the way innocent and mirrorball are some of my favourite songs - honestly innocent is so underrated and it's because they associate it with k* but honestly I relate so much to it

it is an incredible song, easily one of the best on speak now but unfortunately it will never get the praise it deserves.... IT’S SO GOOD THOUGH! i wish we didn’t know who it was about so we could just appreciate it without putting that burden on it.

In coney island when she sings where did my baby go I always feel like she means where did the time go because she references her exes in the bridge - also someone said this on tik tok but in the bridge the guy sings the lines referencing the relationships where her ex was wrong/the cause of the breakup - birthday Jake, sky darkest grey John, accident Harry and she sings the lines where she was the cause - did I leave you hanging Lautner? podium Calvin

yes! i think it’s just about time too, it has the vibe of an old woman sitting in a park reflecting on her life. a lot of evermore feels like that to me, where it seems like it’s someone wiser just retelling stories... maybe the old woman visual comes to me from ivy? i don’t know.

i also like how the exes lines can be about the albums too! sky for speak now, birthday for red, accident for 1989.. don’t know exactly where the podium and leave you hanging would go but i think it’s an interesting look. i love the amount of reflection this album it makes me very happy.

ahhhhh I started mistborn the final empire and I have so many emotions, I've been reading too much ya where they always have those weird age gap romances when they could've actually been doing father daughter relationships!!!!!

the scene where he first teaches her allomancy is immaculate - I was not expecting yeden to try to take the garrison and now the army's numbers are down

i love vin so much her and elend are so cute but oh my god kelseir is one of the best characters I've ever read I love him so much - always with the smile eventhough he has trauma!!!

Vin going off on him about how he's also a nobleman not a skaa then kelseir goes to comfort her - she still loves reen despite the damage he caused her because of how he conditioned her and her learning to trust everything is making me so emotional I relate to her so much

I have a theory that lord ruler found a way to combine feruchamy and allomancy and that's how he's powerful - and vins abilities are powerful because of her birth father

Ive got a few chapters left and honestly I've always been someone who got spoiled so now I don't care anymore about them but I need to know because I have a feeling kelseir will die and I needto be prepared

I’m assuming you’re around chapter 30-33 based on these so I won’t comment on anything that happens around that time or after it BUT THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING NOTIFICATION I’VE EVER RECEIVED. I could talk about this series for days and it is evident by the lenght of this answer lmao.

Kelsier is quite honestly the best character Sanderson’s ever written and I stand by that despite the fact he’s gotten much better with characterization and character development in general over the course of his career. He stands out as a protagonist because he is right between good and bad. Fantasy often looks at morality in black and white terms, even when you have morally gray characters they have a code of ethics that restrains them and makes them approachable to readers. Kelsier? Kelsier is pretty utilitarian. He will do what needs to be done and he will not feel remorse. If it involves throwing a rich guy’s corpse in somebody’s else’s bushes what does he care. He’s so damn likeable anyway. Because is he wrong? Shouldn’t the nobleman suffer for the system they uphold? There’s a lot of discussions to be had there and I love it when books do that.  

That confusing morality is woven into the story. What exactly is his secret? Why is he making himself into something larger than life? And you get to question him right along with the characters. Mistborn in general has such great commentary on who can make it in this world and what it takes for them to make it but Kelsier is a prime example of it, along with Marsh - the way they parallel each other drives me insane, and it is probably my favorite sibling dynamic in any media I’ve ever consumed.

He is a really fun mentor figure too. It was a nice use of the trope because he’s not an old wise man - he’s just a guy with a couple of friends trying to overthrow a god. And it sounds like that the connection between the two of them wouldn’t be as strong because of it. Because he is not a father figure. He makes terrible decision regarding Vin at times (*cough* Kredik Shaw... Dockson is a legend for yelling at him for that one). However, he focuses so much on her trust and comfort which no one ever did. Reen cared for her in a sense of survival, keeping her alive was all he could do. Kelsier wants to keep her safe, though the very job he assigned her means she can’t be. His inner-conflict of what to do with her in those terms is also a great read. 

And to stop my rambling, the found family of it all! She’s not there because she’s on a payroll, she’s not there because she has nowhere else to go. He gave her opportunities to leave and she stayed because she was treated as an equal and because she enjoys their company.

Also every interaction Breeze and Ham have is gold. Most of the interactions the crew has are gold.

You know how the hashtags have ts at the end - I feel like the songs/album should have ts at the end in the title instead of taylors version (only because people abbreviating fearless (TV) looks so weird to me it's literally one letter change for her initials 😭)

Yntcd - it shouldve been a droplet for the act, like only the young for the doc, afterglow - so beautiful,deserves more hype, me! - don't like patd on it, needs better production, the spelling thing has too much focus, it needs a better speaking bridge like shake it off or wangbt, i want to hear the piano version from the doc, itsounds sad - like she's making herself believe it inthaf - deserves so much more appreciation, daylight, one of the best closers, so beautiful, we deserve the red mashup

Ifye - good opener from rep, cs - on first listen I didn't like the transition from verse to chourus but bridge goes hard, lover - beautiful song deserves #1, the man - like it but not as a single, good in showing her journey in the music industry but isn't the feminist song swifties want it to be, the archer - made me cry, deserves way more in the fandom, encapsulates anxiety so well for me, Ithk - bop, love the background vocals in it, maathb - enjoy the song and the concept....

I love lover, I always get a bit defensive because I know if she performed it live it would get so much more appreciation in the fandom but I understand what you say about certain songs (another ask) but especially after the doc you can tell she tried so hard for it but I do hate the hate it gets from swifties because it was her first album she owned and lover the song deserved to chart #1

i think some people definitely shit on it because it didn’t have “commercial success” (it gets called a flop.. but it didn’t flop it had pretty solid chart performance idk what people are on about) and that’s very annoying. her albums truly come to life on stage and i think it would’ve changed things because she always switchesthe production up a bit.. i never listen to rep album versions but i live on the live performances. the same thing might’ve happened there.

What's your ideal singles from the albums? I feel like 3 singles is enough and if you want then a promotional one ( but I don't see the point of then really) - for rep I would've loved dwoht or dbm (I loved endgame as a single) lover, definitely Ithk or paper rings, red I would've loved starlight, I feel like cardigan and willow is perfect - especially for the concept of the music videos and to show the difference between the albums, idk 1989 had too many singles

paper rings - unmatched, Cornelia Street - prefer the acoustic, her vocals are enough so I think the production should've been flat (like the way tolerate it is one beat but her vocals carry the song), dbatc - I don't really listen to this, doesn't do anything for me, London boy - bop, love the sattire, her live performance was so fun, sygb - hits home hard and now I think it should've been 13 and false god 12, false god - unmatched, it does all that even without a bridge

((i don’t love the cornelia street production either ayyyyyyyy)) PAPER RINGS BEST SONG ON LOVER, fun fact i heard those drums and started crying. taylor swift doing something sligthly punk influenced made me sob that was great. london boy is great, a v fun moment on the album. false god too. 

the tolerate it production!!!!! the archer and inthaf have a similar thing too, it’s such a good sound.

Hey, this is probably a big ask but I love hearing your opinions and something I don't like about taylors albums is the tracklisting, so 9 albums is a lot so maybe just your favourites but how would you rearrange the tracklist ( you can delete songs, put some in deluxe versions, or put deluxe songs on the normal version) I'd love your opinion on red, lover, evermore, folklore - personally I feel like rep is the album where I don't mind the way the tracklist is

i feel like this is a surprise to no one but i genuinely believe red is a perfect album. what i’d do is add babe to it and put it before the last time and make it end with the ‘this is the last time’ backing vocals. and if the instrumental was reworked to fade into the last one it’d be a really cool transition. i wish taylor actually did transitions because they make the tracklist mean so much more and i just think they make listening to the album a better experience?

rep... i love intros. and the tour intro should exist as a studio version because it’s incredible. imagine listening to reputation for the first time and it beginning with journalists talking about her. i don’t think i would’ve survived it. in general i’d replace the songs with live versions? i think i did something bad really shines with the live arrangement and the king of my heart drums could work as a really cool interlude too. in general i wish rep had more songs that focused on her reputation i don’t have a lot of problems with the tracklist either though.

track 5 this that i don’t care make the archer the opening track. it would be a slow start but the first words you hear being ‘combat i’m ready for combat’... i don’t think i have to explain it. and then, if you make afterglow the last track the production matches so it’s good if you loop it. !!!very controversial opinion!!! but miss americana truly doesn’t need to be there. it is not as woke of a song as people make it out to be and it’s too slow... that bridge is a cheerleader chant and it still somehow drags? not that interesting and the album needs to be cut down a bit i’m sorry. i would remove me! but i am keeping it for the memes. the man.. make it an interlude and keep nothing but the bitches and models part. i think he knows and false god should be next to each other. same thing, very different approach. i like the juxtaposition in sound.
