just about to tell Peter enough with his plans before the door opened and MJ walked in.
âHey losers.â
âHave you ever heard of knocking?â Ned looked at her and raised his brow. MJ shrugged in response and sat down on Peterâs vacant bed. She looked at him as he turned back to the mirror and tried to tame his messy curls.
âSo you and Y/n huh?â MJ noted with a smirk, stealing some of the gummy worms that Peter had brought for the trip. He turned around so quickly, he almost got whiplash.
âWhat?! I-â Peter was at a loss for words, he knew news spread quickly at Midtown but how had anyone found out in one night. âWeâre not really a thing yet.â He blushed and avoided his friendsâ gazes.
âOh really? Then why did Flash see you leave her room last night in the same clothes as yesterday.â MJ smirked again and threw a gummy worm at Peter who looked at her with wide eyes.
âI just- I stayed in her room last night.â He admitted, his cheeks burning red as Ned and MJ didnât look convinced. âBut nothing happened!â
Ned and MJ shared a sympathetic look as they saw Peterâs distress grow at the rumor. He picked up his phone and panicked as he saw the midtown gossip website showing a video of him leaving your room. Before he could panic anymore Peter quickly made his way to the other side of the hotel floor and banged on Flashâs door.
âWoah penis what-?â
âTake it down.â Peter didnât disguise his anger as Flash opened the door.
âWhat?â
âThe video you took last night Flash. Please take it down.â Peter lowered his voice and pleaded. He knew this would affect you as soon as you saw it and the last thing he wanted was for you to get hurt because of him. Not again.
âWhy? Donât want everyone to know youâre not a virgin anymore?â Flash smirked and laughed before noticing the anger grow once more on Peterâs face. âThe videoâs out of my control. Sorry dude.â
Flash closed the door, not sounding sorry at all. Peter sighed and leaned against the wall, resting his head back. Everywhere around him classmates were getting ready for the carnival, whispering behind his back and giving him looks, he wasnât sure if they were impressed looks or disgusted ones but either way he didnât like them.
Peter usually lied low so he could avoid things like this and stay out of the rumor mill. He hated rumors and he hated being a part of them even more. Just as he was contemplating messaging Happy to see if he could do something, he heard a door open and looked up.
You walked out of your room, looking as beautiful as ever and Peter swear his heart almost dropped out of his stomach at the sight as the butterflies ran rampant in his stomach. You looked around before catching his gaze and smiling.
âHey Pete.â
For a moment, Peter forgot how to form words, too focused on how beautiful you looked as you smiled. His throat felt dry and his hands felt clammy to the touch.
âH-hi.â He finally managed to say, his heart racing as you smiled wider and giggled.
âI was just coming to meet you. Are you ready to go?â
Peter thought back to the video circulating his classmates phones and he assumed you hadnât seen it. He knew he shouldâve told you there and then but he didnât want to ruin your date or hurt you so he kept his lips sealed.
He nodded and gave you a small smile, heading out of the hotel with you. Your hands touched briefly as you walked and Peter almost took your hand in his before pulling away as he chickened out. You tried not to show your disappointment and offered Peter a smile.
The streets of Prague were full of life and celebration, everyone wearing bright colours and dancing along the streets as loud music played. Peter allowed himself to be distracted at the joy of the city before your hand slipped into his, catching him by surprise.
You gave his hand a squeeze and smiled, âSo we donât lose each other.â It was partially the truth but you mostly just wanted to hold his hand. Peter smiled and nodded but you could tell something was wrong.
It wasnât just the rumour mill that was getting to Peter, the loud noises and brightness was causing his heightened senses to overload. He began to feel on edge and his palms grew even sweatier than before.
âPeter are you okay?â
He looked at you and bit his lip, shaking his head slowly. You squeezed his hand comfortingly and nodded, seemingly understanding what needed to be done as you led him over to the Ferris wheel.
Peter sighed in relief as you and him both got seated, your hands still interlinked as the door shut to the cart you were in.
âI hate crowds too.â You admitted with a soft blush and met his gaze. Peter smiled softly and squeezed your hand like you had done to his.
The wheel moved slowly allowing you both to enjoy the moment and the sights of the city. Peter knew that he didnât need to fill the silence or try to talk, you were just there for each other as you had been last night and the whole trip.
Music from the streets filled the silence of the night as you and Peter looked out at the stars glittering in the night sky. It was right as you reached the peak of the wheel that Peter finally broke the silence.
âI really like you Y/n.â
You blushed and turned to Peter, noticing the redness of his cheeks and the staggered breaths escaping his lips. He looked straight ahead for a few moments before he felt your hand grip tighter onto his and saw your smile from the corner of his eye.
âI really like you too Peter.â
He smiled wide, mirroring yours before noticing your face fall just as fast.
âBut I donât want to be second best.â
Peterâs heart broke at her words, knowing she was thinking back to his journal. He shook his head and quickly cupped your cheeks in his hands, meeting your gaze lovingly.
âYouâre not second best Y/n. You never were and you never will be. The truth is Iâve always liked you but I just- I never thought I would be lucky enough to have a chance with you.â
You smiled at the genuinity in Peterâs voice and his warm brown eyes that pulled you in ever closer until your lips were almost touching. âAlways liked me huh?â
Peter nodded and smiled wide, the blush on his cheeks becoming brighter as he looked down at your lips.
âC-can I kiss you?â
âI thought youâd never ask.â
You smiled as Peterâs lips finally met your own, after years of pining and wondering what if. Peterâs lips were soft and tasted like the cotton candy you had shared earlier. Your lips were sweeter than Peter had ever imagined, if that was possible.
Neither of you wanted the kiss to end but you could feel the need for air increasing in your lungs. You were the first one to pull back, catching your breath as you leaned your forehead against Peterâs. He chuckled softly and smiled so wide that his eyes crinkled.
âWoah.â
You nodded and pecked his lips once more with a giggle. The blush on your cheeks was rivalling Peterâs now as you noticed the ride was soon coming to an end. Peter looked disappointed before quickly paying for another ride.
âI hope you did that so you can kiss me again.â You smiled coyly and looped your arms around Peterâs neck.
âMaybe.â He shrugged and laughed before leaning in to kiss you again but this time he hesitated as he saw the looks from some of his classmates. The reminder hitting him like a train.
âPete? Whatâs wrong?â Your fingers played with the curls at the nape of his neck as the wheel started to move again. Peter visibly gulped and his mood fell as he looked back at you.
âThereâs something I have to tell you.â
You bit your lip in worry and nodded, having a feeling you knew what Peter was going to say.
âPete I know.â
âYou do?â
You giggled and nodded again, kissing his cheek and leaning in close. Peter blushed and looked guilty, his eyes avoiding yours.
âYou being Spider-Man doesnât bother me.â
Peterâs blood ran cold and he quickly shifted away, laughing in pretend disbelief. âI-What?! No. I-Iâm not Spider-Man!â
You looked knowingly at him and rubbed his arm, taking his hand back in yours. âPeter itâs okay, i think itâs cool.â You smiled but Peter still sat in denial, shaking his head.
âI-â He gulped and sighed, biting his lip. âIs it that obvious?â
âNo but Iâve had a crush on your for a while now and Iâm not dumb Peter. The glasses and the letter from Iron Man. And then there was Washington. I just know you Peter.â You blushed and fidgeted with your hands, feeling embarrassed to admit your crush even though you had only kissed him 5 seconds ago.
Peter smiled, finding it endearing that you knew him and had paid attention to him all this time. He leaned back in close to you and rested his hand on yours.
âOh my god!â You gasped, laughing as Peter was taken aback at your exclamation. âIâm dating a freaking superhero!â You giggled with Peter before kissing him again. The kiss was even more perfect than the last as your lips began to learn and memorise each other.
*~*~*~*~*
The carnival livened up even more as the night went on. The music became louder and the people got more drunk, something that might have made Peter annoyed but nothing could ruin his mood right now. He could still taste the sweetness of your lips on his and he just couldnât get enough.
You giggled as Peter kissed your lips again after winning you a gigantic teddy bear. He smiled wide and giggled with you, the sound like music to your ears. You hugged the bear tight to your chest after choosing to name it Spidey which made Peter blush.
âThis is so amazing.â You remarked as you took a moment to enjoy the scenery surrounding you. Peter sat with you on a nearby bench and nodded, hesitantly wrapping his arm around you. He smiled as you leaned into his side with a happy sigh. The moment was perfect and Peter was sure nothing could ruin it.
You jumped a little as your phone buzzed before pulling it from your pocket. Peter smiled to himself as he saw Spider-Man was the wallpaper on your phone. You blushed and tried to quickly hide it as you opened the message from Betty.
Peter turned his eyes towards the street to give you some privacy, the last thing he wanted you to think was that he was reading your texts (again).
He only looked back at you as you slowly pulled away from his arms, clutching your phone in your hands and only then did Peter notice that Betty had sent you the video of him leaving your room last night. You were scrolling through the comments and Peter saw that amongst the nice or gossiping comments that were hurtful ones calling you names.
âY/n I-â
You shook your head and bit your lip, quickly locking your phone. You noticed a group of girls from your class staring at you and giggling, whispering in each other's ears.
âI have to go.â You sniffled as you grabbed your bag and quickly walked back to the hotel, ignoring Peterâs calls of your name. He sighed and tried to chase after you but within seconds he had lost you in the crowd and maybe for good this time.

Before the snap he was best friend with Peter and ned when he was like a kid and the three of them hang out. Plue Y/n and peter do like spiderman ideas. After the snap he was living with Tony, pepper, and his little sister in the lakeside cabin. In the year 2021 he got bitten by a radioactive spider but has an alchemax logo and number 42.
Since you were a toddler you have been friends with Peter and Ned. Always together playing together. Even during high school, you didn't lose your friendship with Ned and Peter. You have always been into creating music and art, sometimes you would like to tag the buildings and the trains. Only, Peter and Ned knew they are your supporters.
Sometimes you and Peter would do parkour. You and Peter have sketchbooks and notes of being a hero and being called âSpidermanâ
You, Peter, and Ned never left each other side. People always saw you three spend time together all the time.
-----
Spring 2018... 50% of the population disappeared. The older you got, you started to study what happened during the fight against Thanos. You collected notes, hacked into your fatherâs computer and his friendsâ computers then into Shields.
You survived the snap when you found out what happened it broke you. You cried when Peter didn't survive, or when your dad is stuck in space. You would spend hours in your fatherâs lab and look at his stuff.
âY/N, I knew you would be here. You are like Tony can work on something for hours or daysâ Pepper said.
She put her hand on your shoulder.
âI miss him and Peter,â You said.
âI miss them too. You should see Ned, he came by earlierâ Pepper said.
You nod.
âI will go see him. *sighed heavily* I want Thanos to sufferâ You said.
âOne day he will,â Pepper said and she kissed your head.
Later, you went to see Ned. Ned did give you new ideas for your spiderman gadgets so it won't break half of the time. You and Ned start to work together on it.
⏠⫠⯠âŹ
The year 2021...
You walked through the alley for a short cut. You dropped your cell phone, you bend down to pick up. You stood up and checked your phone while walking you hit a web. You tried to get rid of the web and you didn't notice the radioactive spider crawl on your shoulder and bite your neck.
âWhat the hell?â You yelled.
You rub your neck then noticed the radioactive spider on your forearm. You noticed the spider has an alchemax logo and number 42.
âYou are coming home with meâ You mumbled.
You went home and straight to the lab. You put the spider in a small tank and watched it move around.
-----
The next day you woke up feeling strange. You couldn't explain it, you are in shock just seeing electricity go through your hands. You start to breathe hard and your heart started to beat fast. You go to the bathroom to wash your face suddenly you turned invisible.
âI have powers!â You yelled.
Your mood changed, now you are happy that you have powers. You always dreamt of being a hero and having powers, you couldn't stop smiling. You called Ned and told him to meet you at your house. Ned did help you figure out what kind of powers you have.
----
You stare at your fatherâs suits and you thought about using them. But you wanted to make your identity as a hero, you want to give people hope again.
the first suit you made with Ned it's an armored suit. Ned helped you pick out the colors red, white, and black. When Ned saw you wearing the armor suit, he freaked out.
âDude, it's awesome! You will be the coolest hero everâ Ned said.
âThanks. I can't wait to go to the city and start saving peopleâ You said.
You and Ned high five each other. You go to the city and start saving people. Everyone started to talk about the new hero on tv and the Internet, you felt proud of yourself.
⏠⫠⯠âŹ
Being a hero wasn't easy for you. You found out working alone is hard, some people didn't like what you are doing. Other people do cheer for you. Balancing life and being a hero is very hard. But you got an idea and you worked day and night to make the app called âFriendly Neighborhood 1.0â
People can report crimes and you will go save them and keep you in the loop, what happens in the city.
Today is slow and no one is in trouble. You decided to go tag some places. You swing to an abandoned building, you take out the spray cans, and started to draw. You stopped to put on your headphones then you started to draw again. Once you are finished you took pictures then tagged the subways.
----
You got an alert on your app, gang gun shoots in downtown. You started to swing fast and you see people caught in the crossfire. You started to venom blast to fight them and you used your web to take their guns away. You noticed the boy is deaf and you started to do sign language and he smiled.
âYou know sign language?â Cassie asked.
You nod. â Yes. I thought to learn so I can communicate with someone who is deafâ
You asked questions to the boy and you're glad he isn't hurt.
âIâm Cassie and this is Roger,â Cassie said.
âIâm Spiderman,â You said and it in sign language.
Later on...
You and Cassie became friends. She found out your secret when your mask fell apart while fighting Kraven the Hunter. Sometimes you would swing to her place to see her. She would always smile when you're around.
---
Cassie noticed you set a spider-free and didn't kill it.
âI hate spiders I don't know how you stand them,â Cassie said.
âit was a harmless spider. I don't feel scared when bugs are aroundâ You said.
âI hate all kinds of bugs. But it's cute, you liking bugs and not killing them, bug boyâ Cassie smiled.
You laughed and smiled back at her.
âBug boy?â You asked.
She nods.
âYour new nicknameâ Cassie giggled.
âThanks for the nickname?â You giggled.
âAnytime, Y/Nâ Cassie smiled.
~The next day~
Cassie went to your house. She met Pepper then Cassie goes to your bedroom. Cassie didn't say anything, she watches you make beats and you started to sing, you have your headphones on. She kept watching you and you keep making beats. She tapped your shoulder and you looked up, your eyes opened wide.
âCas!â You said too loud.
âHi Bug boy. You are talentedâ Cassie said.
âThanks. Sorry, I didn't hear you come inâ You said.
âSo, you're into music?â Cassie asked.
âYes, also I'm into art. If you want I-I-I can show you my workâ You said shyly.
âI will like to see it, Y/N,â Cassie said.
âCool!â You said.
You grabbed your sketchbook and she starts to look at your art.
⏠⫠⯠âŹ
The year 2022
You told Cassie you wanted to upgrade and design a new suit. Again Cassie caught you making beats this time you teach her how to make beats.
âThis is fun, Y/N,â Cassie said.
âIâm happy that you're enjoying making beats,â You said.
âY/N aren't you scared when you swing around the city?â Cassie asked.
âAt the very beginning, I was terrified when I would swing and jump from extremely tall buildings. Much later on, the fear went away so I'm not scared anymore. If you want you can swing with me around the cityâ You said.
âOkay. That would be an interesting experience, but yeah let's do it. Oh, I got an idea how your suit can lookâ Cassie said.
âTell me,â You said.
Cassie started to explain how your suit should look with what colors. Music is the main inspiration for your suit 2020.
----
You are standing on the roof with Cassie. She wrapped her arms around you very tight.
âReady?â You asked.
âY-yes,â Cassie said.
You hold her tight and you start to swing. Cassieâs heart is beating faster and faster, you feel her grip tighten. You keep swinging and you noticed how scared she is. You stopped on top of the hotel building.
âAre you okay?â You asked.
She put her hand on her chest.
âNo!â Cassie yelled.
You laughed and she smacked your arm.
âIâm guessing you had fun?â You teased.
âI got scared halfway. I thought I was going to fall, I don't know you get used to thatâ Cassie said.
âTakes time. I got over my fear the more I started to swingâ You said.
âI won't do it again,â Cassie said and you laughed.
----
Cassie is sick and you went to buy soup for her. You knocked on her window, she opened it and let you in then you take off the mask.
âI got this for you, Cassie,â You said.
âThank you, Y/Nâ Cassie smiled.
âCassie, I know we been friends for a while but I really like you a lot and I hope we can be more than friends,â You said.
âY/N, I like you too a lot. I would kiss you but I don't want you to get sickâ Cassie said.
You smiled and she sneezed.
You and Cassie do spend time together mostly watching tv or movies. Cassie finds it sweet that you're taking care of her. You gave her medicine and reheat the soup. Later, you and Cassie do play board games, video games and asked questions about each other.
You noticed Cassie has in her bedroom for a while. You go upstairs and you can hear her crying
You sit next to her on the bed âCas, what's wrong?â
âI miss my dad so muchâ Cassie cried.
You wrapped your arms around her and she starts to cry more. You rub her back and you listen to her.
You did try to make her feel better worked for a little bit, but she is still feeling depressed. You stayed with her all-day
⏠⫠⯠âŹ
Finally, your 2020 suit is complete. You can't stop smiling and start to put on the suit. The led mask, you loved it when Cassie told you about it. You got an alert on your app
âTime to test out the suit,â You said.
âBe careful, Y/Nâ Cassie said.
âI will,â You said.
Cassie watched you swing away.
You were busy saving people, Doctor Octopus and Kraven the Hunter kidnapped Cassie. They sent you a message and you got angry. You started to swing rapidly to Doctor Octopusâs lab. Cassie is tied up in a chair and she is feeling terrified.
You start to fight them. You used venom blast to punch Kraven, then Doctor Octopus grabbed you. Kraven punched you then you kicked him in the face and you used your web to cover Doctor Octopusâs face. You turned invisible and you started to fight them.
----
You grabbed Cassie and left the lab. You stopped on a roof and she hugged you tight then she smacked your chest.
âWhat was that for?!â You yelled.
âYou know I hate it,â Cassie said.
âIâm not a speedster. I had to swing us away from themâ You said.
You take off the mask.
âI know but I still hate it,â Cassie said.
Cassie started to ramble on then you did the same ramble on. She kissed you and you kiss her back, you and Cassie pulled apart and smiled. It's the first kiss.
⏠⫠⯠âŹ
Time Skip~
Everything changed for the best. You found out Tony came back from space, you ran to him and hugged him.
âI missed you, dad,â You said
He kissed your head and held you tight.
âI love you 3000, Y/N,â Tony said.
Peter came back and he hugged you and Ned. Ned told everyone by mistake you are dating Cassie. No one knew about the relationship just yet.
âSorry, bro,â Ned said.
âWhen we will get to meet her, Y/N,â Tony said.
âSoon, dad. Don't worry about it, Nedâ You said.
You celebrated with everyone and you can't stop smiling.
----
You and your family moved to the woods, now live in a cabin. Now it feels like a family and you don't want that to change. Your little sister started to scream and ran towards Pepper.
âWhy do you have a pet spider?â Tony asked.
âI hate spiders,â Morgan said.
Pepper was going to kill your pet but you stopped her.
âStop!â You yelled.
The spider is in your hands.
âThe spider is my pet. I got used to him being aroundâ You said.
âY/N, I will never understand why. But please just keep him in the cageâ Pepper said.
âI will,â You said.
You go to your bedroom and put the spider in the tank. You feed him and just watch him.
⏠⫠⯠âŹ
Date Night...
You arrived with pizza and she kissed you. You and Cassie played videos and it became competitive. You were going to take her out, but there is a rainstorm. The night is going well, she is having fun with you. You and Cassie eat pizza and started to debate what is the best movie and worst movie.
Later, you and Cassie started to play Uno but you and Cassie argued about the rules. You and Cassie eat more pizza and tried to play Uno again. Later, you and Cassie watched a movie on the couch, but end up falling asleep.
----
Scott found out what happened, he is in shock. He rushed home and knocked on the door. Cassie opened the door, they start to cry and they hugged each other. You did spend the night at her place, then Cassie introduces you to Scott.
âWait, you're Tonyâs son!?â Scott said.
âYeah, I'm his son,â You said.
âHurt my daughter and I will go after you,â Scott said.
âDad!â Cassie yelled.
âI won't break her heart,â You said.
âI will keep my eye on you, Y/N,â Scott said.
âUGH!â Cassie mumbled.
Later, Scott joined you and Cassie for breakfast.
---
Later, you meet up with Peter to show him your 2020 suit. Peter is loving the suit and asked many questions about how you build your suit. You and Peter worked together to save people.

March 2014
Katie let the scorching hot water cascade down her body, loosening her muscles and washing away the last of the tension from her meeting earlier that day. It had been frustrating, middle aged men in trousers trying to prove who had the longest dicks as per usual until her temper had snapped and sheâd called time on the finance review, and told them to come back in a few days when they had finished trying to see who could piss up the walls the highest.
Pepper had smirked when she had stormed out of the meeting and declared she was flying back to DC and then her smirk had turned to a frown when sheâd seen the look on Katieâs face, instead asking the youngest Stark if she was okay. Truth was she was far from it. She was exhausted having not slept properly for the best part of two weeks now. And the reason for the lack of sleep was that for the first time since sheâd started dating Steve, theyâd been snapped out on a date and the offending photos splashed all over the internet.
Her flight in from DC had been smooth and, feeling rather refreshed actually all things considered, Katie clutched her coffee as she walked down the corridor, her Louboutins clicking on the tiles as she pressed her palm to the door and strode into the publishing office. She glanced around, nodding to a few people as she made her way to her office, frowning as she felt eyes following her. She turned her head over her shoulder and saw one of the junior admin assistants hastily avert their gaze. She paused for a moment before she shook her head, walking into her office and dropping her purse on her desk. No sooner had she done that, than JARVIS spoke.
âMiss Stark.â âMorning J.â âMr Stark has asked you pop up to see him.â âTell him to come here. Iâm busy.â
âHe said you would say that. He told me to tell you itâs important and he doesnât want people listening in. Heâs waiting in his office.â With a groan she grabbed her coffee and walked back the way she had come, ignoring the glances that were coming her way before heading to the elevator and selecting the floor that housed Tonyâs office.
âWhat do you want?â She demanded as she walked into his office, to see Tony and Happy both looking at something on the screen.
âGood morning to you too, Sunshine!â Tony quipped and Katie let out an angry noise.
âTony, Iâve got meetings all day. I have a potential author coming in at twelve soâŠâ Tony waved his hand and the screen he was looking at projected the image onto the holodisplay in front of her and her eyes widened. It was a photo of her and Steve sat in her car in the middle of a deep kiss. Steveâs hand was cupping her cheek as hers was tangled in his hair, and she knew exactly when it had been taken, the previous night when theyâd been out on a date. Steve had been called right in the middle of their evening for an urgent mission so their meal had been cut short and sheâd dropped him home and he was kissing her goodbye.
âShit.â She groaned, and looked at Tony who grinned and shrugged.
âYeah, you got papped.â He explained before he paused. âActually papped isnât the right word seeing as it wasnât a professional photographer, they know now to not even bother. This was some member of the public. First we saw was when our daily Social Media monitoring reports picked it up.â
âAre there anymore?â
âA few.â He said, flicking through the photos which basically were snapped in succession. There was one of them breaking from the kiss, Steve pressing his head to hers, then pecking her lips again, before climbing out of the car.
âCan we get rid of them?â
âOh yeah.â Tony waved a hand. âWe already deployed the algorithm, usual stuffâŠand I tracked down the person who took the original shot and offered him an obscene amount of money to hand over the rights. At first he wasnât going to do it, but then I told him it was that or I fired a virus straight down the line to blow up his phone.â Katie rolled her eyes âAnd he believed you could actually do that?â Happy shrugged âWell, we can in a way. Maybe not the blowing up bit butâŠâ âThing is we donât know how far this has gone.â Tony shrugged âWe can keep the photo off the net but, well, it was already trending when we saw it.â âUnder what?â
Tony grinned and waved his hand, revealing the hashtag.
âStark Spangled Man?â Katie groaned âJesus Christ.â
âYeah, I was tempted to leave it just for that tag.â Tony mused and Katie rubbed at her temple.
âIf the guys at SHIELD have seen thisâŠâ
âAlready had the Goth Pirate on the phone.â Tony shrugged âTold him Iâd deal with it. Itâs not like the public didnât know you two areâŠyou know.â
âHas Steve seen it?â
âHow the fuck should I know?â Tony looked at her âHeâs your boyfriend. You ask him.â
âI canât, heâs on a mission and itâs radio silence.â She bit her lip and ran her hand through her hair. âI canât see him being particularly pleased about it.â âMaybe he shouldnât have been eating your face in the front of your car then.â Tony shrugged.
âOh piss off.â Katie snapped at her brother, who simply raised his eyebrow, smirking slightly.
âKiddo, we can stop the photos.â Happy looked at her, âBut the comments and tweets, itâs a huge job andâŠâ âYeah I know justâŠâ She shrugged âOh whatever, theyâll get bored eventually. Just make sure no fucking trashy tabloids get hold of it.â Thankfully they hadnât. But the comments on social media had continued for a week. Most of them were actually pretty nice, saying it was cute and they made a nice couple. Some of them not so nice, commenting on Katieâs appearance and the like, not that she gave a fuck. Sheâd dealt with comments like that before, knowing full well it came from a place of jealousy most of the time, what she was struggling with, however, was the fact she hadnât managed to speak to Steve about it at all.
How he was going to react was worrying her a little. A general interest in their relationship was a risk they knew they were running, having gone public in December at the New Yearsâ Eve gala, but up until that point they had been lucky. They were also careful in that when they were out, they kept to quiet places as much as possible and, as Steve wasnât huge on public displays of affection in general (holding hands and the odd quick kiss being as far as he went), there wasnât really anything of interest to pap. Until that night. And it wasnât just the social media side of things. The gossip at the tower had also pissed her off. It was like some huge secret had been revealed which wasnât the case. The fact they were dating was public knowledge, but it was more the fact that people had seen the photo in the way they had and she felt like it was undermining her authority at work, which is what had contributed to her lack of sleep and her outburst earlier that day.
With a heavy sigh, she turned around and let her face soak in the stream one last time, then she turned off the water, stepped out and grabbed a towel before she headed back into her room.
Steve had been gone for three weeks now, on an undercover mission. Something to do with some guy planning to flood the US with dirty drugs. She didnât know much, no longer being at SHIELD she wasnât party to the secrets and, despite the fact Fury was actually pretty good at keeping her as updated as he could, she always felt stressed and anxious when he was away, not knowing if he was okay. It had been easier when she had been an Agent herself, something which made her sometimes question her decision to quit.
Especially on days like today, with meetings like that one.
Having dried off, she pulled on a pair of leggings before tossing one of Steveâs hoodies on which still vaguely smelt of him and quickly blasted her hair with the hair-drier, letting the waves naturally set before she wandered into the living room. It was nearing dinner time, and she couldnât be bothered to cook, intending instead to indulge herself in a bottle of wine and a pizza from Seconds.
The pizza arrived when she was halfway through the bottle of wine and by the time sheâd had her fill, sheâd finished said bottle. She was just on her way to grab another when her phone rang, the familiar sounds of âOnly One In Colourâ hitting her ears, which was the tone she attributed to just one person.
She hastily ran back to the living and grabbed her phone which was on the sofa cushion, smiling as she saw the photo of her and Steve filling the screen.
âHey!â she said a little breathlessly and she heard a chuckle on the other side.
âAm I glad to hear your voiceâ Her soldier spoke and she felt herself tearing up.
âMe too.â She sighed, taking a deep breath âI take it the mission is done?â
âYeah, took a little longer than we thought. Iâm sorry I havenât been able to call,Doll.â
âItâs okayâ She smiled, âWhen are you home?â
âYeah, about that.â He said softly, and she took a deep breath, bracing herself for bad news before he spoke again, a playful quality to his soothing voice. âLook out the window, Baby girl.â
Katie felt a huge grin cross her face as that could only mean one thing. In a flash she yanked open the doors that led to her balcony and ran out, peering over the edge. And there he was, in all his glory, waving up at her from where he sat on his bike.
âWhat you down there for?â She teased as she looked down.
âWeâre going for a ride, Doll.â He replied simply and she grinned.
âIâll be right down.â
âThree minutes. Captains Orders.â He shot back and she turned and headed back into her penthouse.
âI love it when you get all masterfulâ
âI know.â He gave a little laugh. âNow hurry up.â
She cut the call and headed quickly into her bedroom, pulling off the hoody and exchanging it instead for a long cashmere sweater that finished mid-thigh. It had been a gift from Steve not long before he had left and she knew he loved it on her. It was a deep green colour- âIt matches your eyes, Dollâ- The fabric was soft, and the turtle neck line scooped slightly so that you could see a flash of her collar bone at either side of her neck. She cinched the waist in with a tan belt and shoved her feet into a pair of matching ankle boots. Grabbing her biker jacket and her helmet, she grabbed her keys and ran to the elevator. Â
She emerged onto the street and stopped as Steve turned to face her. She gave herself a second to take him in, scanning his dark jeans, white t-shirt and open jacket all set off with a distressed leather belt and matching boots, before she gave a squeal and ran towards him. Steve stood up off his bike and strode towards her, meeting her halfway as she threw herself into his arms.
âHey.â He whispered softly, his face pressing into her hair as her legs circled his waist. âGod I missed you.â âMissed you too.â She mumbled, before she pulled back and pressed a kiss to his lips. âLike, really missed you.â
And then she suddenly became conscious they were in the street. She threw a glance around, looking for any sly public amateur photographers and Steve frowned, spotting her change in demeanour.
âSweetheart, whatâs wrong?â
âNothing.â She looked at him as he set her on her feet, his hands on her waist. âLetâs get out of here.â
He didnât press her further, simply led her back to the bike and she swung her legs over the back, clipping the straps of her helmet into place. He settled in front of her and she laced her arms around his waist, under his jacket as he fired up the bike with a roar. Steve took another glance over his shoulder, her eyes visible through the visor of her helmet and they were shining with excitement. Flashing her a smile he turned round and set the bike off, heading up the street.
He drove the familiar route to Rock Creek and after half an hour or so pulled the bike to a halt in the spot he always parked at, a hidden little clearing just off the main parking lot. It was deserted due to the hour, which suited him fine. Cutting the engine he felt Katie shift behind him and he set the stand on the bike before he turned to see his girl taking her helmet off. She fluffed her hair out slightly and then grinned at him as he patted the space between his legs. She jumped off the bike, hung her helmet over the handlebars before she climbed back up, this time facing Steve, her back to the handlebars of the bike.
The little wooded area was dark, bar the moon shining through the lattice of leaves above them and Katie took a deep breath, inhaling the rich scent of pine needles, fresh air and the slight smell of the early spring flowers. The babbling of the brook was loud in the quiet of night providing them with a little background noise as Steve reached out, his hands cupping her face as he drew her to him. Katie closed her eyes, allowing him to take the lead as his tongue slid across her bottom lip and she opened her mouth slightly, his movements smooth and graceful as he kissed her passionately before he pulled away, her bottom lip caught between both of his. He released it gently, pressing his forehead to hers, their noses bumping together slightly.
âWhatâs on your mind?â He asked her quietly. Katie sighed, and looked down at his long legs which were stretched towards her. Leaning her own legs forward, she hooked her calves around his, the denim of his jeans rustling as it bushed against her leggings. Her hands dropped to his knees and she ran them up the outside of his thighs, her fingers skating the strong muscles as they stretched the fabric of his dark blue Leviâs slightly. âKatie?â he asked again and she took a deep breath before she reached for her phone in the pocket of her jacket.
âSomeone papped us, well I say papped, it was more some nosey bastard member of the publicâŠâ she sighed, scrolling through to the photo. She handed it to him and he took it from her, fingers brushing hers gently. He glanced down at it and after a second he screwed up his face and let out a breath from his nose.
âCrap.â He muttered before he handed her phone back and looked at her, rolling his eyes.
âTony managed to get rid of it from the net butâŠâ She shrugged âItâs been a pain in the ass, Steve. All the fucking mumbled little comments in the office andâŠâ She rubbed her neck slightly âNot being able to warn you either.â
âWarn me?â He cocked his head to one side. âAbout what?â
âThe fact you were all over the internet eating my face.â She shrugged and he gave a snort of laughter âDidnât want you walking back into base and being blindsided. I know youâre not big into PDAs and I figured if the guys from STRIKE got hold of it, hell, if Nat got hold of itâŠâ
âDoll, I couldnât care less.â
Katie looked at him, blinking âYou donât?â
âNo, well, I mean itâs not great but, well, Iâm more pissed that you got a hard time in the office about it.â
âNothing I canât handle.â She shrugged, before she grinned. âIf they carry on I can just fire them all.â Steve chuckled, his hands dropping to hers as he laced their fingers together. âBet Tony had a field day.â âYeah, he thought it was pretty funny, especially the hashtag it was all trending under.â âWhich was?â
âStark Spangled Man.â She raised an eyebrow. Steve paused for a second before he tipped his head back, his broad chest and shoulders shaking with the force of his laughter before he shook his head and peeked up at her slightly. âTen outta Ten for imagination, huh?â
âWell, theyâre not wrong.â He said simply, his hands leaving hers and they slid under her ass as he pulled her forward so she was straddling his lap. âI am completely and utterly Stark SpangledâŠâ
âI never wanna hear you say that ever again.â Katie narrowed her eyes as her hands slid up his arms coming to rest on the firm planes of his chest just below his collar bone.
âNo?â He asked gently, his hands splaying on her back gently underneath her jacket.
âNot unless you want me to start singing an amended version of your chorus song.â She grinned.
âShut up.â âMake me.â She retorted, a childish tone to her voice and arched an eyebrow as he looked up at her.
âBrat.â He mumbled, his hand sliding up to her neck, pulling her face to his. The kiss was fierce, his lips warm on hers, the familiar tingle spreading up her spine making her shiver slightly and a soft moan escaped her mouth to his and she felt his lips curl into a smirk against hers before they moved gently from her mouth to her jaw line. He peppered soft, warm and wet pecks down her neck before he gently moved her sweater to the side a little more, exposing more of her shoulder.
The feel of his mouth on her skin was electric, and Katie let her head fall back, eyes closing as Steveâs hands splayed on her back, holding her in position as he kissed every inch of her skin he could find. Her breath caught in her throat and she swallowed, thickly as he paused his fingers digging into her back.
âYouâre not wearing a bra.â He mumbled.
âNot wearing any panties either.â She said softly and he pulled back to look at her, a groan escaping his mouth.
âYouâre killing me, Doll.â âWell I was in my comfy stuff and you gave me three minutes to get ready.â She shrugged âCaptainâs orders, remember?â
âBecause you always do exactly what I tell you.â He said sarcastically, looking at her with those baby blues which were now a dark midnight shade through desire.
âWhen it counts I do.â She smirked, rolling her hips, pushing down on his crotch. He hissed slightly, his hands gripping her tighter as he bit his lip. Steve took a look round the deserted clearing and his attention turned back to her, his eyes challenging.
âDonât start something youâre not gonna finish, Sweetheart.â He warned her sternly, his voice low and the tone he spoke with had her twitching even more. She wasnât one to back down to a challenge, and he knew that, but despite the fact she knew he was playing games, she simply smirked and her hands slid down his chest to his belt, fingers making short work of the buckle before she moved her attentions to the button on his jeans, popping them easily before she slid down the zipper.
âWho says I wasnât gonna finish it?â She shrugged, as her hand worked into his boxers and wrapped her palm around his warm cock and he gave a low moan, his head falling back as she began to work him.
Katie simply watched his face, his soft lips parting slightly, eyes fluttering shut. Long lashes lay against his rosy cheeks, his Adamâs apple bobbed and he gulped slightly when her movements and grip grew stronger. His eyes opened and locked onto hers, his pupils completely lust blown, speckles of moonlight reflecting in them gave her the impression she was looking at the starry sky and he leaned up and pressed his lips to hers in another hungry kiss, their teeth clashing slightly. She felt the heat pooling between her legs as his hands slid under the side of her long sweater, fingers gripping her skin tightly as he squirmed underneath her.
Katie moved her hand more rapidly, loving the effect she had on him. The fact she could undo the stoic, taciturn Captain in matter of minutes was a fucking turn on and she grinned as he buried his face into her neck as she alternated between fast and hard, long and slow strokes. She felt him attempt to thrust desperately into her palm as he let out a low sigh of her name and she tilted his face back to hers with her spare hand and captured his mouth in a hard kiss as she gave him another slow stroke. At that, clearly done with the teasing, he growled into her mouth, standing up suddenly, spinning her round so her back was pressed to his chest. Katie let out a squeak of surprise as one hand kept her supported easily as it hooked over the front of her chest, the other pulling down one side of her leggings then the other. He sat back down, pulling her over him and in a single thrust upwards had buried himself inside her.
The sudden intrusion made Katie cry out as she felt him fill her, and once he was fully seated and she was stuffed as full as possible, he began to thrust upwards, controlling the speed completely. Her thighs were tight around him, and she was powerless to spread her legs apart much as they were clamped together thanks to the fact her leggings were bunched round her ankles, restricting her movement. Instead, she leaned back, arching her back, head falling to his shoulder, shifting the angle slightly which allowed him to drive up into her even deeper. His hands moved, sliding up her sweater to cup her breasts and as he gently tugged on her nipples she gave a loud wail as the sensation speared through her and she pushed down as hard as she could, rotating her hips slightly. Steveâs breath was hot on her ear as he pulled her down with every thrust up that he made, grinding right up against her spot.
âSuch a needy little thing, aint youâŠâ he said, his voice low and punctuated by his heavy breathing and she gave a low keen as he nipped at her neck, his fingers tugging her nipples harder.
â3 weeks SteveâŠâ she panted, and he gave a dirty chuckle, pushing up again, bottoming out completely. It was a movement he repeated again and again, his mouth chaining kisses to her neck. One hand moved down from her chest, calloused fingers brushing lightly against her skin, over her stomach, and she shivered at his touch as he gently reached the spot between her legs. As he pushed up again he gently rubbed against her clit and she cried out, her head falling forwards slightly before his other hand moved upwards, gently wrapping around her neck as he pulled her back, his hand turning her face to his where he caught her mouth in a sloppy kiss.
The feeling of being manhandled like that, in the open air, one hand between her legs, the other round her neck, his cock thrusting slowly against her spot was almost too much, and she groaned, writhing on his lap, her mouth falling open, and when she finally found her voice it was raspy as she struggled to form her words.
âPlease, SteveâŠI needâŠâ her hand grasped the wrist which was between her legs, trying to speed him up. He looked down at her, his face contorted in a mix of pleasure and concentration, sweat beading on his brow.
âYeah?â
âYeah.â she nodded, and his fingers picked up their pace as did his hips. Her legs shuddered slightly as she felt the white, hot heat rising in her belly and she let out a low cry of his name.
âCome on, Doll.â he murmured, âCum for me, Sweetheart.â And she did, with a force so intense she couldnât stop herself letting out a loud âFuckâ as she shuddered, the world fading to dark around her, as the waves of pleasure racked her entire body.
âShit, Katie.â Steve stuttered, his thrusts growing erratic as be bit down gently on her shoulder and he came with a groan, his hips slowing to an eventual stop as he sagged forward a little, forehead buried against her shoulder.
They stayed still for a while, the silence of their surroundings bar the trickle of the stream providing a soothing background as they both recovered themselves. Katie tilted her head round to look at him. His expression was dazed, mouth open in supplication and she loved seeing him so utterly wrecked. A fresh fucked Steve was the most beautiful thing in the world to her. All golden haired, slack jawed, kiss swollen lips and long eyelashes framing that stunningly handsome face. Taking a deep breath, Steve pressed a soft kiss to her neck before he cracked his eyes open and gave her that beautiful smile she lived for.
âFor the record,â she hummed into his mouth as she captured his lips in a small kiss. âIâm well aware you totally just played me.â
He gave a soft chuckle and looked up at her, his blue eyes sparkling âGuilty as charged.â His hands ran up her sides underneath her sweater, fingers gently trailing down her ribs. âBut I did tell you we were going for a ride.â

Peter Parker had admired Tony Stark since he was a little boy. In the beginning, it had been hero-worshipping. Iron Man was a legend, and the man behind the mask even more. Peter had bought little action figures, had decorated his walls with posters, and watched every single interview on TV. Tony Stark was an impressive Alpha, broad shoulders, protective aura and Peter had never understood why he had wasted his time with Pepper Potts, a plain and boring Beta.
But the older Pete got, the more obsessed he became. He spent his mornings looking at photos of Iron Man online, fingering himself while he pictured the Alphaâs muscular arms caging him in. The day Tony left Pepper was one of the best in Peterâs life and he had imagined for weeks how he would cheer the billionaire up, imagined that he could replace the empty space in Tony Starkâs heart.
During his first heat, Peter refused the help of an Alpha. He had plenty of options, eager young students that wanted to wreck such an innocent-looking Omega, but Peter wanted to save himself for Iron Man. No one else deserved his virginity, so he made do with his own fingers, thinking about himself bouncing on Tony Starkâs cock.
Years passed and Peterâs obsession only grew. He got older, became even more handsome, even more fragile looking and lots of Alphas tripped over their feet to woo Peter Parker, cutest Omega in Queens. But he turned all of them down. There was only one Alpha, only one person good enough for him.
Sadly, Peter had never met Tony Stark before. He had imagined how their first encounter would go, how easily he could enchant the Alpha with his soft looks and innocent eyes. He worked years to get finally close to the other man. Peter invested his entire energy into studying and became soon the best of his class. With fifteen, he graduated high school and applied to MIT. Three years later, he hadnât only gotten his bachelorâs degree, he also held a letter of Stark Industries in his hands. Soon, he would be the youngest intern in the history of SI, soon he would be close to Mr. Stark.
Peter knew it was very unlikely he would meet the billionaire on his first day of work, but he was disappointed, nevertheless. A boring Alpha had shown him around, drooling over Peter and it took all his willpower to hold back his disdain. Instead, he had smiled sweetly and asked questions to appear interested. He needed a plan to get closer to Mr. Stark and before that, he shouldnât do anything he could regret later.
His approach to get closer was based on his intelligence. Tony had once said during an interview that he preferred his partners smart and witty, and Peter planned to use the information. He stayed in the lab longer than everyone else, worked harder and harder to get the recognition he needed until one day, he finally got the opportunity he desperately needed.
Everything started when Pepper Potts, still Tonyâs CEO, entered the lab, loudly arguing with an unimportant Alpha at her side. Peter had wanted to hate her first, but she was still one of Tonyâs closest friends, and there was no way the Alpha would like him if Peter displeased her. After a while, he could even see that Pepper had no more romantic feelings for Tony, and his instincts to fight her were eased a little.
âWe donât need it in a week,â Pepper yelled and the pathetic excuse of an Alpha flinched. âWe need it tomorrow. And thereâs no way Tony can fix it until tomorrow. The investors are gonna pull back their offers.â
Peter pretended to be busy while he was actually eavesdropping. âI-Iâm sorry, M-Mrs. Potts,â the Alphaâs voice was wavering, and Peter suppressed a snort. How could Pepper give responsibilities to such a weakling? âI told him a week ago, but he didnât listen.â
Pepper was slowly losing her temper. âYou told him once while he was tinkering. What did you expect? Him throwing everything aside to listen to you.â
âIâm sorry.â Peter wouldnât wonder if the Alpha started to cry.
âYouâre sorry? You're not the one explaining to the investors why the battery of the Stark Phone explodes occasionally. I have to live with the consequences.â Pepper fumed and Peter had to admit that she was feisty, for a Beta. âWhen the temperature is above ninety degrees, they sometimes blow up. Do you think the investors will like this?â
Peter froze. He didnât focus on the Alpha flinching under her harsh words anymore, instead he thought about Pepperâs words. He knew about the problems with the Stark Phone, knew for a long time they would explode if they got too hot. Peter had assumed someone had already eliminated the mistake, but apparently, no one had. Suddenly, his entire body started buzzing. He knew how to get rid of the problem and this was his chance to get what he wanted.
âI know why they explode, and I could help eliminating the issue.â Pepper and the Alpha were staring at him, Pepper with curiosity and the Alpha with disgust.
âI donât think an Omega could help,â the Alpha belittled him, and Peter clenched his hands to fist to stop his anger from spilling. He had to stay calm and play his cards right.
Thankfully, Pepper took over before Peter did anything he would regret later. âSince youâve fucked up anyway, Iâm willing to try everything to fix this thing.â Peter couldnât stop himself from smirking at the Alpha. âWhatâs your name.â
âPeter Parker, Maâam.â
âPeter, Iâll give you a few minutes with Tony. If you convince him you can fix the mistake, weâll pay you a bonus.â
Oh, if she knew. A few minutes with Tony Stark were so much more valuable for him than any extra cash. This was everything he had ever dreamed of. Five minutes to convince Tony Stark that he was worth spending time with. Suddenly, Peter felt nervous. The direction of his entire life would depend on the encounter with the billionaire and he would do anything to make a good impression on the Alpha.
He smiled kindly at Pepper and followed her to the elevator. She was tense and stressed out, but he could also see the hope in her eyes. If he did everything right, she would be forever thankful and thatâs exactly what he needed from her. Her first impression of him was important.
Tony Starkâs lab was impressive. It was nothing compared to the intern lab Peter worked in, even though all of SIâs rooms were well equipped. The Omega swallowed when he entered the room and marveled at the expensive equipment that was scattered all over the floor. From a hidden spot in the corner, Peter could hear a loud crash followed by a few curse words.
âTony, come out for a second,â Pepper called the genius and Peter held his breath when the Alpha approached them.
He was handsome, even more handsome than he was in the million pictures that were all over the internet. Tony was wearing jeans and a black tank top, his muscular arms on display. Peter could barely stop himself from purring and he ogled the oil strains on the billionaireâs forearms. Tony Stark looked like a model from the cover of âAlphaâs Healthâ and Peter wanted nothing more than to claim the man as his. But there was still a long way to go.
Suppressing his arousal, Peter smiled innocently at the Alpha and ducked his head. The gesture was a submissive one, giving Tony the illusion, he was in control. Peter watched in excitement that Tony was looking him up and down, his pupils dilating a little. He could see a faint gleam in the billionaireâs eyes, making it obvious that the man liked what he saw.
âAs much as I like lovely company, Peps, why are you bringing me a young Omega? I have to work on the Stark Phone issue.â The words made Peter heat up in arousal and he covered his body reaction with an innocent blush. He wanted to jump the billionaire, wanted to ride him, claim him and bounce on his knot, but he would be nothing more than an easy fling if he misplayed the situation. Instead, he focused on looking bashfully.
âTony, this is Peter Parker. Heâs one of our new interns,â Pepper explained while she was already halfway leaving the room. âIâm sorry, but he claims he knows the source of the problem with the phones and at the moment, we need any help we could get.â
Before Tony could assume that he was a stupid Omega with attention issues, Peter took the lead. âIt was very thoughtful of Miss Potts to bring me here. Iâve actually detected the mistake a few weeks ago and just assumed someone had already fixed it. My apologies.â
âThatâs my cue,â Pepper barged in, giving the billionaire no time to complain. âI actually have a call scheduled with the investors. Iâll pick Mr. Parker up in an hour. Donât kill him, Tony.â
The Alpha grumbled when she left, and Peter took a deep breath to get his nerves back under control. This was it. This was the moment he had always waited for. The Tony Stark stood in front of him and if he made a fool out of himself now, there was no chance for his plan to ever work out. He had to be clever, smart, and irresistible.
Peter gave him another sweet smile and the bobbing of Tonyâs throat showed him that he should try the innocent approach further. The billionaire was certainly reacting to him acting bashfully.
âAll right, Peter.â The Alpha didnât even ask if he was allowed to use his first name. âIâm pretty busy, but Iâll give you a chance to show me where the problem is coming from.â
These words coming from any other Alpha would have offended Peter, but since he was talking to Tony Stark, he let the casual use of his first name slip. This was his chance to prove himself and he wouldnât sabotage his goals because someone was underestimating him. He would show the billionaire what he had worked for.
âDo you have a Stark Phone here?â Tony nodded and led him to the other end of the lab where the billionaire had been before. Peter used the time to get a good look at his ass. It was muscular and round, perfect to dig his nails into when Stark was fucking him through the mattress. The thought made Peter shiver and he took a deep breath, containing himself and focused on the task on hand.
âThe solution is pretty simple,â Peter explained while he stepped next to the Alpha in front of the workbench. He came a little too close, so Tony would pick up a hint of his scent. Peter knew Alphaâs went wild for his smell, he had tons of unworthy men going crazy for him, and he always knew how to use his assets right. Out of the corner of his eyes, Peter could see Tonyâs nostrils flare, clearly not unaffected from the scent, but otherwise, the Alpha stayed calm.
Before he could lose himself further in the thought, Peter picked up the faulty Stark Phone and opened the case with a small screwdriver. He disconnected a few wires to take out the battery and laid the electronics of the phone open.
âIâve actually detected it when I was working on increasing the storage capacity. Do you see the solder joint here? First of all, itâs too big and the material was a bad choice. When it gets hot, the solder joint will melt again and possibly cause a short circuit. Thatâs the reason why the battery can but doesnât have to blow up when the phone gets too hot.â
Tony stared at him amazed before he threw back his head and started laughing. The sound was deep and full, rushing immediately into Peterâs cock and he had to bite his own lips to stop his hole from slicking up. There was no way the Alpha wouldnât notice him getting wet and it wasnât the time for his seduction plan yet.
âThatâs pretty embarrassing,â the billionaire chuckled and grinned at him. âSuch a rookie mistake. Whoever made the mistake should go back to school immediately.â
Peter swallowed and chose his next words wisely. He had certainly made an impression on the Alpha, but it wasnât good enough to linger. âMr. Stark, Sir. If I might suggest an improvement?â
He could see surprise in Tonyâs gaze, but also curiosity. âSure, go along.â
âWhat if you replace the battery in a few Stark Phones with your arc reactor technology? Obviously not for every model because the price would increase significantly, but there are a lot of rich people who want to contribute a part to the environment. Your clean energy in a phone is an amazing solution. And on top, the board would get accustomed to your invention, as well as the shareholders. It would be an easy possibility to establish the arc technology.â
The Alpha didnât say anything. He stared at Peter and the Omega could see that he was pondering about it. He had done a lot of research about the billionaire and he knew Tony was fighting with the approval of the board since he had closed the weapon manufacture. Nothing was more important to him than to prove that SI was a valuable company even without the shady business, and Peter had given him a suggestion to strengthen the reputation of his arc technology.
âIâll consider it,â Tony answered, and Peter smiled bashfully, pleased that he had played his cards right. He wouldnât hear anything more than that today, but he had proven his first point: Peter was smart enough for Tony Stark. Now there was only one other goal: Show Tony Stark that he was irresistible.
Peter congratulated himself for his subtlety. After the billionaire had made a few calls and yelled at a few people to change the solder point of the phone, there was still half an hour left until Pepper would come back to pick him up. He spent the time chatting with Peter and showing him some of his inventions while the Omega could physically see that Tony reacted to him.
Every time he blushed and batted his eyelids, Starkâs eyes sparkled; every time he played with his curls, Starkâs expression was filled with hunger. Peter made a game out of it, acting all bashful and innocent while he bent over low to pick up the screwdriver he had accidentally dropped. He had years of experience, manipulating Alphas he didnât even care about, but today was the day it had to work. Today was the day Tony Stark would be enchanted.
They talked about engineering and their studies at MIT. Tony had more experiences, but since Peter had done a ton of research on Tony Starkâs work, he could easily keep up. With each passing minute, the billionaire relaxed further and further in his company and when Pepper picked the Omega up again, Tony had even given him his private number, promising to call Peter when he needed his help again.
Peter felt like a spider and he would do anything to catch Tony Stark in his web. The Alpha was his.
Now that Tony Stark knew who Peter was, things got easier. He didnât need to make an effort for the manâs attention anymore since the Alpha was staring at him anyway when they saw each other fleetingly. Instead, Peter focused on riling the man up. He knew a few minutes every day would be enough if the impression lingered.
The most important step was to meet the billionaire overall. Peter worked in the intern lab on the second floor while Tonyâs lab was right next to his penthouse, so they wouldnât see each other accidentally. And since Peter wasnât even allowed to enter the top floor, he had to think about a plan that forced the Alpha to come down. When he overheard one of the board members complaining about Tonyâs mood because his coffee machine was broken, Peter got an idea.
The Omega came to work early, so no one had arrived yet. The lab was empty, the hallways were empty, and even more important, the kitchen was empty as well. He tiptoed to the coffee machine and exhaled relieved when no one was there yet. Quickly, Peter replaced the cheap beans with Hawaiian brew and from now on, he spent his breaks drinking expensive coffee in the kitchen, waiting until the rumors about the amazing coffee spread. Not even a day later, Peter saw Tony again.
âPeter, what are you doing here?â Everyone was looking at the Omega when the Tony Stark addressed him by his first name.
âMr. Stark,â Peter gave him his sweetest smile that made all the Alphas swoon. âIâm working on this floor.â
Tony looked startled for a second, he had probably forgotten that Peter was only an intern. âRight. What are you working on?â Although the billionaire was talking to Peter, he eyed all the other Alphas in the room. A surge of hot arousal rushed through Peterâs body, but he pushed the feeling away before everyone could smell his slick. Seeing the Alpha already so possessive over him woke the urge to smirk and climb him like a tree.
âStill on the storage capacity of the Stark Phone. Iâve made progress, but itâs slow because I donât have enough resources.â He batted his eyes innocently, acting as if he wasnât following a goal. Say it, Alpha. Come on, offer it to me.
âYou can use my lab if you want,â Tony offered, and Peter had to suppress a complacent smirk. It was so easy to manipulate Alphas as long as he acted sweet and innocent.
Peter opened his eyes widely and feigned shock. âBut Mr. Stark, I canât accept the offer. I would only distract you.â You want it too. Say it, Alpha.
âNonsense, itâs spacious enough. Letâs go upstairs.â
Tony led him out of the room, his hand placed on Peterâs back. He could feel the heat through his shirt and enjoyed the first victory of the day, knowing that he had Tony Stark exactly where he wanted him. All eyes followed them, Alphas envious that Tony Stark had snatched the cute looking Omega away, and the rest envious that Peter could leave with Tony Stark. Peter felt euphoric, everything went according to plan and it was only a matter of days until the Alpha was his, until the country's most eligible bachelor was wrapped around his little finger.
Although Peter wanted nothing more than to throw himself at the man, he took it slowly. Tony might show signs of arousal, ogling Peter, and his scent turned spicier, more masculine, but the time wasnât right yet. Peter needed him crazy with arousal, so he kept acting innocent while he stepped up the game.
It started with his scent. Every morning Peter would finger himself, spread his slick between his thighs, and clean himself after, but a hint of his arousal was still lingering in his scent, driving the Alpha crazy with lust. Additionally, he changed his clothes, subtly of course. His jeans got tighter, his shirts shorter and he bent over the workbench more often, showing off his plump ass and a stripe of his bare back. He could feel Tonyâs eyes on him, could feel that the Alpha got wound up, but he didnât snap. Yet.
On top of showing off his assets, Peter also controlled their conversations carefully. He demonstrated subtly his intelligence, talked about topics he knew Tony was interested in, and lured the billionaire in by admiring him and his skills. He didnât even have to act it because there was no one like Tony Stark out there, no other Alpha that clever and strong. Peter had long ago decided that the genius was his.
Every day they spent together in the lab, Tony loosened up more, until he was completely relaxed around Peter, defenseless against the Omegaâs attack. He got trapped more and more in Peterâs web, caught in the seduction of his body and mind, until one day, the Omega made his move.
It started with the first time Tony called him.
âPeter? I have a problem.â His voice was higher than usual, stressed out and Peterâs guts clenched with the thought that his Alpha felt bad. âI know you donât work today, but I have a board meeting in an hour, and I canât leave the palladium mixture alone. It has to keep its temperature. Could you help me out? Pretty please?â
No one could blame Peter, really, Tony gave him the perfect excuse. He didnât need an hour to get there, but the billionaire didnât have to know. âIâm on my way, but I donât have time to change. Could you maybe let me in through the back door? I donât want my colleagues to see me in my free time clothes.â
Either Tony was just naĂŻve, or totally stressed out because he didnât suspect anything, relieved Peter could jump in. âI owe you one, Peter. See you soon.â
After Tony had hung up, Peter changed into his nicest lingerie, put on his shortest booty shorts, and a tight crop top that showed a glimpse of his stomach below the hem. He was dressed decently enough that Tony wouldnât get suspicious, but he revealed enough skin to drive the Alpha wild.
Before he left his apartment, Peter grabbed an oversized jean jacket to cover at least a little of his modesty. Then he took the subway to Stark Industries. He knew today was the day. Tony was exhausted and Peter would use it to make his first strike. If today worked out, Tony Stark was his.
The elevator that brought him to Tonyâs lab was at the backside of SI, so none of his co-workers got the chance to see him dressed like this. Peter smiled while JARVIS took him upstairs. Everything worked out exactly how he had planned it, now he only had to lure the billionaire in.
Tonyâs gaze traveled immediately to Peterâs bare thighs when the Omega entered the lab. Raw hunger was written on his face, poorly concealed. It took Peter his entire willpower not to smirk, the Alpha was already yearning for him. He turned around, took off his jacket, and laid it folded on the floor in the corner of the lab, making sure to bend low and present his barely covered ass. He could hear the billionaire curse quietly, a sound of pent-up arousal and longing.
âIâm so sorry,â Peter whimpered when he faced the billionaire again, his eyes huge and innocent. âI know Iâm not dressed appropriately, but I didnât have time to change, or I couldnât have been here on time.â
He could see how Tony swallowed, guilt about his inappropriate feelings bringing him back to reality. The billionaireâs guards were down, stress was taking its toll, and Peter knew persuading would be even easier when the billionaire came back since he was already on the verge of giving in now. And the best, Tony didnât even know what Peter was doing.
âWhat can I do for you?â Peter asked a little breathless, but not too much to raise suspicion. He came closer, invading Tonyâs personal space to lean over the workbench and inspect what the billionaire was experimenting on.
The Alpha cleared his throat, taking a few seconds to gain back his control. âIâm experimenting with the arch technology and I have to increase the temperature of the palladium by one degree every ten minutes until it starts to melt. If I heat it too fast, it could get brittle and I have to go to the meeting. Could you take care of it? Could you heat it slowly until it starts to melt and decant it into the intended test tube after?â
Peter smiled at him, genuine and stunning. âOf, course, Alpha- I mean, Mr. Stark, Sir.â The slip was intended, and Peter could see with giddy excitement what the word did to the genius. Tonyâs pupils enlarged immediately, and a barely audible rumble left his chest.
âI count on you, Peter.â The billionaire gave him a smile, half predatory, and half ashamed while he walked towards the door. âIâm back in two hours.â When the door closed behind him, Peter could finally smirk.
Taking care of Tonyâs experiment didnât take much effort. JARVIS was increasing the temperature on his own, and Peter only had to decant the palladium into the test tube once the palladium started to melt, so he was basically just sitting around, waiting for the billionaire to come back. As soon as Tony would enter the room, exhausted and relieved that Peter took care of his experiment, the Omega would make his final move. But before, he had to up his game one last time.
Peter walked over to a chair in the back of the lab, close enough to watch the palladium in case something went wrong, but hidden from the door, so Tony wouldnât see him, even if he came back earlier. Carefully, he took out a towel he had brought from home and placed it on the chair, so he wouldnât leave traces behind. Then he pulled down his shorts and panties and spread his legs to get better access.
The first finger was barely a tease, nudging his hole and playing with the muscle until it gave way, until it welcomed the intrusion. Peter moaned slightly when he felt the wet heat, slicking up for an Alpha that wasnât even here. The underlying arousal he had felt for weeks around Tony was flaming up, rushing to the front of his mind, and forcing him to savor the feeling. His instincts were strong, overwhelming, fighting him to use a second finger, to spread himself for his Alpha. But that wasnât Peterâs plan.
Although the anticipation hurt, although he wanted nothing more but to ride his fingers in Tony Starkâs lab, surrounded by the scent of his Alpha, Peter held back. He couldnât come all over the floor, there was no way the Alpha wouldnât notice the heavy smell, and he only wanted to tease. Begrudgingly, Peter pulled out his finger, leaving his hole empty and twitching, begging for an Alpha. A frustrated moan slipped from his lips, but he stood firm.
Carefully not to leave proof of what he had done, Peter opened his bag again and pulled out wet wipes and a plastic bag. He cleaned up all the slick that had leaked out and sealed the plastic bag after he had put the wipes and the towel inside. Now the only smell of his arousal was coming from him, faint enough that no one could suspect he did it on purpose, but strong enough for an Alpha to notice.
JARVISâ voice interrupted his thoughts, announcing that the palladium had reached the melting point and Peter decanted it into the test tube, careful not to spill a drop. Everything was done and all Peter had left to do was wait. When he heard footsteps on the hallway, the Omega bent over the workbench, seemingly invested into his own notes while he presented his ass for his Alphaâs view. Let the game begin.
Tonyâs steps were heavy on the floor, a sign of his exhaustion, and Peterâs guts clenched in anticipation as he waited for the Alpha to notice him. He scribbled in his notebook; equations that looked difficult but were actually meaningless. Everything to appear busy.
âPeter.â Tony was only saying his name, but his voice was so full of suppressed emotions that it trembled a little. The Omega looked over his shoulder, seeing the Alpha standing behind him, his gaze glued to Peterâs barely covered ass. Desire was so clearly written on his face that Peter smiled in victory. He kept staring at the billionaire until Tonyâs gaze wandered slowly up. He looked guilty.
âIâm sorry, that was inappropriate.â Tony still tried to hold himself back, but it got harder and harder the more effort Peter put into seducing him.
Deciding to step up his game even further, Peter propped himself onto his forearms, arching his back into the perfect curve. His expression changed, still innocent, but his eyes became darker, hungrier. He was sick of dancing around the billionaire by now. It was time to make a move.
Tony stepped to the workbench to take a look at the vibranium, but he made sure to keep an appropriate distance between them. Peter couldnât tolerate this. He shuffled closer, masking his attempts by grabbing a pencil.
The moment Tony got a whiff of his scent was clearly visible. Peter could see his nostrils flare, his hands clenched to fists. Omega arousal took over the billionaireâs mind, his instinct screaming at him to take Peter, to mate and breed him. Tonyâs morals crumbled, a fight between what was right and what he wanted, completely unaware that Peter controlled his inner turmoil.
âAre you okay, Mr. Stark?â Peter asked oblivious as he turned around, laying his hand on the billionaireâs biceps while his face was twisted in concern.
âI-Iâm o-okay,â the Alpha was stuttering, so unlike the strong man he usually was, and in this moment, Peter realized, Tony was utterly at his mercy. The thought was heady, a surge of arousal rushing through his body and he felt new slick dripping out of him, wetting the panties he had carefully picked out.
The new smell broke the last resolve of the genius. With a roar, he grabbed Peterâs hip, pulling him close to his body until he could bury the nose against Peterâs neck, nipping on the mating glands where his scent was coming from. Peter shivered. He had wanted this for years, his Alpha crazy for him, losing his control for him and he took as much of Tonyâs domination as he could get.
But as abruptly as the billionaire had snapped, as abruptly he pulled back as well. âIâm so sorry.â Horror was spread on his face, fear that he had taken advantage of the Omega that was too innocent to want this, too pure. Now it was Peterâs time to change his mind.
âShh,â Peter calmed the Alpha down, placing his hand gently on the billionaireâs chest. âI want it, too. Just let go of the doubts. Let me take care of you, Alpha.â
The words were like magic and Tony relaxed in a heartbeat, allowing Peter to push him towards the couch in the back of the lab. He was mainly driven by instincts now, the scent of Peterâs slick enough to drive him crazy, and the Omega fully intended to use it.
Peter pressed the Alpha in the cushions and Tony spread his legs automatically, giving the Omega space between. It was too easy, and Peter settled between Tonyâs legs, kneeling on the carpet in front of him. As much as he liked the game he was playing, his body still forced him to submit to his Alpha, to care for him, so he opened the zipper and pulled out the billionaireâs cock. There was no protest.
Tony was magnificent. He was big, even for Alpha standards, his cock angrily red and already leaking drops of pre-come. Peterâs mouth watered, he wanted to suck it, bounce on it and worship it, but even though the urge was overwhelming, he took his time to appreciate the view. This was his goal, the moment he had worked towards his entire life, and he would make it special. It only takes a blowjob to fall in love, and Tony Stark was already on the verge of falling for him.
Peter watched the Alpha closely when he tentatively touched the hot flesh for the first time. Tony dug his fingernails into the sofa, his entire body tensing with anticipation. He was gorgeous, a picture of barely restrained strength, someone who could protect Peter, who would kill for him. The reaction was fascinating. As strong as Alphas always seems to be, one Omega was enough to take them down.
His fingers danced over Tonyâs cock, caressing him slightly without giving him enough friction to be satisfied. Peter needed him desperately to lose his control, until he would fuck Peterâs mouth and dominate him exactly how the Omega longed for. The thought made him feel powerful, the rush of influencing such a dominant Alpha was fueled his arousal.
Peterâs insides clenched in anticipation when Tony growled frustrated for the first time. âSuck me, Omega.â The Alphaâs voice was deep and firm, his morals crumbling with the need to claim, to dominate.
When Peterâs lips touched Tonyâs cock for the first time, the Alpha moaned. He hadnât even taken him in his mouth, just a slight caress of lips up and down, leaving traces on the thick vein that was pulsing with arousal. Pleasuring the Alpha was everything Peter had ever dreamed of. The smell was musky and addictive, clouding his mind and making him forget his plan. Peter whimpered, his lips still attached to the other man and he caught as much of the scent as possible. He felt calm between the Alphaâs legs, his body and mind in sync.Â
It could only be described as a tease, Peterâs lips sucking and stroking him, coating him with salvia and making him shine. The anticipation built and built, Tony was barely holding himself back, his knuckles white from the attempts to keep his control, but Peter was on the verge of losing it himself. The billionaireâs cock was beautiful, every Omegaâs dream and he had worked for this since he could remember. There was no way he could wait for even a second longer, driven by the need to be closer.
The moment Peterâs lips parted to engulf the billionaireâs cock, Tony lost it. He reached out, tangled his hands in the Omegaâs hair, and forced him down, forced him to swallow the entire length without a break. Peterâs eyes rolled back. He loved the thought that he had riled Tony up enough to make him lose control, he loved the thick weight on his tongue and the huge tip prying open his throat. A moan rumbled through his chest, the vibrations turning on the billionaire even more.Â
It was clearly Tonyâs breaking point. âThatâs it, Omega. Open up.â His voice was dark and gravely, demanding Peterâs obedience and ordering him however he pleased. âLet me in. You donât know what a tease you are, staring at me with those innocent eyes, dressed in the shortest clothes you could find. Did you do this on purpose?â
Peter shook his head as much as possible, not willing to pull back even an inch. He bobbed his head, tears running down his cheeks while his throat clenched around the billionaireâs length. The cock in his mouth felt like a reward.
âGod, so innocent, even with your mouth completely stuffed. Do you know that every Alpha is staring at you? They all want you, want to fuck you, but here you are, between my legs. I think that makes you mine, doesnât it, sweetheart?â
The words were the last straw, everything he had ever wanted. He would have smirked if his mouth hadnât been stuffed with the billionaireâs cock. He knew all the Alphas were staring at him, knew they wanted him exactly how Tony had him right now, but he had decided Tony Stark was the only one he wanted and he would do anything to keep him close.Â
All the skills he had learned through training with a piece of plastic at home were finally useful and Peter took a deep breath before he started to fuck his throat on the billionaireâs cock. It was wet and messy, drool ran down Peterâs chin, mixing with his tears. He gagged around Tonyâs length, savored every little noise the Alpha made. It was proof that he was doing it right and he wasnât even sure anymore if the wetness in his pants was due to the accomplishment of his goal or the way his Alpha lost control.Â
Tony wasnât passive anymore. He fixated Peterâs face, one hand grabbing his chin while the other one was wrapped around his neck, and then he started to thrust. Peterâs eyes fell close in pleasure and he couldnât hold back anymore, forced to take every inch however his Alpha wanted him to. His fingers wandered between his legs, pulling the fabric of his shorts and his panties to one side, and giving him room to sink one finger in his hole. The whimper he let out couldnât even be muffled by the thick cock in his mouth.
âGod, youâre needy, arenât you?â Peter could only nod. âA cock in your mouth is making you so horny that you have to fill up your hole yourself? Are you a slut, baby? Tell me, how many Alphaâs have knotted you already?â
The billionaire pulled on Peterâs hair, his cock leaving the wet heat with a plop. Peter felt debauched, kneeling between Tonyâs parted legs while drool was running down his chin. He whimpered, his mouth felt empty, hell, even his hole felt empty, but his Alpha needed him to answer a question.Â
âNo one, Alpha.â
The longing Peter had seen in Tonyâs eyes couldnât be compared to the hunger he was faced with now. âAre you a virgin?â
A bashful smile, a bat of his eyes, and a soft âyesâ where enough to coax out the darkest side of Alpha instinct. Not even a second later, Peterâs mouth was stuffed again, and Tony went even deeper with every thrust, taking his throat like an animal. The Omega knew the rough behavior was caused by his teasing and the thought made him preen. His Alpha was losing it for him.
âSuch a good Omega,â Tony growled while he was entering Peterâs throat again and again. âStill untouched for me, such a rare treat, such a treasure. Iâve planned to fuck you over the workbench, but we canât do this now since your first time should be in a bed.â Peter whimpered in protest, he wanted to be filled, he wanted his first time with Tony, but when his Alpha insisted on waiting, the Omega could be content with this for now.
Tony picked up his thrusts, his hand still holding Peterâs chin in a tight grip. Peter looked him in the eyes, the arousal clearly written all over his face. His mind was blank, shut down so he could just take his Alphaâs cock and he couldnât even concentrate on the finger in his own hole.Â
The closer Tony got to the edge, the louder he became. Obscene words left his mouth, urging Peter to take him deeper, to take him faster. His thighs shook and his cock became even harder until he finally came with a shout.Â
Bitter cum was flooding Peterâs mouth and he moaned in pleasure. The taste was heavy, masculine, and although it was the first time the Omega had tasted it, he was already addicted. He made sure to swallow every drop, using his tongue to coax surge after surge out of the Alpha. It was so much more than Peter had ever released, a potent fluid, made to breed.Â
Tony twitched in his mouth and Peter sucked him until he was empty, cleaning every inch before he pulled back with a plop. Sitting between the billionaireâs feet was amazing itself, but knowing he was the reason Tony had lost control was even better. Peter smiled dopily at his Alpha, content, although he hadnât even come himself.Â
The first thing Tony did when he got the control of his body back was pulling Peter in his lap. âSuch a good Omega, so perfect for me.â His hand wandered down on Peterâs back until he touched his ass, kneading the globes and coaxing a moan out of Peter. The Omega hadnât been focused on his own arousal, too caught up in fulfilling the urge to pleasure his Alpha, but now that Tony was already done, his own needs came back.Â
Suddenly, Peter noticed the slick that drenched his shorts and thighs. He couldnât remember ever being so wet before and he moaned obscenely when Tony pulled his panties aside to tease his entrance. New slick was dripping out of him, his body was preparing itself for an Alphaâs cock.
âSo wet for me, Omega,â Tony cooed and pressed his first finger in the tight heat. Peter cried. He had never felt so good before, never had something else but his own fingers or plastic toys inside of him, but finally his Alpha would take care of his pleasure. The feelings were too much, and Peter knew he couldnât drag this out, too riled up from the first cock in his mouth.Â
Tony was barely moving his finger, only little thrusts that didnât even require him to pull out more than an inch, but it was still enough for Peter to rush towards the edge. He was bouncing on his Alphaâs finger, taking everything Tony was giving him and wordlessly pleaded for more. The billionaire hit his sweet spot every time, so much more experienced than Peter and as soon as the second finger entered him, the Omega was lost.
His orgasm was overwhelming. It started with a buzzing in his stomach, growing larger and larger until it exploded, leaving him shaking and screaming in Tonyâs lap. Wave after wave made him squirm, wetness gushing out of him, ruining the billionaireâs pants. He had never felt anything like this before. Here he was, his Alpha finally where he wanted him and while his mind was shattering under the sensations, Peter knew he had reached his goal.Â
He came down slowly, nuzzled against the billionaireâs chest with strong arms that kept him upright. His Alpha pressed light kisses against his temples, told him how beautiful he was, how precious and obedient. Tony even apologized for being so rough, for taking his throat mercilessly during his first time. Peter smiled, too tired to protest while he enjoyed his Alphaâs content scent.Â
This was what he had wanted, Tony Stark by his side, losing control in bed, but pampering him after. Saving himself had been worth it, all the struggle and all the work had been worth it because when Tony whispered in his ear that Peter was it, the Omega knew.Â
He did it, he won. Tony Stark was his. Peter had caught him in his web.Â

162. âThey told me you died. And I screamed. I screamed until my lungs hurt too much to continue.â Pepperony? ty!!
When Pepper was twelve, her aunt introduced her into the world of romance books, movies, and television shows. Pepper generally liked them, although some of the historical-fiction-romance books were a bit too corny for her taste.Â
Throughout all of these, there is one message that has been repeated: You Will Do Anything for Love.Â
She thinks itâs...well. Itâs not something that necessarily makes sense to her. Like sure, she would go to the grocery store at eleven at night to get ice cream for her partner, or she would help them with a project.Â
But dying, sacrificing yourself? She canât imagine that. She canât imagine doing whatever you have to for love.Â
Until Tony.Â
A lot of people are under the impression that Pepper is âdealingâ with Tony. That she has these long-suffering sighs, that Tony is a man-child who can only handle so much and she handles the majority.Â
That is far from the truth, although he still doesnât know his own social security number and forgets dates of things.Â
But Tony is fun and he surprises her, and heâs so soft when he wants to be. He knows when she needs to have some sort of snappy commentary, when she just needs him to sign things and pour some nice wine for a night in.Â
Iron Man is something that sheâs afraid about. Because maybe sheâs being selfish, but she hates how much Tony goes out and fights the good fights. She wants him to come home and not wince when she kisses the bridge of his nose, not grimace as he puts weight on a leg that got hit pretty badly.Â
And being inside of a suit of armor doesnât mean heâs safe. He doesnât have super healing, he doesnât have any of the advantage of the others. Heâs human, and thatâs all he is sometimes. It terrifies the shit out of her.Â
-
It was supposed to be a routine mission. One heâs flown a thousand times, one that he always complains about as a âwaste of time, honey, honestly. I would much rather be sleeping in with you-âÂ
-Â
Heâs lost, they say. Pepper wants to deny it, because how could you lose someone like him?Â
But people have been asking that question for centuries about those they love. And she knows that you can lose anyone to anything, and you have to deal with it.Â
Itâs not quiet, at least not in the house.Â
She screams and cries and barely eats anything until Jarvis has to remind her to eat anything, just something that will her up even halfway.Â
Her voice is hoarse. She can barely use it and she hates the world for still turning, but it does.Â
Thatâs a comfort to some people. That life still continues on, that people have continued on. But it is not a comfort to her, it is bitter. To see people find new love all the time, to have friends over, to still be living.Â
Itâs a curse, she thinks.Â
She doesnât come into the office for two months. She doesnât have to, and most everyone is too scared of her to tell her to do anything.Â
No oneâs sure exactly how Stark Industries will do without Tony. God knows theyâve planned for it. Pepper had, ever since she discovered the suit of armor and Tonyâs been planning since before that.Â
He had told her once when they were both getting drunk on a patio on a late summer evening, and he told her that he wasnât sure that he should have kids.Â
âIâm the worldâs biggest fuck-up,â he had said, laughing at himself. âWhy would I subject anyone to another generation of that?âÂ
That was before they were together, and it was when Pepper was dating someone else who was very...safe.Â
Pepperâs learned since then that sheâll never like safe. She tried to convince herself of that, but she canât. Not since she loves Tony as much as she does, not since she canât look away from the news.Â
-Â
Three months in.Â
Three months in, and Pepper gets an ad.Â
This isnât necessarily suspicious.Â
But the thing is, itâs one of Tonyâs funny little things that he does; he makes little ads for her throughout the day so that her day doesnât suck as bad. Usually itâs for outlandish tourist traps that theyâve never visited.Â
This time, itâs for the largest ball of twine, somewhere in Kansas.Â
Come unravel the truth for yourself! the ad blinks, flashing furiously fast for something that was made so recent.Â
She would expect that ad in the early days of the internet, when everything was flashy and people thought that was the only way to grab your attention.Â
The phrasing is...odd. Why would you go there to âverifyâ it for yourself if it was already something they thought?Â
And why for somewhere so far away?Â
She doesnât want to be one of those desperate, sobbing partners who refuse to admit the truth, search frantically for something that might not be there, is literally almost guaranteed to not be there.Â
But fuck it. What else does she have to lose? Her sanity? Thatâs not exactly something sheâd miss.Â
-Â
She starts by having Jarvis look through her entire computer.Â
He finds one anomaly. An anomaly that shouldnât be there, because Tony is the one who everything-proofed her computer, and heâs the only one who should be able to send the questionably-sourced advertisements.Â
Jarvis picks up a very faint signal.Â
-Â
Pepper finds out that she gets her own suit.Â
She scolds herself inside her own head as she feels a thrill race up her spine.Â
Sheâs bringing him back, her heart sings.Â
The problem is that she hasnât told anyone. She doesnât want anyone to know, doesnât want anyone to see him if heâs...gone.Â
So she touches down at an abandoned warehouse and her heart thrums, and then sheâs surrounded.Â
âYou know, I was told that he had new tech,â the man says, sneering. âI just wasnât aware it came with such a pretty woman attached.âÂ
âIt also comes with three different bullet varieties to test out,â Pepper says sweetly, the darts coming out of the shoulders. âWould you like to test out how well they cut through you?âÂ
âOh, weâre about to have fun.âÂ
Itâs not as much fun as this guy predicts. Heâs an old colleague of SI, as it turns out. Got fired about five years before Pepper got hired for some âmisconductâ that was quickly swept under about a million other press releases.Â
Heâs very good at underestimation.Â
Pepper is blasting through any attack he might have had, and the system in place for the armor--Friday--is adapting quite well, considering the circumstances.Â
Fighting still takes a considerably long time, however. Sheâs starting to get frustrating, and then she gets asked a question:Â
âYou currently have lasers at your disposal, Miss Potts. It would help the situation, although it can be a mess. Would you like to use it?âÂ
â...how bad of a mess?âÂ
âI can aim for nonlethal areas.âÂ
âShoot for the stars, Fry.âÂ
âAs you wish, Madam.âÂ
There is lots of screaming. She wishes there wasnât. She wishes she could be a better person, but she canât. Not when Tony is so, so close and not when she loves him as hard as she does.Â
-Â
Heâs tied up, thin, and more bruised than heâs been since...since he came back from the desert.Â
But he looks at her, and she knows that theyâll make it out.Â
âDid you...you got the ad, right?âÂ
âI got the ad.âÂ
âGood. I wasnât sure...âÂ
âSh,â she says, putting her hand to his face. âWe got it. We got it. Did they take your armor?âÂ
He thinks for a moment, and she feels terrible. But she knows how much it would help him, how much he cares for his creations.Â
âIn the briefcase. It needs a secondary DNA signature if I hit distress.âÂ
âIs Rhodey the secondary?â Pepper asks, panic rising in her voice, because she wants to get out of here, get to a safe place, fall together again.Â
âNo. You.âÂ
She visibly sighs in relief, and smiles.Â
âI love you.âÂ
âThe only piece of knowledge that got me through,â Tony says. âThat, and the promise of pizza when we get back.âÂ
Pepper rolls her eyes affectionately.Â
âWeâll debate when we reach home. Whereâs the briefcase?âÂ
âTwo rooms over, on the left. I think.âÂ
-Â
The other people who are left in the building donât put up a fight. Theyâre all untrained in combat, and one comment from Tony leaves them well-aware:Â
âThis is my partner. Sheâs pissed. Do with that information what you will.âÂ
-
His suit goes on, and Pepper can see stress bleed away from his body.Â
âGo home,â she whispers, pressing a kiss to his helmet. âIâll meet you there.âÂ
âIâm sorry if you didnât want the suit,â Tony says. âIâm really, really sorry. But I figured it could make you safe, I didnât want...I didnât want you to ever have to use it.âÂ
âYou know me better than that,â Pepper says. âAnd I...I donât mind this, honestly.âÂ
âYou donât?â Tony asks, confused. âBut the whole getting-rid-of-the-suits-on-Christmas?âÂ
â...Iâll make it up to you.âÂ
Tony smiles, and sheâs missed that.Â
-Â
The flight home is much better. She can enjoy some of it, and Friday even puts on a bit of music for the trip home.Â
Tony is already lying down, and people know the news. She lets the team run through, getting confirmation. So long as Tony allows it, so does she, although she does take a bit of liberty and cut off public visiting hours at nine p.m.Â
Heâs exhausted, already asleep.Â
Pepper still sits, still looks at him with all the stars and promises that can be held by one earth in her eyes.Â
"Iâm happy youâre here,â she says. âBecause I wouldâve ended the earth to get you back again.âÂ
#anyways it's 2020 time for us to recognize that pepper isn't 'dealing' with tony#that's not a healthy relationship thing <3#lovelyirony writes#pepperony#tony stark#pepper potts#she's a fucking badass#also i hc that pepper is FAR more like tony than most people realize but she's just subtler about it

What I Thought About "What If...Captain Carter was the First Avenger" from Marvel Studios' What If...
Salutations, random people on the internet who certainly wonât read this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons.
Back when Marvel Studios announced the new lineup of films and shows, I was admittingly underwhelmed. Nothing we've seen so far has been poorly written, far from it, but during the announcement, nothing really popped out at me as worth getting excited for. That is, except for one series: Marvel Studios' What If... An animated series that changes the canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all through the simple question. The question being, "What if this happened instead of that."
From the get-go, I was sold on this idea. I'm a sucker for hypothetical scenarios, thinking up all the ways of how some of my favorite stories in fiction could be drastically different thanks to one tiny change. Some might call that "Fanfiction the Series," and while you're not wrong, I fail to see how that's a criticism. Because fanfiction can be fun...just as long as you ignore the sick freaks, sure, but it still can be fun! So whether Marvel Studio's What If... is fanfiction or not, it still didn't change how excited I was to watch it. Was it all worth the hype? Well, to answer that question requires spoilers, so keep that in mind as we dive deep into Marvel's most ambitious project yet.
Now, let's review, shall we?
WHAT I LIKED
The Watcher: Gonna get the generals out of the way before I talk about what I specifically like about this episode. Ok? Ok.
Now, using the Watcher as the narrator for this series is just perfect. What If... already has a similar energy to The Twilight Zone: An anthology series that takes viewers to new and mysterious realities all through the guidance of an omniscient narrator. And using the Watcher as that type of narrator might just be the second-best choice...number one would be Stan Lee, obviously, but...he's dead now. May he rest in peace.
I haven't read that many comics, so there's not much that I know about the Watcher's character aside from a ten-second Google search. But something tells me that a character described as a celestial being that observes and records the events surrounding the galaxy sounds like the exact type of omniscience to guide us through the unknown. All added with Jeffrey Wright's performance, who really does convey a character that sounds like he's as old as time and wise beyond his years. Plus, it's pretty cool that such a seemingly odd character now technically plays a major role in the MCU canon. Comics are weird, and if the Watcher proves anything, it's better to embrace that weirdness than deny it.
The Animation: Looks like someone watched Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.
That really is the feeling I got when watching this. What If... doesn't look as good as Spiderverse (Nothing can be as good as Spiderverse), but the idea is still there as it combines primarily CGI animation with a few hand-drawn elements. It makes certain scenes just pop and, at times, even makes specific shots look like they're straight from panels in a comic book. Besides, while Spiderverse still looks better, that doesn't mean the animation isn't phenomenal in What If... The scenery looks gorgeous, the CGI models moderately match their live-action counterparts, the expressions are fantastic, and movements are as smooth as butter. There was definitely some money that went into this series to make it look as good as it did, and my eyeballs were more than grateful because of it. Especially when it comes to--
The Action: Holy s**t, was it a good thing that this series was animated!
The MCU has had its fair share of great fight scenes in the past, but it always felt restricted to what the big superhero fights could be due to everything needing to look "realistic." That all changes in What If... Because now that this series is animated, we can finally chuck realism out the window and allow these characters to be as epic as they were in the comics. The movements are swift, the blows look like they hurt, and best of all, you actually get to see characters fighting each other! There are no random cuts to hide the stunt doubles or weird camera angles to avoid audiences seeing how ugly the CGIed replacements are. We get to see all of the action with zero restraint, thanks to the fact that animation is limitless and allows writers to get away with literally anything. And shows like this make me wonder, "Why the hell isn't the MCU animated?"
Peggy as Captain Carter: It's here that we get into the specifics, and by golly, do I love me some Peggy Carter making a return. And what a return she made!
Seeing Peggy kick Nazi ass as Captain Carter is as awesome as it sounds as she gives a new definition of a "Strong, independent woman." She took s**t from no one and was more than willing to destroy anybody who said differently. It's a ton of fun for fans (the ones who aren't sexist, at least) and even fun for Peggy as well now that she gets a chance to wreck shop. However, that in itself could cause problems. If you watched Agent Carter (a great show, by the way), then you'll know that Peggy doesn't act as...somewhat meatheaded as she does here. As she said it herself, she's "usually more covert than this." And she is, as she was pretty much the first superspy in the MCU, who's impressive through how she effortlessly infiltrates her way to winning the day with diminutive requirements for fighting. So stripping that away gets rid of a core part of what makes her character so interesting. Although, in fairness, you could blame the fact that the reason she's acting like this is that the super-soldier serum is messing with her brain a bit. We've seen through U.S. Agent the reciprocations of the wrong person taking the serum, and while Peggy is far from the worst pick, there are hints of why Steve Rodgers was the best choice. Still, even though it's not the same Peggy Carter, that doesn't mean Captain Carter is a poor addition to the hero roster in the MCU. She's cool in all the right ways, even though they're drastically different from what made her compelling, to begin with.
Howard Stark: Another character I'm more than happy to see again!
Howard didn't leave that much of a grand of an impression in Captain America: The First Avenger, but in Agent Carter (Seriously, great show), he was a blast. You can just tell he was Tony Stark's father through all the ways he fast-talks in and out of problems and brilliantly comes up with solutions thanks to being tech-savvy. The main difference between Howard and Tony, however, is that Howard prefers to stay on the sidelines, where Tony learned to be more proactive. You get a sense of that in this episode. Because even though he goes to save the day, you can tell that he would rather be anywhere else. And, as a bonus, Howard's just funny. Probably not up there as one of the funniest characters in the franchise (Paul Rudd's Ant-Man reigns supreme), but he still cracks me up more times than not. Howard may be nothing more than a side character, but he'll always win me over no matter how small of a role he has.
Steve Rodgers in the Hydra Stomper: Don't mind me. Just admiring the fact that despite being crippled and skinny, Steve Rodgers still finds a way to fight the good fight, which is who Steve is to me. One of the best things about The First Avenger is that it fully understands the hero that is Captain America. Serum or not, he will do all he can to do the right thing and won't give up despite how many times others tell him he should. So if Steve's going to fly around in a suped-up Iron Man suit that's appropriately named "The Hydra Stomper," then Steve'll f**king soar. Because he is a gosh dang superhero, no matter what name he takes at the end of the day.
Fast-Forwarding Through Events: Some fans might take issues with this. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see all the little changes that Captain Carter makes to the story, but realistically that's not the best choice to make. Let's be honest, there's not that much to show other than what this episode did, and doing a full-on rewrite of Captain America: The First Avenger would have rubbed some fans the wrong way. Besides, from what I can tell, most of the What If... comics are one-shots that very rarely branch out into longer arcs. The primary goal is less to write this large-scale story and more of this self-contained narrative that does what it precisely delivers: Show fans a glimpse of what would happen if this happened instead of that. That's what we were given, and I can't really complain that much. I would have loved to have seen more, but I can learn to be happy with what I got.
Colonel Flynn Taking Credit: This guy is sexist and an idiot, and that's why I hate him...but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't at least chuckle when he said everything was his idea. It's such a scumbag move that I couldn't help but find the humor in it.
(Like, what even was that scene where Peggy was pissed at Steve kissing a girl. THEY WEREN'T EVEN DATING !)nd Steve falling in love inThe First Avenger, which certainly wasn't helped by how they had these dumbass misunderstandings of each thinking the other was dating someone else. Here, they at least get to interact, confiding in one another about their insecurities and offer support when needed. And while it may be a little rushed, I'm more willing to believe their romance in under thirty minutes than I did in over two hours. It could have been better, but it also could have been much, much worse.
(Like, what even was that scene where Peggy was pissed at Steve kissing a girl. THEY WEREN'T EVEN DATING AT THE TIME!)
âI wonât tell you anything.â/âHe told me everything.â: That's the Peggy Carter I know and love! Added with a solid joke, too.
Steveâs Pratfall: It's nice to know that no matter what universe we see, Marvel is still funny.
Peggyâs Sacrifice: Much like Peggy and Steve's romance, I buy Peggy's sacrifice way more than Steve's. Several fans already pointed out how it makes no sense for Steve to crash the plane into the icy waters when it seemed like he had enough control to land it or could have easily jumped out after aiming for the crash landing. Here, there's a more legitimate reason why Peggy sacrifices herself. The monster was undefeatable, and the only way to stop it was to push it back through the portal. Peggy, being the only one strong enough to do so at the moment, was the only option, and there was no way where she didn't end up going through with the monster. Even her return makes more sense, as I think her being lost to time and space sounds more believable than Steve surviving being frozen in ice. Something no mortal man should live through. Peggy's sacrifice proves that while the MCU can't change its cannon past, the writers learn from their mistakes and make something better.
WHAT I DISLIKED
The Reasoning Behind Peggy Becoming Captain Carter: So, the idea that one small change can greatly alter the story we knew is a great one, and it's one of the main reasons why I was excited about this series...but how does Peggy staying in the room cause the Hydra agent to detonate the bomb early? I understand the ripples that come from the Butterfly Effect, but I feel like that's too big of a leap to reason how Peggy ends up taking the serum instead.
Colonel Flynn: How is it possible that this guy is somehow even more of a pain in the ass than the general he replaced? At least Chester Phillips had the decency to respect Agent Carter!
Red Skull is Still on the Dull Side: Red Skull isn't an awful villain, but he wasn't really a great one. It's the same here, as he's just as forgettable and wooden an episode of television as he was in a full-length movie. But at least he had a cooler death this time.
Sebastian Stan is Not a Great Voice Actor: He's not awful, but his talent really doesn't shine in this regard. Some people think that being an actor and a voice actor is the same thing, but it's not always the case. Through live-action, actors are given a chance to express emotion through their expressions, movement, and voice. With voice acting, actors still have to convey emotions, but strictly through their voice. Meaning that actors like Sebastian Stan are limited to what they're used to and can stumble a bit when trying to perform in a field of acting they're unfamiliar with. You can tell he was trying his best, but this type of thing can take far more practice for others to perfect.
âWhew. Thanks. You almost ripped my arm off.â: ...hhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHA! HA HA! Ah...oh man...I, uh...I felt the internal bleeding with that one. Wow. Just...wow.
Bucky Leaving After Steve âDiedâ: Ok, now that's the biggest bout of bulls**t I've ever heard. BUCKY WOULD BE WITH STEVE 'TILL THE END OF THE LINE AND WOULD NOT HAVE LEFT THAT QUICKLY!
...This episode did Bucky dirty, didn't it?
IN CONCLUSION
I'd say that "What If...Captain Carter was the First Avenger" is an A-. It's still a solid start of what I can already tell will be a great series, but some elements could have used some polishing out. I loved it, but it wasn't as bloody brilliant as it could have been.
(And I meant it: WATCH AGENT CARTER! It's pleasantly surprising!)

Tony Bontana - Feet Firm
Not only did we get a Sir E.U. write-up on Pitchfork this week but they also threw a spotlight on Tony Bontana! If they got rid of all their content apart from The Ones column, theyâd be one of the better sources for new music on the internet!

Stark Spangled Kinks: Weâre Going For A Ride, Doll...
Summary: Steveâs been away for a few weeks running a mission, and whilst heâs been away Katie hasnât exactly had a relaxing time. What better way to relieve a tension than a little night time bike rideâŠ
Warning:Â SMUT SMUT SMUT- This entire series is SMUT so NSFW and NO UNDER 18s!!
Pairings:Â Steve Rogers x OFC Katie Stark.
A/N: Biker Steve smutâŠyeah..itâs a kink. Enjoy.
SSK Masterlist // WIYPT Masterlist
Katie let the scorching hot water cascade down her body, loosening her muscles and washing away the last of the tension from her meeting earlier that day. It had been frustrating, middle aged men in trousers trying to prove who had the longest dicks as per usual until her temper had snapped and sheâd called time on the finance review, and told them to come back in a few days when they had finished trying to see who could piss up the walls the highest.
Pepper had smirked when she had stormed out of the meeting and declared she was flying back to DC and then her smirk had turned to a frown when sheâd seen the look on Katieâs face, instead asking the youngest Stark if she was ok. Truth was she was far from it. She was exhausted having not slept properly for the best part of two weeks now. And the reason for the lack of sleep was that for the first time since sheâd started dating Steve theyâd been snapped out on a date and the offending photos splashed all over the internet.
He told me to tell you itâs important and he doesnât want people listening inâŠheâs waiting in his office.â With a groan she grabbed her coffee and walked back the way she had come, ignoring the glances that were coming her way before heading to the elevator and selecting the floor that housed Tonyâs office.
âWhat do you want?â she demanded as she walked into his office, to see Tony and Happy both looking at something on the screen.
âHey Kiddo, morning to you tooâŠâ
âTony, Iâve got meetings all day. I have a potential author coming in at 12 soâŠâ Tony waved his hand and the screen he was looking at projected the image onto the holodisplay in front of her and her eyes widened. It was a photo of her and Steve sat in her car in the middle of quite a deep kiss. Steveâs hand was cupping her cheek as hers was tangled in his hair, and she knew exactly when it had been taken, the previous night when theyâd been out on a date. Steve had been called right in the middle of their evening for an urgent mission so their meal cut short, sheâd dropped him home and he was kissing her goodbye.
âShit.â She groaned, and looked at Tony who grinned and shrugged.
âYeah, you got pappedâŠâ he said, before he paused âActually papped isnât the right word seeing as it wasnât a professional photographer, they know now to not even bother. This was some member of the public. First we saw was when our daily Social Media monitoring reports picked it up.â
âAre there anymore?â
âA few.â He said, flicking through the photos which basically were snapped in succession. There was one of them breaking from the kiss, Steve pressing his head to hers, then pecking her lips again, before climbing out of the car.
âCan we get rid of them?â
âOh yeah.â Tony waved a hand, âWe already deployed the algorithm, usual stuffâŠand I tracked down the person who took the original shot and offered him an obscene amount of money to hand over the rights. At first he wasnât going to do it, but then I told him it was that or I fired a virus straight down the line to blow up his phone.â Katie rolled her eyes âAnd he believed you could actually do that?â Happy shrugged âWell, we can in a wayâŠmaybe not the blowing up bit butâŠâ âThing is we donât know how far this has gone.â Tony shrugged âWe can keep the photo off the net butâŠwell, it was already trending when we saw it.â âUnder what?â
Tony grinned and waved his hand, revealing the hashtag.
âStark Spangled Man?â Katie groaned âJesus ChristâŠâ
âYeah, I was tempted to leave it just for that tag.â Tony mused and Katie rubbed at her temple.
âIf the guys at SHIELD have seen thisâŠâ
âAlready had the Goth Pirate on the phone.â Tony shrugged âTold him Iâd deal with it. Itâs not like the public didnât know you two wereâŠyou know.â
âHas Steve seen it?â
âHow the fuck should I know?â Tony looked at her âHeâs your boyfriend. You ask him.â
âI canât, heâs on a mission and itâs radio silence.â She bit her lip and ran her hand through her hair. âI canât see him being particularly pleased about it.â âMaybe he shouldnât have been eating your face in the front of your Rangey then.â Tony shrugged.
âOh piss off.â She snapped at her brother, show simply raised his eyebrow, smirking slightly.
âKiddo, we can stop the photosâŠâ Happy said, looking at her, âBut the comments and tweets, itâs a huge job andâŠâ âYeah I know justâŠâ she shrugged âOh whatever, theyâll get bored eventually. Sheâd dealt with comments like that before, knowing full well it came from a place of jealousy most of the time, what she was struggling with was the fact she hadnât managed to speak to Steve about it at all.
What his reaction was going to be was worrying her. Public interest in their relationship was a risk they knew they were running, having gone public in December at the New Yearsâ Eve gala, but up until that point they had been lucky. They were also careful in that when they were out, they kept to quiet places as much as possible and as Steve wasnât huge on public displays of affection in general (holding hands and the odd quick kiss being as far as he went) there wasnât really anything of interest to papâŠuntil that night.
With a heavy sigh she turned around and let her face soak in the stream one last time, then she turned off the water, stepped out and grabbed a towel before she headed back into her room.
Steve had been gone for three weeks, on an undercover mission. Something to do with some guy planning to flood the US with dirty drugs. She didnât know much, no longer being at SHIELD she wasnât party to the secrets and despite the fact Fury was actually pretty good at keeping her as updated as he could, she always felt stressed and anxious when he was away, not knowing if he was okay. It had been easier when she had been an Agent herself, something which made her sometimes question her decision to quit.
Especially on days like today, with meetings like that one.
Yeah, it had been a long three weeks.
She hastily ran back to the living and grabbed her phone which was on the sofa cushion, smiling as she saw the photo of her and Steve filling the screen.
âHey!â she said a little breathlessly and she heard a chuckle on the other side.
âAm I glad to hear your voiceâ her soldier spoke and she felt herself tearing up.
âMe too.â She said, taking a deep breath âI take it the mission is done?â
âYeah, took a little longer than we thought. Iâm sorry I havenât been able to call Doll.â
âItâs ok.â She smiled, âWhen are you home?â
âYeah, about thatâŠâ he said softly, and she took a deep breath, bracing herself for bad news before he spoke again, a playful quality to his soothing voice âLook out the window baby girl.â
Katie felt a huge grin cross her face as that could only mean one thing. In a flash she yanked open the doors that led to her balcony and ran out, peering over the edge. And there he was, in all his glory, waving up at her from where he sat on his bike.
âWhat you down there for?â she teased as she looked down.
âWeâre going for a ride Doll.â He replied simply and she grinned.
âIâll be right down.â
â3 minutes. Captains Orders.â He shot back and she turned and headed into her penthouse.
âI love it when you get all masterfulâ she teased and he gave a little laugh.
âI know.â
Steve stood up off his bike and strode towards her, meeting her halfway as she threw herself into his arms.
âHeyâŠâ he said softly, his face pressing into her hair as her legs circled his waist. âGod I missed you.â âMissed you too.â She mumbled, before she pulled back and pressed a kiss to his lips. âLike, really missed you.â
And then she suddenly became conscious they were in the street. She threw a glance around, looking for any sly public amateur photographers and Steve frowned, spotting her change in demeanour.
âSweetheart, whatâs wrong?â
âNothing.â She looked at him as he set her on her feet, his hands on her waist âLetâs get out of here.â
Leaning her legs forward she hooked her calves around his, the denim of his jeans rustling as it bushed against her leggings. Her hands dropped to his knees and he ran them up the outside of his thighs, her fingers staking the strong muscles as they stretched the fabric of dark blue Leviâs slightly. âKatie?â he asked again and she took a deep breath before she reached for her phone in the pocket of her jacket.
âSomeone papped usâŠwell I say papped, it was more some nosey bastard member of the publicâŠâ she said, scrolling through to the photo. She handed it to him and he took it from her, fingers brushing hers gently. He glanced down at it and after a second he screwed up his face and let out a breath from his nose.
âCrap.â He muttered before he handed her phone back and looked at her, rolling his eyes.
âTony managed to get rid of it from the net butâŠâ she shrugged âItâs been a pain in the ass Steve, the fucking mumbled little comments in the office andâŠâ she rubbed her neck slightly âNot being able to warn you either.â
âWarn me?â he cocked his head to one side âAbout what?â
âThe fact you were all over the internet eating my face.â She shrugged and he gave a snort of laughter âDidnât want you walking back into base and being blindsided. I know youâre not big into PDAs and I figured if the guys from STRIKE got hold of it, hell, if Nat got hold of itâŠâ âYou think I give a damned about that?â Steve frowned âDoll, I couldnât care less.â Katie looked at him, blinking âYou donât?â
âNo, well, I mean itâs not great but, well, Iâm more pissed that you got a hard time in the office about it.â
âNothing I canât handle.â She shrugged, before she grinned âIf they carry on I can just fire them all.â Steve chuckled, his hands dropping to hers as he laced their fingers together âBet Tony had a field day.â âYeah, he thought it was pretty funny, especially the hashtag it was all trending under.â âWhich was?â
âStark Spangled Man.â She said, raising an eyebrow. Steve paused for a second before he tipped his head back, his broad chest and shoulders shaking with the force of his laughter before he shook his head and peeked up at her slightly.â10 outta 10 for imagination, huh?â she shrugged, grinning herself.
âWell, theyâre not wrongâŠâ he said simply, his hands leaving hers and they slid under her ass as he pulled her forward so she was straddling his lap. âI am completely and utterly, Stark SpangledâŠâ
âI never wanna hear you say that ever again.â She said, narrowing her eyes as her hands slid up his arms coming to rest on the firm planes of his chest, just below his collar bone.
âNo?â he asked gently, his hands splaying on her back gently underneath her jacket.
âNot unless you want me to start singing an amended version of your chorus song.â She grinned.
âShut up.â âMake me.â She retorted, a childish tone to her voice and arched an eyebrow as he looked up at her.
âBrat.â He mumbled, his hand sliding up to her neck, pulling her face down to his.
Her breath caught in her throat and she swallowed, thickly as he paused his fingers digging into her back.
âYouâre not wearing a bra.â He mumbled.
âNot wearing any panties eitherâŠâ she said softly and he pulled back to look at her, a groan escaping his mouth.
âYouâre killing me doll.â âWell I was in my comfy stuff and you gave me 3 minutes to get ready.â She shrugged âCaptainâs orders, remember?â
âBecause you always do exactly what I tell youâŠâ he said sarcastically, looking at her with those baby blues which were now a dark midnight shade through desire.
âWhen it counts I do.â She said, rolling her hips, pushing down on his crotch. He hissed slightly, his hands gripping her tighter as he bit his lip. Steve took a look round the deserted clearing and his attention turned back to her, his eyes challenging.
âDonât start something youâre not gonna finish Sweetheart.â He said sternly, his voice low and the tone he spoke with had her twitching even more. She wasnât one to back down to a challenge, and he knew that, but despite the fact she knew he was playing games, she simply smirked and her hands slid down his chest to his belt, fingers made short work of the buckle before she moved her attentions to the button on his jeans, popping them easily before she slid down the zipper.
âWho says I wasnât gonna finish it?â she shrugged, as her hand worked into his boxers and wrapped her palm around his warm cock and he gave a low moan, his head falling back as she began to work him.
Katie simply watched his face, his soft lips parting slightly, eyes fluttering shut. Long lashes lay against his rosy cheeks, his Adamâs apple bobbed and he gulped slightly when her movements and grip grew stronger. His eyes opened and locked onto hers, his pupils completely lust blown, speckles of moonlight reflecting in them gave her the impression she was looking at the starry sky and he leaned up and pressed his lips to hers in a hungry kiss, their teeth clashing slightly. She felt the heat pooling between her legs as his hands slid under the side of her long sweater, fingers gripping her skin tightly as he squirmed underneath her.
Katie moved her hand more rapidly, loving the effect she had on him. The fact she could undo the stoic, taciturn Captain in matter of minutes was a fucking turn on and she grinned as he buried his face into her neck, alternating between fast and hard, long and slow strokes. She felt him attempt to thrust desperately into her palm as he let out a low sigh of her name and she tilted his face back to hers with his spare hand and captured his mouth in a hard kiss as she gave him another slow stroke.
The feeling of being manhandled like that, in the open air, one hand between her legs, the other round her neck, his cock thrusting slowly against her spot was almost too much, and she groaned, writhing on his lap, her mouth falling open, and when she finally found her voice it was raspy as she struggled to form her words.
âPlease, SteveâŠI needâŠâ her eyes locked onto his, her hand grasping the wrists of his hand which was between her legs, trying to speed him up. He looked back at her, his face contorted in a mix of pleasure and concentration, sweat beading on his brow.
âYeah?â
âYeahâŠâ she nodded, and his fingers picked up their pace as did his hips. Her legs shuddered slightly as she felt the white, hot heat rising in her belly and she let out a low cry of his name.
âCome on DollâŠâ he murmured, âCome for me sweetheart.â And she did, with a force so intense she couldnât stop herself letting out a loud âFuckâ as she shuddered, the world fading to dark around her, as the waves of pleasure racked her entire body.
âShit, KatieâŠâ Steve stuttered, his thrusts growing erratic as be bit down gently on her shoulder and he came with a groan, his hips slowing to an eventual stop as he sagged forward a little, forehead buried against her shoulder.
All golden haired, slack jawed, kiss swollen lips and long eyelashes framing . Taking a deep breath Steve pressed a soft kiss to her neck before he cracked his eyes open and gave her that beautiful smile she lived for.
âFor the recordâŠâ she hummed into his mouth as she captured his lips in a small kiss. âIâm well aware you totally just played me.â
He gave a soft chuckle and looked up at her, his blue eyes sparkling âGuilty as charged.â His hands ran up her sides underneath her sweater, fingers gently trailing down her ribs. âBut I did tell you we were going for a ride DollâŠâ

(this couldâve been) a villainâs origin story part III
Tony lied.
Which is to say, he didnât lie because lying would imply that he knows for a fact that what heâs said isnât true. Which he doesnât. Just because Tony has Opinionsâą on supes doesnât mean heâs got friends -- or even half-way stable contacts really -- among them.
[You have to understand, supes do not tolerate outsiders any better than unenhanced people tolerate supes. And tolerate is already one of the highest possible achievements. To say that relations between the enhanced and unenhanced segments of society are strained would be a gross understatement.
And who can blame them? Either of them?]
[How dare they?]
So Tony honestly has no clue why supes avoid professional medical attention like criminals on the run no matter their alignment or security labeling. He can guess though. Oh boy can he guess.
[After all, there is no such thing as a naturally enhanced human.]
Long, bleak hallways, empty of life.
Acceptable failure [read: mortality] rates.
âFor the Greater Good.â
[What does it take to make a human? What does it take to improve the design?]
What do you do with a weapon you canât neutralise once the war is over?Â
Tony probably isnât the first unenhanced to offer his services to the supe community. Certainly isnât the first activist to fight for their rights, to criticize the status quo, to reach out and offer.
Maybe some of those other people meant well. Maybe some didnât. Maybe some where accepted, maybe they werenât. It doesnât matter. Tony Stark has never been the type to sit and wait for others to find him. Heâs never been the type to stop, simply because his efforts arenât wanted. Heâd never have gotten anywhere in life if he did.
So Tony stumbles upon the bloodied, motionless figure of the Winter Soldier -- clearly recognizable by the goggles and the metal arm, even with the blood everywhere and the ruined costume. And he drags him to his store, a small garage that may or may not have five more levels underneath it than any official plans would show. Really, the design would do any supervillain proud.
And Tony is nervousworriedexcited about his first, not-yet-conscious customer, but he isnât stupid.
[Which is to say JARVIS politely reminds him.]
He doesnât drag the Winter Soldier into the med section. Because the med section is for Tonyâs own accidents that occur more often than the long-suffering JARVIS would like, the old spoilsport, but itâs also bright neon lights and surgically clean surfaces and disinfectant heavy in the air.
The workshop -- messy, messy, messy, oil smoke and fire-extinguishing foam everywhere -- it is.
There Tony sets about ridding the Winter Soldier of his ruined clothes -- hello, abs -- though the goggles stay firmly on once JARVISâ scan confirms that thereâs no serious damage on the guyâs face because Tony can politely respect a secret identity, okay, thatâs a boundary if he ever heard one and he can totally respect that, no matter how curious it makes him, shut up JARVIS.
The supeâs wounds arenât actually that bad, which brings Tony to the slightly uncomfortable realization that most of the blood on the guy isnât his own. Yuck. Although that makes his job easier -- Tony might have plenty experience with first aid, but heâs really not that kind of doctor -- so Tony puts the matter out of his mind.
After having taken care of the wounds -- the deeper cuts are already knitting themselves together, so Tony doesnât bother stitching those, just plasters his collection of Teletubby band-aids all over them and calls it a job well-done -- and covering the guy with a blanket -- though JARVIS reminds him to also leave sweatpants and a shirt within easy reach, just in case this guy isnât running on the super-hot side of the temperature scale [thereâs no question about his rating on the hot-ness scale, 10s all the way] or is shy or something, not that Tony really grasps the concept of shyness -- Tony focuses on the important thing.
Namely the metal arm.
Which is the coolest thing Tony has ever seen and his fingers are already twitching to reach out and make it better.
Now, Tony isnât good with boundaries. He really, really isnât, just ask JARVIS.Â
[Asking Tony will get you nothing, safe perhaps for an incomprehensive stare and a âOf course Iâm not stalking you, I was just curious and look, I got you a new TV and a better internet connection because that thing was a travesty and your landlord should be fired, now thereâs an idea, hang on for a sec--â because he honestly doesnât get it. People are so confusing and needlessly complicated sometimes.]
But even Tony gets that working on some guyâs arm while heâs unconscious and injured might be taking things a step too far. If only because JARVIS made him read all those articles on medical consent and patient confidentiality. Though that was, admittedly, for a very different reason.
[Tony doesnât wonder whether the Winter Soldier lost his arm in an accident or whether it was decided that a literal inbuilt firearm would be more convenient. He doesnât wonder whether anyone even asked the guy-- Nope, totally not going there.
He already knows the answer anyway.]
Thereâs no harm in taking a look at JARVISâ scans while he makes himself a hot chocolate and waits for the guy to wake up though. The thought of a hot chocolate makes Tony wonder if his customer would appreciate one... if he has the grip precision to hold a cup with his metal hand without breaking it... if the sensors can be fine-tuned... if there could be heating pads inserted in his palm to warm a cup via hand... or burn an enemy... or--
Somehow that hot chocolate never does get made.
Instead, half an hour later, when JARVIS flashes code RED for the first time since Tony implemented his new and improved warning system, Tony is neck-deep in the design of a portable heating system strong enough to melt through an average safe door.
Itâs more surprise than fear at seeing code RED in action that has Tony ducking, narrowly avoiding a metal wrench to the head, and grabbing the first two things he can get his hands on to defend himself.
Which ends up being an eraser and a open pack of marshmallows that were supposed to go into his never made hot chocolate. Wonderful.
Tony hesitantly stares up at the Winter Soldier in all his half-naked, very much armed glory -- where the fuck did he hide that knife?!? -- carefully edging away to put a table between himself and the possibly confused supe. JARVIS doesnât say a word, but Tony doesnât have to glance at the flashing screen to know his overprotective AI wants him to enact Protocol SKYNET For The Win. Which-- Tony never would meet any interesting people if he let JARVIS bully him into activating his idea of appropriate protection every time he encountered a tiny set-back.
So.

Prologue
Chapter 1 - The Informant
Chapter 2 - A Wedding and Four Funerals
"All the best from Mr DEA." Diana said as she threw herself down in the seat across from her best friend. Gabriela looked effortlessly glamourous as usual, even though she was just in a blouse and jeans. She just had that air about her, like one of the vintage movie stars, something Diana had never quite been able to match. She was well aware she was downright frumpy in comparison, not one to catch eyes just by walking past. For the most part, that suited her. Gabi tried to seem nonchalant about the greeting.
"Oh?" She sipped gingerly from her drink and put her menu away. "You finally met, then? He's back?"
Diana nodded and stowed away her purse and cardigan. "Yeah, this afternoon and yesterday, in the morning. He seems... nice enough? I don't know. Not a talker, is he? He seems a bit on edge, to be honest. Though I suppose that's to be expected." But despite everything, he still has kindness in his eyes.
Gabi just grinned at her for a long moment, waiting to pounce.
"Yeah, he can be a bit of a grump. ...Handsome though, no?"
Diana sighed, swatting at the other woman with her own menu. "Did it ever occur to you that the newly divorced woman might have had her fill of men for the time being?"
"It has occcurred to me that five years of unchanging, uninspired missionary for half an hour exactly, twice a week, with that wet blanket you married might have left you with the need to really be filled by a man for once."
"Gabriela!" she gasped, choking on thin air and mortification, even though their conversations would often get way more explicit than this. Just never with her being the subject. Gabriela just smiles like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, hailing a waiter to give him their order.
"Speaking of newly divorced: has the dipshit finally signed the papers then?" Diana groaned, throwing her glasses down onto the table to massage her temples.
"No, he's dragging his feet. Which is ridiculous, it's not like I want anything from him. It's not like we're fighting tooth and nail over every other thing, like that American movie, the one we watched on your mom's old VHS player, you know? With Meryl Streep? In any case, now he decides to fight? If you can call that fighting."
"Kramer vs Kramer." Gabi remarked sagely. "Yeah... At least you don't have children together. That could really have gone ugly. I still don't know what you ever saw in that man."
"Oh shut it. I used to be fond of Juan Mateo; I don't know when that changed." Diana huffed, quickly snatching up her glasses when the waiter sailed over with their drinks and appetizer.
"Well that's the problem, you never loved him! And your parents set too good an example; what could ever live up to that?" She took a generous drag from her drink, then dug into the food with hungry abandon. "At least you're finally rid of his snoring. And his mother."
"God, she really hated me. Couldn't bear it that her precious boy brought some lowly scum from the comunas into her pristine middle class home. Marrying me might have just been the only demonstration of free will that man has ever managed." Diana allowed herself to seethe a bit at the memory, taking it out on her food as she stabbed at it roughly. "And I will definitely not miss the snoring."
"Mr DEA barely snores." Gabriela remarked lightly. "Just ...very softly. It's quite cute."
"Since when do you let clients stay to actually sleep?" Diana inquired around a mouthful, brows scrunched. Gabriela hummed thoughtfully, swiping some sauce off her plate with a piece of bread.
"Ah, but he was so tired, poor thing. It wouldn't have been safe to send him back out, he would have crashed his car and died in a ditch somewhere, which would have been a real shame. I just let him nap for an hour or so that one time. Besides, I wasn't in any state to do much myself after he blew my back out." She had a way of being so nonchalant about these things that Diana supposed came from a sort of professional equanimity. Diana possessed no such poise and gawked openly, the wheels turning in her head as she recalled previous conversations and connected dots.
"Oh." She breathed as realization hit. "Oh! No! That was him? You're kidding me. How am supposed to look him in the eye now?" Gabi was already cackling, barely able to hold her laughter as Diana sputtered, recalling the very detailed recounting she'd received after the night in question. "You said you felt that for days after!"
"I did, but it was worth it." Gabi was now subtly holding her sides, having pushed her empty plate away to be collected. "You see, you're my dearest and oldest friend and I only want the best for you."
"I'm sure Mr DEA would be delighted to know of your crude attempts to pimp him out." Diana snarked, pushing her own plate to the side just in time to be whisked away by the waiter. "You're incorrigible. This is serious. Besides, I think he really liked you, actually."
"He liked the illusion of intimacy, like most of my clients. Lonely but with committment issues to the moon and back. It's not like I'm telling you to marry him. I'm just trying to get you properly laid for once." Gabriela scoffed. She could be so detached sometimes. In fact, one could call it downright cynical. But Diana had known her since they were both in pigtails and could detect the care behind even the most jaded words.
"Oh whatever. I request a change of topic. How's your book coming along? Any progress on that chapter that's been giving you so much trouble?" Diana asked sweetly, making the other woman glare at her over the plates with their main courses as they were being set down. Because yes, Gabriela does indeed write more than letters, and she's good, too. Also, two can play this game of being just slightly mean.

Javier hated team meetings. And now that he was the boss here he couldn't even get out of them. Worse, he had to lead them. He looked over the assembled agents, glad that he had most of their names down by now. Gladder still that this was a DEA-only event and he wouldn't have to deal with any of Stechner's CIA asswads for now.
"Duffy, where are we on the shipments?" He turned to the other man expectantly. Duffy was one of the few agents here that weren't younger than him; he actually had some experience under his belt, unlike all these fucking greenhorns the higher-ups had sent him. He forced himself to pay attention to Agent Duffy's answer, making notes of important dates as he listened. Operation Cornerstone had, at this point, not yet come to full fruition, but if they continued to put in their due dilligence it was almost certain to turn up something useful. When they'd gone through all the points on his agenda, and after clearing up a few uncertainties, he dismissed the roomful of agents.
"Duffy, got another moment?" Javier stopped the other agent as he turned to leave the conference room.
"Sir?" Duffy sat back down and pulled his writing pad back out.
"Have you come up with any ideas for my informant in CalĂ?" Javier had mentioned this before, seeing as Duffy was one of the agents permanently stationed at the CalĂ field office. Now that Escobar was gone it would look suspicious if the head of the DEA in the country trekked up to MedellĂn every other week, and they needed a better way for Miss Rivas to hand over her collected intel. Duffy cleared his throat and caught the eye of one of his colleagues and waved him over.
"Lopez here has had a few ideas, sir. Tony, tell the boss your ideas for drop-offs."
The other agent was younger, handsome in that pretty way that made girls sigh dreamily, going by his own, admittedly remote, memory of high school and college. Lopez hadn't said much during the meeting, but had that eager glint in his eyes that said he wanted to prove himself. Javier had had that same look when he first came down here; it hadn't survived the first year.
"Let's hear it."
"Okay, so I was thinking the public library might be worth a shot." Agent Lopez pulled a notepad from his own case, squinting down at the scrawled chickenscratch. Javier nodded along, encouraging more than praise. He'd have to run these ideas by Miss Rivas anyway, and if she had concerns they were back at square one. But that was a river he intended to cross when the time came and not a second earlier.
--- --- ---
The satphone was also a good instinct because after their preliminary meetings in April, it gets irritatingly difficult to arrange another one for over a month.
"The what now?"
"The 4th International Poetry Festival. It's on from June 2nd to 8th." she explained patiently. "Orietta Lozano, Gloria Gervitz, Blanca Varela!"
"I assume those are poets."
"Obviously."
"You want me to go to a poetry festival with you?"
"No, I'm taking the week off and I'm going to the festival, and I am also free to meet you. I'm just suggesting that maybe your work hours don't all have to be spent in dreariness and drudgery." Something sizzled on the other end of the line where she was making herself dinner while talking to him, and it made Javier's stomach grumble. "A bit of culture is good for the soul, Agent Peña. You'll burn yourself out with how much you work. When was the last time you ever did anything for fun? Read a book? Hell, listened to music?"
Whenever you call me. She always had music on at home. It drifted through the receiver, a soothing background hum that was too soft to truly make out most times. Add to that the fact that he was still sitting in his office at almost half past seven in the evening, and he didn't have a proper counter-argument.
"Alright, fine. 2nd to 8th, I'll see what I can do."
--- --- ---
She was wearing another belted shirt dress, this one pale yellow and sleeveless, the full skirt reaching to just below the knees. It reminded Javier of the style his mother used to wear when he was little. Saturday, June 4th, had him meet up with Miss Rivas at the Teatro Metropolitano in central MedellĂn. Her dress contrasted against the blocky red building in a way that tugged familiar, but Javier was trying to train himself to not see blood in every instance of red.
"This is quite a way from Envigado." He announced his approach as soon as he was close enough to not have to shout. She jumped a bit, clearly startled, but her lips pulled into a polite smile when she recognized him.
"Agent Peña." She greeted. "No, cultural grandeur doesn't usually make it out to the comunas." She sat back down on the bench and pulled a flyer from her (rather big) purse, thumbing it pensively. Javier sat beside her, not quite at arms' length. Trying to appear wordlessly inviting, if only to mask how at a loss for words she made him feel. He seemed to be no longer used to normal, civil human interaction.
"Right, there is one reading here at the Metropol that starts in about half an hour that I think you might like. It has a few of the international poets; a few of them will be reading in English. Then there's another one later at the Teatro Carlos Vieco that I'm keen on. It's about half an hour on foot between locations, but there's the open air exhibits that only require a small detour." She pointed it all out on the program as she spoke, Javier silently nodding along in acknowledgement. "I've planned it so there's more than enough time for a lunch break. I hate having to rush through things that are meant to be enjoyed. I brought arepas, but there are usually enough street vendors out and about to get something else, if you prefer." She really did talk a lot. That was surprisingly fine by Javier, since it meant he didn't have to. "Though of course if you'd rather just get your intel and go I understand, but I must insist on at least this first reading, Agent Peña. But otherwise I wouldn't want to impose. I'm sure you have other things to do."
His lips twitched involuntarily and he held his hand out for the program flyer, silently reading it over. None of the names rung any kind of bell. Not that he was much of a poetry aficionado. "Sounds good to me."
She blinked. "Which part?"
He handed her back the flyer, which she took automatically, still eyeing him with uncertainty.
"All of it." She blinked again, looking mildly shocked, the flyer still dangling uselessly from her fingers. "Miss Rivas, I came all the way here and you went through all this trouble planning. It would be a waste to part ways after so short a time."
Truth be told it sounded ...nice. The thought of spending a day just exploring, letting work be work for even just a day (or at least part of it). Despite being an only child, he'd never liked being on his own even when he was young, cherishing every day spent with school friends or any of his numerous cousins. And it wasn't like he'd had to do far less pleasant things for information.
Her expression morphed from uncertain gaping into a wide, pleased smile that he couldn't help but mirror. Maybe she was quite a nice lady after all.
---
"...I have to ask though: What's a ...smit- ...smee-dereen?"
"Smithereens." Javier corrected gently as they exited the venue after the reading. "It means... it's all the small pieces that are left over when something is destroyed. Like with a bomb."
"Hmm," she hummed, pensive as they strolled along with the leisurely flow of the crowd, "I'll have to think a bit more about this." She fished around in her purse, producing bottled water and offering him one. He took it gratefully, unscrewing the cap and taking a sip. "How did you like it, Agent Peña? Already regretting agreeing to this?"
"No." Javier found himself replying perhaps a smidgeon too quickly. "No, it's very uh... enriching." And not what he'd expected at all. Though the festival was now in its fourth year running, he'd never had the chance or the wish, really, to attend it before. He'd barely taken note of its existence, too preoccupied with chasing down leads.
"Hm, you don't have to mollify me, Agent Peña. You'll still get your intel, don't worry." Her expression slipped, from an almost serene smile back into that underlying heaviness that he could identify only now that it had been lifted for a short while.
"Miss Rivas," he said earnestly, "I wouldn't lie to you. I'm just not that good with words. That's why I'm a government agent and not a poet."
That at least made her chuckle a bit. And it was true, too. He felt lighter, in a way, like his mind had been craving a break from the frustrating work of trying to find an in to take down the cartel. Even his shoulders felt less tense here. And it was a beautiful day, too. Warm but not too hot, sunny with a mild breeze. People were out and about around them, festival goers and other citizens alike, mingling freely with a carelessness that would have been unthinkable only a year prior.
"Juan Mateo never wanted to come with me to this." She gestured vaguely at the city and its people around them. "My husband. Ex-husband. Technically still husband because he won't sign the divorce papers." Her features turned tense as she explained, a slight frown appearing between her brows. "Not that it matters now, of course. But goodness, that man had no sense for these things. He thought top shelf coffee was the height of culture. He'd act like going out to a bar one evening every few weeks was a chore beyond compare. Such a martyr!" She huffed and Javier laughed softly, offering to take her bag for a while as she adjusted it on her shoulder for the third time now.
"No, that's alright. It's not heavy. This way." Her hand naturally slipped into the crook of his elbow to steer him down the side of the road and Javier faltered for a moment, cursing himself for wearing a short-sleeved shirt even though it was comfortably warm. He just didn't want to get separated in the bustle of activity, he reasoned. This was a perfectly tame and non-offensive gesture and it would be rude to flinch away, he reasoned. She initiated it, after all. No harm no foul. This was still a professional alliance.
"You think very loudly, Agent Peña." She remarked, lightly squeezing his elbow. "It better not be about work."
"Technically I am at work right now." He countered, covering her hand on his arm with his much larger one and giving it an awkward pat.
"Lucky you." She teased, lightly nudging his side with her elbow.
"Beats paperwork, that's for sure."
They ambled along, weaving through the crowds where they gathered in front of street performers and makeshift stages. Javier couldn't deny that it felt good to feel the sun on his skin, un-recycled air in his lungs; most of all being far away from Stechner and his legion of CIA goons was almost rejuvenating. They fell into a languid rhythm, walking leisurely and stopping every so often to linger a bit where music was being played or more poetry recited, in front of the stalls of local artisans or to look at the sculptures that had been put up as an open air exhibit throughout the city. Every so often, Miss Rivas would tell him some little anecdote, be it about any of the previous festivals or just the city itself. He barely felt the time pass.
By the time they'd made it across the river and to the park wherein the open-air theatre was situated, it was time for a late lunch and Javier felt his stomach start to protest, all that walking serving to work up an appetite.
"...and after school Gabi and I would trek across town to the library and hide by the shelves in the back, the ones with the old classics, and we'd read all the scandalous 19th-century novels about adulteresses and other fallen women. You know, Anna Karenina, ThérÚse Raquin, Madame Bovary, Tess of the d'Urbervilles..." Miss Rivas set her bag down and produced a fairly big plastic container from within, setting it on the bench between them. "Perhaps not the most appropriate fare for a couple of fifteen-year-old girls, but it wasn't like we had a whole lot of supervision, you know? It definitely wasn't appropriate to read to a five-year-old, so I guess it's good that Maritza never really paid attention much- Stop my prattling any time, Agent Peña. I know I talk too much; Juan Mateo always used to say so."
Javier paused, an abundantly filled arepa inches from his mouth. "He what now?"
She flushed, looking down and picking at the wrapping paper she'd bundled the food up in. "It's fine, it's not a big deal, really."
"It's not fine." Javier insisted. Told her to shut up, told his own wife that she talked to much! What an ass. He started tearing into the arepa with a glower. They sat in silence for a while, chewing tensely in this little corner of the park at the foot of Cerro Nutibara, in a spot that was fairly hidden among the greenery while still affording a decent view of the city streets below. Javier didn't even know why it irked him so much. There were worse things out there than insensitive husbands. Ex-husbands at that. Still, he seethed quietly in his righteous wrath.
"Wanna see something funny?" She was already digging through her purse, so he didn't see much sense in replying. She pulled a photo from some deep compartment in her wallet, looking down at it thoughtfully for a moment before passing it to him. In his defence, Javier hadn't meant to laugh. It just came out, snorty and half-aborted.
"Hey, at least I managed to evade the poofy sleeves, okay? My mother was dead set on them. She wanted me to look like the English lady⊠uh, Princess Diana. I think she might have taken the name as a sign."
"That's a.. that's a lot of satin." Â And tulle. Javier pressed out, still suppressing his laughter and barely succeeding. He could have pointed out that the mass of ruffles negated any absence of actual puff sleeves, but thought it better to refrain. And it wasn't like she hadn't looked beautiful as a bride, it was more that in that ruffled satin-and-tulle concoction she looked like an unwilling dress-up doll, despite the tasteful off-the-shoulder cut and flattering waistline. It was just... there were a lot of ruffles. There was a lot of dress, period. Paired with an expression that was better suited to a funeral, the effect was almost morbidly comedic.
"Wait till I show you the cake; we were basically identical." It was the dryness of her tone that set him off. There was no suppressing it now, Javier was bellowing, tears forming at the corners of his eyes. It didn't help that the dress fashion hadn't really strayed very far from the 'bigger and more style' in the years since. All things considered, this was a comparatively simple gown, lacking the mass of sparkly appliqués and abundance of bows and flowers that had been popular in the latter years of the previous decade. It just wasn't a style that suited her personality in any way, at all. Her slender figure was absolutely drowned in the sheer volume of the skirt alone. Hell, it completely overshadowed the already forgettable man standing by her side in the photo. Though 'by her side' was a generous descriptor. There was definitely enough space for the Holy Spirit and then some between the couple.
"My mother spent ages on that damn dress. Her hands looked like pincushions by the time she was done; that's why she wore gloves to the wedding."
"She's a seamstress, right? Your mother?" She'd mentioned it in an offhand comment during one of their previous phone calls.
"She was." Diana confirmed, tucking the picture away again. "Didn't think you'd remember that."
"Of course. I listen to everything you tell me."
Diana chuckled, flushing lightly. "It's not even relevant to the case!"
"I listen to everything you tell me." Javier insisted and started gathering up wrapping paper and such to throw away. A quick look at his watch told him they'd have to get moving soon if they wanted to make it to the theatre on time to get decent seats.
"Right." Diana collected her things to stuff them back into her bag. "So it's a no for ruffles, but what would you have me wear, Agent Peña? What do you think suits me?"
Javier couldn't have told even the most skilled interrogation expert what exactly compelled him to answer, and so readily at that, why he had an opinion at the ready in the first place, or at least that's what he preferred to tell himself.
"I think... something soft and flowy, not a whole lot of embellishments, if any. Clear lines and a light fabric, something you can dance in and be comfortable. Definitely no more satin."
She laughed now, as well, eyes twinkling with what he thought was approval. "You are full of surprises. Should I ever get married again, I'll most certainly engage your services as designer, Agent Peña."
"I'll keep a spot open for you. First consultation is free."
---
How her hand can feel so natural there in the crook of his elbow after hardly a day, he cannot tell. All he knows is that by the time the reading at the open air theatre is done the sun has started to dip in the sky and if this was what his work was like more often he'd perhaps be happier in his workaholic ways. Though they haven't broached the topic of work in hours now, instead ambling half-aimlessly northward towards Conquistadores where he's parked his rental car at the hotel he's staying at. Because it is a long way to Envigado and he insisted on driving her home. Because even though now that Escobar is gone MedellĂn is much safer, but he's never been one to easily trust a good thing.
It's only when they've crossed the big main street Avenida 33 that Miss Rivas gets quieter. She's obviously  tired following their prolonged outing, but he instantly misses the pleasant hum of her voice, her clever little observations- At the same time, it's a comfortable silence, not one weighed down by expectation. She'd even let down her hair from where it had been up in a ponytail for most of the day, most likely to keep the thick curtain of it away from her neck in the heat and sun.
They're just crossing a smaller square, the edge of it lined with shops, the hole-in-the-wall kind mostly, when she suddenly pulls away with a soft instruction to wait there for just a moment, and he's left to look after her flapping skirt with what is probably not the most dignified expression. Defeated, he sat down on the broad edge of a flowerbed nearby and watched her cross to a food vendor, order, and fish around for her wallet to pay, before turning around again with a plastic cup in each hand. Fresas con crema, he can make out upon her approach, and one corner of his mouth ticks up involuntarily.
"Hungry again?" He teased when she got within earshot, handing him one cup and setting the other down beside him along with her purse.
"There's always space for this in my stomach." She retorted primly. "If you don't want any, all the better."
"Thank you for the generous offer, but no. Thanks for this." He makes a show of cupping the treat protectively, fully knowing he'll have to set it down to unwrap the plastic spoon that came with it. It makes her laugh nonetheless, which imbues him with a strange, fluttery sense of accomplishment.
She's still standing, head thrown back and grinning wide, when her gaze catches on something at the far end of the plaza, and her expression morphs from glee to astonishment to rage so quickly it gives Javier whiplash.
"Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me!" Ripping off her glasses and thrusting them into his hands, she began stalking off.
Two things are fortuitous: one, she had to pass Javier to get to whatever she saw and two, his reflexes are still sharp enough for him to jump up and into her path, even having managed to safely deposit the cup of strawberries and cream.
"Whoa, what the hell is it?"
"I- ...she-" Her voice is strained, her whole body taut like a livewire as she attempts to round him and resume her warpath. On instinct, Javier took a few steps backwards, keeping himself between her and her target. It's only his hands on her shoulders that stall her enough for him to be able to whip his head around and follow her eyeline. That side of the square is empty save for an older lady shuffling along, huffing and puffing and blissfully unaware of the wrathful freight train about to rush her. To say Javier was puzzled would be an understatement.
"What, her? The old woman?"
"That's Hermilda Escobar!" She's shaking so much he has trouble keeping a grip on her. "Look at her! The nerve of that woman to show her face here-" She winds out from under his hands, rounding him with a quick sidestep, and he can only match her speed because his legs are longer.
"Hey!" Javier whisper-shouts to be met with flashing eyes, then repeats it more softly. "Hey. What exactly are you planning to do here, huh?"
"I'm gonna give that self-righteous bitch a piece of my mind is what I'm gonna do!" She retorted, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. It's cowing, the single-minded purpose rolling off of her. She's strumming with it, her seething damn near tangible. In her rage, she is ruthless. Javier had no doubt, in that moment, that once let go she might well maul the woman with more than words.
It's instinctive, the way his arm wraps around her. Like the few times he's had to restrain Steve and yet not like that at all. For one Javier doesn't have to go for a near chokehold, though energy-wise her wrath is at least as fierce. So, he wraps one long arm around her waist, hauling her much slighter body against his with a half-turn, her forearms colliding sharply with his chest.
"Easy." He rumbles, his other arm coming up to fold across her shoulders. "Easy. Calm down. Calm down!"
Palms smack against his pectorals and it stings. "Hey!" He tightens his hold around her trembling body, her angry, anguished squirming. Softens his voice. "Hey. Calm down, okay? What're you gonna do, beat up that old woman in the street? Come on, breathe."
The sound that comes out of her is something very closely related to a snarl, and he feels the bite of her nails even through his shirt, but holds fast, continuing to ramble empty phrases with the intent to soothe, or at least distract.
"If you tell me to calm down one more time I will get violent." She promised, hands pushing into his chest in an effort to break his hold. The old woman has almost passed by completely by now, seeming blissfully unaware of the savaging she's escaping. Javier held fast, as tight as he dared, the hand still pinching the pair of glasses between two fingers awkwardly patting at her shoulder while he sways them both, rocking from foot to foot.
By the time Diana has calmed down enough that he feels comfortable loosening his hold, the old woman is long gone from view. He feels her slump in his grip, reflexively tightening his arms again to hold her up.
"Hey," he gentles, lightly nudging the side of her head and thinking, distantly, that all but burying his nose into her soft hair is far too intimate a position for any of this. "Hey, it's alright, I've got you, okay? I've got you."
They're still swaying on the spot, a gentle see-saw motion, and then he felt the hands that had been clenching and unclenching on his chest lose all tension and drop down to the side. She's still shaking, her whole ribcage jumping with the hiccup of suppressed sobs. Somehow, he maneuvers them both around and back the few steps from where their snack and her purse still wait beside the flowerbed.
"Why'd you hand me these, anyway?" It's but a cheap distraction tactic, Javier handed her the glasses back as soon as she sat nevertheless.
"I'm not blind without them." Diana responded tersely, snatching the glasses and cleaning the lenses with the hem of her dress. When she doesn't deign to elaborate, he sighs and stretches from where he'd sat back on his haunches in front of her, resuming his earlier seat and finally unwrapping the spoon. It's a tense silence for a long moment, her aggravation like a pulse around them. Certainly it gives Javier a good bit to think on.
"You wanna tell me what that was all about?"
"Don't condescend to me. You may have been closer to the action, but I've lived here all my life." She ripped open her own packet with a vengeance, digging the spoon into her own portion with such force that the sliced strawberries bleed into the white cream. Javier sighed. Took a moment to order his words before they leave his tongue.
"I just need to know if this," he gestured between her and the edge of the square, "is going to be something that has to be taken into account. I need to know that you're not just in this for revenge. I need to know where you're at mentally. I need to be sure, both for your own safety and the integrity of this operation, that you're not just going to snap one day and try to claw Miguel RodrĂguez' eyes out, okay?"
She chews angrily a moment, eyes flashing at him before she stares straight ahead again. The wrath is still rolling off of her in waves, perhaps dipping a bit in its intensity, but far from dulling just yet.
"You want to know my motivations, is that it? Well, let me lay it out for you, Agent Peña: of my entire class, a third never even made it to graduation, for one reason or another. I spent my youth plotting routes around gunfights in the street, with just enough success to still be alive, somehow. My mother was caught in the crossfire of a raid and was afraid to leave the house for years afterwards. My father was on that Avianca flight. My baby cousin Maritza is dead and her baby will grow up without her mother. And throughout it all, I took the coward's way out, moved cities, for university, for work, for marriage, for myself even, and everywhere I went they were, too. The narcos have spun their spider's web across the whole damn country and beyond and sooner or later everyone gets stuck in it. I got stuck in it despite my best efforts, and I'm tired of it. I'm tired of having to flee and turning up in dead ends. Somehow I have landed in this unique position, and I refuse to join them. Is that enough motivation for you, Agent Peña?"
She held his gaze, a challenge in fire, and he wondered how much longer that adrenaline surge would sustain her before she crashed. Wordlessly, he nodded his affirmation.
It's more tense silence after that, thick like stew or the humidity out in the jungle. She doesn't reach for him again as they resume the walk up to his hotel, doesn't casually link their arms like before, choosing instead to fidget with the handles of her bag. He hates it, misses the lightness the day had before. These narcos, they really do poison even the most mundane of things with their long, bloodied shadows. When they get to the hotel's underground garage, she's gone even more quiet, almost deflated. There are no more words exchanged, save for the clipped directions to her aunt's house. At one point, Javier was almost certain she'd dozed off.
---
"Do you ever think you should have been there? When they finally got him?" He'd just parked the car opposite of the house. It's almost completely dark outside by now.
"...Yes." Of course he did. He'd wanted, even needed to. The temporary suspension had not been near as effective a punishment as denying him that. The fruits of his labor, of years spent chasing after shadows and getting himself mired deeper and deeper, until he barely recognized himself when he looked in the mirror. He'd wanted it, sure, but perhaps he hadn't deserved it.
"Why did they send you home?" It's not that Javier is in a particularly obstinate mood, it's just that after the incident earlier, he's reluctant to bring up his own involvement with the cartels of CalĂ and MedellĂn, much less Los Pepes, so he gives a non-committal grunt in response. He should have known that wouldn't deter her. "When I first called, Agent Murphy said you had been recalled to the States. I only found out later that that was before they finally got Escobar. Why would a top agent on a case of this magnitude be pulled off and sent back before that?"
"You mean what did I do?" She nodded. There was no getting out of it now. He didn't want to lie to her either. Javier sighed, scratching his thumbnail across his brow. "You're going to look at me differently."
"Perhaps, yes." She took a deep breath, rummaging through her purse and producing a folded up paper. "These are the names of some American banks that I'm very certain help funnel and launder CalĂ's money. Sorry it's nothing more specific." She placed the paper in his hand, gently closing his fingers over it. "Whatever you tell me, we're in this together, right? We both want to bring them down. I trust you, alright?"
Javier gulped, his fingers tingling under her touch. He pockets the paper to buy time, if only to swallow through his suddenly-too-dry throat. And then he tells her. The dead ends and the crippling bureaucracy, Don Berna, the Castaño brothers and Judy Moncada and Pacho Herrera. His desperate grasping at straws to find a way, any way to throw a wrench in the escalating violence and catch Escobar, how that backfired so spectacurlarly. How he tried to get out, despite knowing that these people do not allow outs. How he'd been played by the fucking CIA because he'd been an idiot falsely believing that the two agencies were operating under even remotely the same objectives. How he'd gone down, almost taking his partner with him, definitely tanking his boss' career. He hasn't spoken to anybody about this in such depth, not even his father. By the end of it, he's exhausted.
"So you're the one Carlos Castaño wanted to feed to the crocodiles."
"What?" He'd expected judgement, even disgust. Certainly not this.
"I overheard Gilberto mentioning it on the phone. I think he must have just learned that you'd be the DEA's man in charge. 'Maybe I should have let you feed that damn DEA agent to the crocodiles after all, Carlos.' Â The door wasn't all the way closed, that's how I heard it. I think that was the moment I realized I couldn't wind my way out of this. That either they were going down, or they were going to find out that I was already talking to Agent Murphy and have me... vanished."
"I won't let that happen." Javier promised instinctively, hands tightening on the steering wheel. "Crocodiles though? Really?" Not how he thought he'd end, that was for certain.
"Yeah, they're very uh... charming, huh?"
Javier grimaced. "If I never see any of them again, it'll be too soon."
"Knock on wood." Diana replied and unbuckled herself, pushing open the door.
"I'll walk you. It's dark."
"It's only across the street." She protested, and was that the ghost of a smile on her lips? Javier's hands stilled on his own seatbelt.
"You sure?"
"If my aunt catches me coming home with a man I'll never hear the end of it." Diana slipped out of the car, then bent to grab her purse. "Good night, Agent Peña. Until next time."
"Good night, Miss Rivas."
He waited until she was inside, the door securely locked behind her, before starting the drive back.

House Of Wolves - Chapter 2 - Winterturtle - Multifandom [Archive of Our Own]
Tony being human disaster.
Chapter 2: Endeavors And Disasters
The moving came as a surprise to Peter. Stark just showed up a few hours after dropping him off in his cell and then took him here. Instead of the dull grey, the walls here were white, not to mention without stains of suspicious origin like when Peterâs family was forced to squat somewhere and there was an actual bathroom this time. The only downside was that there was no door, but it was still a whole separate room.
Privacy.
Peter kept thinking about the interrogation session ever since it ended. Itâs been hours and he couldnât figure out what had possessed him to reveal his name, but he saw no real harm in it.
For all the world knew, the Parker familyâs been dead for years. There was nothing in their name; no bank accounts, no cards, no phone numbers, so they really couldnât link anything to them. Not even his parentsâ clients didnât know their real names as there was always different name per client. Only codenames remained the same.
And hey! For all the Avengers knew, he could have taken an advantage of a missing familyâs identity-
The door opened, pulling Peter out of his musing.
âWhat the- why are you on the floor?â
Peter lazily blinked. âThe mattress is too soft. I feel like Iâm about to sink,â he replied flatly to very concerned-looking Stark.
âUh, yeah, right,â the man rubbed the back of his neck in the same manner like Peter did when he was about to get sensory overload, âwe can get a harder mattress if thatâs what you prefer. Just please donât sleep on the floor.â
Funny. Peter was used to sleeping on the floor. Though he preferred sleeping curled in the corner, sticking to the ceiling. He wasnât sure if his spider part was responsible for that particular habit, but he felt the safest there.
Unfortunately, the option to sleep on the ceiling was taken away from him.
âWhat do you want?â Peter asked, not getting up from his spot. It was time for breakfast and yet he didnât see any plate in the manâs hands. So, thatâs how it was gonna be. Interrogation without-
Stark pointed to the hall behind him with his thumb. âBreakfast. Letâs go.â
Wait, what?
Peter sat up, confused. âWhere?â
âThe magic place where food is usually prepared and eaten, also known as,â he drummed his fingers in the air in dramatic pause, âthe kitchen.â
âWhy?â
The mechanic threw his head back. âDo you want to eat or not?â
Peter did, so he obliged.
Expecting the familiar force to pull his wrists behind his back, Peter put on his best defiant face. But nothing happened. Instead, Stark motioned for him to leave the room. Peter did and still nothing happened.
Were the bracelets faulty or something?
âWell, are you coming?â
âDidnât you forget something?â
âHmm, nope, I donât think so,â Stark said as he walked, not waiting for the boy.
âWhy isnât he concerned about leaving me unrestrained?âPeter thought, going for light jog to catch up, confusion painting his features.
Pleasant smell wafted through the air the closer they got to the kitchen. Peterâs expression shifted into badly concealed curiosity. He sniffed the air once, twice, concluding that whatever was being made there, it smelled good enough to make his mouth water.
They entered and Peter could swear he saw several flashes of shocked expressions coming from the Avenger seated at the table before Stark had the chance to announce their presence. Rogers, standing in front of the stove, was the first one to break out from the stupor. He plastered his typical patriotic smile on his face. âGood morning, Peter.â
Peter gave him an unimpressed look in return. Stark motioned with his hand at the table, his hand barely missing Peterâs back.
His instincts briefly took over, making him stiffen in anticipation of the pain and ready to fight.
Peter, shoulders falling in relief when no touch came, took the nearest free chair, which was between Wilson and Barton. Barnes was opposite of him, looking at him in the way that kind of reminded Peter of the looks Stark sometimes gave him. âWhat?â he snapped.
Barnesâ expression shifted, this time into one that Peter recognized. Guilt. âNothing. Sorry,â he mumbled, quickly averting his gaze.
Narrowing his eyes in suspicion, Peter kept staring at the man until Rogers placed a plate in front of him. âHere you go.â
All words died on his tongue, his eyes comically wide when he looked down. He hoped nobody noticed, but holy shit.In front of him laid nicely stacked perfectly round pancakes. And those were no regular pancakes.
They were chocolate chip!
His mouth began to water even more. Peter was basically an acid when it came to sweets. Chocolate was a rarity in his life. He only got it for special occasions like his birthday or if he did exceptionally well on a mission, or when he managed to find enough loose coins on the streets.
Peter dug right in. The heavenly taste of the chocolate spread across the tongue, the fluffy texture making it feel like he was chewing on a cloud. Hands down, these were the best pancakes heâs ever eaten. Honestly, they were so good it could make him start to consider switching the sides.
Kidding. He would never betray his parents. But the pancakes were still good.
âDo you like them?â Rogers asked.
Peterâs head snapped up, his stuffed cheeks dusting pink once he registered amused looks of the Avengers. âYeah,â he forced out around the food before swallowing, âtheyâre alright. Thanks, Rogers.â Because he got some manners after all.
The man winced. âJust call me Steve, son.â
âSure thing. Let me try again then. Thanks, Call-Me-Steve.â
Barton snorted, choking on the food in the process. Romanov slapped his back while, her mutter of the word âdumbassâalmost drowned out by othersâ laughter.
âAh, you little shit,â Stark said as he wiped a tear from his eye, âI like you. Want some more pancakes?â
Peter shrugged, but mentally cheered. âYeah, sure, whatever.â And sooner than he thought, he made it through another plate. Then he was offered another refill and then one more.
But⊠there was something odd to the taste. Something Peter couldnât quite place, but it made his mouth a bit tingly. In the end, he just wrote it off as not being used to that much sugar and who knew what kind of special and expensive ingredients they could afford to buy.
He was halfway through the fourth serving when the questions started.
âDamn, do you have a bottomless pit instead of your stomach or something?â Stark asked. âI swear Iâve never seen someone keeping up with Rogers and Barnes when it comes to eating.â
Peter briefly considered pros and cons of telling the truth. Last time he gave them a piece of information about himself, he got an upgrade in accommodation. Maybe heâll get another upgrade after this? Well⊠it was worth a try. âNo, just fast metabolism.â
âHow much food do you need?â Romanov asked.
Peter snorted. âMore than a single sandwich.â
âWhy didnât you say something?â Rogers asked.
Peter straightened his back and put on his most serious expression. âHi, Iâm Captain America. Whether youâre a student, or a soldier, thereâs one thing that will always give you an edge,â he paused, one corner of his mouth rising slightly, âa hot lunch. You donât have to be injected with secret government super soldier serum to have strong bones and muscles. A well-balanced diet is one of the best ways to keep your body healthy. The food pyramid will help you find the balance,â he finished with a mock salute before shoving another piece of pancake into his mouth. âYou didnât ask.â
Rogers grimaced. âThey still show those?â
âDonât know,â Peter shrugged. âI never went to school, but theyâre all on the internet. But listen to me, Call-Me-Steve, what Iâm trying to say is: save your PSAs for someone else, âcuz they sure as hell wonât work on me.â
Barnes chuckled, nudging Roger with his elbow. âWhat did you get roped into?â
âOkay, but am I the only one who finds it weird that he has the whole thing memorized?â Rhodes piped in.
âNo, but I have different question,â Barton said as he leaned towards Peter, looking at him intently. Peter braced himself. Here it was. The questioning.
âWhat did Tony do to make you talk in just one sitting?â
Peter blinked twice. That was⊠surprisingly petty. âHeâs⊠annoying. Donât take me wrong, youâre annoying too, but heâs special brand of annoying.â
âGeez, thanks kid. I take that as a compliment.â
âSo, you did it to shut him up?â
âYep.â
As it turned out, four plates were his limit. Peter released long, satisfied sigh. Wow. He didnât remember the last time his stomach felt so full. He only got to eat that much before missions to ensure he was in top condition, which-
Peter frowned. Now come to think of it, he got no extra food before this mission.
âKid⊠thatâs called abuse.â
That was- no. No!
ââŠhurting their own children is not something normal parents do.â
There was no way they wanted to⊠get rid of him. No, they were just waiting for the right moment to strike.
âSame as they came for you in the past three weeks?â
Yeah, that had to be it. So, shoving away the statements that wormed their way under his skin and getting rid of that train of thoughts, Peter focused on the pleasant feeling of his full stomach.
It would be better if the strange tingling left though. It stubbornly lingered in his mouth even after two glasses of water. Oh well. He would trade the slight discomfort for full stomach anytime.
He was led back to his room when the Avengers started to clean the table. He didnât mind, strangely.
Maybe⊠maybe they werenât so bad after all.
Peterâs stomach churned. He wrote it off as being full after such a long time.
âSee?â Tony held his head high, the proud feeling radiating off of him. âIt worked.â
So early and he was already on a good track. The change of the room and good food â plus the new mattress, but that one had yet to arrive â were only the beginning. He just returned from the gym where he was putting everything that could be used as a weapon away. He assumed the kid would appreciate some physical activity after weeks of confinement.
âHe wasnât even his usual rude self! Well, for the most part. I think he was just cranky because he was hungry.â
âDonât celebrate in advance,â Natasha warned, âor youâll jinx it.â
âMe? Jinx it? Please,â Tony rolled his eyes. âIâm practically a lucky charm of this team. Seriously, what could go wrong?â
âBoss,â Fridayâs voice came from the speaker, interrupting his boasting. âPeter has been throwing up for the past ten minutes.â
âYou were saying?â Rhodey deadpanned after a moment of dead silence.
âShut up.â
There was no sign of the kid or the pancakes when he opened the door to the kidâs room/cell. âPeter?â Tony called out. A dry heave coming from the bathroom prompted him to move.
The sight that greeted him made his expression fall instantly. The poor kid was hunched over the toilet, shaking like a leaf, his face pale and sweat plastering his messy curls to his forehead. âOh, kiddo,â Tony said sadly. He kneeled next to the boy, placed his hand on Peterâs back and began to rub soothing circles on his back.
The kid tensed. âDonât touchââ Another round of his stomach turning itself inside out cut off the threat.
Tony grimaced. Well, there were those pancakes. Reluctantly, he let go, hoping that his presence alone would be enough to provide at least some comfort. After what could have been three minutes, the heaving stopped.
âYou assholes poisoned me,â the kid accused weakly.
âWhat? No, no, no,â Tony was quick to deny, âyou were there with us, we all ate the same thing and weâre alright. There was no way someone poisoned you. Why would we ruin Capâs famous chocolate chip and mint pancakes and made you sick?â
âMint?! You- bleh.â
And the heaving was back. Honestly, Tony wondered how the kid managed to bring something up after heâs been praying to the porcelain goddess for so long. But⊠mint? âWhatâs up with mint?â
The sound of Clint smacking his forehead echoed in the small bathroom. âSpiders donât like mint. Laura uses it to keep the little buggers out,â he added when the team sent him questioning looks. âAnd he ate four plates of those pancakes.â
âLeave,â the kid rasped out.
âKid, I donât thinkââ
âLeave!â Peter said more forcefully before he shoved his head into the toilet once more.
Tony, although reluctantly, stood up. âOkay.â
âTones,â Rhodey let out soft protest.
âItâs no use now,â he mouthed. âCome on,â Tony said and ushered his teammates out, throwing concerned looks over his shoulder the whole time.
âI didnât know he couldnât eat mint,â Steve said once they were back in the hallway, his head bowed down.
âNeither did we, Steve,â Sam patted Steveâs shoulder, âneither did we.â
âI didnât do that on purpose.â
âWe know.â
Peter laid curled into a pathetic ball on the floor. The moment his stomach had nothing left to expel, he splashed his face with cold water and dragged himself as far away from the lingering smell as he could, which wasnât exactly far. He rested his head on a pillow heâs pulled off the bed and he was here, breathing through waves of cramps.
Stupid.
He was so stupid, thinking that the group of heroes wasnât that bad. Just look where that got him. His parents always said that he was too optimistic, too gullible and trusting. Ingesting mint used to be a punishment for him, although itâs been so long since there was a need to use it that he forgot how horrible it made him feel.
It was only when his stomach was painfully cramping that he realized that the tingly feeling in his mouth wasnât because of the sugar, but because of the mint. It happened every time he brushed his teeth, though in much smaller extent, so he was used to it.
Peter released shaky breath, closed his eyes and buried his face further into the pillow. Sleep always helped, so thatâs what he planned to do.
Unfortunately, the universe seemed to hate him because Stark walked in in that same moment, carrying a steaming bowl of something and an apologetic expression on his face.
âHey,â he greeted softly.
âYou again?â
Peter was tired. He wanted to rest. He didnât have any energy left to argue with the billionaire.
âKid, look. We had no idea this would happen, but Iâm sorry anyway.â When Peter didnât reply, he continued. âYou said you have fast metabolism and thereâs literally nothing in your stomach to give you energy. Youâre also most likely dehydrated. So, here,â he said and approached the sad heap. âI got you home-made chicken broth to replenish those electrolytes and rehydrate you.â
âElectrolytes that you made me lose,â Peter gritted through his teeth. âDonât want it.â
âKid, pleaseââ
Peter shot the man weak glare. âGo away.â Another wave of cramps hit his stomach, making him curl into even tighter ball, barely swallowing down a whimper.
If there was something the boy hated the most, it was showing weakness in front of an enemy.
He was aware of Starkâs eyes on him. The man sighed, then placed the ceramic bowl within Peterâs reach. âI will leave it here in case you change your mind.â
The lock clicked after that, leaving him alone at last. He dragged his eyes to the bowl and just watched the steam dance above it. It smelled great. But no, he couldnâtâŠ
Or could he?
What if it was really just an accident? True, he never told them and he didnât think they had any way of knowing either. So, maybe⊠just a sip⊠but he shouldnât⊠was it really a good idea?
He hated these conflicting feelings.
Ah, to hell with it! If he threw up again, itâll be his own damn fault this time.
Carefully, Peter uncurled himself, leaned his back on the wall, reached for the bowl and blew on it before taking a sip. The rich flavor combined with the warmth of the broth spreading through his body made him relax immediately and soothed his stomach.
When he deemed himself full enough, he put the bowl down, and curled back so he faced the bed. Watching the single forgotten dust bunny in the corner, he fell asleep.
Later, when Tony went to collect the almost empty bowl, he got on one knee and threw the blanket over Peterâs sleeping form. Watching the steady rise and fall of the kidâs chest, he carefully moved his hand towards the kidâs head and e began to run his fingers through the brown curls.
The action elicited a reaction, although not unpleasant.
The kid sighed in content and subconsciously leaned into the touch, making Tony smile. It was enough to givie him a confidence boost.
He could do it.
The day his stomach was turning inside out, Peter was left mostly alone. He slept through most of the day anyway, though when he woke up, he was confused about the blanket on him. He didnât remember covering himself before falling asleep, which meant that someone, and he had a pretty good hunch who, did it for him. He found that weird.
Because why would anyone bother with making sure he was comfy? Back home, if he fell asleep without the blanket, he slept without the blanket. Simple as that.
Oddly, some part of him was⊠touched by the gesture. It was like something stirred in his soul. Something⊠something warm.
Sure, the thought of an enemy in the same room as him while he was vulnerable got him on edge, but at least he didnât wake up cold.
The next day, he refused to leave the room. All attempts to coax him out fell flat. They were back to delivering the meals to him. Thankfully, there were no more sandwiches.
Yesterday, Stark brought him a book. Peter decided not to accept the gift/peace offering, but the boredom eventually won and he found himself reading it. He almost laughed when he spotted the knife on the bookâs cover and actually barked out a laugh when he saw that the title.
Should they be giving him a book that was calledThe Knife Of Never Letting Go? Peter didnât think so.
Though he quickly found himself rooting for Todd to get away from his hometownâs army and reach safety.
And now they were today, back at the coaxing.
âSo, uh,â Stark squirmed under Peter gaze. It was strange to see otherwise confident man to act like this. âDo you want to go to the gym? To get some movement? Only if you feel up to it, that is.â
Peter, as much as he hated to admit it, didnât think about the offer for too long. He would kill to get some actual movement. Those few squats and push-ups he could do in the privacy of the bathroom were nothing compared to his usual training regime. Plus, he didnât want to get through the book too quickly since he wasnât sure whether he would get another one.
âYouâll like it there,â Stark, obviously relieved, kept on babbling as he walked ahead of the boy.
Peter was baffled by the manâs decision of repeatedly exposing his back to him. It would be so easy to jump at him, even without his powers, and snap his neck and nobody would be able to do anything about it.
âI think you will be able to use the equipment our two super grandpas.â
âYeah, whatever.â
But⊠Peter found himself not wanting to.
Why was Stark being so⊠so nice? There had to be some ulterior mo-
A sudden stabbing pain in his wrists had him stop dead in his tracks, tiny yelp escaping past his lips. Squinting, he brough his wrists up to his face to look at the bracelets.
A faint numbness began to spread from underneath them. A second later, a wave of lightheadedness washed over Peterâs whole body, making his limbs feel weak and his eyelids heavy in the process. He realized far too late what was happening.
âOh, motherfuââ
He didnât get to finish the sentence as his knees buckled. The world turned black just before he hit the floor.
âCome on, kiddo, open those Bambi eyes of yours,â Tony said as he frantically patted Peterâs cheek. How could he be so stupid? No, really. How? He was the one who designed the bracelets. He knew all about the functions included.
So just exactly how did he forget about the fail-safe?
The fail-safe that was specifically designed to inject quick acting sedatives into their wearer in case of an escape. Once they crossed a certain point â bam! Itâs a night-night for at least an hour. More that enough time to collect the escapee.
âMan, how did you forget about the fail-safe?â Sam asked from where he was hovering over the duo on the ground, knowing he wouldnât be much of an use in their current situation. He offered to spare with the kid in case he wanted to since Tony didnât want neither super soldier sparring with now-average teen, though he doubted that Barnes would say yes if asked and fighting with Natasha could be interpreted wrongly after the horrific revelation.
âI donât know, I just forgot,â Tony forced through his teeth before he resumed the patting. âWakey-wakey, spider-baby, nap timeâs over.â Lordy, heâs really done it now. Peter didnât as much as stir.
Tony tapped Peterâs cheek a tad stronger. He hoped the action along with the kidâs fast metabolism will rouse him soon enough.
The minutes felt like the whole eternity, but finally, Peter began to stir.
âPete? You with us?â
The kid looked painfully young as opened his bleary eyes, blinking several times to get rid of the hazy fog that was without a doubt shrouding his mind. âWhaâŠâ
Tonyâs shoulders fell with relieved exhale. âOh, thank God. You okay?â
He didnât know why he asked that. It was obvious that the kid was in fact not okay if his weak attempts to sit up were anything to go by. Tony put his hand on Peterâs back and gave him the boost, mindful to be as gentle as possible. One of the points to spark the change in the kid was to introduce him to a concept that not every touch had to be painful.
A concept that was no doubt alien to him.
âDonât tââ
âYeah, yeah, yeah, donât touch me, I know,â Tony said as he put his hands up in surrender, but remained in vicinity in case the kid toppled over.
The whole process kind of reminded him of helping an overturned turtle.
âWhat the hell was that?â Peter asked, some of his usual snappiness returning.
âIt was an accident, I swear! This was legitimately my bad. I,â Tony inhaled, âforgot to disable the fail-safe. Iâm sorry.â
âA lot of accidents seem to happen âround you.â
Tony shrugged, wincing in the process. âWhat can I say? Iâm very accident prone.â
Peter weakly smiled, mischief sparking in his eyes. âFor a genius, you sure are a dumbass.â
âThanks,â Tony deadpanned, âOnce again, I take that as a compliment. But look,â he lifted up his watch brought up the menu and with a few presses changed the functions, ânow you can roam the building all you want.â
The kid rolled his eyes, clearly not believing him, before making an attempt to stand up. He didnât get too far before he, as Tony predicted, toppled over; right into Tonyâs waiting arms.
See? Like helping overturned turtle. Drunk overturned turtle, but turtle nonetheless.
âTake it easy,â Tony said gently.
Peter pushed him away. âIâm fine. Letâs go to the gym.â
Much to Peterâs annoyance, he was deemed unfit to do any exercise after he struggled to remain on his feet. The process of getting to the common room was tedious and slow, mostly because he refused to accept help from either of the men.
He did pretty well with the wall alone, thank you very much.
With the gym out of the question, the movie night he learned was planned for later got turned into movie marathon. The group of heroes were milling around, busy with final preparations, while Peter nestled himself into the corner of a L-shaped couch, his slouched posture and displeased look radiating clear âdonât approach meâ message.
âI think,â Rogers said as he was reading something from his notebook, âStar Wars. Iâve been meaning to cross it off my list for a while now.â
âFinally!â Wilson muttered.
Peter tuned out the rest of the argument about how Rogers always took forever to pick when it was his turn and Rogers defending himself until a bowl of something white but nicely smelling was placed on his lap. âWhatâs that?â he asked, tilting his head to the side.
âPopcorn,â Romanov said as she sat down with her own bowl.
âPeople usually eat that while watching movies,â Barton explained, smirking slightly.
âWait, you,â Barnes joined in, awkwardly casual, âknow what movies are, right?â
Stark sat down next to him âIgnore those idiots. Theyâre just teasing.â
Peter scowled, and for some reason unknown to him, switched to defense immediately. âYou know, you all sure expose your backs to me a lot. I donât think you realize how easy it would be for me to snap either of your necks.â
âWould it really?â Romanov asked, watching him sharply.
âWouldnât be the first time,â Peter replied, matter-of-factly.
Heavy silence settled over the room, all eyes on Peter as he popped a piece of popcorn in his mouth, tiny smile pulling at his lips.
Stark exhaled, quiet and shaky. âFri, play the movie.â
Peterâs smugness soon turned into wide-eyed wonder as the movie enthralled him. He leaned forward whenever a lightsaber appeared on the screen and held his breath when the rebels were making the trench runs on the Death Star. His disappointment when the credits rolled was short-lived though. He learned there were several other movies, and since they were doing a marathon, another one was put on.
They were halfway through the third, or sixth, movie when Peterâs head lolled forward. The impromptu nap had to mess with him more than he thought, but he couldnât fall asleep yet! He had to see how the story ended. When his head felt too heavy, he leaned it on the headrest and through sheer willpower, he kept his eyes opened.
It was only when the final shot of celebrating rebels turned into final credits he left them fall shut.
Peter was out like a light in an instant.
âHe looks so innocent when heâs like this,â Bucky whispered.
âHmm,â Clint hummed, his eyes sad. âItâs hard to imagine that someone like him killed someone. Do you think he really did it?â
Steve shrugged. âHe admitted to it, didnât he?â He turned to Tony. âI think itâs timeââ
âTo get him to bed?â Tony cut him off, âYeah, I agree.â
âTonyââ
âIâve still got a little over a week, donât I?â he snapped. âI didnât take you for one to throw the towel in the ring when it came to someone. Not after Germany. Not after Siberia.â
Just as Tony expected, the reminder of the events made the man clam up. Call him a douche, but if playing dirty would get Steve off the kidâs back, then so be it!
Without another word, he bent down and carefully gathered sleeping spider-kid into his arms. Peter nuzzled himself closer and grabbed a fistful of Tonyâs shirt, making tiny but involuntary smile appear on Tonyâs face.
âTones,â Rhodey grinned, âyouâve got a giant spider on you.â
Tony, grateful for the ice-breaker, rolled his eyes. âHardy-har,â he said under his breath as he left the room.

(credit to gif creator :))
how many days did i spend thinking           âbout how you did me wrong, wrong, wrong?
It was two months after the love of your life, the golden boy Steve Rogers left you in the comfort of your home to go back to the one he said he got over. You woke up with the sun shining through your sheer curtains, rubbing your bloodshot eyes. You turn to pick up your phone to look at the time, your eye catching the picture of you and Steve taken in front of the Avengers Tower. Tears start welling in your eyes, and you sigh getting up from your bed to start your day.Â
lived in the shade you were throwing          til all my sunshine was gone, gone, gone
You saw pictures of Steve and Peggy on the internet after Steve decided to tell the world what he had done. You two were a public couple, and the both of you were Americaâs favorite. But Steve decided to make it very clear by stating that Peggy was the only love of his life and that he loved spending his entire life with her.Â
and i couldnât get away from ya               in my feelings more than drake, so yeah
You were sitting next to Bucky who had his arm around your shoulder, hating his best friend who put you in this state. âDoll, he doesnât deserve your tearsâ âI know Buck, but it sucks ya know? I mean to hear him say she was the only one he loved...â saying that made you cry even more, and you clung to Bucky like a koala. You only were this vulnerable around the avengers themselves, and this much only to a few. Your hard exterior was walls being rebuilt after your loss. You were the cold Avenger, and seeing you like this hurt Bucky more than anything. Â
your name on my lips tongue tied free rent living in my mind
Three months later, you were at a Press Conference about dealing with the after math of Thanos. âDoes anyone have any other questions?â You asked the interviewers âYes actually, who will take over the spot of Iron Man and Captain America. I mean oneâs dead and the other sure as hell will be soon?â âYou didnât expect to get a question about Steve directed at you. âUm, uh, as of right now Spiderman is training to become the next Tony. And uh, as for, the other oneâ âSteve Rogers, you mean?â âYeah, uh, him. He has handed down the shield and the position to Sam Wilson, also known as Captain America. That will be allâ You quickly rushed off the stage, grabbing the first water bottle in your sight chugging it. You saw Bucky run towards you âI donât know Buck, I just canât say his name? It still hurtsâ and all Bucky did was wrap you in his arms. Later that night you decided to get rid of all that was left of Steve Rogers in your apartment. Â
then something happened one magical night,                            Â
i forgot that you existed                      and i thought that it would kill me but it didnât                            and it was so nice                           so peaceful and quiet i forgot that you existed                     it isnât love, it isnât hate, its just indifference   Â
You walked through the lobby into the elevator, on your way to see your friends. As you exited, you had a smile painted on your face. âGood morning Buck!â âGood morning Doll, you look happyâ Bucky smiled at you drinking his coffee. âI am! I donât know, its like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulder but I donât know whatâ âYou mean Steveâ Your jaw dropped. âBuck, I forgot he existedâ âWhat do you mean?â Bucky had a confused expression written on his face. âOh my god, I didnât think of him for the first time this morning! We are going out to celebrate James, come on!â Bucky laughed as you pulled him into the elevator, leaving behind the warm coffee which started become stale.Â
and i would've stuck around for ya would've fought the whole town, so yeah would've been right there, front row even if nobody came to your show
(flashback)
You were running your hands through Steveâs golden locks while he laid his head on your lap. âIm so tired of fighting y/n, and sometimes I wonder if I do the right things. Im so scaredâ You could see in his eyes he had tears and you sighed, pulling him closer to your chest. âSteve Rogers, you are the best man I know. I know you do everything for the people. You fight for the people Steve, and that is what makes you so special. I trust you, and so does the world. I mean youâve saved our lives countless times, so why canât you trust yourself?â He looks up at you with red eyes, and smiles. âI love youâ You smile back.Â
(end of flashback)Â
but you showed me who you were, one magical night
âHi Doll,â Your head perks up because besides Bucky, there was only one other person who called you Doll, and Bucky was right in front of you. You could see Bucky visibly tense at the presence of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter. âWhat do you want Steve?â You ask, shoulders stiff. âI, uh, I wanted to apologizeâ âFor what, lying to me for 2 years? Telling me you loved me when you oh so clearly donât which you made very clear in interviewsâ âI-â âDonât Steve. I forgot that you existed. And iâd like to keep it like thatâ You turned around, hearing the pair of footsteps retreating. You audibly let out a sigh and a breathy laugh. âThat went better than I expectedâ Bucky said, with a smile on his face. âYea, it didâ you smiled at Bucky.Â
