Another amazing order “do whatever you want”. So I went again with a 6’2” semi-finless concept adapted for a regular footer. The idea was to shorten the heel rail to ease the transition from front rail to cutback-reverse spin. Also the heel fin is smaller and moved forward with the same purpose, as you ride this boards with a centered stance and from the rail, not from the tail. Sad I won’t be able to test it as I’m goofy foot 😅 .... The video shows how perfect came the bottom skin right after vacuum bagging. Next picture shows the blank before bagging. First go with the intricated woodwork of Roberto from @gastboards Hard to explain how he does it but definetively not made the way you may think. This fins are a two layered bamboo ply and and exterior layer of Roberto’s work, and won’t be fiberglassed. The only way I know to shape the rails is by making clean rail bands. This way the rail transitions come out smooth and it’s easy to visualize your next step.
